I don't really know what happened. But I noticed seeing lot of people as newbies, and I can't do any signature campaign again. what should I do, to gain my rank back. Please help if you have an idea. This was enforced by theymos to stop the huge amount of spam that is happening in the Bitcoin & Altcoin discussion forums. Check this out: Due to excessive garbage-posting, you now need 1 merit to be a Jr Member. All existing Jr Members who didn't meet the requirement were demoted. Also, newbies can no longer set any signature or personal text. Note that this does not affect: - PM rate-limiting, which is based purely on activity & whitelisted status. - "You must wait ___ seconds...", which is based purely on activity & whitelisted status. But it does affect: - Voting in polls - Patroller jurisdiction - The "ignore newbie PMs" option. - "The body is omitted from this email because the sender is a newbie." - BBCode limits - Reduced-accuracy link filtering - Board restrictions Many of these limitations can be eliminated with a copper membership (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote). In particular, you can set a signature at Member level if you wear a copper membership. One reason that I was hesitant to do this before is that there are an awful lot of newbie restrictions, and I don't want the forum to be unwelcoming to good newbies. I'll think about tying some of those to activity instead of rank in the future. With help from DdmrDdmr, I just added 36 new merit sources, which should help newbies achieve the requirement. I had the same problem.

But there is still a way to pay copper member on your current account with 15$ which is equivalent to member. It's just like unlocking your account. I think you can find it in settings

Post by: Fuhre on October 13, 2018, 03:35:10 PM This is a system of emphasis for everyone to be more serious in discussion so what you need to do is make something that you think is very useful for everyone and it's good to put a quality word, don't worry it can be changed with your process and seriousness in make a post, of course if you want to raise your rank you need 1 gift from someone who they think is good because everyone is different in responding to every other post, not complaining that there are still many people out there who experience things like that, I hope that all members are more care for those who have thought hard in making a post, so don't give up, it's still a long process that we make in the future.

You have to post constructive posts and many community interests, and the high rank member or administrator will transfer merit to you.

You should need new rules. You'll need a merit to break a newbie, this things applied due to many people create multiple accounts and joining many bounties at the same time. If you have a Junior Member account, it is a mandatory condition to receive 1 merit. If you have any friends on this forum, you can ask them to give you some merits to promote again. But there is a new rule that theymos brought up and to at least be able to get back to be a junior member, you need to have at least 1 merit and all the Junior members before the merit was introduced was demoted to newbies, but all you need is 1 merit actually and if you are a good poster, that should not be anything hard to get actually. Someone has shared the update in the thread and you can take your time to go read it up and understand why this was really done. Well that was unfortunate for you. Because even with the number of your activities, you still need at least 1 merit to be a jr. member. And as I have learned, it was hard to earn one. Get merit by making a useful topic or you need to actively participate in topics and then there is an opportunity to get merit. I think this is a total cleaning BTC members.

You don't need to worry as it is proven that the people here are appreciative to those who post at a high quality. The forum needs to do it because there are a lot of Jr.Member accounts and they need to filter it out. Life is not over for you since there's still social media campaign that you can be part of even if your rank is a newbie.

Just be helpful on this forum, write great posts and you will be rewarded with merit. You can also reach Member rank or higher, if your post would be really helpful to community.
