Title: What happen if the token or coin does not get into the market?
Post by: Applechild on September 13, 2018, 08:29:16 PM
I have some coins and token in my wallet and for some time now no news about the platform or coin. What happen if after we all struggle to support ICOs through the different media and beyond even our capacity and the token does not get into the market or what is paid to you as reward for your support is something that is almost as good as nothing, what do you do in such cases? Is there anyway to remove such coins from your wallets? Personally I did some airdrop when I heard they were good but my rewards are so little that I wish there is a way I can delete it out of my wallet.

Most of the teams are not listing their coins due to current market situation. It's just normal. But many times people get tokens with really low value and can't sell in the exchange even if it's listed. So, those coins nothing for them. If by any case if tokens are not listed no one get anything special. Those coins just stay in our wallet with no value.

It’s not possible to delete them away from your wallet
You have to bear with it

They are mostly 10,15,200 tokens what worth 0.002$ and does not bring any regard
But I think best way to avoid them is rare

I am sorry if your rewards have come to amount to nothing, but that is really the risk you take devoting your time and energy to some of these ICOs...nothing personal, I understand your frustration.

Things to keep in mind going forward though:

1. You only put forth your time and effort, not your hard earned money, so you lose noting but time

2. Just because they are not listed on an exchange yet doesn't mean they wont get listed in the future, there are a lot more crypto exchanges being created.

3. Try and only bounty hunt ICOs that have an already dedicated exchange partner, like cryptopia or hitbtc

I have dabbled a little bit with ICO bounties in the past but in some cases it really may not be worth the time and effort. The only way I can see it being worth it is if 1 of the ICOs you did some bounties for did really well in the long run.

Here is a thread of someone pretty much asking the same thing:

Seems like the only way to clear your wallet of wasted coins is just to send them to a burn address.

So meaning, you received your tokens from an airdrop. We have the same and I think all of us have the same experience. Some project are not successful that is why their token/coin don't have the chance to get listed in the market. Possible reason are lack of investors, the team is not working so hard to make the project success. The platform is not good to attract investors.

It happened to me many times. Supporting a project by a signature campaign and social media campaign. You did all your best and did not get paid for what you have done. Most of the coins are not listed. They gave you your reward then after that, nothing will happen. It is not possible to remove it in your wallet. The coins/token will be there for the rest of your live. Lucky if the coin hits the exchange after a year.

Thanks for that contribution. that is the right thing to do I mean sending them to burn address. Anyone that you know? I mean the burn address? Like you are a mind reader, i feel frustrated receiving 5 units of token that is worth nothing, just stock in my wallet. I had earlier abandoned the wallet because of this but I dont know why I checked today and got pissed off.

If the tokens that you earned through ICO bounties end up not being listed then it will not have real value as of the moment because for it to have value it should be traded and moved through different users. If the devs or the managers are not updating in their project specially if they are not listed then it is most likely a scam, that is why project evaluation is important and not just join all of the bounties and spend your time earning nothing.

You can't remove those coins unless you send it to another wallet.

There's no way to delete those dust amounts that are shown for your wallet. I have read the same question before but answers says that there's no way that you can do about it. I feel that your efforts are wasted and got nothing but take it as a lesson that its the risk that you'll get after joining some bounties/airdrops.

I do not now if you are really specific about tokens from airdrop or from ICO. If you are particular about tokens from airdrop, for such, there might be any specific time. The developer chooses when he feels he can list it, because most are given to holders for free, so you have to wait for him. On the other hand, if it is ICO, the developer is obliged to list. Although, whoever might have have invested into such ICO believes in it. So, you can still question the team as regards when they will list, to know if they have a genuine reason for holding it back. That not withstanding, a genuine ICO will list it coin.

As well I also have the purse there are coins that don't bring me any good. I can't sell them, but they're lying. I am not sure at all that once these coins can be sold.Very much a Scam.

If a coin or token can't enter the market space is a very bad sign because it means that people out there don't know about it and so there won't be much demand for these either.

Title: Re: What happen if the token or coin does not get into the market?

Most projects are not just ready yet to enter any exchange. You don't have to worry much about exchange now provided the team is actively carrying out their development targets they will definitely go on exchange.

As far as I know tokens from a purse cannot be removed. If they came to you to a purse, then they will lie there already always. You can just not pay attention to them and continue to work further. If they disturb you, then can transfer them just to other purse.

Well you can't really do anything with such tokens if they don't get to the exchanges. You will just have to leave them in your wallet and wait until it is listed on some exchange.

Well nothing happens in such situations if a token is not listed on exchange or market
Such token will remain in your wallet useless and of no value Whatsoever
Which is not really good if you spent weeks or months promoting such projects

Coins that do not go to the exchange will remain in your purse, you can not remove them. But there is a way out, send to another purse. But the question? Why do this? Let them lie, maybe someday, in a year or two they will be on the stock exchange

There are 2 possibilities.
1.Coins or tokens are not listed on the coinmarketcap but have a special market, you can see on their telegram and you can find information on the telegram.
2.Scam, in this case the coins / tokens that you have can experience ico failure or other reasons.
I myself have a lot of coins that are number two lots of ico that fail then not continue to make coins or tokens that are not continued to buy and sell that causes the coin to only be trash in my wallet.
The trash coin can't be erased but will remain in the wallet and I think if you want your wallet to be clean, you have to make a new wallet and transfer your valuable coins or tokens.

Tokens or coins that don't get to exchanges has been the result of the bear market but what I do sometimes if you won't call me a scammer is trade it with someone in exchange for eth.
I may just sell 1000 of a coin for a very cheap ETH.so by doing that I sell off all those coins to get ETH.
Cheers

In general, this means that you will not get anything from your invested funds, that is, you will not be able to withdraw your invested money, it's very bad, as you already understood, but all projects say that they will be added

Personally I did some airdrop when I heard they were good but my rewards are so little that I wish there is a way I can delete it out of my wallet.
There is no way to delete coins in your wallet, you only have two options you either create a new address to receive other coins and move your coins to that address, or you create a new address and you move that coin to that address, however there is nothing wrong with having some coins that have no value anymore, anyone that has invested or traded probably has some coins that are worth nothing.

I didn't witness such thing but probably, it won't have a market volume since investors and users won't be able to do trading. As such, it will not have a bright future in the market, development therefore won't come to the platform or project itself and the crowdsale and campaign period will be nonsene. You won't be able to do anything with your token if that's the case.

What will happen if the tokens or coin does not get into the market is really sad for both the investors and the team behind the project because first I would render the coin useless wasting the time, money and resources invested in the project for the investors, bounty hunters and the team behind the project. Because it won't be able to trade.

That's the result of failed project or just a scam coins which owners not even helping it to be listed in any exchange. If you can find it no value, then it is better to remove it from your wallet so won't disappointed seeing those shit coins.

That is the risk when a token does not enter the list exchanges. This means that the ICO project failed and did not reach the target achieved. Without listing into an exchange a token will not have a value, no price is owned. That is why it is important for us to choose an ICO project at first, analyze it as well as possible because it can help us choose projects that have prospects or not.

Some altcoins you recieved from airdrops or bounties with no exchange are considered dead coins or shitcoins. Dead coins if the project was totally dead and abandoned by team and shitcoins if the teams are not yet leave the project but the project was not moving or no progress. You can remove those shitcoins or dead coins from your wallet by sending it to any wallet but no sense of doing that because you only consuming gas.

Some of the airdropped tokens doesn't get listed on exchange even on dex which is a waste of time. But most of the ERC tokens get listed even just in etherdelta whether they like it or not the DEX lists them. If the project is good and that there will be a lot of demands to it, some exchange like binance do list it after the votes are cast. And it all depend to the kind of project and the team too. Team RCC didn't list their tokens because what they want is that they wanna release the final project first before they will pay to get the token list on exchanges.

What you feel, of course, everyone has the same thing as tokens that are not listed on the market, people say they are rubbish.
In my MEW wallet there are also coins that are almost 7 months old and there is no market until now. I can't do anything with my coin.

I also have some coins in my wallet and they are not yet in the exchange. I still have the positive thinking that the developer is still progressing their system to be ready for the exchange. They have different roadmap to be on exchange or not yet. But, if the token or coin is really not entered in the market, it means that the token or coin is zonk right? Can it be a dead coin?

see developer activities in the project, whether they are active or not. you can also discuss with other investors and if everything has the opposite, then throw away your expectations for the token or coin and forget it.

As I know you can't remove coins from your wallet. They can be donated to the founder of Ethereum by sending all the coins to the zero address. But I don't understand why you do. Leave the coins, maybe someday they will be on exchange and will be something to cost.

It quite unfortunate such things happens. I have participated in airdrops of good projects but the reward isn't worth it. So I have decide to do away with airdrops and focus on bounty campaigns instead.

You can't delete any token in your wallet. You can only transfer that token to another wallet. But actually that the token is not traded in any exchange at the moment, this is does not mean that the token will not trade in any exchange in the future. That's why I think you can continue the hold this token in your wallet. Maybe in the future that token can make you profit.

There are plenty of tokens which are listed already in the exchange firm but most of the people was forced to hold because it has have a very small value but there is no reason to throw this in the garbage , all you have to do is just to keep this in your wallet since we really do not know the future , like some of the coins that have a bigger price right now , some of those coins was start with the very small value.

that has to do with current market situation. I have seen many of them still holding back from exchange. Why do you want to delete them? just keep them in your wallet. What happens if you delete them and they get listed on exchange? it's better to be safe than sorry. few extra tokens in your wallet don't hurt anybody.

that's what we call it scam, there's nothing we can do about that, but if the people on community still support them and the devs is still active, there's still hope for those tokens, that's why you always need to check their community.

I think this can not be. After all, if this happens. This suggests that the market will not be able to work fully. After all, the whole structure of the crypto currency is held on internal instruments.

just be patient as some projects are delaying the listing of their crypto into the exchanges. the market is very low right now that it is not strategic for projects to list. Just check for updates in their social channels for the announcement. If in case that no activity or announce was issued, then you joined a scam project. You can always delete the coin by transfering it to another or dummy formatted address. but you will be losing more as there are transaction fees.

but the worst possibility if not get into market the coins is trash.

The answer is obvious. If they will not get listed to an exchange then that altcoin will be considered as a trash on your wallet and will never have its value. Most altcoins from airdrops with no serious team members and partnerships are most likely a scam and will be worthless in the future. If you wanted to remove those shit coins on your wallet, send it to a different wallet address or just create a new one instead. Multiple wallets with dedicated purposes is not a bad idea.

Obviously, it won't have a market price since exchangers determine the value of a crypto. Not being listed also means that there will be no one to be able to trade and invest into a coin which would make the volume zero or make the token it self, nonsense. But I have only witnessed delayed listing and never not being listed permanently.

It means only one thing mate : That ICO just went scam! Yes, it may be very hard to digest for you but that is the truth right now. The ICO's main thing or what I call it is the heart of ICO is listing over the exchanger. If the crypto currencies are getting listed immediately then there is some spark within the project and they are truly wanting the coin to get published to huge crowd that will be coming there way from the exchangers. If you think your ICO is not listing the coin because of some technical issues then it is all right but you should be contacting the admins right away to see whats the reason behind such delay. If they are not communicating then surely something fishy is going on.

Tokens in your wallet, you can not remove them from your wallet. And if any token can not get into market then it is a scam project and it is a dead token, not worth it. Or luckily you can wait for a longer time. It will be list on the market.

Well, when this happens it means only one thing. That they will stay in your wallet for a long time. I heard on such tokens say garbage. In general, this is an unpleasant situation. I do not want anyone like that.

Anyone that has invested in an ico probably has been in that situation occasionally and the only way to deal with it is to wait until the coin is listed in an exchange, but if a lot of time has passed and you see no results in that area it is possible that the coin is never going to be listed in any exchange and you are going to lose any money that you invested in that coin.

You're right! When our tokens and coins are not in the market, our money is not worth anything. I have some coin still im in my wallet and have not yet been on the trading floor. I do not know when I can sell the coins in my purse.

If a coin or token never hits exchange, it means it never hits exchange, the token will be as useless as shit, not until it can be traded for something.

Don't expect of huge rewards from airdrops cause definitely it is just pity amount given from the owner. And mostly they aren't listed yet in any exchange cause they are not already a working project or it is launch already. It could be worse if it turns into scam coins.

Keep those tokens/coins on you wallet maybe some day they get listed on exchanges. Few months ago i earned some tokens from signature campaign. The project's ICO wasn't successful and they don't have funds to list token on good exchanges. Last month they listed token on a free exchange and so far i have made 3.5 ether trading those tokens. So never lose hope and keep them on your wallet.

As we can see from the beginning of autumn and no one makes payments and project managers do not deal with the listing and many bounty increase the timing. All this is temporary. And this is due to the fall of the market. As soon as the market recovers everything can be sold.Do not rush to remove your coins from your wallet.

It is useless since it has no value. I had some coin holdings also that are useless after receiving it from airdrops and bounty campaign rewards. Sad but I was having a hard time on working and promoting on that project but i did not expect that they will just leave the project hanging after the ICO period.
This is happening more and more often and people are starting to complain about this, bounty hunters can work really hard just to get some tokens and to discover the developers have just abandoned the project and that those tokens are never going to have any value can be very depressing, so if you do not want to go through that, it is better that you join campaigns that pay with bitcoin or other known altcoin.

Not worthless, but it is the money that is piled up.
Maybe they are doing the ICO when the price of Ethereum is high and now it is going down the price of Ethereum.

So their tokens on the HODL in the wallet are not entered into the Exchange.

It is either you hide them from your wallet or you send them to a burn address (contract address) if you do not want to see them anymore. Basically, a coin/token that you cannot sell is worth nothing.

Basically, you are hodling a bag full of nothing.
Crypto doesn't magically get value and not every project is successful.

If you were to invest in a real life startup (like a new tech company), there is a high chance you will lose all your money because the company closes down.
If an ICO was never able to go to market, then they are basically a bankrupt company.
Your coins and tokens are useless.

Of course, crypto is p2p, meaning you can always trade with people.
And who knows, maybe you can find a sucker that will pay for them, but that is highly unlikely.
And, maybe someone will pick up the project a couple years down the road, but that is also highly unlikely.

The best thing to do is just leave them there in your wallet.
If it's annoying that you have these, you could always send them out to random wallets if you want.

The token will only become trash, but i suggest you save it, because we don't know what will happen in the future, at first I thought so too. Seeing the current market conditions, it is rather difficult for developers to do something so that the price of their tokens is not destroyed, so, wait and be patient so you don't regret later.

In this case, it will simply be impossible to buy a coin or a token in a mass degree, of course, people can sell tokens and coins by agreement through guaranteed trustees, which is what the stock exchange is like.

You will lose your money, because if the coin would not appear on the market, you will not be able to sell it and to get at least something back. Try to avoid such projects and be more selective with ICOs in which you are taking part.

If the token is not released to the stock exchange, to sell it on here - forkdelta (but not always, and for a very small price). As far as I know, it is impossible to remove a token from the wallet.

This depends on the project and what its intentions are for the custom token. A project could simply refuse to list its token for different reasons. However, when a token isn't listed as a tradeable asset, it looses its appeal and may subsequently lead to a loss of project interest from investors. A token is primarily supposed to be tradeable with other assets. This is the number one reason why people invest in projects to be able to exchange the custom tokens to fiat whenever there an appreciable value. Denying investors this one responsibility could result in adverse effects for the long term objectives of the project.

As well as I. I have a number of tokens which up to now there is no market. Tokens token are almost about 1 year old. I cannot delete the token from the MEW list and only as a collection and decoration of MEW without value.

The best way to avoid tokens that only meet MEW by not following low-value Bounties and Airdrops.
