So I would like to hear everyones thoughts on the market and alts in 2019. Not just what, but why as well. It's been a year since the peak and fall, market has started leveling off as the weak hands have been cleared out, most of the scam projects are dead or dying, ICO are no longer a dime a dozen.  What do you see for crypto in 2019?!?

Hi. Tough to say.
In the short term I was recommending to buy some ETH for a possible profit in the next seven days. I am not backing ETH in the long term (personal opinion). In the middle and long term, I like Ripple a lot, and I also like Cardano.

I like Ripple because of a strong support in Japan by banks, this is quite reassuring when you invest into a project.

But I honestly think the whole market of Altcoins is not going strong in 2019, apart from the few coins I mentioned. My 2 cents. 

The prices of altcoins are somehow getting up and so if they didn't die last year, they may eventually survive. You'd be surprise to see though that those shitcoin that died earlier last year will rose like a phoenix to its ATH. But once that happen that's when you see it will be buried forever. They'd have to do their best to their might before resting.

so, altcoins in 2019 will be green if the demands come back to crypto world,,
but as you said above the weak hands still here,, thats why now crypto market was unpredictable

Altcoins would still be the same this year if the market will not really recover from where it was at high, but I guess there are still some Altcoins that would be a good to invest.

In my opinion, 2019 should have a positive impact on the further development of the cryptocurrency market. Among the important events, it is worth noting the consideration of laws on the regulation of cryptocurrencies at the legislative level, the emergence of new tools for safe investment and solutions from the SEC. These events may not radically change the situation on the market this year, but will definitely play a major role in the future.

I see there will be no change in 2019. But one thing I understand, it seems the market has stopped falling. this will be good, because sooner or later the price will slowly rise.

I haven't seen any clues about 2019, right now I don't think there is a high jump in the near future, some altcoins have now got a small pump and hope this is real towards the next big pump

2019 may well be the year for Eth im not saying it just for the sake of it, i mean eth has serious upgrades and updates in the pipeline throughout the year and technically too it seems to have bounced from longterm support levels so personally im bullish about eth.

As usual we can expect those major cryptocurrencies will be performing well as long as bitcoin market will be staying in positive trend. Some altcoins have already started to perform well as bitcoin market is just showed a little bit positive conditions. Ethereum and waves are such coins. I believe people will be able to make more money with altcoins investment compared to what they do get from bitcoin investments this year.

It is too early to call such a year for ethereum. Because I'm seeing many people are no more interested in to contributing to ICOs. After the series of getting scammed, most people are sharing like they want to stay away from ICOs. In this case I am not finding how ethereum will be finding its success. There were a lot of scams happened in the name of ICO along with platform ethereum. Do not know why people are not ready to trust any more ethereum based on crowdfunding.

Just as people lost more money hodling alts in 2018 (because they lost value faster), they will have more gains keeping alts (because they will grow with BTC in 2019).

But I personally don't expect any ATHs in 2019, not BTC, not alts. The market will recover sometime in 2019, but not to the full ATH. That one will take a bit longer. :)

My thoughts on altcoin this year would be that am very excited as to what will happen to ethereum
I think the would be a bullish run on ethereum if the fuck on it actually pulls through

We would also have some new altcoin this year that would do well also

Its impossible to tell what way the alt market is going to go. Its safe to
say though that all the reputable coins will be tracking Bitcoin.
When it goes up the alts will follow, likewise when it slumps.

Personally I only believe in a handfull of coins and its fair to say these
will certainly track Bitcoin.  

They being Ethereum, Litecoin, Monero, Dash and Zcash. The newer
coins born from ICO's in my opinion are uncertain.

Nothing will change actually. As long as there are no regulations, there's will be no shortage of projects that doesn't bring anything on the table or scam ICO's. But I'm sure that there will be a lot of successful projects to come, but we need to be very careful in selecting which ICO to invest. As for the alts, still the same coins will continue to take its place in the top 10 coins, and we won't see those massive spike though, investors are getting smarter by the day so we might see some boring months and few months with minor increase.

I think that they will recover and again it will be possible to earn good money

In my opinion, I have observed that the market is very unpredictable and especially in the new year 2019 which still does not know what will happen in the future. The current market price is more stable than in 2018, when there is a decline there will definitely be a recovery I'm sure of that. Crypto will be more prospective to think about the future of traders and all the better in the future to realize that Crypto is feasible.

2019 will certainly be a difficult year for altcoins. after so many projects died in 2018, trust in altcoins has fallen. currently most is trust probably still in bitcoin and ethereum, any case it seems to me that way.

Indeed, it seems difficult for altcoins to develop, and this indeed must be able to fight in order to gain trust again.
And hoping for this year there will be a good development for altcoin.

I see new hope in 2019, and the market starts to moves in a good track, it seems everything goes well so the chance to see the price increase will occur soon. But we need to still prepare for the worst if the market turns to go down without notice, so we don't panic, and we can find a way out. Many coins can increase in small price, and it's steady at that level but the chance to break the higher price still possible and we have much time to wait for it's happening.

Scam ICOs still exists ,they are not all cleard out but things are in good shape since the beginning of 2019 now ,I hope the stability will be around for awhile ,with ETF approval around the corner ,with wall street invested and bakkt making a move already I'm sure this year will bring smile on investors faces

The market in 2019 is quite stable, but the ICO's are not that promising I can say, few are having a good plan and aim but many are just copying someones project's idea to implement on their own. I guess trading should be prioritize.

Trust in altcoins like ethereum has been shaken, but not destroyed.
Therefore 2019 can be a good year for good altcoins.
But i think this year will separate the good from the bad altcoins.

quite sad to see the decline in prices in the previous year, even many losses that I experienced. Yes, but it's okay because it's a risk in the crypto world, but I still have a few coins in my wallet, maybe in 2019 this is a lucky year for my coins. hopefully it can cover the losses I experienced in the previous year.

I think altcoins isn't better than 2018 in Q1 of 2019. I hope only it will be better then but can't happen like it happened in 2017 :(

The market had been good these past days and I look forward at seeing them show some growth throughout this first quarter. 2019 needs to be lively to recover loses last year. Hope this year would be great for all of us.

This year is a recovery process and the market will improve soon, we can see this in the market. Up and down running every second will be seen and has a nearly balanced volume, so altcoin can follow the growth of bitcoin well.

You can hope but I don't. Personally, I still see 2019 as a bad year for the Cryptocurrency market because the battle is going on and there is no sign of an end, making the price increase difficult. Big countries still prohibit the use of Bitcoin and the ETF investment funds that have not yet participated in this market make Cryptocurrency less and less investors.

in 2019 it is still the same altcoin and bitcoin are still fluctuating at current prices, until now there has not been much changeon the market except in ethereum and I think ethereum will be the best because of hardfork later, considering last year I think ethereum is a big coin that has development worst.

I see bright future in the cryptocurrency, so far if you are seeing the fact that a lot of people are putting their hopes again in the cryptocurrency. im still waiting for the bitcoin to reach its next block decrease again and there will be no a lot of bitcoin to the market.

In 2019, investors will definitely focus on good projects and have products to invest. ICO in 2019 will certainly be worse than in 2018 and it will probably die because this is not an option to make good profit as before.

it's will do like they always do mostly, especially in this bear market, down. well if some good news like mainnet cannot save your altcoins, we can just only hope for the bull market to comeback.

2019 will not be huge profitable but in general, you can expect a minimum of 5-10x return within the year. Some may hit ATH while most of the coins will likely to hit half of ATH as I mentioned earlier. About ICO, in fact, in a bearish market, ICO will never be such a good profitable investment.

for this year I think there will be no major changes occurred in crypto. many are hoping the recovery but it will not be reached quickly because even crypto does not give the sign will be. at the very least would need more time and a longer term for the restoration of altcoin.

Well as we can observe since then that almost all alts are dependent of Bitcoin’s pricerun. Then if ever this year will end somehow the bearish Bitcoin experience then luckily maybe altcoins will soar up.

I see that there have been changes to the situation in the digital currency market. there are some that are strengthened because the level of transaction volume that has started to increase, it is evident from several altcoins experiencing price increases. this is the right momentum, the growth and development of the digital currency is on the right track. this positive pathway must be maintained and even we should provide continued support for the use of digital currencies.

The legit projects may be waiting for the right time to enter so that is the reason we only saw scam projects in 2018.If the prices of cryptos increases then we will see the legit projects again or we need to wait until it happening.

apart from the obvious facts that new ICOs are dead in their infancy, most old ICO tokens are dying and in a short time the number of altcoins is going to decrease drastically because of high "fatality" rate! i have to say i see 2019 to have at least one medium sized pumping season in it where we will see a new altcoin that we weren't hearing much about get pumped and be shooted up to top ranks such as #2 in coinmarket cap replacing the current old over pumped ones.

but what i hope for 2019 is that we can see at least one decent new altcoin out of all this mess to be created so that we can have something to show for for nearly 8-9 years of altcoin market.

Many projects I think will still come to life after a freeze, and alts gradually go up in growth giving hopes and opportunities for investment.

I do believe a legit project will never bother about timing. I mean to say when you are having confident on your concepts and executing the plan then probably you will never wait for the right time to arrive but you will make any time as your perfect time for achieving your own success.

But, it must be a humiliating fact that we had many scam projects in 2018. Still that must be the mistake of all of us. Yes, we did not do our enough researches to find them out to avoid them. We supported them by some of possible means like participating in their campaigns and contributing into their ICO kind of ways. That is the reason, more scam people started their own attempts which resulted in making ICO industry as no more attractive enough for investors.

Who knows, how it will be. But I am wonder to see a smooth grow during the year and a bull run on the end of the year. Also, I hope ICO will reburn, maybe on EOS ecosystem.

After 2018 bleak cryptocurrency market, most people's investment will be more rational. In 2019, ICO projects are hard to succeed without strong technology and teams to attract investors.

I can only assume that 2019 will not be very rich in bright events in the crypto industry. If the growth of some coins and will be, it will be associated with the release of some of the innovations from the roadmap.

ETH is the best ecosystem for ICO, if you want ICO to revive, it should not be created in any other ecosystem, in 2019 ICO is difficult to revive when there are too many scam games in 2018 and everyone is afraid of it

A mountain of hope.

That's what I see for 2019, I've been always optimistic and these times are one of the best time to keep on moving. Don't think negative and just go with what's on your plan, if you plan to go out to the market then get out. But for me, this year will bring an amazing movement for the market itself.

I see a new light for crypto because the bear market has been able to flush out some bad eggs and that will surely help crypto sphere in 2019,though we cannot be too certain but I see a better 2019.

They are really connected together, when one coin goes up its more than likely all coins are going up, it is very rare that many coins go up while others go down, its either all together or none except very few coins that go up sometimes during bear market but they go back down.

I think 2019 will be the same, I believe there is a bull coming up, we have been a whole year without a proper increase and its about time prices start to go back up and when they go up they will all go back up. It doesn't matter which coin you buy (except shillcoins) if you buy a proper coin you will profit this year.

Obviously, it is not given and there is always a chance that they will go down but I think more than likely scenario will be all of them going 50%+ this year. If that happens it won't mind which one you invested into.

Its good that the market condition makes thousands of project worn off for good that's good and I like it ,so it means that the remaining ones are just better ,well as far as cryptocurrency is unpredictable its all speculations here and there but for me 2019 will bring new opportunities and price stability for a while

I saw something positive in 2019 on the altcoin. Bakkt will allow bitcoin trading on January 24, 2019. This is a positive thing for bitcoin, of course if the bitcoin price rises, the altcoin will also follow it. And for the ICO I hear the SEC will make regulations, so I think 2019 is a bright year for cryptocurrency.

I hope this year the market situation will be better, we are waiting for many favorable events that I think should have a positive impact on the situation as a whole!

It seems everybody is waiting for the big recovery on crypto market. Sometimes or many times opposite happens. Because whales and financial groups wanted slaughter all the sheep. Scary if 2019 is still a bearish year. :D

All altcoin in 2019 will gain there stand many ALTCOIN will rise and market will recover. We will have many investors this 2019

it looks like you are too fast to see that signal, because 2019 has just started, so in my opinion not as fast as that market will be able to improve. maybe this is a point that is still stable in its movements

Security tokens are keep booming in this current year.  There are now many altcoins who are becoming valuable and profitable. Last year,  many altcoins that dropped so much because of low support from cryptocurrency community.

You have to wait! After finish this year market will start bull run or Q4 2019 market will some pump. Crypto market better than others any time pump start.

I think that buying altcoins in a bear market doesn't make sense, when you can buy so cheap Bitcoin.
People are investing to altcoins only because they expect 10x return. But Bitcoin could also mame 10x in next bull run.

We will wait to have a better value, altcoin will continue to run and will have the creativity that is able to generate trust so that it returns to fame. Even though there are currently many altcoins that are worthless but must be admitted this will survive and develop.

tron is doing good. i like them alot. there doing big things while still below being 9-10 ranking.

I don't think shitcoins will return to their ATH. Now investors have learned the lessons of 2018. It is unlikely to be blindly purchased as in the past, the market becomes more transparent, and investors will invest rationally. So, choosing the mainstream crypto is the best.

In 2019, the crypto industry is expected to undergo very drastic changes. The crypto market and the community have learned from  mistakes and tried to correct them. Now we can see a very strong drop in the prices of certain coins and a very strong increase in the prices of other coins. Thanks to this, we can conclude that people invest and believe in the product.

throughout 2018, indeed Crypto prices were very gloomy, and declines that have yet to see signs of a rise in the market, it is indeed difficult now that the ICO project will achieve success without having excellent technology and a great team to convince investors to be interested in participating in investing to be able to support the success of the it project .

But if the crypto continues, the new ICO will always release because people want to use the digital technology for their life. But the investor will be more selective to choose the right ICO because they are aware of how bad their experience and they don't want to make the same mistake. The investor will only choose the ICO that will suit them and will invest with care, and they will learn more about the project.

I think the first quarter of this year will continue to be bearish. Having said this, few coin like ethereum will do well because of major event coming up on it's network. As the year progress, we will see few bounces. The bitcoin positive news and event will lead to a whole new price rise in bitcoin and altcoin!

First of all, I really hope that crypto market is recovering, I know the situation and not hoping the crypto will back to its peak in 2017 but I think it will be better than in 2018. We can see a several price spiking of Bitcoin and other cryptos recently. But then the hacking news prevent the Bullrun, so lets hope the crypto hacking and bad news will stop this year.

Last year, almost from the very beginning, I was skeptical, I realized that the price is too high and will not continue to grow, and now there is a lot of optimism, I think this year the cryptocurrency will not disappoint us

Crypto market this year is not something we should rush in , because most of us have not recovered our money that we invested last year we just have to make proper investigation before investing in any altcoin this year. With what we have been seeing from the increase of price from few weeks ago the market will be at a better place before 2019 runs out.

Yeah, Although it is difficult for most projects that are being traded daily on exchange or ICOs. I still see successful projects that I've ever participated in their bounty like KryptoSea, ParcelX, ... I am confident that this year when the market is more stable, and when the market will rise again, ICOs will still be attractive options for investors.

I see a great prospect in 2019 and I want it to be implemented. I think that bitcoin this year will begin to recover and it will begin to recover the entire cryptocurrency market and therefore ICO projects will be appreciated. Let's be patient and wait.

We need some positive news for the whole cryptocurrency market then you can wait for a price increase in altcoins market before only a few rebounds.

I agree with you, and recently there is a hardfork news that will occur in ethereum this month, in my opinion with news like this being able to lift market movements on altcoin, especially ethereum, and many predict that this year will be a revival of cryptocurrency so it will there is brightness for altcoins.

Downtrend in Bitcoin is not over yet. I think we should wait trend reversal in Bitcoin before buying alts. I look at LTC but not earlier of 0.006 BTC per LTC will be reached

I think that the market will be as it was in 2018 ... The technology will continue to be introduced into all spheres of life, and there will be no changes on the market!

predicting crypto is difficult, I see the market downtrend that occurred in 2018 still continues this year, big coins like BTC, ETH is still experiencing price declines to date. but coins like doge, waves, yesterday had experienced a pump earlier this year. so in my opinion for now, crypto this year will be the same as 2018.

For altcoin in 2019, weak altcoin will certainly continue to die. There are still many shitcoin that are active and about to die. This market will gradually clean and good projects and promise to grow quickly

I think 2019 will be a strong year for alts since there are new coins launching and new ICOs

The top altcoins lost already too much. Like Ripple (XRP), Stellar (XLM), EOS, Litecoin (LTC) they have went down like 10 times.. So if those coins will not raise, i think the cryptocurrency market will disappear soon. So i have the hope about raise and about the bull runs. Let's we all hope, otherwise we have to leave the market..

I think alt will ruse this year if we are going to look at the start of the year 2019 the price is now slowly moving and rising. That was really a good start of the year and I believe that there will maybe a great posibility that the crypto will rise this  year. I believe that the crypto will become more amazing and very interesting because of the huge dip that we experience last year I  think that the huge dip will have a good effect because ethere are maybe new investors that have now an interest of buying some more because of the amazing price.

The future plans matters the most to face continuously the market despite of volatile style. The year 2019 seems like looking good than 2018 because there are more new projects to come and most probably there have more real ICOs than scams if possible.

I hope you are aware of the current market as the value of crypto coins are dropping again massively, Crypto is always unpredictable and expecting a pump has been a concern there were lot of prediction on this but crypto has different thoughts. Let's believe every thing will be fine very soon.

I'm still believe that everything will be alright again maybe this year we have a a little pump that can make a good profit. Just be patience because all things that we lose will be recover again. This year will be great for us and in crypto market.

I don’t see anything in 2019, I think that there will be no movements, especially growth, in 2019 - 2020 the cryptocurrency will pass through the stage of legalization and transformation into a digital asset.

It's scary to just start 2019 when we see the red market. Everything falls to 15-20% today and it keeps going, I can't be optimistic about this market

2019 is the year of revival and stabilization of the market. Projects that have its product and platform will exist and raise its price. We are moving very smoothly into the future.

In 2018, there were some successful projects, so in 2019 I expect them to launch the platform, enter the stock exchanges and some other events that will have a good impact on the course. Also this year, pending the outcome of the SEC, which also should positively affect the market.

In 2019, I see a lot of better things happening.  I see most of the coins being green and Bitcoin and Ethereum maintain their prices. I believe this year will be better for crypto members.

Altcoin will steadily increases their values and growth. Some big project will come out for the progression. Ankr will launch itself and oath protocol will emerges as  first blockchain dispute resolution project.
