Instruction:

Bitcoin Stash

The Bitcoin Stash team is comprised of a group of former Bitcoin Cash developers and community members that have become dismayed at the current outlook of BCH. We are sure that you are aware, but a multitude of factors show that there is disaster on the horizon for Bitcoin Cash. Bitcoin ABC is proposing a contentious hard fork for no reason, Craig “Faketoshi” Wright is moving ahead to fork his own coin (Bitcoin SV) out of self interest, and Bitmain has revealed an extremely large BCH holding which they intend to rid themselves of in their now controversial IPO.

As we see it, a price and hashrate collapse of the chain is inevitable. We have decided that we must take action now, to rid ourselves forever from the bad actors that plague this chain. We are planning to hard fork from Bitcoin Cash on November 15th. With the hard fork, we will not be increasing the maximum block size or following the tokenization/ICO platform roadmap of Bitcoin ABC. However, Bitcoin Stash will be implementing replay protection and continue using the SHA-256 mining algorithm. Additionally, Bitcoin Stash will incorporate merged mining with Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash.

With merged mining, Bitcoin Stash will solve the security issues that currently hamper Bitcoin Cash. As a minority chain, Bitcoin Cash is struggling to obtain substantial hash rate, and this has only been made worse following its recent decline in price. As of 9/25/18, the hash rate of Bitcoin Cash only totals about 6% of that of Bitcoin. The Bitcoin Cash hash rate has been continuously declining ever since a peak of roughly 15% of Bitcoin’s back in May of 2018, and we do not see this situation improving. Merged mining will lead to Bitcoin Stash obtaining a much needed higher hash rate since the chain will consist of Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, and Bitcoin Stash miners.

As a result, there will be three benefits that will be immediately realized. First, Bitcoin Stash will be less susceptible to a 51% attack which has recently plagued other chains such as Bitcoin Gold and Verge. Second, a single entity such as Jihan Wu’s Bitmain or Craig Wright’s CoinGeek will have a difficult time forcing any consensus breaking changes as they now must muster a much higher hash rate to do so. And thirdly, merged mining will also increase security on Bitcoin since miners will see greater profitability and will no longer have to choose between mining one chain and missing out on the other. Because of this, Bitcoin Stash will not only be a more secure and decentralized version of Bitcoin Cash, but it will also benefit the current miners of Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash.

After the fork, Bitcoin Cash holders will be able to obtain an equivalent amount of our coins if they hold the private keys to their wallet.

Merged Mining
Bitcoin Stash is a merge mineable cryptocurrency that utilizes SHA256 for its mining algorithm. This means that it can be merge mined with other SHA256 coins like Bitcoin an Bitcoin Cash. Merge mining is a process where a miner is able to mine multiple cryptocurrencies at the same time. All that is required for a miner is to add 48 bytes of data to the coinbase of the parent block.

A spin off of BCash? Because? What is the need to make a fork? Anyone is free to make their own coin, but could at least use all that motivation with the name Bitcoin and act in the core, what do you think? The mustache in the symbol of this coin was chosen for what reason? I have a little question! Will the fork be 1:1? Will the supply be the same? The amount not exchanged will be available for mining?

But I will have to agree with you, i think we need to have certain regulation of "fork" or we'll have a fork of a fork of a fork of a fork in a near future and none really solve a problem of the former.

If any dev wanted to create a new and better chain, just create a whole new one without having the "predecessor" name for whatever obscure reason.

Another fork that brings minor changes. Without community and without large money, I think will go on the same list as other bitforks that did not bring something new.

If you want to ensure that you get Bitcoin Stash, send your Bitcoin Cash to a wallet which you can control before the hard fork happen.  We can't control what exchange platforms will do with your Bitcoin Stash. It's up to their discretion.  ;)

A fork of a stupid fork just to have another stupid useless coin, how awesome is that. Why not just start a real thing from scratch! You guys are very stupid to a point that you do not even release how much you are hurting Cryptocurrency image. This kind of forks is not different than the scam projects we are seeing every day, the only difference is that this forks will always find supporters because people will just support anything promise them something free.

There may be some network problems and the nodes may have trouble syncing.

You could give BSH Bitcoin level security using Komodo's delayed proof of work consensus mechanism, it would only cost a few hundred $$ per year, and it would literally make BSH as secure as Bitcoin, so no re-org attacks or 51% attacks, BUT, without needing any centralised checkpoints, and without needing to brown nose ecosystem players like exchanges, or bother with proof of social media.

Raad the dPoW whitepaper, I think dPoW would make BSH a real contender!

I didn't see any support from big exchanges for this fork it seems I won't get any coin because of storing on Binance. What is the status of this fork nobody talking about this coin let us see how they will make it list on Binance.

Interesting argument and opinion by OP for the existence of this fork. But there can only be one Bitcoin wearing that Bitcoin label. Every other alt should grow into its own identity instead of ripping off. Just look at Dash, LTC and the likes

Stash will be a good alternative to SV and ABC forks. Their hashwar and controversies are harmful to cryptocurrency market.
We believe what BCH users really need is a hard fork that won't be manipulated by companies like CoinGeek and Bitmain.

And of course! Stash is an indepedent chain with its own purpose.

 if you still can't connect to a Bitcoin Stash node, try typing in the console "addnode 104.248.124.131 onetry"





It may be possible! but you will have to run the command "invalidateblock 00000000000000000102d94fde9bd0807a2cc7582fe85dd6349b73ce4e8d9322" to roll back to the fork height using the same console.

I restarted the chain download, 177 blocks downloaded in 2 hours.

On the "Peers" tab I can see only one node appear, but it disappears within a second (and reappear).

Firewall is off, nothing else is running on that machine (I have the same issue on one other computer)

what's your strategy on block size and TPS... are you following the BSV plans?

We will evaluate the best plan from SV, BCH, and BTC and incorporate it into ours. So far we have not seen anything useable from BSV and we do not expect faketoshi to produce anything.  ;)

Good news!

Bstash on Tor addnodes will soon be a part of and featured at https://tornull.org/ (to which I'm a contributor). We focus on further protecting Tor users as well as limiting potential 'abuse' issues from within the Tor Network - all without logging, reporting, blocking or tracking anyone whatsoever.

This service will be expanded to new and old (mostly privacy focus coins) that I have touched base with in the past or run servers for currently. We will of course be accepting donations in BTC and BSH. We will also be publishing set-up guides.

BSV now intends to create an 'Immutable Evidence Locker' of your data and your related transactions. This is wrong. Don't use it. Even Governments and Enterprise won't use BSV on this basis. See CSW's twitter.

Furthermore, the BSV network will likely become heavily centralized with a very BIG data blockchain that only a few individuals companies will only be able to afford to run ($20,000+ machines etc.,)

Imagine trying to store the data from every .torrent ever created (the actual data, not the kb file!) onto a single blockchain. It will very likely become a centralized behemoth, with single points of failure. You can't even 'prune' the blocks! It's the exact opposite of low-latency networking and decentralization effects in original Bitcoin. So, good luck with all that BSV! Also, you cannot have a middle without having edges.

what's the plan with Stash? Aside from mining, what else is in the plans? Nothing is moving on the exchange... just wondering....

OK clearly developer interest has waned here along with forum / community interest ... I had hoped that folks might support a bitcoin old-timer through hard times here, but alas no.

My Bstash nodes (along with the Tor Bridges) will therefore be terminated on 31st May 2019. Sad times.  :'(

We have interest in BSH and have a working alpha version of our app using testnet but I have no idea as to the goals of the devs for BSH, how functional OP_RETURN is and which BSV changes will be implemented... so in that regard we're also waiting to hear about the BSH plans...
