Title: Which cryptocurrency wallet is the best?
Post by: vovanlau1 on September 21, 2018, 12:51:18 PM
There is no single best option available for everyone. One size doesn’t fit all and when it comes to cryptocurrency wallet, it’s important to consider the following variables:

· Which cryptocurrencies do you trade? Bitcoin or altcoins? How diversified is your portfolio?

· Are you a short-term or a long-term trader?

· How secure are your trading tools and devices and what is the security record of your considered wallet?

· What are the wallets associated costs?

· Is the wallet UI intuitive and user-friendly?

· How mobile and accessible is your wallet? Is it difficult to keep and easy to lose?

· Does it allow you to make quick purchases or sell-offs whenever needed? What is its latency?

Here are some popular wallets that are considered to be safe and reliable in different situations.

Single currency wallets. As a rule of thumb, going for an official currency’s wallet is always a good option. Here are the official wallets of major cryptocurrencies:

Bitcoin: Bitcoin Core Wallet, Mycelium or Electrum.

Ethereum: Ethereum Wallet or MyEtherWallet (Paper Wallet).

Litecoin: Litecoin-QT.

Dash: Dash Core.

NEO: Neon Wallet, NEO-CLI, NEO-GUI.

Most of the time, official wallets are easy to find on the company’s website.

Multicurrency wallets (software). Here are some of the popular multicurrency online purses.

Jaxx Wallet. An optimal crypto wallet software that offers both mobile and desktop applications. Use it to store your Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, Litecoin, Dash, Zcash and dozens of other cryptocurrencies.

Coinomi. Coinomi supports 64 cryptocurrencies and is one of the best mobile wallets on the market. The only downside is that at the moment it currently works with Android only.

Exodus. Exodus is a solid desktop wallet which lets you store Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, Litecoin, OmiseGo, Qtum, Dash, Bat, Aragorn and many other coins.

Fast Invest Wallet. Fast Invest is a quickly-growing European P2P loan operator established in 2012. Currently, the company is moving into P2P crypto loans and crypto trading markets and will launch a solid multicurrency crypto wallet for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple and Fast Invest token (FIT) holdings. The wallet is set to start on December 4th together with Fast Invest ICO.

Hardware wallets. Although more expensive, hardware wallets are considered to be one of the safest options for crypto investors.

KeepKey. Supports Bitcoin, Ehtereum and majority of other altcoins.

Ledger Blue. Supports Bitcoin, Ethereum and majority of other altcoins.

Trezor. Supports Bitcoin, Litecoin, DASH, Zcash, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic and other ERC-20 Tokens.

Digital Bitbox. Supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic and other ERC-20 tokens.

Cloud wallets. Although we stressed that online wallets can be dangerous, storing your coins on Coinbase and GDAX are safer than others. Coins in these exchanges are insured, thus providing a guarantee that you will be compensated even if the company is hacked.

A digital wallet may be the most important investment decision. Therefore, it’s worth to invest time and effort into choosing the right one. Although hardware wallets may seem expensive at first, at the moment, they offer the most complete cryptocurrency storage option, combining both safety and functionality. Nevertheless, there are some decent hot wallets as well. The final decision is always yours and you should stick with the wallet which lets you get a sweet good night’s sleep.

To me every crypto currency wallet is the best
It depends on the level of concentration from users

If you are careless and you use Trezor wallet or other hard core wallets you will get hacked easily

Safety of wallet all depends on the users

I think MEW wallets is the best to all coins to secure the scams of the long term. but it is your choice which have you use the wallet for the long term.

I think one of the most secure wallet is offline MEW.
You can buy a cheap laptop and use it always offline to generate offline transactions with MEW.
(And this laptop may be much cheaper then any hardware wallet.)
Use those generated transactions on the online PC to send ETH and tokens.
In this case your private keys will be always offline and safe...

Good compilation, just for everyone that uses Ethereum, be aware that one of the basics to protect yourself is using metamask. It will signs transactions on your client side so you will never be sending keys through the internet. It may mean the difference between being hacked or not and is free to install.

I use MEW and everything is fine.  Metamask is a good extension for security.  Security comes first in the field of cryptoinvestment.  I want to buy Ledger or Trezor.

Im mostly in eth and erc based tokens so mew works well for me, i do use coinbase as well for btc, ltc etc, there are new exciting universal wallets are also being developed where we can store all kinds of coins and tokens, once developed i will try to see if they are really good and then may start using them for example, ethos, pillar etc.

If we talk about the security of wallets, then there is nothing better than a hardware wallet, their only problem is that they can store only a certain coins. If you are a bounty hunter, then you will definitely have to use MEW.

Great article, For Ethereum and ERC20 tokens, I've always been a fan of Metamask because of it's extra security layer, but recent MEWconnect by MEW is really great, secure and easy to use. I'd recommend you to give it a try, it might come in par with Metamask wallet.

I have various coins these are Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Eos and Stellar. I Have stored Ethereums in mywetherwallet. You can use the myetherwallet even if you are offline. I store my other coins on Binance. I really trust this exchange. But you dont want storing coins on exchange, you can use ledger nano wallet. But I warn you this wallet isnt free.

There are no good or bad wallets, and if we discuss the security of the wallet, then of course the offline wallet will be much safer than any threat of phishing or hackers but you have to save the wallet safely, because if you remove the offline wallet, then there is no other way to return your coin or token except by finding the wallet

For now the MYtherwallet wallet is still the best. Besides being easy, low cost is fast and safe. I still use MEW.
Even though my MEW wallet was stolen, it was purely my fault. it is the carelessness of users who cannot maintain user keywords.

Yes, if I use and create wallet on applications or software that allows to create wallet. If those applications have pre-installed spy software, my wallet will be able to hack at any time

Why looking for the best crypto wallet when you have someone who introduced you into cryptocurrency, I'm very sure the first thing the person will talked about is the wallet where your earned coin will be kept, so now tell me has anything happen to the one he or she introduced to you.? Ur answer will be No which means all Wallet for coin are safe, the only problem u might have is you trying to find a new one which is not recommended by people.

What are you talking about man, not clear totally! What is the Ethereum wallet and what is my Ethereum wallet? However, Maybe you wanted to tell myetherwallet, but this is not the best, this is just a below average crypto wallet. The best online wallet for ERC20 Tokens is Metamask, Imtoken wallet also good, but I would not prefer Myetherwallet alone. You need to use myetherwallet with Metamask, or you can use A hardware wallet and this is the best wallet for every crypto coins like BTC, EOS, XRP, EC20 coins and all.

metamask is still the best ethereum based wallet I've ever used, because this will make it safe, and the possibility of being stolen will be very small, even though other wallets have a good level of security, but metamask has given me satisfaction

For me, the best cryptocurrency wallet is a hard wallet. You don't need to download the app and the blockchain like using the client wallet in your pc.
Using hard wallet can makes you own most coins and with a good security for your wallet. You can use exchange wallet to store all most crypto, but i don't recommend it.

Wallet Electrum. This is a Bitcoin purse that combines both beginner-friendly and functional functions for professional investors. Electrum encrypts your own locks and supports cold storage. In addition, this wallet also provides the ability to multi-sign with the usage of resources on your machine.
yes, electrum is the right alternative choice and what I like most about electrum is having a mobile version that we can have on our smartphones.

The safety is important issue nowadays. even though investors put their coins in MEW, it usually has been hacked.
There is one exchange which users can select to rate of cold wallet from 70% to 100% for safety.
Check the cold wallet using exchange here ruby-x.io thanks :)

For the satisfaction guaranteed, I guess myetherwallet was just enough to secure all of my token holdings. However, it there's another wallet application that can be run offline or can be synced like other trusted one, I am willing to use it independently.

Electrum is not a bad wallet at all and so is Exodus since they are both desktop wallet and electrum even having a mobile wallet as well. The thing however, with desktop wallet is that, your funds are as secured as your desktop and in the case where you end up experiencing some malware or some hack into the system based on some vulnerabilities, they can still be accessed.

This is why having a good strong antivirus is something very important with the usage of desktop wallets, and if you are actually to consider the price you have to pay for good antivirus yearly, I would really just go for a hardware wallet if it has to be because I want to keep my funds secured, that is even a lot better in terms of security.

Hardware wallet's are the best to use and android wallets too.

Some wallets that I use are good, like blockchain, luno, imtoken. From that 3 wallet, I've never felt lost or hacked by anyone and I think it's safe to be safe if we don't share the privacy key, pin or any access to the wallet by someone else.

Ethereum wallet is the best wallet for most of the altcoins hold or transactions. For safety, Blockchain.com is the best ever wallet of Bitcoin and Ethereum than Ethereum wallet.

My personal favourite is Exodus. My  first impression of Exodus was just wow. I mean you just need to check that how advance the online web-based cryptocurrency wallet they are offering to the users.

My ether wallet is the best wallet when compare to other wallets. Ian using this wallet for long time still I didn't face any problem. It is the best wallet for altcoins and this wallet is very secure to hold the tokens. Most of the users use this wallet for transaction. Another wallet is coinbase it is also one of the secured wallet and easy to use. The transaction speed is high and the transaction fees also low. Now it supports more coins and this is one of the trustworthy wallet used by many users.

Most of wallets are similar, so it is the question of taste. For example, some people like my ether wallet, while others consider it as one of the most inconvinient solutions they have ever come across.

Now it is hard to say, because there are a lot of different wallets now. But not all wallets guarantee maximum security and fast transaction speed. but I can advise MEW

I did not use most of the cryptographic wallets listed above, MEW is enough for me, because basically I have  tokens and ETH.  I do not have a lot of coins, so I keep some on the stock exchange, those that can not be stored in MEW.

Probably it would be better to clarify what exactly is meant, because I think that here, for example, ERC20 tokens are meant, it seems to me that in this case MEW, which has already been tested many times, is best suited.

I think this depends on the needs, if we have a large amount of bitcoin then saving offline wallet is certainly better, but if we are active then web wallets like blockchain.info are easy and safe wallets.

Bitcoin Core BitCore is the official wallet as most dealed known app to access the BTC blockchain and store funds into it. I can't deny that electrum is also a reputable one but it still has some lacks that need to be overwhelmed by the time progress.
Cold Storage with LedgerNano or any other one, would be the safest way to keep your BTC safe as much as possible.

the problem for cryptocurrency wallets is still good using myetherwallet. because the wallet is still used by many people. but if you want to save long-term, you can use an offline wallet like nano ledger or trezzor where it can be used as one of the good options for keeping assets safe

For ether, myetherwallet is the best and very versatile and safe wallet I have seen for keeping ethereum. Myetherwallet is not  actually in the sense  of keeping your ether on your computer or other server somewhere. With myetherwallet, you  have access to your coin on the blockchain and it is safe on the blockchain.

This is one of the most informative posts I am reading here in quite some time. I also consider following while choosing a wallet :

1) Fees  being charged on transactions.

2) How easy is the interface.

3) Frequent updates occurring on the wallet or not.

The best cryptocurrency wallet in my opinion is :
1. ETH and ERC20 Token Wallet
the best wallet for storing ERC20 Token and ETH in my opinion is https://www.myetherwallet.com, MetaMask and Eidoo (for iOS/Android).
2. NEO and NEP5 Token Wallet
the best wallet for storing NEO and NEP-5 Token in my opinion is https://neotracker.io/wallet.
3. Bitcoin
if for Bitcoin I would suggest that you use the Electrum Wallet.

I only recommend you this wallet because I only used the wallet and I chose the wallet because I think the wallet is very easy to use (simple).

I'm using Exodus since it's really a great working app and user friendly. And, i'm using their own wallet for the altcoins since it much better and i don't want to put all my tokens in one wallet even if i have their backups. I;m just making sure for it.
Safety is really a top notch and something every investor is after with the news about hacking and phishing attacks going all around these days. The best way to keep your assets safe to me is just going the cold storage way or making use of a hardware wallet.

Hardware wallets have all the information stored on a single device and you do not have to worry about it being hacked or something. The safety is guaranteed unlike when you are comparing a desktop wallet, mobile wallet, or an online wallet which they all can easily be hacked if you end up making your device compromised.

To be quite honest, there are really some good wallets we have in the crypto market. For me however, I have come to really love the Luno Wallet, and the MYetherwallet. these are the two main wallets that I make use of, unless of course, in special situations. They are safe, convenient, and easy to use. Highly recommendable too.

It seems to me that it is best to use cold wallets that you can buy today very easily and the cost today is not as big as it can be at all, given the value of cryptocurrencies. Therefore, you need to use proven options.

for me, the best wallet is Electrum. first, it has a user-friendly interface. secondly, you do not need to download the entire transaction database. although it is for btc, it has wallets for other coins as well.
