According to the news in CNBC, Google terminates its comprehensive ban on crypto-money ads and plans to allow regulated exchanges in the United States and Japan to purchase ads. This new advertising policy will come into force by October.

Facebook also started allowing some types of cryptocurrency-related advertising back on its platform.

It hasn't really been ended, they are just relaxing some of their rules, supposedly they still will not allow ICO ads of any sort, regardless whether the company is legit or not. I think over time, Google, Facebook, Twitter etc will simply enhance their registration procedures to ensure that potential advertisers meet some strict guidelines, e.g. registered company, US/EU based etc, basically anything that ensures accountability.

it can be good news in the crypto world because I think with this there will be many investors who will realize the potential of cryptocurrenies, and with new investors, there will be a significant price increase in the crypto world, I hope this is a start good for cryptocurrencies

With growing acceptance of cryptocurrency by governments, so ail platforms would likely soften restrictions on crypto ads.

This is very good news. As far as I remember, after the ban on advertising, many stopped believing in cryptocurrency and the rate went down and became unstable. I think that in October there will be a new burst of cryptocurrency into life.

Good.  It was a negative mark against them for even banning it in the first place.  Instead of an all-out ban, they should choose to carefully evaluate ads to screen out obvious scams.  Of course, there will still be scams but Google should at least acknowledge some level of required ethical scrutiny of the ads they allow to be posted in their ad spaces.

The fact is that Google itself repeatedly takes part in financing projects related to crypto currency. Proceeding from this, I can argue that there will be no prohibition in the Google system for crypto currency.

That's good news but you should have posted the link here so we can read it's entirety, if they really now allow ads on their network about ICO I'm pretty sure they are now implementing a very strict rules and guidelines, because Facebook and Google are trusted advertising companies and they don't want to promote scam ICO this will harm their company.

This is good news to all crytocurrency enthusiast and this means that they already know the importance of this aspect, and its not the thing that can be controlled by anybody, so maybe they could start to adapt the so called blockchain technology in the future. So cheers for the success.

With legitimacy, regulations and policy-compliant cryptocurrency has a greater edge  in terms of recognition for Google ads with  billions of searches daily and it help a lot to other google users about the awareness of cryptocurrency. Facebook and Google is the best marketing grounds of today's online world so a strict implementation will filtered out the good and bad crytpo.

I would not count on it. Moreover, now that they're going to allow exchanges ads, some scammers will try to create fake websites and advertise on google. People who already use these exchanges will not notice it because they have the addresses stored in their browser's bookmarks but new users may be deceived.

That's a step forward and a good news,  I wish better rules are set for the exchanges that will go on and their. Because the rate at which exchanges are launched now,  it shows a lot will be scam.

Good to hear that update. However, ICO's are still banned to facebook and google. Hoping that ICO can also make advertisement. I think in order for ICO's to be advertised in social media, ICO's should be regulated such as setting rules and regulations in creating an ICO. They should do some thing to bring back the trust to ICO's.

I have not received official information, but if this is true then this is a very positive thing because then the development of the digital currency will be more active and increase very well. Google and Facebook are one of the very big markets, if digital currencies can be seen on these platforms, of course there will certainly be more people involved in using digital currencies. Good news like this can increase prices while increasing the volume of digital currency transactions. more and more investors will play an active role and this is a change towards a much better digital future.

This is a really good new for the crypto community. It will come out with its own crypto. what do you think people?

This will be a great news for everyone especially on the marketing team of upcoming and ongoing ICO's. Expect a good price by November as more people are being drawn to the crypto world. The timing was also great considering the fact the crypto is at high demand by December. This might be money generating on google's side and also facebook. I think there will be changes on and the rules will be strict for ads but its still better than being banned.  8)

It looks to me that these could be a good sign of potential bull runs in the next few months. Think about it, if these giants would allow crypto-ads again, bitcoin and many other altcoins and platforms could be heavily advertised again that might help in pulling in more users, investors and even traders. I find it funny how they banned all the scamming ICOs but they didn't ban the people who spam their "Get Rich Quick" programs on Google and Youtube.

There are hundreds of programs out there that promise to "make you rich quick by trading stocks" or "get rich with real estate", etc but in the end nobody actually makes any money off those and actually wastes their time and savings buying stocks or properties.

The only winners from those types of programs are the promoter and Google which makes money off the ads.

Well those sound like positive developments. I do understand they don't want to promote outright scams and can't put in due dilligence to research every project. I did feel like they were very heavy handed with the ad bans though.

Of course, this is good news, but I think that it will not greatly affect the market. The increased popularity of the crypto currency was last year, now everyone knows what bitcoin is, so advertising in Google will not be effective enough to attract new investors.

Their supposed to be ban on ads on crypto related advertisement were not successful and maybe it entailed them great loss so better for them to lift the ban on crypto ads.

We know that google itself is a business, maybe after seeing the potentials they are now realizing how big crypto industry was become inside the world wide web, numbers developers and advertisers are already here so the timing was good for their business just like what you just said December or the last quarter of the year is the perfect time for  developers to showed up and start advertising and use any platform and google will surely benefits.

Well, I suppose this is good news, but it is mostly inconsequential.
Google and facebook ads are terrible ways to advertise anyways.
I suppose it can raise the general awareness of crypto, but I highly doubt any of that will lead to people actually participating in the market.
If there was an ad on facebook about a certain stock you should trade, how many of you would actually click on the ad, then proceed to become a stock trader?

Also, crypto has basically become mainstream now anyways.
Not in implementation of course, we are many years away from that.
But basically everyone everywhere has heard of it and knows a bit about it.
however, allowing only regulated ads to run can help clean up crypto's scammy image i suppose.

They still ban ICO ads, only allow exchange ads. I think they still don't have good attitudes with crypto, they only want to compete with FB and share the advertising market, Facebook has allowed crypto exchange ads few months ago and Google won't let this big cake fall into Facebook.

This just goes to show how the future of Crypto is really looking good. Once these big companies see the true value, they will surely jump in or probably have their own type of coin or token.

As I know, it was never blocked before by Google - the ads about crypto. Google and Facebook just were very picky about letting advertise the cryptocurrency by setting up plenty of requirements to pass to be eligible to purchase the ad space on their platforms. But now apparently they decided to make money anyways. It doesn't matter what to advertise if it brings them an income. Finally, Google realized it.

Regulation is necessary due to the volatile nature of this market where scam ICOs appear on a regular basis. That news looks not true story, google just try to put a lot of restriction to their system. Maybe facebook has been lifting the ban from the ico and crypto related advertisement but not for google.

Actually Google and Facebook are very effective ways of advertising pretty much anything. Maybe they are bad for Crypto but do you know how many people use Facebook on a daily basis all around the world?

The ads are pretty effective also because it targets the correct audience and they can be more effective than TV ads these days. My wife and my parents who are horrible with anything related to computers usually end up doing business with ads they see on Facebook.

Google is ending its sweeping ban on cryptocurrency-related advertising and plans to allow regulated crypto exchanges to buy ads in the United States and Japan. The new policy starts in October.

Changes to product and financial service policies (October 2018)

Google Ads' policy regarding financial products and services will be updated in October 2018 to allow the exchange of crypto currencies regulated by laws to be advertised in the United States and Japan. Advertisers must get certification from Google for certain countries where their ads will be displayed. Advertisers can apply for certification after this policy takes effect in October. It is a good news indeed.Why will Google be foolish and lose the revenue banning crypto ads.Instead Google should regulate crypto ads by checking the credentials of the advertiser/project and see if they ads are deceptive /fraudulent or anyway scamming the investors .If Google stops publishing scammy ICOs and ponzi schemes it will be a great service to the society

They are also planning to create their own cryptocurrency.  Banning cryptocurrency related advertisment will lose their credibility in the community if they didn't lift the ban. If they want to enter the crypto they have to be a pro crypto and not anti cryptocurrency.

For me, this is the first call that the elite agreed on something. I think this is a very good signal, because it is a messenger of future growth.

For new ICO projects it is very good to advertise in Google because Google is the leading search engine in the world and unlimited people search Google in seconds. It seems to me that some large mass media sites started to pump up their information background with news about cryptocurrency, just because the collapse of the cryptocurrency world did not happen. There was a drop in prices by 3 times, but no more.

I was happy at first when hearing this news about Google lifting the crypto ban, but it's actually not a very big deal. It only affects USA and Japan markets + only the licensed and approved cryptocurrency exchanges can advertise themselves. So, nothing really changes to the majority of the crypto projects and ICO-s. It is a good sign though, and maybe they will start allowing some other projects in the future as well.
