Was surprised to see this but I've checked my friends in the social media and found out, it's April Fool's day joke, I was about to compile all my information to submit, lucky that I asked friends about this, a great joke almost got me.  :D

It's not but if you were an active member since a long time ago and i guess you will see theymos will always try to create april mop celebration by adding a strange feature or rules to the forum.
I have been watching it so many times.

in a few minutes I was confused, what should I do, because I cannot fill in all the fields provided,
but when I saw the calendar on the wall I realized, it turns out now is the 1st of April,
but somehow KYC is needed so the forum is neater.

This forum does some April fool day's prank every year. It is usually something funny. In the year of KYC for bounties, KYC for the forum sounded very creative and funny.

Are you guys sure it's April fool I feel it a bit because the form is asking for too many delicate docs that a normal KYC form shouldn't ask. I do hope it's April fool though.

surprised, that was the first thing I felt. The requested KYC is very much. even more than the KYC requested by some large exchangers, but some people have said it is only a joke this April.

When I opened the BitCointalk forum this morning, I was immediately shocked, I think this is a feature that we must fulfill. but I don't want to tell you what the results are. Please fill in all of the for and see what will happen. This forum always surprises and that's why we all feel comfortable lingering here. Of course its april fool joke. Why would Theymos be doing it to us when he knows it will kill the forum in the end. An ICO asking for KYC is already causeing an uproar from the investors how much more if all of us are going to be required to send our documents.  I wasn't really laughing when I first saw it but I carefully check what is to be filled and then went to the Meta section where we mostly discuss forum related subjects and then I saw its actually a April fools joke.

Nice move @bitcointalk forum, you guys sure know how to shake strong guys like me ,I fell for it in the first place ,no doubts but when i click on the link I started laughing.

I didn't even click the link because its common sense that on April 1st you would hear these types of pranks.

Even if you forgot that it was April 1st you need to think "Why would a forum need KYC", makes no sense. If it was a bitcoin casino then it would get suspicious.

Either way after reading the form that you need to fill out, which was very hilarious it should be quite easy to tell its a funny joke.

Hopefully nobody took it seriously.

The current KYC information on the forum still tickle many forum members because many are just experiencing April fool in the first time on the forum, so, nothing is expected from such forum member than panic. Calm it down its just an April fools KYC, don't upload your real face like i have readily done.

I see this as a good improvement, because it will likely reduce the fake accounts, but however there are some requirements that are not suppose to be made compulsory, because what may be required in some countries are used in some other countries. For instance, in my country, if you work for a company and the company pays tax, you are not require to pay tax differently, the company tax covers yours.

This April fool makes us think about what could be a regulated internet. At first, i didn't know if it was a joke or not. But after looking at the other topic and posts, it confirms it.

It is April fool friends. I was also confused what the forum is doing. But later I was told by my friend that the forum is celebrating April foot.
But in fact, I do not think it a right way to disclose all our identity details to any social networking sites.
Do you guys submit your all KYC details to other social networking sites like Facebook, twitter? Facebook has been charged with taking benefits of the KYC of its users. So there is no need to disclose your details unless you commit illegal works.

 definitely its an april fools, when i wake up and open the site i was quite shock when I see the notice in above which is kyc in order to continue using the forum. I agree that it is an April fool's because I can still used the furom even if I did not fill the kyc, I can still quote and post so I think this is really an April fool's. I see that the furom kyc is really amazing but the form is more harder than the ordinary form on kyc in ico.

I received email that a moderator deleted my reply for some reason, then found this KYC thing, thought I was suspected or something. Happy Aprils fool day. Why nobody is talking about the gender options??? lol.

I got scared when I saw that on my dashboard and I was like what the hell has gotten into the admins to ask for kyc. I went through it and the part that I should submit my credit card detail made me say I don't care and will not do this

Finally if it is need to forum i am confusing actually because everyone here known by ID so that why i will give my secret things. On the other hand recent time fake accounts are too much that, KYC is very needed so that one men will come forum with only one account. So both the sides are accepted to me. Initially i was serious about this after reading all the fields required found something wrong . Again after some fields finally asking about credit card details including CVV . I seen the date posted it is on April 1st . But Bitcointalk made me fool for some time . Great going Bitcointlak team .

 I think on this topic today come up with a joke. The joke came so much that I'm surprised. Many took it seriously. Poor and heart attack can be grabbed.

Yes its april fools, last year theymos did it and its happy to have this celebration i really laugh at others who caught in this joke ehehe. Some did the kyc without knowing the date april 1. Most of my friend on messenger had panic mode  :D. Anyway thats far to believe since crypto is an anonymous society, bitcointalk cant do this update

This is a pretty successful joke on April Fool's Day. My friend was irritated and surprised by this joke. He hates to give his true information to anyone and he curses theymos until he realizes this is a joke. :D

I cant get over this, it has finally happened, my worst fears , Government or JP Morgan taking over our beloved platform,that the KYC also include you sending details of your past and present romantic relationship, plus sharing my credit card details with virtually every organisation -Government and private- that can really screw me badly...well, let me dwell on it while I sip this down my throat. It is kind o funny waking up to see KYC in the forum,i know at first many will think the end has finally come,but taking a second look at the information that was asked for,then you know this is definitely a joke of the day.April fool indeed.

I guess by know you already know this is just a prank on Theymos side. I'm sure you are just new in this community, because as far as I know, every April fools day, Theymos will do something in the forum in the spirit of fooling everyone on April 1.  ;D. This is actually my first day on the forum and on logging in the next thing I saw was KYC. I was actually livid, what does Bitcointalk forum need my personal information for? Good to know it was actually a prank. An expensive one I must say.

It's gonna be interesting to see how passes their personal info. But as someone has said, it didn't go to the database but to our local machine only so there's no way of seeing who got fooled.  ;D

Even looking at the details needed to fill the KYC should tell you it is fake. Last year the same happened on the forum, so we should just be aware that on April 1st, news like this will pop up but let's forget about it.

This is an April joke :) but there is a need for an arrangement in the forum. The membership system needs to be reviewed. The Merit system can also be reviewed. Merit is hard to get.

The information requested are somehow irrelevant, and nobody in his or her right senses will send his or her credit card details to third party winch is why i count this as a joke to test some people gullibility. I filled it for fund though without my card details.

It is better to be a joke than to be true because  many may fall sick for this,though some still want it anyway.

Still laughing at myself here. This is the greatest April fool trick have seen today, bitcointalk team got me totally on this. Its very awesome seeing something like this once in a while in bitcointalk forum.

I remember same day last year when another prank was made by theymos and everyone had fun about it. Now, of course it is part of the tradition. But, I won't disagree if this will be implemented in reality. Actually, I was ready to fill up the KYC form before I realized it could be just a prank. lol.

This is certainly funny, but it seems to me that many forum participants were afraid that this would be true, since for participants in bounty companies this procedure would have led to the loss of accounts.

It has to be a joke or else there may be trouble everywhere because many will surely feel sick just because of such action,though i will welcome it anyway.

This is why we always  have  to read the details carefully and not only the title.

At first I believed it was trues but after seeing they are asking for all your card details including 3 numbers on the back I knew something is wrong. I even check my coordinates to see if they really know my adress but I was some place close to an ocean and that's when I found out this was all a joke

Surprisingly but i dont think its an april fool's joke. It's just like a question and answer poll, if you have nothing to hide, why worry? Simply because many people here worried because of they can be found out for having many alternate accounts. Whether it is a joke or not, we have to answer it, don't worry, we have nothing to lose in the first place.

Haha nice one. I think more people got scared than laughed off it. I wonder what's going to happen with those who submitted their IDs. I don't think Bitcointalk is capable of KYC all users including their social identification cards and credit card numbers.

I think there are many people got fooled from that joke. Also i saw many people look worried about that mandatory KYC on this forum.
Lets just used this as a tense releasing cause many of us already get frustrated with the market condition.

I was very surprised when faith went to the forum. Remember that 2018 was something like that, the administration decided to make a joke, but I don't remember exactly what it was. Know that someone passed the test, ha ha ) This is an international holiday and there is nothing wrong, the administration is well done, good move)

I have tried to found where to upload my Passport to do KYC  :o and typed "nothing" many times to answer their asking :D

It will never come true, theymos is too much focused on people's privacy. He will never ask for that. Beside this, cryptocurrency doesn't fit for a KYC verification which should also be true for the crypto related forum although altcoinstalk has a fucking KYC verification system.

I also thought that the kyc requiring us occurs at exactly april 1, and the majority in this forum's member thinks that its just an april fools, but i think its not because it is theymos that makes that announcement, he also told that if there were nothing to hide, why fear submitting such data? So i think it is better to do kyc or else, there would be consequences i guess.

It was a fun part from theymos. He will never encourage KYC for the forum. Why should we put our data? I would rather quit using the forum if it asked for KYC verification. Privacy is our basic need.

Hahaha, I was confused at first when I saw the new development about KYC until I began to see thing like list all the crimes you have committed, who in this world can list all the crime they have committed or even list all the bitcoin address they have made use of, I have been using bitcoin for the past 5 years and I can't count how many addresses I have created since then, and besides I also remembered that theymos tried to pull this kind of prank last year on all of us, I fell for it last year but I am not ready to fall for it this year.

I myself am not interested in KYC, giving genuine identity, but for the bitcointalk forum, it can be officially stated in the forum law, personal data is very sensitive to irresponsible actions, but I see this is an april joke, everything has passed.

I know that from the beginning, so I just fill in with fake data, just for fun. no user wants to provide personal data, such as mother's name, and credit card number lol. moreover, how can the forum cryptocurrency use KYC to join, while decentralization is the trade mark of cryptocurrency itself
