SWAP to ColossusCoins V2 (CV2) CLOSED

The swap has finally ended on 26th of January , 2016.

This was the last day and final date of the swap over.
The cut-off for the swap to the new coin has finished on 26th of January , 2016 and follow-up it will take a further 1 month to process any outstanding payments.

No more old ColossusCoinV1 COL will be accepted.

We will announce final numbers of swap details of unclaimed coins in the next few days.

About Proof of Stake
All coins in the Colossuscoin network collect coin age. Your stake is calculated from this coinage, measured by last transaction,
and multiplied with the amount of coin (time * coins). When you keep coins for 15 days minimum age, they are old enough to
start the minting process and you can mint 0.5% of your input. If you transfer coins into your Colossuscoin Wallet, it will also
take at least the minimum age of 15 days for them to produce Stake. The maximum age a coin can have is 30 days, after this
the coin does not age further. When a block is minted, your new coins will be unspendable for a period of 70 blocks.
Once your CPU computes the Stake it will release it out of Stake and you will gain Interest on that full amount. You can check
your stake amount with command line getinfo (help>debug window>console).
To put it in a nutshell--> Colossuscoin Stake Age: 15 Min Days /30 Max Days/ 0.5% Staking-Reward.

Thanks for this. I recommend it be placed prominently on in the first post. People failing to see this could lead to quick disinterest. I know it is on page one, but people have come to expect this in the heading post and may just skip over this coin otherwise. Just my two cents.

Since Cryptsy has put the deactivation message it has caused a deep sell off of all shares and essentially cut all potential funding to fix the problem with the wallet. It will take a fair bit of time now for the Development Team to raise the funds necessary to resolve the wallet issues.

We have been doing less posting lately and alot more work on finishing a full redesign of the website and have begun work on another redesign of the forum layout and board navigation and have also been putting together a redesign of the IPO paper. The Colossuscoin Forum Improvement Project

OK so I have built a new and improved set of Colossuscoin Forums complete with viewing rights and permissions!

If I were to try to explain to Sudo how I think the forums should be set up it would take me forever to explain it all so the easiest way is to recreate the entire forums, muhahahaha

I have not bothered setting up a domain name or graphic design for these forums as they are specifically for board navigation and layout, and user and board visability and posting rights. This is an open source forum so Development Team members can have access to Admin rights to make all changes. If you want to change something but not sure how to do it I can help too.

As a guest you can post in the guest section without logging in and cannot see the regular access development and marketing sections, Introduction, accepted and denied applications, or archived messages.

Only guests can see the "register now" board link

If you are registered you are a newbie to start and until you have a post count of 5 or higher, you cannot post in the general discussion or marketing and development sections, and posting in the guest section does not count to your post total. This is to limit people from signing up and just posting whatever they need in any section such as wallet issues in the general discussion and project sections.

At 10 posts you become a Jr Member and can now post in the application section.

As you post more, you gain more posting rights, use of avatars, polls etc.

Members and Development Team have larger sections then currently and the boards seem larger because all the child boards from General Discussion are split up and all the local child boards are now part of their own sections.

You can view how the boards look from each users point of view

Guys, engage Redesign is nice, but I kept on Kryptsy coins have about two months and it is impossible to send them either to himself in the local purse which normally is not synchronized to any other exchange! They just do not reach! Can still do better to coin purse could move normally and that they are of little use

You are the wrong one to be trying to help get people's coins back since all you seem to do is try to spread FUD.

YOU are stopping these people from getting their coins back by continually posting crap all over our threads and hampering our progress. Only way to get lost coins back is by creating a new coin and we need funds to do it, you seem to think we own billions of coins, we do not and so need the IPO to do it.

The fact is that I don't need Colossuscoin to create my coin, I could break all ties and do it on my own for far cheaper and code the majority of it myself and not do the Col client, swap or lost coins and make far more money myself but I would rather see success of the current project.

If Sudo and I are not here doing this and in the way we are doing it, it means someone has to spend 5-7k USD out of their own pocket, and that is just swapping for a clone in order to recover the coins.

You don't understand the logistics, planning and costs associated with what you want so unless you have something constructive to add, I suggest you post elsewhere or YOU give them YOUR coins because it's no different who pays out of their own pocket and since I received 1 million Col for 5 months of work, you are in a much better position to do it than I am.

If we are working with an inflated amount of Coins, the swap would likely have to be done off the exchanges so it would just be as normal, just have the extra option to swap for a better designed coin.

He has only offered help and advice to me without asking for anything and has never done any intentional damage to any of the coins he's created. He doesn't really know Proof of Stake code that well and just slaps things together so it's not good to just rely on him, if you can get over the fact that he might call you fucktard once in a while, he has alot of useful experience to share.

It's nice to see coins with a professional team behind them, like this one. It's even better when the team and original coder have a strong moral background and high level of expertise.

Wasn't it muddafudda who started that thread threatening to kill other coins due to their shitty nature? So the coin he made broke down due to his untested, slapped-together, code, and he's not responsible?

Muddafudda isn't part of the Development Team and we have no involvement nor can stop him from whatever he decides to post or do. Well once you make a coin it's relatively easy to clone, I would rather just leave it all in the past and move on. I haven't been ignoring KaiDev and Tz about their coins being stuck unconfirmed. I helped Tz with getting his wallet fully synced to see if that would be able to help but no dice. Even if I wanted to I don't have enough myself to give him coins out of my own pocket, I own about 2-3 million Col right now as I had to sell what I had to cover moving expenses to a place closer to my work.

I hope you can see why I get frustrated at times, I don't mean to take it out on anyone..

Rather than trying to fix this coin, why not just make a new coin, premine it, and let people swap their coins over? Instead of 500 billions of coins, use a reasonable number, 1 billion or less. 500 colossus would be equal to 1 of the new coin.

Use a different name and break away from the past history of this coin, as obviously it didn't have the best start. It's not like you are trying to fix litecoin or doge or a coin where the name currently means anything.

The costs in doing that would be exactly the same but would also would have to rebrand everything and everyone would lose their previous work. It would also add the problem that people would think they are getting less even if it's the same proportion and looks like we are just shutting up shop.

A higher float also creates better price stability unless it's in the trillions in which it forever trades at 1 litoshi such as Cent, which is hardly an example since it had a crazy POS inflation (somewhere in the multi-trillions but I never did find out exactly what the float was)

Past doesn't really bother me, atleast it's an interesting story.

I think most people would realize the value relationship if you started a new coin with a normal max level. It'd trade in satoshis vs latoshis, for starters.

Higher max may equal better price stability, but it also means it will probably stabilize around 2-5 latoshis.

There isn't too much I can do myself, my coding skills are very limited and trying to make the necessary changes myself would take atleast a month or more, my strengths are forums and forum management. I have been talking to more experienced coders and will help where I can.

How to quickly sync your wallet with a QT client

Step 1

Download the most up to date Client, and latest copy of the Blockchain and Colossuscoin.conf file

Step 2

Go to your Download folder in your computer, right click on Col 1.5.2.rar and extract the files to a folder in which you can find.

Step 3

Open your ColossusCoin-qt.exe file for the first time, wait until it opens and then close the client, this will automatically create your roaming files for you. (Ignore this step if you already have had a client but wish to update or sync quicker).

Step 4

Go to your Colossuscoin folder which is found in User/Appdata/Roaming/Colossuscoin and delete everything in the folder except your wallet.dat Your wallet.dat contains your private keys, if you delete that you will permanently lose your coins so please make a backup of it before deleting anything.

Step 5

Go back to the folder in where you downloaded the files in Step 1, right click on the Blockchain file and extract the files to your Appdata/Roaming/Colossuscoin folder. Right click on Colossuscoin.conf file, copy it and paste it into the Appdata/Roaming/Colossuscoin folder as well. Your Colossuscoin Folder should now contain all the files you need.

Step 6

Open your ColossusCoin-qt.exe client and let your client fully sync. If you have coins available to Stake, they will Stake once your client is fully Synced and you can leave it open until they are fully confirmed (which is 70 confirmations on the network)

Step 7 *optional*

If you would like to check your wallet for coins that may not be showing up in your wallet, click on "Help", "Debug Window" and click on the Console tab.

Type Checkwallet to check for any coins that may be missing and should say "wallet check passed" : true

If it returns "Mismatched Coins" Type Repairwallet and it will fix your balance.

Then close your client and leave it closed for some time. At least a few hours. This will give any bans you may have received from being on the bad fork time to expire

If you have a backup of your wallet.dat then go ahead and delete everything in your appdata/roaming/CoinName folder

Then restart the wallet and let it download the chain until synced

Once synced run the command importprivkey followed by your private key

This is a method I found myself. It removes all the transactions from the wallet and when its imported it can only find whats in the blockchain. So the coins you sent are no longer sent and should be in your wallet.

Please try this..

- backup the old wallet and delete the contents of the COL folder.. save the .conf.
- clear/ delete every windows firewall COL entry, reboot, then manually add it before its time to download the blockchain
- wait for the blockchain to sync up before swapping the wallets

the wallet mac version seems to have problems, after downloading the blockchain and config file as described, synched up to April and then for 2 days did not progress more than two weeks and now not even starting..

Hi, I am working on solving the problem through creation of a custom made Proof of Stake coin to replace Col1.0

Through creation I can better learn what is needed to be changed in Col1.0 to allow for normal withdrawal operation and so can more confidently release a working patch.

Creation of Col2.0 is part of a process to actively pull all coins off the exchanges and into active wallets over a set period. This would be achieved providing a coin swap over a given period off the exchanges. The ADT swap although convenient, neglects the problem of a large majority of coins being left on the exchanges which interrupts the staking and security process.

I am getting Col2.0 built along with the help of all holders, past and present and anyone that wants to be a part of it. There will be approximately 25% more coins created through this process, These coins will be used in part for the costs of the change and future projects.

The problems are that it was originally coded fairly poorly and no one wants to be the one to foot the bill on getting it fixed because if you can do that then you can just create your own coin and don't need to bother with the hassle. Part of Colossuscoin2.0 will be a revamp to the fees so every fee charged pays out over 10k blocks rather than into the next block which will allow us the option of sending 50% of the float as a TX fee and have it pay out to stakers based on the amount of coins they own.

We are working with the entire float plus 25% more coins on top of it because we need to assume a 100% swap and still have a fair bit left over for future funding.

How will Colossuscoin2.0 be different from Colossuscoin 1.0?

Fees will be charged as a percentage of the transaction rather than a flat rate and pay out over 10k blocks

Part of the fees pay to the Development Fund

Staking times reduced to 7-15 days

Float reduced by a factor of 100

Block time increased to 1 minute to reduce orphan transactions and blockchain bloat

money supply will increase at a fixed rate per year regardless of staking participation so active stakers receive all the coins from people who are not staking.

coin control so people can better manage their coin block sizes

basic multi-signature transactions so we can secure the Development Fund over the Development Team rather than one person holding a large portion of coins.

I think the best way to handle working with all the coins such as this is through multi-signature addresses so it requires the combined effort of the most trusted members to be used and then we can expand on that into a more refined voting system.

No, a patch for normal operation of withdrawls from the exchanges will be made available and you would have to swap your coins off the exchanges.

If swapping directly with the exchanges it leaves the problem of the exchanges holding a large portion of the coins and receiving all the stake interest that should be going to the holders. It is a bad idea to hold all of your coins on an exchange because one hacker can steal 30% of the coins as in vericoins case or can simply halt all withdrawls and hold everyones coins. A better option will be use of Virtual Private Servers to host wallets and so for $5 a month a person can set up their own wallet in the cloud with the same security as an exchange (most cloud servers make use of multi-authentication) and will always have your wallet stake and available anywhere.

We have been working very hard on a full rebuild of the entire structure and hope that everyone will be pleased with our work. I have had the pleasure of working along side the Colussuscoin Team since the beginning of the year and we have built a solid group of committed and creative people. Just having a fantastic Community is half the battle, building stable and long-term growth is our number one priority and although everyone may not agree with our approach, we have discussed all aspects and are confident we are heading in the right direction.

The Development Team is the base group of long-term holders and people actively interested in the project, the only pre-requisite is creativity and a positive attitude. Whether you have 1 coin or 10 billion coins has no bearing and no one really knows exactly how much each person holds and has no knowledge of personal information other than what they choose to share.

The aim of the Development Team assumes that long-term holders would want to be a part of the team and allows for the level of anonymity that each person is comfortable with and that trust is built over time. A large group of long-term active holders would want to only do things that benefit everyone because people become friends over time and would not want to disadvantage each other.

The approach to the forums is based upon working with a number of large gaming clans over the years and has become a 3 tier level of security that is constantly changing and improving. The base is a standard member and most everything is viewable publically, the next level up is a full member with their own sections and exists as a middle ground where people can be added and can be less secure. The Development Team can only be added or removed by Sudo by recommendations from other members and provides a place to store more sensitive topics and information, it also takes into account that all information contained in the Development Team section could be released at any time and would only validate how discussion has progressed into a final product.

Sorry for the late reply, I wasn't sure how to answer your question when you wrote it, my coder has recently been hospitalized and haven't heard from him in a little over a week and a half.

My own knowledge and abilities are expanding and so I have coded changes to Colossuscoin2.0 to include coin control, fast index, DNS seeding, images and icons and currently getting the Windows QT compiled so we can go through and test some more.

Before release of Col2.0 we will also need to go through the fee minimums, percentage fees, % of Stake to the Development Fund and further code optimization.

I could also include things like anonymous messaging, IRC, and anonymous sending but my goal here is to eliminate as much potential bloat as possible and IMO it would be better to experiment with sidechains to include the extra features to connect to each other so the extra memory that these things cause can be pruned without affecting peoples personal coins.

To those who have been waiting on this for some time, I am working on this in all the spare time I have. I also work full time and allows me disposable income to help move things along a bit quicker. The reason it's taking so much time is that it's more or less me making all these changes and when it comes to working with independent coders, many can clone and compile clients but do not understand the effects of the changes.

My goal with Colossuscoin2.0 is fairly simple, create a true Decentralized Corporation which will always provide funding for future advancements without having to rely on donations and is always beneficial to hold long-term. I hope you all of you reading this will keep following our progress in our endeavor.

Yes, I have recently been looking for some help with coding for Col 2.0 along with gathering of support and donations in order to help create the final product. Right now I think Sudo is best to hold onto the Coins for me and if anything it will help him with the costs of hosting the websites.

Today is also my 30th Birthday and I will be away from Nov 10th-20th as I am heading to Las Vegas so I will be available only periodically during this time, so will try to get as much done as I can before then.

What do you have for some ideas for Col2.0?

The message of the checkpoint being too old is just a part the code that triggers a message if a checkpoint is older than 3 months. I have been looking over the code to see what improvements we can make and also am working on the ColossusCoin2.0 implementation. We need to get some more active wallets and nodes going that can connect to the highest chain, then we can set in some new checkpoints and possibly a hardfork depending on what people want and who we can get to help with it.

I could use help with all the Coding stuff and have been trying to get in contact with people that may be able to help. If you know of anyone that wants to donate their time to helping getting everything in order, direct them here.

That would depend on Cryptsy, it cannot be a 1:1 swap since the old ColossusCoin has a 313 Billion Float and ColossusCoin2 will start with a float of 19.1 Billion but will aim to swap at 20:1 with a reserve of 25% of the float in order to provide income for development and services.

The lower Float amount was chosen in order to make it directly tradable against BTC at the low end of 1-10 Satoshi so that it creates stronger buy and sell walls.

Sorry, I don't get it. What it means "will have to swap directly with Cryptsy"? I have carefully read your announcement about the ColossusCoin2, and had an impression that all old COL coins are going to be exchanged by a special "- Swapover (reverse 1-for-20 coin split)" program to the new ones in a guaranteed 1:20 rate. You have put a big premine on ColossusV2 specially to give ColossusV1 owners a way to change their coins, isn't it?

This is from the ColossusV2 OP:
"We will have an automated program in place in which you send your old coins from the old wallet and will recieve the new coins to the new wallet. "

Did I miss something...? Are you are going to swap V1 coins to V2 for everybody except Cryptsy coin owners? Whats the difference if I keep my coins on Cryptsy or in local wallet? Are coins at Cryptsy somewhat "dirty", not good enough, or what..?

The ColossusCoinv1 Coins off the exchange will be traded directly in that way. The Cryptsy markets are disabled for deposits and withdrawals so at the very least it makes provisions for those that don't have the ability to trade.

Hi! i dont undestand why I need to change rpcuser and rpcpassword and what data do I need to write in? Maybe that's why I have not synchronized the client with 1 active connection?
My wallet is empty, all my Colossuscoin on Cryptsy. Maybe I don't need their output and the exchange itself will replace my coins on Col v2?

What would you suggest is the best way to do this yet still have room to invest in the infrastructure?

The issue with that is the built-in messaging on the Blockchain with Col1.52 and a host of other bugs that make it extremely difficult to outright fix. The best way IMO is to swap all the Coins that are off the exchange first, manually and do a direct swap with Cryptsy.

How about making 3 steps through the time:
-removing all staking from blockchain
-making Colossuscoin compatibile with latest Litecoin
-making Colossuscoin compatible with Netcoin (to have both mining and staking)?

I don't know if it is hard to remove all staking from blockchain.

Can I just delete the rpcuser and rpcpassword and use the conf file without them? I just used addnodes for other coin's conf files and they synced alright. Why do we need an rpcuser and rpcpassword in the conf?

For security reasons it's absolutely recommended to change your rpcuser password after downloading any [CRYPTOCOIN].conf file

This possibly opens your wallet to having coins stolen from it by other software running on your local network, computer, or even by websites you visit in your browser by a XSS-style attack!
Go to your data folder: C:\Users[your windows log-in name]\AppData\Roaming\Colossuscoin
In your colossuscoin.conf file you will have a line like this if you've downloaded the file:

rpcpassword=**yourpassword** / rpcpassword=1028

Just change the **yourpassword**/ 1028 to a long string of random numbers and letters! You don't have to remember this password so make it long and impossible to remember. Then, restart your wallet.

Do not send your wallet.dat file or colossuscoin folder to anyone.
Always encrypt your wallet! You should use a strong password longer than 15 characters.
This password should contain numbers, symbols, and some capitalization!

It seems almost impossible to download whole blockchain no matter from where I start syncing (from the beginning, or from some of the downloaded blockchains).

I think Colossuscoin is by source code the closest related to the Bottlecaps coin and it should be updated on the same way as Bottlecaps is.

Otherwise, for many people including me it will not be possible to send coins and participate in Colossuscoin version 2.

Any solutions for this problem?

Several Coins such as CamorraCoin and SmartCoin have done manual swaps so it wouldn't be an impossible task and the CamorraCoin Developers have been very willing to help us with it all, even for nothing other than the recognition that they are serious about working in the Crypto community and working alongside other communities.

If you can also help identify the specific issues causing the problem, I can help introduce the fix but I am not sure if it is one or multiple problems causing the issues. I have provided the best code possible for ColossusCoin2 with a lot of testing but I am still learning and progressing myself so I want people to understand that I don't know everything and for the most part, neither does anyone else.

Let me know your thoughts, I am open to all suggestions.

There is a certain amount of time (a deadline) for swapping your ColossusCoin (COL) to ColossusCoin2.0 (CV2):

After 3 month and whatever is left over is redistributed through POS
Once the swap is over, the remaining is distributed through staking as fees so that each person gets additional coins in relation to how much they own.

By swapping off the exchanges, all holders must have a Colossuscoin2.0 wallet and have been active within the swap period. The Coins within peoples wallets creating a much larger network of nodes. By destroying the Col1.0 coins being swapped over, we are directly reducing the amount of coins in circulation. In return for swapping over you would receive a portion of coins that do not swap over.

Note: In order to swap over your coins, you must have your own ColossusCoin2.0 wallet.

Colossuscoins are ‘stored’ in something called colossuscoin addresses - they look something like this: 26sujaFM9YUMLk87pXYu3W5FZJZwLaFuEn. How to import and export private keys from the Colossuscoin client

Be extremely careful when importing or transferring private keys. You could loose all your coins if this is done improperly. Private keys should be imported only from self-generated addresses.

How to import a private key
Step 1. Open the RPC console in the Colossuscoin client
Click on Help, open the Debug Window and switch to the Console tab.

Step 2. Unlock your wallet
If your Colossuscoin wallet is not encrypted (which is highly unadvised, please encrypt it now!) you can skip this step.

To unlock your wallet you need to type the following in the RPC console:

Change MyPassword to your wallet passphrase and change 60 to the number of seconds that you want the wallet to be unlocked. After that time the wallet will be locked automatically. Make sure to unlock the wallet long enough to do the next and final step.

Step 3. Import the private key
Type into the RPC console:

Change MyPrivateKey to your private key and for Label you can enter a name/description/label for the key (optional). The importing takes a few minutes depending on your CPU power. How to export a private key

Exporting a private key follows the same steps as above for importing a private key. For step three, instead type

So thats why the Colossuscoin/V2 team have decided to build a new blockchain (Colossuscoin2) and do a full swap for a new Blockchain (20:1 Colossuscoin-Colossucoin2.0 ratio). The ColossusCoin2.0 Blockchain is already running smoothly, very well and the ColossusCoin/V2 Development Team focus on improving the working CV2 blockchain.

Can't say I can continue to support this coin if that's the case. How do I know my saved ColossusCoin2 coins wouldn't be worthless in the future? I thought the point of blockchain currencies was immutability
