Title: Will blockchain disappear?
Post by: K.Willis on November 12, 2018, 05:56:37 PM
Blockchain Technology in recent years has caught a big stir! Reminds the situation of the emergence of the first online stores and cloud computing, then there was a similar situation.

Do you remember the days of the Internet boom?

Then absolutely every people and each company switched to "business on the Internet."
The rapid development of companies such as Amazon or eBay has caused the great attention of people to the new opportunities offered by the global network.

Then there were many companies that used the mention "Internet" as a kind of "magic spell."
This helped them easily receive significant investments but not only from venture funds but also from more traditional financial institutions.

A similar hype can be observed with blockchain-technologies.
The blockchain is definitely an important technology. But some firms overly exaggerate its usefulness or simply call the already existing services, which are deprived of the fundamental components of the blockchain technology. There was one funny incident, which clearly shows this problem:

In December 2017, Long Island Iced Tea shares rose at 432% after adding the word “blockchain” to the company's name, and Long Island’s market capitalization rose to $ 70 million.

And now, when the noise around the blockchain is so bloated, some companies refuse to use this word at all.

In a new report where Forrester Research says that the word "blockchain" for some companies is now being replaced with the abbreviation DLT - distributed ledger technology. The word, though not so memorable, but partially describes the essence of the technology.

I think that these words will, in any case, be used in the community, as they have already thoroughly entered into our slang.

What do you think?
Will blockchain disappear?

Of course not. The blockchain technology will be integrated into the most diverse areas of our species’s world life. For example, learning to invest in the accounting of working time. The application of this technology can be very different. The most important thing is that this is really applied and not ignored.

The appearance or disappearance of Blockchain are all games that are undue
The future is far from been fetched
And the past seems entangled already

Let’s survive the bearish position first
It’s all that matters now

No, it won't. Safer to say in our lifetime. Blickchain technology hasn't been utilized to its full potential. There is a lot more to improve in terms of innovations, usage, adoption, and securities. At first, only few believe that blockchain technology will have the chance to grow. But, look at the blockchain technology and cryptocurrency, these are very significant in our modern world.

First of all, you got a really nice piece here. The use of DLT can never replace the word blockchain.  The world is yet to see the magnificence of this unique disruptive ledger technology. Funny enough, more and more sectors are utilizing the blockchain and some new researches are geared towards it or hinged on it. Soon people who are talking against the blockchain technology will embrace it, it's certain. So in essence, Blockchain can never disappear in my own opinion, since many sectors including the healthcare is now hinged on it. Imagine tracking immutable records of patients easily on the blockchain, sounds good to me , for instance.

Cryptocurrencies may disappear and I doubt it very much, but the blockchain is accepted in many government sectors and has a great future.

Blockchain is a revolutionary invention and it wont disappear. In fact, blockchain its only in the beginning of its path and a lot of companies, that are not focused on crypo, started to implement this technology in their platforms. Even thou crypto tokens might loose value, blockchain will still be useful.

The blockchain is a technology of the future, cannot disappear, at least in the next 20 years. Nowadays, many large organizations have applied blockchain technology such as H&M and Amazon into their shopping chain. Therefore, I suppose that Blockchain will become the revolutionary in the future.

Blockchain will remain forever in the cryptocurrency. Imagine what is the functionality of the coin if you remove the blockchain? There is no functionality at all. The cryptocurrency, coins and tokens will be useless if they have no blockchain. How can they make transactions on it if there is no blockchain. The cryptocurrency and blockchain is a tandem that can't be separated.

I think the blockchain technology will never disappear. Because this is the latest technology in general ledger recording that is transparent and decentralized. The blockchain is present by changing a centralized approach to being decentralized. Blockchain technology allows network consensus to record and validate each transaction so that the data entered cannot be faked, lost or damaged so it cannot be manipulated by the network provider. So, this technology will not be abandoned by society and will never disappear.

For a technology that is just starting up and have gathered such great momentum with recordable successes within 10years, I don't see the possibility of it disappearing. We should only be discussing the extent organizations will take advantage of it.

Blockchain technology is the future of digital technology and I don't think the blockchain will be lost due to word differences, or whatever terms they currently give. Blockchain is very good, even some countries want to use this technology for banking systems and state financial management systems.

So it will be wrong to say or rather ask if the most disruptive technology the world have ever seen disappear just like that. The answer is No, Blockchain is the revolution and hopefully when go mainstream sooner than later we the early adopters will have a lot to benefits from this technology and the world at large.

Not blockchain - the ability to create on its base, not only that associated with the cryptocurrency, but any service, this technology will be its basis. It's also important to remember: Each separate blockchain is a community or a specific ecosystem, either public or private. The most popular is the public blockchain model.

Cryptocurrencies will take a significant place in the world economy. But for this it needs institutionalization-introduction into the world financial system, this will increase the level of trust of crypto. The main factors of integration of cryptocurrencies into the world are their use in banking services and payment services, this is not for today, unfortunately.

So, thinking that blockchain would disappear is not what should be conceived now. Therefore we need to be well informed on how to explore it, so that we can be part of this great revolution and it be left out. It is in use and will continue to be in use.

your confusion is understandable since all you have seen so far is shitcoins. the reality is that the blockchain technology is a great technology of our time. and the usage of it by a decentralized currency such as bitcoin has been great. it will never disappear, it is new and is improving day by day and is being adopted by more people and companies every day.

the thing is, because of this great success of bitcoin we keep on seeing other newbies trying to get their hands on some money by creating their own shitcoin and fill the market with a lot of them. so we ended up with a market that is filled 98% with useless junk instead of real things.

Even if cryptocurrencies disappeared (which is quite unlikely as we're just at the beginning) this still wouldn't mean that blockchain-technology would disappear.
I've never think if blockchain still be used if there is no currency supporting into this. Blockchain technology become so popular just because of crypto coins and it is bonded strong to have a productive output resulting into benefits of the community and itself.

Blockchain is not going to disappear no matter the forces against it at the moment that seems that is the way its going. I have read about projects done on blockchain by firms that have nothing to do with crypto currencies and more importantly they are reputable institutions with influence all over the economy. This point to the direction of the enormous potential that this technology has and the solution it tends to bring.

Blockchain as a terminology in the world of cryptocurrency cannot disappear overnight as many have adapt to the usage of the said Blockchain than DLT you mentioned. DLT does not explain the full meaning of Blockchain, i believe that DLT was derived from the traditional language and not the Blockchain.

No blockchain will not dissepear. These companies only doing something like these becasue of bear market. Bulls and bears is the important part of cryptospace. So these movements are normal. I agree with internet's situation comparing blockchains situation. I think blockchain will same hype in the future like internet. Only sometimes during prices are decreasing these companies try to stay away from blockchain word.

i do not think the blockchain will disappear so easily. just think about the .com bubble. it may have burst, but the internet and the successful internet companies have evolved and by now the .com market is much bigger than before the bubble burst. it could be the same with the crypto market, but that is just my opinion.

Blockchain technology is one of its kind and as such it won't disappear, rather it will evolve and incorporated into many sectors, all that is required is time and consistency. So to your question, Blockchain technology won't disappear.

that DLT is just too complicated to be used by so many people, most of us already familiar with the word blockchain so why bother to use DLT abbrevation which far more complicated than just saying blockchain, even it's the first time I hear that, so I'm not sure that word blockchain will dissapear.

Blockchain is a revolutionary technology which will change the economy we have now, like internet did. I remember the time of the start of the internet and we could see that the mass adoption took time and there were many obstacles on the way. Blockchain will be similar, but the mass use is more complicated, but more and more companies will see and use the benefits it provides.

It will not disappear for sure. It may not have all the usage we have right now, we use blockchain in many stuff, specially ethereum blockchain is used in many places for many different type of companies and I feel like it would be exactly like internet dotcom bubble.

At the end there will be companies who go soaring into technological monopoly and be giants of the world just like apple, amazon and so forth came out stronger from that dotcom bubble. Some companies will die off into the sunset never to be seen again whereas some blockchain companies will be huge in their sectors. I feel like those huge big companies already exist right now but we just don't know which ones.

For example, the owner of cryptokitties the dapper labs could make some new games as well and become the blockchain gaming giant in the future. Same could happen in many different blockchain companies.
