UK Firm Corporate Traveller now accepts Bitcoin Payments

Corporate Traveller, the largest travel management firm in the United Kingdom has now started accepting Bitcoin (BTC) for payments. The news was announced by a press release on April 15.

The firm has also partnered with BitPay for making crypto payments possible. Andy Hegley, U.K. General Manager at Corporate Traveller said:

“We identified an increasing demand from our clients for the option to pay in bitcoin for business travel bookings made by our travel consultants. We chose BitPay to manage our merchant processing because they make it easy and handle the entire process of getting the Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash from the customer and depositing cash into our account.”

Never heard of this company since I am not from the UK, but this is great news nevertheless. Companies are slowly and steadily beginning to realize the importance of the cryptocurrency market and blockchain in general which can become the next big thing like the Dot com boom in the past.

Great news again more and more travel firms are not taping into the potential of the cryptocurrency and adopting bitcoin and other altcoin as mode of payment for travel's, I read about another traveling firm going to be accepting 100% payment using a new token and also bitcoin. This is a piece of great news for those bitcoin users who lived in the UK and want to travel the world. I could say that this is also a good move for that company to accept bitcoin as part of its payment system.

Another great adoption that have happened towards bitcoin, it will be just a matter of time before other merchants and big companies would do the same as this UK company did.

Never heard about the company and couldn't find much information about it online, but it is always nice to see more companies recognizing Bitcoin as payment. It's important to gain more if such acceptance not only because it is helping to raise awareness about cryptocurrencies, but also because it establishes the status of Bitcoin as money, not some stuff for trading. This, in turn, means that as such it should not be taxed, because it's not a commodity.

But it is very important to note that it is a company that provides services to the corporate world. There are billions of companies in the world and it's very much possible that you might not know the existance of a company. CT is a corporate player and works on B2B mode, so as a retail cusotmer we may have not heard about them.

As long as there are businesses and corporations that accepts bitcoin with their payment method it would always been a very good news for the community. Don't look at the quick effect of it because it takes time to see the enormous impact of it to the market.

Obviously as others have commented, they haven't heard of this company. And probably they wanted to be known around the globe that's why as part of their marketing ploy, they chooses to accept bitcoin as it's slowly breaking some grounds now. And assuming the trend will go up in the next 5 years, though who's willing to accept now have a big advantage in the future.

Quite unheard of for me, though if this is one way of making things closer for people to accept bitcoin, then it's fine for as long as they really plan to retain bitcoin for the entirety of their operations. If not and it's just a marketing strategy to lure down people on their firm by riding on the hype of cryptocurrencies, then I don't think they will get a long way down the road and would probably be out of ideas after the hype for bitcoin has died out.

This is a gradual step in adoption. Although this will instantly not lead to market bullishness since the company is directly interested in how Bitpay converts the coins to cash. Although, this will encourage other firms to toe the same line and the awareness will become more massive and boom, bigger adoption in time to come. It's a win for Cryptocurrency.

Its really good news Bitpay gave real opportunity for crypto currency payment . Hope soon my countries websites also start to use crypto payments . Some countries are trying to ban crypto currency some are coming up with more acceptance . Its really good move.

Although I consider accepting using Bitpay to be a kind of soft acceptance, because the third-party payment processing means that they still have reservations about this technology, but as long as there is an increase in demand, there is no objection to getting more profit.

Maybe if the price/volatility stabilizes, there will be more motivation to accept BTC directly without the need to exchange it to paper currency.

Yes, I would rather see a direct Bitcoin->Bitcoin payment directly. But I guess having Bitpay in the middle to faciiliate is not that bad after-all. Marketing strategy or not it's good to hear that some company is willing to take the reach and plunge into this whole "Bitcoin payment accepted" here logo. At least if you want to travel, then you have a lot of options now and it could grow in the future.

This news is very positive and should be on the front page of all the newspapers in the world in the economy section, I believe that the growing technology boom and the value that bitcoin is taking is causing managers to make the decision to accept Bitcoin payments, it seems to me that many people will start to acquire more goods and services.

What I do not agree is that in some countries they take advantage of their policies by charging taxes, because the basic principle of this is decentralization and financial freedom. There are also some airlines that I have seen that always have notices that accept bitcoin, and I think it's very good, not all of them in some countries at the time of arrival do not have the local currency, but through bitcoin they jump over these fences and much more to the speed and security that offers to acquire goods and services with bitcoin.
