as we see, the price of Bitcoin starts to grow and soon the price of Bitcoin will reach $ 6000 or even more than that, but what is happening now is the price of other cryptocurrency does not increase when the price of Bitcoin increases, because usually the price of other cryptocurrency will increase also when the price of Bitcoin increases, so what do you think is happening now? does the price of Bitcoin not affect for the price of other cryptocurrency again?

I think the main reason is that, people are pulling their assets from Altcoins and dumping it to Bitcoin as it is increasing. When Bitcoin starts to drop, we might see people who will pull out from bitcoin and dump their assets to alts.

That's because each ALT / ICO coin has their own individual / exclusive price value.
When you see some of them following Bitcoin price is because those buyers / sellers are having an influence with bitcoin when they exchanging their ALTs.
Which makes ALT / ICOs following it's price.

Be patience time has comes for cryptocurrency top altscoins becoming follow to increase in the king of crypto. We knows bitcoin starting to recovery so just stay relax and wait for the right time for the whole crypto bouncing.

Whenever bitcoin price moving upwards, expect that altcoin price will either be stable or might drop down a little.
People sell their altcoins to buy bitcoin to maximize their profit during bitcoin market recovery. Altcoin price will recover once bitcoin price becomes stable, once people starts buying back their trusted altcoin.

it is because traders only switch to altcoins whenever bitcoin price is stable and they can't make profit from that. so when bitcoin starts being volatile again they immediately come back to bitcoin market and that means dumping altcoins hence the market wide altcoin price drops each time bitcoin price rises or falls.
it is also because everyone is here to accumulate and increase their bitcoin holdings and all the rest (altcoin trading) exists to serve that purpose.

Simply because investors are shifting their funds to bitcoin from altcoin market. You will also noticed that the marketcap is not moving that big which also tell us that constant moving of assets are going on and smart investors knows that bitcoin is the right to invest at this point.

It is because people get saturated with token that they ever invest then forget it. People start to collect more bitcoin to join the next bitcoin bull market. After get enough profit from bitcoin then their purchasing power will increase then they will invest in new ICO project. There is no altcoin which can survive without good team behind it. So you better sell all of your altcoin for bitcoin now.

The increase in the price of bitcoin is indeed very influential on other coin price movements. indeed, what feels affected is the altcoin because the biggest impact is the decline in altcoin prices. but there were just a few coins that had risen like ethereum. we are difficult to predict the price movements of digital currencies and everything can happen.

Yes saw something very similar to this in 2017 , xrp rocketed and alot of other alts in december right before btc got to its peak and started to drop when ppl where moving btc to alts instead.

What's been mentioned is clearly getting reflected on the market, price of bitcoin keeps growing and on the other side there needs to be gradual growth with the altcoins. This time we haven't experiencing any form of gradual growth of altcoins along with bitcoin which show the traders dumping altcoins and accumulating bitcoin. The price has grown high to $6000 while ethereum stands close to $170.

I myself do not understand the movements of every coin price on the market, but not all altcoins experience it. and there is a possibility that the main reason is clear because the volume moves from altcoin to bitcoin, so the more trading volume on bitcoin will cause an increase in market capitalization in bitcoin, so the price of bitcoin will automatically increase.

Its mostly people selling altcoins for bitcoin at these times. Other than that my observation is that whenever Bitcoin increases in price at a really fast pace, it causes altcoins to dump. A slow and steady increase, however causes altcoin prices to rise as well. The worst part is that if bitcoin dumps after going up, then it causes a bigger ripple in the altcoin market, and I have noticed they test newer lows which are even lower than their original prices.

Dude its a great news, and now Bitcoin smashes $6,000 glorious figure it will help the enthused to get in the mainstream. It will definitely impact on other cryptos as people again move towards their first love ;)

normally bitcoin has a better position than all other cryptocurrency, where bitcoin struggles to strive others must have been so down to pick, bitcoin leads others follows. one thing i appreciate is that we all have a positive mind of better values for the nearest days.other altcoins too have hope to get better with time.

Ok, it is actually quite simple to explain. Crypto currency traders know what happened in 2017, when the Bitcoin price started to rise to a all time high and they are now anticipating the same thing happening again. The obvious response from them is to sell some of their Alt coins to invest more into Bitcoin, because they want to be ready when the price goes back to $18 000+.  ;)

I have sold almost 40% of my Alt coins to buy more bitcoins in anticipation of what might happen in the next few months with Bitcoin.  ;)

OP, it may, or may not affect the altcoin market negatively. But currently, it is. Check the chart for Bitcoin's dominance in marketcap in Tradingview labeled "BTC.D". It's 60% and increasing.

I don't believe it means that the altcoin market is "dead", it probably means that it's "Bitcoin season". 8)

Hello, I don't have a lot of knowledge in crypto world so my question may be ridiculous ...

I bought a lot of altcoins when btc was 4000$, from the day back to now bitcoin gained 2000$ and my wallet is almost the same, I also lost money for some alt coins, my question:

Is it possible that this "pumping" Is a wanted behaviour from those who have control on the market? Is it possible that they manually-secretly decreasing altcoins on purpose, for the will of bitcoin? (Excuse my baguette i'm french)

actually a more accurate observation is the fact that ETH price dropped down to 0.0279BTC as bitcoin price went up.
bitcoin from $5800 to $6000 is 3.4% rise
ETH price from 0.0290BTC to 0.0279BTC is a -3.8% drop.

They are not intentionally manipulating alt coins but rather the money is being transferred from altcoins into bitcoin simply because traders know that there will be a push.

Finally, we see the bitcoin price break $6000. The altcoin is following bitcoin, and with the increasing of the bitcoin price, some of the altcoins increases too. You can see at the market, there are a lot of altcoin preparing to break the higher price but the other altcoin still on, the lower price and it seems, the altcoin is waiting for a good moment to increase.

Yeah I know it hurts but before btc shows this bull rally, some of the altcoins were increasing in a value and I was expecting that most of the top coins would so the same but it did not. Maybe the same scenario will happen like when btc stopped its bull run, altcoins are going to do the same after so let's better hope for that.

Bitcoin's price increase is just a pinch of bread and its maybe the reason why altcoins are still not affected by it. I believe that bitcoin and other alts are pricw related but i dont think it will move with just a $2K difference since the bottom $4K.

There are some coins that are also positively moving but generally speaking the altcoins are not getting benefited with the upward movement of Bitcoin. This can mean that the marketplace is now focusing too much on Bitcoin and so far there is no marked spillover unlike what we had seen in 2017 where almost all coins and tokens including many shitcoins were rejoicing. Now, does it mean that altcoins have already lost their luster and that investors are now getting wiser?  Let's see in the coming weeks how things will be unfolding.

It's not easy to say that the price of other cryptocurrency will increase if Bitcoin will do. Since they have different usage, then they should have different movement in the market in accordance to the supply and demand of each coins.

Well said, the demands will be the turning factors in order to get a good hype from those supporters who's believing about the industry, the venue of investment will be classified when a certain project have a good of audience who'll support the progress to achieved success not just to relied with bitcoin .

don't expect all coin price to increase because of btc price increase , only good project price raise can be expected , you need good projects if all shit coin price would increase then everyone will be rich

People basically will always be looking the way how to make profit in trading and if the particular coins price were increasing such as bitcoin today i think they will more concern to watching bitcoin price chart because lately to get profit from bitcoin trading looks promising and normally they will not hold altcoins and went for bitcoin only even if supposse can they will sold their altcoins to bought more bitcoin i think that's why when bitcoin price increase it was not following to altcoins price

This is not the exact reason for it.

When bitcoin starts to get a price pump the trust on the whole cryptocurrency is increasing and thats the beginning of alts to increase their prices too, It is not becuase they dump bitcoin and go to alts instead.  :)

I think btc will slow down then consolidate and let alts pump before go lower. maybe take few weeks to occur.

Bitcoin is simply the first one to start this race. Now, I suppose that there will be a breakthrough in the market. Cryptocurrencies must fasten their speed. At least, the probability of it is high.

I think the obvious reason is that bitcoin price tend to increase in this current market condition because people are selling their altcoins to buy bitcoin, it means no new money is getting in. When bitcoin price is increasing as well as the altcoins, it means new money is getting in.

This is I think the reasonable answer for that. Most of the investors are selling their altcoins to buy bitcoin because we all know that the market performs bull trend. I also wonder how could this happen since most of my hodl altcoins were on red but btc's in green. Somehow I just hope that they will still follow the bull trend

AFAIK You need to know that all ALT have their own prices, indeed it all depends on increasing BTC but ALT has different team and interested parties which is why differences exist. You must also know that when BTC rises and ALT down its likely that traders will benefit from the increase in BTC, don't worry but you must to get the benefits from all.

it is the altcoin creation trend that has shaped in the past couple of years that has led to this type of situation in the market. for years the only altcoins we keep seeing is altcoins that are created with one purpose and that is to be pumped and dumped. so it is obvious that nobody has any faith in their future when it comes to long term and in comparison to bitcoin. they all dump them to come back to bitcoin immediately because nobody wants to miss out.

Well I'm not really good in trading and I know in myself that I'm not professional to this but I want to share my opinion and also learn from all of you, I think the reason why the the other cryptocurrency are not increasing is that most of the users are focused on investing to Bitcoin because of its trend. actually not all alts in the market always follow after when there's a progress in bitcoin , especially nowadays which is more altcoin holders always jump to bitcoin and other certain alts just to gain more profits . You are right about this,usually bitcoin prices going up means altcoins ride on this wave... but this could be because a pump is only going into btc...likely a USD/BTC set off which is not spilling out to altcoins at the moment.

Nope not only bitcoins price is increasing but some of the altcoins are also increasing without noticing them,  if bitcoin pumps most of the altcoins follow while some goes the opposite way.

Often BTC and alts move together, especially if the movement is over a long period of time. However one thing to note is that it is usually BTC that starts the move, with alts following after a short delay. So often if we see BTC go up, it can mean alts are about to go up too, and if we see BTC go down, it can means alts will also fall.

Most altcoins have higher inflation rate than bitcoin so btc is more likely to increase in value and it is more trusted.  Ethereum has been doing well the past few weeks.  The real loser is ripple, no one seems to be interested in it anymore.

When Bitcoin price increases the price of altcoin increases but not in all cases because the decision of most arbitrage crypto traders is what determine the trend of altcoin market. The things are depending on the traders. Because they just want to make a profit by trading and they try to use many ways for profit. sometimes buy alt and when they see that the price of bitcoin will rise then they try to sell their crypto with right USD value. Investors are really getting smarter and no qualms whatsoever to dump their altcoins and go to bitcoin in the last 24 hours. A bold move but I'm not surprised. This has been practice before and will continue as one strategy to make more money out of this ecosystem.

Sometimes bitcoin rises before other coins, and this can be the sign of a big bull market incoming, with alts starting to increase in price sometime after bitcoin does.
It is not something to worry about. If new money starts coming into crypto, then bitcoin is the gateway, which is why we see btc rising first and then alts afterwards as people diversify.

Outside tether and some other few coins,  I don't think that people are pulling out of altcoin to bitcoin.  As at this 7 am that I checked prices the market capitalization has add around 2 billions dollars since yesterday night and this funds came from fiat currency.  It is good we understand that we are in bullish sentiment and people are jumping into the market from fiat community.  I think other coins are going to benefit from the bitcoin when bitcoin started to make some corrections on it ways up.

Today's very surprising, Bitcoin price rise 3,54% and the prices touch $6300. However this increase was not followed by some altcoins. I think this is good trend and i hope this is sign of bull.

That is why we cannot predict what will happen with the cryptocurrency later. Perhaps, we already saw when bitcoin price increase, some altcoin has following to increase too but this time was different. The increasing of bitcoin price just push the altcoin to go down and many of them still going down until now.

But I still optimistic that the altcoin will be back to increase and will follow bitcoin price. We need to be patient for a while, and perhaps, we need to let bitcoin price increase to a new price level, and then, the altcoin will start to increase and break the higher price. The price for bitcoins will surely affect the price for all other altcoins. If we see now, as the price has already reached $6000 there are a number of peoples who would sell their altcoins to contribute towards bitcoins and hold bitcoins in these bull markets. This will actually make the price for other altcoins go down as there will be more sell orders then buy orders but it could be expected vice-versa soon when the price for bitcoins will settle on the peak. Once the price for bitcoins is on the peak and more stable then peoples would again start putting their money into the altcoins which will then make the price for altcoins go up.

It does not matte at all... If it is the start of another bull run, the sooner or later most coins will rise. If you sell for btc just because of that, you may make a loss.

AFAIK, most value depend on supply and demand.
But when bitcoin increase most alt will remain same or decrease because they are adjust their value for crypto.
So if alt also increase, it means the demand also increase like bitcoin at the moment !

Prices would not drop if peoples started to move their BTC into Altcoins. This might hike up the prices for the altcoins. We have already went through a bull market in 2017 so we could expect the same to go on with this year too. There are some similarities which bitcoins are been showing us exactly same as they did in the early 2017 before the price for bitcoins crossed $15000.

This is the bitcoin price that needs to be achieved this year because $10,000 is a very difficult price to overcome because many barriers are waiting ahead. When we compared the price growth in percentage then the most of cryptourrencies might have grown the same value in the fastest if you see Bitcoin is the only coin is increasing it's just because of its expensive value so don't just see it, just see in the form of percentage to get the exact price growth on all the preferences.

I think the development of the crypto currency or altcoin depends on the investors themselves, maybe the price of bitcoin is increasing because of the many interests of investors who invest in the crypto currency itself, the crypto market price depends on the investor itself

We might also consider that thing but the most important is that we saw Bitcoin moves differently and I may think that altcoins will follow in the coming days. Exactly investors have the guts to invest with Bitcoin alone and investing with altcoins will be their second option only.

if i can said this green market is the beginning from bullish trend,
so, usually when the bull coming up, bitcoin price will spike up first, and a lot of people who hold altcoins will move their money from altcoins to bitcoin, thats why a lot of altcoins down in the beginning, but when the marketcap stable, everything will green my friend

If we compare charts it gained about 3000 USD in just 25 days but it dumped about 700 USD in 1 day. So, mostly the funds are going in out to BTC only for now, but definitely, some alts are showing ups with bitcoin.

I see a lot of opinions about Bitcoin increased but Altcoins did not increase. We can look at the market from yesterday until today most Altcoins have increased like Bitcoin so I think that the Altcoins will also increase or decrease like Bitcoin.

I began to think like op because before when bitcoin is bullish almost the whole cryptocurrencies market will be bullish and vice versa but now the whole thing has changed and we just need to start reviewing what is really happening in other to be able to invest along. I have been holding some tokens and there values keep going down when bitcoin is growing.

With the Bakkt's announcement of testing its futures contract by July 22 and with Facebook Globalcoin's rolling very soon. The market has been increasing that affected bitcoin in the best way that we want. It is not bitcoin only that is increasing lately but also altcoins are increasing. This is a domino effect that happens to the market. The price of bitcoin is re-testing again to $8800 and we're very much surprised that it has quickly moving again back to its support.

I think despite only the price of bitcoin is increasing, there is still a positive side of this which is you can still invest on the good and cheap altcoins. I believe that the altcoins will still follow through in the next few months to bitcoin and that is the time where looking for something to invest is hard because the prices are going up.

at the moment ? yes , i see that bitcoins value is now recovering again but i dont see any coins that does the same . its already given that other coins takes some time to follow up  .

eth is kinda bit stable and eth takes take over a week or two before it gets pumped after we witnessed the pumped of btc last month  ( may 2019 )  . recently litecoin is making the headlines hot  . im pretty sure that other alts ( top alts ) will soon to follow   . patience is the key!

indeed the current situation of bitcoin is undergoing a steady increase, but besides that also the increase in bitcoin is offset by a decline as well, so the increase in bitcoin cannot last long, whereas the current altcoin condition we can see is getting worse, so it is different from the bitcoin situation.

what do you mean in bad condition? maybe you can clarify in more detail. because if you look at market movements today, some altcoins are following the growth of bitcoin. even though it has decreased afterwards I think it still has a good response, because some pumps like this can increase trading quite quickly.

I think this have alot to do with the ban of US users from using binance.  Many US investors are now cashing out from altcoin and migrating to bitcoin. Hence the increase of bitcoin

More people started to support Bitcoin and some information about useless altcoins started to appear. It could also affect the price of the cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin is in great demand while tokens are losing popularity.

I believe Bitcoin is the highest value of digital currency so in order to rise the value all kinds of coins out in market. It should be supported first the bitcoin in boosting investment whether in long term or short as long it used so that it will smoothly follow the altcoins to increase. The increase is usually base on kind of coin how really affect or demand.

IMO it may affect slightly but not really that great to move the price of Bitcoin. Chinese know what they were doing if someone is likely to provoke on them then they may have to return the favor too. I don't know why the US made an exchange that is only for US citizens only it sounded like a racist to me.

I think the US just wants to make its financial condition safe without money from China so that US state finances can be more coordinated, and the US could also limit money from China maybe they are also afraid if US money is hit by inflation from China.

I think that soon Bitcoin will provoke the growth of altcoins. Unlike Btc, for the growth of altcoins, projects must release updates every time. The team must constantly work on the project. While Btc has long won first place. And because of the bear market, some of the projects just calmed down in anticipation of better times.

The time will come that altcoins will grow, and it will happen if bitcoin continues growing.
If you follow the trend in the past, you'll realize that it's the same or similar trend that is happening now.

The usual is, when bitcoin pump, altcoins will dump, and we've seen that in the overall performance of altcoins, but time
will come when bitcoin are heavily pumped, altcoins will be alive and will pump again.

Actually, I do not see a recovery in the cryptocurrency market.  Indicators of Bitcoin and other coins that are in the ranking are improving, and all other cryptocurrencies only show cons.

I agree with your views, several altcoins are on uptrend like litecoin which having its second halving this coming August. The bnb coin has already reached several all-time highs and will further reach more in the coming days. Newly listed coins like ONE and Matic are also made several gains in the last few days so I believe that many altcoins are also gaining. Majority of the users seem to be focused only on bitcoin uptrend and they did not notice that several altcoins are also going up.

Bitcoin was known as the leading asset in crypto curriencies and recently it tend to pump up immensely profitable that shown huge potential to recover fastly. Some altcoins has started to follow the trend of bitcoin, lets just optimist and positive that its growth will continue to exceed bounteously.

for now we just need to wait. Bitcoin price increases since the beginning of the year from $ 4000 to current prices are really very high. Too bad that doesn't affect the prices of other altcoins. this might happen because of the sudden increase and news that only benefits bitcoin. we just need to wait until the time for the altcoin to grow.
