The Bitcoin Gold (BTG) project has been started by an anonymous developer with the initials "h4x3", along with Jak Liao, Founder of Lightning ASIC, one of the largest Bitcoin mining companies based in Hong Kong. They created Bitcoin Gold (BTG) to eliminate the dominance of giant companies on SHA 256 mining and provide an opportunity for new miners to participate in Bitcoin mining. What do you think about the future of BTG?

you are wrong. they created BTG to make a lot of money from the premine they also included in it and mainly because at that time there was a big hype going on about bitcoin fork coins literary anybody who know anything about programming was forking bitcoin and creating a new coin for themselves.

as for its price, i was actually thinking it would be a lot more successful that this, at least somewhere close to BCH since it was helping to make GPU mining a thing and specially since ETH was talking about killing the miners with its fork at the time so the ETH miners would have switched to BTG and pumped it up. but since ETH never forked and still hasn't that speculation never came true and BTG has also been struggling to keep alive.

It has been delisted to some exchange and due to the 51% attack that happened, I'm not going to invest with such coins that experienced it.

Another fork coin from bitcoin and for miners as mentioned, they will have a choice but to have a safe bet IMO it's better to avoid this kind of coin. OP, did you invest with high amount of capital on Bitcoin Gold?

Yes it will be a good improvement for this field whenever some new things will appear the people will definitely accept it if it was been in a good usage and easy to make money for all of us so I definitely accept Bitcoin gold when most useful for all.

Bitcoin Gold admin just took advantage of the opportunity laid at that time, there was a trend of Bitcoin forks and they know a lot of persons will want that since its free money, so they create a Bitcoin hardfork bringing no real value to the Bitcoin community.

When it was created people thought Bitcoin Gold will be a huge success and some of them even thought it might replace gold. As of now, it seems that people have forgot about it because I see very little interest in Bitcoin Gold especially here on bitcointalk and also on exchanges. Obviously people expected to be something greater but I turned out to be just another coin that follows bitcoin.

BTG is like any other altcoin that moves with a small volume, but it's still good because developers are still trying to remain a worthy coin for the future. Many investors invest in BTG for the short term the increase will continue.

What to think its just another copy of BTC to make money and go nothing more if you are looking good projects to invest then its not BTG 100% try find good alts with really working features something like DeepOnion ,maybe ICO but with already working product its very important for me ,Moozicore is one of them.

Personally, I wouldn't invest into BTG, especially when there are other more pofitable altcons (as, BTG is just an altcoin at this point).

IMHO all these forks must die. They are all bad for the crypto industry, they must stop using BTC name.

The main reason Bitcoin Gold (BTG) was created was to create a new decentralized block for new miners around the world, because mining on Bitcoin Classic (BTC) was already very difficult for miners with low budgets. BTG uses the Equishash algorithm, where individual miners with GPU equipment will be able to participate in Bitcoin Gold (BTG) mining.
This is so that the new miners with the Low Budget do not need to force themselves to buy the Mining Rig SHA 256 from producers who always compete with their own customers in terms of Bitcoin Classic (BTC) mining.
For the future I think,  did not hear much positive news about BTG but I heard negative news about 388,201 BTG hacked.

all the fork coins are exactly alike and they all die eventually. they were only good in the short term when they were initially released and the market was in full on pumping mode all over but when that ended, so did their lifetime.
you can clearly see that the biggest shitforkcoin of all time called BCH is even struggling to keep alive let alone  smaller more flawed ones such as BTG.

I do not like coins that have a name similar or the same as Bitcoin, but BTG is a fairly well-known coin and I like the fact that developers are geared towards mining the GPU. I think this is one of the advantages of this coin from those mining, which is based on the SHA256 algorithm. In the future, the price of BTG may increase in proportion to the growth of Bitcoin and the entire crypto of the world.

To much problem i think with BTG, several exchange already delisting for currency Bitcoin Gold. Also i hear bittrex got 51% attack for Bitcoin Gold at Bittrex exchange. Thats was not really good for BTG

BTG is not much popular and strong coin at this moment. Price condition is not well and day by day price is going up to down. Most of the people are withdrawing their investment from Bitcoin Gold. This is not a good condition of Bitcoin gold at this period.

Its fascinating that a coin with BTC on it can be valuable over time, Has any on you noticed that Bitcoiin? "BITCOIIN" (B2G) has good value. Sooner BTC2 probably would have good value too. Forks is the easiest to make money, Roger Ver and Crack Wright must have known it long before anyone figured it out.

Indeed, nothing is showing positive trend about this coin and yet more dumps happened in the market trading. I think it needs a lot of efforts from the developers, in order to take more strategies in order to gain much higher demands for us to see good market to gather more adoption. With that ways we can encourage people to hold and trade bitcoin gold, so they were able to hold it as an asset.

I think BTG still has a future, and can develop well. Even though it is in the top 30, the volume is still good and I think the price is still increasing BTG can provide benefits if it can manage it properly.

I don't agree with it but I don't want to argue with you either. Doesn't mean we can see it today on the top 30 it's still good, there's a massive number of traders that keeps the volume alive so it's surviving.

But in the latter part, most of the fork coins are about to die. If they will survive, we will see it then and as long as there are traders on it and people who are willing to buy, it will be alive but the truth once bitcoin gains dominance against these traders will just leave BTG.

Frankly speaking, I have never been interested in Bitcoin wipers. Of course there were interesting moments on the cryptocurrency market to trade such coins, but I always look at my investments From a practical point of view. But Bitcoin Gold does not inspire me more prospects.

what I'm thinking is people will definitely accept if the Bitcoin gold will emerge to this world because gold is always trusted by the people and be kind has a huge development if it was combined together then it will be more popular in this world more than anything.

From beginning I was thinking that bitcoin gold will be in strong competition with bitcoin cash but it seemed it could not break through some resistance place in it ways.  I think it is a good coin but price wise it is not doing too well. Bitcoin Gold is a cryptocurrency with bitcoin fundamentals mined on common GPUS instead of speciality ASICS. Bitcoin Gold earlier gave a massive growth and what it is at this moment is truly nothing. It has got a good trading volume, and the same if invested in the bull run the loss is very big. It carries the name of bitcoin, but it hasn't got the features of bitcoin.

I think there is nothing special with hardfork coin, almost all hardfork coins have a standard character, maybe even below the standard. for the first 1 or 2 years it may have good value and can compete in the market, but it does not guarantee for the future.

Well I guess you can see what mostly can see about Bitcoin Gold, it's on a good ranking but it doesn't mean this coin has a good future. The volume can also be faked due to the big supporters that wanted to increase it's attention.

Most of the forks are about to be dead soon. Good for those who have sold it last 2017 at the peak of $480 and sorry for those that never sold and is just looking to the current price of a whopping 12 bucks.

I think that you are absolutely right about all the hardforks that have taken place until today. They still won't be Better than their originals. This concerns not only Bitcoin, but also hardfork ethereum. If bitcointalk has flown away, then it probably should not be bought, and it would have been necessary to sell it last year.

Bitcoin gold has done a lot better than i had expected. This was purely a pump and dump coin but turns out that it retained quite a high value and demand. Not sure who these buyers are but some people are making money from it

bitcoin gold will be a good coin platform, even though it hasn't been able to happen optimally right now but this might be one of the potentially good additional crypto coins we can see the growth of bitcoin gold prices in the future to see high prices.

They are just mere copy so how they can be better than original. I haven't seen some fork coins that were able to surpass from the original coin where they came from.

Well there are i think bch isn't like the other forked coins since obviously it has quite a following being in the top 10 in marketcap. Btg however, doesn't seem to be enjoying such support. I don't  think many people are taking this coin seriously along with other 3rd and 4th line forked coins.

Remember that bitcoin gold is an original fork of the bitcoin block chain, the fork is a year plus old now and looking at its progress so far, I think there is enough room for in bitcoin gold just like it’s brother bitcoin cash and there are still lots of considerable investors interested  in the coin.

So, I don’t think bitcoin gold is just like every other shitcoin out there existing to make huge money out of people without delivering. I have BTG and I don’t regret investing in the coin yet till I see otherwise which I don’t expect.

I appreciate that golden Bitcoin to be connected then it will be the way to card with but coin gold but people will not be stay in a stable mind with cryptocurrency but if Bitcoin gold was to be introduced then it will be more useful for stability and trust.

No one is sure to give a strong statement that bitcoin gold is good investment for long term calculating its peak value. This has grown close to $500, but the same has fallen low close to $15 which is very bad in the market. From my understanding bitcoin gold can be used for trading needs as it has got good trading volume on exchanges. By the time bitcoin gold might grow big.

bitcoin gold still have chances to grow in the market. but I myself do not have these assets. somehow I am not interested in the bitcoin gold. I am more interested in the ripple and litecoin this asset price movements are fast.

It is BY FAR the most pathetic shitcoin on the market.
Greedy devs saw that BCH was able to sustain its value and many newcomers to crypto thought that it was only because of it being a fork (without realising it is really because a lot of the original bitcoin community was backing it and saw it as a continuation of the bitcoin they knew and loved).

So they took advantage and decided to scam those people, who hoped of a similar success story and pumps like BCH had. Of course there would be none, as BTG does not have its Roger Ver, Calvin Ayre, Rick Falkvinge, Emil, Jihan, Haipo, etc...

Their stated goal was to become A MORE SECURE BITCOIN that's more resilient to 51% attacks - and they became one of the first coins to be successfully 51% attacked. This should tell you how much of a joke they are.

The fact of the matter is that I don’t want to trust the double of my rating rating No, because they may not be of real value. In any case, we must understand that today, the son of these projects can only hold on to the fact that some, even if they want to sell, no one will buy. BTG still has value to date so that it becomes an altcoin that does have a future, even though the profits obtained are few but still grow well.

I do not recommend for future investment, because most of the time peoples are buying the altcoin for long term investment but all are follow the Bitcoin way so BTG is not a place for further investment. Once Bitcoin will going to moon others are move to forward.

Indeed, you are correct. This does not result in a quick dump, because every seller knows they can barely get anything for their coin and hodl with false hopes. The end result - price slowly bleeds. I expect the same to happen here.

So early to boost up bitcoin gold. It was just created to developed the mining system of bitcoin. In other words, it is just a reserved for any bitcoin scandals, etc. I do not think it will become an established coin in the future. For now, i'd rather choose other coin than bitcoin gold.

It is absolutely not a bad idea to have an investment in other coins too since bitcoin bull run will eventually have positive effect on their value.

I am an holder of Bitcoin and I believe in the future of bitcoin but because of its present high price already, I can have more than what I already have in it, so the best will be to diversify into other good altcoins too which Bitcoin Gold is also a very good one with very high potential to shoot in price overtime. At least with BTG, you can be rest assured to hold enough volume of that coin that will in turn make you so many dollars in the future.

I believe that BTG has nothing to do with Bitcoin, because it is just another altcoin that can be extracted on the Zhash algorithm using the GPU. I don’t see any practical use of this coin, but if the developers integrate the coin into some interesting services, platforms so that the coin gets practical application, then there is a chance that its price will start to grow due to the growth in demand.

I do not know why they have to create bitcoin gold. As far as I know,  they succesfully done the hard forking. And there is still a progress with these typical altcoin eventhough it was being delisted with selected exchanges. From what I can sense, it will be ignored like some other altcoins. We can not really know if it will stay longer in the market.

If this Bitcoin Gold has better key features and platform than Bitcoin, it will eventually replace bitcoin. But as far as I can see, nothing is new and is plain basic.

The future of BTG is very good and always follows the growth of BTC. Now BTC prices are growing and BTG is also experiencing growth. I profit from trading using BTG coins. BTG has a very solid team and I'm sure this coin will continue to grow well.

How did you guys claim your bitcoin gold if you kept it in electrum at the time of the fork?


I was told electrumg may be good and the other is coinomi?  Any recommendation?  I claimed my bitcoin cash not long ago from electroncash.

I have not really following the events around bitcoin cash but I was surprised to see it underperformed this days when others popular coins including bitcoin cash are gaining seriously.  It is important we understand that bitcoin gold is now around $25 and that means it is one of the coins that has lose serious values.

I'm really surprised to see Bitcoin Gold as a top30 coin. It's number 27 on coinmarketcap, as I write this post. I have never claimed this fork coin, and I guess most bitcoin holders haven't done either.
I can't really see the use case for this coin and I guess it's a miner coin, without any community or use case.

I do not consider Bitcoin doubles as a profitable investment, because I can not see the real offers of something better, unlike Bitcoin.  Of course, it’s a pity that the forks still have a lot of weight in the cryptocurrency market and their price is still quite high, and if this happens, then someone is interested in this.

BTG or Bitcoin GOLD which is a Cryptocurrency Coin which has the name BITCOIN should be better positioned than Now. Currently on BTG Coinmarketcap is ranked 38th with a price of $ 10.37. Initially I was sure that BTG could be like BCH, I once invested around $ 6k when the price around $ 140 (December 17), the price continued to rise until it reached $ 450, unfortunately after that the price dropped and now around $ 10, hoping BTG could be great again.

That could be possible to increase like before, but it is hard to see it will happen in a short time. The market itself still trying to recover slowly, but this year will be a good time for the cryptocurrency to increase higher. If BTG can pass and survive in this time, I think BTG will be back to the higher price, and it will happen to the other coins too. Many people still waiting for BTG to rise again and I am sure that some people still buying a huge amount of BTG.

It is pointless establishing these coins actually, I don’t really see what the fork of this bitcoin is for, and I just feel that they are using it to just dupe so many people in the market and these are the ones they can really call a professional scam because they know they can always deceive people into using the coin often while they continue to gather the money till they reach the last investor.

There is one funny thing to me, majority of people are still blind to these coins and they keep investing without asking what their real use case is, well, in the next two years, they will really know as most of these coins will be out of the market completely and some other projects would have taken position of these other pointless projects like bitcoin gold that is with fake volume.

BTG is dead and daily volume trade is so small. I can say BTG is a pump and dump coin right now. You don't need to wait for later or sooner to see shitscam BTG lost a lot of trust from the investors caused by BTG was doing it.

Trade volume within 24hours is $14,424,578 USD, how is this small?  I'm not a fan of BTCGOLD, not will I even buy that but people are just mining it and mining cost which is why its also sold for a high price. This fork is listed to big exchanges too  with an average price of $10 which is a lot compare to the others.

Although Bitcoin Gold is at 38th position at the CMC, I think people still buy and sell those coins. Maybe we are underestimating these coins, so we don't have interest with the coin, but if BTG can compete with the other coins, then I think it could raise the position to the better number. But it seems, it so difficult to compete with the other coins as every coin still trying to reach more support from people, and BTG itself needs to prove to be the potential coins later.

I actually still own this coin because I had my BTC before the fork date and haven't really moved those coins since. In hindsight I obviously should of sold when it was like $300 a coin but I am waiting and seeing what this coin has in its future. Basically its listed on most major exchanges which is great.

The price is bad because all alts in general are getting hammered due to BTC rising. I don't think we will see the ratio increase until BTC peaks whereever that might be. Because right now many coins are trading at yearly lows due to the dominance index.

Bitcoin gold has absolutely no trading volume, it's a shitcoin. It is indexed only on exchanges that practice wash trading, so it gives the impression that it has a lot of volume. Everything is fake. It's a shit with 180 million marketcap as only the cryptocurrency market is able to create!

Good coin at it's era, also BTG is one of the reason that can makes BTC to the moon when 2017 (reach $19k)...
