Title: Ban Appeal - Roboabhishek
Post by: Alt_robo on May 14, 2019, 07:40:09 PM
Since my account got banned I was looking through different posts on the forum in Lending section, Marketplace, and Meta but unable to post & making trades.

I'm clear that I made a massive mistake on my side due to which my account got banned, and I do regret it, Ban of my account had an enormous toll on my business.
In terms of unable to profit from lending service (which was going very well tbh) & off forum deals which were Bitcointalk trust based.

-I've held many On & Off forum deals & never had any ill intent to scam anyone.
-Got rid of scammers who defaulted on the loans which were of no collateral thus preventing them from pulling a big scam on someone else.

As I've previously said if it's possible I would like to be back on the forum.
And I'll accept whatever penalty is imposed on me since the act I committed was utterly unethical.

If I remain banned and insured that the ban won't be lifted, Then I'll leave and will not look back.
But if I get unbanned, then I can ensure that mistake such as this will never be committed from my side.

I'd just like to say to any mods who might read this that Roboabhishek has earned my respect as a good member of the forum, and I believe I've done deals with him in the past that went smoothly (not that that counts for much as far as a ban appeal goes).  When he got banned I was actually shocked and a bit crestfallen when I read about it.

There are tons of ban appeal threads in Meta right now, and most of them are being written by members who've done nothing for the forum or for anyone but themselves in the form of bounty hunting.  Roboabhishek is actually a decent member, and in my humble opinion I think he ought to be given a second chance, even if it means he wouldn't be allowed to wear a signature for however long.

It might do the forum some good to have him back, and I think he's probably learned his lesson by now and won't repeat the behavior that got him banned in the first place.

Thank you, Pharma for the effort you've put for me.

I'm sure if I get unbanned then behaviour such as this will not be repeated from my side I've said that before and I'm saying it again.
As I've said in past even if it means to lose my signature forever or temporary depending on the judgement of higher authorities of the forum in order to come back to the community.

I feel sorry for you, however, you do realise that, when banned, you're only allowed to make 1 thread discussing your ban. As soon as you post outside this 1 thread (or make a second thread), you're evading your ban.

Offcourse, this is a grey area, since both threads are created for the sole purpose of appealing your ban... However, strictly speaking, at this moment you're breaking the rules... Wouldn't it be better to close this thread and bump your original appeal?

Don't be sorry it's not your fault but thank you for your concern, Posting outside meta is considered ban evasion.

If you think that a ban should be ended, make your case in a new topic from a "good for the forum as a whole" perspective.

Is it at least possible to get a reply from global mod or admin regarding ban appeal.

A response to your old appeal thread by a global mod https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5079217.msg48417891#msg48417891

Alt_robo, I just read your previous thread (you didn't really need to open a new one), and you actually got a few answers there from global mod (he use his alt account hilariousetc).

Outsourcing posts now?  ::) Another one for the bingo card. Blows my mind how lazy people can get here. All you have to do to earn a fairly decent amount of money here is make some posts but apparently even that is too difficult for a lot of people. Regardless, it doesn't matter who did the plagiarism or who you're trying to blame it on as the matter of the fact is that account was caught copying content. You should have taken better care of the account and certainly not trusted some random person to make posts for you but you've paid the ultimate penalty for that. If we were going to give you a pass because you claim someone else made those posts for you then everybody would use that excuse but it's certainly not one we're going to accept.

I see you claim that plagiarized posts have come from another user who is writing posts for you, but it will hardly be a good excuse that mod/admin gives you new chance. We know that one user who gets perma-ban is claimed that he bought his account after plagiarism has been committed, and admin intervened and remove the ban. In your case, it was really thoughtless that someone else wrote you posts without you checking them out before posting.

I have personally received several offers from some forum users to write posts for me in exchange for compensation, but it never occurred to me to accept something like that.

I totally understand what you mean and I'm glad that you didn't accept their offer, I just wish I had that sense at the time.

Also, Please have a look at this. **This was made after hilarious's reply

If you think that a ban should be ended, make your case in a new topic from a "good for the forum as a whole" perspective.

Also, As I said before I never intended to spam and admitted that it was solely mistaken on my side but it's up to the forum's admin to decide if this mistake is forgivable or not.
And all I'm asking for is a reply from admin or global moderator
