Title: Do you have a reason to stay?
Post by: Dacosta Osei-Tutu on February 05, 2019, 08:46:14 AM
Those who invested in bitcoin way back 2009 had not experienced any bull run before nor have much knowledge about the blockchain technology, yet they took the risk to invest. You and I have witnessed a bull run and heard about the numerous potentials of crypto so why do we still have to feel reluctant to invest in bitcoin. Let's be optimistic about our digital assets because its all we have.

Nope this is not all we have because aside from digital assets we have other physical assets such as house and cars ,but you are right about us being witness to the progress of cryptocurrency not like those who invest and trust crypto specially bitcoin wayback 10 years ago

This is what we all need now, being a supporter and bitcoin holder let us boost each other to continue help the crypto community to progress and stop spreading Fud and Lies about this digital currency

It's an one-sided version of the story and doesn't really reflect on what the community thinks. What made you think that the people who had invested back in 2009, don't have any technical knowledge?? I would rather say, those people were actually more knowledgeable about blockchain than all newbies combined here! They are the ones who actually believed in the technology and not though much about the pricing of it.

Rather, those who have invested in 2017, a majority of them are speculators who don't have any technical knowledge. Majority of them had invested in bitcoin because they wanted to make money and didn't care much about the technology.

Personally, I got involved after I heard about Bitcoin's bull run. I knew about it but I was afraid to get into because It was something unknown to me in terms of how it works.
After I heard about it, I managed to find a job in the cryptocurrency industry remotely. So this is the main reason to prompt me stay.

Despite making so many mistakes because I really believe in this technology and decentralized money and how it can really help people, I have decided to not give up on doing well with Bitcoin and crypto in general as I want to be a role model for future generations and my family to learn more and more about it. I am going to open today two eth wallets for my sister and for my son and going to show my sister how to earn an extra income trading crypto. Although I have kind of been a failure the mistakes I have made I can at least teach others not to make the same ones. This way if others benefit from not making the same mistakes I made on my crypto and Bitcoin journey so far, I will feel vindicated that my suffering wasn't for nothing.

Im not sure people in 2009 thought of Bitcoin as an "investment"
rather they say the technology for what it was and what it was
designed to do, a peer-to-peer payment system independent of
banks or governments and controlled by no central authority.

They didn't see it as a risk, they saw the potential and benefits
a lot of them would have conversed with Satoshi on this forum
and others so they had first hand insights into the technology,
they got involved by building the tech, mining and using BTC

Many people in the last 2 to 3 years have taken the risk of treating
bitcoin as an investment and not everyone has the same mindset
because a lot of people "invested" at the wrong time:
November 2017 - January 2018.

Quote
Let's be optimistic about our digital assets because its all we have.

well yes in a way optimism in crypto is really all we have because
we cannot read the future but we can stay positive, keep backing
the technology and support each other as this forum does.

I have a lot of reason to stay here at cryptocurrency and I don't think any reason to leave loke what other see so they already leave crypto. I stay here because I want to still earn money because I still see any chance the market will recover and become better compared to the last few years. But people choice if they are going to stay or to  leave here in cryptocurrency.

Yes, I have reasons to stay and invest in bitcoin when its price has dropped. Now we have a good opportunity to replenish stocks, since there will be a general adoption of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general, in the near future and most of the world's population will use them. In the meantime, I want to be at the origin of development and be a direct participant in history.

No one could actually invest (fiat) in BTC back in 2009 because there is no trading in that time and price of 1 BTC was 0$. Next year (2010) highest price of BTC was only 0.39$, so anyone who invest 100$ can buy 256 BTC worth today 870 000$, and more then a year ago they are worth 5 120 000$.

First investment in BTC have actually been through mining, people have invested the power of their computers and some electricity, and for that they were rewarded with 50 BTC per block. So we can say they did not invest big money, but mostly their time, knowledge and enthusiasm to create new technology.

There is no doubt that for some of them this technology also brought great wealth, but they are the first involved, and they are the reason we have BTC today.

My main reason why I need to stay in bitcoin is I want to become millionaire or to have a lot of money. That's only reason why I am still here and I hold most of my bitcoin because I know somewhere in this year or maybe next year the price of bitcoin will rise again up to $20000.

Suppose, you should include your purpose why you need to become a millionaire. Maybe it can inspired others who will read your post.  :)

I stay here because I have a dream to create a foundation for unfortunate children most specially the orphans. I am wishing before and now that one day cryptocurrency can make my dream come true. I will remain hopeful despite of insufficient budget.

It cuts both ways

I mean we saw bull runs but we also experienced bear rushes too, and right now we are following one of those. As they say, once bitten twice shy. Apart from that, you can't actually say that the early adopters had taken really great risks. Yes, they had patience to wait (I refer to those who actually managed to wait that long, at least till 2017 tops), but their financial involvement in Bitcoin was not great as they received most of their stashes basically for free (e.g. via CPU or GPU mining)

I'll stay because I have some goals and I believe in bitcoin, many of us thinks that bitcoin can't overcome some problems when it comes to its price but despite of it I know bitcoin can still recover. I lose some money in bitcoin but it won't stop me because I want to achieve that specific goal.

Currently, is surest coin in market is bitcoin and Ripple. I should have amass bitcoin even while it was tanking rather than buying some useless ICO and altcoins that would later become a walking corpse like their father "Fiat". I have a high hope about the future of bitcoin. I encourage whosoever has money to buy bitcoin and hold, for now, am building my offline business.

Probably most people do not want to accept Bitcoin, they are afraid. The risk is great and they are worried about its future. But those who are willing to take risks can make profit. When the price was 20k, everyone was displeased that why they could not invest when price was cheaper. So? I guess it is time to cling more tightly, not to stay.

The big guys in this market still decides to sell coins that's one hell of a bummer but then a good reason so stay too because if one day they suddenly think of stopping to sell then the price might just go up as quick as possible. You would have top be here when that happen. But another good reason is that BTC is cheaper than last year so you can afford to buy now than buying while the price is $19k.

I'm involved with Bitcoin for so long that it has become some kind of way of life for me. It's not only about the price and the price is not the only thing that matters to me that is why I have no intentions to quit Bitcoin.
I think that everyone who beleives in cryptocurrencies as new technology and part of future could find the motive to stay. And there is always a chance for profit too you just have to have realistic goals and not too greedy.

Bitcoin  has passed through many stages before getting to the level it is today and many people and enthusiastic has taking it on themselves to see bitcoin survived.  I could still remember how in 2011 a miner in my community was selling bitcoin below $1 and nobody was buying it except himself.  Now his a billionaire in our local currency and people are saying they didn't know where his wealth come from.  It takes strong faith to be able to buy when the market is down and that is what some investors are doing right now.

You know is not actually of the reason to stay you know. That is the point that most people miss when they are introduced into the crypto community. Crypto enthusiasts all believe in one common thing to have a level of liberation in our finances and also with the use of blockchain solutions which would also help reduce cost of transactions. This is why we keep promoting crypto and not the money we get from it because if crypto is finally accepted we would save huge amount of money that we are wasting in current traditional system.

Let's just reverse the question, is there any reason for us to leave bitcoin? I don't have any reason to leave, most reasons why they are leaving because of the "falling market" and they were done with it. They can no longer take the bad side of bitcoin and that leads them to be disappointed. It's normal, falling isn't only applicable for bitcoin and other altcoins but for such markets that has big investors and large number of traders it's a very usual thing.

Yes, I have some reasons to stay

1. High return in comparison to traditional investments:
In a traditional investments like bonds / stocks / funds / fixed deposits / properties generates very less returns. To generate high return with comparatively more risk, crypto is a very good option.

2. Good time to invest: After seeing a long bear market, this is the right time to enter in crypto. When fear are more, whether it is funds / stocks / property or any other investment instrument, is the perfect time to enter.

3. Technology behind crypto:
The blockchain technology has much more secure and fast for financial transactions.

Exactly, that we must have a high sense of optimism and also take risks. because when we say nothing we won't get anything. Every decision is a risk, minimize bad risk by doing the best analysis. everyone has different abilities, but each person can degree and they will get the chance to succeed.

You have a point because the first adopters were mostly ignorant about the use and significance of cryptocurrency although some lesson sessions may be arranged before the launch and distribution of Bitcoin in 2009. We are so lucky to see several bull markets and this is the reason why most of us are still optimistic about Bitcoin and the entire crypto market.

people invest back on 2009 not because of the profit . they invest only because they love how bitcoin it was . they eventually didnt expect that the btc could rise higher .

for us who are late adopters , the reason why we are here is because of the profit that we can get when we invest or trade cryptos  . there's no point of stopping even if we see a hard dip but as long as crypto is still profitable and have a value . it is safe to continue .

Exactly, everyone who had bitcoin at 2009 was everyone who want to change a concept of payment systems. They need a concept of payment system more privacy and do not need several parties to done so. And this is what Satoshi himself wants to achieve, he made bitcoin for payment system at first and he didn't have an intention to make bitcoin as an investment place that have known by most people now.

Even, I'm not sure that someone who have an investment in bitcoin till now knew the initial purpose of bitcoin was made. Or maybe they only know bitcoin was made as investment place because the volatility price character. However, I just hope, everyone must know the function of bitcoin can be use as payment system so as they will still use bitcoin although they had found lost because of the drastic decline in prices last year.

I don't have to worry if the bull run will not happen in this year because I have much time to wait for the bull market again. I'm in crypto for longterm, so I'm not very influenced by the price fluctuations on short and middle terms.

If price goes up, I'm glad that the holdings I already have jncrease their value. When it goes down I'm usually prepared with some fiat to buy more at a discounted price.

I'm in crypto for longterm, so I'm not very influenced by the price fluctuations on short and middle terms.

If price goes up, I'm glad that the holdings I already have jncrease their value. When it goes down I'm usually prepared with some fiat to buy more at a discounted price.
Fluctuations are giving us way to make profits, taking advantage from those people  who sell their coins in cheap. We were not to be affected if we actually believe that this market will never in the dying situation. We came into many price drop since from the start but we are still alive and we are too far from before. So give my faith and keep supporting these until the end.

The fact is the old investors are the ones that makes bitcoin survive to this day ,without them no one will be here today and the last bullrun won't have happened so kudos to them ,new investors from 2017 are mainly here for huge profits not survival of the technology and many of them are the ones spreading speculations

Let's be optimistic about our digital assets because its all we have.

you are missing the biggest difference which is actually the reason why people aren't "investing" in bitcoin these days.

that  difference is the fact that people who "gained" bitcoin back in 2009 and basically in early years weren't getting in because they wanted to make "fiat profit". instead they got involved with bitcoin because they saw the true potential of a decentralized payment system that nobody can censor and works globally.
but these days most people are interested in that "fiat profit" which is why they are reluctant to buy bitcoin now!!! but if they started to ignore the monetary gains and focused on the real value of bitcoin they wouldn't hesitate to buy it.

Bitcoin has been in this difficult situation before in which for 10 years in the market its continue to survived therefore i stay as i strongly believe that it will overcome this bearish market condition making it to become great once again so lets keep on holding while the price is cheap.

Yes, I will stay here with Bitcoin even under any circumstances, because Bitcoin is very mature and very valuable, so it's very stupid to leave Bitcoin when prices are expensive, because we know that in 2009 the price of 1 Bitcoin was only $ 0.1. And now 1 Bitcoin is very expensive, I will continue here
Not matured yet, but bitcoin will grow older, which makes me sure that innovation from the blockchain that bitcoin has, is still very new in the world. there are still many people who don't know about bitcoin? so we know the "big" potential of bitcoin in the future

what drives a lot of people into investing in cryptocurrency is the ability to make a profit within a short period of time. So many people do not even want to know the technology behind any crypto asset they are trading. As long as it makes them profit within a short period of time. those early investors are the real heroes. They have a perfect understanding of cryptocurrency and they understand the multiplicity in the potential of these coins. even if crypto crashed totally today, they will still remain hopeful in the success of the technology.

Seriously, what does "it's all we have" mean? ??? Are you really serious about what you are talking about? Bitcoin is all we have? ??? If you think that way maybe you are in the wrong place and if you mean about money making and ways to earn money or investment methods, Bitcoin is not the only choice because there are tons of different methods to earn money or invest in something with value. But I still didn't get what's your point on saying these things LOL ;D
To add up, those people who bought Bitcoin in 2009 are not really investors in a way, in my point of view, they are just trying the technology and then the rest is history.

A million reasons to stay is for those people that's willing to take anything as in that's accompanied on bitcoin. I have my reason to stay and that's a lot of reasons.

Why someone who has been in bitcoin has the nerve to get out unless he/she have sold out most of his bitcoin on all time high days. And wanted to live a well off life quietly.

Being optimistic really takes a lot of strength and the people who could not stand it have equally left to pursue other interest. Its even evident on the amount of people on the forum and that points to one direction which is, a lot of people are found when things are going on fine and the moment that is out of the equation only the genuinely interested cared enough to stay.

For me, its about the knowledge that have been the driving force and as long as the forum remains the hub of information to go to, I will still be involved in crypto because its only a matter of time that things will be back to its original point which would be the envy of everyone.

Which real value should these people focus on? I don't particularly disagree with your point that early investors might in fact have got involved with bitcoin "because they saw the true potential of a decentralized payment system that nobody can censor" (though it remains to be seen whether this statement is actually true in and of itself), but did Bitcoin actually live up to its "true potential"? In simple terms, how can people actually use Bitcoin in their lives so that they wouldn't hesitate to buy it?

Then how can you say that people who invested way back in 2009 doesn't have enough knowledge about blockchain technology? Being one of the first people who adopt it or invest on it doesn't mean you don't know much about it, some of them might not experienced to gain huge profit from a bull run but I doubt all of them haven't experienced a it.  People have their own reasons why they don't want or why they are hesitating to invest in Bitcoin or any types of cryptocurrencies but that's their rights, if they feel that the market will continue to decline then why force your self to invest. All of us have our own ways to invest, when to enter and when to take to profit and not all are willing to hold it for a long period of time.

I have reason why stay at bitcoin because always trust one day bitcoin will back to higher price, every time bitcoin and altcoin at lower price but I sure bitcoin become at higher price and have expensive than older bitcoin price.
It will be expensive if we will break the all time high again.
Now, I'm not expecting that since we are in a condition where people slowly losing their interest.
Maybe the time will come but it's not gonna be like in the past where BTC easily recovers after a dump.
Now, since we're from ATH, recovering is not fast but slowly.

I just got to know Botcoin at the end of 2017, so it was quite far from the first Bitcoin in 2009. I am also sure that people who know Bitcoin at that time will never think Bitcoin will be as popular today. And I also believe they are not very familiar with Bitcoin and Blockchain Technology. But they are sure that Bitcoin will have value as it is today. And even though Bitcoin is currently down, I'm sure Bitcoin will rise up and have high value in the future. that's the reason why I'm still here and keep investing in Bitcoin.

I believe in the vision behind bitcoin.
In my opinion bitcoin is the future and it will help a lot people to achieve financial freedom.
I believe that soon bitcoin will become mainstream and ''must have'' for many merchants out there.
It will be crazy to give up now and be sad later.
Right now we have a lot speculations and rumors about bitcoin and some people panic and selling bitcoin.
Huge mistake.
We should just hold and wait.
Trend will change.

My main reason why I need to stay in bitcoin is I want to become millionaire or to have a lot of money. That's only reason why I am still here and I hold most of my bitcoin because I know somewhere in this year or maybe next year the price of bitcoin will rise again up to $20000.
We are unlikely to become millionaires by working with cryptocurrency. The situation is constantly changing and our chances for this, it seems to me, are constantly falling. Bitcoin is unlikely to grow in price enough to turn those who buy it at current prices into millionaires. However, the cryptocurrency as a whole is a very profitable occupation, it can still bring us a good profit, the market will grow and fall more than once. Therefore, it is not worth going anywhere from cryptocurrency. We must patiently wait for the next rise of the cryptocurrency market.

Agree on the 2017 people's point. Most of the people who invested in the year 2017 were just speculators who invested blindly in bitcoin without actually doing any research.
This is what lead to the sudden surge in price. Bitcoin grabbed many people's attention in that year due to the sudden increase in price.
Even the people without much knowledge about BTC invested and are suffering now. I believe that people who invested earlier had greater faith on bitcoin's potential.
This must be the reason why they invested and are enjoying the higher returns now.

I'm not reluctant to invest and I have a reason to stay. I don't understand people who are afraid to put their money into something that lost 85% of its value. What's the worst thing that can happen? It will lose another 5%? We all know it will never go to 0 and chance of it going below 1000 is so small I wouldn't bet on it.  Bitcoin is an incredible gift to humanity and I only hope we will appreciate it.

Crypto is not just for investment but it is considered as a currency just like of fiat money.  We can only utilize those cryptos we have if it is accepted by the establishments but for now, only few of them have been accepted( leading coins in the market).  We are still in the developing period and I believe it will soon to be widely used and accepted by any means of transactions.

Meanwhile, some people who can cash out with a lot of money, and now they are ready to buy a big amount because the market has got a big discount for every coin. because I still have hope that times will change, the digital era will increasingly penetrate human life. plus I have invested my money in BTC, the total calculations actually did not experience a loss, because from buying bitcon in October 2014 the value of my bitcoin assets has increased a lot, and I have drawn the balance of profits and capital. So the rest that I hold now is an advantage, but with the current conditions, honestly I also feel sad, because the asset value seen in mid-2018 has fallen sharply. but I still believe that this condition will improve, I still have high hopes for the moment of bitcoin "halving".

10 years from now, it's a long wait so definitely by that time we already have a new all time high.
ATH was achieve in less than a year and that is because bitcoin is bullish, so what we need is just a bull run and after this long
correction which until now we are still witnessing, I think the bounce back will be big and I'm guessing in less than a year we could have a new ATH.

Do I sound realistic? I believe I do, because I'm entitled with my own opinion.

This is what we all need now, being a supporter and bitcoin holder let us boost each other to continue help the crypto community to progress and stop spreading Fud and Lies about this digital currency
Those fake news, fud, and lies about bitcoin can really affect the market if we believe that news spreading all over social media. We all know that social media is really powerful and can influence people. The reason why I am still staying is it because I know there will be the right time for the crypto world to recover again its market and all of us will have good financial freedom in the future. You probably mean that in 2009 there were not so many sources of information referring to the crypto market and its new innovations. I believe that those who have invested since the beginning of the crypto market are more knowledgeable people who have formed the quality of crypto investors along with the development of the market. Regarding risk, if you do not risk, you do not win.

It doesn't matter what people want

As it is what they actually do which counts in the end. People want to buy at the bottom, and this is what your "people want to buy but want to be sure that their asset will retains its value" essentially boils down to. But who is to pay for the party? If everyone wants to buy at the bottom (which is understandable), who is going to push the prices up really? You see, prices can't grow without someone buying all the way down or up the road

There are lot of reason to stay here because there are many knowledge where you can get from other and share for those who are open to learn. Price on the market always change and those who leave might lose the chance to win again and regret for not staying. Approximately 21 million coins will be mined and factoring out the lost bitcoins, there potentially only 19 million btc to be made available for billions of people. As I see it, bitcoin will definitely be valuable in the future if it gets mass adoption so this is a reason big enough. It doesn't matter if we're  in a bear market now or for the next few years.

Bitcoin will be valuable because like you have mentioned its supply is very restricted so it can be a key reason in the future the demand will increase but for cryptocurrencies even now there are various types of currencies in the market and majority of them have not gain half of the the popularity of bitcoin and the demand keep increasing so very soon there is a possibility that bitcoin will rise and that is the main reason I still haven't left the bitcoin market

Very well said. This post should close this subject. Long story short, pretty much everything is said. Couple of merits for you sir  :)
I do believe in project and I do believe in its good future. I also would like to have financial benefits out of investing in bitcoin, why not. Those are my reasons for staying with it, I think that It is more than enough  :D

Got your own personal point but this do only gives out the positive side but we should talk also on the negative side also.Even we do say we should be optimistic but currently we are facing
the opposite side which do really gives fear and doubt to invest to crypto.

We know that blockchain technology do really have the potential on upcoming years but talking with our holdings ( digital assets) wont give you any security.

This is not the only hope we have. For those who just regard cryptocurrency as their extra income or hobby may not be too much affected by the current value of bitcoin but for those who've regarded it as their only hope, it must then be to difficult for them but, nevertheless, in tides it is not only low tides all the time as well as in season, it is not always stormy season the whole year so I believe it will not also be bearish season for long.

It is not that easy, your message is all about being positive about the future but you are forgetting the present, how can a person be positive about the future when he is losing 80% or more of his investment? I believe the market will recover but I can see why all of those people that are very negative about the market hold those beliefs.

People who invested in 2009 will surely have profit if they invested in bitcoin. Lol if bitcoin price goes up and they're hodling them in their wallet then why wouldn't they profit or gain from it ?
The bear market may last longer as long as bitcoin doesn't see bottomed but will surely hit new all time highs once it bottoms.

Well, once an asset has already gone x300000 up, its room for growth is highly limited, which explains why many of those smart enough to get into crypto in 2009 have already cashed out and don't care about BTC.

I agree on that I believe that the crypto market will surely recover and I believe that in the near future crypto will become more amazing and many people wanted to have it for good. Many people around are now using crypto as an investment and they already gain, however ethe price is really high on volatility which cause a big loss to this e who didn't have enoughf patience to stay. So I think it is better to hold than to leave because crypto will soon rise.

I agree. There is no reason to leave the market because it is the beginning as it it legalized in some country where the low price is the opportunity to have it in cheaper. I still believe that crypto is the future. We getting and getting more digital and there is no way we could not see this crypto system be advanced and developed. People is getting fascinated on having their asset with their full control without third trusted party like banks. This technology is even more safer and convenient than the old one.
yes, crypto has released the link between the parties when investing, this reduces losses from taxes imposed on third parties. in my opinion there will be several countries that will adopt the technology used by bitcoin. we just wait and see the development

That's for sure as even the price has significantly down, it's still way higher compared to last 2009.
https://coinmarketcap.com/historical/ has no data on 2009 cryptocurrency so I guessing it's only BTC is existing that time, and maybe
the price is below $1 and with the current price now which is over $3,200, they make more and they are still millionaire at a $200 investment.

I have observed the drastic changes of its value and indeed it was very shocking. I was shocked in the sense that it rose within a year and got off and never came up for a year and never really got up until now.
News are always terrible until anything goes moving again. Most of the time people are just interested about the value.

Which is the huge dip that you are referring? The market is in decline for a long time and there is always a new dip.
I think that if the Bitcoin price is not going to increase during Q1 then there is a high possibility that the drop is going to go downwards more in the future. I don't want to see that but as time goes by this feeling becomes stronger.

My reason for staying? It was very simple, I would rather lose something big than losing all of it. I already lost a lot of money and this is not the right time to quit (there's no turning back in short) because if I do then that's the moment that I can be considered a real loser which I don't want to happen. I know that the market is not significantly improving 'til now which lead others to bankruptcy but I'm still holding on, hoping that one day all of my losses will be recovered plus get sweet profits at the same time :D.

I can't see no problem of continuing our journey as a crypto investor during the bad times as long as we can emotionally and financially resist the pressure.

Bitcoin gives us convenience in making financial transactions, this is the benefit that we feel most because of the ease and flexibility that Bitcoin has so we will get a life that is far more comfortable. As long as Bitcoin is still there, I will also continue to use it, Bitcoin is a revolutionary and this is a bright future.

It's not only about all the possible profits, it has become something of a lifestyle now. Through the cryptocurrency prism, perspective everything looks a little safer, paradoxically more stable.

We already invested but ignorantly at the peak of bitcoin and got trapped in the hodling zone hoping for a bullrun which is never in sight. In addition, larger percentage of us is not willing to wait for long before gaining. Patience is no more virtue for some fellow. Also, I think people are probably on the sideline or sitting on the fence priming to jump in as soon as the bull begins running.

The Blockchain is 10 years old now, and right now the technology is not that being used in other things.

I've heard it once on an interview about the Game Table, a game table with the blockhain technology. That is the last time I've heard an application of the Blockchain Technology. I know that there are a lot of ways it can be used but I don't think some people are having an interest on it. Some are more focused on making their own coin, I think.

Do you think those people who invested in 2009 doesn't have any knowledge about it?? If you are investing into a coin which is new what will you do?? Will you do some research about it and learn about it. I agree with what @avikz said that those people who invested last 2017 are less knowledgable about Bitcoin compare to those who invested last 2009. They just invested because of profit and not for the technology.

Let's be optimistic about our digital assets because its all we have.
the main reason that I have been here in this field was making money and most of them stay in this field for money only and it's been a very easy way to make quick income without any hard work but smart work is more important to make profit here.

It seems we have to wait long enough to expect a rise in Bitcoin prices, and even then it is still doubtful when Bitcoin will rise again with its highest price as happened at the end of 2017. I think we should look at reality and not be too hopeful, for that long investment for me will be difficult for now, and we should trade daily to avoid the risk of a large loss.

If you are holding a lot of tokens that you haven't dumped since the last bullrun, then its a reason enough to stay in crypto. If you have to make money and prepare for your retirement, investing in BTC is going to be sure way to make yourself comfortable by the time you are going to retire. My reason to stay is that I have mortgage to pay, a kid to raise and family to build.

Yes I have a reason why I am still here, I endure because in my little heart I say that this is an opportunity that we must take, even though we ourselves do not know how long this decline will take place. But I still have strong self-confidence that in the future we will find the moment we have been waiting for.
Why still survive ? Because I believe that the future of finance is in the digital world. And the digital currency is crypto.
That's my reason why it's still wrestling with crypto even though the price is down. Because in business I believe that rising or falling prices are natural.
For the future, rising prices means profit, and that can be enjoyed if you invest from now.

Cryptocurrencies were completely unpredictable, but everyone have the belief that the recovery will take place. What keeps them positive about the cryptocurrencies were of different factors starting from the backing technology to the need of such an evolutionary payment process. At this point I need to make a clear statement, money is the one that keeps everyone stay even when market keeps downtrodden.

Very well-said, OP! We have seen the bull run with our very eyes and experienced its tremendous gains, so what would hinder us to continue believing? We've been one of the lucky recipients of crypto's grace last 2017, and that's enough reason to hold on for me. I personally entered this crypto space when it was so down and everyone's frustrated. No one have ever thought that the next months it would rally high, but it did. Many regretted that had they known it, they would have invested earlier. And this again is the scenario. And I don't wanna regret again that I didn't believe, seeing that many crypto ATMs are being established day by day in the different parts of the world and many companies are welcoming the crypto idea. These are good signs that crypto isn't dying, so just hold on.

Now we have a good opportunity to replenish stocks, since there will be a general adoption of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general, in the near future and most of the world's population will use them. In the meantime, I want to be at the origin of development and be a direct participant in history.

I think its wrong saying the early investors of Bitcoin has no knowledge about the technology behind Bitcoin, I believe those are the really investors who did not only invest their funds but also invested their time knowing fully well what Blockchain technology will transform to in the nearest future.
Most people invest nowadays just to make huge profit and based on speculations with little or no idea about the technology.

As long as you have no debts, have your home(s), cars, children's education paid for, it's not a risk to be in btc.   I have all of that taken care of so there is no reason to sell my remaining coins.   Of course, I've had the bulk of my coins for quite some time as well, so it's easy to say that.     If you're in a situation like that Dutch guy who sold all of his assets and is hauling his wife and daughters around Europe like homeless people, then it's understandable how one would be nervous and worried.

It will only take a few ignition type events to really see btc adoption grow exponentially (more than what has already been seen).   It's fairly obvious that the legacy financial system is a leaking ship with no hope of staying afloat.   More failing banking system type situations like in Cyprus, Greece, and Venezuela, adoption in the real world casinos, more and more mentions in the media (it only takes a few positive mentions in 'near future' type films to profoundly affect the psyche of the average person).

There's no stopping it... like like there is no way to stop the melting glaciers.   That said, btc might not be the surviving system either, but it certainly has more of a foundation and track record than its competitors.

Stay diversified and you'll be more than fine.

Cryptocurrency still has power and there is still a great opportunity to gain profits through crypto. That's what keeps me here and always tries to collect crypto as much as possible both by buying and through bounties and other ways. The more people doubt crypto and they leave crypto by selling everything they have, the greater the chance that I have to get the greatest possible profit through crypto.

Yes, those who invest earlier, around 2009, may still have little experience and knowledge at that time but the price of bitcoin at that time was still relatively cheap. And for us, especially for those who are new to crypto, to start investing in bitcoin will certainly require greater capital and that is a factor that might burden them. Cheaper alts at the moment can be picked as an alternative instead of investing in bitcoin.

Everyone of us has our own special reasons why we are still holding onto the market despite all the negative things that's been happening. For me, I still believe in the potential that cryptocurrencies and the market have to offer. I think if most of us investors and users would really do the right moves, business and investments-wise, to make it work, the market still has a lot of things to offer in its tank. Unfortunately, these days, most people are focused on trying ventures that leads most of the coins to stagnate instead of see the light of the market, thus, diminishing the activity and transactions greatly.

I still believe that crypto is the future. We getting and getting more digital and there is no way we could not see this crypto system be advanced and developed. People is getting fascinated on having their asset with their full control without third trusted party like banks. This technology is even more safer and convenient than the old one.

For me as long as bitcoin exist all of us can believe. Bitcoin is the foundation of cryptocurrency, bitcoin price affects the coin market place, sooner I hope that there's a cure for the price dump and contention.

Truth. A lot of people will have doubts and panic sell but the ones who stay are the ones who will get the best profits. The correction will come, the thing is when. Reason why it's strongly advisable to have money in the bank for at least 6 months-1year when investing here.

Yes, I do, I wanna grow and stay active as I like the market alot and I hope times come that BTC gets higher in funding as it still has unlimited potential.

There are still a lot of ways to make the ecosystem grow, so you are right to stay active. There are many opportunities for people to get jobs and make money from different ways of "exploiting" the market. And also, there is good potential for the prices to rise because we have faced one of the biggest downturns from the beginning.

Btc has a very long road ahead and will make a good bounce back in coming months. Only thing people who believe in it will be gaining as they would be buying and keep holding patiently and during the dip markets can buy more at better rates and make money in best times of the rise.

I will stay here, because I have many reasons for us in the future, because for me bitcoin can really change our lives in the future with many benefits.

Most of us are hoping for the better future that's why we are risking now.
Cryto world is getting bigger and we were able to attract big investors, however the current situation does not look good
because some of them may have manipulated the market and it shows how the price react.

We need better adoption of real people and not manipulators and I believe over time it will happen.
So, if we can hold on and stay for longer time, I guess we will have a better future ahead of us.

Yes it can change our lives "dead or alive", no need to think about the future. Seeing bearish market conditions like this, just think now that you can still live from the profit you get from bitcoin or not if you still can then that's the reason you should stay here.
after all, the future of bitcoin in my opinion also seems to be bright. ;)

I have my money on cryptocurrency, that is one of the major reason I have or let us say need to stay.  I cannot sell at lower price since it will bring a huge loss to me, but regardless, I find it interesting and intriguing how these prices goes up and down, so yeah as long as my interest still exist, I have my reason to stay.
right you have to stay on cryptocurrency because if you leave the cryptocurrency it will only make a loss and I think bitcoin is difficult to disappear Bitcoin will still remain but the price will not be anyone who knows to stay expensive or be cheaper nobody knows.

Indeed, I have so many reason to stay here, first I earned several times in crypto through this I got earned bitcoin of course! where I converted it into my fiat currency. And because of this things I bought a lot of material things in my home even all the expenses til now was all came from bitcoin or crypto. Then, I also have a lot of potential coins in my wallet whether altcoins and bitcoins, in short I'm a bullish for awhile.

With 100% nobody can say that Bitcoin will go back to its previous place in 2019, but many people can say that Bitcoin can win it in its previous place or not, it is difficult to say it to someone other than those who have studied it. If you want to know more about this, you will have to read various blog articles.

My biggest reason is that I don't want to come out with a loss, and I think crypto still has a future, and by holding it I will be able to recover losses.
Most of the people hoping that and yes it will become possible too,We can see the price chart of bitcoin overseas to convince ourselves the prices will recover for soon in the coming months or years. But don't hold too much money if you can't afford it to lose.

Your point is very good to motivate people to think once again about investing in bitcoin! In 2009, I think every people wasn't aware of the future of bitcoin, many people bought bitcoin without any ambition or plan! But time made them expert and day by day many people became expert. Like, When bitcoin price was 500 USD, my brothers suggested me to buy Bitcoin to hold for a long time. So, they understood the potential o bitcoin! From then to now, I am involved in the crypto and I have plenty of reason to stay here forever!

Not everything can be resolved by just being optimistic about the future of bitcoin which is one of the most common things that I see posted in the forum, being positive is not going to give their money back to all of those that invested when bitcoin was very expensive, I agree that when you say the market has potential but in my opinion all of those that lost money have reasons to be negative.

In my opinion, I think people should stay and hang on with btc as this is not over yet. I believe this will be a good year for btc as market is becoming more stable now.
Someone who even thought that bitcoin is over, he's out of his mind. How can this precious coin would end up easily if after all of those corrections that it went through from the past. Take it as a lesson for example, those early big corrections that happened few years ago (except the last we've been last 2017-2018). There's a lot of reason to stay but if you think you're done with this market you are free to go. Don't look for something that doesn't fit your taste.

My reason for staying is because indeed I still hold some crypto and even tokens, I just don't want to sell it when the market is crashing. By looking back and comparing what is happening now with confidence about the future, then I will stay even if I have to sacrifice more time and patience. I've experienced big profits and I'm sure there are many people who experienced that in 2017, so with the ongoing developments I still believe if the blockchain and cryptocurrency have good potential in the future.

We need to stay for the seek of not losing our money but it is not all about that. We can manage to stay in crypto even in a declining trend just because we have seen for its purpose and seems to be beneficial to us. It will come into the time that crypto will be consider as currency and not just a form of investment. If we continue to support this one, there might have a better future for this and also for the people around.

The following six reasons explain why the encrypted money market, despite its decline, still has a bright future:

1. Non-related benefits

The main advantage of encrypted currency over common assets is that when it is related to these asset classes, it has a significant non-correlation. According to the correlation matrix below, we can see that the coefficients of Bitcoin and ETF are relatively low. This is a very valuable feature for traders trading traditional assets.

2. Perfect portfolio

Because the correlation coefficient between encrypted currency and other assets is relatively low, encrypted currency is very beneficial to the deployment of portfolio. This low correlation makes the bear market of traditional assets have no significant impact on the overall portfolio, because the proportion of encrypted currency will be greater during this period. Some successful portfolios can yield high returns by introducing encrypted currencies.

As can be seen from the chart below, 60-40 portfolios (60% equity + 40% bonds) and All-Weather funds have made huge gains through Ray Dalio (30% equity + 40% long-term bonds + 15% short-term bonds + 7.5% spot + 7.5% gold), although they have only invested a small portion.

According to the table below, you can see that by introducing encrypted currencies into 60-40 investments, as well as all-Weather portfolio, as encrypted currencies in funds increase, the overall return will also increase. Moreover, Sharp's ratio is growing in a similar way.

The relationship between Sharp ratio and earnings between January 2016 and August 2018

3. High volatility

For those who are inexperienced, this volatility may be regarded as a flaw, but for those who have investment and trading experience, they know that this high volatility will yield incredible returns. This will enable people who know the data and how to trade, even when the market is not good, to get high returns.

According to the volatility matrix below, Bitcoin and ETF are far from the most volatile assets.

4. Incredible Innovation Potential

Because of the high volatility, in fact, it can get higher returns, so that innovative projects also get opportunities. Any encrypted currency trading tool or platform can benefit users of encrypted currency trading, especially platforms containing artificial intelligence and machine learning technology.

5. Provide an independent choice from the national legal currency

In the international environment in which we live now, the French currency of many countries has been depreciated seriously, so we need a product that is not linked to the country, and can be recognized globally without inflation.

Recently, the Turkish French currency fell by 20% overnight, thanks to the U.S. sanctions policy. During this period, the Turkish people found that buying encrypted currency could help them avoid further depreciation of the French currency.

Encrypted currencies are anonymous and can transfer assets overseas. For many countries, it is a good choice, especially the countries listed in the table below.

About 30% of the world's countries have experienced severe inflation in the past five years. Since central banks in these countries are unable to keep their currencies stable, we can see that in the future these countries will rely more on encrypted currencies.

6. Other investment opportunities are unattractive

At present, especially for retail investors, there are no particularly good investment opportunities.

Most developed countries do not have a good return on their bonds in the case of inflation. But for developing countries, there is a higher rate of return on government bonds. These developing countries do not have enough capital markets to serve retail investors abroad. This leaves a problem for many investors:

"How can we protect our wealth?"

The answer is obviously encrypted money. Because the encrypted money market is still very small at present, we should firmly believe that it will continue to develop, and there are enough reasons to believe that the market will become better and better.

I have big reason why I keep stay at bitcoin and altcoin investment, always new hope one day bitcoin or altcoin back again to higher price, many time bitcoin could lower but always back again to higher price.

Bitcoin never fails to surprise us it can definitely increase in a short period of time or we least expected. If you are believing bitcoins potential for long term them you woudnt matter  if its recent price is slow or high, thats definitely a reason for you to hold on.

for my current reason because bitcoin will have a halving day that will occur in 2020 and I have to be able to have as much bitcoin as I can because when halving happens the bitcoin supply will be increasingly limited and the price will be very expensive because it will be increasingly difficult to get bitcoin.

Of course I stay, I believe that this is the greatest tech we ever seen in the history of humankind

freedom and transparency from organizations and governments that have too much power over their cotizens

we need this kind of tech to empower us and help us be less centralized, more opportunities for everyone

I know right? This is exactly what i think.

However, we need to understand that banks and other centralized organizations will definitely have a place. Why? Because not everybody in this world(we're talking about a lot of people right now and in the future it will only be higher) will want to learn how to use a wallet, how the Blockchain works and all those things. Others will probably won't  be comfortable with the level of security they can provide to their coins and decide to go to a bank and benefit from their security.

A lot other reasons exists and will be created since the tastes, abilities and desire to learn of different people is extremely different between one person to the other.

It is not to say, if you have not been around to experience a Bull run, that you have not heard about it. People still play the Lottery, because they hear about other people who have won millions and for this same reason, people decide to invest in Bitcoin. This is why it is so important to share our success with other people, for them to try to achieve the same success.

I made more than 800% profit on my first investment that I made in Bitcoin and people around me started to invest for the same reason. <I did not have to motivate them, they just wanted to copy my success.>  ::)

Indeed. Being optimistic is a great character we must possess specially now that we are facing the sudden downfall in the price of Bitcoin. If the founders have taken the risks of still continuing on investing into it without any single assurance of its success, then why should we be afraid if we have already seen its hype for too many times. It just proves us that cryptocurrency can be up into some more we don't expect that is why we have to patiently wait until such time comes. Better hope for best things to come in our way.

Either cryptocurrency going up or down, it still can be used to buying something because there are peoples who accepting is as a currency as well.

t is good for people who has continue holding as prices have started to surge and will continue happening. Thus you would end up making more gains than if you had sold last month or couple of weeks before. Also this year could be a good year as well.

Besides those, I think the majority of user who stick around have found ways to profit - So why leave?

Its also great tech with much more potential than the current valuations. We're only 10years in!

Since already invested in the last 2-3 years. The bear market is the best chance to enter. Why leave? it's the right time to enter!!!
