But after the first of April is before the first of April.

What April Fool's joke would you like to see in 2020?

I mean, were still a year(or 364 days for some countries) away from the next April fools, not sure if we should talk about it THIS soon.

What I expect for the next one in 2020 is announcement from theymos that he will shut the forum down, and won't move to Epochtalk or anywhere else.
However, I think it is very soon to discuss about the event that might occur next year.
theymos might  not do anything next year, but I don't know and I don't have enough experience in the forum (just more than one year).
I only experienced two April Fool Jokes (in 2018 and this year).

Pay-per-post is going to be fun, implemented retroactive, double for the Altcoin board.

- New rank requirements implement and all users will be resetted their ranks.
- Ranks will be only determined by activites that in turn only count for posts in the child board, Bounties (Altcoins) (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=238.0)
- Users who don't have a single post in Bounties (Altcoins) will be demoted to Brandnew.
- Merits will have only one use case, to buy bitcointalk souvenirs.

I think it's too soon to discuss such topic. Who knows? Some of us won't make it to 2020  :)

Anyway, I don't like to be a party pooper. I will still provide some list of what's inside my mind right now.
- Everyone will not be able to post.
- "404 not found" will show up in our browser when visiting Bitcointalk.
- Everyone will be freely to tag anyone like a DT1 (but will be back to normal after April 1st and tags will dissappear - this is a bad idea if someone scammed you in April fool and then you tag him/her, it will dissappear) also a boring idea for those who are already DT1.
- Letters from the word "Bitcointalk" will not show in any posts.
- Everyone will be Hero/Legendary randomly but Signatures, Avatars, Bounties and Campaigns as well will be disabled (too bad for those who reached the rank already).

Hmmm what else?

Hey, don't say such thing as that. Everybody will make it :P or else it will be such a waste if somebody doesn't make it.

OP, I think it's way to early for that, theymos will definitely lost interest on april fools if we always do this things. I already committed the crime :P and I think its better if I am just the only one whose guilty.

I was just going to ignore this post when a prank struck into my mind. Can't stop laughing thinking about it.

Theymos suddenly announces that he is giving up his job of managing the forum due to some reasons and is hosting some sort of competition to elect the next forum manager.
Just when the competition ends he announces that it was a April Fool's prank  ;D
That would be so witty :D

Announcement of a mandatory Dear Sir at the beginning of every post followed by a Kind Regards at the end.

I'd love it if the joke was that Theymos was banning signature campaigns and bounties, effective immediately.  The outrage, confusion, and chaos that would ensue would probably get my physically aroused, if you know what I mean.  It would be deliciously evil.

The problem is that most members know a joke is coming, and it's not a shock anymore when April 1st comes around and strange things suddenly happen.  New members might get fooled, though, and that might be enough for day's worth of solid entertainment.

That might be a good one, but I don't think it would fool many people or create a shitstorm in Meta.

I would like to be alive in 2020 considering the existential crisis I go through like every millennial. Thinking about what Bitcointalk should be keeping as an April Fool's joke for the next year is my least concerns in life at the moment. Like do you guys actually think about it? lol

We are making this random suggestions and think it is nothing but Theymos is somewhere eavesdropping like nothing is going on. I bet he will implement one in 2020 but those who made the suggestion will also be fooled.

I hereby move for a change of date for the April prank. As an older member here, it's now a bore for me to know when it happens. On the erection thingy, think about the crash of Bitcoin. That will surely make you go flaccid instantly.

How about a new pay-to-mute feature, where you can pay BTC to keep someone from being able to post for the day.  Might be a fun fundraiser also.

How about theymos not shooting any surprise on April first. I think that will be a big one because users will be totally restive for the whole of the day, being worried about what he has up his head.
Not playing any games on that day is April fools day already because of our experience so far

Also, people might take it to an extreme, perhaps blowing rumors that something might have happened to theymos especially if he was off for like 48 hours preceding April first  :o

Agree with you The Pharmacist. It's not a shock anymore, especially when there was ~10 pages long thread about possible April Fools Day pranks.
@Mpamaegbu, it sounds like a strange suggestion, but why not? For example we can use December 27th date - "Dia de los Santos Inocentes" (Holy Innocents Day). It's day of pranks in Spanish speaking countries.

Although, it would be funny its probably best to keep to ideas that don't have an effect on those who don't want to participate in April fools, and just wants to carry on using the forum like usual.

An announcement that the new Bitcointalk forum has been finished.

And due to serious compatibility and server issues all member ranks have been lost and reset to Newbie. it is no longer possible to determine which member had which rank so everyone starts from 0.   

I hope April Fool Jokes in 2020 is simple.
They just change HOME menu to HOUSE.
In latest April Fool, merit can using to pay merchandise, next to send merit you need fee 1 merit to send more than 5 merit.

Logged evryone out then if they wish to log in tell them that your  ;)password has recently been changed. Or when everyone opens their account they can't post while giving a warning that you are banned on this forum for some reason.

Definitely everyone will freak out when they found this like having cold sweat while almost had a heart attack, thinking what you've done for being banned. I can now imagine our faces when that happen and you realize later that day is when everyone making shit out of you.
Hope Theymos won't consider this haha.

The best april fools joke is being banned. We all dont want to get banned in the forum knowing that its also a source of income because of the signature campaigns. He can also joke about lowering the rank of the members because its kinds frustrating. Theymos' joke every year is really funny. Im sure next year will be another bright idea for him.
