Just finished listening to a podcast episode about the future of blockchain and crypto.. very interesting and thought I'd share.

Feel free to discuss, what are your thoughts? Times are interesting after 2018 I'd say.

There's nothing to wonder about Blockchain. Almost all countries are working in this field. However the future for cryptocurrencies does not look very good.

Until there will be another massive support to the crypto. Remember crypto is still very young at this moment. bitcoin alive for 10 years in this year.
The future of technology will be very bright but that needs a lot of time to create a mass adoption just like dotcom bubble.

There is one very important thing to bear in mind here... It is the fact that blockchain and Cryptocurrencies are still in it's baby stage but just take a look around and see the attention that it is attracting, this shows that the future is very bright.

Blockchain is going to rule the world, because there are so many powerful actors that are investing huge money into blockchain development at this moment, big companies and even countries are developing their own blockchain right now.

I completely agree with you. It is so young and it needs a time to spread all over the world. Then we may see upper place than now.

I concur. I just read an article yesterday that a lot of institutional investors are bullish on blockchain. Many of them are still silent on cryptocurrencies but at least they acknowledge the technology behind it.

Blockchain and Crypto are two different things. Blockchain will no doubt have a bright future, Blockchain technology will be used in all aspects including business, medical, political, financial, etc. And for Crypto I am also sure to have a good future but not as good as Blockchain.

Various companies now are adding blockchain to their innovation and this is why its future can't be compared to the other tech's. Startups also considers adopting blockchain and crypto to help gain its popularity.

agree, we know the age of blockchain is still very young and the process of being successful still takes time. this reminds me of the beginning of Yahoo Messenger, which is absolutely not perfect, but look at it now, everything has developed and become better with the presence of Telegram, WhatsApp, Line and other applications. technology continues to be developed and everyone wants the best, so that it can benefit everyone.

Future of block chain and crypto is very bright because crypto is easiest way to earn money without any investment with the help of block chain technology. Some countries approved this technology and some are trying to approved.

As of today, the blockchain is already being adopted across many industries and is here to stay. Bitcoin on the other hand is up in the air, no one really know whats going to happen, but it does serve a purpose. Only time will tell how far this will go, hopefully into worldwide adoption.

I have found it is interesting since 2015 and it remains so far regardless of what we had experience in last year. Yes, I am a long term holder and all the current prices are still a good levels because I have got practiced to levels which were lower than $500 in 2015.

Future of cryptos will be dominant one like it may replace variety of service providers and sectors with its walloping applications hence prices may peak to million dollars too. But, I am not sure how many of you will be agreeing with me still time will make everyone realize the real potential of bitcoins and few other cryptos. People will adopt blockchain first and then bitcoins hence prices will slowly increase as we are currently in the phase of blockchain adoption and bitcoin adoption phase yet to begin.

If everything works out and many people simply do not pay attention to this technology and will not take it seriously, then we will be able to make the majority of financial transactions work on the blockchain many normal banks can control it.

I think this is only about time, Blockchain and crypto will be a bright future as the development of technology becomes more sophisticated. And it's true that the blockchain is still visible early and is still in the process of being developed. We just wait, time will answer as time passes day by day, of course it will bring benefits to many people. Thanks

For me blockchain and crypto this year will be very interesting and there will be surprises, I always look forward to new things in crypto and also blockchain. I am optimistic that the future of both will continue to grow and many people will use this technology.

Future is definitely going to be awesome as we are positioned right at the start of massive new technology where the world will slowly transform and adopt this tech sooner or later, its just a slow or corrective phase at the moment and things can change in no time so for me holding the good coins is the best option.

I absolutely do not think there should be anything to wonder about regarding the future of blockchain technology. It is a known fact that the technology is still firmly rooted in it's infant and the whole process of gaining widespread adoption will definitely take a while. The only good news is that people in several parts of the world are spurning project almost everyday looking to improve the applications of blockchain technology in our everyday life. I cannot exactly say the same about cryptocurrencies though as this still largely splits opinion. The only thing I hope for is a time when I can seamlessly use cryptocurrencies for transactions.

Though some are skeptical about the future of blockchain and crypto,but for me,blockchain technology is one technology that has come to stay,many organization has adopt the technology and many more are still adopting the technology,in the future, I know many country will surely support the technology, as for crypto,the future will decide.

True, but I don't think that the main purpose of crypto is investing..? Bitcoin was created as a digital money, cash, way to pay for stuff cheap and fast. The hodling part and getting rich thing just became part of it because of the volatile nature.

It's true. In pursuit of quick money, people have forgotten the true purpose of cryptocurrency. Of course, salary is also important. But it seems to me that a great future awaits crypto, perhaps in a slightly different form.

It is true that sometimes, there is a mixup between the two. A lot of governments, organizations, firms and the likes want to make use of blockchain technology, but they do not want to use cryptocurrency, perhaps because it is not regulated.

The blockchain has a really big future. If the governments of the countries (first of all, of course, civilized ones) gradually begin to transfer the entire system of government to the blockchain and everything will be done as it should, no particular person will be able to influence political decisions and, accordingly, there will be no corruption, pushing through beneficial ones and disadvantageous to everyone the rest of the law, etc.
This is of course an ideal option, and if it does, it will probably not happen very soon and everywhere. But theoretically, blockchain can play a very large role in the development of society.

I have been talking about the long term benefits of bitcoin and blockchain for years but people keep focusing on the profit part of it.

Bitcoin wasn't created so people could put in fiat money and buy bitcoin and than sell bitcoin and take out more fiat currency. That was the last thing on satoshis mind (probably) when he created bitcoin.

There was a meme about bitcoin involving morpheus and neo and neo says "you mean I can sell my bitcoins for a million dollars one day" and morpheus says "I am saying you won't need to" which really captures the essence of our day, people focus on the neo part of it and think they would sell bitcoin for a million dollars one day but in reality the focus should be on the fact that they will not have to if everyone uses bitcoin more commonly.

In my personal view, I see the future of  blockchain and cryptocurrency being great, like online fiat currency, I also see regulations and mass adoption.

To a large extent I have to agree. Blockchain's technology has already been incorporated into numerous large institutions and many others have large dedicated teams to this end. Cryptos are up in the air.

To be honest, there is nothing to be surprised or amused or wonder about crypto currency and blockchain technology. A number of us are aware of its advantages, precaution while trading it and also safety guidelines while promoting it (bounty programs and airdrop).

I do not know about crypto, but blockchain will definitely be widely used in the near future. Blockchain will be used in many areas. exactly, there is nothing to think about the future of technology, it is very clear and a lot of work is devoted to it. As for the BTC itself, I would also be calm - one year of declines is nothing in the perspective of 10 years of growth.

I mean.. nothing to think about? I think blockchain isn't clear to that many and there is a lot to think about. Finding new ways to use and implement it for example. And I don't think we have also explored all the flaws of blockchain, if there are some. I understand that the hype in this forum is real and I'm also here because I think blockchain can benefit a lot of different industries. Just some of the comments about no need to think, no need to wonder about blockchain, are making me want to write a comment like this. We should be able to think along and be part of helping blockchain to achieve mass adoption. But also, I think that the services adopted, need to be good and safe, and I think this is the part we need to work on and think about.

For me blockchain is very good for currency future, because in blockchain you can transfer your money easier and faster than you transfer your money on bank. So i think you can try to invest your money, because cryptocurrency is the best project i ever seen.

IMHO, Blockchain and crypto still have a future its still "fight for its life" maybe not forever but still have long term period good for long period investment

There is no need to think that we are dying, even though that we are struggling hard for its recovery but I never felt for its vanishing moment. Crypto is always fighting and so we give support on it instead of helping it to dump. High resistance and support from the community as well as from big investors will lighten up the crisis we have. It is not easy to give trust again from a big loss we had before but having hope and continues patronage will be some ways to bring back those money.

The Future of Blockchain and Crypto is of course very bright, because some usd are at stake, just look at the existing coinmarketcap and also many tokens or coins that have not been registered, of course the future of blokchain and crypto is very useful with the support of the community and several countries

I think you can try investing your money, because cryptocurrency is the best project I've ever seen. For me blockchain is very good for the future of the currency, because on the blockchain you can transfer your money easier and faster than you transfer your money in the bank .

I think Jonathan has done a lot of work discussing the blockchain technology,the podcast was very interesting,to me the future of the blockchain technology is bright because of the benefits of the underlying technology

Many developers work on the blockchain, and it is being implemented in many industries, and the cryptocurrency is considered by some countries to be implemented as national, it takes time for the first developments in these areas to appear!

Blockchain itself is a very interesting phenomenon that has emerged over the past decade. And I think that the blockchain has a future and the areas of its introduction will increase day by day. With cryptocurrency, everything is a bit more complicated; without settling the prices, all these millions of tokens have no future, they simply disappear. There should be government regulators otherwise nothing will work.

Crypto and blockchain here to stay, there is no doubt. Second layer solutions like lightning network will change bitcoin usage model a lot, make it faster and allow micro transactions. I bet on lightning network and I believe it will be a main progress maker technology in the space of crypto as a whole in upcoming years.

I believe the crypto market is still in its infancy and will have a spectacular bull run in the coming years. But not everyone can wait for it.

The development of blockchain and cryptocurrency is at the very initial stage. their future is so bright that it is very hard for us to imagine. As 50 years ago, it was impossible to imagine that people can freely communicate and see each other being in different parts of the planet. These are the doors to a new world, to new discoveries. It is so unimaginable that even in science fiction films there are no such bold fantasies.

But if you are seeing the whole chart of bitcoin and it tells a lot about how crypto growth even more than before, most of the people are only taking all-time high price as the main consideration to determine how profitable the crypto is.

sometimes I hate following some people on twitter even with their track record. Some of them led us to some error we made because we believed so much in them. The report I saw again do not look good, $2600 for bitcoin again. I just want the year to run through to June and beyond to see and know where we are going. what is the excuse of an ICO of a month old dumping already in the market now?

Blockchain was invented way back earlier than bitcoin was created so the people take too much time to implement this technology in the right direction.But now bitcoin leads everything which also attracts the people to use blockchain technology on other fields as well but not sure will it be implemented everywhere.

Why is it not good? In the short term, the future of crypto may not be good, but in the long run, the future of cryptocurrency is very beautiful, I believe in the next 3-5 years cryptocurrency will be widely deployed in many countries

I am not so sure what is "blockchain software developer" is really. Like any software developer can learn how to be blockchain developer ?  Or does it really require a set of language that is more blockchain oriented, or does it have its own language ?

Whatever the result it the future of blockchain looks bright but with the hype we had there is a lack of developer for it, there is already a lack of developers in the world since we need more and more of them whereas the human population can breed at a certain level and only so few of them could become developers so asking for something even more niche will take time.

Blockchain will get huge and be something we use daily in time but we require a bit more time for that to happen, probably in 10 or so years we will get there or at least get somewhere close to that.

Yes you are right the development of blockchain will increasing each and every day but the people are going to up and down direction it is because of the comfort level will not be withdrawal by the investors if you want to make money then we can leave our comfort zone and make the work proper then only the future of our self and their blockchain system also being good.

I think those two areas can also be benefited a lot from blockchain. I know that Estonia is already using blockchain based healthcare system and is using blockchain in other services provided to its citizens.

Of course, this is interesting, and it is not surprising that now everyone is working on it, but personally, I didn’t imagine everything that way!

I didn't listened to the podcast and read the article. My take on the future of blockchain and crypto, it's just starting all over again. I think that the bear market is soon to be gone or its already gone and it's just getting its recovery. There's more to go for us and we'll witness those good things in the near future.

for blockchain technology, it will definitely continue to grow and some developers will definitely adopt blockchain even further. but for crypto, unfortunately it doesn't change their value, what crypto needs for the future is better is to make crypto valuable for a product.

Yes, blockchain is just in its early days and adoption phase. We will be seeing much much more developments in the field in next 5 to 10 years.

yes it need definitely I support from something to develop much more in the future but today situation cryptocurrencies are in very tough or situation it need to manager falling of Crypto to the stability level if it happens then the cutoff will become more stronger in the future.

Huge resistance from the community would be one factor that could help to raise the market. Meanwhile, the support from investors aren't great enough to help it out from the situation we have but we are in positive and we can fight these things. Only we need time and effort, we can't drive the market so easily, lets wait and give patient we actually gonna make it.

The future for crypto is not as bright as that of the blockchain. But if for some reason, regulation comes in place for cryptocurrency then perhaps maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel for crypto

I think the general view that no one really can give an answer is that the future of crypto is good or bad. We can only do what we can to take advantage of whatever comes to us. But, what I’m seeing now is very good and this year and next are going to be good. And if you ask me anything about cryptocurrency I will say that they are here to stay for good , that’s because I’m always optimistic about the future of cryptocurrency, so don’t expect me to say anything bad about it. To be honest, it's very easy to use even someone who's not knowledgeable about crypto's can buy and sell it in the easiest way.
