Title: Transferring of wealth from the impatient to the patient!
Post by: arpon11 on October 16, 2018, 05:44:39 PM
I will like to say the plain truth about what I have think laid ahead of us as an investors, traders and speculators on cryptocurrencies market. Many of us that know about cryptocurrencies and bitcoin since 2010 and 2011 and did not see any reason to buy and hold till 2017 before selling will testify that impatient is the reason why they are not millionaire in the local currency.
in cryptocurrencies market we are witnessing transfer of wealth and this transfer is been done through creating a system that make some group of people selling their holding because of the fear of what the future hold. The wise one are buying and hold for 2 to 3 years before thinking to sell.
if you want to be a future millionaire  and billionaire? then think on how important it is for you to keep holding and patient with the market and in 2 to 3 years to come if you will not be in money, this money always come from the impatient one.
Goodluck to you friend.

I digress. There are cases in which holding for too long causes an investment to lose its value, and even if bitcoin and crypto has repeatedly rise over several occasions and broke their previous records, how sure are we that the next time around we will be reaping the same amount just like what we had back then? Not that I'm against hodlers, but we can never be sure of crypto and bitcoin holding their value for too long. Diversifying one's investment is still king for financial literacy, as you always have a fail-safe when things get rough. Hodling long-term is okay, but putting all your money in it is not.

Hey MR Doom you should leave this forum because you obviously don't support crypto.

Why will you say he/she should leave this forum? It seems to me that you don't want to hear the truth or maybe, you don't have good knowledge of what investment is all about. Crypto currency is not basically meant to be hold forever and you should know that all investors in the crypto currency market are out to make profit from their investment.
Holding is not the only best way of increasing crypto currency market value but ADOPTION of crypto currency is the only way that value will appreciate. The higher the demand for Bitcoin/crypto currency the higher its market value if you ever do basic economics.

He's just offering an alternative opinion to get paid. He does support bitcoin miners because he's getting paid to make his posts and then (likely, based on his comments) sells his bitcoin for fiat...and both transactions pay a miner.

Yes, there's been a huge wealth creation event associated with Bitcoin. Not sure that it's a transfer as much as it is a creation. By hodling bitcoin and watching it appreciate many are creating wealth (on paper at least) brand new. I suppose some of the transfer could be out of other investments, but that's a rare scenario for most current bitcoin holders. Most bought or acquired what they could and have watched that ownership increase in value. No one is losing value to create this new bitcoin value, it's not as if someone has to lose $1000 for me to gain $1000.

As for holding, I think we should be doing it for far longer than 2-3 years...but each person has their own agenda.

If you do tell this advise wayback on year where bitcoin or crypto is just starting then it is possible but talking this thing nowadays wont really be the same on what we would possibly achieved on the future.Prices already soar up and it cant generate millionaires just like what happen to those early adopters or holders even nowadays. Impatient is not always a good thing but there are really times that we need to sell off due to some circumstances.

This is a natural cycle. It happens in all markets, there are buyers and sellers.
Not everyone has the same outlook.

markets are all about patience. this mindset applies to all markets, to varying degrees. it's especially apparent in the real estate market. i know people who bought their houses deep into the bull market and are getting killed by high mortgage payments. i've also known a lot of people who sold cheap into a bloody market. patience would have served these people well.

we have to concede though, that cryptocurrency is a nascent technology, and its value boils down to adoption/speculation about future adoption. because there are no hard fundamentals (as with stocks or agricultural commodities), this is quite speculative.

we might see its potential now, but there is no guarantee that this "transfer of wealth" into cryptocurrencies will really come to fruition. it could all come crashing down, as many have predicted. past performance doesn't guarantee future results, after all. ;)

Like the old saying goes. 'Patience is a virtue..' It is needed as both a trader and a hodler. But, there are always two kinds of people in the crypto space, the trader and the hodler. It is always important to distinguish between a hodl portfolio and a trading portfolio. Once this is determined and clearly spelt out, then clear timelines must be set to tell how long the coins in that portfolio are going to be held. This applies to a trading portfolio as well, setting take profits points and staying patient till the trade hits TP is very important.

But in situations where the portfolio is being adversely threatened by drastic market downtrend, it is important to know when to exit the market, and in this case, exercising additional patience may cause you to lose everything. So there's the place of patience and the place of wisdom

I'm very agree for holding for so several years because we witness already during the time from the start until now we know what happen from the lower price to the top price in 2018 although there is a big changes until since December 2017 but it is still good price when we compared from successive years start 2009.

The reason why people didn't buy bitcoin early because we really don't know what this technology can bring to us in the future specially in financial wise. Why would someone bought it a crypto-currency that is not tangible as compare to fiat? However, in the last 3 years specially when the price peak last year, it took the world by storm and everyone took notice.

That's separate smart investors from pure speculators. Smart investors is always looking for the long term impact of their investments while speculators will take any profit that fit their need. Its up to us where we wanted to be, If you choose the former then you really need to have a lot of tolerance and mental toughness.

The rich do not become rich in just one way. There are multiple ways of becoming rich, simplest probably being inheriting richness. There are people like you said that waits out the bear markets and constantly keep buying from low amounts (still being careful about the risks of it as well) and wait out 2-3 years and they know something like bitcoin would definitely yield more profit in the long term than keep swinging on each trend price.

However there are also day traders that trade via looking at the indicators and buying or selling according to those and still make a lot of money from this, not just on crypto world but generally on forex as well. This all comes down to one thing, if you want to get rich you have to take risks but you also have to be smart about your bankroll and not go all in at once.

It's better for any business owner (both online and offline) to be impatient,to work hard and implement innovations fast. However patience can be a virtue in long term investing.
There's a belief, amongst the majority of the btc users, that bitcoin will go to the moon for sure. What if that never happens?Usually the wealth is transferred from poor and uneducated to the rich and educated.

Truly it is very sensible that being patient gives you a lot of time to think for the right choices and would make you a lot of profit in the long run.

When you are planting a tree, it takes time to grow and bloom. That also applies to investment where time is the top thing to consider or to keep in mind. I am also a long time holder before but i decided to change my tactic to earn from HODL. I am willing to wait until the right time comes but to give more excitement to it, i started trading those altcoins and multiply their number. I just set a number to those altcoins i like to HODL and continue trading. Here are my plans actually

1 × Bitcoin
10 x Ethereum
10 x DASH
10 x Litecoin
200 x NEO
50,000 x IOTA
50,000 x Cardano
50,000 x TRON
50,000 x Ripple

Well, of course patient plays big role in holding bitcoin. but, holding for 2 or 3 years is too much I guess.  you can't lean on today's price since crypto is risky if you take it that way. there's always ups-downs situation where the price is unstable and unpredictable. it can fall down so deep, yet it can soar so high in another time. when it happens, you'll miss opportunity and of course you'll be far from wealthy. So, I think you need to be brave and encourage to take the risks, not playing around with keeping or holding your bitcoin for such a long period of time.

And that is why multi-million business men are still millionaire in the end of the year as they are diversifying their options to gain profits and not just relying on one investment or company which is quite the opposite of people who are job based oriented which will only have one or few ways that they can earn. And what you said is true that putting all your money into hodling is not good as you can potentially lose more than gain something.

Yep, it's easy to look back at 2010/2011 and see that if you bought bitcoin then and held it you'd be rich today.  Same thing with a lot of stocks.  If you'd bought Amazon stock a few years back you'd have made a lot of money if you sold it right now.  The problem is always that no one can see the future, and there's absolutely no guarantee that anything you invest in right now (and that includes bitcoin and all things crypto) is going to gain in value in the long run.

There are people who invested in gold and silver in 2011 right when both were at what I think were their all-time highs, and if they held onto what they bought they still would lose money if they sold in 2018.  And what about those who bought bitcoin when it was $10k-$20k?  They're still in the red, and bitcoin could just as easily fall below the price it's at now than shoot back up to those levels.

"HODL" has become some sort of mantra around here, and I've always considered it kind of silly.  Whether you make a profit or not in crypto all depends on what price you bought in at, and I've seen people hold their coins for so long that they missed out on making money.  It's fine to take a long-term view of your investment, but you also should have a plan as to when you're going to sell.

There is a big but when it comes to holding like what if you are holding a shitcoin?  Nonsense right?  Even you hold it 3-5 years there's no chances you to win. I would suggest be a wise person and ofcourse be a risk taker. You couldn't win without trying.

It’s not always about being patient, sometimes you just need to have foresight to know whether the value of the crypto is going to go higher and lower and from that you should make your move. There have been instance of people who went for a long investment and still lost money.

Holding your coin for a good period of time is important but holding a good coin is more important. But a wish and smart investor will  think of selling to rebuy back at a cheaper rate whenever the opportunity present itself.

How exactly can you obtain the foresight about the price to go higher or lower? Isn't what you refer to simply an educated guess? It definitely looks like it. Even in this case you're either right or wrong. In other words, a 50/50 chance.

There have been instance of people who went for a long investment and still lost money.
It depends on how long you plan to park your funds in Bitcoin. If you go for the long term (at least 2-3 years) it's impossible to lose if you can avoid buying into a bull run like the one we went through last year.

If you're only out to ride the market for a couple of months, there is obviously nothing that will guide you to the profits you hope to book. Most people lose because of how short term minded they are.

People are so obsessed with short term profits that it really works against them. I have never seen people demand quick profits from their stock investments. Maybe a sign that they are wiser than the crypto freaks here? I think so.

I did told those that I introduced into cryptocurrency not to really get themselves worked up over not making some cash yet. I explained to them that the iCOs are mostly future projects which are coming into full play later. By the time this happens, the real worth of their tokens would be massive.

The crash that has been occurred in 2018 has made bitcoin and altcoin had a negative image from several new investors. They will give a judge the cryptocurrency as improper as a place for investment, lots of manipulation and prices based on speculation will make them at least reluctant to turn back, that was something felt by some of my friends who have fallen victim by cryptocurrency because of their ignorance.

I always made them aware of being cautious in making a decision, the price of cryptocurrency based on supply and demand, which is the supply and demand were caused by several complex problems, but they ignored it.

The crash that has occurred provide a great understanding of everyone who is still in and investing, they must be aware that investment cannot be used as an instant place to get wealth. And I agree that last year cryptocurrency was a bubble that just exploded and left some opinions.

The truth behind why people do not dare to hold their bitcoin and have no impatient is because in the bottom of their heart they were not believe bitcoin future although most people suggest to hold bitcoin for long term because we will see the benefit from that but in the fact only several people dare to do so and the rest of them is only talk without act but as usual remorse always be comes last that why they do not buy bitcoin when the price still low such as few years ago

I agree that you need huge patience with crypto, crypto just start to grow so we can't expect something big could happen in instance, the growth also not that stable uet, but I do see a lot of potential and easiness that crypto could provide if its being mass adopted, and now we are in the process of fighting with regulation, if we can cope or win with the regulation then we can see huge rising of crypto value

Well, even if you need to have foresight, you cannot have that without at least having some knowledge on how to take advantage of market trends.

A lot of people really want to tap from the market in the short term, but they simply do not even have a clue of how to go about it and this is the reason why sometimes, they miss out on the show, panic for some reasons and then make horrible mistakes.

It is a market, and there would always be the weak hands who really have no single idea or clue of what they are doing, and everything they are just after is quick gains. As long as you do not even understand the space you are getting into, that is a big problem on its own.

patience must be added with a good analysis. so that what we wait for is not in vain later. this may apply to new coins. of course you have to be able to analyze it, so we get a low price and the pump will happen later

To be honest its really a personal investment and with the time things do change in the crypto currency but not everyone is grasping the benefits of it at all. I have few observations though in which most of the people when enter into the crypto market then they makes xyz investment and then are always scared about it at the  first time. They will act crazy about it even when there is little % change in the crypto to down side. With the time they also learn that these are just part of normal ups and downs that takes place. The crypto is more or less cyclic in its behaviour and it keeps going up and down all the time. Nonetheless, it does give profit to each and every person if they are consistent with their investment.

To earn real wealth you must be patient in order to partake of the bullish season, do not be in a hurry to cash out, the future belong to investors that can afford to wait and for some few month or year in order to earn real waelth, else you keep empowering others because of fear.

Seeing the current situation, I began to doubt whether holding and holding bitcoin was still the best choice, uncertainty and lack of collateral made me doubt. Honestly in my heart, I was more certain that bitcoin might have reached the time to have a stable price and main purpose. bitcoin to become a medium of exchange will soon be achieved.

Positive thinking is not prohibited, but if it is excessive it may not be good, in crypto trading no one knows the price prediction that will occur in the next 1 second, but if you buy and sell for 2-3 years it might have a positive impact and negative

Holding your coin for a good period of time is important but holding a good coin is more important. But a wish and smart investor will  think of selling to rebuy back at a cheaper rate whenever the opportunity present itself.
I would even say the first step to be able to get the best from any investment is knowledge. It is always this knowledge that will guide your decision making and for most part of it, a lot of people who are always in a haste, or very impatient or panic easily are the ones who are just after some means of getting rich fast and they never care to understand what makes the future important, and even if you have to take advantage of some short term movements, you still want to be sure you are doing it right with wisdom.

Being patient is a virtue that comes with the ability to know what you are doing at every certain point in time and that is what is lacking in so many people. When a holder loses his faith on a coin, he get panic and then transferring his wealth to another person who may be another holder but he gets for cheaper prices (by considering current market situation).

As per OP, the current down market conditions trigger the process of transferring wealth from pessimist to new optimists. I am getting this perspective view now only but fortunately I am a long term holder of bitcoin and I never turned as pessimist even at hard times like bitcoin broke $6k levels.

if it is not based on knowledge it is difficult to be patient to wait and hold coins for 3 years. but at least from the market that is currently happening and also bitcoin price charts from past years, yes we still have a great opportunity to become billionaires if you want to be patient and hold for several years. even now knowledge should have increased with all the lessons about crypto market in this discussion forum.

Oh of course! Even in real life, when you are so impatient to wait for something, you may just end up missing it in the last minute. Patience is one attribute a lot of investors do not have in this space and that is simply because they never did come into this space for the reason being that they want to be a part of something big in the future.

But they are here because they want to make shit loads of money and at the end, they end up regretting the fact that they never had any long term goals as the case may be. If you are always in haste for something, the chances of never getting to see a better chance will always be there.

I think the impatient started to be right at around 6th month, the price has been around these levels for so long that the impatient decided it doesn't really worth it to wait the bear out. Right now, the market seems so boring that I might as well invested into gold or something and still came out better than this (didn't check it tbh, don't quote me on that) even tho gold has been the slowest rises in the historical sense.

The price went up to $20k which is nice but ever since those days it has never had a proper green market for long time and because of that the impatient people have started to say "it is enough thats it!" and left. I would understand for couple months this could have happened but it has been nearly a year of this and when you are down for over a year it is not easy to be patient.

You’re wrong, when you invested doesn’t have anything to do with whether you will make it in cryptocurrency and get rich or not. Take for example, there are people who bought Bitcoin last two years at the price rate of $2000 and cashed out at the price rate of $19000, but some dumb people kept on holding and lost everything.

There are also those that bought at the rate of $15000 and lost more than half of their investment. So when you invested doesn’t matter, you just need to cash out anytime you think is right for you.

I think it is reasonable if there is someone who is impatient with the fluctuations in the crypto market currently buying and selling due to the many positive and negative issues. for those who have more money and invest like buying bitcoin and being held for 2 to 3 years is a brilliant idea.

Unfortunately, if we are to look at the population of holders to those who are actually just here for the quick bucks, there are just very few of the holders, with a lot of the holders even being those who are holding large chunk of it.

Truth be told, a lot of those who are more into the greedy part of things are those who are pretty not doing so well in real life and just looking for quick means to get rich, no form of patience at all to at least, focus on the long term, and that impairs their judgment a whole lot. So at the end, it is just all about the patience and even if you do not have the patience, learning to trade is not something that bad at all.

Yes, that’s the point exactly. Not everyone can be able to invest their money and hold it for long, cause not everyone is that rich and they are just trying their luck to see if things works for them and any chance they get and price increase they will immediately, or maybe if market shows signs that it will drop, they also withdraw to avoid losing their money. It’s only those with the money that can invest and leave it for years.

Whether as an investment or not, one thing is certain, a time will come when there would be real life usage and the chances of seeing some level of stability will be there but obviously it cannot be completely stable.

However, we know that even in the long run, this space will really be serving a whole lot as a store of value most of the time, and in that case it would not change it from being much of an asset like gold and the likes, but the thing is that with real life usage, it even makes things a whole lot better. Those who are not patient now to focus on the future will most definitely have themselves to blame for it, there is no doubt about that.

Just because there are a few poor people that managed to get rich through cryptocurrency doesn’t mean that it is actually transferring wealth from the rich to poor. It’s possible that it can be from the poor to another poor, making he or she better than the other cause, well, luck is on their side and wasn’t for the other person. Why I’m saying this is because some of these rich guys has the key to control this market, so how is it going to move against?

But can we really blame the impatient who is satisfied with his/her profit or the patient one who is holding big bag of shitcoins? Being patient and discipline is crucial in this kind of market, however one must wait with common sense.

Thanks for the advise, but i really don't think it is just buying and holding. We should really look into Crypto currency used as a well currency. To circulate in the market and not just rot inside our virtual wallets. Have use for it to buy stuff and render services. This will help it in the long run rather than just buying coins you don't use at all.

You are very correct. Impatience is the major issue here and it is the line between failure and success in the cryptocurrency space. The patient ones are mopping up cryptocurrency from the impatient who often sell their coins at the sound of any negative news. In future, the patient ones will have a good success story while the impatient will be in regrets.

That is the thing! A lot of people are so much concentrated on the fact that crypto is more of an asset than a currency and I really will not doubt that, considering the fact that even if you want to spend today, there is no much avenue for that yet.

However, I believe this is something that would change over time, a time will most definitely come when we would have seen the level of adoption grown hugely, volatility has reduced to some extent across board, payment system has been made easy when it comes to using cryptocurrency as a payment platform and in that case, at the same time, the same impatient people who keep selling at loss out of panic and impatience will still regret it eventually.

Yeah, the level of impatience of a lot of people in the past have made them to miss being a part of the market today and even if they are, it has made them to miss the profit some early holders are even getting right now even at the dip. Yeah, that is exactly how it is.

The funniest part to this whole thing is the fact that in as much as they all keep saying banks have been stealing from them, you just realize that even at this stage, the same gullible people who want to get rich overnight are still allowing the same banks and financial institutions to play with their emotions and get them thrown out of the market, since all they will ever be is weak hands.

If we are actually to look at the majority of the people in this space right now, they are those who came into the cryptocurrency scene sometimes late last year due to the FOMO and promises of getting rich overnight with a bad mentality and not even taking the time to learn what the space is all about.

In that case, looking at the current situation, it is always a normal thing to get to see a lot of them get to panic and impatient to the extent of just giving up on the future of the market, because like I said, they never took their time to know. This is always the target of the whales most of the time, and I am sure they will never stop until they get the last weak hand out of the market in their favor.

We have once again saw what this means. People like roger ver and jihan wu and craig wright has spent probably millions of dollars into getting hash power and than they are working towards killing each others projects. When they are spending this much money it doesn't matter how much they lose as long as their side wins, if their side wins than there is absolutely no issue with losing the initial capital since their own money will be on the market and they will be capable of selling that to cover the initial losses.

If roger ver spends millions of dollars into this war, it doesn't matter to him because if he wins he holds 1 million bitcoin cash with each worth 300 dollars, that is more money than he can dream of so he will be super rich, it worths more to keep fighting than just giving up.

Hodling long-term is okay, but putting all your money in it is not.
actually to be safer we don't put all our money at one point, maybe if it's far better to start putting some of our money in other fields, just in case something happens that we don't want, but it all depends on everyone's soul because not everyone is the same in looking at property. because bitcoin is not always safe to put all our money, if there is a crime against us not all of our money is used up.

True! The future apparently to me is bright and every one that sees the real value this space brings to humanity when it comes to freedom and how we spend, they will know this is something with a great future.

Sometimes, holding on they say does more harm than letting go. Sometimes having patience in this can be a waste of your time. If you want to invest and hold with Bitcoin all you’ve got to do is make enough money first from your main business, then take out money you would love to spend from what you’ve got, you can then spend it on Bitcoin instead of spending it on unnecessary things and then forget about it till there is change.

If you want to invest and hold with Bitcoin all you’ve got to do is make enough money first from your main business, then take out money you would love to spend from what you’ve got, you can then spend it on Bitcoin instead of spending it on unnecessary things and then forget about it till there is change.
indeed with free money will make us patient to hold in the long run until we achieve what we expect. many force themselves to invest and in the end they panic so they lose money

For several days the crypto market has selected investors. There is a choice of those who earn, and those who lose their money.

This is something that the great investors know and they apply that concept very effectively anytime they can, most people when they are losing money have very negative reactions to that fact, many have very extreme physical reactions to it, they get sick, they get headaches and other similar symptoms and that is why they sell because they cannot stand to feel that way all the time but the great investors have learned to dissipate those doubts in their mind and keep holding their investments if they think their investments are any good.

These days it's hard to be patient. There is a lot of information around and in most negative. Each time opening the news and even the forum you start to think that the last day of Bitcoin comes and only incredible willpower does not allow us to sell our assets.

The reason why there are people who became millionaire because of cryptocurrency is these early holders of bitcoin and ethereum. Back then, the prices of these coins way back very low. Imagine the price and ethereum becoming 5-digit and 4-digit in price will sure make you millinionaire.
of course it requires patience to reach that price. have you ever seen tweets from the owner of binance? he once sold his house to buy bitcoin in 2015 but after that the price dropped from  $600 to $200. I want to say that you need patience to get a big profit on this investment.

That is the reward of being patient, and many of them have proved it and now, I am sure that they have a lot of money because of bitcoin. And now, they have a good chance to buy more bitcoin at this moment, and they can buy as much as they want because the bitcoin price is down deeper. The impatient will gives nothing for us, and we can get the benefits from anything so it is the time to learn more about being patient so we can get something good in the future. Makes your mistake as a good lesson for yourself so you know what you need to do and you don't have to make the same mistake in the future.

Good things come to those who wait, as the proverb goes. But don't just wait for things to happen, pinning hopes on chance and luck. Use the gift of wisdom to spot for opportunity too. In the case of the current market, this will be a good time to consider investing more wealth into a legitimate coin you have done research on.

It’s not only about being patient, you’ve got to be smart and know what to do and when to do it. But anyway, Bitcoin will always favor those who have patience, depending on how long you can have patience. But anytime things are like this and the price is dipping and investors are quitting, know that something big is coming. If you trace back how Bitcoin started, you will see that’s how it has always been. When the ground is shaking, it’s best to hold on tight.

We are seeing this clear as day right now. Do you know how we know that the money is changing hands right now? Because we can follow up on the big deals at the whalealert twitter bot. You can see there a week ago there was a lot of bitcoins sold there and money moving from "unknown wallet" to places like binance and coinbase and bitfinex or whatever. That means there was a lot of rich people who sold their bitcoins a week ago and turned that into cash. This is not certain but it is the most likely explanation.

However in the past 2 days now we are starting to see money moving from those exchanges like binance and coinbase and what not to "unknown wallets" which means they are buying bitcoin now from cheap and sending that to their own wallets. Rich folk basically sold their coins at over 6 thousand dollar value and when the price dropped they started to gather as much as they can at lower prices.

The targets of most whales are usually the greedy and impatient ones. Certainly, the mindset someone brings into the market will determine whether they will end up being patient or not. Which from the look of a lot of things here, so many people today entered this market because they had the mindset of getting rich overnight, without a slight idea of how market operates, what they are investing in, and how they should be approaching the market, and when reality starts setting in, you start seeing them panic, blaming everybody but themselves, and then bailing out of the market at loss. As long as you have the wrong mindset, you will definitely be impatient and as long as you are impatient you will always be screwed in the end.

I think we should not panic and sell our coin because crypto always volatile and high fluctuation. If we are looking on bitcoin price history, bear market like happen like current condition. Better patient with our investment and keep hold it for next few years

besides being impatient, everyone is afraid to hold the coin too long, because the risk of losing is getting bigger.
we never know something that will happen in the future, so we will make a decision to sell when the price of coins increases slightly.

Exactly the point, mate. I don't want to regret in the next two to three years when Bitcoin will spike to another huge price and i wouldn't have even a single BTC in my wallet. Most of the early adopters who out of doubts and fear of what the future holds, sold their Bitcoin are the ones who regretted and bought back their Bitcoin at huge prices during last year December bull market.

Indeed if you want to be a wealthy man then don't be impatient because its makes you mistake and cause you to get huge losses. Being patient is one of the good traits that have of investors especially when waiting for the rising of cryptocurrency price. Also impatient can make you to worry to much and it is the reason why you get easily afraid and sell your coin.

It is very easy to look at the past and say that you should have sold your coins at a particular point in time but you say that because you are seeing that was the highest point of bitcoin, if the price kept going up you will be very happy with your decision to hold, and that is what makes trading so difficult, you need to take decisions when stuff is not clear at all and your decisions will heavily affect your future, but you need to change the way you think, because as long as you still have bitcoin you will make money in the future.

Obviously! That is the thing about markets, someone has to lose for someone to gain, and there is no two ways about it. It is more like bidding, so it is now left for you as an individual if you want to be the loser or the gainer as time goes on.

The reason why the bigger players can never lose is because they control the market and they have the funds to do so, but in most cases, how you are selling at loss is now dependent on whether you need the bucks to fill up some needs and you have no choice to sell lower than what you bought, or you are busy panicking and selling at loss. The latter are always considered the weak hands due to their level of impatience in the market when it comes to investment.

It is scary to think that there are people who are investing in billions of dollars into bitcoin RIGHT NOW if you look at the whale moves whereas we are really scared of doing anything. Whoever sells bitcoin at these levels must be really crazy but even if you are not selling your bitcoin someone must be in order for bitcoin (and indirectly crypto as a whole) to drop in the price.

Now take that and combine it with the fact that since some people are selling it means some people are buying that means if the price goes even lower the people who sold were right about selling, however the big question is if the price goes up the people who bought during the market crash are the smart people because they invested when everyone was scared and took that risk and made money in return.

Hodling crypto and buying during bearish market is good but let not forget that crypto is not to be hold forever and there are times when one need to sell in other to either cash out the profits or cut losses. Bitcoin is a currency and at that it design to be use on a daily basis and not only to be seen as an investment which you need to stock in large quantity and long term, and also bitcoin as a store of value holding alone does not increase it value but what increase it value is adaptation.

So you don’t just buy and keep and relax thinking that you will make millions of overnight because you’re patient. Yes, sometimes it do work, but not all the time. And by the way, when you have patience and put in hard work you will make more than what you would have made while folding your hands and waiting.

So many people don't have the patience to wait for a long time. They are following investing in crypto, and they think after they buy, they don't have to search or learn more about crypto. And that is wrong.

The cryptocurrency is moving, will always moving, from time to time, never stop unless the project has a delay or abandon. But it will still move, and that is why we need to be patient for a while.

And when some news comes out to them, they become massively buy or sell because of the news. But they never think about the future. The cryptocurrency has a long journey, and we don't have to become panic if there is bad news comes out.

For people who can be patient, he will make a lot of money in the 2 or 3 years later but still, it's hard always to be patient because we don't know what will happen later. As long as we can be aware of the cryptocurrency market, then I think we should be fine.

Usually the wealth is transferred from poor and uneducated to the rich and educated.
that's the way it is now, trading cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin only work by transferring the wealth of beginner traders who don't have enough knowledge in trading cryptocurrencies so they are stuck at a loss.
and the lucky ones are those who already have experience and rely on strategies in their trade.

I fully agree with the author of the post. More than once I came across a similar situation when I was selling an asset early, thinking that the more likely he would not grow. I acted as a speculator and not as an investor. After 4 years on the stock market, I realized that in the long run you can only make money as an investor. I’m not saying that the speculators are all going bankrupt and cannot earn on the stock exchange. Just the percentage of speculators' earnings in a long period of time is much less than the earnings of a long-term investor. And I personally decided to trade for a period of 3-5 years. I also consider cryptocurrencies as a long-term investment, as I see potential in them.

Well that's basically how a market like this works. Weak hands bring good money to those waiting for them to break. And most of the time they break. Though for me it takes more than patience to survive what happens here. Though being impatient takes you closer to getting your money drained quickly.

I think it depends on what you are holding. If we say it only refers to bitcoin then maybe you are right since bitcoin is proven already since the time it started till the present but not all cryptocurrencies have the same characteristics as that of bitcoin. Many are just like mushrooms or I say a shooting star. Some may have a good price for a short period of time and then no more so holding for a long time doesn't really apply to all cryptocurrencies.

Hodling long-term is okay, but putting all your money in it is not.
investment in a long time has two possibilities, namely to get a profit and the second can get a loss, but in terms of bitcoin investment if we are a long-term investment, the biggest possibility is a big profit in the future. buying and selling, this can trigger the use of currencies that are very global and cannot be pressured by any country, and bitcoin is very likely to become the future currency.

It has nothing much to do with patience and impatience. Sometimes having that patience can cause you a lot of harm than you can get from being impatient. So let’s take those that jumped in at the price rate of $19,000 and price started to fall and they still decided to have patience, do you know how much they have lost by now ?

Sometimes you can even invest and there all of sudden, there has a bull run and you will make a huge profit from it.

Let me add that even if you patiently hold for your coins to go pump, if that coins weren't have potentials, it makes no sense and it will not make you a millionare. The big thing here is to patiently hold some trusted, potentially and established coins like bitcoin and ethereum which was being tested for being a long term investments.

Also, integrating some strategies or making great steps aside from holding will even make you rich unlike doing nothing and waiting for the impossible to happen is like waiting the star to fall.

I have come to learn that the crypto currency marketplace is all about being patient. The crypto currency market place is highly volatile and the value could drop drastically at any time. The impatient will sell to cut their loss while the patient will buy and HOLD . They wait for a good time to sell at a very good profit

Goodluck to you friend.

Results speak for themselves, I mean bitcoin has shown potentials of earning large amounts of income given that you know what you are doing. Most people that I know invested in bitcoin got their influence heavily from media, which portrayed bitcoin as a guaranteed investment. If you invest without knowing the background, technical analysis, and research, you may end up like 40-50% of the people who lost most of their investment last 2018.

Hodling will always bring out the best results in a market so volatile and prone to manipulation. Principles to reminder: Our tech is revolutionary and there's nothing out there that can compete with us.

I do not fully agree since it all depends on the situation and your investment plan for the term/quarter. If you focus on day trading, you can sell your coins regardless of the small profit margin.

This is the only channel the whales pass through to make their money; they already study the weak point of investors and usually use it to collect what they have to enrich themselves. Most people that have panic sold into the hands of these whales has been as a result of impatient, while the whales becomes patient for the market to full grow before they catch out.

If we don’t want to continue to transfer our crypto wealth into the hands of the already rich ones, all we need to work on is patient, because patient will not just come except we work on it and be firm in our decision making too.

It really really depends on the coin and a) it's features and b) it's community. If it hasn't got much of a community and there are no efforts to build one, then selling early is the smart move. Otherwise you might end up as a bag holder. For every coin that is worth holding there are about fifty that are not.
Yes, holding of the coins needs to be done upon strong market analysis. Every coin won't be good for long term holding as some used to signs of growth for a short and later it starts to dump. Holding of such coins is not worth, better is to invest on the leading altcoins and have patience. This will give good profit on the investment.

Can't agree, when we talk around bitcoin, as time shows, holding it and doing nothing is less risky and far profitable than daily/weekly/monthly trading.
Btw it's not so easy to just hold coins, there are risks and you can't escape from them. News has huge impact on bitcoin's price, for example china bans mining. This news sounds terrifying, no one knows what will it cause, maybe that's the end and better to sell asap? Or maybe market will recover? And if won't recover? There are risks and we all want to get rid of them, that's why we are impatients in holding for long term.

You can always sell an amount to cover your initial investment. That way all you are gambling with is free money and fluctuations due to news and market events don't matter so much.

It really depends on your personal tolerance for risk. Bitcoin is not for the fainthearted because it's extremely volatile.

Our concern for what will happen in the future makes us decide that cryptocurrency is another option to secure some wealth. Many people think that the decision is a mistake but we have seen the miracle of patience, which is the peak in 2017, where people who think healthy invest their wealth in crypto that at that time nobody expected or hoped the price was as high as when  this. An investment will not fail unless you are exposed to fraud because any item in the form of investment even though it is not worth it at the moment but in the future the item will be far more valuable, as is the investment in cryptocurrency.

Exactly.Patience would be a good virtue if we want to make huge profits in bitcoin by holding them for several years.Profits most likely will come to those people who are not panic sellers and would stay calm even if the market turns sideways.

of confidence.I cant blame them yet that scenario would really give out that negativity and for those patient who didn't able to sell off
that time will also have that kind of regrets because being patient too much do have also a negative impact.

Patience is one of the key words often used in the crypto space and this signifies its importance to investors especially the long term ones. Out of impatience, some investors sell off their coins at low prices which yields them losses and when this happen it is assume that funds are transferred from the impatient to the patient. This happens because the patient investor always seize the opportunity to buy the dips an wait patiently till the price goes up in order to make profit when it is sold.

You are right, it is better we depend on projects that are already in the market and have very good services to offer, because most of these other coins that are not reliable will surely make us transfer our wealth to already rich ones and may make us end up being a bag holder like how so far this crypto space is doing

Coins with stronger communities will definitely do better than the ones with weak communities, I judge communities based on how long they are willing to stay and uphold the project unlike weaker communities that are just there to dump the project for the short profit they will get.

Very true, patient is needed to make a good fortune from the bitcoin market. While it's important the coin wants to hold for as long as 2-3years. Some persons are in the habit of buying bullish coins without checking the potential of the token. This has led some people into big debt. It's always safer holding bitcoin or well known good altcoins.

Indeed who have patience can make a lot of profit, for example when a new ATH will come for bitcoin the people who buy on last bull run and still hold for long can make a profit, the only problem is the time, but if they have enough money they should wait for a new ATH.

Its a matter of win and lose situation. If someone loses then probably, there is someone who wins. Same as trading where if panic sellers sell their coins on a lower price, there would be a change of price in time and all of those smart traders benefit by it. Its always a cycle like crypto moon.

Well said, this applies to all investments/free markets. Just look at the scenario of someone selling low volume coins with a wide spread. Being patient and selling at top of spread can yield much more than being impatient and selling at market/bid immediately.

Actually there are some tokens and coins that have no future which the business behind it is almost bankrupt. So we can't be patient for tokens and coins like that we should do cut loss. There are only few tokens and coins which we can hold for long term, that is bitcoin and ETH. At this current market condition we should sell all of our unfamous cryptocurrency for bitcoin or ETH so we can join the next pump of them.

Even if you have enough patience, Sometimes it depends on a holders situation like for an instance a small time investor bought an xxx token in ico price and after 1 year of hodling in his wallet bear market comes and the value of his xxx token fall into -80% and at the same time an emergency situation occurred and this investor needs a huge money, what will this investor going to do?still hodl or sell? of course no choice but to sell.

They come to the market, pick some coins at random without the knowledge of it and then invest, thinking it will increase by magic, I am actually not blaming them because I am also talking from experience, I fell into this too before I started learning a lot through this forum.

Once everyone knows about the operation of BTC after full adoption, they will stop being victim of whales and would not just see any bullish coin and invest in

OK, now that they have become impatient, what have they gained? Loses upon losses, they end up transferring their wealth to other people, why can’t they just take the chance of being patient since nothing good has ever come out of impatient. We just have to learn it, patient is not what comes to us automatically, and we have to be able to engage in some things that will help.

Judging with history, we have seen how things has always been in favor of Bitcoin overtime no matter how bad the situation may be, so our investment now would not be the first and would not be the last, whatever we are seeing now has been seen before and has been forgotten.

Long term holdings may lead to losses sometimes but I think that our point is valid.
Until now you have proven right because bitcoin has a price increase from the time it has been created.
The fact that in which milestone every trader has entered the market is what can cause losses.

indeed the cryptocurrency price movement is difficult to predict so that the best trading method does long-term trading, we can take the case from the first creation of bitcoin, the price of bitcoin is only less than $ 50 and even at the end of 2017 the price of bitcoin can reach $ 20k imagine how much profit you get when you buy bitcoin at a price of $ 50.

Was reading an article written by an economist who actually said the same thing
*The market transfers the wealth from the impatient to the patient*
Seemed appropriate but what if , the market is crashing then the only person who will be able to survive this will be the impatient one , what I think is there is no reason to say this in cryptocurrency world because there are more than 100 cryptocurrencies here right now and the instability of them to maintain the market value optimum has caused a lot of problems , some are dying and we all know that thus instead of being patient we should be intellectually patient' , if market is dropping more than 50% of the value then I think it's more than justified to cash out.

I think that statement about imaptience and patience is so much true, mostly I find that true on my own skin when I enter in position without enough patient especially in daily trading, for example if I wait just 5 minutes more on confirmation of support, I wouldn't be in negative %. Beside daily trading I have long term holdings, with them I have more patience and I can wait for years for great outcome.

I may not agree with you on the number of years one has to be patient with the market but I do certainly agree that Patience is a virtue in this crypto industry. Besides, isn't patience a general virtue of life in whatever venture we engage? Those who panicked and sold off in 2018 may likely regret the patience they didn't have then once the market soars to a fresh ATH.

Okay, so after he sells the portion of the investment to settle his problem, what will he fall back to after solving it? He is still left with zero and to start all over again, you see in this life, we have to be self-disciplined and stop giving excuses for some decisions we make that would have been easily sorted out using another means.

Instead of selling the investment off, why do we have crypto loan in the market? And secondly when we are investing, we should not invest cash that we use to solve our daily problem, if I have $1000 as income, and I decide to invest $20, will 20 dollars kill me, what problem will $20 solve for me in future, but that $20 is what can make one become very rich in life in crypto market, most bitcoin investors when it started invested with money even lower than $20, and what would they be saying now if they had sold that tiny investment then?

I think that statement about imaptience and patience is so much true, mostly I find that true on my own skin when I enter in position without enough patient especially in daily trading, for example if I wait just 5 minutes more on confirmation of support, I wouldn't be in negative %. Beside daily trading I have long term holdings, with them I have more patience and I can wait for years for great outcome.
In day trading anything may change in the seconds so we need to be strong enough for facing the consequences and it will be easier when we are not day trading with all our crypto investments just like you.

Goodluck to you friend.
yes this is possibly the best idea to do and this type of cards were been decided by each and everyone because it will be more riskier and the chance giving opportunity was reduced due to this changes happening in your life but if you success it will be giving a huge income for your life.

The phenomenon of the crypto market is so novel and disruptive that there is not enough historical records to predict with certain degree of certainty what will happen to the price of any cryptocurrency in 5, 10 or more years. Therefore, we can not judge the decisions made by those who at one time decided to sell their holdings, because perhaps at the time it was a good decision to sell when they reached their profitability goals, even without knowing what would happen with bitcoin some years later.

we know the potential of cryptocurrency, and we must believe, I think as long as I still make money, I will still be here. as long as we work really hard, I think it will still produce, even though the next 2-3 years are not like 2017, maybe

2017 bullish run is going to repeat itself again and that is why it is very important we really understand that this moment will still be the best time to invest and make good profits in future.  Many traders are going to be regretting by not get into the market early this time.  Just imagine bitcoin growing and is been traded above $100,000 in two years to come and you have patience enough to buy now and holds till then!

indeed, there will be no cryptocurrency price movements in the future but I think we as cryptocurrency traders or cryptocurrency users can still analyze or predict price movements from the circulation of the total supply in circulation, when circulation is increasingly limited and demand is higher then it can provide a little insight into cryptocurrency prices in the future.
