I tend to use computer when I do trading because I can fully see the chart but when I am out in our school I always bring my laptop so even Im not in the house I can still do trading. I do not use any kind of VPN. But, I think if you looking for better laptop for trading I suggest use MAC.

To get a laptop or a desktop depends on your setup. If you're good with one screen, then a laptop would probably do. But if you prefer multiple screens with multiple charts open simultaneously, then probably buy a decent desktop or a good laptop with good specs and good thermals.

Do you have a VPN or a personal Hotspot?
Unnecessary unless you're in a country whereas certain exchange sites are banned.

What Virus Protection do you use?  How about... Mac Afee?
Definitely not McAfee LOL. Malwarebytes + built in Windows defender is enough for me. or better, go with a Linux operating system.

Mac or a DELL????8) 8)
This is heavily subjective. Some people prefer Windows, some prefer OSX. Choose what you prefer using.

WHen you are going to completely use that system for crypto usage purpose then buying MAC is the best optionw where the security is high compared to windows system. But there is no need to buy new one for doing trading alone, you can do all these stuffs in the tablet itself.

Iphones give almost ZERO access to the full deal with binance. You can not see ANY THING

Yes, binance and Bitfinex had some limits on IOS. But IOS app are safer than android , so don't change your device!

I trade on XS Max (Forex on metatrader, and Binance, Polo, Bitfinex on their apps)

How about just trading with............ Iphone or a smart phone device???  Yes/no??

Yes,you can trade.Try to change of your browser into desktop version it might get work, but for doing trade regularly you need a big screen to apply all the indicators and analyze about the price movement on the market.I am always using my windows 10 HP laptop for entering into trades because smaller screen hurt our eyes when we see the numbers everywhere at very small size on our mobile devices.

Trading using laptop or computer is just the same as long as you have the internet since the trading platforms are web based and you don't need to install it so it doesn't matter if you're going to trade via a PC or a Laptop.

The only advantage of using a laptop in trading is that no matter where you are (On a break in your office, on a out of town trip, cafe, etc.) you can use your laptop in order to do trading as long as you have an internet connect but... there are some exchanges that has their own ios and android application wherein you can trade using the applications on your mobile phone.

Do you have a VPN or a personal Hotspot?
I think VPN is an optional if the trading platform or cryptocurrency is illegal to your country but you can always use VPN for personal security.

Quote
What Virus Protection do you use?  How about... Mac Afee?
Antivirus has no connection when doing trading or when in the trading platform... I think the question that will fit in here is that "What kind of security you're using when doing trading"

The security features the most traders are using are the 2FA or a two-factor authentication, also known as two-step verification or let's say a second password and you needed a authenticator application to use this.

Really not confident to understand this is off topic or trading question.

If you want to learn about the computer and security things you can just Google about it. Really confused on these things.

Laptop or no laptop, if you have an android phone you are good to trade. Moreover, you can carry your phone about and keep doing your business. Having a laptop is good at least for home trade but laptop does not do the trading alone, you are the one that matters.

I am thinking to buy a new computer. Fun. Wondering what you guys use?

Desktop, Laptops are way more comfortable when doing trades as you can see the whole interface of the trading site. You can also do it on mobile or tablet but you will noticed the difference. But for a trader who used to do trades on either of each platforms, that's not really a big deal.

You can answer the question without asking some advices from us. It's your money. You can buy a new machine if you want. It's not just for trading purposes but for other activities as well. Just make sure you will target a semi decent build so that you can enjoy your new stuff.

Do you have a VPN or a personal Hotspot?

Don't use VPN in exchange especially if you will used an other country IP. It's quiet a suspicious activity if you have a logged from different country. Stick with your ISP. If such case that the exchanges don't support your country, you have no choice but to used or other exchanges or used a VPN but this time, you need to stick with the country IP you have chosen.

I logged into Binance with my iPhone and iPad and it just does not fully work no matter what I do.

What do you mean by "it just does not fully work no matter what I do."? Can you elaborate the problem?

What I just need is an updated browser that I can use to load the exchanges. But if you are going to do trading every hour of the day, you would rather be buying a good android phone where you can install the app of your favorite exchange so that even when you just wake up, you can peak to the movement of the prices. This will save you time from booting the computer to loggin to your accounts.

Some application from the desktop computer will not be the same when it comes to a phone when using. It is better to use your own PC to do trading because you can clearly see the charts, graphs, buy and sell etc. And you can automatically search what you want to know, a phone is just for verification purposes only, so better keep it in touch with you.

I have this same idea you have in the past and that makes me to buy many tools that I did not need to trading with .  The computer you are using for trading does not matter and what matters is the skills and understand you have concerning trading.

I typically use a Windows laptop or desktop to trade with since it's so much easier to navigate sites and execute trades with a mouse and keyboard compared to tapping away on a phone or tablet; I'm aware there's also Windows tablets out there, but I've already got a pretty capable laptop to use with trading on the go. I've never been a fan of having a hundred monitors, but I have three total monitors on my home desktop setup with the main one being a 144hz Viewsonic panel I also use for gaming and the other two are generic 21.5" 60hz screens at 1080p.

I don't personally use an AV as I don't download or click on anything potentially suspicious on my trading laptop, and using common sense should be enough to keep 99% of malware away. The brand of my laptop is actually Acer and it's the Nitro 5 to be specific; I like to game on the go too and the GTX 1050ti in the laptop is just fine for that purpose.

I'd never use anything other than a computer with a decently sized screen. I've no idea how anyone manages on phones but I am pretty old. Many apps deny features a computer has access to.

Since you'll be logging in and out of sites that hold amounts of your money if you can afford it it's best to keep a dedicated laptop that isn't used to access generalised websites. You never know what you may pick up out there.

You'd also need an adequate processor and ram. It's bonkers how overwhelming certain web pages are on a piece of crap 2gb intel atom machine.

Yes a laptop or desktop will work fine. Laptops can use windows updated antivirus and so can desktops. Both should be able to handle charts and trading websites too. With laptops though you have the added ability of putting it on your lap :) helps strain your back much less than having to sit in front of a desktop always.

Having both laptop and fast smartphone is necessary for every trader. It is almost impossible to continue trading with phone screen,so let's accept facts straightly. Laptop with the latest processor and at least 8 GB of Video card is required for running multiple platforms.

Tell me About IT!!  I am seeing these 4GB RAM laptops.  My needs are at least 8GB.  Im thinking it will need to be brand spankin new.

Should I order one online?? Amazon?? What model?? It looks like I am leaning towards not getting a Mac because they are so pricey.. It'd be Cool to get a laptop, then attach a seperate mini monitor... to have Dual Monitors but Portable so it fits in a little travel case. This new setup I get will be BOSS.

If your budget can't afford to buy a new laptop with these specifications then go for used or refurbished laptops under 400 bucks. You need to give something for getting the same value. After a few profitable trades, you can put back the same amount to your pocket ;)

I can’t bring my laptop anywhere I go because of the weight so I decided to buy a good phone which is more convenient to use. Laptop is good for using many indicators and for a hardcore trader, but if not better to buy good phone, which you don’t need wifi to use because of the data available on your plan.

Depends where you live. I live in the United States and buy most of my refurb and used computer parts off of Ebay and Newegg (site accepts Bitcoin for all products not sold by third-party vendors). Ebay's pretty good with buyer support so you'll be able to get a refund or replacement in case things aren't as described, and Newegg directly accepts Bitcoin for most products so you don't have to go through the process of trading your crypto into fiat or a gift card if you're buying a laptop with BTC.

BTW, I 110% Agree, it would be better having a Data Plan, instead of WiFi....

You use an ANDROID of some kind?   BUT with Android, you cannot see all the INDICATORS.  All the Bells & Whistels

Whichever you buy, keep everything backed up. You can have an external hard disk for that purpose.

I do it with my smartphone if you are fine with small screen (comparing smartphone to laptop or desktop) as I use fullscreen to watch the charts and I don't take worried decisions. But if you want to trade like scalping technically and you want to do it within a fraction of a second or something like that, then laptop or PC is good.

I don't use VPN as in my country, we are neither allowed nor banned from using crypto so I'm fine. You can use HotShield if you want to. Personal hotspot is fine if you are getting good data volume to be used daily.

I'm using Mac. I feel secure using this laptop.
Also, easy to move around if you have larger screen.
But if there's urgent need, I use my phone.

I'm using my own personal wifi also when I'm out.
If you will just hook up with any available internet connection, you are opening yourself to risk.

I use to trade using my smart phone and tablet, however there are times loading the page is slow and by the time the page is already uploaded, price has changed already so that's a lost opportunity for us. I just use my smart phone in monitoring the price through Blockfolio and store some coins too in my mobile wallet. I am using Trust Wallet.

If you only need to solely run Binance alone with no other program or app that's going to need good hardware, then you're probably fine with that model. Just take note that you wouldn't probably get that laptop working for other more resource-hungry stuff like gaming.

In my smartphone I use a http injector (vpn) when connecting to internet, I suggest do you dude buy what can you think it easy to use no hasle because in trading all you need is your analysis.By the way in my laptop I use Avira antivirus.

In my own side I made use of my android phone which is very simple and easy to carry around, you dont need much app for this just your TABTRADER app and CMC app to monitor the market is ok now u have to link your TABTRADER with any Exchanger you are using with the API from the Exchanger to the TABTRADER and you are good to go.

And another thing is you don't need to make use of VPN in other to trade most Exchangers don't require you use VPN on their site, and this brought about blockage of IP and as well Frozed your account when suspicious activities is been detected.

When i am in home i use desktop as it is convenient to use it, but when i am in office i use laptop as i dont want to use office computer as i dont want to expose my cryptocurrency work to any other place. But when i am out i use my android phone which is more feasible to use in any place. So i have all option ready to use in any situation as i am doing day trading so i have to be ready in all situations.

There is no computer that is special and most importantly that you are comfortable using it, besides that you also have to be able to make sure the computer you are using is at a good level of security. Do not let the computer infected by the virus because it can make transactions that you do are not safe. Trading is a job that requires good security, if not then the assets you have lost will be stolen.

Actually there ARE special computer from different purposes such as a gaming laptop or a work laptop (IMO a Macbook or pro may be considered as a good work laptop) but when it comes to trading, I think that any laptop or desktop would do so long as it has a good screen and battery life. Don't use one that lags easily or crashes because you'll surely get frustrated or may even lose your information. Security really is important and if you know how to use a VPN, that would be preferable since the information becomes encrypted.

I bought a new laptop. I went in there to planning to spend under $300 and walked out with a $600 laptop plus tax..... It is a CHrome Book. Are these things not that great???  WIth Chrome book, i am sort of limited with what i can do???  This one has 8Gigs of RaM. It is heavy too. I put it in my backpack. It's way heavy. There was another one for less expensive with a larger screen and more buttons (including the number pad) . But the other one was not CHROME.. Does Chrome majorly suck for what we are doing???? just trading and using the forums.

I have the option to return this laptop with in 14 days.  This one can have many tabs of Binance open at once. I checked a bunch of machines with 4 Gigs of RaM and they were not able to support multiple tabs of Binance windows open.

Anybody think Chrome sucks???

Get a VPN. You can get VPNs like Windscribe that give you 10GB free a month which should be more than enough as long as there's no video or downloading involved. There may well be others but that's what I started off with. I wouldn't use public wifi without it. I absolutely definitely wouldn't do anything financial on public wifi without one.

How about just trading with............ Iphone or a smart phone device???  Yes/no??

I logged into Binance with my iPhone and iPad and it just does not fully work no matter what I do.
I use Binance occasionally, but it's always been on my desktop PC, running the typical Windows 10 with McAfee.  Never tried it on my phone, but that surprises me that you're having a hard time with them on your phone--I imagine lots of traders do a substantial amount of business on the go.

When I used to fool around with trading on Yobit (not recommended these days), I would often place orders while out for a walk in my neighborhood, and it was very easy to do it.  Then again, I had no use for a lot of the graphical trading tools, which wouldn't look so hot on a tiny smartphone.  Ultimately, whatever you choose should work just fine for you.  My computer eventually bit the dust because it was old, but Binance was still fully functional when I used that PC to access their site.  Good luck.

If you are a professional trader, you really do not need much "pluggins" or special software to trade effectively.Just a simple laptop (with the general security precautions such as not sharing it with others),and a TradingView account for your charts.I doubt if there are trading bots that are effective at the moment.Cryptocurrency has not hit that level of sophistication as we have in Wall Street trading

I am thinking to buy a new computer. Fun. Wondering what you guys use?

Any special computer or just any ol' machine will do?! ::) ::) ::) ::)

Do you have a VPN or a personal Hotspot?

What Virus Protection do you use?  How about... Mac Afee?

Mac or a DELL???? 8) 8)

Security really is important and if you know how to use a VPN, that would be preferable since the information becomes encrypted.
Outdated pc or laptops would really give you a headache when it comes to processing power and execution of programs and knowing trading platforms would really need up some
good processor PC or laps.
It is true that there are specific types of laptops which either can be gaming or intended for work but i usually suggest HP elitebook when it comes to battery life compared to others.
Too long to drained out battery and i have tested it among other brand of laptops as well.
VPN isnt necessary yet most trading platforms can be accessed by any county so i dont see a problem in regards to this.

If you want to use laptop or desktop is totally up to you. It actually depends on what you do. Laptops are actually more compact and easy to carry anywhere. So if you travel a lot and you need to keep an eye on the charts, then a laptop would do really good. You can use your phone but most exchanges have a laggy/bad mobile interface.

I agree whole HEartedly!!!!  To be FRANK. All of the light weight laptop models are all 4GB of RAM.  All the 8GB ones are heavy.  Hard to carry around... :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(  I like this machine but it's going to be returned.. and exchanged for something better for me. I am NOT spending more than $600 on a laptop.

laptops are bulky but phones are not  .  although laptop are more better to use when trading because you can see the whole screen which gives you easier navigation  .

you can do this via your mobile phone as they can access the internet verry fast and less hasle  .

most traders including me are all using laptop when we do trading  but we also need our phone beside us because our phone will recieve the code for the 2fa's  before you can login on your trading account .

I'm using my desktop for trading when i'm at home and smartphone when i'm outside. I don't use VPN when trading except to open "those" website. For me, It doesn't matter what's your pc brand. At least get a pc with 4GB memory for your convenience.
I do use a 4gb memory laptop before which was quite very convenient and does not lag but I had to upgrade to the 8gb ram with a higher processor when I started playing high graphic games with it and also mining some of these small altcoins that can still be mined on system even though it still doesn’t get me the result I expect. So if it’s strictly for trading alone.

I think the 4gb ram laptop is very ok as you said. Well, I use vpn and I use express vpn when I am on exchanges that are decentralized to avoid unnecessary vulnerabilities

Well, it depends on your trading system. If you are an active trader and trading on small tf, you'd better buy a more specialized computer. If you are not that kind of person, laptop should be enough to do everything.

I often use Laptop for my trading which is still the best but I sometimes use my Iphone/Ipad on the go when I don’t have access to my laptop and when I don’t put my stop loss tool in place.

I also connect my desktop too sometimes to my 55 inches screen when I feel like having a wider screen but all these are just extra personal things and not all necessary, the most important of it all is to have your laptop or mobile phone coupled with your skills of technical and fundamental analysis.

Trading can be done on tablets and on cell phones also but I will recommend using laptop. One of the reason is that laptop has a big screen and it can better help you. Secondly I think all the features are not available on mobile versions of exchanges as compare to laptop/desktop.

Mobile / Cell phones can be used to view only the prices and for placing the orders, I only use my laptop.

I am more of Technical analysis trader thus I use laptop for my trading because I will be able to zoom in and out all the Japanese candlesticks, its apparently very easy for me to analyse the candlestick patterns for trade reversal or continuation due to a larger screen size of the laptop which is rarely possible with a phone due to its small screen size.

That's the benefits of using larger views, as you can trace the patterned to analyze market behaviors, most of the traders who wanted to make
a clear views and cope up with how things will possibly moves used laptops instead of  mobile devices, a lots of times it's really have a much

I do have a lap at home. When i trade being in house, i use the lap machine, but when i am out, i do use mobile device to trade. I have Dell, VPN installed using personal hotspot connected to mobile network. Have Anti-Virus installed. Think of installing an updated version of OS. Try to have a big screen to have a good visual of graphs screened on exchanges you trade in.

Whether Its a laptop, a desktop or a phone it's almost the same thing.
What differentiates them is the ease of operation, for example it's very difficult zooming in and out continuously on a phone, it can be tiring and stressful.
If you're less mobile then a desktop is perfect and will serve you quite well
If you are mobile and always on the go, then a laptop is your best bet and will suit you based on your regular movements

I think you should buy a laptop and use it for trading because you can't sit at home at all times, you have life, you have your jobs and friends and you need to go out to enjoy this world, staying at home with a computer is a very boring thing. You need a laptop to make your life more convenient and comfortable, you can go to any location, play and use it to make money, as long as you don't lose it, you won't be afraid of money loss and security issues, almost all traders are doing that, they often go to a cafe with their laptop and work for trading

I don't think there is any need to make use of any VPN to make trade unless you have something to hide, I just login with my PC to a trusted exchange and begin to make my trade though I made sure I have a very good antivirus installed in my PC so that I won't be hacked and my coin stolen, I think you have to do same when you finally get your system.

You should also make sure that you activate 2FA in the platform you are making use of in trading this is very important than even trading itself.

if you talk about resilience then actually laptops are more than enough to trade, even some people use their smartphones to trade, with sufficient specifications you can trade on any device that you own on condition that there is an internet connection.

2FA is sorta stupid if you get the code from the same smart phone device as you are logging into an exchange to trade with. That is more vulnerable to attackes comparing to using a smartphone for 2FA plus a laptop for the exchange.

I think dell is actually the best but for weight, hp is quite very light in weight, you can also get a tablet like 10 inches for your trading, at least that one is quite portable and has more features than using phone for trading, I am not saying phone is bad for trading but you might not really get something right when you use phone.

trading platforms as of now do have mobile app which makes move convenience when you do plan to trade with mobile even though the space would be limited
unlike on PC but you can still possibly perform.

I use laptop and mobile interchangeably. I don't need a specific ,high end, devices to fulfill my trading habit. As long as I can make buy and sell orders, it will be fine. I don't do complex analysis before jump into the market.

I don't need vpn since trading platform isn't prohibited here in my country. The security stuffs given by windows OS is enough for me, therefore I don't install any other anti-viruses.

For example I would trade or set up an order I would use laptop or PC to have a wider view on chart,
But if I am just looking for some coins and the most dump or pump coins then I would just do it with my CP.

Because my laptop is not portable and its too heavy, i also used my cellphone for my trading because it is more convenient. Though using cellphone is quiet limited but I still used it because its portable and easy to bring anywhere. Laptop is good for reading the chart, and I will go for dell.
Normally dell is quit heavier in weight than other laptops like hp g series etc, though when it comes to durability and how strong a laptop is.

I think dell is actually the best but for weight, hp is quite very light in weight, you can also get a tablet like 10 inches for your trading, at least that one is quite portable and has more features than using phone for trading, I am not saying phone is bad for trading but you might not really get something right when you use phone.
6 inch screen mobile phones is already sufficient for you to use up when you do plan to trade. It just a matter of preference yet most
trading platforms as of now do have mobile app which makes move convenience when you do plan to trade with mobile even though the space would be limited
unlike on PC but you can still possibly perform.

As long it not disturb us or maybe not make us to pick wrong thing when trading, it is ok maybe. But i heard once from my friend, when he want to buy, he wrong click in his phone and then sell coin that he have.

I tend to use computer when I do trading because I can fully see the chart but when I am out in our school I always bring my laptop so even Im not in the house I can still do trading. I do not use any kind of VPN. But, I think if you looking for better laptop for trading I suggest use MAC.
safest crypto trade is possible by using a personal laptop, because it is not touched by everyone so the data will always be safe. Crypto trading really needs maximum security because it deals with a lot of money so it must be careful, not careless.

Any special computer or just any ol' machine will do?! ::) ::) ::) ::)

Do you have a VPN or a personal Hotspot?

What Virus Protection do you use?  How about... Mac Afee?

Mac or a DELL???? 8) 8)

An ordinary laptop can be usefull but you don't need a special one. Even it is possible to make everyting with a tablet or over a smart phone app via android or ios.
Virus protection is fine to protect your information not only for trade purposes so Kaspersky is also fine about that. I am not familiar with Mac so I can not say anything about that.
But I used Dell before as laptop so it is fine also HP or another one can be fine

Yes mostly traders use laptop because  it's detailed when it come monitoring the graph and very secured . But there are some traders also that preferred to trade with  mobile phone because of being handy and they can trade wherever they go and always updated no need to carry a laptop.

I think dell is far superior than mac in any sense of the way, mac is just apple trying to sell some subalright computer with branding for high prices. Mac doesn't have anything better than Dell that would make it so much more expensive. I use an alienware and I am very happy with my laptop honestly and I am hoping to use the same alienware for a long period of time without changing it.

I think it provides me with all I need and it is cheaper than any mac that could be at the same configuration. Having 32 gb ram in a mac is already an extra and it costs almost half of what my alienware costs, and thats only the ram. Laptops however are better for traders than desktops because you can take your laptop wherever you go and not miss out any days between your trading (unless you are a long term investor, in which case even a mobile app would suffice).

The laptop is the best way for trading but people are trading through mobile APPs because most of the people are working on different things. Mobile Apps are the best way from them to trade the coins in the market, but myself i am using both the Laptop and mobile according to work i have.

Depending on the needs, I usually trade with my pc or laptop. I check the coin prices with my smartphone on the go. Laptops are easy to carry and no need to buy special equipment for using it. Just charge it and you are free to trade on financial markets.
It is easier for one to carry especially when you are on the way.  It is very difficult to trade with laptop when you are on transit and it is very difficult to monitor the market if you have not started using smartphone on the go.  I trade with my smartphone and it has been good for me.

You can trade even on a phone if it's not something that needs a lot of work and attention. Most traders aren't day trading but rather swing trading. Day trading takes up a lot of time and can be exhausting. It's better to wait for bigger moves even if you're doing one or two trades a month. The result will be almost the same.

definitely a good trader will need a laptop or a PC for perfect trading because we don't know which is the right time for trading in cryptocurrency so in all time we need to elect especially day traders need to be more attention while carrying the laptop it will be more useful for them to trade easily in anywhere at any time.

As for the brand, I prefer Mac personally. Because the lifespan is longer IMO.

in fact, some exchangers have a mobile version, so it will make it easier for us to trade using a smartphone.

I prefer to use Desktop to trade because it's more stable for me and I can do multitasking for another thing. I've always use Desktop computer online, but if I was visiting someplace, then I will use a laptop.

Besides that, I feel more comfortable when using Desktop because I can see a widescreen double than the laptop screen.

I have a VPN installed on my desktop, and it's premium account ;D

I don't use virus protection because I think it's enough to use Windows Defender for myself because I don't browse to the strange link which I don't know. Mac Afee is good, but I think it needs more RAM to works.

I think you can choose Mac because it's more stable for work, but you need to ask about bigger RAM if necessary.

Check asset prices do not need to log in on the exchange market and only need to use the related application. They use the same update base as CMC. I also use smartphones for trading related to other work activities, but good specifications are also important because trading requires a rather large amount of memory.

You could buy a computer if you need to. I don't always trade with laptop... Most of my trading were comfortably done on my mobile phones and I prefer this alot because of mobility.

Strong laptop is helpful for trading on Decentralized exchanges.  The exchanges usually use up a lot of computer resources.

In my personal opinion, I usually used most of the time my desktop when I'm at home. But if ever I'm outside the home I used laptop because it is portable, and I'm not using any anti-virus or vpn, as long as I know what I'm doing and clicking any phishing site I'm in a safe conditions. But in the end it doesn't matter what brand you are going to use, as long as you careful you are safe for sure.

Yes trading definitely I need some stable PC or laptop for convenient trading and making the changes more properly but what I'm thinking is all have smartphones so it will enough for a beginning people to make it very easy.
Majority of them use a laptop. Apple laptop preferably. This is because that many people have to move from here to there and are not really confined to one spot. The use of a good laptop is wide and large and you should do that. I think mobile phones are more vulnerable and prone to loss or could get hacked easily. But the success in trading does not really depends on what gadget you use but one the way you do things.

We use laptop to trade because it easy to trade and all features of crypto exchanges. Only few people are using mobile phones to trade. But sometimes I use mobile phoned when Im outside when I need to check the price of the coins.

How about just trading with............ Iphone or a smart phone device???  Yes/no??

I logged into Binance with my iPhone and iPad and it just does not fully work no matter what I do.

Guess what? Been using an Android phone only to trade altcoins using Binance and other exchanges. I am also doing margin trading and a swing trader in bitmex using my phone. So far, got no problem at all. We only need a good and fast internet connection. Been doing trading and using a phone for almost two years now.

I must say it is more convenient for me because I do have a full time job and I can check my tradings through my phone whenever I want. Using laptop in my job doesn't fit.

same here im also a mobile user  . sure we experience a problem at first use because most exchanges are too big and not implemented for mobile use but once you already familiarize yourself  . you will soon get used to it    .  you will find it an advantage because you can trade all the time whenever you will go  .

He might still use phone but its better he limits his activities on phone when it comes to trading with it, you know we have lots of trader that are also on the go with stable internet, imagine I am inside a bus and need to trade, it would be difficult to start operating my laptop in a bus for trade that cannot wait to I get to a location where I can open my laptop, take for example too, a site engineer that need to move round and not stable on a spot but with his phones, he can still keep his eyes on the trade, just need to be careful as you said not to enter a wrong trade.

I don't share that way of thinking. I tried to trade on my mobile phone, and while I do have a semi large phone, it's awful to read charts and zoom in on certain smaller time frames. It's not convenient at all.

I tried the Binance app as well, and while it does provide a better overall experience, it just can't function as well as when you trade on a laptop or desktop computer. Things also take longer to load on mobile phones, so another disadvantage.

I doubt serious traders use their mobile phones for trading purposes. The only thing it's good for is people buying in blindly and selling blindly. In other words, buy low sell high type of trading/investing.

When someone doing trading as their profession then they need the right tools to do it,or else it will cause them to be in losses.

In the modern world we can get laptop for very cheap price as well and it is indeed when we want to make money from it.

It good to also trade on the go since great opportunities can arise anytime in the crypto market due to the volatility in price of the market but the best way to make a successful trade on the go is by setting a price alert app which keep you update about any change in price of the market without this trading using the phone is dangerous as jrrsparkles said.

Nah it's the same for me. You can make as much mistakes on a laptop or desktop if you're not careful. The thing is that some big trading sites don't have mobile app and you would have to use a mobile browser. You have to be a little more careful then. If you're going to trade on a mobile device on the go then probably best to find a mobile exchange app like binance.

I hate small screens and low performance. Even reading the news media on a smartphone is boring. I have 2 laptops 17' and I won't go back to a 15' screen.

So, only a laptop and a browser for me

trading using a computer is a good suggestion, but if things don't work like at home, many naughty children use computers to play games and become a burden in doing work, so laptops are still the best alternative for trading work and you have protection using VPN it's good, anti-virus protection on your computer or laptop is better.

Having a laptop can help you to stay online in everywhere as long as there is an internet connection available. Besides that, when you are mobile, you can use your mobile phone to connect to the market, and I am sure that it will give you an easy way to check the market anytime. But if you are not always mobile, then you only need a desktop computer so you can online and check or browse information that you want.

I personally use a laptop because it is convenient for me to take it with me and make my trades when I am on the move.
The best option that I would go for, is based on the number of the screens that I would like to have. Three screens would be a good setup for me that will help me take better decisions, but due to my life pace I don't have the time to spend time on the monitors.

This is the major reason why many people will stick to trading on laptop to a desktop trading because virtually everyone is always on the move except pro traders that strictly make trading their day to day JOB and then laptop will still be considered the best especially for countries with very unstable power supply or expensive power supply, desktop require you to stay connected on the electricity too for long, at least we still have some laptops that would stay up to 8 hours after being charged to cut off the use of power supply that will take part of our profit away.

I'm not a laptop user but a smartphone user. Although I'm also using a personal computer, I'm much comfortable in the convenience that smartphone gives as you don't need to resign in to your account whenever you open your phone. Although we can't deny that in trading it's better to see market charts in a wider screen, a small screen is enough for me since there are apps that allows you to view market charts just like what you can see in a personal computer.

I use an ASUSS i7, it's the best you can really use, if you have the opportunity to buy one of those features it's great, you'll get speed in every way, and by antivirus do not worry, there are many like the NOD32 that really is Very good, and VPN is not so necessary, unless you are in a country where you have bans, Macafee I do not recommend, it is very bad and if it is DELL I think it is much better than a Mac.

Desktop was the most often I used when I do trade in any of the exchange platform site. Then, I only used laptop when I went in the province to do trade some of the altcoins I have in my wallet. And Kaspersky is the tools in which I had used for a years already.

Well i use both laptop and personal computer but i mostly use the first mentioned for simple reason, accessibility and easy to carry even if i need to go outdoors

I only use Hotspot from a pocket wifi since thats more cheaper in my area than Others and hand carry also

Similarly, I use both, laptops and personal computers but I focus primarily on personal computers, almost all of my data is stored on this computer because from the connection to the security of personal computers is very safe while laptops are always accessible with different networks and information, that really makes me quite worried about security. Sometimes if we are unlucky, the laptop can be stolen, the consequences are probably something we can understand.

It depends on where you're more comfortable with. Some traders use a desktop computer but some are smart enough to use a mobile phone. What we really need is a stable internet connection to perform trading. A gadget with good specifications would be better.

I am using now a laptop and an android phone. But it's funny that I feel comfortable with using the android phone when I use binance/other exchange apps. Generally, I use a laptop when I remain in my house. And use the android phone when I go out of the home and in my bed. You can buy a MAC if you don't feel comfortable with your laptop. Thanks

time then pick PC.

Just having my own internet DSL.

Virus protection? Not now McAfee yet ive been using Eset

I have computer and laptop, both running all the time, doing something. For trading I use both of them, depends on which exchange I need to use, on lap top I have some old accounts, on new one new, but pretty much I`m active on both of them.
What I can say that for my trading is that I dont need much, with two computers I make my work much easier for me, but you can do it with one lap top too. Longterm trading allows me to be active when ever I want, not when market dictate, so I don`t need everything open and running for trading, waiting every day for good moment for trading.

Yeah depending on your lifestyle, i mostly use binance's mobile app for my trades since i've been looking for an exchange where i can use an app since i'mostly on the road. I very seldom use my laptop to trade because i've been so used to doing it in the app already lol

Yeah, it really depends on us where we are convenient to use, but for me, I used DELL brand and window 7. I hate to used window 10 too crowded. Anyway OP, using a laptop in trading is really getting the advantage compare when using mobile. It is easy for you to monitor the market price. But in trading, I used both laptop and mobile phone.

There is no difference between what you use - a laptop or a desktop. Just do care about the powerful Antivirus. It should be installed before you start trading. Certainly, it must be updated regularly.

A good and fast laptop computer is good enough for that little trading I do, I also use it to run some smaller altcoins wallets. I only trade a few times a week, unless the market is very bullish.
If you are a serious trader you should make a setup with a fast pc and  2-3 big screens.

That is more compatible to use if you are travelling all the time but PC with the pinning set value notifications is the real and best experience to do your trading. I do have the same options for trading and all the crypto usages with the computer i have.
Setting up splited screen and all does not need at all. Hope you are not having splitted screen as you mentioned. LOL

A laptop will do if you are only trading a few pairs and don't need to concentrate on different things at the same time, but a large monitor would be much better for your eyes. Multiple monitors will help you multi task better and keep an eye on more pairs, indicators.

This is immaterial. Any laptop in good shape will do for trading.

Yes you are right we can use both but I think it is all our own choice, I personally don’t like using PC and I prefer using laptop because it is easy to carry and we can easily trade with it, we will not have to stay bounded at one place but we can take our laptop wherever we want to go, so I found it easy so I use only laptop but many people use PC.

On my current set-up I do have 3 monitors which I can really say that it is a must have thing when you are going full time but if not then 1 monitor would suffice.
It isn't really necessary for you to have lots if you can handle your trades but the comfort do it gives and the access it would really be much better.

Yeah, by buying cheap notebooks, you can save more money which you can use for another thing. The matter so far is as long as we have a good internet connection, we don't browse too many websites to search for information then it is enough with the cheap notebooks. It's all about how we are using the source and not following for the trend because it does not end if you buy a high-end laptop and it's no use for you.

Sometimes I use my Dell laptop which I bought in one and a half year ago, and so far, my laptop works good for me, and I can browse, trading or watching video on youtube.

Through these APPs, it makes easier and convenient for the customer to start trading from anywhere.

I always do trade from my Notebook PC, I think it's more comfortable, although I do not use any VPN to do it, if you use or want to use VPN it has to be a stable and reliable, remember that it is money that you will be operating, you need to have good clear that premise. If you are from a country that has bans in Crypto, I understand that you use it, but otherwise, it is best not to use it, the advantage of having the laptop is that you can go anywhere with the PC without being in one place, It also depends on the style of trading you do, there are many traders who are all day attached to the PC and do not get up, it all depends on what you want to achieve.

Well that works, however for people who are usually on the go, i prefer mobile phones rather than laptops. Or if a trading site or exchange has their own mobile app then better. The smaller and more portable the device is, the better.

I think that was the need of the day. We even have apps for gambling website because it is a need of the mobilized world.
I think that a laptop is the best gadget you can use for trading. It provides extra security and could be easily repaired in case it gets broken if you have a hardware wallet as well.

Whatever you use for trading, you should not forget using your mind as well because that is something that is ultimately going to make you money. By mind, I am here referring all the intelligent parts of trading which usually includes analysis and management techniques and skills.

I'm a trader, and I have been trading for a while now. I use a VPS and currently running on it 24/7. I can do that because I use a cryptocurrency trading bot, Gunbot (https://gunbot.ph). That's where I manage my trades and let the bot trade for me when it is in profit. If I also don't have the time to open the site of my exchange, e.g., Binance. I would just access my GUI of the bot and input manually my trades. Doing that in Gunbot is possible. I think traders would use it as a great trading tool.

It all depends on the need of everyone and the platform you use. If you select  MintMe (https://www.mintme.com) what you need is any device connected to internet and you can use any laptop, desktop, smartphone, tablet (Android or IOS), where it will be fully functional.
I think and believe that the device we used to trade is not what give us success in trading but the knowledge on how to interpret charts, indicators and news that influence the movement of pricing that do make us to succeed in trade! I am using iOS to trade now but last year I was trading through android. Forget about devices and focus on the knowledge and skills and you will become a successful traders.

It’s just about your comfort levels at the end of the day. A lot of people prefer traveling and trading, so this means that they have to keep access with through smartphones or laptop and it always is laptop that’s most comfortable for all. I myself use Laptop only and it also helps me with Crypto Trading (https://cryptolinks.com/crypto-margin-trading) too, which can be done even on weekend, so something that you could really connect yourself with to be able to gain and that with rather comfort.

The security does play a role if you are storing your coins in your PC because you would want to protect your private keys with higher security.

Any PC would do fine. I use an intel i3 laptop with 4 gigs of RAM. I don't use a VPN, I just use a hotspot from my phone and without any antivirus for my own reasons.

I am thinking to buy a new computer. Fun. Wondering what you guys use?

Any special computer or just any ol' machine will do?! ::) ::) ::) ::)

Do you have a VPN or a personal Hotspot?

What Virus Protection do you use?  How about... Mac Afee?

It does really matter for some people because trading with your own Laptop or PC is totally different when you are on a mobile phone unless if you are a kind of person who do always travel then you wont have any choice but to trade up with your phone but its always been preferable to trade on a pc because its less hassle when you put up some indicators or making up some side research and making some plotting which you cant done this things or too hassle when you are on mobile.About anti viruses i dont mind too much though since its always been updated and im not fan on clicking any phishing links.

It amazes me how exchanges manage to make their web and mobile applications so convenient. I rarely resort to entering the exchange from a working computer, as a rule I do it from a tablet or phone, and it is very convenient.

Since most of the time I am traveling I use my laptop it’s just an Acer i5 laptop that bought last year for $600. I use Avast antivirus and Avast VPN. One thing I notice when I started using vpn it slows down my laptop for about 10%, but so far it is doing what it is supposed to do.

You should expect that since they should be really amaze us in order to get the attention of other investors.

Transaction fees and withdrawals are not the only thing we look at a site, we also look at how presentable it is since that makes it more easier or simpler to use.

Yes, I prefer laptop. My country has a crappy internet and also expensive so I can only afford a pocket wifi. A pocket wifi needs to be connected on the pc by a cable while laptops don't. So when the internet  connection is making me laggy, I need to move my pc which is very inconvenient for me when trading but if I am in my laptop, I just need to move the pocket wifi anywhere to get the connection smooth again.

I use 2 laptops to make trades. And my trades focus on one laptop. And the only laptop to monitor the price movements of coins in some major exchanges. So using 2 laptops will make it easier for me to trade.

I often use personal hotspots. And hotspots that have a high speed, although monthly costs are expensive. But the advantage of the exchange will be greater.

On the contrary, I also have a crappy internet here, but a pocket wifi usually suited me best when I do trading. But yes, I prefer my old laptop though, it is still functioning as it was design so I don't want to buy a new one because it is still comfortable to me.

I don't like trading with mobile, although there are a lot of big screen mobile phones, I don't feel relax using it specially if it involves money specially in our daily trading activity.

never heard of pocket wifis before, and googleing it I don't see the diference to a 3G/4G modem. Is there any? At least a 3G/4G modem can connect to a PC. Why would something work on a laptop and not on a PC anyways? Android laptop?

Well, most of the time I used desktop then sometimes laptop when I'm in the field. Then, the protection in which I used was kaspersky to my desktop, laptop and mobile phone. Moreover, in terms of brand name of laptop, for me HP, Dell and Samsung are the best to have it.
