If we look at the project's roadmap, getting into top 10 next years seems challenging, but not unrealistic.
What are the chances for them to make it?

A big no too. Just because it has secured $120 millions dollar and that will make waves gets sustainable bullish trend? This is a pump and dump market and that's fine if you are expecting it for yourself but remember the chart can say other anytime.

Possible nothing can impossible wheels is circle, nobody can tells what is the future of every altcoins for the incoming year 2019, the wheell of life is continue rolling the same in the cryptocurrency movements.

The ranking of a coin in terms of market cap is not an indication of how useful is that coin and it does not give us any information about that coin at all, do not obsess over it, if you believe in waves and their project then hold your coins or buy more of them, if you get profits with it then who cares what position waves is holding or which coins are above it.

Look at the Top 10 coins in the space and tell me which coins is Waves going to displaced from the list, Waves had a very good weeks and goodluck to the team and investors but to think this has a place in top 10 on CMC, I doubt it. And people need to understand Waves tokens look overpriced currently so take profit

The project is good, but I also agree with the point, that to get to first 10 they need to replace some other coin and they do not offer enough to do so for now.

Very very unlikely to happen, why would it go to top 10 if we have more than 100 projects out there with their advanced technology and marketing.
let's break it down, Bitcoin will be the king absolutely.
the second one, will be between ETH/XRP/BCash/EOS. and other projects are, XLM, NEO, ADA, BSV, and Litecoin.

indeed it is possible for Waves to get to top 10 in the future, but before reaching that point. they need to prove us their worthiness.

Waves, lisk, ark and pivx are my favorite old coins..

These coins where there before the bullrun and they don't need marketing they are working on there projects behind the scene..

Hard pump is hard dump.. You can make marketing to pump the price and dump it on the mass and lock there money, but thats not professional.
Thats what eos, ada and trx did.. They started to scam people by creating coin and deliver it when the bullrun was started..

Thats enough to know why these coins created..


These price pump of waves is because of usdt trading pair on huobi.. Its pure speculation..
Watch out.. Waves is longterm hold coin.. Dont buy for these price..

So there's more 10 spots left for it to be able to reach the top 10 by 2019. Any chance will do but don't forget that other coins that are at the top of it are also doing something for their advancement and progress. It would be tough for waves but for those fork coins it's easy.  ;D

During his career Wave is a potential coin, not even a few investors who consider it the fastest crypto currency, although now he's far behind to be able to touch the top 10 of market-cap, it seems this is not impossible for him to be able to reach that position. Because he still has great support from the people who stand behind him.

I guess it will not in the coming year but hopefully in the next couple of years after 2019. I made this opinion because we are not yet over the bear market and most of the expert technical analysis points out that we are still in the half of the bear run of 2018 and we should see the trend reverse at the end of 2019. If Waves will survive this savage bear market this coming 2019 then we hope that Waves will be in the top 5 or 10 in the coin market.

I never thought that waves would occupy the top 5-10 ranks in coinmarketcap in the short term. maybe the next 5 years will happen and I think waves are not a pretty good coin and smart waves have rarely been in demand

Definitely, there always a chance because the community supported waves.
We've seen how much it has rise in just a short period of time, next is a brand new year, 12 months of development and a possibility of recovery
for altcoins, so I'm betting that it will happen next year. Waves is one of the coins I have invested in my early days in crypto.

Make sense. You're right about that too. They'd have to beat numerous tokens with advanced technology like NEO which I myself believe to be one of the best investment I got. And then there is this BSV, though I hate to think this is just a fork, it will still be on top knowing that its been supported by their community.

Well too early to predict but I dont think WAVES will not make it to top 10 in 2019, there are so many competitors that has more popular than waves to be on the list like binance, neo even there has  significant updates on waves blockchain this year like waves smart contract its not enough maybe we can wait more years before waves can finally kick other coins with new features and more faster tps.

The competition will stay, waves having a volume of volume of over $100 million only showed how big people are supporting this project.
It'a about the volume because even if you have a great development and you only have supporters, you won't be successful, waves have that, and waves proven it. It will take time and 2019 is one year, anything can happen as anything is possible.

Remember, price moves because of us, if we want to make it happen, it will happen.

waves is a good platform in my opinion but it has been struggling a lot to gain a place in the top altcoins mostly because there are altcoins such as XRP and BCH, ETH,... that have been so much better in getting pumped so they take the higher positions and don't let it in.
and when a coin is struggling this hard it won't change in the future either so i don't think it can enter top 10 in 2018 either.

Yes for sure, waves will be in top 10 or top 5 by next year. I have s strong feeling that 2019 will be the year of waves  thats why im investing into it.

Waves is not a top five coin, tell me which coin currently in the top five you see waves replacing in that year? Because to me no coin that is in the top five will lose its place to waves, that does not means that it is a bad coin, because waves is a project that has caught my attention for some time but we need to not be too optimistic about what it can achieve.

I have been following the waves community and I see many new updates that may influence the price this year.  I think waves is going to be among the ten top coins in 2019 but getting to were it was in 2017 is what I don't think is possible.  New investors are coming into the market and since waves like others coins depends on bitcoin for it growth I think we should hold it and see what happens in future.
Even if it did not make it to top 10 we should expect it to perform very better than were it is today.  I bought waves early last year and I am still holding.

Waves is a short term hyped coin and that's it. But it looks impossible for waves to be placed on top 10 CMC in a short time. Remember even a new platform can surpass waves easily just like zilliqa and ONT. Waves can't even compete with these platforms.
