Title: Why Always Trust Project Whitepaper?
Post by: adekogbe on August 11, 2018, 07:26:05 PM
It is important to know that for any project hoping to convince investors into putting their money into the project, they are going to be focused on making the project as appealing as possible which means that the project's whitepaper will surely be good so I believe you should look beyond the projects whitepaper to decide if a project is legit or not.
Always make through research of a project's team, road map and token metrics to decide which projects to invest in

Because the project Whitepaper is the most basic thing you know about a project, Whitepaper is used as a reference for your investment. It doesn't have absolute authenticity. Maybe it's just a concept. You can't just rely on it when you invest. you should know more about project.

Experienced investors will never invest in the project only on the basis of whitepaper. It is important to carefully analyze the project. First of all, see which people are behind the project and how the profit will be made.

Whitepapers are to lure investors. Don't get me wrong, but many whitepapers are just full of bullshit and have very little value/ juice = technical descriptions, detailed info on devs plans.
This trend started few years ago, when people started saying that no whitepaper = scam.
Today I would say it may be exactly opposite.
Recently I was looking on Steem (Steemit.com) history and they started with no wallpaper of all, hell, they haven't even post description of their project.

The whitepaper just a concept and it can't be trusted and i have seen so many projects are changing the roadmap and make it different with all of the roadmap that has already stated on its whitepaper. Whitepaper is a media that makes the developers can explain their concept to build the future product. Whitepaper can't determine how good the project is.

WP should be always backed up by real team (with dev experience) and by open source code and/or working MVP! There are WP writers that charge a bit of $$...

I totally agree with that!
It is necessary to carefully check the white paper, the potential of the project, its relevance, what kind of team to deal with it

Whitepaper is not the basis to conclude that the ICO is legit because there are some project who have shown a good Whitepaper but in the end it turns out to be a scam so it is better to have a deep research and analyze the project before investing or try to communicate with them and ask some questions to prove that the team and project is real.

Scam projects or Legitimate ones will definitely make their whitepaper to be appealing and convincing as they can because this is the most common spot for most investors to be checked
but talking about always trust then it shouldnt really be always a basis where if you do find out that they have a good whitepaper you decide to invest. Its definitely a common mistake and the reason
why most people do fall into scam project knowing that scammers are getting smarter yet they do already know that WP is the main thing been checked therefore they would need to focus on doing it realistic.

I suppose you should not think that way, trusting in whitepapers can hurt your investment. I can tell you that almost whitepapers have the same contents and goals but with different prjects. I have read a ton of it and believe me or not, the ones who are too good to be true are just scam.

In any project, if their whitepaper is suspicious of any kind like missing business plans, next to impossible product, and many other reasons as to why whitepaper is so important. Many critics would always notice the business development plans because it is the most important standard for a successful project.

The basic details of any project is found on the Whitepaper, from dere,  u can know what and what is really the content nd details of the project if it has future or not.... But pls, some white paper could contain false details, so it doesn't have ultimate authenticity. Checkout for the team members, u can get some facts dere too..

While Whitepaper is a good thing to do but you should not depend on it for making investment decisions. Today, Whitepaper is becoming a tool for marketing the project, but it still contains parts that are true. So, you need to select and capture the important information and avoid the information, marketing content to deceive you.

Yes, not only a whitepaper you would know if that legit one or scam also you may check the whole team and their website too.

Whitepaper is just one of several points to consider before you decide if the project is legit or not. There are still many other things that you need to analyze. Check the project info and its legality, team member info, its social media, and ecosystem support. You should check them not only on whitepaper, but also explore trusted information from many sources on internet.

There is a need to document the steps that the project should take and the technical solutions that it will use. Therefore, most of the projects are based on the road map and white paper. Although at the moment in the red market and it does not help much.

At least the team that has a very huge supporters can be considered as a good project too consider the majority all of them have been doing a lot of research.

When I analyse any project I assume that all the information I am getting is false unless I can confirm it from independent third party sources. You should always remember that the whitepaper has been written for one purpose only. To convince people to invest time and money into the project. At best they will always promote the positive and try to diminish the negative, at worst they will be nothing more than a carefully contructed web of lies designed to part you from your money. Be sceptical at all times.

That is there part of story and there work to make it look like premium but I don't see it true by any means. You should not be relied on piece of Whitepaper where everything is written down about the project, its logics, products description and much more stuff. Because this can be made so easily in one day.
What you need to look into the ICO is whether they are having working products and services or not? If they are starting from the scratch then you are taking use risk with them because you dont know whether they will end up having proper products and services at the end or not. Opposite to this, any project with working models will have higher response because they are just scaling up themselves and thus making the project bigger asset and will be legit too.

White paper is an important thing in a project because it contains the basis of the construction of the project. In the white paper, of course, it must contain the project's vision and mission, the excellence of the project, the road map and the development team that allows it to attract many investors. But, to decide on a good project or not, just look at the white paper, there are many other things that need to be examined so that you can determine the best decision.

This is not because everyone believes in white papers because the form of ICO is itself a sales concept. Therefore, it is necessary to read the white paper, but does not fully believe everything in the white paper. These things may be fake. Therefore, if you want to participate in ICO, we need to understand the project from many aspects so that we can make some useful judgments.

Whitepaper is their project testament that a investors should look into it to verify if the team has doing base on their whitepaper. This could also attract investors if they found it very interesting. Sometimes whitepaper is not realistic and far from the actual outcome of the project in which investors should be careful not just rely on whitepaper.

I don't think there is anything wrong with hiring writer to create your wallpaper, as long as he's only used as a tool to transfer your ideas to paper (in my country we used to call ghost writers "Negros"), but if he's more of a marketing person then you're right, that's wrong - I don't mean that marketing people shouldn't be involved in creating wallpapers, but their involvement should be limited to making text easier to read etc. Who knows where BTC would be today if Satoshi would make his whitepaper more flashy.

An excellent white paper has a clear roadmap. A detailed description of the project and how the project will develop. If the white paper shows all that the investor needs, it will help investors evaluate the project through a blank white paper. But in fact, very few projects can accomplish the goals set out in the white paper

You can trust but don't expect them to deliver on time.

Anyone can draw up a nice looking forecast and roadmap using some numbers and concepts that they like. The real question is if they can abide by that schedule and follow those promises. Because in the end, a white paper is nothing more than a piece of paper, if that.

Whitepaper is one of many way to attract investors to join/put their investment into the project.
But not all whitepaper contain trusted information, some might be true (real project) and some can be a scam (fake project).

I don't think that whitepaper does it for me, at least not anymore. While it might be a good way to gain insight on a project and see what is about, and also help in determining whether or not it is a good project, it doesn't just feel like it for me anymore. Maybe because I have come to realize that not all convincing whitepapers eventually succeed. We see that even scam projects have better whitepapers these days. It takes more for me to trust a project than just its whitepaper.

I think the whitepaper can be really well done and convince a lot of people of it's credibility but it still doesn't make the project legit, there is still background of the members of the project to be looked for.

In fact, the white paper will kill a project. Because if dev can not achieve the goals set out in the white paper, the project will be underestimated and the community will not trust that project. White paper is a double-edged sword, It can attract the community can also kill the project as I say

It is important to know that for any project hoping to convince investors into putting their money into the project, they are going to be focused on making the project as appealing as possible which means that the project's whitepaper will surely be good so I believe you should look beyond the projects whitepaper to decide if a project is legit or not.
Always make through research of a project's team, road map and token metrics to decide which projects to invest in

whitepaper is a necessary condition of a project, from which we can know and learn the goal of the project. A good project will certainly have whiteper clear. But the whitepaper is only the necessary condition but not sufficient

Whitepaper is one of the beat ways to learn about a project's information and their product when it will be released and many more. But investment decisions should be based on a lot of other important information gathered through research.

If the idea of the project is quite feasible, then I trust. However, I always pay attention to similar products from competitors.

The white paper reflects only the ideas and intentions of the project. At the stage of the ICO, the only thing that can give us an understanding of what the project is, is its white paper and road map. You can also rely on the experience of the creators of the project and their credibility and reputation, but this is not always the best indicator.

Personally, I do not always trust project whitepaper. In my few years of being on these streets, I have learnt that a good whitepaper doesn't exactly mean a project would be successful. Worse now is that many of the scam projects that we have on the streets have really convincing whitepapers. Sometimes even more convincing than the genuine ones. So I have learnt the hard way that a good whitepaper isn't a guarantee that the project will be successful.

It is important to read the whitepaper because it explains what the fundraising is all about. Other purpose is to create trust and legitimacy in the minds of the people who are going to buy the tokens. But, I don't think we should always trust the whitepaper. It is possible that a scam company can hire a professional to do the whitepaper and produce an excellent proposal.

Because it outlines all the information on the project. With a correct and thorough analysis, you can understand whether this project is promising or not.

I think it because it brings more light to what the project is all about and what they have for the community

That is the problem mate. Whitepaper is important but how if the whitepaper was made with no good value? Its useless.
So after this, whitepaper is not so important anymore but working product and good team is the most important one so always check those thing.
