It will turn useless if there's no more miners. But do you think that time will come if miners stop mining it? I'm not even thinking about this given that the total mined coins are about 17.6M and that's near to the total max supply of 21M.

I can say for now that bitcoin is here to stay and we're far from seeing that point.

Bitcoin could never be useless unless there is no more people using it,
And I think it wouldn't happen because even if some alt-coin take's Bitcoins place there would still be a Bitcoin supporters that would continue to use it.

Useless ? What if it's the starting of something big , you know the Bitcoins is improving day by day and the core developers are into programming it in a way that they integrated it with our society now , I don't think it's going to because useless because the era of cryptocurrency just began in 2009 and it still has a lot of scope to grow .

The limitations of paper money is not something that can be entirely wiped out using some other source I think Fiat + cryptocurrency is what the world needs.

Also it's not useless if there are no miners . There still are traders , investors and developers and remember that since new generation is much more elastic it will for sure ensure it's increased life expectancy.

Fiat and Bitcoins ;
Both have many advantages and disadvantages but if they work together it's bound to produce new and more stable economy in the future.

Dead are the things which are useless and not up-to-date not something that still have a lot of scope.

But one day something new will replace bitcoin.

Not necessarily, the fact that you think so does not mean it us bound to happen, Bitcoin has existed for a decade and it that time it has only grown. Technology always improves, and new prototypes would always be introduced, but the existing technology can also keep improving to stay ahead of the competition

If something ever replaces Bitcoin, crypto as a whole is fucked. Whatever that replaces Bitcoin will be replaced too at some point and this will continue until crypto has become completely redundant as a whole.

Good thing for Bitcoin is that more and more people start to see it as a digital form of Gold, and the best thing is that more and more people actually buy Bitcoin because of that instead of it being a quick flip investment.

I am not a huge fan of Gold, have also been trashing it when it comes to its usability as money, but there is no comparison in its own field. Gold is absolute in every possible way as precious metal, and that for thousands of years now. I can respect that.

Bitcoins journey is unpredictable when it will end,but it will surely end when miners finally quit mining and because miners are the foundation of bitcoin transaction on day by day bitcoin usage will not be available so its a death and end for bitcoin

I really love Bitcoin and the brains behind the whole idea of peer to peer transaction but as an open-minded person "Nothing lasts forever"
Just like any other innovation in the past, it could either be modified to fit its use in the future or It could totally be replaced with something people will think is better.

I think the question is difficult
Because we do not have the proper mechanism to calculate it
This is if the premise of the demise of BTC is basically correct.

But one day something new will replace bitcoin.

Bitcoin is not a fixed product. It is a protocol. This protocol can be adapted and developed at any time. If it stays dynamic, then there is no reason Bitcoin will eventually be replaced by something else. It's the same with Blockchain technology. Since 2008, it has been steadily developed and there are now offshoots go new ways. Like an evolution.

If Nakamoto did not make the protocol of bitcoin open source maybe bitcoin now is nothing, because of that anyone of us can develop bitcoin through the code of protocol on Github which is accessible to everyone who wanted to develop. I guess no one got replace on Bitcoin, still, it is the king of all cryptocurrency.

It will become useless when the price goes to '0'.

But do you guys think it's possible? Even if the last bitcoin is mine, people will still continue to hold and trade it. Well, we don't know what the price could be but it definitely will not be '0'.  ;D

This is an interesting question but unfortunately no one can give you right answer for this.

If i ask you how many years, fiat will remain in use, no one has the answer for it. It is basically the demand of bitcoin which will determine the future of bitcoins.

I don't want to think for this one because I still have goals to achieve and I want to be happy everyday. I just want bitcoin to stay for good, its really hard to accept this one. But if this things happen, I just hope that all my goals in life are already done because I can't see any ways to earn more money that same with this market.

If we look at the way how technology updates, it will only have a very short life span. But since because bitcoin is a currency, I do not think it will come to that. It will not be totally useless. Just like how fiat is becoming outdated because of online payments and the use of cards. There is a better way to make payments but we still use fiat anyways.

Even if you look at it purely from a technological perspective, it's bound to survive for a while. It's in constant development and there are a lot of things planned in the future. Barring a massive breakthrough in blockchain technology, I don't see anything rendering it obsolete within our lifetimes.

Bitcoin will totally be useless if there is no people who will mine or even try to use it for trading etc. However i don't think that it will happen soon because we are way far from mining the total 21m bitcoin and also bitcoin is gaining more popularity from all over the world and will be used for a very longtime.

At least our next two generations will not see bitcoin's doomsday for sure. It is incorrect to look at bitcoin as a profit making asset only, because it is not! The way we all are moving towards a cashless economy, cryptos like bitcoi will have a lot more to deliver! Give it a breathing time mate! It is just 10 years old we are already seeing a lot of developments happening. So its certainly not a correct time to talk about its end.

Also talking about the replacement, we already have a lot of advanced cryptocurrencies available for many different usage. But did they replace bitcoin? Certainly No!

As long as there are people who are interested in adopting and using Bitcoin, then during that time the Bitcoin will stay alive and will not die. Bitcoin will never be replaced with another as long as it remains dynamic. In my opinion, currently Bitcoin is still the development stage, not the end of growth. Bitcoin is still the parent of all existing Altcoin.

I will agree that there may be another alternative or substitute to bitcoin but that does not mean that it will later turn useless.
Gold had been existing for ages as an asset while investors do trade it till this days and other store it as a physical asset while bitcoin will remain as a digital currency and store of value for its enthusiast irrespective of whether there is another better alternative to it thus predicting its live span for its to become irrelevant is to me baseless and will not stand test of time.

People still buy vintage cars, even though newer cars are more technological advanced.  ;)  Bitcoin will always be the first Crypto currency and it will always be desirable as a collectors item in the future, because it has a nostalgic value for this generation.

So, Bitcoin will never be useless and it will always have value to someone, even if it is only sentimental value. Let's just be positive and appreciate the fact that Bitcoin will be the most desirable vintage coin in the future.  ;)

It will continue to grow in coming years and not otherwise which only a few certain people believe that the end would come soon, or might reach to 100$ etc. Also the growth would be tremendous in coming time and if some country make it legal in the mean time it would spike in the prices like anything.

Well it's hard to tell. As long as there are people who uses bitcoin and can benefit from it, bitcoin will continue. Bitcoin is a great advencement of technology so expect that it will still continue to grow and people will find it very useful for a long time. Maybe when it reaches its limit for adoption and when people already find it useless. But telling an exact number of years is kinda hard since it'll take so much time, I guess.

Nice optimistic view. In my own point of view, bitcoin will never die. What will be left for those exchange that trusted bitcoin? What will be left for those investors that sacrificed a lot of their money for investing in bitcoin? There are so many reasons why bitcoin will never die. And the main reason is, a lot of users are being added in bitcoin every year. So it means that this currency is being backed by many backers.

I personally never thought about that, because today's bitcoin fans continue to grow and are difficult to replace. I am sure Bitcoin is always beneficial to the whole world at any time. in fact many businesses have grown and individual Bitcoin users. Including real businesses in the real world such as restaurants, apartments, law firms, and well-known online services such as Namecheap and Reddit. Although Bitcoin is considered a new phenomenon, Bitcoin has grown quite rapidly.

I think it will become useless when nobody will no longer use it and not because people will just dislike it. It would take some time before any newer technology may surpass the current ones we have now so I believe it would be long enough, but if within 30 to 50 years computers will be made even faster the possibility of changing how cryptocurrency encryption is made may force a total system change. Thus may probably end what technology has existed now.

I think it's too early to say what you think. no one can measure and predict for sure, or maybe bitcoin can actually be adopted globally by all countries as the official currency. this can be considered on the other side.
so I guess what will happen later we can't all know, but the benefits of bitcoin will be very useful in every trade transaction or online or real-life shop

Gosh, that sounds a lot like greed to me...

You want to fullfil your dreams by investing in Bitcoin and hoping for massive returns...

Without greed, you wouldn't care so much about money.
But you want nice things...
You want to live "better" than others.

Don't be ashamed of your own greed - own it.

Fiat-Paper money and modern banking services exist for around several hundred years.Bitcoin could easily reach 200-300 years,if there's no global disaster or a global crypto mining ban.
If a better cryptocurrency replace bitcoin, this won't be the end of btc.It will continue to exist as the second best cryptocurrency.

Bound to survive isn't a proper word IMO, Bitcoin nature is open source, and that is mean the underlying technologies aspect is built to openly and widely developed by anyone. Also, the technologies of Bitcoin is able to withstand any change in the code with the soft-fork and hard-fork features. It is our job as a user to continuously develop BItcoin, so it stays alive.

~
Exactly! Also, there are some famous quotations like, "Bitcoin can't go to zero because, if somehow it reaches 1$ I'll passionately buying it."

For someone bitcoin is already useless. For example, those people who live in Bangladesh, I guess we all heard how rough they are to crypto users, so there are not so much people who wish to take a risk and use it, that's why we may say that for people in Bangladesh bitcoin is already useless.
Well, in the case of remining people - I really can not say when bitcoin will be out of use. It will transform in something new probably, and continue to be used for something :)

As long as the best features actually make it to Bitcoin and people find it useful, I don't see how there will be anything replacing it. Bitcoin has grown significantly with SegWit and LN operating as second layer.

I think it's safe to say that the most exciting upgrade will be Schnorr signatures, which actually helps Bitcoin scale on-chain, which means transactions take less block space and thus are cheaper by nature.

I hope Schnorr will make it to Bitcoin this year, because with the block halving coming closer and closer, the network activity will increase as well, which forms a perfect first test for Schnorr to show its usefulness.

Would not it be a bit awkward to talk about Bitcoin totally getting useless when we are not yet even halfway to our goal? I do not understand why such a question suddenly popping up in someone's head. Instead of devoting time to such imagination, why don't we try to imagine other possible ways for us to help promote Bitcoin? We still have a lot of time with Bitcoin. There is no point looking for a replacement as of now. It might take a thousand years before Bitcoin will leave this world.

The only reason I can think of for miners not mining bitcoin is if something unexpected happens out of the box and all the miners suddenly stops mining bitcoin.
This is highly unlikely to happen since bitcoin holds 50% dominance and most of the crypto enthusiasts support bitcoin. Even after the 21 million supply limit of bitcoin is reached, the miners will still be validating the transactions as the mining fees will then be treated as a reward for the miners. I definitely don't think that miners not mining bitcoin will make it useless.

I see it is totally impossible for bitcoin to become valueless in the next century. Humans are always greedy and if someone stops mining bitcoin, the other human will continue to mine thinking he will benefit more from the miner's rewards. And we all know that bitcoin is a blockchain TECHNOLOGY and when we say TECHNOLOGY, it can be upgraded. So even if in the future we will no longer use digital coins, I believe developers will find a way to transfer the data to the new technology. I don't think developers will leave bitcoin to die. Someone will always stand up and take action.

Day by day the advancement is happening through every sector. Cryptocurrency too isn't an exception, and from my understanding it won't go useless, because when it came to existence there isn't any big usage of bitcoin. Slowly it got its usage and when days pass it'll get used as if we use fiat. Moreover it's value keeps growing as it is limited and more people have begun to adopt as well invest on the same.

evolution

bitcoin is also evolving, it will not die, on the contrary it will evolve and every time it evolves, it will become better and more people will use bitcoin. Bitcoin has an anonymous creator and this makes a lot of difference in relation to the other altcoins. bitcoin is decentralized and struggle to continue decentralized and this makes a lot of difference in relation to other altcoins. Hello!
We, all crypto users are wish a long life to bitcoin to it continue to bring us some extra profit on different ways. But one day something new will replace bitcoin. My question is - how many year you give to bitcoin before it will turn totally useless?
For me I think I would still see it and use it till we all grow up and I think even our son or grandson would use it.
So for me it would take some generation before Bitcoin dies ,It could be replace but we don't know when and what would replace it,
But even if it get's replace by some alt-coin it would go down in history for sure so it wouldn't be out of the crypto market.

I think that you have the wrong theory. Everything has the begininig and the end but I don't think that Bitcoin will become worthless and get replaced with something else. At least not in the near future.
So far many coins have tried to take its place and every time when the price goes down some are saying Bitcoin is going to die. None of these has happened so far and it's not very likely that it will without something completely new and revolutionary appearing at the market. At the moment I don't see anything like this on the horizon.

I'm not yet seeing any coin that could replace bitcoin but maybe you are right and you could also be wrong. Until now bitcoin is still the king of cryptocurrencies and nobody wishes that it would be useless. Though it is true that other cryptocurrencies will come and yes too many do come but still nothing has much impact to beat the popularity and value of bitcoin.

My question is - how many year you give to bitcoin before it will turn totally useless?
It will turn useless if there's no more miners. But do you think that time will come if miners stop mining it? I'm not even thinking about this given that the total mined coins are about 17.6M and that's near to the total max supply of 21M.

I can say for now that bitcoin is here to stay and we're far from seeing that point.
How exactly do you think bitcoin will turn useless if there are no more miners mining the bitcoin?
The only reason I can think of for miners not mining bitcoin is if something unexpected happens out of the box and all the miners suddenly stops mining bitcoin.
This is highly unlikely to happen since bitcoin holds 50% dominance and most of the crypto enthusiasts support bitcoin. Even after the 21 million supply limit of bitcoin is reached, the miners will still be validating the transactions as the mining fees will then be treated as a reward for the miners. I definitely don't think that miners not mining bitcoin will make it useless.
I know that this is highly unlikely to happen but OP is looking for an "IF" and that's what I think that can make bitcoin turn into something that won't have any worth and use at all.

I think you haven't understood the point that if there will be no more miners. Yes, miner plays an important role for bitcoin and it's ecosystem. And even it reaches the total supply, they will keep on mining to confirm transactions and the point is what if they are gone? and that's what OP is asking about. But I'm aware that it won't happen.  :)

Very nice question, well for me BTC will never be useless, if it will become one, it should make altcoins useless as well.
BTC was fist introduce in the market and it's the first one to be popular, at this point of time, it's hard to say that it will be useless if it's holding a high dominant rate. Do you think the coin that dominated the market now will be useless in the future? I don't think so really.

I think bitcoin and blockchain technology which other coins are built are very unique and we are still at the early stages of it developments and because of this we should understand that it might never die and it will be with us till the end of the ages. In reality the discovery of blockchain technology was a solution to long time research of making transactions especially the financial one Anonymous  and kick third party out of transactions and I believe that is what many of us wants.

I think about another 50-100 years until Bitcoin ends. Currently Bitcoin and Crypto are threatening other economies when attracting a lot of investment from investors at present. I can believe that Bitcoin and Crypto will end when there is a better option to replace them in the future.

I believe all this new world for cryptocurrencies will end around the next decade if something blocks it or people will be willing to inovate it.
Just like money (fiat) most of the new technologies and currencies we are seeing evolve with time. And time is what government needs to control such transactions.

The more we support it the more government will accept to use it as their own markets.

This only will happen if something new and more secure than blockchain then bitcoin will be die or not popular anymore. Bitcoin has being used because of the blockchain technology provide a secure fast and anynomous. No middle man are being used to execute the transaction so if only another technology that way more efficient than blockchain then i could say the era of blockchain will be replaced.

I really don't wish that Bitcoin will end and be useless.
Well, if I can say, it may be more than 50 years later.
Bitcoin is one of the products of high technologies of the blockchain. This has made many changes in the thought of investment, mining, and also trading.
This coin is also used for some transaction. It is more valuable as we think about it.
Someday, there may be some other coins that will always compete, but as long as many people who believe and use BTC, it will always ben winner.

It can not become worthless unless nobody is making use of it so it value is zero.
With the amount in circulation with the number of users it will not drop of the end of the world any time soon.

Indeed, it cannot be denied that technology continues to grow, for example in 2004, when the Nokia cellphone brand was the most popular brand, then it was replaced with Android which is now in demand by many people. Of course this will also happen to bitcoin someday.

But I can't be sure, when this bitcoin will end

In my opinion. bitcoin will last for a very long time, it can happen because the most dominant crypto currency in the world is bitcoin. currently there are a lot of crypto currencies, but bitcoin remains a digital currency that dominates the market and bitcoin is very sought after by all crypto users. and bitcoin can last more than 10 years. if bitcoin collapses it will affect the altcoin.

You are right in that bitcoin cannot be replaced periodically by "the next big thing" because it would be pointless to call it a store of value. But that's the thing, in order for hodlers to bother with moving their funds into some new exotic "better than bitcoin" promise it would need to be something mindblowing that destroys bitcoin unarguably on every angle. This is delusional sci-fi right now. Noobs think tweaking some values does just that but that's not how things work.

It's hard to say how long Bitcoin will be useful. Probably many years. Bitcoin is still a "child" who, through promotion, will grow and become "adult". Bitcoin benefits from a decentralized network, so no government force can destroy it. Bitcoin will not die, eventually will drop the price a bit. The crypto market is the future, and it is led in the top of the crypto coins by Bitcon. Bitcoin, I think it will be the currency of the future and probably in some countries, will replace FIAT coins.

It will never end, maybe it will just an alternative of something soon. How long? for me, it will take a century to create another level of blockchain or bitcoin.
It will just happen maybe on what happened on fiat currency? Like, an alternative of fiat is cryptocurrency, like Bitcoins. It takes so long, so many people created a virtual currency but ended up nothing. Since Bitcoin has the blockchain technology, it will last.

This is just a baseless prediction but i'd guess it'd take about 50-60 years before it becomes useless. For comparison, the internet was created several decades ago but its full potential is only being used now. What more in bitcoin which is still in evolution phase?

Whatever may happen though, blockchain will definitely be used in the future even if bitcoin perishes unexpectedly.

Not possible as it have that capabilities and it turn out that mostly all of us today are now engaging into computers which means that it probably be adopting into this new system. It is very adoptable into us since it somewhat be very applicable into the current era but of course it takes years before its stabilize. Of that long years of bitcoin existence, I may think that we are not alive that time especially if we are having an age of 30 plus right now.

it's impossible to guess when bitcoin can become useless and worthless. Bitcoin is not a mobile phone or computer you purchased. So it's not a hard ware. You can think of it as a program. For example, the solidworks program is constantly updated and new versions are created. People need a solidworks program to make drawings and this is not the need to disappear. If the new versions of this program are not appreciated and the interest in this program is reduced, there may be less use, but it is unreasonable to say that the program will be stopped selling completely.

It will never turn completely useless unless a huge flaw is found  which can not be fixed and has completely broken down the network. I would be lying or in a state of denial if i say that bitcoin can never be replaced. It is true that it can not be replaced instantly or within a short time, but yeah it will get eventually replaced as time goes by. It is the nature of technology to get replaced by another better technology. We don't know when it will happen. Might probably take few more generations.

And for those group of people who said that there's and end of all ends on bitcoin, well I do believe they ended their commitment with bitcoin. Most of them said bad thoughts that btc will end, but in reality it remained stronger in time. More transactions were starting to come from different developing countries. Positive feedbacks now taking their position to gather more people's trust as part of bitcoin's recovery period, specially on social media and other sectors of online stream media.

Bro, not that nobody knows. We all know that this coin has come to stay. You shouldn't be comparing Bitcoin with seashells used then, everyday, technology grows and bitcoin is part of that technology, so its a huge different between the shell then.
And we won't be going into any cashless society, it's not even possible. I believe bitcoin and fait will one say work together to form a better society.
In my case it's more sis, than bro. I'm female  ::)
Noone argue that bitcoin came here for long period of time. But you must to agree that today we almost do not use physical money. Cards, Apple pay and many other apps which allow us to not open our wallet's. That's what I meant by saying "cashless" and it's happening with us already today!

I also have no doubt that it will have a very great future. But the best part from my point of view is that the Blockchain technology will bring a lot of useful things to the society as a whole.

bitcoin is not stagnant, there are many people who contribute to make it better, and by that I mean that every year it will become better and people will have more motivation to use bitcoin. it will be very difficult for an altcoin can get the whole bitcoin community to its side. that's because creator of bitcoin is anonymous and passes a sense of confidence. People do not get worried about things like: "What if tomorrow the creator of the coin comes on twitter and says something that makes the coin fall a lot? " With bitcoin people do not need to have this concern

So for me it would take some generation before Bitcoin dies

Bitcoin dies? this will not happen

I'm not yet seeing any coin that could replace bitcoin...

also do not see, more shitcoins appear every day

Do you even know what you're asking about? ??? There is no one here that knows exactly what is going to happen in Bitcoin in the future but it does not show any signs of weakness for now even if the price is lower than the all-time high that it reached last 2017. Bitcoin will never be useless even in your wildest imaginations. :D

Even if all the Bitcoin is mined completely there will still be miners and they will depend on the transaction fees created on a daily basis which means the reward for them might probably be lower than the usual but if this scenario happens there is a huge possibility that the price of Bitcoin will continue to increase because of the demand in the future. 8)

It will be very hard bitcoin to become useless. Especially that bitcoin has already been used for payments. And you asked if how many years will it become useless? No definite years because I cannot see that it will come to an end. Rather, I can see future using blockchain technology with most of the merchandise.
What people don't understand is that even if the price will be back to it's original price, Bitcoin will still remain useful
as long as there are miners who will cater the transaction. Everyone should understand the basic, like it's process to determine if it's useful or useless.

Bitcoin in my year, according to me, nothing has changed except the price, but that's still the beginning of the struggle for bitcoin

It is volatility and the fear among people which has lead to the downfall in the pricr of btc. Else things remaining same and more volume in coming time will grow and as a result price will continue to rise. We can already see that btc has now jumped till 4100$ already.

For bitcoin to come to an end, means there's no miners, no investors and no users believing in it.

If this happened the price will drastically drop until it losses its value.

Yes it might replace by other coin as a better one and be on top but it doesnt mean bitcoin will be an obsolete.

It will stay as long as we are here who believe and continuously supporting it.

Replacing bitcoin is far from reality and i think it will grow more than we could ever imagine,no one believe that bitcoin will reach $19,850 until it happens so wasn’t this enough to believe it’s capacity?

Maybe this is more believable answer from this account

between 175-450 years.

Or more than that if the world is still existing lol 😂

It will take decades before we finally take down bitcoin so I think it will not happen this year or in the coming years. Try to gain more bitcoin because the price will start to pump again and it will finally break the $4k level. We've already earn a lot on bitcoin but I think death is the only limit because this technology continues to grow and whales will always back-up bitcoin to survive.

Why are you asking this question? You're here to shill Bitcoin :D.

Bitcoin will only be useless if there are no more people using it. We know that adoption is happening around the world so your question is the one that is useless. If I will set a years before it will be useless. maybe after 786 years and 1263 years.

only the government can destroy Bitcoin and that won't be easy because the Bitcoin community is quite large.
In addition, developed countries like Japan and America have implemented crypto, so I think crypto will be better in the future.

Anything on this world can be replaced and Bitcoin is no exclusion.Talking about on how many years then i would definitely say that my entire lifetime wont really be enough.  ;D

Fixed that for you mate  ;).  Everything in our surrounding evolve, changes, goes to an end.  Even the mightiest empire of all collapsed.  So there is no difference with Bitcoin, but the question when is still unthinkable.  Unthinkable, since Bitcoin is just getting popular, mass adoption left and right and there is still a hundred years left for it to be mined.  After it was mined, when adoption is established, Bitcoin tx fee will secure mining profits.  I also believe in evolution, adaption and improvement to meet day to day demand, if Bitcoin meets this, I guess it will be generations before it become obsolete.

By that time you say bitcoin is useless it is actually being traded on outrageously high prices. Even if bitcoin doesn't support micropayments anymore still it will be the most transparent and non-editable currency there is. So it will surely have a value.

There's no right time frame to predict because everything related to the existence of bitcoin depends entirely on its users including miners and investors. Maybe Satoshi himself did not know when exactly bitcoin became something useless. I think such a question doesn't bring good benefits, there's still a better thing we have to do with its existence, namely to use it as well as possible, because bitcoin always presents positive opportunities in each session, both when there is a decline and an increase.

Right now, there are users but they are also investors at the same time, so they have interest on the price, if it increase they make profit.
Also, it cannot be denied that there are people who are convincing others to invest using the bitcoin's success like the bull run to attract them.

When bitcoin above all predicts this is a bubble, it turns out it's not and bitcoin is a digital currency because reality exists.
When the price of bitcoin goes down, many people predict this is the end of bitcoin travel. That was answered because the price of bitcoin was slowly rising and there were more and more users. Bitcoin will continue to survive as long as users still believe and are used throughout the world.

It will never use it's value because even if it will go back to the beginning it can still has a value, less than $1 but still has value.
Bitcoin is not just an investment, it's a technology that is going to change the norms of the world, which is from centralized to decentralized.

Isn't that worthy of an increase in value?

A lot, although not everyone.
That makes it very high potential of success in the future.
Bitcoin created the blockchain technology which is very useful and it's even use by a lot of businesses now to make their operation more effective.
The thing that I like with BTC is it's decentralized nature, this is a game changer and will prevail useful than the centralized one.

Bitcoin is not static, its being improved. This is one reason is has remained on top, it has addressed its own "shortcomings". And there is still more to come. Things like: faster, cheaper and offline transactions to name a few. Bitcoin is also ready to be made even more quantum resistant, and in case the time comes, it can also expand from 8 to 16 decimals. Therefore chances are quite high no altcoin will ever replace it at the top.

Why would it ever be useless? It is quite useful!

The technology of bitcoin even these days seems to be getting quite old compared to the new cryptocurrencies that are emerging, or that are in the process of being launched. And I can not imagine how far the complexity of cryptos will go once quantum computing becomes a daily reality. I find it difficult for bitcoin to continue with the vitality of today in the year 2030, but even when it begins to be displaced from its hegemony it will remain an important framework to fix the price of all the others, so its usefulness will continue for at least 30 more years.

I don't think bitcoin will ever become useless because as far as cryptocurrency industry is concern bitcoin will still remain the dominant crypto and the leading coin in the market. Even the new stable coin or security token can never render bitcoin useless.

Bitcoin will not become useless, but if miners decide to stop mining, after all 21 million bitcoin in are mined and who send bitcoin put low fee, if they don't get enough to pay electricity every month and have some profit, i don't know what will happen in that case, maybe if that will happen we will need a new way for confirmation on bitcoin blockchain.

Even that we finally reach its limits at 21 million but considering the fact that bitcoin still existing in the market, there is no reason that it losses its value and could make a way to stop mining. The process will continue and we know that there are lots of crypto coins where miners could switch into them. They still have an options and they still be mining again.

We can't measure it actually how long or when it turns out. Its a big question which nobody could answer it, we are just in the speculations and sometime it misunderstood by the others which could create only a dramatic actions.
Since that time isn't arrived, we better have to enjoy this moment and to find out if this new technology could provide us more than as of what we expected to have.

Bitcoin is getting more popular from time to time and you can also earn here in too many ways but most likely of them are very risky it needs enough knowledge if you're afraid to lose the money you've invested.

I see the ideas of having new ways of possible ventures which Bitcoin offers to the community, we can expect that someday there would be another investment like digital currency, but believing that it won't end and continue to prosper is one of those many reasons to continue supporting and holding this coin, I don't have exact assumptions as I still wants to enjoy what Bitcoin will continue to provide.

Really hard to predict the lifespan of bitcoin if you want to continue its existence. Same here. I don't want to speculate how long will it be in the cyberspace. Let's enjoy the moment while it lasts.

I never thought bitcoin would end because I am sure in the future there will always be people who use and support bitcoin. Bitcoin is the main and most valuable currency in cryptocurrencies. so even though one day there will be 21 million coins. I think it will still be a valuable coin because everyone likes bitcoin.

Well i am a believe in which there will be way more coins than those 21 million set by Satoshi himself.
Let's think as for example IP's where IPv4 is decreasing rapidly and being replaced with IPv6.

There's still chances where we use some unused IPv4 (with consequences) and IPv6 (with some non optimizations).

Those are good examples on how Bitcoin could turn out (reusing some old but clean addresses / blocks) or creating a new set of block addresses by extending previous ones.

It will last long if we go on supporting it and investing much money in the cryptocurrency. Bitcoin needs investors, the people, who believe in it. In this case, it also has many chances to grow.

That's what happened, nobody knows about the future. Although many say bitcoin will be replaced by other crypto as an example of those who are very enthusiastic like eth and ripple, but as long as bitcoin still has a big influence on the crypto market, I won't leave it even though the price falls. The potential will always be there and there are still many people investing in bitcoin and even holding a lot of bitcoin, of course, of all those who have high confidence if bitcoin is able to become something very influential in the world later.

When something new born to this world.
A brand new transaction currency with ease of use and very safety wallet. also it will need decentralized also to defeat bitcoin.
Until that day come, i think bitcoin is still the best way to do a hidden transaction (you know what it used for)

Bitcoin will be around for the rest of our lives, so to be honest this question is somewhat irrelevant. Unless some super-secret quantum computer suddenly unleashes a vicious attack, bitcoin will be safe - and even then it can be forked. Bitcoin won't die.

It for sure, everything has its ends and so Bitcoin. As development continues, old technologies will be replace, will possibly this thing have its end at the right time. That's we've never know when it happens. And before that certain thing will happen, we have to enjoy the moment it came to us and used this according to the purpose of its creation. We are the part of this discovery and can't be replaced for that easily until people found a new one better than this.

Anything on this world can be replaced and Bitcoin is on exclusion.Talking about on how many years then i would definitely say that my entire lifetime wont really be enough.  ;D

It's too racist if bitcoin won't be replaced, even in the future I believe that fiat will be replaced but I don't know when that happens, of course my whole life won't be enough, maybe when the world is already digital and people have vehicles that can fly. very sure of this.

As long as the development when it comes to faster transactions lower fees are on the right track there is nothing to worry, bitcoin was meant to be used by everyone even in the poorest countries with minimal network penetration and will be the bank for the people who are not having the privilege to have their own bank account, when i started out that was the goal and that was echoing in the entire community, now things have changed and until there is a better solution nothing is replacing bitcoin.

And I think it wouldn't happen because even if some alt-coin take's Bitcoins place there would still be a Bitcoin supporters that would continue to use it.

I agree, I don’t think bitcoin will lose supporters, a lot who have been investing in bitcoin was able to experience the hump as well as when it reach rock bottom but still able to hold on as the market recovers so it is very impossible that no one will use it. For me, bitcoin is still the king of cryptocurrency.

Yes. Bitcoin will forever be the king of cryptocurrency unless people will stop using from it and its value will be back to zero. I really believe bitcoin will still live for long years but i'm also open that it won't live forever. It will really lose its value and that new crypto coin will replace its position in an indefinite time.

It's hard to say and I will just based on how fast our technology evolves so I'm thinking that if we will be much more advanced in the next 5 years so perhaps give or take 10 years for bitcoin. Before bitcoin will be displaced or its technology replaced, this will take several hundreds of years, as the world is daily moving towards a technological world, bitcoin best fit into the system, I see a lot of development of the bitcoin ecosystem and great support for it usage. So it's going to dominant for ages to come.

You are practically giving bitcoin a useful life? As if it were a bubble, and that does not work like that, in fact you should study a bit more about the history of bitcoin, to review its structure very well. It also has 10 years of history, the bubbles usually in the Stock Market, last less, on the other hand in the Crypto market everything is faster and if it was a bubble many years ago it would have burst, but you have to pay attention to the operations there are 24 hours.

I don't think any other new coins replace the bitcoin, Now already bitcoin has spend a long time, not too much but still it is alive with a good reputation in crypto market, even during this long period most of the other coins come and try to break the top record of bitcoin, but these coins couldn't do it. Hence bitcoin will be live long life and no one will tell you how much time bitcoin has. So use it and get profit from bitcoin as long as it is alive.

The world has been looking for the best ways to build trust and Cryptocurrency provides that best ways to build that trust. That is two people doing financial transactions without seeing each and both are secure without third parties involvement. I will say bitcoin is here to stay and it is going to be one of the greatest discovery for the next generation.
