Title: How will you teach bitcoin if someone does want to know coming from you?
Post by: erikoy on April 13, 2019, 04:34:18 PM
I was ask if I could teach what bitcoin or cryptocurrency is all.about. Since, I am.not.knowledgeable in technical.part then I may have some.difficulty on explaining it. All I know is that bitcoin has volatility in terms of.its market price and this is the only thing I can share with the guy.

I just want get ideas from you guys on where to start teaching the guy. Should I start on joining exchange?, creating Wallet?, how to transfer btc?,

Bitcoin is indeed a complicated technology. Is there any chance that this all could be done easily or simplied? Could you suggest that to me. Post your replies and thank.you in advance.

There is no need to get all technical about it. Bitcoin is basically a currency  like FIAT, gold etc, but it is a completely digital currency which is decentralized (No government interference) in nature.

You basically buy and sell stuff with BTC just like any other form of money(FIAT, paypal, gold etc). This is a simple way to explain what it means.

Even just having a simple google research will already be enough to search up on what are the things he do really need to learn.

Bitcoin does not need too much technicality and it design in it simplest form so that all can use it, all you need is to have the basic idea of what it entails which are the market price it usability and owning a wallet and how to send and receive it and if you want to go into trading then you need to learn trading skills.

You don't have to complicate things because if you are just referring to a definition of Bitcoin, then you could just simply search it on the internet. There are videos on youtube that you could share to that person but if you would explain things specifically where you aren't 100% sure of it, things will just stress you out.

Just tell them what you know, at least the basic knowledge or your story/experiences and let them to find more about bitcoin themselves. I believe you do not teach them too much, once they are interested with your story then they will find more information somewhere else. Dont force yourself to teach something that you dont understand it well, or dont force yourself to learn too much just to teach someone else. We are all learning every single day so just teach them in the simplest way as you know.

The worst thing that you can do when explaining bitcoin to normal people is get technical about it, you don't need to use big words because then they would think its a complicated thing and only people with computer knowledge base will know how to use it, keep it short and simple and people will find interest in it, that is if you are knowledgeable about it because sometimes things might seem easy and simple for you but others just find it hard to understand it, but since you said you are not that knowledgeable about it and only know the basics that makes it easier for you to explain it to others.

He got lectures and questions with answers in any level of expertise and very well explained.

In this case, you can simplify the meaning of bitcoin, it is a coin use for transacting payment online, it can also be called as digital currency that has a purpose of making our transaction much easier and convenient for both parties. Since you cant explain it in broad you can also add that bitcoin also a medium of trading here in cryptocurrency, when it comes to pricing you can explain it as the supply and demand in the market or simply it is just like stock exchange or the traditional currency exchange, if someone sells or buy, the price will move corresponds to  the happenings on the market.

If your sole purpose is to teach others about Bitcoin then you must first yourself learn more about it. It isn't necessary to go whole technical about it but yes, you must know the theoretical parts.
You must know how to use it and the flow of transaction from beginning to end and the meaning of all the terms used in it. Basically you must know what bitcoin is and it's purpose and how to use it.
If you all of these then I am sure you will be able to teach not one but many people about bitcoin. I have done it myself and would have encouraged dozens of people to learn about bitcoin.

First of all you can't give what you don't have, you have to learn what bitcoin really means and how it works before you can teach others and secondly bitcoin does not require too much technicality so you can easily teach it if you study it well.

I think, you have to know the knowledge of your object, do your object is understanding of the basic concept of the Blockchain or not? if your object is a very primitive person, then start by explaining the blockchain concept.

then, you can explain about all terms in crypto, and also you can explain mining, trading, investing, Bounty, and others.

If what you said is all that you know about Bitcoin you have almost no knowledge and you're approaching this in a wrong way. If someone asks you to tune up his car and you have no idea how to do it will you go to a forum and ask people to tell you how? It's better not to touch it because you can fuck it up.

Tell him to do research on youtube and maybe on this forum. Tell him to listen to Andreas Antonopoulos he explains it very well.

Probably the best way the teach someone is to lead them to videos on Youtube and tell them to set up a wallet and use it. Without hands-on experience, it's like trying to tell someone how the internet works without them using it.

easy, bitcoin is a digital investment asset that can bring profit, but the fluctuations are very extreme, so don't be surprised if you see a bitcoin price chart that has risen dramatically or dropped dramatically even in a short time. but that's what makes bitcoin different from other assets, so it can bring big profits or big loss.

Start with Mastering Bitcoin + some good articles from crypto sites + making them aware of all kinds of scam happen in crypto space will make a good course.

I think there is no technical and formal teaching of bitcoin it is actually as a fiat money like you use in everyday transactions. The only difference is you use bitcoin in online transactions and nothing different on what fiat money that you own and hold now. I think you don't have to tell him to do some reseach because there is so many blogs that does not true, just explain on your own words and experience.

There is no need to be technical when you explain bitcoin to other people, you can explain bitcoin definitions from your experience, and you need a lot of knowledge to explain it to a new people so you don't confuse them, you need to learn about creating wallet, how many types of wallet, how to used, the risks, and explain what is the potential in the future, don't explain the volatility part to the new people because it will drives people away

I just start with, it is a cryptocurrency.

I am not good with teaching anyone about anything but I do share my thoughts about it. When someone asked me in the past about it, I start with what I've said, and the continuous questions will start. If they are really curious or really want to know about Bitcoin, I can say that through the questions they are asking me and I will continue to answer and explain. If I can say that he is just asking me random questions about it, not really interested at it, I just answer some questions and refer him to some sites I've read.

You may start teaching him by creating wallet and explaining how the wallet be used . Just like receiving and transferring btc to other users. When he is already good enough to in using his own wallet, start teaching him how to trade.

simpler will better, they still don't know anything about crypto, so make sure you tell him the outer skin of bitcoin so they can understand. that means all you have to know is that bitcoin is like any other currency, only the form is different that is digital, but how to use it is the same as fiat that needs a bank, you need a wallet to use it. you can start with that

if someone asks you "what is a car" will you need technical knowledge about how engines work or what the metallurgical process of forging and tempering the bumpers are? obviously not. it is the same with bitcoin too. you don't need technical knowledge to explain it. you just have to have used it yourself so that you can know what bitcoin is before you can explain it to someone else. but if you haven't done that then you will face problems because you don't know it yourself!

Whenever my friends ask me to teach them about Bitcoin, I would tell them to study how to trade since it is the only profitable thing that you could do right now.
I never encourage them to buy Bitcoin or crypto, I always tell them to do it at their own risk.
I would always tells them that there is always a risk it is not a one way ticket to get rich because they saw my success on crypto.

Tell them about making money opportunity from bitcoin from the investment side. I hope before you explain, you already know how the investment work so you don't have trouble to explain. Then you can explain how to create a bitcoin wallet. You can use many Bitcoin wallets as a sample. You can also explain about creating a bitcoin wallet in his Android phone because many of us using wallet from our phone.

After those 2 lessons, you can try to explain the transaction. Make it easy and don't make him confused about the fee because that is the most problematic from my friends who are still asking me. You can say about don't bother with the fee because it will adjust by itself and you don't have to think about how much fee I should use. You can also explain the confirming of the transaction too, and if you want to receive the funds in a short time, then you need to use a higher fee.

Don't try to explain the exchange to details because it could cause him to confuse or complicated because it needs more times to explain. Don't forget to remind him that he needs to study by himself so he can find what he wants. You can also teach him with use sample as for the lesson so he can understand the lesson and he can get the point.

This may sound bad but this was the easist way to explain bitcoin to others because people do always love to listen when it comes to money talks and earning oppurtunities  . infact this was also my method to encourage others to join bitcoin and bitcointalk but unfortunately all of them are just plain lazy  . they stop doing everything after an hour or a day   .

Indeed .  this sounds easy but most us failed with it  . they encourage other people to a wrong investment project  and they will both loose at the end  . some encourage other people to join crypto but they dont state that crypto is too unstable . as a result , many people blame crypto and crypto gains a bad reputation .

Just begin with the most interesting aspect: Tell the students that it's a currency much greater than the proud American dollar. That a single Bitcoin is currently worth more than $5,000. Don't forget to rub it in that in 2017, it was worth close to $20,000. This should captivate the interest of anyone. It did to me. And that was even when Bitcoin exchanged for $750 in 2017.

Also, you can add the asset part of Bitcoin to your tutorial.

so that everyone can believe a little, start implementing bitcoin and talk in detail what bitcoin is so that everyone who hears it can start believing, and participate in playing bitcoin

I should think that you should first brush up on your own knowledge about Bitcoin, before you start teaching other people. You might confuse people more or even give them the wrong information, if your own knowledge about Crypto currencies are lacking.  ;)

I spend several hours a day watching Crypto currency related videos on YouTube and I also bought several books on the subject and most of my time I spend time researching new things about Bitcoin on this forum.  ;)

Take the time do to some research, it is well worth the effort.  ;)

You can still teach someone even if you don't know everything about Bitcoin. OP could pass the basic stuff he knows to the person he wants to teach and let him continue from there. Imo it's not too hard to explain if OP can make it simple and only cover the main parts.

It sounds bad because it is the wrong way to introduce someone to Bitcoin but if it works then that's fine. To me the reason why it's wrong because they might explain it the same way to others and those people could think Bitcoin is only used for earning.

You cannot force someone to learn about something especially if they are uninterested/disinterested about it. But if you are really determined and passionate about it, you can show them your proof that you really earned income during your investments on bitcoin.

The problem with cryptocurrencies (in general) is it has this stigma due to media being portrayed as a medium for illegal activities. But in all honesty, the results will be the focal point in order to influence others. Most people already benefitted from its high volatility making it as a short-term investment.

Bitcoin in itself, is relatively complicated to explain especially to a beginner. There are a lot of infographics and videos explaining bitcoin to the simplest way possible and they can start from there in order to understand the technology which powers this revolutionary payment method.

Here's how would you explain bitcoin in an easiest way to others.

>Bitcoin can become an investment to everyone because of it's price volatility.
> It can be used as an online transactions/payments and without in need of the third party.

If you will explain something like blockchain technology to them, they will just get confused and will easily get lost. Try to say some useful things first before the deeper part of the bitcoin.

You don't have to tell in detail to someone who wants to learn bitcoin. Very basic things will be enough and if he wants to learn more, you can ask him to join this forum or search via google about all the things that are needed. Luckily, we are living in the internet era like now where we could learn almost everything just from our own home.

To be more effective, we must have proof of income from Bitcoin first, then introduce what bitcoin is, its functions, and its opportunities in the future.
According to human psychology in general, it's easier to discuss something when he immediately practices it by investing in bitcoin.

I don't have much knowledgeable to bitcoin or cryptocurrency on the whole. But it will get weird for some people who just come and want to know about it if you directly telling to them about bitcoin through an exchange for the first time. Just tell them about what bitcoin is, what the main reason bitcoin was created and then how its function in daily lives. Those question should be known by new person, if they have known it then you can tell them how to store bitcoin if they wanted it. I think  the comprehension related to bitcoin or cryptocurrency in the mass is capacious, not just someone has a money and has desire to get money from it through an investment they it won't good for them. At least if they get a loss they will leave and never to come back again to use bitcoin in another functions.

From my standpoint, I really don't think you have to go through all the trouble of educating anyone about cryptocurrency. The fact that it involves investing money should mean that the person should do his/her own research about it. You don't want to be blamed when they start to lose money, right? Why not simply ask them to do their own research? And of course, we have this forum to help anyone from all walks of life; beginner to expert.

This is one of the hardest teaching that I can make. I am a teacher myself but when it comes to teaching about crypto I can't really explain well to them. Because some of my terms they don't understand but now I am using some simple situation to relay to them how can easy it can be.

I agree bro. You can't just spout out bitcoin and blockchain terminology to the uninitiated since it will just come out as jargons.  Better to have them familiarize themselves first through those writeups, articles and videos. And then it'll be easier for the both of you to discuss what they want to learn.

I will prefer to answer question after the interested individuals had read all my recommended write up. If he read all I gave, it shows his high interest, high understanding of tech information and he must have gotten enough information to go through. Other information can be provided as a forum member if am not available.

I agree bro. You can't just spout out bitcoin and blockchain terminology to the uninitiated since it will just come out as jargons.  Better to have them familiarize themselves first through those writeups, articles and videos. And then it'll be easier for the both of you to discuss what they want to learn.
Exactly, we should ask them to read about the basics before they want to discuss and find something from us because those things are always shared by people very detailed and simple on the forums, if they cannot do such a simple thing, it just proves that they are not too interested in this area, the discussion with them is just meaningless, we will even waste their time and they also did not receive any harvest from that conversation

That will do because this is the first time that I will going to teach the guy with bitcoin. Probably learning bitcoin will take some time and more or less it can take to 5 days for each process thay includes creating wallet, joining an exchange, and how to transfer from wallet to wallet or wallet to exchange.

I dont know what you mean by teaching about the technology when you can simply explain that bitcoin is a currency in virtual form and will be used in payments

And you don’t need to explain further what you need to do is warch with him via YouTube or any other sites that has explanatory towards cryptocurrency

Let him learn by himself with your help because in this way you can find how interested he was to invest and trust our community here

Learning bitcoin is a long process that could take further, so it won't be expected to be easy to those who wanted to gather knowledge specially for those newbies. The interest coming from your constituents, can be determined once you found out that they're having desires to learn deeply what's with bitcoin. Those factors will help, but for the seek of overviews only because only the actual phase could make a person gain enough knowledge as well.

At first i tell him basic things about cryptocurrency and then bitcoin. I'm try to teach him how to use bitcoin, where is the platform of using this crypto, how to earn bitcoin, how to use it on online sites. And most important thing is gives idea about bitcoin history it's journey. At first I'm try to teach him What is bitcoin? How to use it? What is the value of using bitcoin? How to earn bitcoin?

There are some friends who are asking me to teach them on how to earn in crypto or Bitcoin,
And every time that they do I would just tell them that the only profitable thing that they could do right now is trade so they must learn how to trade and I would tell them where to study.
I would give them some website that would help them how to learn and as of now none of them ever bother me again .
I know that they only think of crypto as an easy way to make money and doesn't really want to study enough they just want to gain profit .
They see me become successful in crypto and they think that I made it so easy and they also want to try it but they don't want to work hard for it so they quit when I told them about trading.

Giving such ideas and observing how the person will react, I think providing basic information will let you know if the said person is interested or not, people who have a wide point of views regarding to investment will seek by himself to explore more, at first it will be hard to attract their attentions
but if they seen good things happened to you, they are the one that will pursue and keep asking how from you.

In this case the best thing to do is google some good cryptocurrencies informations and send it to them on whatssap,  telegram, Email or any other channels of communications.  If you have decided to pass those cryptocurrencies informations to him in those channels and he is still not interested, you can now refer him to some forums like this one and explain to him that he can makes money from them through rendering services and selling goods and since we always like to make money through rendering of services and by then I do believe he will pick interest.

it's difficult to explain directly to lay people who don't know bitcoin or blockchain at all. this takes a long time so they can understand first, I think someone if they want to know they should try to read a lot and explore about crypto, bitcoin and blockchain. now the rest can only discuss

As someone already said: Bitcoin is just a virtual currency that is being used as decentralized (anywhere you want not controlled by anyone except the network).
There are some rules that your friend has to understand in order to achieve profit and not drop bottom (bust everything he gets).
He should take Bitcoin as any fiat market tradings but instead of real money think as a new sort of fiat currency.

Also Bitcoin has his own price due to his own market cap. Take that into consideration when buying and selling and when to gamble with it as to know how much are you willing to afford to lose.
If he goes that road ofc.

To those who really lazy to read the news im not very suggested to go in cryptos as cryptos evolve in every second. First by showing the person the sites they need to check by themselves including this forum, how my wallet works, how to send and receive crypto, basic essentials to start them up. For normal people who doesn’t understand technicality I would say about the currency which is having global acceptance also having limited supply . Firstly I will ask the person how much currency flowing their country it might be huge or uncountable . Then I will tell the currency which is having limited supply and also having global acceptance. For a technical person I will tell about blockchain technology , peer to peer network and decentrelised database.

Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are means to transfer value without requiring a third party other than the network that maintains the record of transactions. They do this by cryptography which mathematically proves a transaction is valid. Validators achieve consensus by proof of work or proof of stake.

Once I'll try to teach someone to learn bitcoin in one and a half year ago. I challenge him to play faucet like what I did before. He doesn't have money to buy bitcoin, but he has a strong will to try many ways to make money including search on the internet. So I tell him to try faucet to earn some free coins (bitcoin, doge, litecoin, dash, etc.). And yes, he works a lot to earn that coin, and I see that every day, he try to earn the reward from every faucet which he thinks that he can collect some free coins.

While he collects the coin, I tried to explain about the crypto exchanges, and I give some NEM to sell because at that time, NEM is good to trade. I tell him that when he wants to sell NEM, he needs to watch the chart and determine the price that he wants to sell. The first time, I see that he is too greedy to sell at the very highest price which could not reach, so I suggest to cancel and change the price to a bit lower than him.

Finally, the coin was sold, and then I teach about how to rebuy the coin in the low price. In that time, I give some explanation about the trend in the chart. I remember that I don't teach so much and I only say that you need to find the lowest price from my sample so you can decide to place on what price.

He is playing with the faucet only 6 months to collect many coins, and then he can start to trade, and he can making his own profit. I tell him that he still needs to learn more about trading if he wants to increase his profit. That will not be easy because he needs to spend more time to learn from many sources. But then, I am happy to see that the last time we met, we trade together and in the short of time, he shows that he can increase his skills, but he still wants to learn more about trading.

it's not easy to explain bitcoin to someone, but clearly you have to tell what bitcoin is, its working system, its advantages and disadvantages compared to centralized currencies.

If they already understand, please teach them to use bitcoins such as making wallets, chasing btc, and trading on exchanges.
- I'm thinking why we need to teach and explain to them all the questions about bitcoin while the benefits we get in this story are almost zero, without any sense for this job, sometimes we will bear many different responsibilities from this story. So honestly, if someone wants me to teach bitcoin or search for any bitcoin information from me, I will definitely reject them, what I suggest is that they should update information on online sites, the technology age always gives them a lot of tools to get the information they need

Because at first i alsp didnt believe bitcoin, because it is really unbelievable i see that if they really wanted to know mpre about bitcoin they really need to have a self study about bitcoin and its definition so that it will become more easy for them to understand.

This is a simple way to explain what it means.
yes, right basically, we just need to mention this, and what distinguishes it is that bitcoin is digital and has a centralized system. I will show them how to use bitcoin, I'm sure they will be interested. like that is enough because they will search for information on their own, the willingness of themselves in seeking information will further accelerate someone understanding something, including when someone wants to understand and apply bitcoin in their lives.

You can start on how does it work, I would suggest to study and discuss about blockchain and how does it work and you should study next the wallets, private keys etc. and difference of bitcoin to others and main use and lastly discuss where to buy it and that's when the exchange and volatility comes.

Well I'm not sure about it but I think you should start from the basic which is for what I've known is the blockchain itself. But it's up to you how you will clearly explain everything, try different approaches and look on what would work and start with it.

The best way to teach someone about bitcoin is show him what you are doing and let him do it also. That's the best way to teach someone. Me personally, I learned fast when someone show me how to do something and guide me doing that thing or activity. When I pass the know of mine to someone, I also do it, like what I do before when a friend of mine wants to know bitcoin and how to trade this cryptocurrency. I tell him to find a good exchange site specifically darb exchange (https://darbfinance.com/?=crowd) which will be his companion in his trading career, taught him the basics which he can trade bitcoin to other cryptocurrencies in the exchange which I use, and others. I also tell him that he can also do transactions with the trading site I mentioned and after that, I let him do it. Now? He is now doing it for a while and thank me for what I taught him.

OP, your post is do different from your thread title, "How will you teach bitcoin if someone does want to know coming from you?" It's really misleading and a lot of posters here took the bait from the topic. From your post, it's not as if the person doesn't like learning about Bitcoin as against your topic title.

Well, I will make it look like a class's in Economics to the learner and start by teaching about money - trade by barter, cowries, fiat, and then Internet coin (Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies). Then teach several ways of saving these different money types. This is how I get to introduce wallet types for Bitcoin. All that should induce more interest in the person before we dive into other aspects of cryptocurrency.

Start with some brief explanation on what bitcoin really is in terms of internet / virtual goods.
Then move to a real life sort of exchange / transaction into real goods that you achieved / obtained by using Bitcoin to pay for it ofc.
Eventually he will start understanding a bit more the possibilities of Bitcoin and any other crytocurrency.

You can just say that bitcoin is simply a digital currency which has a decentralized nature meaning not controlled by the government. Unlike fiat currency that is centralized and is fully controlled and supported by the government. Bitcoin has no stable price because of its high volatility so anytime price is subject to change.

I taught some people or at least I tried to teach people about Bitcoin but their understanding was going nowhere so I basically given up.

Most people basically in 2017 asked me about Bitcoin but they didn't care about the technology, they just wanted to buy some and become rich. And even then I wouldn't get involved because I know that they would get some virus on their computer or get their Gmail hacked and all their BTC would get stolen since they didn't want to spend $100 on a hardware wallet.

I think this is where 99% of the retail market is looking for. They just want a gauranteed way to get rich and don't really care about the underlying technology. The people that care about Bitcoin and changing the world, already most likely know about it and they just do the research themselves by starting with reading the whitepaper by Satoshi.

Crypto IMHO, is 'speculation' not 'investment'. It is the closest thing to finding out about 'a venture capital investment' that I will ever have...as insider billionaires do. (2013).

Thus, IF you think there are really only going to be 21 million BTC and 86% have already been mined and BTC is like 'virtual land'. It is hard not to HODL.

IF you put in $$$ you can afford to lose. That is the real kicker. Investments are stuff you probably can't afford to lose. Speculation on crypto/land or whatever is a different beast.

So it is not that I'm not selling yet (besides panicking at about $3,965 USD BTC price (the horror) of 13 BTC. (now down to only 8 BTC from that). I have an out price after that bit of

backsliding, I will likely be buried with 50% of the BTC Hoard, before selling if it does go tulips. that is my floor.

Anyway, my panic sell aside, when all looked going to sh*t., that is what a lot of us are in HODL mode for. The above way of looking

at how BTC/Blockchain/etc MAY evolve. (again calculated risk and speculation)

It is that the blockchain is not like the Internet run back in the day. If you think 'adoption' is coming. Back in the day with the internet, there was NO

money in the 'backbone' internet itself...it was in the 'applications' (Yahoo, Google, Amazon, eBay, etc). With Bitcoin and the blockchain (the bet is) the

money will NOT be in the applications exclusively but reflected in the PRICE of bitcoin as the infrastructure of BTC and applications are developed.

Thus the 'virtual land' analogy. I certainly am in no position now to mine the BTC I did from 2013, thus if I have drunk the kool-aid, this is the HODL plan.

People confuse buying BTC and crypto as an investment...eh...kinda....but to me it is more a speculative venture capital bet that could still go (I hope)

way bigger then we've seen in the past.

If this was ALL about money, I'd have sold my first year, when it went up 10x and taken my 10k and left the table.

I am enamored with the possibilities and not looking exclusively at the liabilities...thus I guess that is what a HODL'er means at this point in time.

Anyway, how I see this. Dubious or not. (then again, I did as stated above, panic and sell 13 BTC (recouped 4 so far), so consider the source on the above rant)

brad

informations connection to Bitcoin itself.

Even just having a simple google research will already be enough to search up on what are the things he do really need to learn.

I have plenty of friends that wants to know more about bitcoin from me but I was unable to give the detailed information instead I just give them the idea to search and read more about crypto currency.

I was wondering also if there is a technique in which we can teach the newbies even the basics of bitcoin because every time I explain to new comers, I just didn't know where to start. What I am thinking is start from it's wallet, how to send/receive,how to get bitcoin address and 100% to be very careful as bitcoin transaction is not reversible.

You don't need the technical aspect of Bitcoin and the blockchain Technology to make people understand what Bitcoin and Blockchain technology are and also understanding the concept of it. All you need to know and understand is that, bitcoin is an alternative form of physical fiat which operates on a platform (Blockchain technology) which acts as a medium to confirm and record all bitcoin sent and received. Once you understand this basic form of what Bitcoin and Blockchain technloogy are, you can now build on that with further information about it.

Just tell him the basic things you know. If he wants to learn bitcoin, just start from the basic like, what is bitcoin and how does it work. And if he has a question, just answer him. Also letting him watch some videos on YouTube will help a lot to increase his knowledge about bitcoin or crypto. Well, you can also tell him your own story how did you start learning crypto.

You will confuse to tell what bitcoin or cryptocurrency are if youself didn't have knowledge about it. You have to know the basic thing about bitcoin and also you have to know the basic thing what blockchain is. I believe if you know the basic of both you will easily give a learn to people who has an interest to bitcoin. Giving a knowlegde to other people is important but before you give a knowledge you should overcome first what will you convey. If not, there will many question posed to you and you can't answer it and other people will doubt to know more about it.

thats true but all here in this thread are already crypto enthusiast we all have a knowledge pertaining to cryptos  . we dont need to be a pro to be able to teach someone because basic understanding on crypto is already enough them  .

there will many question posed to you and you can't answer it and other people will doubt to know more about it.

just tell them the truth  .if you cant answer the question that they will throw , just let them use google  but i guess they wont ask more question rather they will only ask on how to start with bitcoin or in cryptos  . the simple answer could be recomend them a trusted wallet  . show them where to find the recieving and sending address . that should be the basic  .

First of all, I don't believe that Bitcoin is a complicated technology as far as basic use including security precaution is concerned. We use email facility daily but I am sure that most of us have no idea of how of email actually works in a technical sense behind our mailbox screen. Similarly, Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies have a vast scope if someone wants to learn it in depth but as I said, it is not that much difficult from a user point of view. I have always believed that a practical demonstration of Bitcoin transaction is the best way to learn and explain how Bitcoin and cryptocurrency works.

Just tell him what you know, from the basic up to the most complex thing you can share. But it doesn't have to be super technical. Let your knowledge come from your experience. Then if you have shared almost everything you know, then it's time for the both of you, not just you or him alone, to do your own research so that you two can expand your knowledge in cryptocurrency. Eventually, you will have more ideas to share. Actually, just by simply reading posts here can already give you almost everything you need to know about bitcoin and other cryptocurrency. Don't stress yourself too much bro.  :)

Someone that doesn't know basics of how things work, will be frustrated with the technical aspect. I think it will be fair to distinguish between fiat/paper money (what they already know and bitcoin(what they want to know), teach them from the known to the unknown. This way, the knowledge should sink.

Teaching them some basics and have some info on how crypto works would enough for them to start with.  They can actually fully learn it when they'll be spending more time in here.  It is our individual adoption to the system which could drive easily to understand it's flow.
They can discover a lot of things when they are actually doing it, talking is not enough but to be at hands on will be great.

I started simply with Googling and reading everything about bitcoins and crypto currency in general. But this forum definitely helped a lot and it's always updated so it's almost impossible to miss any kind of important news and information. So I'd recommend anybody to start with some basic information and then proceed to register here. :)

You have to keep it simple as much as you can and focus on the most important facts on bitcoin. Don't give too much details, especially technical, because people will get bored. Also, give them some practical examples where they can see how it's functioning.

You should not put yourself into stress on how you would explain to him about Bitcoin.Just point out this forum and he would definitely find all the important things or
informations connection to Bitcoin itself.

Even just having a simple google research will already be enough to search up on what are the things he do really need to learn.
I strongly agree. Maybe you can first make an outline of ideas on how you will be able to explain bitcoin / cryptocurrency in a simplified way. This forum and google are your friends. Utilize them. :)
Actually it doesn't need to be an expert first to invite someone to use bitcoin. as long as you know the basics of bitcoin, that's the most important thing. if you want to teach someone, try with basic things, and if they are interested, point them to this forum or on google, learning together is much better right

That will be a good way for new people who wants to get involved in cryptocurrency.
He should be able to learn by himself and just to ask for the question. If he still confuses about what he learns, then he can ask with his friends, or he can ask in here.
Learning basics information is a must thing that every new people should do, and they need to search in many places if they want to know more about cryptocurrency or bitcoin.
That will not just stop for some period, but you will need to learn in every day and search for more new information to improve your knowledge in cryptocurrency.

Its from mininig cloud or with pc picecs but its expensive ;)
Do it if you can, but it will difficult IMO. They will ask to you how mining is, and how cloud is and even for some people who lack to technology they will not now what PC is. Whereas, to give an understanding about bitcoin to other people need a simple way, you don't need to tell them a long explanations such us about mining, cloud mining or mining thru PC, it will be hard. Unless, you convey it to someone who has knowledge to technology such as a college, maybe they will know it. Just tell them, bitcoin is money but if they don't believe it you can find some merchants who accept bitcoin and prove it diredtly to them.

There’s a popular saying having half knowledge of a subject is as good as having no knowledge of the subject, in your case I feel you need to do lots of research before you tell people about bitcoins. What I feel is you’re trying to make it very complicated, hence I would suggest you to stick to the basics of bitcoins. The best way to do it is to gift them few Satoshis, as this will teach them how to use bitcoins as a currency, how to operate a bitcoin wallet and then they’ll automatically learn on their own.

If you don't know how to teach someone and then just don't. If you do it wrongly, then your mentee would misunderstand your statements and just make something bad happen on both sides. Also don't pretend to know anything, that's an idiot way to teach.
