Title: hesitant about investing in Bitcoin.
Post by: Angel of Death on February 08, 2019, 06:20:33 PM
Hello, everybody, friend ...?
Sorry I'm a newcomer, at the BitCointalk forum, I don't know much about Bitcoin, but I've heard a lot about Bitcoin, especially in print and electronic media,
in one day I read about Bitcoin information in this forum, I am confused where to start, because I see many good, positive and negative posts.
For example:

Positive side:
1. Topic: Working for Bitcoin (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5106165.0)
2. Topic: Bitcoin ATM's are popping up (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5104282.0)

Negative side:
1. Topic: Will Bitcoin collapse by a global government crackdown (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5101405.0)

2. Topic: Five Reasons Bitcoin Should Be Closed Down (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5090443.0)

So I was a little hesitant in investing in Bitcoin, of course because I was confused between good and bad, but I was still sure.
What I want to ask the old seniors and understand the phenomenon of bitcoin in the future, whether I continue to invest in my estab lishment or not ...!

for reasons of the above posting factors. (thank you).

If you believe everything you read on line you will get mislead because all what you read online and on the forum are all people opinion about bitcoin and so many factors can influence one's thought such as a lost to scam using bitcoin and FUDS being spread to discredit bitcoin. The best thing to do is to carryout an intense research about bitcoin and you will fine out that most of those things are all Lie's.

You are the only who can answer that. What we have to say here will just add to your positive-negative post list as reference. People have different views about "investing" in bitcoin so all responses here is just based on their own thoughts so you have to create your own.

While spending some time reading stuffs about bitcoi, analyzed those and asked yourself "are this for real"? "is this what bitcoin is all about?" "is putting money really worth it?" etc.

Try to understand "all the risks associated" when putting money on bitcoin and not just because a rich man, a bitcoin guru, a bitcoin professional etc. tells you to do that. Believed me, you will find the answer while on progress.

There are positive and negative sides to any investment with it's risks and rewards. Whether or not to invest is the question the investor has to answer. Reading helps build your knowledge, at the same time, beware of FUD, shills and price speculations.

I think it is great that you are hesitant. It shows that you try to invest carefully and thoughtfully.

Keep reading, but remain skeptical about everything you see. There is plenty of information here, though most of it is low-quality and noise.

Many posters here treat Bitcoin as a religion and dismiss or reject anything that doesn't support their beliefs.
Many posters here invest based on speculative fantasy and wishful thinking rather than cold hard numbers and careful analysis.

As you have write, there is positive and negative sides and always will be. I have no idea how successful we can be in making Bitcoin different than it is. Accepting it as it is, as preparing yourself for the worst. Anyway, when you can afford negative sides, it can be useful to try.

I know how you feels right now and I already experienced it before and up until now I sometimes think and hesitating to reinvest or not to the future growth of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency.

Come to think of this, you are here because you want to know more about Bitcoin then I can safely say that there is a high percentage that you would invest on it because almost all of the people here that are 'active' will say positive things about Bitcoin, you will not waste your time if it doesn't got your attention.

So for 'In my opinion' think which is better, the good or bad aspect of Bitcoin, if the good over comes the bad then invest and vice versa if not.

For everything in this world has its own positive and negative side, it's just a matter of self belief and perspective to that specific kind of thing.

Welcome to the forum.

A nice thread and i understand your concerns about the threads you listed.
A good rule of thumb is to listen to what the "hero" and "legendary" members
Of the forum have to say. They have been around the scene for way longer
than any other members.

You are asking a question on a public forum so be prepared for everyones
opinion good and bad.

A good place to start is reading the bitcoin whitepaper and try to get the
"Facts" of how it works and what it actually does.

Dont listen to talk about what bitcoin WILL or WILL NOT do because
nobody can predict the future.

I think you should form your point of view about bitcoin. All that is written on the forum is just a subjective opinion of everyone. You should read the official documents of bitcoin, read its news and make a decision based on official information. It will be better and more objective.

It's natural that you have doubts and that you hesitate, but you should learn to sometimes take a risk and try something new. There's always a downside, in everything but it shouldn't draw you off from the good stuff. Most of the threads that say bad stuff about Bitcoin are mostly fud and spreading fake news to draw off users from investing. If you can afford investing, don't be hesitant to do so.

You don't have to rush when it comes to investing, as ultimately that will be your money and no one will ever be held liable if ever your investments go down the shrink. Aside from consulting this forum, try other references too to ease your doubt and to better decide whether investing in bitcoin is for you or not. Most people are treating bitcoin as a religion and 'too big to fail' so expect some biased statements towards bitcoin, though there are also the side of the 'permabears' in which they constantly try to draw a line of negativity towards bitcoin even though nothing should be afraid of.

Best of luck.

and from the negative side of the topic mentioned only contains doubts without clear evidence, you must stick to the belief that your bitcoin is worth investing now, doubt means a decline in your success

This is the perfect time for everybody to start dollar cost averaging. If your monthly income let's say $2000, you can try to invest $50 per week. I don't recommend to make monthly purchases because you will be less exposed to the price spikes with weekly investments.

People did this kind of dollar cost averaging stuff in the past during the bear period in 2015-2016 and they ended up with a big chunk of money from $250k to $1million..

all the comments in the 4 topics you posted here are exaggeration in my opinion specially the negative ones since now the price is not rising the negative topics are more dominant from both newbies and FUDsters trying to create panic among newcomers who don't know any better.

it is a good thing that you are hesitant but you chose bad sources to make your decision. try learning more about bitcoin itself instead of reading other people's opinions. you can start by using bitcoin with a small amount and see how it actually works and what kind of advantages it has over the traditional currencies. then it may become a lot easier for you to make your decision.

You said that you are 'sure' about it so I guess it's all about the positive review about bitcoin that you've heard. Don't listen to those negative ones, they are dragging down those people that's interested investing to it. Listen to yourself and combine all the research you conducted with it.

Best thing to do before investing is try to know more important information about Bitcoin, look for different sources as there are lots of websites that will lead you to wrong/fake information. Just want to ask you this, Can you take the risk of investing on a highly volatile asset? If not then it will just give you headache whenever price goes down and what's worst is it can lead you to selling it with lower price, so if you can't take the risk then do not invest. Do you know how to properly secure your Bitcoin? If not then you will probably the next victim of those hackers and scammers, so don't rush and know how to do it properly. And lastly, the technology of Bitcoin is great and of course we are hopping for the success of it but we don't know the what will be the future of Bitcoin so don't expect that you can make guaranteed profit in short and long term, if you are confident that it will have a great future then invest. Don't ask random people because they will just act that they know but the truth is no one really knows even Satoshi Nakamoto doesn't know.

In Bitcoin there's always a pros and cons. And it's up to you if you will let those negative things about bitcoin fill your mind or you'll look at the brighter side of it. It's good to be skeptical and try to get to know more about it and how it works first before making a decision. Think of the posible outcome that might happen in every decision you will make. It also includes being a risk taker. You'll never know if you wouldn't try. But remember there's always a consequence in every decision, either positive or negative.

All kind of investments contains risks but cryptocurrency is one of the riskiest investment because of its high volatility. If you are hesitant to invest in your first attempt then you need to educate yourself first on the basics of cryptocurrency. If you are well-informed and you don't need to hesitate at all because you are sufficiently prepared to any kinds of risks.

Irrespective of the the amount of research you make which of-course is made up of people's opinion, if you do not have the ability to make an informed decisive decision you will still end up wallowing in the deep ocean of confusion, you must learn to draw your own conclusion base on what you read and see happen here in the world of crypto.

This is the period when many are hesitating to invest in Bitcoin, that is also one of the reasons of current situation on the market. Many have lost a lot in previous investments and market is not recovering in desired way.
First informe yourself well about the Bitcoin, blockchain and cryptocurrencies in general. Be aware of potential risk and never invest more than you can afford to lose. Also, never be greedy and don't expect to become rich over night. But it would be pitty not to try your luck with Bitcoin.

in my opinion before you invest, it's better to look for information or good news about bitcoin going forward and learn it well so the results are good.

There is a bearish condition in the market market in both bitcoin and crypto and that is the main reason many potential investors are hesitating to invest because they think they might loose there both money and time but I think this is a great time to invest specially in bitcoin because due to the low price condition when it rises to its rightful value the profit margin will be much higher so if investors have enough patience to hold in the long term now is the time to invest in bitcoin

If you have any plans to invest in bitcoin, then this is the best time to invest when the market is literally low, people who lost their money after investing when the market boomed and never tried to take positions on what to do with them, lost money. There is nothing negative to tell about bitcoin here, the market will rise in the future and that is what everyone expects, i am not sure what other establishments you are talking about, it is your choice to invest, even if you do not invest, nothing will happen with bitcoin. :P

We don't know when would market overcome the current predicament. But, if you look at Bitcoin's price history, you could understand that this is not the end. Bitcoin has potential to come back again and be a future currency. There are many people who had benefited from previous bull runs. If they were hesitant to invest in Bitcoin they could not have achieved big fortune. So, every investment ideas are risk involved. Do your own research and make a move.

Some may hesitate about bitcoin investment and it is due to the market condition which shakes even experienced investors but No other currency in the crypto world can face and also survive that bitcoin has faced and I think there are major reasons why it has the capability to do that and one is the demand or power it has gained as the first digital currency in the world and another reason is bitcoin enthusiast because for any currency to be alive there should be users and without that no currency can continue and even bitcoin lost considerable amount of potential holders still there are many users from the beginning until now and that helped bitcoin a lot to survive with these restrictions or barriers and that is the main reason bitcoin will continue

Newbies hesitate regarding Bitcoin future because many get fooled by looking at the temporary price variation in bitcoin but in reality it is becoming successful day by day and anyone think otherwise what I can say is nothing to worry and bitcoin prices went down due to the uncertainty that people has regarding it and this is mainly because many news and media companies who only show negative things regarding bitcoin and that is the main reason why majority of investors and traders don't believe in there investments these days but I hope this situation will change in the future with with more bitcoin into business adaptation and increase of usability which might take some time but possible to happen that is why we can agree that this is just the beginning for bitcoin and its future progress so there is nothing to hesitant about investing in Bitcoin

Investing with bitcoin is legit mate which you can gain profits on it depends on your strategy and depends on the site you want to invest as well. Because mostly afraid to invest with bitcoin base in some accusation with some ponzi site . But it's easy to prevent indeed its up to us to save our money.

There’s a lot of negative news about bitcoin because competitors wants bitcoin to dump more, and its normal to be hesitant to invest but I have to agree on this one that bitcoin is a legit investment where you can get profit, timing is important so learn more about bitcoin.

And what are those negative news?
An exchange hack isn't negative news because it doesn't concern Bitcoin. It has the same connection with Bitcoin as a car hijacking has to do with cars in general. It has been said many times that you shouldn't use an exchange like a wallet. Exchanges are for buying and selling and wallets are for safekeeping.

There's nothing wrong with Bitcoin and all negative news are FUD.

All that can be found out about the transaction during its execution is the wallet number. Moreover, all transactions are open for viewing in the blockchain. How much and when the money went - this information is publicly available. But from whom and to whom, only two participants in the procedure are known.

I note that this plus is relative. On the one hand, anonymity is great: no one pries into your financial affairs. On the other hand, this is the reason for the increased attention paid to cryptocurrency transactions by the state.

If one day governments decide that digital currency undermines state security (for example, it encourages trade in arms and prohibited substances), anonymity will be a weighty argument against bitcoins.

Truth and not only competitors. Clueless people attack it relentlessly too, thinking old rules of life will always apply which will be proven wrong in the not so far future.

About the starting post, i don't think that a global governments crackdown would do anything bad to Bitcoin at least with the people who hold. Their currencies might potentially become worthless but cryptocurrencies won't care about it.

As you are a newcomer, first of all you need to know what BITCOIN actually is? Search on google & read about it on different website. Then you have to decide weather you want to work with Bitcoin or not. If you decide to go on, then choose among Trading & Bounty hunting. If you have money to invest then go for trading if no then go for bounty. Let me warn you, you have to have a lot of patience. Without patience you'll gain nothing.

I'm convinced that Bitcoin is worth to invest in. Knowing that it is one of the best established coin having great community backup, it will surely be most valuable asset in the future. Having Bitcoin give us the ability to do transaction with the easiest way and fastest way possible. Since crypto offers full control of funds and third trusted party was kept away, this will get even more number of people engaged with it. Let's hold in a wallet that provide private key like electrum and Hodler this helps us maximiy the feature of crypto.

Sorry I'm a newcomer, at the BitCointalk forum, I don't know much about Bitcoin, but I've heard a lot about Bitcoin, especially in print and electronic media,
in one day I read about Bitcoin information in this forum, I am confused where to start, because I see many good, positive and negative posts.
For example:

Positive side:
1. Topic: Working for Bitcoin (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5106165.0)
2. Topic: Bitcoin ATM's are popping up (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5104282.0)

Negative side:
1. Topic: Will Bitcoin collapse by a global government crackdown (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5101405.0)

2. Topic: Five Reasons Bitcoin Should Be Closed Down (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5090443.0)

with more knowledge , acquire information and ideas coming from this forum, just like what you did OP, you check both positive and negative points
and after that you will need to add more factors and influence before you decide.

You have all the necessary needs to equip your knowledge, go and take the best of it as your reference, while trying to motivate yourself inside crypto industry.

Investing in cryptocurrencies should be one's own decision. The best advice I could give you is the best advice you would have ever heard.
The experts say this every time that invest only the amount you are willing to loose. So do exactly what the experts say and decide an amount that you are willing to loose and then invest it in bitcoin.
If in future you think that you believe in bitcoin then you can invest further but at least you would be having an initial investment at that point of time which will help you in making a better decision.

I understand your concerns. There are a lot of newbies in 2017, or shall I say who FOMO'd and then lost their investments because of the worsening market conditions in 2018.

So I'm not going to give you financial advises, but I will tell you one thing. There are a lot of people who can make a lot of money here, but just investing on it and doing nothing. It's called the HODL strategy. Meaning you buy bitcoins at a cheap price and just let it sit in your wallet for a long time. Just like those early adapters did, and then sell some of their stash in 2017 and become a millionaire.

So make your own decisions and if you're willing to take that risk and strategy then it's up to you.

Spot on. Learn more about the technology behind it and what they are doing moving forward. With anything, there will always been a positive and negative, but find reasons for both sides and make your decision.

Someone who believes in Bitcoin then they deserve to be called true crypto. A true crypto always calculates data and they see the development of the Bitcoin price chart from the start. If you look at existing data, the price development can be said to continue to increase, the decline that occurred in the past few months is a natural thing that happens because the situation is definitely experiencing a decline and increase. It seems to me that bitcoin should be studied more deeply, as at the moment it is a promising coin for investment.
The most promising and the most stable among others.
This become stable at no. 1 with a high dominance for a reason, and if you look at the current trend, you'll be convince that BTC is the best investment now.

Price change a lot going down hill but this bleeding would stop at the right time, as to date, BTC is still up a thousand times
so we cannot consider this a failure despite crashing when correction starts.

It's alright to have some hesitation but with proper research, you'll eventually become confident with investing.

What do you know about bitcoin?
What do you know about the function of bitcoin?
Did you know what the purpose of bitcoin was created for?
Did you know the good and bad side of having what bitcoin?
Did you know the factors that make the price of bitcoin decrease and rise?

No one can convince you to spend money and invest in other than yourself. Whatever will happen in the future, only you can confirm and decide on the path that is in accordance with what you want for yourself. Just a suggestion, when you want to know 'something' you have to find out from two different sides.

In this case you want to know about bitcoin (want to invest) then all you have to do is find out the negative side of bitcoin like what, you can collect it as much as possible, then you have to find out what the positive side of bitcoin and you can collect as much as possible. After that, compare the two data that you get and weigh both, when you find the negative side of bitcoin is bigger than the positive side then you have to leave bitcoin in your list investment place and otherwise.

Bitcoin has the strongest brand name in crypto whether it “has a strong use case” or not. Maybe it gets dethroned at some point, but maybe not. No one really knows the answer. There are positive and negative aspects but it all depends on your perspective.
It might be best to look at the purpose of the bitcoin you’re interested in, how long it has been in the market, its market capitalization and its underlying tech solutions.
Do a fundamental analysis of bitcoin first and then make a decision!

There are positive and negative threads in the forum, but you don't need to trust them all.
If you can afford to lose your money, then you will have no problem to investing on something you believe.
Just for your information, there are many peoples deliberately spreading FUD ( Fear Uncertainty and Doubt ) in the forum.

Hesitating about investing in Bitcoin? Then i don't believe you have done a thorough research into what you want to do. This is the best time to invest in Bitcoin because the price is still relatively low. 2019 has started very well and it is very likely that a bull run will happen with the news coming up of late.

Exactly, if you hesitate then just don't invest here.

We know the risk associated once we invest but looking its potential in the future, that will ease our doubts.
They believe it's a high risk investment and that is true, but without proper self education that will remain a high risk.

Care you ask yourself what many are still investing despite the fact that it's a high risk.

For a new comer I always suggest take a good look of market before investment. Market of Bitcoin is very volatile, if you have spare money then it is good for you to invest in Bitcoin. The other thing is you can also join bounty campaign by joining different bounty hunting without invest your money, so choice is yours.

Assuming you already know the answers of your questions. Pretty much sure after reading the mentioned quoted topics from this forum about bitcoin positive side and negative side you already have some basis of truth. By the way, hesitation is a fruit of our conviction neither right or wrong. What is important is we observe every sides as much as we can to over power the negativity.

Never find reasons for hesitations instead just believe in your instincts,in every investing all we need is to be knowledgeable about the products and after this is trust so if i were you try to read articles that talks about the positive area of cryptocurrency specially the number 1 bitcoin ,try to look about the future benefits and not just the profit
In any business there must be no doubt, because doubt means distrust of one's own abilities. Must be sure that bitcoin investment is sure to be profitable. That must be a guideline.
Unstable bitcoin prices are very vulnerable for investors who are hesitant, because they can influence decisions that risk loss. While belief is the beginning of luck.

In my opinion, you don't need to hesitate to invest in Bitcoin. Because actually all investments have risks, and that is not just investing in Bitcoin. Investing in Gold and silver also has a risk. And Remember, Remember Investment in Bitcoin has a very large potential profit if we can be patient waiting for the price to rise. And if later things happen that we don't want to Bitcoin, let's just say that we have a failure in Investment.

You need to be 100% confident before investing in any asset, whether fixe dor liquid, crypto, or metals, real estate or currencies. Anything you do, you need to back up your investment with a belief that you made the right choice. This is no different than investing in Bitcoin. as you would invest in anything else. If you are investing for the longer term, there is more of a chance that your investment will pay dividends if you are investing in Bitcoin for a short term or medium term punt, then there is higher risk in this. You need to set a goal, timeline and also do much research on Bitcoin before you put your hard earned money into it, then stick by your investment through thick and thin and you should come out a winner.

When it comes to investing one of the first things you learn is to only invest in something that you are convinced about, if bitcoin has not convinced you about its potential then it is better that you wait and you keep informing yourself about it, if after you do that you are still not convinced it could be a good idea to find some other assets in which you could invest.

As you have write, there is positive and negative sides and always will be. I have no idea how successful we can be in making Bitcoin different than it is. Accepting it as it is, as preparing yourself for the worst. Anyway, when you can afford negative sides, it can be useful to try.
Crypto currency investments have not been fully accepted and understood by everyone and all countries because there are still many and large risks that we will get in their investments and that makes people feel doubtful about the investment in crypto currencies that no one can ensure future development
it is not a problem for an investor who actually understands the flow of stock investment, they only need to increase speculation, many new people will also be inspired, regulation and a lot of personal anxiety will turn optimistic, the nature of doubt will gradually disappear if it is busy with adjusting market trends
If we all in the positive side, it greatly resulting good by then but somehow many were still on the negative sides after 2018 tragedy happen were unexpectedly huge dumps happens and it continue to dump until early this year. FUD's and fake news spread around which could affect the trust of the crowd, but it won't affect us as we know and understand the situation.

are you  saying that experienced users are not affected by those negayive factors ? hmm i dont really think so .  if that is true then why im still affected? im not new on this industry anymore but sometimes  i feel pressured , confused , depressed  .  my emotions have mixed up along with the changes on the market . i guess those feelings are only normal because our money is at stake here  .

to avoid us from doubts if we want to invest in bitcoin, maybe we can take a few steps. we must first understand how to work and what things can cause us to make a profit, secondly we can do some potential analysis that can occur in the future, and thirdly we can consult experienced traders. maybe there are a few more steps that can be done after this?

I think everyone has an idea about Bitcoin. And Bitcoin is a decentralized crypto asset. So It is so normal thing this positive and negative ideas. You should read, learnd and research about Bitcoin and other coins. And create your ideas. Real important thing it is.

Just to build on this - learn about blockchain technology overall. Really useful information that gives insight to how the commercial world works and how i can be improved.

I find you smart since as a newbie in cryptocurrency you already gather those informational thread in which more subjective to discuss, but also being a smart person i know you can analyze and make own research about those topics to find whats true and not

For more than 10years now same problems has been conquered by bitcoin and yet here it is still standing, hope this will be enough for you to trust and invest in bitcoin and I assure you that if ever failure happens, you’re not alone coz i will also lose

This is the best time to join the train before it takes off. Bitcoin is more set to rise this year because of the series of good news coming up of late and the full developments of services like the Lighting Network. Central Bank of India has also authorized cryptocurrency and Bitcoin is more capable of rising this year.
Sorry mate but i guess its not fair to mislead people in just like that,we never can’t tell when the train will take off, what we know is this will happen but if when ?thats the question

In the short term, due to the impact of various emotional fluctuations, such as FOMO (fear of missing) and FUD (fear, uncertainty and false information), true understanding and ignorance, greed and fear, coupled with the development and upgrading of Bitcoin technology, policies, free asset pursuers, Bitcoin loyal hoarders, the price of digital assets will fluctuate greatly, and it is also expected. In

In the future, do you want to invest in Bitcoin? How do you think about the future trend of encrypted currency? Many insiders pointed out that the bull market is coming soon. This will be the next surge. What is the theoretical basis? It's always easy to get along with others, but it's hard to judge for yourself.

As a buyer, if you invest in Bitcoin earlier, now you will have a lot of unexpected wealth, just like playing "banker game", which is the famous casino profit effect. You will feel very smart and willing to take greater risks with this windfall, and then you may put that money in other digital assets.

I'm also holding on to the fact that everyday, lots and lots of bitcoin ATMs are being installed everywhere in the world. This only goes to show that bitcoin is now getting the attention and support of the larger community, and it's getting larger and larger each time. I'm actually not buying the negative reasons, though everything is a possibility. Weighing things out, there are still more good reasons to invest in crypto, particularly in bitcoin, than to be afraid and pull out. It's greatly potential to transform our economic and financial landscapes. If there is the best time to engage in it, it's now, while the bull is still resting. Once it starts running, we cannot chase its price anymore. It's better to try your luck in crypto now than pull back, be left out and cry with regret soon.

I don't know if ATM's though is a good sign that we are getting closer to an adoption. What we really need is merchants readily accepting bitcoin as payment scheme, to say that we can get a large support group or even be globally adopted.

I would understand people being hesitant though, the market is not improving, so why jump in? In a financial stand point, I would rather used my money in other things, instead of investing and just waited it out till the start of the next bull run, but that's just me.

As we all know and aware to the crypto market, the Bitcoin has been drastically went dip on its downfall. That is one of the reasons why the Bitcoin investors are doubting and hesitating to keep investing on Bitcoin. They want to secure their future but if the crypto market behaves like this, it is very hesitant to the investors.
