Since Bitcoin holding in good position but alt coins are bleeding everyday. It's look all alt coins become shit coins. I will not surprised if alt coin price become below ICO price. Lol. I was wrong that alt coins holding more profits from Bitcoin. I have more than 50% loss on alt coins. Although I am not going to sale in loss even I have to hold more than years. But I don't think so market will recover soon. There is too much negetive news about crypto currency. And it's already effects on alt coins.

However current situation but I think this is good time to invest on crypto currency. But invest only whatever you can afford loss.

None of the Alt Coins ever offered anything compelling beyond what BTC already brought to the table, and all have far less mature and far less secure block chains. Winner, Bitcoin. The once, now, and future king.

"invest only whatever you can afford loss" should be observe in whatever time of the market. Ya many altcoins are down however i have a few in my wallet that in growing and not like what you say taking a heavy impact. So i believe people still believe in crypto this is just a correction or something similar to that.

I agree if there is free money you can already go now to usdt then watch how things will be in the future. Ethereum now costs less than a year and it is a very good indicator to buy it a little bit even more so the coin is very strong and knowingly it is the top 2 for capitalization. For someone, the price of altcoin can be big now and for someone it's ideal to buy as they say each has a different wallet and opportunities in this market of crypto currencies.

There are good alts and shit alts.  The shit alts outnumber the good ones by a very large margin.  If you have a quality alt coin now is the time to double down as it's on a huge sale.  If you have a shit alt coin you gotta swap it to a quality alt to get your cash back in the next up run. 

I agree to an extent. I believe roughly 75% of the Altcoins that are in the top 30 or so will fail or not be worth more than a few Satoshi's. This needs to happen as I personally believe that the money to spread out amongst so many projects, both fake and real. I believe we need a correction.

 I also believe some Altcoins will flourish as they all have a specific function. Some give quarterly or annual dividends to holders. It will be hard to stop these!

it can really take a long time for the market to recover. but not all old coins are dead. i think there are great projects that can be used in real life. that's iota and waves too. these two tokens will be my favorites in the future. and BTC of course.

This is indeed true, if you have held on during the rise of alts and still holding until now then you are definitely at a big loss now. However, if you sell, that will be the time to actually lose. In any case, there are still some alts that are fairly doing well if you just analyze them.

Impossible it happen, you know how much bitcoin and altcoin price now but its ever be forever for bitcoin and altcoin become lower price. many stuation are faced by bitcoin with negative and bad new, but bitcoin and altcoin price keep strong and go back to higher price again.

I agree with your comment about time to invest, one have fiat now can have huge bags of any altcoins and wait for it price up.
With regard of all alt coin become shitcoin, I think that, some coins with good usages will be here to stay, the other will come and go as natural, leaving place for better one.

It's possible but those coins having fully working product will survive in this bearish market. that's they key to protect the price because so many altcoins worth nothing right now caused by they can't even create a working product to be used by our new comers or even investors nor traders. it takes a lot of time to recover the latest rate.

I agree that a lot of alts offer little or nothing, but there are still plenty of alts that are very strong projects that offer real-world solutions that bitcoin can't provide.
Just take smart contracts as an example. I'm sure that these will become a part of everyday life in the coming years - it's a part of the ongoing march of automation, and offers huge efficiency savings. It seems inevitable that smart contracts will become huge. And ETH as the leading smart contract platfrom - it's price may dropping along with the rest, but I'm sure it will recover in time.

That's very true, altcoin become shit because too many bad news hit cryptocurrency. Isn't about their team in the project but it's about condition of the market make the prices become a shit. If we still believe about progress of cryptocurrency it's very good for us to take advantage (invest).

You have a strong point in your opinion but in my observatio, not all altcoin are becoming shitcoins theres a few altcoin that pump up even the price of bitcoin are in downtrend situation but the sad reality most altcoin are becoming dead, the positive thing that I see in this situation you can buy more altcoin in a low price, Im looking for a good bounce for both altcoin & bitcoin.

If you have a shit alt coin you have to exchange it to quality alt to get your money back in the next run. The amount of dirt is more than good with a very large margin. If you have an alt quality coin now is the time to double because there is a big sale.

It will be just a temporary situation i guess. This temporary situation can be reversed if all altcoins (even btc) have a real function in real life like being a real currency, not only as an investment like now. Because it can not serve as a currency, alt coins really depend on the ability of people to buy it.

It takes a serious investor to invest today because the market is declining and people are surprised at how far it will go, you are right it's a good time to invest now for the bull run that we are all hoping to come, the past ICO are now selling their Eth so it will soon come to end and new investors will come along.

Yes as per market situation your every words are true but in my opinion it is good for those who didn't adopt crypto at high price but also this time people's who invested at ath they are panic but I'll suggest hold this is just new beginning of crypto and it will definitely tough ath again.

Personally, I don't see how bitcoin holding is in good position as bitcoin is not growing. In fact, it is going down too now and then, so if anything, holding it, without taking time and opportunity costs into account, is neutral at best. But since the purpose of holding is to reap massive profits in the future, it is not really neutral but also a cause for frustration, maybe somewhat less severe than for those who keep a lot of altcoins. Price stability is not what any hodlers are looking for, so they are nervous too.

Regarding altcoins falling, they have always been falling whenever bitcoin goes down or just stagnates. If it starts to go up, altcoins will move up even faster. This has also been so for years.

it's hard to see the potential of the coins because we are in a bear market and people prefer to sell their coins that hold it you can see this in the ICO's business right now, only few ICO are generating funds or even reaching their softcap people are very careful investing right now maybe we can see a good results after the September 30 decision.,

What I have noticed in the altcoins market lately is the fact that it sims their have lost the connection between them and bitcoin, because before now once the bitcoin market start appreciating you see all altcoin appreciating in price too but recently bitcoin has increase but altcoins keep bleeding to the grave. Most altcoins are already below ICO price.

I think bitcoin needs to get to some stable position before other alts can follow since bitcoin is still very much fluctuating up and down without any steady rise, this will continually affect the power of other altcoins to rise and between, I still hodl all my coins that are below value till the market stabilizes again.

It will be shit when they were not all created for what will be beneficial to all and not for a good usage, 80% coins on Coinmarketcap are already abandoned projects because of low volume.

I understand your feelings, because I also suffered huge losses due to holding an altcoin. All of my assets plummeted and had almost no value and holding an altcoin was the biggest mistake I had made. I can only wait and hold on until the market recovers.

Maybe I should switch and plan a new investment to minimize the losses I will get later.

I think not only you are experiencing it, I and everyone who invests in crypto also feels the same as you. all complain about the current market situation that is still not stable and in accordance with what we want. we don't know for sure when the market will rise again but here I am still optimistic and believe there will be crypto development in the future.

i can say 90% of the altcoin are shitcoin, now we only see the aftermath of the shitcoin downfall. shitcoin willl wither and the strong one will stay and bounce to the new higher.

And what is going to happen on September, 30th? SEC is going to reject yet another application for an ETF approval? It will be the 10th, if I remember correctly. So the chances of approving it are miserable and that rejection is likely already priced in if there had been anything at all to price in.

It is interesting that while most if not all altcoins are in a free fall currently, bitcoin itself remains rock-solid. It means that the crash in the altcoin market we are experiencing right now may be pretty much orchestrated and artificial. I don't think it takes a lot of money to crash major altcoins like litecoin, ethereum, etc, as compared to what it takes to manipulate bitcoin prices. No, not all altcoins are shitcoin. We generally only think altcoins based on prices on the market. But altcoins not meaning only about money. Some altcoins have really good projects and have good visions. And I believe that these some altcoins will have significant benefits for blockchain technology in future.

It seems all Altcoins are going down the price and are in the longest red storm since the beginning of year. The situation has not changed much but we always believe that the cryptocurrency world will always develop and constantly develop.

Traders most times switch gheur holdings when it's dropping massively to the more stable currencies (in this case bitcoin). This causes a more steep drop in the value of those altcoins, this doesn't make them shitcoins and those with a good product, and a committed tram would likely recover.

I do not think it will all be shitcoin. Many of them are more than impressed by this crisis. When it comes back up again, it will only affect robust altcoins

I don't agree that all altcoins will be shitcoins because not all of them is priceless.Maybe none of them has surpassed bitcoin standing as of the moment but we will never know what the future of cryptocurrency brings for this is a game of surprises and unpredictability.

An alt coin is only a shitcoin if it offers absolutely nothing new at all and there's no obvious need or benefit of it. For instance, I think the majority of alt coins or tokens are in fact shitcoins, but I wouldn't say ethereum is one because it obviously has usefull features that bitcoin doesn't. I still see that as the second 'best' alt coin despite the battering it's taken in value recently.

Vitalik Buterin recently in an interview said that he does not see the prerequisites for the multiple growth of the crypto market, he specified that most people know about crypto!

Market will clean its guts and continue. If you have tokens with real Project, they will get value at some point.

It is quite true but it is possible only thanks to the BTC's dominance on the cryptomarket and alternative ones are not so strong to be on the same position.

Holding Altcoin now is a wrong decision. Bitcoin dump continues and only gives a little chance for Altcoin to recover. I also experienced a loss of around 50%. and I decided to use the Scalping method because it is more profitable for situations like this.

A lot of people will have 90% on their altcoins since the highs, I don't think all are shitcoins though, lots still valued at millions of dollars.

In trading, it always a must to invest an amount you are afford to lose. We all know that most of the time or where the market is bleeding, the most affected on price dump are the altcoins. They are only being used as a substitute to multiply our BTC or ETH since those two are the most profitable and recognized cryptocurrency which can also be traded to fiat currency. I'd rather hold my altcoins because the bulls are coming back sooner or later.

This got me really laughing hard, the altcoins market is really very immature, btc has always been playing the domineering role in the cryptospace, while a lot of holders have been waiting and anticipating a pump in altcoins with wasn't coming forth, they decided to hedge in a more matured market which is btc while the rest will go into fiat

There are some good altcoins that have promising features such as privacy and low fees but it looks the majority of them will die out and will not return.

For me, now the preferred option is the purchase of BTC - I consider it the most reliable investment. After all, the cost of a coin is always restored after temporary falls. But I also recommend that you distribute your investments for different projects.  ;D

Zcash and Monero are the best in security aspects then as I know they are good coding side and made complete in c++ coding and making it well in code side buddy.
Security is only save is from hacking and problems only but to price bump is the thing what we expected here.

Not all of altcoins are shitcoins because there are still some of them which has a good potential and great platform. A lot of holders have gained through altcoins and theres no reason for us to dount about it. What we have to do is just to choose the best one.

The market will recover. Maybe it will take a few months, maybe a few years to recover again. But it will recover for sure. When that happen all these Altcoins will have a good future again.

I disagree that all altcoins become trash because in my observation altcoins still valueable and can earn many advantages for holders. The condition of market that show in the red zone isn't directly make altcoins worthless but the coins always fluctuative and if we patient the coins will increase and give profits in the few months later. Like today, in the coinmarketcap, the price of btc and most of altcoins begin better and enter the green zone. For example like eth that in few days ago the price reach under $200 per coin but today the price increase and reach $224 per coin. so in my opinion altcoins still exist and can give many profits in the end of year 2018.

Not all altcoins. Look at NEO, ethereum, IOTA, Stellar - they are all still very potential. There are some with less popularity like Viuly that I also like. The only hype altcoin that turned into shit coin is Ripple.

What you call shit coin was ones a good and promising coin and as such it will still get to a time where the price will still pump up and you will see it as good coin. Altcoin is not became shitcoin, but it is because btc price is strong in the market, then many peoples sold their altcoin to buy bitcoin.
This is causing the altcoin price falling too much because most holders dumped their altcoins.

Not all oc them are shit, some are still maintaining there stand in the market. Though the rise is not up to our expectations but with time everything thing will be OK.

It is the consequences which matter most in this case. And the consequences are that people are losing trust even in solid altcoins. In fact, this is what happens right now as it is plausible to assume that people move their funds from altcoins to bitcoin, hence the lasting decline in this market. Bitcoin is rock solid among the steep downfall of the altcoin market, so many traders and holders alike will start using bitcoin or switch back to bitcoin as a safe haven in the cryptoworld. That's not a bad thing in itself but undoubtedly bad for altcoins.

I can see the OP's point. I have to agree that, when a certain altcoin gradually lossing its value it will be considered a shit coin. In the current situation we have right now, we're on the verge of calling most of the alts in the market as shitcoins. What matters now is, who will survive to crawl back to their normal price condition, which is not below the ICO price.
I dont expect the bull to attract the market this year, so, lets see who will remain atop. I know ETH will bounce its way back above $500.

altcoins don't "become" shitcoins. they are either shitcoins in first place or they are not. if they were shitcoins, it means you were missing it because they were being pumped and you could make some small profit from that pump so you were blinded by greed.
otherwise a coin that is half decent will remain strong even if there is a small pump in it. these coins will always survive the long run but the shitcoins always have biggest pumps and are always on top of coinmarketcap.

I think this is a recession as many investors took profit earlier this year, ICO projects started to liquidate investment assets (mostly ETH) to maintain the project, and also by the projects Ponzi and fraud make the market continue to recession this year

If the altcoin you have has decreased. Maybe that's a very natural thing in trading. Because not every time altcoin always rises. Altcoin also experienced a decline and increase sometime. So you can't say that all altcoins are useless like you said.

Even top tier altcoins has lost major part of value. All market is down 70-90 % and it makes me angry!

if in my opinion personally the alt coin prices continue to drop from day to day when compared to bitcoin but it doesn't mean that alt coins cannot exceed bitcoin in the future. if you already have my alt coin suggestion you should just save it and make an investment in the long run .....

I feel that all of their bitcoin and altcoin seem to be regulated by big players. They always make propaganda and they can manage other bitcoins and altcoins to go up and down. Let's think like them. All prices of coins in the market are dropping so we can't say that those old altcoins are shit coins. It's just that the market isn't going right at the moment. But once the market becomes stable then we can finally identify if some of those coins are shit coins.

It`s normal to alts be so unstable, and we don`t need to panic. Also, Good Altcoins - it`s a coins of our future, because of targeting on different spheres. We need to wait and support good altcoins.

Get your facts right brother. All altcoins are excellent after some time. You may not know when the time shall come when they will be rising high. Go for coins like Paragon, Stellar and Lisk which shall rise for sure.

Well, that's a tough question. For example, is dogecoin a shitcoin? Or maybe, it is a coin which is half decent and half, um, naughty? And while we are at it, what do you mean by a half-decent coin? Is it somewhere in between a shit coin and a solid coin? Then you are apparently contradicting your own premise, that altcoins can't become shitcoins as they are either shitcoins or they are not, right from the start.

Personally, I'm inclined to think that if the team or lead developer abandons the coin and its development is not supported by the community (as was the case with bitcoin), it has all the chances to turn into a shitcoin in the end, not worthy of a dime. As far as I'm concerned, price is the ultimate measure. If a coin is worth something on a long enough timeframe, it is not a shitcoin.

And the main reason of this trends is dominance of BTC that could not be avoided because this coin is the base of other coins including alts. It's not a healthy way of development at all.

I guess this is because of less interested investors on a ICO as time goes by, i've been on many telegram group of ICO's and there has been a lot of unfulfilled promises. The reason every dump of newly listed coin is because unfinished business after time after time delays that triggers some investors and bounty hunters to dump which causes the coin to less valued than ICO price.

i hope you dont mind but in my own humble opinion, not all altcoins will die. why ? because there are projects like vechain that has a working product and has many partnerships. And in terms of bitcoin, bitcoin needs more innovation in able to compete to altcoins.

That's the whole point in the argument over bitcoin versus altcoins. All in all, altcoins do what bitcoin does. Yes, some of them, like ethereum for example, add certain features that expand the idea of a currency. Here I refer to smart contracts and it adds value, without doubt. But apart from that, all coins offer basically the same features, so there is hardly anything that bitcoin lacks while altcoins enjoy.

Besides, the majority of cryptocurrency users are into crypto with mostly speculative intentions and goals. But for this you don't need fancy features, you need hype and recognition, public awareness. And if we look at things from this angle, bitcoin beats all competition hands down.

It would be over exaggerated actually to say that all altcoins become shit coins as that is not possible. Surely, the market is generally speculative at the moment and it makes It very easy for altcoins to get tied in movement with bitcoin but in the real sense, this does not mean that some of them with very interesting product and real life usage in the long run will not be able to drive in demand for themselves as that is a normal and expected thing and those without product, development or usage will be the shit ones.

I don't know why some people are struggling to accpet the market conditions, me to it was difficult for me to accpet initially that we are into a bear market, even in tradition economy. There will be a turn around in the market but not just sure of when this would happen. I have learnt a great deal here and know how to deal with different phases of the market

I think this market is the "natural selection" of crypto... a lot of altcoins will vanish and the remaining will be stronger. It is the time to clean all the pumps and dumps, crazy projects, incompetent teams, coins that have no use expect transactions, scams, etc...
The proof is that there are a few alts that are growing.
With this market investors must also evolve and become more demanding on their potencial investments

Not really all altcoin become shit coins, because  all altcoins are trying their best to be a stable altcoins but it is sad to say that not all altcoins will survive in this cryptocurrency world, so there will be a successful altcoins and there are also unsuccessful altcoins in the coin market.

The fact that most of the altcoins has no real value has already been written many times in different publications. Most of the projects wich conduct the ICO do not follow the conditions prescribed in the whitepaper, do not develop the project and do not create a working product, which leads to devaluation of the tokens  :(

in my opinion not all altcoins are shit coins, because there are also lots of coins that are priced up, so that proves that not all altcoins will be shit coins.

We cannot say that all altcoins are shitcoins practically the entire market is down even the king of cryptocurrency BTC is down also there are lot of competition in market which makes people to lose trust. It will take some time to see the market in stable again.

During tough times altcoins are bleeding harder than Bitcoin as it is the oldest and most trusted coin.
Holding altcoins at a bearish market is not a profitable business as BTC is dominating the market.

Not all of them, yes there are a lot of shit coins but then there are a lot of altcoins that are doing quite well and will continue to do so in the long run. Although bitcoin remains the best coin, there are a whole lot of other coins that are doing pretty good. Like ethereum and neo, also monero. Coins like this have the potential to do very well in the long run and should not be underestimated.

Not all atcoins has become shit coins, most are still looking good, and some of those coin we call shit coins today are good, the only thing they need is just for them to be noticed by investors, but unfortunately they have not been noticed.

The altcoins have raised millions of dollars, but none of them can produce successful projects, I think they're all dishonest and unnecessary projects. Not even doing the right software

People tend to say shitty things actually when the market is in a downtrend and it is highly unreasonable to say that all altcoins are shit coins. Because there are coins with real life applications and due to that reason they have gained remarkable value too then how we can call them shitty.

The thing though with this market presently is that it is highly speculative and there is nothing you can do until that aspect tend to get discarded with real life usage in the long run, this is the reason why you see people not really getting to use the altcoins for the product in which they are based on and I can categorically say for sure that any altcoin without product in the long run will end up dead as there is no 2 ways about it.

bitcoin has a big influence on market turnover including growth or rate of decline. and this is the effect there are many altcoins that really fall in.

For crypto market price to make a price turn at this point like you say is quite difficult due to the negative news everywhere on crypto, maybe you can look for a long term vision rather than focusing on your price every now and then. My case is different from you my altcoins value is more than bitcoin maybe i am lucky to have all these altscoin.

But I beg to disagree on some points specially those you said that all "Altcoins Become Shitcoins" I still believe that those Altcoins that specially "Created with a Purpose" lets see the "Tokenize Electricity" with a Working Power Plant that already producing Power this kind of Altcoin will survive because It has a base demand and it will not die.

I dont agree with your opinion. When you want to buy ofc we buy them at the deep, and sell them when in the peak. When you buy at the high and then you are in loss position then you say the altcoin is shit. Its not the same. Its what we called bad trade. But to think altcoin will overcome BTC i must say its hard but without altcoin, there will be no development in the blockchain cause sometimes they offer new feature and fix what btc cant offer to us

Everything is a matter of knowing how to choose, you have to see which alts are really worthwhile, if you invest it is always good to take a couple of days to investigate a project, try to look for an original team, and always in development and have good communication with the community, because that's how you will succeed with the altcoin you want.

Not all Altcoin become shit coin because some of them are listed to the top and some of them are really have potential, maybe you choose the wrong one. Even there's a lot Altcoin are created and coming, there are some of them are trusted of lot of people especially those old altcoin like Ethereum. So if i were you trust those old coin to avoid encounter a shitcoin.

Not all altcoins are shitcoins mate.The scene we currently seeing is just because of the market sentiment. Since bitcoin is down and hovering at the same price,That's why altcoins aren't increasing. I'm optimistic that the alt season will soon begin.Lets wait for that.

I don't think so :). Not only altcoin but Bitcoin is being in the same situation :). Although Bitcoin price is being stable at the moment but seem like it's much lower than ATH price of BTC last year, nearly $20k. When the king of crypto world can be dumped to hell like that so there is nothing strange that all other cryptocurrencies will be the same :). I think we shouldn't care too much about the price and keep waiting.

Not every AltCoin became a shitcoin. If these AltCoin have a use chase, ecosystems works, already working product. It's showing more valuable then AltCoin with no working product or ecosystems don't works. Btw, about investment you need to set your goal. You want your portofolio Up in USD or Up in Satoshi.

Not all of them that's for sure. A lot of coins actually have great utility value but they just haven't been implemented yet because of the poor adoption rates. I think that nearly all the coins that are blockchains built for other blockchains will stuggle in the long run, as these will be hit doubly hard if blockchain tech in general turns out to be nonviable. I expect that 99% of altcoins will indeed turn into shitcoins, but there will still be 10-20 with real value.

Of course you would think that coin alt is just a coin of dirt because as long as you hold it for years it still becomes a bloody coin. I think you should be more selective in choosing altcoin because there are also coin alt that have success in launching the ICO and the results are very profitable. so I think you're wrong in choosing coins.

There are still a lot of coins that make up the large community and grow very well. Only coin that was created for the purpose of clarity but only want to get the money from the ICO investor then abandon the project will gradually go into oblivion. Investigate and decide carefully before investing in any coin.

It somehow we loss of hope especially when we saw huge declines on prices but isn't enough to consider the end of crypto world.  Yes, we all are losing right now and some of us are leaving crypto but I know, they were came back once crypto push to move high again

Most altcoins are really empty in nature and they can be used only for fast trading, but there is a certain amount with very good potential, just not everyone can analyze which altcoins are better to invest and leave for holding.

Well, every other coin outside bitcoin is an altcoin, so basically, every other coin asides bitcoin is tied to bitcoin's movement until further notice. I would not say eventually all altcoins will end up becoming a shit coin as there would still be some with real life usage and then we will get to see some of them being able to stand alone without having to be tagged directly with btc and they can develop simply on their own, but that does not change the fact that some will end up shitty anyway.

I quite agree with you that all Altcoins are lowering their prices, and investing in cryptocurrencies would be the best choice in a down market.

Not all of it mate, I hope so, I believe there coins out there that are still going and not in shit. Its true that all altcoins lower their value because of the bearish market today but I believe it will rise up again and goes on a bull run.

I dont think thats all true. there are altcoins out there which are still alive and trading. you just need to look for more coins to trade with. the reason some coins became shit is because of the failed ICO projects and failed endorsement plus when the concept of the project itself is shit l, then it all comes the drain

I agree. Not all altcoin are shit coins you just choose the wrong coin to invest with. There are some altcoins that doing well and really profitable. You dont have all the altcoins to prove them that it is shit coins that has no value and never to list on the market. I am become profitable of some altcoins  but I can say that some of them is worth to trade fast than hold more because the price going down fast.

indeed, lately altcoin has decreased by about 50% from ico prices, maybe the cause was due to the decline in bitcoin and altcoins followed it, and maybe the other cause was too much altcoin

In the bull run every investor enjoy great amount of profit and happy with his investment and call the market is really food with altcoins ,but when it comes into the negative trajectory and cause losses such type of nomenclature like shit coins emerge.

I disagree a bit to your part, because not all altcoins are becoming shit coins. Maybe some altcoins that are subjected to scam coins,without prior feature. But most of the tokens right now has a distinct feature.
