What will become of Bitcoin if the price keeps falling?

The price is not falling. Look back last 3 months, all the altcoins went down but the Bitcoin has stayed strong and powerfull. So the price not falling in opposite way it is rising you will see. I would recommend you to buy or collect more bitcoin and you won't be regret.

IMO people do care way too much about the short term price.

If you are using bitcoin as a speculative investment or tools for trading, you might care about the price.. but that's not the intention of bitcoin.

If you are holding bitcoin because of the value you think it has, and if nothing fundamental changes.. what is then the reason to panic because of a decline in price ?
In the long term bitcoin will establish as a means of payment. Especially with all changes happening (schnorr, LN, .. ).

A decline in price would be just short term. The long term outlook is still very positive.

I think that price of bitcoin had experienced a huge dip but I would say it is not falling behind. The only thing I had observed is that the down trend took longer time to revert back to the up trend mode. However, this fluctuations are just normal in the crypto market and for this year, the percentage of the down trend market had been higher than the up trend market. Moreover, bitcoin is now in the process of stabilization to gain more momentum for the next possible bullish run.

If you observe things will you'll see that Bitcoin price is not falling continues, there are time wherein the price pump also, but some of us miss that timing because we are on work or doing important things...

I think bitcoin now is rising and not falling, because it reached 7k mark yesterday and i really believe that history will repeat itself and bitcoin price will skyrocket when the ber months hits.

Well some of the holders of bitcoin are feeling nervous right now because of the big drop of its value. We dont know if it will continue to fall, but one thing is for sure, it will never die, it will rise again like in the past year. We just need to wait until the price comes back again.

You are comparing Bitcoin price from ATH of last year but what about comparing from last year starting price then still Bitcoin price is very high. when same last year the bitcoin price was $1000+ and now it is nearby $7000 so think that it is still high.

The different is between watching the price and comparing it between what price you see.

Bitcoin never keeps fall because many peoples thinking bitcoin will touch $2K but this scenario never happen now bitcoin price is more than August 2017  most of investors is in panic situation but altcoins is down and bitcoin is stable between $6k to $6.5k. if we see second scenario and bitcoin will fall for $10 price than crypto currency future will be collapse but i think this never happen because bitcoin is most valuable crypto currency & lower supply make it valuable.

since price is not falling now, and more importantly since bitcoin price is not falling in long term then your question is pointless. last year price was $1000 and now it is nearly $7000, 2 years ago it was $600 and before that it was $100 so it is rising.

all that price talk aside, bitcoin is a currency and as a currency  it shines a lot more when its price is stable like nowadays. although this stability won't last long and the big rises will start soon.

The price of a coin never keeps going in the same direction for a long term. So do not worry mate. BTC will not completely drown in the long run.
It's the short term that most people look into. Yes BTC has been falling since the beginning of the year but do notice that there a little spikes every now and then. Also, BTC has increases damn a lot from the beginning of 2010 and we can never expect how far the price will go in the next few years.

The price dropped since the end of last year, it seems hard to increase again. However, if we compare with last tree months, it is better now because Bitcoin and all Altcoins are going to raise the value.

Last year we saw similar dump. The prices keeps on falling but some or the other time the prices will come back to normal and start rising. I am 100% sure that several big investors are waiting for bitcoins to reach the bottom so that they can put everything into bitcoins at a very low price and then HODL for profits ahead. This is a very old strategy i guess now and even i am now waiting for bitcoins to reach the bottom so that i can purchase bitcoins at the minimum price. The demand will again rise once the price is much low and that will than move for the price pump again. Several peoples might have good profits hodling bitcoins for a long time.

Bitcoin is a decentralized virtual currency whose major feature is high volatility, so its price swing is expected.

Experiencing for a long period of downfall are doesn't mean that it will continuously like that because if we have a more study about it's movements we can recognized that in every downtrend there will be the upcoming pumps that happen so meaning to say that it won't be keep falling for it's long time existence in the cryptomarket. Yes that is right to say, but I think that we are not expecting any further decrease in bitcoin price.  In fact now its look like that the ull run as started and hope that very soon the price is expected to reach to the moon. We just need to wait for some more time and hope we will get a very good reward.

I stongly disagree with your opinion about if it keeps falling, I think it would only be a matter of time regardless of how deep it falls, It most definitely would always come back up after all weak hands are cleaned from the market

Just be calm. Bitcoin is curently raise up again but so slow. So you just have to wait patiently. You can hold it the price now and soon you can sell it and can get a big profit

I agree. For the short term, I see a tendency for lower highs. It was near 10k some months ago, then the high dropped to 9, 8, and now 7k. This is standard in bear markets, and the fact that we are still having it, means this will take longer than we think. So, its no use to care for the short term. Bitcoin was tamed by TPTB and the road ahead will be harder than we thought.

I think it doesn't matter if the price decline continues, the price is indeed fluctuating, the increase will also occur and I don't think panic if this decline continues, even a good situation to buy coins at low prices and start long-term investment to wait until the increase occurs

If the bitcoin price keeps falling means people who knows well about crypto market would surely use this chance to buy more bitcoin for future. But doesn't know about crypto market get panic about the price keeps falling and ready to sell their bitcoin. But this is not good only long time holding will give more profits than short time. The price of bitcoins can rise or fall and if it keeps falling the only effect is the loss of confidence in holding bitcoins hence many traders will be forced to sell at a lower price than bought for and hence keep the price falling further.

If bitcoin is falling the market will become weak and people are panicking also, and IMO this is the best time for you to enter the market when everyone is afraid of losing money. Expect a lot cheaper price if this trend continues and you have to play on the safe side whether to hold, or to hold more bitcoin. As what you said, people would lose confidence and many would let go of their coins and sell it even though they lost more than half of the value of it. As for others who believes that the coins should have more value then it would be an opportunity for them to buy more at a cheaper price so that when the market turn around, it would be more profitable but then there is a risk that it would not go back up so theis investment would just be losing. Given the situation nowadays, I think it is just a temporary downfall because there are still many people who believes that it is more valuable.


Panic selling would happen but at some point, sellers would be exhausted so the price would eventually have a support and then it would be time for the buyers to appear. Instead of just waiting for the price to go back up, I think it is a good opportunity to take advantage of the fluctuations wherein we should trade so that wherever the price would go, we can still profit from it.

Apparently, for the price to keep falling, it is actually panic selling that would have erupted into that. However, panic selling will not last forever, and for one thing, a lot of investors are looking out for a very good low price anyway and that would make the market end up reversing at some point based on the demand for it. Bitcoin hasn't been falling. It went under $6000 in early February, that's 7 months ago, and hasn't gone below what it hit that day. Bitcoin is just spending the year building momentum at the bottom of the market around $6000. It's hit the bottom 4 separate times this year, that isn't falling, that is bouncing off the bottom. Sure it hasn't started moving up away from the bottom yet, but "keeps falling" doesn't even make sense when it is clear the market has firmly rejected bitcoin of less than $6000. When enough people realize that they aren't in fact gonna get bitcoin any lower we will move out of this neutral market we've been in for a while and start going up again.

I think if bitcoin continues to experience a decline it will not be long, because surely the investors are trying to raise it again by buying a lot of coins at the falling price, then the increase will definitely return, and anyway the price is still considered normal the decline is not up drastically, so don't worry about bitcoin will continue to decline

One thing with the market is that it cannot obviously continue to be in one direction all through without at least changing direction at some point.

Downtrends are normal in a market and if there is even a huge downtrend, as long as the market is still active and useful, there would still be a point in time when the whole dump thing ends up subsiding and the market will consolidate before picking back up again. So, at the short term, if the price keeps falling, it just gets more interesting to pick at a lower price and gain a lot from it in the long run.

The cost of production of bitcoin in mining costs dictates that the coin has to hold an increasing base value to keep the currency going. Should be a graduation in price from now as it's already at the baseline.

Price will not continue falling, it is falling only when its already went up. It is staying at around 6.4 thousand dollar levels no matter what, sometimes it goes up to 7 thousand dollar levels and even reached 8 thousand dollar levels once but in the end it goes down to 6.4 thousand dollars which means it is not going down it is just self correcting itself with the market, I think we should not consider that as a "drop" because it was already there.

The falling would be considered if bitcoin goes as low as under 6 thousand dollar levels, if it goes under that than I will agree that the price went down, without going anything further than this I say its expected.

Yeah you are right because bitcoin is the most popular and trusted currency of all available currencies in the market. People do not trust new ICOs because many of them are scam and they run away after collecting huge money from innocent people of the world. Therefore if the price of bitcoin fall more, I think that more and more people will put their money in it.

It is even a normal thing for the price of a market to go down at any point in time. It is a market and it is not meant to have a fixed value, most especially when it is not regulated. The decentralized nature of the market brings about its volatility and therefore makes it a market that can easily sway downward pretty fast as well as upward. The price has been more or less stable for some months now, so at least to me it seems the panic is over which is a good thing but there is not any sign that we can see that the market can begin to recover in the next months so right now we're in a very difficult position, the price is not going down but it's not going up either it is going to remain stagnant for a very long time, and in this particular circumstances it is very likely that in the next months or even years the price of bitcoin is going to fall a little bit more because people are going to get desperate and are going to sell their coins because they are not going to be willing to wait for the recovery of bitcoin anymore.

Nothing major. Bitcoin prices go down and go up that iis how the world of crypto works. There is no "keeps falling" , it will keep falling for a while, than it will stop, than it will stay there for a while, sometimes drop some more, in the end no matter what happens bitcoin goes up. I believe the highest will ever be is $100k so when I say it goes down but it goes up too I mean it has been like that historically and I doubt it will change right now.

It will disappear from the market if the price of bitcoin falls more. People cannot bear more falls in the price because thousands of investors bought bitcoin for much higher price than $3000.  I think that the developers and controllers should fix a minimum price for bitcoin to save the money of investors; otherwise people will dishearten and will withdraw their money from bitcoin and even from Altcoin.

In my opinion the price will never go down from $5000 because if so it will be the end of bitcoin and blockchain will never let to eliminate bitcoin from cryptocurrency list. $5000 is also very low price for bitcoin and nobody will accept except new investors. We don't really need to have one or two, some amounts can cover it specially if we both it on a higher value. Yes,it is still expensive knowing how much was it when started but many bought it in much higher price than now.

The reason why people may be skeptical about the value now is because everything is still speculative, the risk is still very high, there is not so much real life usage and everything we see today is just everybody wanting to get rich.

Moreover, in the avenue where those things like real life usage comes into play and we get to see a huge level of adoption and growth with a lot of people using the space for what it was meant for, the price most definitely would have skyrocketed by then, and at this stage, with people using, no one will really be bothered about the price being too expensive, and stages of laggard, usually resort to some level of equilibrium as demand and supply gets balanced in a way.

I guess we all saw them trying to strike a while back and then the bulls taking over again. If the price falls, believe me the smart ones will definitely take it as an opportunity to buy, and there is certainly no doubt about that.

The price has reached the bottom and it's not going to go down that much further, the only thing that you need to do is to have confidence that the price is going to recover, and unfortunately many of the people that invested in this market do not have that confidence and that is why there are selling their coins.

Dont worry about the price falling it is normally happens in the crypto market. We can do only one thing just buy bitcoin at low price and hold it for future. It isn't supposedly continue to fall. If you will just study the price history of bitcoin for the last months, or even in a past year, their is a price resistance or fall back that you called. In that matter, it is very impossible that bitcoin will gonna keeps on dumping as it will uncertainty .

Price of bitcoin will not keep falling if there are always buyers who are willing to buy. As what you observed, the market has been going up for a few days already and you would expect that others would be taking profit and some of those have bulk orders and when some people saw the big red canadle, others eventually followed to sell that's why it's going down.

This is not dropping and what is happening in market now is bubble recovering

I've never seen in bitcoin history that it keeps falling as if it will going to lose its value. What we have always see is a fluctuations in price which is brought by unstable market situation bitcoin is going through. Seems bitcoin is a crypto currency we will expect a lot of pump and dump, and it's normal. What we can do is invest when the price is low then sell when the price pump and reasonable enough to earn profit. Let's learn how to play the market and continue supporting bitcoin.

I think that will happen if the price of bitcoin continues to fall to the base price, so many will experience a lot of losses and surely there will be many people who hate bitcoin because the effect of falling bitcoin prices will have a lot of influence for traders.

 Precisely, we should not split any FUD news about bitcoin instead lifting up to engage some investor by motivating and hold the emotions not to be affected of some FUD. The pump and dump is part of a high volatility of the market. And as far as i know bitcoin price does not fall under $4k and the massive prediction is feasible to happen. There is a law that control the force of demands and supplies and that is what determines the price of every assets.  The reality is that bitcoin cannot continue to go down and likewise it cannot keep going up.  So very soon we should expect a recovering of the price.

Price of Bitcoins is always concern in this forum, I already give my opinion this multiple times. Anyway, do not worry if the price is keep falling it always has a reason and as long as we support bitcoin it will recover. Even if their has a countries that banned bitcoin still I believe to it. And I think after the down fall of bitcoin ot will raise again and I will wait for that.

The price has been relatively stable for some time now, there are obvious variations in the price but the range is very narrow, so it is unlikely that the price is going to go down that much in the next months, what we are going to see is a market that is not going to move much for the next months or even years and then all of a sudden when no one expects it bitcoin will recover and will probably surpass its all time high.

First of all, your assumption does not exist at all. Bitcoin cannot fall all the time. Bitcoin has the cost of mining, it is impossible less than mining cost too much. Secondly, the price of Bitcoin has been stable for some time. Now it is a good time to invest in Bitcoin. If you have spare cash, buy it.

I usually prefer to call it a healthy correction. Nothing goes up and won’t at some point later on come back to find a bottom and nothing comes down and wont at some point test the peak and may be even imprint new highs.

It is a normal thing to expect in a market and I can understand that the main reason why some people usually do not always expect it is because they tend to never get to understand the market wholly before even deciding to start getting involved, and in that case, it would always be a case of panicking because of a falling market instead of seeing it as a great opportunity to buy lower.

The price is a bit on the stable side because the market is trying to find a direction to pick on. It is not impossible, nothing about a market is impossible and in case you do not know, in the past, bitcoin has gone lower than mining cost before. A Google search would give you more enlightenment on that. The thing with a market is that nothing is predictable, even though we may just try to assume the best, but in reality, whatever will be will be.

If it goes lower than mining cost, simply mining will become unfavorable for some and they will bail out, while those who are big on mining get more incentives, and then we see the difficulty reduced. So, saying there is no possibility of seeing something happen is not true.

My answer is not only for Bitcoin but for all the coins.It is obvious that if the price of any coin will keep on falling then unfortunately it will be an end for that particular coin.In case of Bitcoin we have seen a lot of price drops but it has always bounced back.But if we consider that the price will not bounce back and will keep on falling then people will stop investing in it and surely some other coin will overpower bitcoin.

If it keep decreasing i am pretty sure everyone will left bitcoin because no matter how much you love bitcoin but you can't lose your money or profit.

I don't think that will happen, I'm sure the price of bitcoin and some other cryptocurrency will experience a price increase seen from the movement of cryptocurrency prices and many people who want to have cryptocurrency so that prices are difficult to always fall.

I have asked this question before but in a different way. My question was, if bitcoin prices continue to go down, will it then become an altcoin? That said, I think that lower bitcoin price means that more people will be able to afford buying it. The more people who can afford to buy bitcoins, the more people will be encouraged to join in the crypto world, right?

maybe what will happen if the bitcoin price keeps falling is bitcoin will not have any more enthusiasts and it is possible that the price of bitcoin can return to the price as it was in 2013 and the price is very cheap and certainly will make many people lose.

price is just another part of bitcoin but it has nothing to do with its underlying technology that constantly evolving for almost 10 years now, actually if trace its price from the beginning its actually increasing

if the price of bitcoin in the exchange place remains collapsed then maybe this bitcoin price will become very cheap and surely there will be many people who panic even lots of people will be depressed. I hope bitcoin prices don't fall even further.

Even i do the same i have an aim if the price goes down below 1000$ i will sell my all coin and stop investing.

For most markets, it is always something that should be expected. It is normal some times to see supply grow larger than demand based on certain perception of the market and how things are, and then in some cases, we will always get to see the possibility of seeing demand get more than supply and this is when we get to see the market move up accordingly.

I think that more and more people will buy bitcoin due to low price. Bitcoin will be there because it is not for making money but for general use in the world. People made it business for earning money. I don’t care if the price falls or rises. I want to hold my bitcoin not for making money but for buying my necessities around the globe. I want to enjoy cashless society.

Bitcoin is not a waterfall that forever moves down, but this's a market that's never separated from its original nature, namely the rise and fall of prices. I think, the prolonged decline in bitcoin prices's caused by two world-scale exchanges namely CME and CBOE Futures Exchange which trade bitcoin in the form of a futures contract. As a result, making bitcoin vulnerable to manipulation. This thing also caused the number of files Bitcoin ETF to rejected by the SEC. I think the US SEC has smelled a sign that's not good maybe they are worried if the Bitcoin ETF will be a trigger for every investor to manipulate prices by selling or buying large amounts of bitcoin during the auction that causes prices to fall. And the next day Cboe Global Markets was more flexible leaving behind Bitcoin ETF with huge profits.

maybe everyone will switch to another cryptocurrency when bitcoin prices are badly dumped. so far many coins have developed their own mainnet. but I don't know, I just hope bitcoin prices continue to rise. Different people think differently. Some say that it will disappear from the market and some argue that it will be the mainstream in the future no matter what will be the price. When all the people in the world start using their bitcoin they will not compare it with dollar or their local currency. Bitcoin will also be assumed like our regular local currency.

If bitcoin will continue to fall, i think more and more weak hands will give up and sell their bitcoin at a very low value. FUDs will spread more and more and the cryptoworld will be in great panic for those who are weak enough. But for those who are smart, they are smiling and panic buying more.

The price cannot keep on falling forever because the market do not remains down forever. There can be recovery in the market as well. If the demand rises, the price will also rise and there is already a bit of rising trend in it. Now, price is 6540 US dollar which is still low and it is stable between 6k and 7k US dollar which enables you to get it on low price and no one knows nothing about future so you just make a position by investing here.

In my view the price will not go down more than $6000 because it is its natural price. if the investment cap increase the price will raise more but there are no more investors the price would still above than $6000, because it is with the passage of time. If the price rises to $30000 today, it will collapse to $6000 again in the coming days. We should know the time space.

If the price of bitcoin falls more than $6000 that will be the end, because the mining process will stop because they already told that now mining is not profitable due to low price in the market, and when there is no mining there would be no coins in the market and gradually bitcoin will disappear from the market. Holding a specific price for bitcoin is very important for its survival.

It doesn't seem likely to me that the price is going to keep decreasing in the next months, I know that is a possibility but the chances of that are very low, what you need to concentrate is in what you are going to do when the price starts to recover, people get surprised when they see a recovery in the price of bitcoin but it is going to happen and you need to be prepared to take advantage of it when that happens.

I think that bitcoin will disappear from the market because there would be no more mining and no more supply in the market. I will never invest in bitcoin if the price drops continuously. I want the price to go up because many investors are already in loss and if the price drops more they will be completely ruined. This is the time for rising instead of falling. We should hope for a better future.

Nothing will happen to bitcoin, because Bitcoin has very strong  support at 6000$ and it's very unlikely that the price could go beyond that limit. By the way even if price went a little bit lower than we expect, it will only attract more investors, what would be good.

In this day many people assume cryptocurrency a Ponzi scheme and some say it is a bubble and will burst in the air after some time. I think that if the price drop more it will lose its popularity and authentication in the market and people will withdraw the rest of their money and will invest somewhere else. Bitcoin will not suffer much from further price fall and actualy I don't expect some biger price dip. Some users and investors vwill leave, that is true, but many will stay and also some new will come. Don't forget that Bitcoin is best on long term basis so be patient.

It seems people have the wrong notion that the price can keep decreasing and could reach zero but we know that is not going to happen, as soon as the price goes lower than 6000 people see this as an opportunity to get bitcoin, that is why the price does not last long at those levels because people take those low prices as buy signals and the price recovers because of it.

To give a visionary here, bitcoin's drastic fall can be an opportunity for everyone who wanted to purchase at smaller value for bitcoin. If this continues to fall from every moment of time I guess there's a huge problem, then possibly it will cause panic to some of the new traders. How come it will continue to keep falling if others are also waiting for a dip? Every time there is a dip, i noticed that its market value will rise again and that's because more investors prefer to buy bitcion at its low for them to get a good slice of bitcoin.

I don't think bitcoin price keeps falling. If any, the price remains stable. It's in the same price range for the last couple of weeks/months. Besides, even if the price falls people will still continue to use bitcoins, so don't worry.

The price cannot keep falling because this market was not built to behave that ways.  The will be time for collection and distribution.  The time we are now is collection and very soon we would see bitcoin recovering and start redistribution again.  I believe that we just need to keep faith with the market in other to be able to benefit from the market.

In the past two months, the price of bitcoin too long is stagnant below $ 7.000/btc. If bitcoin prices continue to fall, I think this can make some investors leave bitcoin. Usually this kind of movement pattern is considered as a sign that there will be prolonged bearishness in the next movement. But even so, we do not break up hoping to foster a spirit in us, that the price of bitcoin at any time can slide to a better position.

If the price kept falling then we will have many people getting panicked because of it, but those that are smart and see the long term potential of bitcoin will see nothing but an opportunity to make so much money that it is likely they will invest all their money in the market knowing full well that the price will likely recover in the next years and they only need to do one thing and that is to hold their coins.

Well the keyword here is "hope". For me its going to be based on the simply law of supply and demand. If people see's bitcoin as no longer profitable then the price goes go South. But if majority thinks that it is a viable investments or store of value then expect bitcoin to grow more in the future.

Well in my very own opinion if bitcoins price will keep falling then I'm really sure that all the other crypto currencies market value will also follow to fall down the drain since all this crypto currencies market values really depends on the bitcoins market value and if this continues for so long I am afraid that bitcoin will lose many investors. 

We are still doing good and the price has been stable at $6k to $6.5 range. I don't think that those whales will allow the price of bitcoin to keep falling. We need mass adoption of bitcoin to increase the demand and the trust level to the people around the world to invest in this technology.
