The goal of technology was for everyone to have easier lives and work less. Well todays generations have it much tougher.  They are working for much lower wages and longer hours.  Its next to impossible for millenials to purchase a house on their own.  Something here itsn't right, Capitalism?

Not really sure where you living at but if work has something to do with technology, then the pay should be commensurate on your tech skills so its not lower wages, in my opinion. So if you work longer hours then obviously bigger pay.

So its possible that they can purchase a house of their own. I guess every generation has this mind set and not applicable for millennials alone, I myself was a IT graduate and find good job and nice pay and was able to purchase a house myself.

Usually people from developing countries, which are not capitalists alt all, blame capitalism for their problems and vote for socialists politicians hoping they will solve their problems.

That cause even more problems, because socialism never worked anywhere. Socialist politicians and policies fuked up my country and many others around Latin America

This issue is not due to the fault of technology. Nor it is a fault of capitalism. It is mainly because of the increase in educated population. The basic demand and supply rule.

In my country, when my parents got into a job, a normal bachelors degree was considered a great qualification. Now, even post graduation is not sufficient for many low paying jobs.   

I have seen hundreds of Engineers are working in BPO companies because they could not find a job befitting their education.

It is just the supply of qualified manpower has increased as compared to the available opportunities, resulting in decreased payment and increased workload. Simple demand supply rule it is following!

I think you got it wrong, yes the wages might be small depending on what country you are in but it should not be blamed to technology. As technology innovate our daily living like in communication and transportation life gets easier but only to those who can afford these technology. The one to blame for the situation is inflation and only this that can be done about it is lower the yearly inflation.

Like you said, technology is just there to make life easier but you also have to understand that it is not technology that will pay your wages as that is totally on your employer and has nothing to do with technology.

I can't believe it can be that bad that if you have a solid skill and a good educational background, you won't be able to find a well paying job. If you know your worth on a normal day, You won't settle for less, unless you are living in a country where the unemployment rate is high.

Side note: thanks to feminism, almost half of population (previously not working) progressively entered a job market, driving the wages down and increasing the living costs, making people work longer. Mass immigration has similar effect.

Technology do evolves which would really make our work faster and convenient compared on the past generations and I agree on the thing you do said that technology itself wont really be the one to give us the money to make our daily living.This is why we do end up on working and using up these technologies but somehow when it comes to difficulty i can say that it is way more accessible and convenience into these generations.

Everything is possible if you believe on it. I personally work as a minimum wage earner and yet I earn enough money for my future simply because I don’t depend on my salary alone, this market helps me to become more financially free. Millennials should know how to invest money so they can have extra profit to use for their future.

Technology makes it easier to organize and coordinate. The trouble with that is, the only people who actually use it for that purpose are governments and corporations. The public almost never uses it to inform themselves, organize unions or boycotts or do anything useful.

In this sense, technology gives elites a distinct advantage while not doing as much to empower average or ordinary people.

The reason people in cuba build rafts to immigrate into america is so that they might have the freedom to start their own business, own their own property and have basic rights which capitalism grants them. Countries like cuba, north korea and venezuela are where people who hate capitalism should live. Maybe then they might appreciate and be thankful for what they have & not be so quick to support throwing it away.

Here there is one thing that is not right in this world of technology the kids the new era, the new generation is exposed to much as early as a 4 years old.

Why Am I saying this? Because "some" do not but toys anymore they buy there kids technology and download games for making there kids smart and work out there brain and there eyes and brain that is draining from radiation. For the results your kids as early age may develop a very painful to radiation sickness which can cause damage to early exposure of technology.

I really agree with your opinion, more and more graduates are unemployed. and if you already have a job, surely the job has a long time. with the development of technologies such as cryptocurrency, I think this will greatly help one's economy. so they can buy whatever they want.

I don't think that's what he meant. He meant that the tools and the way we used to complete jobs have evolved thanks to technology, yet our working hours are still the same and wages are not getting better. For example, we used pens and papers to fill out data (for companies, governments, Public Relations, etc.), we moved to typing machines, then we got computers and laptops. The way we type became better and faster, still wages are the same (if not worse), and it is still from 9–5. Apply this to most jobs and professions nowadays to get the picture.

In some countries like the US i've heard that this is illegal. I'm not sure if other countries has the same or different set of rules about people getting below minimum wages.

You're right with technology improving but putting the blame on technology because there are people who get paid less by working more isn't right. It can be convenient working with the technology we have now but you can't expect results to always improve.

Technology is not to be blamed for our economy today and the hardships that young people undergo. It does really makes our lives easier especially its applications on healthcare. What should be blamed our governments that mishandle the economy and big businesses that abuse the working public.

Oh, are you kidding OP? Computer wasn't intended for playing high-end graphics games, at first it was invented for solving math problems. It saves a lot of time, currently civil war isn't as dangerous as economic war. You don't need to everytime go in bank for paying something, you don't need to go in airports to book a ticket, you can everything do easily online at home. Can you imagine how much time do we save? That's why everything develops so rapidly from the begining of 20th century, yeah 20th because this is the century invented by Tesla, this scientist was amazing and took electricity on another level.

There's a study going on about this, people want to change workdays from 5 to 4. I can already imagine companies implementing this as an attractive option, give employees lesser wages, and make them work for like 16-18 hours a day. To change this the world's perspective on how things are seen needs to be changed, but we know that is never going to happen. So we just have to suck all of this up, work our asses off,and still struggle to make ends meet.

All right you say, can't all people be millionaires. There will be those people who will work for another person, for a fixed fee and will have a house in a mortgage for 50 years and there will be people who will live on credit. It is a pity to see such people who are sold for money.

I think you are telling the truth, because I also see a lot of companies with good technology but only give a little wage to the workers and after I calculate the salary of the worker is only enough to meet the necessities of life such as to buy food and drinks, maybe still be able set aside a little money but to buy a house might have to be able to work 5-10 years

Technology is making our lives easier it has create more job opportunity so it's not the technology fault, the main reason most people are struggling for economic is because the poor get poorer the rich get richer, nowadays people are creating money from money, in order to make more money you need to invest more money, that is why the middle class people are now struggling

but atleast technology make our live go easier than before.much benefit from technology developtment.we can take example to UBER and GRAB, they give us simplicity go everywhere althoug we have no car.

I Guess Op is pointing not only for the IT graduates but more particularly for those who has not graduated,the capability to find good paying works would be harder as the means of living nowadays are very high compared to what we have couple of years ago

Capitalism maybe is one good reason for this problem but the competency for me is the most applicable thing about the requirements for being accepted in jobs.more people wanted to find high paying jobs but they don’t even competent on that said work

If there are more new technology ,it will really improve especially our economy for it brings more improvement than  the usual works, with this technology ,it can help lessen the burden of the old process way of working, new technology provides fast and improve ways of work which in turn will gain productivity.

As I see nowadays the "millenials" have access to items the last generations couldn't, because they were expensive. It's an improvement, and in a big parcel thanks to Capitalism. Take the 2000's as an example: cellphones, computers were scarce, and now anyone has a cellphone (modern ones) or a laptop.

Also, the workload is the same like always... The wages are normal too.
Life could be much better, but from the financial aspect it's much better than it was decades ago.

That is the purpose of technology, to make our live easier. Without these technologies, our works will be harder and far more complicated than what we are doing right now.

Though the disadvantage of these technologies is the pollution that it brings in our world. One of the creations of man that destroys our world is these technologies that emits toxic wastes. It is efficient to have these technologies but is still has it's disadvantages to people in to our world.

I can say it's all about the mindset and the determination to have a better future. If you work for longer hours and lower wages then you should do something to make it better. Perhaps you need to acquire new skills that might be paying more than what you are doing now. You need to sacrifice at first and then later on, you would be able to feel the benefits of all your sacrifices. Improving yourself to became more competitive would be a nice solutions, but in terms of improving technology to be more useful than human being would be a killer in any skills that you will going to have, from those investors mindsets they are always aiming for big profits and lesser expenses they

Here, apparently, our life should look more widely and look at it from the angle of the meaning of life. Humanity has certain global tasks that it must solve. Everyone has the same tasks, only more concrete ones. Life, our existence in this world forces us to work and develop, to facilitate our life and improving ourselves spiritually. It think there is a better word to describe it - Greediness! As soon as technology came forward so many people lost their jobs, only because machines did  it better. In general, the wages given by a company will be in accordance with the skills possessed by workers. If the work done is related to technology, I think the wages that will be received must be commensurate with the skills we have.

The invention of technology has been of a great benefit to everyone on earth. Through technology, the input if man has undergone superb change and will always like improvement in our daily technologies.

I think it can be very  big help for us to improve our technology  because it more easier for us in our daily life but i dont think so that it can be affected in our wage because human is still the front row of it because the technology  were not gonna work without human.

Unfortunately, many do not see their lives differently. They believe that it is the norm. Have 2 loans: one for the car, the other for repairs and furniture and mortgage pay 20 years. For many, it is normal to work 8-10 hours a day and spend their time on money, and the money does not come to them, they go to repay the loan and mortgage. In the develop countries technology cannot help people too much especially to make living because the competitions to get decent works is very tight because all of people on those countries were very poor and at this time the easiest from technology only belong to rich people which is they can able to buy anything they want but unfortunately poor people still being poor until whenever and technology can't help too much for them

I actually think otherwise, because of mahineries and technologies lesser manpower are now needed in factories and companies. The competition is now tougher but the wages most of it got higher and it actually takes lesser hours because of the faster system of technologies.

I will give an example, in my country there are factories of processing of nuts and in that factory for example does not have technology, are 50 workers and if we were to install the appropriate equipment to process the cashew nuts? we would have to fire more than 70% of the workers, because the technology would be much faster, more efficient and cheaper. so technology does not increase the workload of workers, it does with decreasing employment

I think that wages depend on what line of work you are in. It is not bitcoin's fault that millenials cannot afford to buy a house. There is actually a study that a lot of them opted not to buy a house because they feel it is much cheaper to rent than buying their own house. So I think that it is not fair to blame technology or bitcoin for these problems.

Everyone has not even imagined something like this which our current generation is in. There are a part of people who live like Gods. They almost do not works or do not work at all. They have everything that they want. I mean the world elites. Yeah, we live in the world where people are not equal. As we know there are the social pyramid where people, who are located lower, work heavily and do not have anything. Millenials are quite possible to purchase their own house as long as they want to learn and improve their skills about technology. As technology develops, it is very useful for the world but it has no contribution for the income comfort of the individual. The ones that regulate individual well being and equal income distribution are governments and i think they aren't interested in everyone being happy.

Technologies taking away our jobs is the worst case scenario for mankind. But I think it does not happen in the short term near the future. There still needed a lot of developments and testing to make technologies become efficient and cheap. Look at the latest Elon Musk Tesla's problem. In today's world the CEO of a big company has to work harder and needs to make even more profit each quarter to keep his seat, otherwise the shareholders and the board of members will fire him and hire someone else. If you are making 10 billion dollars in profit this quarter, you need to make 10 billion plus 1 dollar next quarter.

The companies try to spend less and less every day and need to profit more and more. Which means those CEO's give people less and less money and longer and longer hours and keep getting best tech to find a way to fire as many people as possible to keep their shareholders happy.

It's simply not true that people these days work more, all the actual research data suggests otherwise. Today's generation is having it way easier than people 100 years ago, people used to work full day to barely make a living, now they have a good amount of money left after covering their all basic needs. Of course there are a lot of poor people now, but there used to be even more, and problems like hunger and illness afflict less people than before.

You're right,  the technology might help us to have easier and comfortable life but it never change the fact that the economy is not that updated to give the people what they deserve. Rich become richer poor become poorer because of undying economic problem. If  dont know how to ease the economic crisis but hopefully with the updated version of technology everything will also upgrade so with the wage of simple individuals.

You are not actually completely correct. The new generation is always looking for something much easier and profitable to work with and they do not want their most of the time to be spent. The generation is also getting into several works to earn a really good passive earnings and that is indeed great because it would make the world much more developed ahead.
I don't know much about the rest but the ones i meet are mostly engaged into cryptos and are really getting some good profits.

I don't think so. There are many people today are able to purchase their own houses and they are able to have investment in estate, land and housing. I dont think what you are saying is true, as technology gets bigger, the work that is awaiting becomes plentier, technology is meant to be controlled by human and as technology widens, along with it is the work force of man, technology is good and very helpful but along with its great help is the maintenance that keeps on growing as well, this is where people comes in.

The fault is not of the technology but of the people that they do not use new technology for themselves. Nevertheless most people take big advantages of technology. Example is this forum. I'm pretty sure it is not technology at fault here. i think it is more of the economy in a sense. The price of goods and services now versus the price of same goods and services the past is higher. Salaries stay the same but the prices keeps on getting up. The thing is, people still accept the meager salary because they don't have any other choice.

It is correct. Robots and machines can't be creative and can't create something new, therefore humans must use their brains and work as inventors. Moreover, the conveyors need to be managed by technical specialists, so smart and educated people will always be in demand.

Technologies are improving very rapidly. Some programs can already visually recognize the elements and can analyze the speech. Undoubtedly, robots are evolving and I am confident that they will be widely used in many areas of the economy in the future.

From the past the the things are becoming old and less productive, but now in the modern era there are many new technology being launched and develope to futher increase the productivity of this moment, so with new technology being used ,so we must also worked for it even if this technology is advanced to enhance the greater production in the cooming days.

You have a point there, with the booming of technology comes the flooding of new information that the younger generations needs to learn, and with all of those new technologies, only a few percentage of our youth today are being hired, and that is because even though there are a lot of work that can be done by technology, only 1 person is needed to actually operate them all, and I think this is why lesser and lesser new graduates are being hired each year.

well yeah capitalism really sucks, but there are other factors to be considered, like purchasing a house depends on the location, mostly of the good locations to buy properties are already occupied, some developers are taking the advantage to increase the worth or price of that property based on its location, that is capitalism alright, in bitcoin, there are also capitalist, but that is the game in crypto trading, we all just have to play it.

I work in pharmaceutical company as scientist and it is so sorrowful that I work at very less pay scale than what I should be getting for designation as well as for my educational background.
