Corporate Traveller, the largest travel management firm in the United Kingdom has now started accepting Bitcoin (BTC) for payments. The news was announced by a press release on April 15.

The firm has also partnered with BitPay for making crypto payments possible. Andy Hegley, U.K. General Manager at Corporate Traveller said:

“We identified an increasing demand from our clients for the option to pay in bitcoin for business travel bookings made by our travel consultants. We chose BitPay to manage our merchant processing because they make it easy and handle the entire process of getting the Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash from the customer and depositing cash into our account.”

Never heard of this company since I am not from the UK, but this is great news nevertheless. Companies are slowly and steadily beginning to realize the importance of the cryptocurrency market and blockchain in general which can become the next big thing like the Dot com boom in the past.

Great news again more and more travel firms are not taping into the potential of the cryptocurrency and adopting bitcoin and other altcoin as mode of payment for travel's, I read about another traveling firm going to be accepting 100% payment using a new token and also bitcoin. It becoming clear that the future of online payment revolves around digital currency.

This is a piece of great news for those bitcoin users who lived in the UK and want to travel the world. I could say that this is also a good move for that company to accept bitcoin as part of its payment system.

Another great adoption that have happened towards bitcoin, it will be just a matter of time before other merchants and big companies would do the same as this UK company did.

Never heard about the company and couldn't find much information about it online, but it is always nice to see more companies recognizing Bitcoin as payment. It's important to gain more if such acceptance not only because it is helping to raise awareness about cryptocurrencies, but also because it establishes the status of Bitcoin as money, not some stuff for trading. This, in turn, means that as such it should not be taxed, because it's not a commodity.

It's actually great that other industries are starting to integrate blockchain tech and cryptocurrency in their business. As time goes by, we can expect that more and more people and establishments will start adapting cryptocurrency. This might even push or influence other companies or even the government to make a deeper research why cryptocurrency adaptation is increasing.

Honestly, looking at the company website does not seem to me to be the UK's largest travel company. But it is very important to note that it is a company that provides services to the corporate world. That is, if they are accepting Bitcoins, it means that other companies are willing to use Bitcoins as a means of payments

That company is not familiar.  But if that news is true I think this is a big advantage of bitcoin because when that news leaks the image of bitcoin because even the big and rich company in a progressive country are already accepting bitcoin. And this will be the bridge to make other merchant to accept bitcoin.

So there must be really lots of people who's eager to use bitcoin as payment for travels for them to accept it. Bitcoin is really going mainstream nowadays. But and also Bitcoin Cash??

There are billions of companies in the world and it's very much possible that you might not know the existance of a company. CT is a corporate player and works on B2B mode, so as a retail cusotmer we may have not heard about them.

As long as there are businesses and corporations that accepts bitcoin with their payment method it would always been a very good news for the community. Don't look at the quick effect of it because it takes time to see the enormous impact of it to the market.

It is going on mainstream and the idea of bitcoin being used only for illegal activities is starting to break. About bitcoin cash? don't talk about it, they are just riding the popularity of bitcoin.

Bitcoin adoption is always a good news for its community. Our worldwide crypto community is getting bigger day by day which is really a positive sign for bitcoin overall development. Its just a matter of time bitcoin will be accepted in all important section as a trusted and secure payment method. Until then keep supporting bitcoin.

Bitcoin has already made an revolutionary effect on worlds economy. Peoples are trying to get rid off old slower and risky transaction system. Bitcoin took their attention for its safe, secure, super fast transaction system. 

Obviously as others have commented, they haven't heard of this company. And probably they wanted to be known around the globe that's why as part of their marketing ploy, they chooses to accept bitcoin as it's slowly breaking some grounds now. And assuming the trend will go up in the next 5 years, though who's willing to accept now have a big advantage in the future.

Quite unheard of for me, though if this is one way of making things closer for people to accept bitcoin, then it's fine for as long as they really plan to retain bitcoin for the entirety of their operations. If not and it's just a marketing strategy to lure down people on their firm by riding on the hype of cryptocurrencies, then I don't think they will get a long way down the road and would probably be out of ideas after the hype for bitcoin has died out.

This is a gradual step in adoption. Although this will instantly not lead to market bullishness since the company is directly interested in how Bitpay converts the coins to cash. Although, this will encourage other firms to toe the same line and the awareness will become more massive and boom, bigger adoption in time to come. It's a win for Cryptocurrency.

Its really good news Bitpay gave real opportunity for crypto currency payment . Hope soon my countries websites also start to use crypto payments . Some countries are trying to ban crypto currency some are coming up with more acceptance . Its really good move.

Any acceptance is considered a good news whatever the reasons.

Although I consider accepting using Bitpay to be a kind of soft acceptance, because the third-party payment processing means that they still have reservations about this technology, but as long as there is an increase in demand, there is no objection to getting more profit.

Maybe if the price/volatility stabilizes, there will be more motivation to accept BTC directly without the need to exchange it to paper currency.

maybe its a new company thats why we havent heard it yet? new or not, if there is a company and accept crypto for payment, thats what we are trying to and thats what make crypto bigger.

Yes, I would rather see a direct Bitcoin->Bitcoin payment directly. But I guess having Bitpay in the middle to faciiliate is not that bad after-all. Marketing strategy or not it's good to hear that some company is willing to take the reach and plunge into this whole "Bitcoin payment accepted" here logo. At least if you want to travel, then you have a lot of options now and it could grow in the future.

This news is very positive and should be on the front page of all the newspapers in the world in the economy section, I believe that the growing technology boom and the value that bitcoin is taking is causing managers to make the decision to accept Bitcoin payments, it seems to me that many people will start to acquire more goods and services.

What I do not agree is that in some countries they take advantage of their policies by charging taxes, because the basic principle of this is decentralization and financial freedom. There are also some airlines that I have seen that always have notices that accept bitcoin, and I think it's very good, not all of them in some countries at the time of arrival do not have the local currency, but through bitcoin they jump over these fences and much more to the speed and security that offers to acquire goods and services with bitcoin.

Well this may take Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies another step in the popularity and will surely make an upstart for people to pursue it again and brought an even larger demand with the services and platform of this kind of transaction and I think this could lead to making other people that don't really use Cryptocurrency as a paying method can become curious and at the same time interested with the convenience and security of this kind of services, Well that is just my thoughts and lets just wait for further reports about it.

Listing businesses that are "adopting" bitcoin is so 2013ish-2014ish as far as the forum is concerned.
Those finance nutheads with swanky offices in London calling themselves, rather humbly, bankers and traders are amongst the first buyers of Bitcoin.

Back wehn the craze swept in 2014-15, these same people would have been the first one to lap up cheap bitcoins. It is an irony now that they get to spend them in royal vacations, that too in the name of "corporate travelling"..😊😊

A lot of people see traveling as the ultimate measure of success when it comes to business/jobs online and the fact that this UK firm accepts it then it's extremely cool. It's only for business though according to what they say but that is a really huge difference because only that could bring a lot of capital to the cause.

Let's wait until more follow. Even if unstable for now and possibly some years, the more it is accepted, the more people that will use it. Me among them.

It's great to see that more and more merchants accepting bitcoin as payment method.
Recently I heard that one company in my country solved problems which many people, who rent holiday apartments, had with young guests.
They often asked them if is possible payment in bitcoin but they couldn't accept it because on the end of day they must deposit fiat money in the bank.
In this company they have found a solution to this problem.
They have developed a special application through which guests pay with bitcoin, conversion is made in the app for the current bitcoin rate and the owner of the apartments on their bank account receive fiat money.
Such innovative solutions and applications will further expand the use of bitcoins in the real world.

That my friend is NOT Bitcoin adoption, but rather a channel for Bitcoin to be drained back to Fiat currencies. You do not accept Bitcoin when you make use of some Payment processor.  ::)  We are buying from millions of merchants via Payment processors and these people destroy Bitcoin's original use case, by having to trade through 3rd parties and effectively destroying people's pseudo anonymity in the process.

This is nothing to be happy about, because existing Bitcoin hoarders are just going to use these services and then those bitcoins will find their way back onto the supply side and consequently pushing down the price, due to a increase in the supply.  >:(

Always good to see companies incorporating bitcoin into their payment systems but I’ve never heard of them tbh. Little steps are always good though on the route to widespread mainstream adoption.

Never heard of this so called "Corporate Traveller" but still this is consider as an adoption in UK. It's a great news for all of us,  not only in UK. We wanted mass adoption of bitcoin with everybody that is living in this world. I don't know about this company but still if it is a small company, adoption starts at that rate.

More and more companies start accepting bitcoin in the last months and now it seems like big companies have noticed this is the trend right now and they have also added it to their payment methods. Now let's hope people are actually going to use bitcoin for this kind of services otherwise companies will notice there is no demand for it and they will probably remove it

It's good that they listened to the wishes of their customers. I'm always happy when there is such news, because I'm always interested to know about the places where you can pay crypto.

It is a large company with a huge business volume and has several international clients and different incomes levels
I hope btc is the best option for them to spread the idea strongly.

this is quite good news in the travel industry. we all know that there are a lot of travel-related projects here but none of them succeeded with their goals yet. they are still being traded in exchanges but haven't seen the actual usage in the travel industry. at least this company is starting to accept bitcoin. and maybe later on, they will create their own coin also when they found out that having their own cryptocurrency will give them a lot of benefits. but for now, this is great news for travellers that don't want to carry cash in their pockets. just few taps from their phone or laptop, they are good to go.  :D

Another use of bitcoin. This news if it is true will be an additional to bitcoin’s foundation and reliability. Great to know that there are more and more big companies trusting bitcoin and another option for bitcoin holders who cannot easily convert their coins into fiat if they need to travel. So the price for sure in not fix in bitcoin but will always be based on the current value of bitcoin in fiat.

It's really great that bitcoin now accepted in offline transaction. Now many companies, firms are accept bitcoin in their financial activities. Bitcoin using for pay bills, buying goods, for payment and many ways. It's really good for the UK that their firm corporate traveller now accepts bitcoin payments. That's great for these people whose are using bitcoin.
