This increases the backing of the coin and community size. But we have all seen too many IPO scams and the potential risk for investors is too high. When we changed the max coins from 100 billion to 50 billion we forgot to change the rewards as well. We are not making the block explorer and pools - that is why were giving out rewards to people for doing so. The only way you can make a coin succeed is by building a community around it - one way of doing that is giving people a stake. If we kept all the bounties to ourself it would prevent a community forming and the coin growing. It is in our best interest to give the bounties out to people not in our team.
