Title: which alts will survive?
Post by: celvortex on August 13, 2018, 06:26:57 AM
hey all, new to this forum, was wondering which alts do people think will survive? Which ones will gain traction when this crypto winter ends? Which ones have a use that will be taken up by the mainstream? Thanks

ETH is the one struggling the most. But right now, EOS is doing well and chances are high this will thrive in the market too.

This encrypted winter is long, and I believe most people and altcoins will leave, and only those who remain faithful to the Bitcoin and insist on digging are likely to stay until spring.

The altcoins that will surely survived are ethereum and those projects that have good fundamentals. As long as cryptomarket exist those altcoins with real-world use cases will survive.

some altcoin who has indeed proven to be able to survive is the ethereum, Neo, Ripple and also Dash. For EOS because it was new, though much good news, but not yet proven to be able to survive.

I think the first one is unshakable, and the second one is very discerning. This is the crowd through the cryptocurrency winter. In fact, most people are losing money this year.

I think ETH and EOS will continue to struggle to survive.
I have a prediction if between ETH and EOS will rise high in the coming year. and EOS is currently a lot of interest in this coin.

I think Ethereum and Tron will survive, I'm sure Ethereum and Tron will get out of this trouble, Ethereum and Tron have very large market capitalization and they have a very great development team, we see all altcoins start to recover and bitcoin also begins to recover.

I think there are not a lot of good altcoins. Only a few will survive, as is the case with startups. It is worth to try to bet on the ones that you think have a good plan and team. I think out of alts Ethereum and Monero are good.

~which alts will survive?~

I believe that ETH will survive in crypto world. Its popularity among others is still the best for me. ETH also has been used by many projects and traders to be a payment. I think it will continue for long time since it has become a necessity.

Among the altcoin, NEO and Litecoin have good chance to survive in my opinion. These coins have great utility and transaction rate. But the chances of surviving depends on the acceptance of the people.

I also have this opinion, for me it is the most profitable and reliable assets, but I would have added to them no less promising coin is Ripple. For me personally, these coins are more reliable with a bright future.

Yes, I have the same thoughts as you. Ethereum is the best altcoin with many projects that use the platform. EOS is a newcomer that makes it possible to follow ethereum's footsteps, and now many projects are being built using the platform. I think both are strong and will be able to survive.

Exactly, only few alts will survive since a lot of crypto are in struggling in bearish trend. I am seeing on ethereum a high chance to survive  and a huge chance to explode the value this year. Well, eos has a chance this year once their is an improvement on their project it can survive.

Some of the altcoins I have come across will survive the cold of the winter, for instance Nexty token will not die because of its use case in the payment service industry. The Nexty blockchain is able to help make an instant payment without fee.

I eth will survive because eth are already established yet the value continues to fluctuate but its normal the important is eth getting stable, and I believe no one can make that impact too as we can see the history of the eth last year it makes a terrible impact.

Gradually, only the potential altcoins exist. Such market purification is very beneficial to investors because they avoid potential altcoins and ICOs. I hope that in 2019 the non-potential cryptos will be deindexed out of the market and only exist ICOs whose daily trading volume is high, over $ 1,000,000.

many altcoins have good potential and are in great demand by large investors. one of them is XRP. I believe ripple has great potential, because I have seen the news that the Coins.ph Philippines-based financial services platform has announced xrp has been added to its platform as a payment tool for utilities. Will it have an impact on the price of XRP on the exchange market? we just wait

Really? EOS has been decreasing a lot to the bottom and it's only 5x from the ico price. If you are seeing the EOS ATH and a lot of people have been loosing a lot of money in EOS.
The major coin will be survive but this time the situation it's a little bit difficult to the small cap altcoin because they can get dump to the bottom.

Which ALT COIN will survived...??? well, one should note that market Volatile, the with good fundamentals, clear market stractures, with stable price even during the ups and down of the market, yet it bounce back or recover its market status, With this incators such coin will survive the market.  another thing in the behavior of the investors or the level of confidence by investors for such coin.. i think Ethereum, EOS, Litecoin..

It is difficult to tell right now, the ones that looked most promising are simpy going down hill, like NEO for example, it lost almost it's value, however EOS is still maintained and Cardano too so I would aim for them.

Those coins which has real use case, a good marketing team behind it and hard working devs will not die. They'll grow sooner or later.

As far as Eth is concerned, Eth can't die as it has the perfect use as gas which is needed for erc 20 coins/tokens transaction.

I think top 10-20 tokens/coins on coinmarketcap will survive, actually it's hard to know which alts will survive right now because as you can see the crypto market is not good right now. I think BCH, LTC and DASH will survive but the price will fall too if the crypto market not go up.

Title: Re: which alts will survive?

I think alts that will survive will be those with a real project that actually bring something new (many crypto projects don't need blockchain, they're just there to enjoy hype). I also think there will be purification in the number of similar projects (many crypto are competing with the same concept, only the best will survive)

For the moment we are in the speculation phase (very few crypto have a functional product), the purification will begin when the blockchain will really be used

At this point it’s really hard to predict. There are thousands of altcoins in the market and many more are emerging. In my opinion some potential altcoins would be ADA, BAT, ONT, IOTA and NEO. I think NEO is yet to show its potential and it requires almost no fees in transactions for NEO. Another altcoin is Binance coin (BNB) which is used in the Binance exchange. It’s been performing pretty good too.

The current market situation is very unstable and nothing can be predicted, all alts have fallen badly and BTC dominance is increasing which is not good for altcoins. But if you can hold then this is good time to buy some best altcoins like NEO, ADA, ETH, ONT. All these are good projects with huge community, available very cheap right now and have the potential to grow again.

but Ethereum is the toughest one for sure, even they're falling so hard it'll be back again.

If you are asking for just one name then I would say ETH is the coin. ETH is the king of alts. ETH has faster blockchain than BTC and it's blockchain is used by almost 90% of altcoins who are developed on ETH blockchain and follow ERC-20 standard. ETH is highly sophisticated, most promising and highly demanded coin after BTC.

There are too many to mention, 1845 on Coinmarketcap in fact,if an apocalypse is to occur, only those that have survived the test of time and have some degree of product functionality have the best chances of surviving again.

If you are seeking an altcoin to invest and want to know if the alts you want to invest can survive this current red market, better choose some coins in the top 20 that are listed in the coinmarketcap. Because most of the top listed coins on coinmarketcap mostly survive. ETH is one of alts you can invest in, although it’s price is down right now but it is the perfect time to invest in it and you can gain profit when the bull market starts.

A year ago, 98% of all passing ICO were based on its blockchain. But since the beginning of 2018, the vector of development has changed. Now more and more (promising and interesting) projects are choosing for themselves other platforms (NEO, EOS, NEX).

In my opinion, Alt coin like Eth has great capability to survive in future because factors that make it unique are cheaper fees and faster confirmation. I think it’ll survive in long run and others will disappear gradually.

I strongly believe that among the altcoins Ethereum, NEO, EOS, Ripple among others will survive in this crypto world as the project that brought them into development was a nice one. These set of altcoin mentioned above are my favorite coins am holding right now. Ethereum will lead them to a surviving community of cryptocurrency.
I agree with you ETH, NEO, EOS will survive but not for Ripple. I don't believe Ripple much. I think NEO will become the best altcoin in future, it has good technologies that make it fast and cheap.

You cannot really predict the cryptocurrency market. Many altcoins have come and gone in this cryptocurrency market. But many were potent enough to survive the market. Ethereum, Bch, ltc etc are some potential altcoins in the market.

These coins have a good payment foundation and safer security system than other coins.

The altcoin that will definitely survive are the one's that has a good value like ethereum, litecoin, ripple and etc. But the altcoin that has a potential to have a good value is ethereum because many investors are now holding eth than any other altcoins.

In this bear market, every coin with its better concept and volume will always survive. here is likely the era for the coins to prove their performance and existence in crypto. however, for the top lists in the market, I think that many altcoins can survive although they are still struggling to reach higher price. As the Ethereum, although many people are doubtful of the progress, I'm pretty sure that this coin can reach its higher price again as usual.

The altcoins that will surely survived are ethereum and those projects that have good fundamentals. As long as cryptomarket exist those altcoins with real-world use cases will survive.
Only the coin which has good community and all community has good trust to coin. The real use case in the real world also will be one of the survivors. An example etherium and the  top ten of coinmarketcap is of course can survive. However i still put etherium as the first priority to survive.

The project that has already offered the real use case in our life is too rare.
There are only some projects that have created the product that can be used in our life.
The community can't become a good measure to determine how good the project is. Remember centra which have gained so many supports from the community but it fails due to the scam project.

I guess most of the alts are just your lucky shot and nothing else. Most of the times they will go down and won't come unless and until the bitcoin is in proper steady situation. But by that time you can yourself earn some more profits form the bitcoin holding itself. I guess its better to go with that only if you really want to have nice ROI.
Altcoins are there today and may not be there the other day. Lolz.
But you can choose as a normal investor look after the top coins (10-100th rank)

The question is difficult to answer. When investing in altcoin, I think you have to thoroughly research the technology and its application. Similar to other altcoins, if the project is really good enough, it will recover after the last downtime. I invest in altcoin like: CMT, MVP, EGT, EOS ... and these projects  is really good. Therefore, I continue to hold it and wait for the market to recover.

Well, for sure the top altcoins would do more than just survive but most would flourish. However, for the altcoins which are new in the market, there are many factors that are needed to be considered in order to determine if they will survive or not (e.g. project, team handling the project, etc.)

I think that while most of the alts that we presently have might not survive, a good number of them will. Thing is the market has not exactly been favorable for so many, especially those that were still trying to gain a stance in the industry before the market went downside. And the occurrence of that event has made their struggles worse even, and this is why a good number of them won't succeed.

Its would be too difficult to predict upfront which altcoins will survive. It depends on the concept and force driving the project. The concept of the altcoin itself has to benefit society in reality having real values thus giving the public a reason for a particular altcoin to stay afloat or excel in the market. If an altcoin does not fulfill this then society as a whole will not bother with it and therefore the altcoin will fade out due to irrelevance.

I think we are still in an incipient stage of development of this market, so the current bearish situation should not be considered as an apocalypse of which there will only be few survivors.

It is obvious that the vast majority of the altcoins will survive, but in the medium term we could see a greater reluctance of new investors to invest in new projects as frenetically as we have seen so far. We must also keep in mind that the market is evolving, and some cryptocurrencies that look interesting today, could be displaced tomorrow.

Now in the list of coinmarketcap more than 1500 projects, and I think about 80 percent of these projects will eventually disappear. Only those who have a ready-made product, a strong team and a sufficiently large capitalization will remain. These are the first 100-200 projects from the rating. And it will be more and more difficult for beginners to realize themselves over time, because a lot of new projects are similar to existing ones, and the crypto community does not particularly support them

It is very obvious that the top tier coins are the ones who will survive. If you check on it, they are the coins that has high demand in trading and product/services. The circulation is also at its peak for this coins. Coins at the very bottom doesn't have that much demand compared to top tier coins. Ripple could be the most aggressive coin when it comes to pricing. Ethereum won't let that happen so its a battle between the #2 spot.

The alternate coins that will survive are the ones that has an aggressive circulation. Stagnant coins will just die eventually so make sure to dispose it as soon as you can. Doesn't matter if the coin is at the bottom tier as long as they are being sold and someone is buying them. That will be enough for a coin to survive.

Alts these days are like stocks.  They have taken on characteristics of small businesses where the value of the coin asset is determined by the work the various teams are doing and the results being achieved.  Therefore, I would say that so many alts will survive as long as they remain viable as a profit producing or value generating business.

The altcoins are really going to survive for  a very long time. The coins that shall survive are definitely Paragon, Stellar and Cardano. They are excellent for long term and profitability.

Major factor to consider is whether a project has a working product/prototype/service or is just still a concept or work in progress. This could be fodder for extinction as non-operational altcoins are weeded out in favor of ones that actually have something on the table or have made significant partnerships.

MY opinion,  altcoins is better to make a good profit in the short term. But most altcoins are the best investment for the long term. That's like these coins. NEO, ETH, IOTA

I think it is too early to predict. My opinion is not over correction, it is very difficult to know something for sure. That's how the market will level off. Then I will say what I think.

Aside Bitcoin to recover there's many altcoin that ranks from the bottom and now it is on top , so I think these coins will survive this year like ripple , litecoin ,  ADA , neo and cardano , Ana many new coin that comes from the bottom , then it's getting on top.

More or less the one who survive the competition would be on top 20 list in coinmarketcap. Once regulation is implemented there are many tokens and altcoin that will die in an instant. Those who will survive is the one who have a real product and comply with the regulation.

The competition in the Altcoin market is a rival for growth. In my opinion, some of Altcoin's outstanding features, technologies, communities, values and exchanges are: LTC, ETH, XRP, NEO, ADA, DASH, EOS ... These names are completely changeable, change at any time. This change depends on the competition of the Altcoin.

The old topic but at now, when the market is rising up, I think altcoins in the future will be bad because of the non-potential altcoins. Altcoins will survive if the bad altcoins must have to be deindexed. And I hope that the next year, the exchange floors will reject the bad altcoins and only good altcoins can survive.

Altcoin that will survive and have a stable price is an altcoin that has a good level of public trust. Usually the coin is ranked in the top 10 in the coinmarketcap. For those of you who are beginners, investing in coins that already have a good reputation is a top choice, it can avoid your risk of experiencing large losses.

There are still a number of altcoins that will remain in the crypto currency market, especially the altcoin, which is the top ten coins in the crypto currency market. But what will last the strongest on the market is ethereum. In my opinion, ethereum is very potential and has high resilience to face a very volatile market situation. Ethereum is very strong to survive because ethereum is supported by effective and useful technology. The biggest real benefit of ethereum in terms of providing its blockchain platform is that it makes it easy for ICOs who want to run projects by hitching on the ethereum blockchain platform. This attraction makes ethereum stronger because its technology is needed and proven to facilitate human work. The point is you have to buy coins that have innovative technology. Do not buy coins that do not have technological clarity because they tend to be selected by nature.

We should be treating crypto in the same way as other startup businesses and the simple facts are that most new start companies will fail to make it past the first 12 months. I would suggest that those with the best chance of survival at the moment are those occupying the top 50 positions in market cap and any of the recent ICO that have actually spent time developing their platform and it has real-world application.

One of the worst predictions is that, except for bitcoin, all altcoins will die. This is not impossible. At present, altcoins does not create much value. If it is only used as a means of payment, then bitcoin is enough.
All altcoins have a common feature, that is, their price will always follow Bitcoin, which means that they have no real value.

I did not do my own research, I was interested in the link https://www.investinblockchain.com/cryptocurrencies-survive-altcoin-apocalypse/ which discussed according to the theme in this thread, taking this as a learning and not a guide.

Here are a few key features to look at when picking projects that will survive the bear run:

- Strong community
- Actual product with a product-market fit
- Elite team
- Fully capitalized (many projects will be decimated because their treasury was stored as ETH. ETH is down 60-80% since many 2017 ICOs)
- Old projects that are still relevant
- Projects supported by China which, in case you haven’t noticed, is becoming the next technological world leader

The most important coins may not have been released yet. Many altcoins will disappear, but even more will appear on the crypto market. Stiff competition will make good coins survive and grow actively in the near future. But there is no guarantee that these coins can work for a very long time. Ethereum will of course be very long - because too much crypto is tied to its platform.

I believe that the most promising and best coins that can actually make a profit for any investor are not the moments that millions of people know, such as Bitcoin or Ethereum. The most promising will be those coins about which very few people know now, for example, I really like the Etheera project as an investment asset, its ETA token shows itself very well even in such a falling market.

hey all, new to this forum, was wondering which alts do people think will survive? Which ones will gain traction when this crypto winter ends? Which ones have a use that will be taken up by the mainstream? Thanks

I am fully confident that many good altcoins will surely survive in the future. You just need to carefully select the appropriate cryptocurrency to reduce the risks. I now continue to regularly invest in the purchase of Eth, NEO, Ripple and Waves, they will definitely develop in the future.

We can only guess which altcoins will survive and which will not, however, we can also help to stay afloat this or that coin, so the project remains alive, if we all start selling coins, then a deplorable result is inevitable.

ETH is the one struggling the most. But right now, EOS is doing well and chances are high this will thrive in the market too.
I disagree with your point of view, EOS is not as good as Ethereum. The base chain of the future may depreciate sharply, coins will appreciate, and many mainstream coins will disappear. The market is usually cruel, you can look at the cryptocurrency market in 2014, and now many project coins have disappeared.

in my opinion this altcoin that can withstand crypto winter is the top 10 altcoins registered in CMC. The 10 coins have long been in the crypto market. and also has a large and well-known capitalization. investing in 10 coins has a lower risk of loss than investing in new coins. and of those 10 coins I will last a long time in my opinion are XRP and EOS. both have sophisticated technology and I am optimistic that in the future this coin will grow.

Welcome to the crypto world. When I was introduced to the market some one and a half years ago, I was naive about cryptocurrency and had no idea about which coins would survive or reach the moon. Now I want to give you some genuine tips about picking good coins. You should research yourself, consult with friends and crypto experts, read news surrounding cryptocurrency. And take your decision at the end. You should begin with a small investment to begin with.

altcoin still exists, in my opinion, they will soon collapse in 2019, if any longer hold the longer the loss and failure, so do not expect this market anymore.

Survive means? If you want to make profit out of your investment, you should need a coin you have invested in to increase in prices, but not only survive. And it is almost impossible to predict which coin will increase in prices over the time. I think, ripple, stellar, ethereum, EOS, bitcoin are predicted to survive and increase in prices in the future.

There is no doubt that when the market begins to fall, the price controller can always survive, but for the cryptocurrency, I think only the top 10 can survive!

Alt coins actually do eventually die off. It has happened many times in the past. Usually happens when a bug is discovered, the coin gets delisted from major exchanges and then only trades on small exchanges. Then it hits 1 SAT per coin and its essentially dead at that point.

I think the ones that will survive long term are ETH, LTC, XMR, and maybe XRP since its been around for a long time. Coins like Doge I am sceptical about their future. Since their entire premise was a meme.

Despite the problems of the market and the excitement of many investors, now there is a great opportunity for profitable investments in the purchase of various altcoins. After all, many reliable cryptocurrencies will certainly be able to survive and develop in the future. Ethereum, Waves and Monero are such examples for me now.

I am sure that those coins that will be great in the future have not been issued yet. Of those that exist on the market, those coins that have their own blockchain will survive. And those that may have a high and stable demand for their product or service in the real life of mankind.

I am absolutely convinced that good altcoins will eventually survive and will develop. Of course, not all coins will survive. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully select suitable cryptocurrencies to minimize my risks - I personally prefer to work with LTC, Ripple, Ethereum and NEO.

Those projects whose teams will create highly demanded products will survive. These products should become very popular in the world. But it is also important that teams properly manage the funds received at the ICO. Alas, but many teams have bad business plans.

right
the problem is that quite a number of projects create products that are only concerned with their profits and I think a project like that obviously won't last long
of course if a very useful product will get natural demand from the community, and will still be able to survive

The coins that will be surviving are going to be the likes of bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin and neo. They are the kind of coins that everybody in the market right now should have some kind of investment in since you cannot go wrong with the best coins in the market. It is also best to keep your options open so you are going to want to invest into multiple coins at the same time

Regarding to the condition of the market right now., I think those that have the good market progress, great team control, and also interesting concepts of the crypto will be successful. Now, many coins and ICOs are failed because they have some lacks. And the investors or token holders need the certain things that must attract them to make the coins stay in the market as well.

It is difficult to say which coins will survive in 2019, it all depends on which way the development of the blockchain will go and what will come to replace ICO. One thing I can say for sure is that the coins from the top 100 will remain almost unchanged.

I cannot determine one by one / But if you want to take the safe investment, the safe coins to survive are those that are in the top lists of coinmarket cap. However, if you are talking about the new coins from ICO, I think that the coins or tokens with the great team and excellent concept will survive.

indeed only projects that have good development and promising prospects for the future that can withstand current market conditions, I also agree with you that altcoins that have the potential to survive and have a good future are ethereum, ethereum is a potential coin and popular, now investors have started to invest again in ethereum, plus there will be a hardfork from ethereum which automatically triggers to immediately buy ethereum

This encrypted winter is long, and I believe most people and altcoins will leave, and only those who remain faithful to the Bitcoin and insist on digging are likely to stay until spring.
Yes, a lot of altcoins are completely worthless, they are just diluting the value of bitcoin. I think that only investors who buy bitcoin without worrying about the short-term market can win the future. The death of the altcoin has already appeared, and many coins have not followed the bitcoin rebound!

I honestly think that only cryptocurrency that are really active in marketing, development, and aiming to deliver good product for investors and future investors will survive the market. Some hype ICOs and cryptocurrency die too soon in crypto sphere. There are over thousands of new altcoins and more and more are coming. So, the market competition is getting too tight. Developers must come up with something innovative to be able to gain investors' trust.

BitBay (BAY) will easily survive. It has been around for 5 years now, and is not going anywhere.

They're about to release a new democratic feature that reduces volatility. That, in combo with their fully functional decentralized marketplace will gain some serious traction here in 2019.
