CryptoPayAfrica Soft release CPA

We want to thank everyone for giving us the opportunity to present our coin.
CPA (Ticker) stands for CryptoPayAfrica. Our website is up but we are still working on lots of things so don’t be too critical ;D.

Short Background

We are 3 Developers based in South Africa
We came up with the idea to make a block chain for Africa. The need for block chain education is essential in Africa and because we are Africans we thought we would take on the challenge.
Yes, we know that we did not build an entire block chain from scratch but why reinvent the wheel? Just make it better!! We used Cryptonote technology that incorporate the latest fixes and we figured if Monero can make it work we can too.

We are releasing it here on bitcointalk and it’s a soft release today. We want to give the early adopters the chance to mine some coins before we go to our 1st exchange.

We mined some coins during development 2.25% Hey!! Dev has to eat too!! 97.75% belongs to Africa and the world. We did not raise any funds with pre sales or ICO`s so we are self-funded and we have day jobs. As I stated we are 3 so we sort off crack the Whip on each other to work hard and constant.
In other words we have no desire to abandon this project and we will keep on working till the cows come home.

We will open our GIT account soon for everyone to run full nodes and earn some coins with the fees.

New to mining? go to our website you will find the webminer link on our site.

How to start - Download our windows wallet unzip with winrar.
It has a installer so just click the exe and install the files. Open the wallet wait for the blockchain to sync its quick! You will get a address once you open the wallet. You will be presented with Mnemonics (some words) keep them safe print it or something and yes spelling and order matter!! it will help restore your wallet if your PC crashes one day.

open the webminer page and paste your wallet address in there. Click start mining. And wait for some coins might take a while but it will happen.

Kudos on your project. It looks like the diff adjustment algo is quite slow to respond to changes in hashrate however. Hopefully you are not using the diff adjustment from XMR verbatim. A minor comment - the link on your webpage for the source files points to bitbucket instead of github.

Same issue here - payments on  mining not coming through. I guess no payments from the pool overall for the past ~7 hours or so. Also - are there other pools running out there?

A few strange sized payments just came through, but with 0 (zero) mixins. I think you want to keep mixins, yeah, to keep the transactions private!

You are likely already doing this, but please don't let your project fall victim to the same missteps that some other small CN projects have fallen prey to in the recent past. Github has excellent documentation on some of the issues, including a wallet attack uncovered by Arqma, and difficulty adjustment issues revealed by GRAFT. I am sure there are many others out there, not all of which may apply. Cheers.

Very good question. There will always be a need for miners to verify transactions. We introduced our web miner that can also run on a mobile phones.
Africa has large mobile market. We also introduced our self contained offline paper wallet generator.
This will help people with no access to tech able to hold coins as gift vouchers to exchange for goods if excepted by the merchant. (Still ways to go)

We don`t claim to solve world hunger.  ;D  If I can help A send B money across borders cheap without any interference in Africa i will be a happy man.

We start small but we see a larger picture so yes that is a long term goal.

If you looked at what happend with Zimbabwe`s hyper inflation - Bread price Z$10 million.
The government took peoples USD and turned them into ZIM bond notes at the banks. So people flocked to bitcoin and the exchanges hyper inflated that price locally as well.

Some wealthy people managed to protect their money by turning it into bitcoin but the lower to middle class income group had no alternatives.
We want to help our fellow people by giving them the option to use our currency as a safe unrestricted medium of payment and also offer the protection of anonymity.

We can only achieve our goal by building a strong community and get to reputable exchanges. We started marketing our project locally to varsity students and we will continue to grow the project locally and internationally.

Payments have gotten screwy again - they are moving, but in insufficient amounts to prevent accumulation of pending balances.

We will be increasing the payment frequency in about an hour. We are in the process of building a second pool.

Is there a reason why the payment issue has been cropping up? It would be good if it could be conclusively sorted out, so that folks feel confident in leaving their rigs on the pool without having to worry about payments getting jammed up.

Your payments are safe and will be pending and not lost, we have about 1 Million backlog CPA to pay out then we will be up to date.
We leaving the payments every 3 minutes from now. Seems to be better. As soon as we get a second pool up we will notify everyone. Then you can set fail over pool.

We mined it with our own mining equipment and that is the way we tested the network.
100 Million is earmarked for the project. We will put up a spreadsheet on our site soon for everyone to track.

I am keeping 20 for my work. Our other 2 devs mined 20 each.
So in total 160 Million is under our control.

Second thing, the premine is fine, its a low % from the total supply. I suggest to make your pool with a 0% or 0.5% mining fee.

Ask and you shall receive fee dropped to 1%

I am answering all the above.

1. I got feedback and they pushed the launch date till 24 Sept 2:30 pm UTC.
This is beyond our control when they launch. Its a new exchange so im sure things don`t always goes as planned.
And yes i am pissed for missing our roadmap deadline by 4 days. We were ready and told they would be open by then.

2. Discord and Telegram.
We have a discord server ready as it is long weekend over here.. We dont have someone to sit and monitor discord the entire day. We are still weighing our options on who and how we will manage it.

3. Credibility.
We are 3 weeks old as you can see we are trying our best to answer everyone concerns and question every day.
We are here to stay and and we will push on regardless what people might assume to think.

4. Marketing
We want to give the coin value hence the push for one exchange now.
Exchanges are charging up to 3 BTC to get listed these days We rather spend money developing and marketing for now.
We asked people to vote and only 20 votes was done. So as community you have to work with us to spread the word.
You cant expect to mine some coins and make a fortune the 1st day. If you help us spread the word thing will grow quicker.

Its a Sunday morning and I am answering questions. It should show you we are committed :) :) :)

I don't understand why everyone is always clamoring for exchanges. Listing too soon runs the risk of stunting a project's growth as everyone becomes obsessed with price. For a coin with 1 mining pool (unless I am mistaken there are still no others) the real focus should be on development, opening of other pools, developing use cases etc, growing the network hashrate, etc. Buyers won't magically materialize just because there is an exchange.

The fact that the project has managed to attract a few tens of miners (31, at current count) with not that much exposure is encouraging. Some more effort on bringing in new miners and establishing the use case for the coin, developing features linked to the use cases etc will pay rich dividends at a later stage once listed. It looks however like the listing is going to occur soon on a new exchange, and the end result is likely to be a sharp slowdown in progress as the price established may (my guess is, will) deter additional miners from coming on board.

Some wise words. Our thinking was that a new exchange has to grow as well and they will have to market thus also pushing the coin growth. I have close contact with the owner and he will make sure we get the necessary exposure on their new exchange.
We will have to do some research as to how and when we going to a second exchange and how it would affect what we trying to achieve.

Yes definitely more mining pools. I was hoping some community members would take up the challenge. If I own all the mining pools it will also seems that we want to control everything. That is not the case we want everyone to contribute.

Like I said its been 3 weeks we also learning the ropes. I am in two minds about discord so early in the project. I have seen many projects go up in flames because of FUD spread on those type of channels.

Go check on the block explorer
You must always make sure you include the payment ID to exchanges. That is the only way your funds can get allocated to your exchange wallet.
Safer to send 500K transactions at a time always make sure on any exchange that your funds are allocated before sending more.
I see you did a few transactions of 50K right on top of each other.
Check your transaction history in your wallet as well make sure all got send. Resync your wallet if you have issues.
If you believe its still an issue please PM me a screenshot of all the transactions you send to the exchange

I did answer you back in the post i said LOL no.... we are not based on q coin. All cryptonote based coins are based on obviously cryptonote!!
Q coin, Bytecoin, XDN and lots more. The problem is mixin size when you send such large transactions. It takes from your balance to mix the transactions that is why when you send coins it adds extra coins mixed with your balance but it gets returned to your wallet. This ensures that your transactions stays anonymous.

Like I said before we are cryptonote based. I had PM conversation with you prior and you said you would make a mining pool for our coin I dont know what has changed since then but I did send you everything you would need to open a pool.

Please stop spreading FUD its not necessary. and in any case if you are stupid enough to use your default email password when signing up for anything then it cant be helped if shit goes wrong somewhere down the line.

We will release wallet version 2 and make it pretty and fix issues that we deem necessary to be fixed.

I see. In a liquid market the prices so derived shouldn't deviate by too much, but here, there's a huge distortion. It's also not clear why there is even a CPA-USD price listed as there's been no volume for that pair according to the exchange. Likewise with DOGE. It looks like it's just taking the ask price of the top sell order and posting that.

Somewhere along the way, if traders can't see its purpose other than in trading, this will be forgotten easily.

Thank you for seeing the potential in our project. Yes we are small self funded and hard working. Currently Africa has almost no laws when it comes to crypto we are catching up with the rest of the world and potential is great for startups like ourselves.

We plan to get our coin in as many African peoples hands as possible. We did need the support of the international community to be able to get this far.
Now that we have a footprint globally we can start making our fellow Africans aware of the potential crypto holds.

The Festive seen has passed and we are hard at work again. We completed the hard fork with fixes to RPC and wallet (Increased transaction amount to 1 Million Transfer at a time)
Please stick to max transfer limits. We still have more fixes to come. We noticed some errors in block broadcasting and transaction byte size. We will fix that in a up coming release.

We want to say thank you to all the pool owners and their community for sticking with us.

Very uncommon approach to operations on the stock exchange some semi-automated and not intuitive. To me, unsophisticated, it seemed difficult and tangled. Revamping site and working on getting CPA word out. Sites and hosting is paid in full. People calling the coin dead then buying cheap for dodge. FFS people dont sell for nothing rather hold your coins.  We  are not interested in pump and dumps. I had family matters to attend to so been afk for a while.
