I wish I would have bought double the ETH I did when it was at $84 a coin.  I got a $100 worth when it was at $84.62 a coin.  I intend to HODL it till it goes back up over $400.  After it reaches that I'm going to get more TRON with it.  I have been using Binance for my exchange.  I'm US-based, so I have to buy ETH through Coinbase then send it over to Binance to exchange for TRON.

Within three months you will see this value, so that you are doing everything right.  After reaching this price level, it will be possible to wait for the correction and buy it off again cheaper.

It is so funny, why would you choose something worse other than your first choice? let's be real here if the upgrade is successful.

I'm happy with what I have of ETH so far which is not very much.  But to be honest it's still too volatile for me to consider putting much more than I already have into it. I normally only use it as a bridge to get to the other types of altcoins.  I just happen to grab ahold of a significant amount (for me) while it was extremely low but it's intended propose is still a bridge.  Just waiting for the bridge to grow back to its earlier size before crossing it again.

I wish I would have held my Thousands of ETH I bought at $1... But life tends to find a way to prevent this...

The good thing is that you bought it while it was collapsing. Good price in, I would do some trading!
ETH and BTC are typically slower moving cryptos - TRON would probably move greater than ETH when a rally happens.

So If your plan is to trade ETH out at $400 for TRON, you might realize that TRON has moved to a much higher value.
It might actually be in your best interests to buy TRON now with the ETH, instead of paying a comparatively higher value later...

For analysis work perfectly like that then we could have all be rich but wish cannot kill a bird!  You have to buy when people are afraid and sell when people began to think the way you are thinking now.  Never invest when you become greedy and buy when others including you are afraid to put in money.

if you've bought ethereum I don't think you need to buy tron  , it would be better if you keep holding ethereum until ethereum reach ath again. maybe within 6 month  or less ethereum will reach 400%

Diversification would be better, in my opinion, don't want to put all my eggs in one basket.  I have my current TRON frozen in my hardware wallet and converted to TRONPOWER to use it to vote for super representatives using The Tronscan wallet with my Ledger.  Over the last 4 weeks, I have spread my votes across several representatives (10+) and receive small amounts of TRON and in some cases IGG tokens in exchange.  The longer I keep it frozen the more it accumulates and works for me.

I starting buying fractions of ETH while it was at $400 a coin and that's the point where my initial investment will be worth the value I put into it, to begin with. I have at least a 1000+ in 8 other altcoins as well but they're all just pennies in value instead of $100 or even $1000 a coin.  Though it's not extremely diversified it's spreading the risk and potential reward.  Plus I want more TRON to increase my voting power and thus the differential rate increase of the voting rewards.

I don't agree with your idea of getting more tron than ethereum. Tron is very promising based in the goals of its developers, but trin hasn't proven its capability this 2018 since the market is on the downward trend for the whole year. Better to have more ethereum.

Yes this year especially past 3 to 4 months we have witnessed the worst phase of crypto world till date as it has been a slow kill for the the value of bitcoin and other altcoins as value dropped gradually and temporary pumps were far too less to make a profit or recover the loss incurred.

Mate this is the only thing I really don’t like about investors that they want to have urgent profit which is not possible for sure mostly new investors do this act of selling one coin to invest in other trust me this is not a good act. I have been thinking about this post and I have read all the suggestions you guys have given me.  I want to thank each of you for taking the time to read my thread and posting a reply (especial TwSeventh).  I will take all of your suggestions into consideration.  One thing is for certain,  I still have a lot of researching to do (thanks TwSeventh for confronting me about it).  All of my purchases starting on Dec 30th, 2017 were done because of my fear of missing out (FOMO). I'm confident with the right thought out discussions, I can become a better-informed crypto citizen and be able to offer not only my family members but also my co-workers, and other folks on this board and abroad sound, object guidance.

Buying the exact bottom and selling the exact top is almost impossible, don't sweat it.
You bought at 100 and you're gonna sell at 500 - you're already extremely lucky, don't be mad if someone bought at 84 and someone is gonna sell at 650.
The important thing is to be CLOSE to the bottom and CLOSE to the top.

ETH has shown some nice potentials in the past 24 hrs and is proving to move against Bitcoin at the top. That was what we were waiting for. Can't wait to see at move up against $200 once again.

Any idea why ETH price is increasing? I searched  the internet only to find out some insight about the POS of ETH not launching soon, and the possible transition would happen on the year 2021 at least.  Aside from that, there is no good news that I can find.  Is this the after effect of Bitcoin surging price? Does this mean ETH is tailing Bitcoin for being bullish now?

It isn't that of a pairing, those were the two that has contributed big to the cryptocurrency network. Bitcoin serve as the base while ethereum serve as the base for majority of the altcoins. We definitely cant compare this current market with the previous market and for ETH to be among the coin experiencing the bullish movement in price I think it should be enough for ETH investors. However, I believe the reason why some people seems to think ETH price is slow rise was because they compare it price with bitcoin and doing so will increase their expectation towards ETH.

it becomes the right of every person to speak, and make predictions. there is every right of people also to believe in it or not. Crypto prices are too speculative to predict, I prefer to wait for what happens on the market rather than having to speculate and predict. because of my investment in long-term assets.

if you have already bought ETH for months ago, i am sure you should have at least double the profit now, from just 80$ few months ago, it now has reached  200$ in just a short term, an huge profit for any long term investors, but this maybe not over, i believe ETH price can be much more than now, we just have to keep investing altcoins and hold until the market recover in the future.

I think you have mixed things up here, would it rather be this way, we will see bitcoin grow to 10,000k before we can see ethereum go back to $400, because as we can see, altcoins are not the ones lifting bitcoin up, but rather bitcoin price surge is the one making the price of these altcoins surge too, most especially ethereum and aside the bull run of bitcoin, ethereum and other altcoins still need bitcoin to go sideways before they can  surge like the way they went during the last altcoins season.

Ethereum without bull run is good as a utility coin, but not so perfect as long term holding or investment as it cannot really grow on its own because of the nature of its function.

I don't know if the price of Ethereum can go so much up even if is soved scalability issues, maybe will not grow this time because only bitcoin grow this time.

Today I am surprised by the sharp jerk of the ethereum price. This coin recently barely passed the mark of $ 200 and was at the level of 205-207 dollars. And suddenly today we see that in the table CoinMarketCap the ethereum price is 225 dollars. I wonder if there is an explanation for this sharp increase in the price of this coin?

Don't be surprise, we will be going to that direction, Bitcoin has been stable for a while at $8000 but the bull market is still here so people will shift to altcoins temporarily and that makes ETH rise again, you also have to noticed XRP today, it's up 20%.

I think ETH has accumulated for a long time in the past and this is the new price increase of this coin this year. In my opinion, this price increase is happening in all the leading pennies and we can earn a high profit if we have a smart investment strategy at this time. Now is not the time to sell ETH and keep waiting for the next uptrend in this market because I'm sure the value of ETH will be greater than $500 this year.

TRON is also a very good investment, and the exchange can be done, but I do not see any sense in it. Just compare the graphs of these two cryptocurrencies. You will see that Ethereum is growing steadily and faster than TRX.

And after Bitcoin dumped 12%, look at all the alts especially Ripple also dump even harder. I was just thinking yesterday okay I could be wrong, XRP was going to hit 50 cents this year,,, and then after almost touching 49 cents it now dumped back to the higher ends of 30 cents.

At least Ether is only down less than 10%, so I guess even after such high growth the dump did not immediately impact it. Then again, too soon to say anything. Retracing moments.

Today there is a huge change in the market which makes most of the coins along with the Bitcoin and Ethrreum has decreased a lot in the market. So people who bought the coins at the higher price should wait for the market recovery again because in order to increase again it will take some time. The price of ETH is very close to 220$ which is a good sign in order for corrections.

i think you'd better hold ETH for a long time. Bitcoin reached 20K in December 2017. the price of ETH is close to 1.5k. Recently, bitcoin prices are approaching 10K. However, the price of ether is only $200. it also has a lot of room to rise.

Waiting for ETH to reach the price of $400 I suppose still long. But I will still save ETH and will not sell it. Currently, Ethereum is experiencing a very good price hike. While TRON is very slow and it is better to use the other funds to buy TRON.

ETH still has very good potential for the future, if we are able to sacrifice Eth by making a sale and can convert it to another altcoin like Tron, I don't think that's the best way we have to do it. what you say is true, using other funds to invest in other types of altcoins like Tron to be used as long-term investment assets is indeed much better because these two types of coins have good potential for the future

Both are very promising project for the future but that is future, I will rather talk about which one is more relevant and reliable right now and able to give good profit for my investment, which I think ethereum has more benefit in this regards.

I have studied all the market that was following bitcoin in its bull run and I have come to realize that ethereum is the only one that has ever gained the highest increase. I mean this short bull run we are having now, this shows that ethereum community is stronger and people will always prefer ETH as an alternative investment to BTC.

If bitcoin recover from this little correction which I see it gathering very big momentum to become pushy in the next value, ethereum will definitely get very close to that price in this second quarter. Ethereum has been the most responsive altcoins to bitcoin uptrend during this period.

It is very glaring that most bitcoin investors, as they pump money into bitcoin, they will always choose ethereum as their second option immediately, so I dint see ethereum really delaying any longer in reaching that milestone provided we continue with the momentum we have been walking on since the first of April.

ETH did look very underpriced vs BTC when it was $84. It still looks low vs BTC now, so I think there is more room for growth before selling. The difficult point if you're wanting to trade it for a third coin (TRON) is obviously the other coin also has its various highs and lows in the cycle vs BTC. So it is a case of looking at how both ETH and TRON vary against BTC and then picking your best moment to do the trade.
Although personally I prefer ETH, and would just stick with ETH at least until it has reached a much higher point vs BTC.

Do you think it is a coincidence? I don’t think so.

Ethereum was only surging because investors decided to choose it as an investment coin along with bitcoin, which is why you see that ethereum got this value after bitcoin increased, which is why it dumps too after bitcoin decrease, so we should stop thinking ethereum transaction is what is keeping the value high.
