I'm reading that Max Keiser has abandoned MaxCoin. Any truth to the these rumors?

Oh you mean the guy that said he is excited for another September 11th because it will be a boon for cryptocurrencies?  Wow - can't believe he scammed people out of thousands and then left the project.

I don't think it was doing as well as he was expecting.
It does seem like he's dropped it but does occasionally refer to it.
Can anyone confirm this?

I saw a retweet today where he was thanking the devs for keeping the public informed as though he was not directly involved with the coin.

Looks like he and his cronies minted it and now he wants to wash his hands of it because so many of us got brnt by it. I think this is just a hunch as with maxcoin anything goes really. :'(

I doubt he will ever condemn Maxcoin publicly.. my guess is he's pretty embarrassed about the whole situation.

We have been made aware of this rumour and would like to briefly comment, as the developers of MaxCoin. The rumour is completely unfounded and it is to our great regret that people believe it to be true.

Firstly, does it make sense that we would appear on television, on the Keiser Report, as named guests, if we were performing a pump and dump scheme? This is an illegal, not to mention hugely immoral, activity and it would seem foolhardy at the very least to do so. The identity of the developers is widely known and, due to this and the connection with Max Keiser, we are one of the most transparent altcoins available at the moment.

Whilst the launch was regrettably rocky, for which we apologise, we have continued to maintain MaxCoin, releasing software updates, working on affiliated services and trying to establish deals with exchanges, stores and payment processors. We will continue to do this for the foreseeable future and, additionally, are looking to encourage community developers to expand the project. To this end we are currently exploring the possibility of raising some capital to allow bounties to be offered for development.

I hope this assuages some of the doubts of the community. Please also be aware that we are not active on this forum and that the use of Twitter is the best way to contact the development team.

I'll admit I got MaxCoin wrong. The lack of Max Keiser saying anything about it for awhile seems pretty clear to me.  :-[

target price 500 satoshi in 5 months. about where fastcoin is, maxkeiser messed with cryptos and got burnt, sorry that along with him went a large community of people. at least his reputation of a joker is finally under everybody's scrutiny. yet, there's something more he can do to crap onto himself even more: launch the stacycoin.

Yes.
A comeback is always possible.
(For example)
If the price gets low enough someone could buy a bunch and try to re-brand it in an effort to rise above an ugly past.

TV gives Max a huge advantage. He could suddenly apologize and show how much he really cares.....lol?

Is this coin profitable for anyone except the miners? Difficulty at 32000 but still getting dumped on cryptsy. This was my absolute worst investment, I'm bag holding and want to know whether to cut my losses.

I would have thought to protect their investment the miners have to give up mining, find something more profitable and just buy maxcoin. Considering it could have a future, all the coins can't.  Least its going up and down at the moment.

Not sure why you put some much energy into this Real Solid when you've profited so much from Maxcoin on your MCXnow exchange. But I guess you're profiting the most from volatility, from people buying and selling and since this is highest volume coin on your exchange by far... You are clearly painting a very inaccurate picture.

Your whole premise about Keiser "abandoning" Maxcoin is wrong and this very clear. You've just carefully selected a bunch of tweets that can be misinterpreted, especially out of character, but those who followed Keiser know the guy is not just a financial guy but also an actor. A stand-up comedian from the Seinfeld generation.

Glad I didn't touch this coin. Go against the hype folks.. If 100,000 people are getting involved on a sure thing, you assume 100,000 people are going to get rich if you join in. This was just another case where the crowd got burned and a few people walked away laughing.

I'll buy thousands of them when they're worthless. Just out of spite. Then delete the wallet. I'll be making Maxcoin fractionally less worthless.

I've watched the #1 Maxcoin "richlist" on MCXNow climb from roughly 54,000 to 148,000 coins and now there's two with 100,000 plus.

Max didn't get burned he holds thousands (really more btc), he was just out to get some more.. He has a song called "pump and dump, you all can do it now, sing it with me, pump and dump" really he was on the radio saying this and singing this song, I was like what a giant crook!

yes and no, this coin is in wallets/some markets which = some wallets, when the official song is "pump and dump" by max keiser himself, you are really foolish to hold them...

Man this is not good as a fan of max but someone who didn't get involved with this coin.  I'd read alot of negative stuff once I was aware of Maxcoin and now this thread seems to confirm alot of the issues nay sayers were bringing up early on.  Sort of a an eye opener to say the least.
