I hope you invested some of those ethers in a hardware wallet. Even a Ledger Nano S so cheap nowadays and it still sure gets the job done. Can you tell what wallet did you use?

This is an unfortunate case where there really isn't anything that anyone can do for you at this point, unless the person that stole the coins are willing to just send them back. When you say that you've taken all safety measures, this is unlikely, because then this would mean that someone was able to access your private key without your help and this would imply a greater vulnerability within the entire network or MEW.

More likely you've accessed your wallet on an infected computer or got phished. If you retrace your steps you might be able to see where you slipped up and allowed an attacker access. Hardware wallets, cold-storage and offline-generated keys would be suggested for long-term storage of coins.

Before anyone could know what likely happened, you'll have to explain in details how your held those Ethers, Wallets used, Mobile or PC ? Did you recently installed any Software (Malware) that you think could have had you compromised ?

He do mentioned about ethereum.org site which most probably he do able to download that wallet but we didnt actually know on what do really happen.
Possible things that he might entered a wrong address cause of clipboard malware which we have known in the past or any sorts of related things that
 do compromise his wallet.

Yeah, you'd think that a person having that much in his wallet would know better in safeguarding his assets. Mew has been compromised in the past already so i wouldn't risk that many coins in an online wallet regardless of how popular it may be.

No one can help you get your ETH back. I recommend you to buy a hardware wallet Ledger or Trezor and your funds will be safe. I also recommend that you keep all passwords on paper, not in a file on your computer.

That's a big loss. You should always be careful when you have that much assets in your wallet. There's lots of phishing sites and virus online. You should also be careful on whom to trust because none others will know how much you're assets are worth but friends and co- workers.

This is the problem with the system. More and more exchange has been vulnerable with hacking activity to which if you are a high volume holder would.be paranoid to check your wallet from.time to time. Even if it is a hardware wallet it could.still.be able to.hack. So, we have to solve this problem first before adaptation of cryptocurrency.

Yeah, that is definitely a long shot. He'll have to monitor the hacker's wallet 24/7 and hopes that particular exchange has an active customer support.

Crypto aint like bank, it is not centralized hence people couldn't really help you on this
UNLESS they hardfork and reverse the chain, but that is pretty unlikely because that's how decentralized work

The transactions are irreversible and its already been transferred to some exchanges. However, it was two days ago and probably it was a converted to other alt coins or got cash out. You should have used cold wallet instead of web wallet and maybe you visited a phishing site that's why your wallet got compromised.

There's nothing you can do about it just move on and learn from your mistakes, i just noticed you type myeterwallet wrong maybe you visit a phishing website then you login with your private key then the hacker stole your ether and sent it to his address. Just be more careful next time and make sure activate all safety measures to prevent this from happening again.

No one can get back your coins back. What wallet you use  and how you access it? Do you know who hacked you? His name, country where lives? You put your private key from ETH wallet in some sites where ask to do so to get some airdrop?  You should try to check who hacked you, even if not was your coins

Make it as lessons and other times be careful, and also do not forget to often clean your computer. Just a suggestion that can be given as support, if you are expecting a donation, that is excessive and a very rare thing. Even in the real world, we don't necessarily get that kind of thing.

It is very sad, but I think that no one will help you. This is the harsh reality, because if you are hacked and robbed, then no one can return you your coins.

I would never subscribe to the use of web or just any software wallet that can lead to easy loss of fund.
Even if you are just coming newly into the crypto space, try as much as possible to purchase a hardware wallet, than take unnecessary risk.

This is dark side of the crypto world. If crypto is stolen, no one will help you. How can you prove that this was your money? Both of you have a private keys.  So imho only help you can get only if you are holding money on exchange with verification. Choose your side)

When ever a transaction has been made and it's success, then there is no one able to take it back, one thing that really possible to get the coins that we had is someone who get that coins, sent the coins back into our wallet, but that is nearly impossible.

Oops that bad. Are you sure you have stolen? Or maybe you send some eth on some exchange or transfer it to another wallet. Also, remember if you participated on some ICO that automatically deduct eth balance on your account if you signed up. But in the case of transaction it was a clean transfer so therefore you're sure to be hacked. Just transfer other funds now so you will feel relieve.

No one can help you, even those who have been hacked millions of dollars cannot do anything so how could you? I happened to experience this and all I could do was accept the fact that it was all gone already and nothing could change that. You must have been phished or something alike. Clicked one of those spam emails and there you go, an empty wallet.

I do think the same that this is one of the unfortunate happenings here in the crypto currency community. Honestly, I don’t think that the money of the OP that have been stolen can ever been bring back to him because as he said, it was stolen and not been accidentally sent to a wrong address. There still a chance if it was sent accidentally because the recipient if he or she have a good heart could have the possibility to send it back but the case is different, it was stolen, so it was something that has been hack or in any ways that they get it from his wallet.

There are certain agencies in almost every country devoted towards solving issues and for solving financial case, we have the FIA that deals with such issues. CIA and FBI might deal with these kinds of issues in the US. Since this is a case of hacking, you can make use of the proof you have and the exchange the transaction was made to and contacting that exchange might possibly lead to a solution. Unfortunately this is the problem in cryptocurrency due to which many people do not invest here.

no one can restore your eth, in this forum even the etherum team can't help you return eth that has been stolen from your wallet, I say this because I have experienced it, it's better to immediately move the token left in the wallet before it is taken by the thief too

Sorry to hear it mate, you lost a big amount, 45 ETH means something, any normal person can go into depression after such a big loss. Personally I do not keep my funds in a single wallet, its good if you use h/w wallet or app wallet and distribute your funds. Do not share any information on internet or do not download files from unknown resources. Hackers cannot attack anyone w/o any channel. Now its not possible to get these funds back, even we cannot trace the hackers as these transactions are done on a decentralize platform. I advise you to plan for future, its not the end of the world, take sometime from your friend to give back this amount. I hope he/she will understand your situation.

Phishing sites can steal your passwords if they can successfully collect your data against you. The phishing mechanism is simple but it works. I never open the wallet sites without checking the certificate.

Looks awful for making a review about your case. Always there is a meaning to double check the certificate system of MEW and other exchange, online wallet services.

I know that feeling mate because last year I was a victim like you! After then I always told people do not use the Myetherwallet alone. Everyone should use a hardware wallet, you had 45 ETH and one hardware wallet price is only 100 USD almost. You should've bought a hardware wallet. I don't know there is any chance to get back your assets! Now, you have to buy a ledger or Trezor wallet firstly! Have patience mate!

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do with it. Transactions in Ethereum blockchain cannot be cancelled once they are confirmed, so the only thing you can do now is to pay more attention to the privacy of your new wallet. Never paste your Private key on websites, use Metamask or hardware wallet.
