Months of hard work, about half a year comes to a great end with the result of the beginning Era V3. Lets prepare for the new Era, the GlobalToken hardfork. But first of all let us introduce the project and give some basic facts: 1) GlobalToken started provably fair, with no ICO, no premine and no funding! It was completely volunteer work! 2) GLT started as a small, humble project and has been turned into a serious blockchain project with a big goal that is unique and not a copy and paste coin. 3) Our vision is to create a worldwide usable cryptocurrency, that is fast, mineable for everyone and requires less fees. The whole thing turned out into a real interest and to grow into the TOP-100 cryptocurrencies one day. We are a Bitcoin based cryptocurrency, that has existed since December 2016. The name has been chosen because we want to provide a global public, and an actively maintained blockchain usable for everyone. Our community is growing, but it takes some time to grow to a community of thousands of members. The start with no premine was nice, but we noticed that this is not the way to grow big. Since everything is very expensive now in the crypto branch, we decided to overhaul the whole GlobalToken source code. We started in 2017 with a mobile wallet (Android) and then integrated Segwit in August 2017 successfully. After the upgrade there was a long gap, and we decided to overhaul the wallets. We discussed for months what we wanted to integrate. Then we got a handful features and began coding in March 2018. Previously in February this year we merged Bitcoin Core Source Code 0.16, to make it work with the newest version. And after 6 months of really hard and focused work we finally were able to release the V3 Wallets now, including: Multialgorithm: GlobalToken is the first Coin that allows multialgo with 30 different pow-algorithms! (our vision is to give every miner a home) --> including 5 Brand new POW mining algorithms! Multishield: A better retargeting system, based on Digibyte's Multishield; It protects the chain against profit-switching pools. We increased the Blocksize to 10 MB and the TX-size to 1 MB, which makes GLT able to process 100x more transactions than Bitcoin! Merge mining: We decided to integrate Auxpow, and also overhauled auxpow to make it work with Hybrid POW/POS Coins + Equihash/Zhash (Auxpow 2.0) Blockchain self-funding: also known as treasury, dev-tax or founders-reward. To grow to a big cryptocurrency, we must work excellently and professionally on coming upgrades, which requires funding. Masternodes: We integrated a long awaited feature! Masternodes are included in the GlobalToken hardfork! Instantsend: To make GLT working as a real instant confirmation cryptocurrency! Based on Dash's Instantsend, GLT is able to process Instantsend transactions and protect them against double-spends. This makes GLT usable for commerce. An attacker would need 51% of every mining algorithm. 2) Multishield retargeting system ✓ (based on Digibyte's digishield / multishield retargeting) 3) 10 MB block size, 1 MB tx-size ✓ at average tx-size of 226 bytes, this means we can process 44247 transactions every minute! 4) Mergemining based on namecoins auxpow ✓ improved to make it work with POS hybrid coins like peercoin ✓ working for all 30 hardfork algorithms, including zhash and equihash. // Equihash may not work if the coinbase auxpow transaction is generated as overwinter-tx ✓ Auxpow is enabled for all hardfork algos, and gives additional security from parent chains. ✓ Auxpow makes it possible to economize your free GLT's for a masternode collateral 5) Treasury: To pay new Exchanges, invest in marketing or pay developer fees, we need the treasury. ✓ 15% of the coinbase value must be paid as treasury, to the given address in getblocktemplate. ✓ It is a network rule, if the hardfork is activated. ✓ A company lead by the dev, will include GLT as its project to bring GlobalToken and coming blockchain projects to new heights! 6) Masternodes: The masternodes make the network secure, because they must run a full node. ✓ They also verify instant-transactions, which makes the chain usable eg. to buy a cup of coffee! ✓ Masternodes get 25% of Coinbase reward, to get paid for their 24/7 Node availability. ✓ The minimum GLT collateral amount is 50,000 GLT, which needs 15 Blockchain confirmations. 7) Instantsend ✓ As described above it makes the chain more secure and protects against double spend attacks because masternodes lock all inputs. ✓ Makes GLT usable for a real payment use cases, where the transactions are confirmed in under 1 second. 8) Sporks ✓ Helps to disable Network features like Instantsend if problems occur e.g the chain becomes stuck. ✓ Helps in upcoming releases to pay only upgraded Masternodes, which increases the update handling. Additional specs: Blocktime: 60 seconds for all algos, for 1 algo 30 minutes (30 minutes / 30 algos = 1 minute blockchain block speed.) ✓ Makes the blockchain more decentralized, everyone can mine with their equipment ranging from CPUs to ASICs! ✓ 30 minute blocktime per algorithm reduces the inflation, which means a better distribution and no big-whale miners! ✓ Auxpow can be setup with no additional costs for pool operators, which is a win-win situation for chain security and pool/miner profits. There are some additional steps for Pool operators or in-wallet miners. If you mine with Zhash or Equihash inwallet, it could take very long to generate solutions. So it is recommend to not mine Equihash & Zhash in the wallet. The current block reward is 100 GLT and halves each 840,000 blocks. When the hardfork is activated, you must pay treasury & masternode fee. If you try to mine a block, the node will remind you that you did not accept the agreement yet, and will display you all details for each network. Mainnet details: 15% Founders-Fee / Treasury, 25% Masternode reward. You will find a JSON-object called 'treasury' and 'masternode' in getblocktemplate. There is the raw script pubkey for the GLT address and the amount. For treasury, it is recommend to use the given script pubkey or directly 'hex', because not every Pool CMS supports Script/Multisig addresses. The 'hex' output can be added directly to your coinbase transaction, it is the raw Txoutput of the treasury. You must deduct then the fees from coinbasevalue, so miners will have 60% left at the end in mainnet as block reward. That means for pool operators, you can freely mine GLT together with other altcoins. Every algorithm of GLT is supported for merge mining. Except for Equihash, if the parent chain uses overwinter tx, the blocks cannot be decoded on GLT chain. AUXPOW 2.0: With the hardfork we introduced a small change into auxpow. There was a problem in coinbase encoding, because Hybrid Coins "POS Coins" uses nTime in the coinbase transaction. We enabled this, so POS (hybrid coins) can also be mined with GLT, like peercoin or others. Additionally GLT is able to be merged mined with every Zhash coins. The customized string will be saved into auxpow to validate the parent chain. As told above, masternodes get a 25% reward of GlobalTokens from the miners. The minimum collateral of a GLT masternode is 50,000 GLT, that needs 15 blockchain confirmations. The task of a masternode is to keep the chain more decentral, and he validates and locks the Instant transactions. The team of GlobalToken was able to block the hacker amounts. The hacker generated about ~1,700,000 GLT within about half hour! So we decided to take countermeasures. All the mined transactions to both addresses have been blocked in the blockchain. If the hacker tries to redeem them, the whole network rejects his transactions and he is never able to spent them. So we could say, the coins are burned now. Because of this there is phase from block height 400,000 - 416,448 where the block reward is 200 GLT, to mine the lost coins back, and pay trustful, honest and loyal miners. This is a big reputation for GLT, we are not just sitting there, we are improving. Anyways this issue is fixed with the hardfork which gets activated in less than a day. We have implemented "Digishield" which is a feature that does not allow time warp attacks. The name "Token" means a piece of a currency .. which it is .. every GLT is a piece of the whole projects supply. There were no sales becasue GLobalToken was fairly launched and there was no ICO or premine or any other method of launching that will leave the creators of the coin with any funds whatsoever.GlobalToken is not a company. It is a semi-decentralized cryptocurrency which has been made ideal for fast online payments with decentralized mining as it has 30 well tested mining algorithms. Here is a bit about GlobalToken. This being said there is a plan to create a company that will foster the development of GlobalToken however this is being done appropriately, independently and deligently. Easy as that - we got 30 algos that can independently move the chain but they affect each other a bit as well .. if in theory 29 algos were unused - we would have a block about every 30 minutes instead of every minute. Same time the blockchain would realise the other 29 algos didnt generate a block in time and the diff would get retargeted to make it easier for miners. We retarget every block! so after a few blocks all other algos would be really easy to mine and you can be sure there will be somebody that will grab some easy GLT :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This scenario was heavily theoretical! GlobalToken got AuxPOW (mergemining) this means, if you are a pool operator with some technical knowledge you can use the hashrate of your pool for other coins for GLT as well and mine GLT nearby for free without affecting the primary mining. Theres a lot of pools doing this already so chances to have 50% of the algos unused is very unlikely and even that would mean - we have a block every 15 minutes :) i made an overview of the mining algos and the current difficulty. --> https://cryptopowered.club/mining/ (https://cryptopowered.club/mining/) This will be refreshed every 3 minutes and if you are interested you can have a look at the page several times a day and you will notice the difficulty is always changing to make the chain as smooth as possible! Astralhash Globalhash Jeonghash Padihash Pawelhash you can mine them in wallet directly edit globaltoken.conf add a line like algo=astralhash and you need a line like acceptdividedcoinbase=1 this line is your acknowledgement to pay masternodes and the dev fee from the block reward (this will happen automatically). after restarting your wallet go to debug console and type generate 20 999999999 this will do following .. it tries to generate up to 20 blocks with 999'999'999 generated hashes. if you find 20 blocks first, miner will stop if you generated those alsmost 1000 million hashes - it will stop. if you found a block in this time - you get the block reward. thats all the magic! You can change the values of "generate XX YYYYYYYYYY" for sure to your needs. while the wallet is mining a clean shutdown of the wallet or use of console is not possible. so if you plan to use the console or shutdown wallet - dont let the last nuber be to high. on my pc the example line takes about 11 hours. After the Wallet is up and running on next payment cycle (usually every 30 minutes i think) it will see a lot of neccesary payments in the redis database and start spreading them. so there will be a jump from "a lot of" pending blocks to almost 0 or even 0. nothing should be lost in this case! This pool runs on 30 independent wallets over various servers :) so if 1 is crashing - not a big deal. Biggest problem you will have - nothing to hash and no rewards. First of all, we are glad that you are here and that you are a part of the GLT Community. I just want to give you a short overview what is planned and what is happening in the background. 1) Android Wallet: Yes, it is still in progress, but it is harder then expected. The problem is that there is no existing Equihash / Zhash implementation for Android / Java, thats why it's delayed. We are working on it. We keep you updated. 2) Lots of requests about the Whitepaper: We will work directly after the Android Wallet on the Whitepaper. 3) Core Upgrade: A Core Upgrade is planned with the integration of network hashrates for all algos. It will get some more fixes like Initial loading speedup and we will merge Bitcoin Core Code up to 0.18 into GLT. 4) Masternode Quorum: Maybe some of you noticed the DASH MN Quorum update, we will consider this upgrade as well. 5) Algo extension: We thought to extend multialgo from 30 algos to 60. You can suggest the algos, you want to integrate and we will consider them, if possible. 6) The AuxFork: With GLT 3.0 we introduced the Multialgorithm system and auxpow, with it's goal, to stop dumping and distribute the coins better instead to big mining whales. Since some pools started merge mining for lots of algos, and are not paying out the coins, this goal has not met. More and more algos are unprofitable and miners stop mining. That's why we thought about a next hardfork that will: - Change the merge mining rewards. On merge mining Blocks, the Merge miner will get 25% and the Masternode 60% (Change of the reward distribution) - A brand new feature will be coded, that will regulate the auxpow. For example if the diff is low, more merge mining blocks will be accepted, to keep the chain secure. --> The target it to allow every fifth block only for auxpow per algo, that means that there must be min. 4 blocks mined normally, without auxpow until auxpow is allowed again. --> The most Pools with merge mining are profit switching /yiimp pools, that are just selling the merge mined GLTs instead of fairly paying them out to the miners/workers. One month ago we announced the upcoming hardfork that is planned. At the current situation with huge dumps, and lesser mining chances for miners, we decided to split the hardfork and we will work on it asap. The GLT Hardfork 3.1 will include: - 60 algos - For now no auxpow, we will integrate a spork to turn auxpow off and on in cases, the chain would be more secure - Integration of algo hashrates - Initial loading improvements ETAs: - Coding on this fork is estimaed from April 2019 - May 2019 - Release of the new Wallets (GLT Core v3.1) is estimated right after the Coding phase (~ 15th May 2019) - Activation of the Fork is 4 weeks after the release (~17th June 2019) The auxpow rule with 5 blocks and intelligent auxpow will be integrated by end of this year. The GLT Hardfork 3.2 will include: - The newest Bitcoin Core Code merged into GLT - Full auxpow database (security improvement) - Intelligent auxpow regulator (the 5 block rule plus special scenarious will allow more auxpow blocks in case the nodes detects too much blocks from a single order) - Masternodes will help to auto regulate the auxpow system and to keep the auxpow data secure. You're supposed to click on Tools -> Masternode Configuration File so you can link the wallet app to the masternode, but clicking on the button doesn't do anything. What's the name supposed to be for the Windows wallet masternode config file? While I'm here, a couple of things... - Each time I have to restart the Windows wallet it takes a minimum of 20 minutes before I can access it. - Getting the 50K GLT into the Masternode wallet was no small task. It took me 3 hours to: 1. Find an exchange that had GLT and served customers in the USA. 2. Get signed up and authenticated (KYC) so I could use the exchange. 3. Move BTC from my main wallet to the exchange. 4. Make the trade from BTC to GLT. 5. and finally move the 50K GLT to my masternode wallet. If the hope is to eventually get the general population to start using crypto as their everyday currency, things are going to have to improve A LOT. Dealing with any crypto at this point is an exercise in hoop jumping and just a general pain in the .... Until it becomes seamlessly easy to move from Fiat to Crypto and back no matter what coin, it's only going to remain useful to those of us that mine and trade it. At this point, just to keep up with the number of coins I deal with, I have 7 wallet apps and have signed up on 8 exchanges. This can't be what was originally intended for digital currency... </rant> Sorry, needed to get that out of my system. It's been a rough week. :) [UPDATE] I managed to get the Linux masternode and Windows wallet synched by editing the conf files by hand and restarting them both. GlobalToken Core v.3.3.0 has been released now. Please upgrade your nodes as soon as possible. The hardfork occurs at this block height this time, so your node should be running on the new version, before the chain reachs this height. From today, based on 1440 blocks daily, the hardfork should occur in about 23 days. Whats new? Beginning with block 2107040, the treasury system will be disabled. All blocks are divided between masternodes and miners. Means 75% goes to the miners, and 25% to Masternodes.
