I believe everyone know about this sentence, "patience is the main key of success of trading platform". But I am realising that in practical. I have patience but not enough I think. Because you can see the trend of RVN, I was hold it and just sold almost in 20% profit. But I didn't wait even volume was increasing, I just missed my own logic. I had enough patience really. But who know RVN will touch 1400+ satoshi but I sold it 450 satoshi only. That's why I am realising patience is the main key if success on trading platform.

Yep, but you see we don't know when will a certain coin touches it's high and when to sell. Maybe you can have all the patience, but the decision to sell if the most difficult part as well. That's why a entry and exit strategy is put into place. Anyways, you made profits already, not a bad thing.  ;D

I couldn't agree more. You have to have some strategy to follow. And if your strategy parameters tell you to exit, you exit.

Otherwise, you will always have some regrets and missed opportunities will always linger in your mind. As a result, you will always be in a state of emotional turmoil. "Oh, I exited too soon." "Oh, I didn't exit on time." "Damn, I didn't enter where I should have."

That's why it is much better to have a definite strategy that you can quantify somehow. Either by using indicators, or in some other way. And follow it blindly. If you do, you can eliminate regrets entirely and be without emotional imbalances.

You dont really have the mistake yet you are still in profits no matter what.The feeling of regret do really able to be felt when you see the price had rose up even

No one knows about that, and I think many people cannot believe too. If you don't sell it all amount in that price and split for 3 prices to sell, I think you can get a bigger profit than now. But it's no problem for you because you already get 20% profit and it's your profit. I am sure you can make another profit from the other coins. But in this lesson, you still need to learn about patience as you said. But you can be able to handle your greedy and take that 20 % of profit.

Sometimes for me the profit I got already satisfies me even though the altcoin I am holding have the chance of going up and it is a missed opportunity for me. One thing that helps me though is I always set up a target selling price (as well as a cut loss price), that when I reached the target price I immediately sell any price movement that happens afterwards won't affect me as I achieved the ideal profit I want. Also keep in mind that sometimes patience can kill a trade, not being satisfied for the paper gain you have can sometimes hurt you especially if the price action was just a temporary pump and all your gains will turn into losses.

Patience has its limits, especially when it comes to trading. I rather follow the market and close positions with a small loss than to patiently keep waiting for something that might not even happen anymore.

I used to wait for improvement before, but stopped doing so because it's horrible. The most important thing is to not go against the market, regardless of how much you have at stake.

I did it once with AION I think. Sold mine for like 300 dollars at a price of $3 for 100 pieces.
Now it went down so suddenly. I am at panic at those times but I really want to hold those tokens since they have a great project.
But due to my lack of budget for my necessities I need to sell them.

Now I dont feel any regret but would want to buy them again.

Timing is the main key of success. If it was about patience alone, then you would likely hold out the peak and become a bagholder if it drops waiting to sell at any price. Understand the market and act when the time is right. Have a strategy. Do not bear the regret of selling to early or too late.

Look at my cases :
1. I bought waves around 35k to 40k satoshi and it went up to 110k satoshi but I did not sell and waited for bigger targets but right now it is trading around 68k satoshi.

2. I got docademic from bounties and it went up to 6k satoshi (on listing it was trading around 200 satoshi). I booked 25% at 250 satoshi and another 25% around 5k satoshi and still holding the remaining 50% but it is trading right now around 300 satoshi.

Being patience alone cannot be key for success in trading all the times. Still, cryptos are at its early days hence it will keep growing bigger in coming years and if you want massive returns for your investments then you must need to be more patience to harvest bigger.

You must know when to exit. You must know how much profit you want to make before exiting.
Sometimes you may become over patient and in the end the price corrects and you see at a much lower price than even 400 sats

What do you mean by exiting? I've never think why we should have a plan to exit especially when everything were fine and we are profiting. Quitting is just only be happen if we are not comfortable with crypto, but as long as it works well then there is no reason to think of leaving.
Patience will help us to succeed but it came into the point that it will have its limitation especially when we know that certain coins ins't moving at all and not worthy to hold any longer.

I think trading it's more of being patient and risk taker. You sold at a price where you are in profit, then I can say you are patient enough. If you extended your patience longer then you are risking more.

No one knows what will happens next in the price, it might dump or pump suddenly. The price pumps, you sold and now you are somehow regreting, but if it dumps and you didn't sell,  you might think that you are being greedy. Just be satisfied, you're not at loss :)

Everything in life requires patience because if you don't have it you will rush the things that are not meant for you. It means if you rush things just because you have to get that you may end up losing it and worse your losses may double. Definitely because being have more patience is good strategy actually .and it can help us to minimize everything especially here in trading which is very difficult and there's always a challenge that sometimes will test our emotions in order to produce a panic sell. Patience is very important element, but there are other element that we need to consider like the potential of rising for long term and how bad is the market situation, I think we need to be flexible about investing in crypto, when something looks not too good sometimes its better to cutloss rather than wait

Yes patience is not all to successful trading because at some point, you have to sell. Like in your own case too, knowledge of when to sell would have seen you in profit and happy with yourself. So knowledge and timing too is key to success.

While making decisions about our lives, having some moments and determining our financial future, it is important to be patient. But the fact is that patience is not an important factor in the financial market. It is also important to proceed with the right strategy, not to make mistakes and to control yourself in case of panic. The actions should not be rushed, but the targeted levels should be waited with patience, but this should be followed with the right strategy. If you had done your sales process not one at a time, you would have won more and won't be so sad. Wealth move from impatience to patience traders in a long run.  I think if we can develop patience mind and keep holding the market will be as bad as it is now.  The whales takes the advantage of our impatient to influence the market and make huge profits.

It could've gone either way as well you know. What if the priced didn't gi up and dumped before you werr able to sell? Getting out with 20% profit is already a sign of being patient. There's a difference between that and being greedy. Sometimes, patience is having the self cobtrol of not letting greed take hold. You didn't know what was going to happen but you got out with profit and that's as good as anybody in trading can have.

You make it sound a bit more like gambling. I think that there is difference in both. Trading eventually depends on how much do you understand about the market and about the phases of investment and withdrawal. Patience is also something that helps you stay calm and make the best decision.

Try to keep your initial cost low and initial volume of coins high which means that be active in bear market. Technical analysis can help you as well.

You are much right, knowledge and timing is the key, especially timing when it comes to trading, just like the illustration he used, I even got my own docademics for free then from the bounty campaign and my instinct told me to sell it off because the rate at which it was growing was high and correction will need to be made.

I had the knowledge of all these yet, I still didn’t follow my instinct, I didn’t even follow chart to see when the coin was on dumping, left it and hoping by the time I come back to it in some months time, I would have been swimming in dollars, reverse was the case, it ended up so low that I had to even lose about 40% of it to exchange as withdrawal fee when I tired transferring it to my ether wallet. If I had sold it then, would have made my gain and also buy virtually 10X of my initial holding.

I think we have all been there, where you think you should've sold a lot of your shares or something like that towards the profit side and missing it out, you wait. Even though you expect, it's uncertain that it would come back right to the point where you want it to. I just imagined how many times I failed to realize the profit I should've and possibly made more if you made the trade. I think if you are going to trade, you need to be emotionless towards all the times you feel biased. You don't need to be part of that and bots like Gunbot, help me decide on that.

Patience will give better rate if you are holding a good coin.

RVN is good and doing well so far, but you also need to ensure that you have a target so you can sell it at the right timing, being greedy is bad, you might regret it if you fail.

Every project has a chance to grow in any market situation if the people will see it's worth to invest, but if you are looking for bigger price for better profit, you should hold longer and it does mean you are only seeing one price movement, there are times that it will dump and might affect your spirit of holding, so it's up to you to decide, whether you take profit early, or wait and hold until you get a bigger profit.

I'd agree to some extent, but "Patience" is plays a huge factor. But, I disagree on timing, How one could initiate a perfect timing when the industry itself is volatile? Though, Knowledge is a factor. Nevertheless, I consider first hand facts and research as key to success in this field. And TBH,  Patience is applicable to everything not only in this field. It can only be the key if you are a long term holder of altcoins or bitcoin and make sure that the coin you are going to hold is really has the capacity to increase in the future like for example Ethereum and Neo and mostly Bitcoin of course.

You did not make the wrong decision. Because it was unknown that the price would increase that much, and 20% earnings could have turned into a loss even if you had expected more.

I think they believe the RVN because still they don't sell this token. Few of the times our expectation comes true so it is our own risk because if we need more profit we must take risk in this investment. But 20% earnings are also enough for me but others choice are depends on our own stability.

I too and often experience the same thing as you, where I am always sorry after the rush to sell for fear of losing. But now I keep trying to learn from my mistakes and hopefully I can succeed in starting now and can control my panic.

He is correct. The reason why 99% of the retail traders have trouble making any money in the markets whether its Crypto or Stock or Metals or Oils is because they are impatient and they don't want to wait.

Basically I was like this also. I bought one stock, it didn't go up the next day so I sold it and bought another. That stock didn't move either, so I sold it and bought another. Eventually I was losing money due to commissions and spread even though the stock hasn't moved at all. Then looking in hindsight if I only held the stock a couple weeks, I would of made some money.

This is also largely that most retail traders only have a few hundred or thousands of dollars in the markets. So if you are trading stock, you can't buy any more than 1 or 2 stocks at a time, even on margin. So you are sitting around waiting and its easy to get impatient. So this is why having more capital sometimes help in trading.

Patience is just part of how to be a good trader. You also need a lot of knowledge in trading to be successful. You need to anticipate the market condition after placing a Sell or Buy order, patience alone can't help you with that, you need to learn how to use tools and read graphs to better anticipate what will happen next when hitting that Buy or Sell button.

The problem is we dont know how high the price will to go when uptrend. But the solution we can use trailling stop and for take profit is open so when the coin keep pumping we can maximize the profit.

Right, those are very important as well. We don't know when is the right time to sell because the price is very volatile. But as others have pointed out, disciple + having a good exit plan = success in the long run.

Patience- many people don't have this type of feeling towards the market when they enter, some people might think we need to be very patient until the market starts recovering but when it comes to reality it is impossible to control our feeling. Every one of us will experience this type of feeling, but people who are waiting patiently will always make more money.

If all of us have patience to wait until the cryptocurrencies market started to recover there will be no profit to be make! I can relate to your submission.
Some of us have patience but most at times the human side of us tend to take over and then we loose focus . I held a particular coin for 4months , the price didn't even move an inche.
I had an emergency for cash, so I sold my coin.
Could you believe that the coin price did *2 5 days after I sold.
This market is highly unpredictable, that at times I do wish I can see the future.

As usual im patiently waiting for a big dump again for those coins have been decrease and increase again for the best and better to wait and hold until it goes pump.

At least you are safe on that trade. You did not cut loss or lose a lot of money. But, that is a common mistakes in trading. Little did I know, I joined a bounty last last year and it is called ADEX bounty. That's the first ever crypto money I earned and I sold my ADEX at 9k satoshis. But, eventually after 2 days it got up to 54k satoshis. That's sad for me, sadder than your Raven coin.

Well, you do not have an option if you do not have the incentive to trade but hodl and hold with patience. Holding patiently is the big key for unlocking wealth in crypto space. Lol, I feel your pain bro and I understand that many of us can find ourselves in your exact situation most times because of the unpredictable nature of the market but based on my experience in crypto and how so many coins has thought me so much lessons.

What I usually do in your case is never to sell of all my coins completely no matter how hard I think the project is good or not, at least I always leave 30% of the coin on hold till faith and future decides what happens to that one, with this you won’t end up regretting or losing out completely. We just need to take things slow in making the right decisions that will affect our future positively.

I always run out of patience when I see no prices don't change after a day. I sold most of the tokens I hold and the saddest part is that the after I just dumped all of it, the price suddenly go up which I can almost think the community is just waiting for my dumps.

It is impossible for a first time trader not to trade with emotion, absolutely impossible, like you said, many people see these things in theory and they try to pretend it when practical comes, but instead of pretending it, it is better to lose it out and have a feeling of its repercussion and then, we can learnt from it for better improvement. Holding strategy is not a bad idea if you make sure you buy at dip, that is why this patience of a thing we are talking about is not only applicable to our decision in holding, but out decision to buy too, my friend that bought at that high price, having understood how the market operates should have been patient enough to wait for the market to bottom before buying, he bought when the market was still at peak and so he finds it difficult now to wait for it to rise again.

Before when I started trading, I did not have patience, because I wanted my operations not to last more than 5minutes, I wanted to win already, at first I was lucky, then I began to lose quickly, that forced me to read many books, which, They taught that patience will always be the key in speculative markets, because time and money is what Market Makers have.

Even now this phase of the market is when more patience must be had since it is not known when the bullish trend phase will begin in general. Holding is not bad if your aim is for long time like 3/4 years. But I will not encourage for that although you have enough patience especially for Altcoins. If you hold any altcoin then it will pump somehow like after 3/4 month. That time you should sell (depend on btc trend) and buy back on dip. Why should you wait long time if you already have handsome profits? Who know tomorrow it will not dump? If you hold bitcoin for long term then its different case. Patience is a simple word but it is very hard to master. Once you have patience in your mindset then everything will become easy for you to get done and reach.

I have missed opportunities of selling early certain coins I bought at ICO in 2017 only for the coins to dump and I have been bag-holding them since then. So, it's a two sides of a coin thing. It doesn't mean patience will get one profit. Sometimes, one loses for being patient too.

That's really true patience is the key in crypto but you need  too hold your emotions in comes to trading because it's not easy to determine when the market will  have a good volume. Maybe you need to check always the market so your not late for the good profit will come to you.

To be honest, I have been a silent speculator in the bear market. The down price you know is instrumental in helping you make some handsome profits when the market rises. Panic selling is something that makes you loose value and there is no point in regretting over split milk. Hype might excite you as it excites me but you got to be a realist and this is healthy for business. Patience is good but only when you have invested for long term not for the short term.

Missing out some opportunities may be a negative consequences of being speculator but it helps me a lot in avoiding catching few falling knife, for example, ripple.
