Hey guys, there are two different difenitions: Blockchain and Cryptocurrency. A lot of experts say that crypto is going to die soon but blockchain itself is a very useful technology. What do you think are they right? Do you think blockchain can exist without cryptocurrency?

both are two faces for the same currency no one will host the node without financial incentives .. i mean there is no blockchain without cryptocurrency and no cryptocurrency without blockchain .. good luck and have a nice day :)

Thanks a lot buddy!  I concur and second on this. There is no any crypto that would exist without blockchain, vise versa.  I would like to learn more better if there is any opinion against this.

Are you sure about that? what about the coin that use DAG system, they can't be called as a part of the blockchain ecosystem and basically they are using the different thing and it's not blockchain.
DAG use server as the main part to create such an instant and zero fees transaction.

Yes blockchain can survive without crypto for example there are some financial institutions like insturance companies and banks that are actually using blockchain for some service without any crypto.

I would like to know who are those experts and what are their arguments to make such a catastrophic prediction on cryptocurrencies. It sounds more like a wishful thinking than anything else.

The blockchain technology can be implemented without cryptocurrency, but its work would still require any tool that is specific to the decentralized case. But the value of decentralization is in many nodes, which are responsible for checking and recording transactions. In the case of cryptocurrencies, this role is performed by miners who receive a reward for their work. And without a large number of participants, this won't be a full-fledged decentralization.

Cryptocurrency uses the blockchain technology to run the system in crypto world, and it may not survive without the technology. While blockchain seems possible to survive without cryptocurrency because it is a technology. A technology can be adapted to many sectors in our life. However, crypto and blockchain can not be separated from one another. They will continue to develop and support one another. Well keeping it simple, for blockchain to survive as a financial instrument cryptocurrencies existense is must. Without it, blockchain will stay limited to tech and will not get the exposure it really requires.
Plus, thinking for FIAT as a mode of tender in blockchain will make blockchain worthless as then it will be centralized and could be governed.

Blockchain technology is a system without third parties to confirm crypto transactions in peer to peer.

Surely people can use blockchain without creating coins or currencies.But you know the most important thing in the world is money. Right now, cryptocurrency is leading the way on finance and creating the "peoples money" sort of feeling a new type of economic revolution where people take control over their own money and it created a big wave of interest in it (maybe not on the right reasons but an interest nevertheless) so right now cryptocurrency is a frenzy and even the official governments are taking an interest to it which means it is leading the way for blockchain.

Blockchain however is basically a development system which could potentially be used almost anywhere and it could change how the systems work in any business around the world and could create an insane amount of new software to be released with blockchain integrated into it however for that to happen there needs to be new developers who understand how it works and use it for business reasons rather than cryptocurrency reasons and then it will eventually get more and more however that will take some time, in the long run the business world will have software all relied on blockchain technology but for now cryptocurrency is much higher on the way.

Cryptocurrency and blockchain was inseparable, because the power of cryptocurrency is anonym transaction for user and the blockchain, so i can't choose 1 of blockchain and cryptocurrency because cryptocurrency and blockchain give each other.

if you remove the crypt, then most likely people will no longer be interested in the blockchain. if there is no crypt, the blockchain will be centralized. since the miners need to decentralize, and the motivation for miners is a crypt.

The blockchain was created for bitcoin transactions and is now used in other Altoona in traditional business ! I agree that the use of technology will grow exponentially but cryptocurrency will not die !

Blockchain and crypto currency both are equally important for another for surviving. Crypto may not survive without blockchain. But blockchain just might. It has already been implemented in some financial institution.

We will all be thinking and also to the people of genius the world hoping to make research in a transparent about cryptography for the next 15 - 20 years.

1. crypto: If you want more of your money and get profit play on crypto and remember that there is a time
2. blockchain: If you want to see the success of blockchain, needed support but not all startup/developers to adopt crypto but they only adopted blockchain.

I will only make short conclusions about Blockchain and cryptocurrency that we are talking about today. However, both are interrelated and have a very close relationship. Maybe it can be compared to Fish and water, that's my understanding easily.

I don't know enough. But, as long as I participate in this forum, on average I read that Blockchain and Cryptocurrency are mutual. Regarding the experts you mentioned here, if possible I want to know their references, who knows they are right.

Well, cryptocurrency is the currency which can changed, reduced and also might be diminished. But blockchain is a system, a technology which can just be evolved but can't be destroyed. It's true that blockchain has now no purpose without crypto, but it can be developed and emerged.

Blockchain is an entity that can occur independently without cryptocurrency, but cryptocurrency is an ingredient to blockchain, just like internet is an ingredient to online.
So, blockchain could have been boring without cryptocurrency.

I concur here. There are corporations using blockchain technology to show chain-of-custody or for security as a defence against hacking. The blockchain can exist in (mostly) controlled environments where the nodes are all hosted by parties interested in a central goal (whether they are all part of the same organization or several organizations all participating in a shared endeavor).

However, I do think on a grander scale, while blockchain as a standalone technology will likely be adopted by businesses as an internal framework or a shared framework with other businesses, I do think cryptocurrency on a blockchain will be implemented on a much bigger scale than it is currently, whether it is Bitcoin that gains global acceptance and use, or whether governmental crypto becomes more widespread.

It is unlikely that the crypto will ever die, but blockchain will survive even if it dies. Blockchain is a technology which is used completely for financial works and few of the companies have already started to use Blockchain in sectors where no cryptocurrency is involved. On the other hand, crypto is based on Blockchain, and so it won't survive without the technology.

I think that banks do not really understand the technology, when you want to run blockchain which will be decentralized, you have to give something (cryptocurrency) to transaction verifiers because they will not do it without any financial reward.

Blockchain and Cryptocurrency started off together, there is no one or the other as the technology Blockchain provides helped make cryptocurrency. On another side the technology Blockchain provides it can be adopted in many sectors providing its services accordingly and helping them. Cryptocurrency will always have a stake in the digital economy as with each day more people are getting into cryptocurrency and helping the crypto economy grow. All we do is speculate since we can't be sure of what'll happen in 10 years but hopefully it'll be something good.

Cryptocurrency uses this technology to run the system in the cryptographic world. Blockchain is also used outside of the cryptographic market by some banks and other institutions. Thus, blockchain being a technology, can live and without cryptocurrency, because it has other areas of use. But the crypto market is almost entirely influenced by this technology and I can not imagine the crypto market without blockchain technology. Experts will say anything they feel like just to want to gain recognition, but that does not mean it always end up right. No one knows the future and even at that, I really do not expect that the crypto space will just die pretty much like that, considering the fact that it is growing every day.

It is understandable that there would be some markets that would go down the drain as there is no two ways about that, and most especially for those who do not even have real life product and the project has even been abandoned with no development whatsoever. yes, I think so, I saw news in my country that it turns out that blockchain technology can be used also as a media voting for the presidential election. For example Estonia and Tunisia have been able to use blockchain technology for the presidential election, even they did it from the regional head elections.
Of course with technology like blockchain it is very useful to be used in all fields and all sectors. Because the system is very safe. Imagine that if you previously voted online using a centralized server, it could still be a big possibility of hacking and easily manipulated. But if we use blockchain technology on that, the possibility of hacking and manipulation is very small, even that is impossible because the server is not centralized but it's decentralized. FYI : on blockchain it is impossible to hack because basically all transaction records that have occurred will be stored by many computers on the network itself. Obviously this will be more difficult to hack thousands of computer systems and the possibility that all computers will experience interference is impossible. We have to admit it, but as we know this technology is still in the development stage, if someone can improve it I am sure this technology can be the best.

Yes, blockchain can exist without Cryptocurrency but I think it will be a private Blockchain, we have many like that but when it comes to a blockchain protocol that will be publicly utilize, I don't think it can exist without Cryptocurrency which will power its operations.

Bitcoin was actually meant to be an application of the blockchain technology which is an open source and it was used for a solution to payment method in which there would be no need for a third party, and that is just one use case for the blockchain technology as there are so many other use cases. It's clear from the very beginning that if blockchain is separated from crypto then cryptocurrency will automatically die and lost its purpose because blockchain is a core part of crypto so yeah. I guess that is quite obvious for many people ofcourse.

They both have different purposes in life if you ask me. Blockchain has a purpose that it will be a new software in the world where almost all new important software programs will use and definitely take advantage of the possibilities of it.

With blockchain many sectors in the world can improve their software a lot and they will make working easier and definitely cut down on some manhours put into many work meaning it will drop the costs for the companies so they will start looking for more "blockchain developer" or whatever.

Whereas cryptocurrency which uses blockchain is basically a new way of investment for us and hopefully in the future when more places start accepting crypto payments or there is a way of paying with crypto anywhere even if they don't take it (like debit card or mobile app) than it will just be part of our lives individually instead of business world.

The blockchain needs development. The blockchain has to reach world level. Each person has to be able to use a blockchain in the future.

I am surprised with your answer. Anyway blockchain and cryptocurrency has different in spelling and its function. Cryptocurrency basing on google is a digital currency with encryption technique provided to it and it has a complex characteristics to decrypt the encryption process. And blockchain is a list of record of cryptograph or cryptocurrency transactions. This is the technology that cryptocurrency uses to get transparency in transactions. I do not know why OP has different point of view in this. Maybe one should need more research before posting a thread like this.

Yes, Blockchain can exist without crypto because you can use it in any application, just like Ripple, the bank only use their technology but not their coin as a mode of payment in every transaction, therefore it can.

Cryptocurrency is a system which is dispersed, where no anyone person or another company that controls it. The blockchain isn't located on a central server operated by a company, but scattered in thousands of computers on the network blockchain.

We can have nodes of its own, where the computer / machine you contain the blocks and record transaction blockchain.

This scenario is very likely going to happen. Look at giants like IBM or Alibaba- they have together over 180 patents just for blockchain technologies. I would say there will be a "war" between centralized and decentralized solutions and users will push one above the other. As I am on the side of decentralized coins, I wish them good luck, but do not take freedom from us  ;).

You should learn about the concept of blockchain and cryptocurrency to answer this question. With my knowledge, blockchain is much more general and larger than cryptocurrency, blockchain technology at this time is being applied to cryptocurrency, and in the future, it will be applied in all other industries.

I do not think that this is a different topic, because cryptocurrencies should already have a blockchain in themselves, which will look and write down where this coin went and where it was, so I think that this is generally the same.

Blockchain is and should be distributed ledger. If it is centralized, than it is not a blockchain but some classic database? And there is only one way how to secure that this blockchain will be decentralized and fully working - you have to motivate others with cryptocurrencies. So blockchain cant work without cryptocurrencies.

But not going into crypto or blockchain definitions, as you can find those across so many credible web resources, however, the point of blockchain is to secure, to some extent decentralize, and make irrefutable evidence of transactional activities. On the other hand, cryptocurrencies are needed for tokenization and reward implementation systems. I'd give a very good example.

I think not, because crypto is the fuel for the blockchain, think for yourself to confirm the block of information, electricity is consumed, if there is no crypto then miners will not earn, there will be no miners will not be blockchain. I think you cannot compare these two. Because one is a big part of another. without blockchain there would not be any crypto currency and without crypto currencies, blockchain would never reach such popularity.

Yes, Blockchain can be used for various purposes, but when it comes to making payments/transactions, then you need cryptocurrency to do that, as long as it’s Blockchain we are talking about.
