Title: Which countries are more friendlier to crypto?
Post by: Abiky on June 07, 2019, 08:11:14 PM
With tightening regulations from the US and some countries worldwide, the growth of crypto and Blockchain technology is becoming somewhat slow. We've seen how the SEC has been against ICOs all along, while some people in the government have proposed to ban privacy-oriented cryptocurrencies. In other countries like China and India, they've been proposing to ban Bitcoin in its entirety which could have a huge impact on crypto's growth within such areas.

Why is why, I'm curious to know which country is the friendliest to crypto nowadays? Or, which countries are more friendlier to crypto than others?

There was once a site called "Bitlegal" which showed the countries of the world, that were friendly to crypto and Blockchain in general. However, it seems to be widely inaccessible these days.

Nonetheless, what are your thoughts about this? ???

Here is the list of the most friendly crypto together with the reason why. A Complete List of Bitcoin Friendly Countries (https://99bitcoins.com/bitcoin-friendly-countries/). That is the latest article I got on the internet.

Most of those friendly country open their jurisdiction for cryptocurrency start-ups.  They either impose lower tax or have a light regulation on them.

Also here is some list where Bitcoin is legal and illegal (https://www.investopedia.com/articles/forex/041515/countries-where-bitcoin-legal-illegal.asp), adding the link of an article about The Most Crypto Friendly Countries for Investors.

Singapore and Japan are the most cryptocurrency friendly countries as far as I know, even binance is going to launch fiat to crypto exchange sote in Singapore soon. Not sure about the regulation on those countries but it is good to have some restrictions to control the usage of cryptos from bad activities.

Switzerland. Thanks to a loyal tax policy and ample opportunities to use cryptocurrency as a means of settlement, a number of well-known crypto projects have already been registered in Switzerland. Individuals can freely use cryptocurrency for mutual settlements. Financial transactions involving cryptocurrency are not taxed.

Maybe in this world there are some countries that are quite friendly with the world of cryptocurenncy examples such as Japan Germany Russia and so on but I am more convinced that Japan that is friendly with the world of rubber cryptocurenncy has legalized bitcoin and the creator of bitcoin comes from the sunrise country, so in my opinion Japan  more friendly to the world of cryptocurenncy

Excellent decision made in Belarus.  Pay taxes is not necessary, full legalization.  Do you want to mine or sell, in general, everything connected with it.

I think countries like Japan, Singapore and Malta are friendly when it comes to cryptocurreny at large. In those countries, there is no ban on any crypto activities, the countries gives free hand to her citizens to participate in ICO.

Singapore is crypto friendly. Countries which do not place very high restrictions or tax on crypto related platforms especially exchanges are more friendly to crypto generally. Initially, India was crypto friendly not until presently that rumors have it that they imposed very harsh laws against crypto.

Thanks for sharing this useful list of sites, mate. They give a detailed explanation of which countries are friendly to crypto and which are not. Luckily, I'm in the US which is a country with a friendly stance towards crypto. The growth here of Bitcoin and Blockchain technology, has accelerated a lot, and adoption has been widespread across several states. Still though, I don't agree with "BitLicense" extreme regulations for crypto businesses within the NY state, but I believe that there's room for improvement.

What matters is that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies stay as regulatory-compliant as possible, in order to survive in the mainstream world. If governments are able to tax crypto successfully, then there should be no reason to ban it. Sooner or later, restrictive countries like China and India will realize this, paving the way towards the growth of Blockchain technology within such areas.

I believe that if China takes a positive stance towards crypto, things will change for the better. After all, China is the epicenter of Bitcoin mining. The Chinese government could easily tax crypto, while implementing its own regulations.

Nonetheless, the world is realizing that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are essential alternatives towards the current Fiat system. Hence, it's only a matter of time before all of the world's countries accept crypto and Blockchain technology as a legal alternative to our traditional economy. Just my opinion :)

There are many countries that are friendly with cryptocurrency. Japan, Singapore, Switzerland, some parts of the United States of America, Russia, Germany are the countries that give permission to deal in cryptocurrency to name a few. While many more countries are becoming friendly with cryptocurrency, some are coming harder on it. Like India is considering 10 years of imprisonment for dealing in cryptocurrency.

Yes but still they have been restricted it. Based on the list, I think Malta is indeed the most friendly on crypto. This isnt shocking cause even their government are relying on the profits of it. Their system is well accepted and I think its good.
It is a place related to gambling right?

Having restrictions over the bad thing actually create good opinion about cryptos to the people,so it is not too bad to have some regulations even from the crypto friendliest country because they accepted it and try to make it as best possible payment system.

I agree with other countries, aside from the US. They're still struggling classifying crypto as asset or currency. Thus, there's no big, legit US based cryptocurreny exchange. The US are very astute in doing business but they're letting their huge exchange fees on the Chinese's pockets.

As far I know, aside from Singapore and the Philippines, other South East countries remain neutral on cryptocurrency although they may show interest on blockchain. If I'm not wrong, even Philippines' legend Manny Pacquiao took part in marketing process of GCOX exchange's ICO. (https://www.ccn.com/boxing-legend-manny-pacquiao-latest-celebrity-to-turn-ico-promoter). Good news is, South East countries mostly neither ban or support crypto, which means their citizens still can trade on exchanges.

In my own opinion, the first is Switzerland owing to their friendly regulations, most upcoming blockchain projects are moving over their to launch.
Secondly, Malta looks good too as most blockchain projects are there already.
On the other hand, Japan and Singapore are also okay for blockchain projects as their regulations are friendly too.

In my opinion, Switzerland and Malta have always been the most loyal to cryptocurrencies, as in these countries they understand perfectly well that cryptocurrency has quite a lot of potential in the financial market. My personal opinion on this issue is that soon the majority of countries will legalize cryptocurrency and create favorable conditions for its development.

Japan is a check, as we all know that they have been one of the friendliest country that has adopted crypto. Many stores has accepted bitcoin as payment and I think there are also some altcoins like Monacoin(?).
Korea, there is South and North Korea. We knew also that there are large exchanges on South Korea so it can be a judgment that they are friendly but about North Korea, I'm not sure but there were reports that Jim Kong-Un has a lot of bitcoin (or it's just a made story).

I think the first country to make my list as the most friendly is Switzerland, this is because of their friendly regulations. Another country is Malta, many blockchain projects are already there but Switzerland tends to offer more.
The last in my list is Japan, as they are trying their best to accommodate blockchain projects.

Malta is already doing well and offering a good ground for blockchain projects. Singapore isn't left out too, as I have come in contact with most projects there doing arguably well. But there is one country which is taking others by surprise and that is Switzerland. Switzerland government regulations on blockchain projects is highly friendly and suitable for growth of the crypto space.

European countries are much more friendlier to crypto than anywhere else. The countries with opressive governments that uses force control to rule over their citizens are against the crypto and made it illegal. Crypto brings freedom and privacy which frightens an tyrrant government as they fear people would revolt against them when they feel what real freedom is.

Well it depends on the law environment of the country, some countries especially in some part of the world is not really concerned about what's happening in the Crypto space, not because they are sure that they won't be affected by it, but because they are not aware of it's Working and how it's going to bring the government system down to the ground, so they allow users operate freely without being disturbed by any agency.

Where not many people use cryptocurrency, there is a lot of loyalty. Since they do not pay attention to those who do it. In Ukraine, for example, when changing the president, I see that they want to do the state in the smartphone and on the basis of the blockchain. It is very cool and gives confidence in moving on.

1. US
Because many crypto developers are from the US, even the most bitcoin ATMs are in the US and see via coinatmradar: https://coinatmradar.com/countries/

2. Switzerland
In my opinion, this country is fully supportive of crypto, how can it not, in this country all businesses are legalized by crypto and even supported by the government. Not only that, tax payments in Switzerland can also use crypto.

3. Japan
This country is not much different from Switzerland, the Japanese government legalized crypto and supported it. There have been many business entities providing crypto payment services and this country has a crypto exchange that has been recognized by the government.

The SEC thing is true is that I think they should make it sooner, because that will protect more investors from losing money to scam projects. As for crypto-friendly countries I think Korea and Japan

While the SEC aims to protect investors, it's been somewhat restricting the growth of the crypto industry within the US. Regulations are extremely tight, preventing businesses and startups to increase the adoption of Blockchain technology. We've seen how the SEC has targeted Kik lately with its issued tokens that are claimed to be a utility token by the company (whereas the SEC says otherwise). This provides confusion and limits the growth of the ecosystem, as companies and startups cannot provide a proper definition of a security or utility token.

Still though, I believe that regulations will improve over time making the crypto space a much better place. Comparing the world's top countries, the US seems to be the most friendliest to crypto. I believe that the UK and Malta comes next, as they've been supporting the growth of Blockchain technology in every way. As for China, it may have been restrictive towards crypto and Blockchain in general, but it could change its stance in the future.

In the end, I believe that all of the world's countries will become friendly to crypto one way or another. If crypto can be easily taxed and regulations enforced, then governments would have nothing to fear. Hence, more countries should be recognizing crypto as legit within the next 5 to 10 years from now. Just my opinion :)

i cant say that Philippines is the friendliest but atleast one of crypto friendly country
because goverment is not against in crypto and there some website where you can pay using crypto for your daily needs.

Crypto friendly countries include Japan, Singapore, Vietnam and Malta. Those countries are not strict about dealings in cryptocurrency. They give free hand to their citizens in order to participate actively in cryptocurrency.

In my little knowledge I think the first and foremost is Switzerland. I have read many news and analysis both in whitepapers and otherwise stating that the regulations about crypto in that country is friendly, thereby making most blockchain projects to launch there. Another good and friendly country is Singapore which is followed by Malta, these countries also have friendly regulations for cryptocurrency projects.

Probably the Philippines. The regulation here is not strict and so far, there are no taxes in it. There are also companies that accepts Bitcoin now and a company like coins.ph that helps people store Bitcoin easily.

Malta and Singapore are crypto friendly, Estonia too. Most countries place strong restrictions to crypto because of insecurity posed by crypto and also the fact that many people will drift from taxes with crypto. They also fear that crime rate will increase, so they try to protect their citizens by placing those restrictions. I think China and USA so far have placed greatest crypto restrictions, but crypto still booms in those countries.

I assume my country (Indonesia) is friendly enough for crypto sustainability. even though in my country crypto has not received support from the government but crypto users can remain calm, crypto here only gets small obstacles and does not last long, and most importantly those obstacles never make users in unfavorable conditions.

I would say my country, Estonia. We are very digitalized and our elections run on a blockchain technology system. It is quite easy to get a crypto license and you can register as an e-resident to start your own company at the EU.

Malta seems to be the most supportive country for cryptocurrency because recently its government has always encouraged people to use crypto to store personal assets and to fund new blockchain projects that are currently in town this market . I have been to this country several times and they are really friendly when it comes to crypto. We've seen how the SEC has been against ICOs all along, while some people in the government have proposed to ban privacy-oriented cryptocurrencies.

SEC is for 100 years against unregulated crowdfunding. Their interest is to give investors some security. With their infrastructure they try to weed out scammers that would take your money and run away. Such things rarely happened in past. With ICO it happened a lot. So they SEC guys damn worth their salaries.

Oh an d there will be in every government some people that will want to ban something. But none or rare governments will actually ban opaque ledger cryptocurrencies. Opaque ledger cryptocurrencies have a big use case to governments.

Good point. If you see it that way, it's actually not that bad at all. But in some sense, it could be troublesome for libertarians and anarchists as the measures imposed by governments tend to be more restrictive than usual. As for me, I believe that regulation is the way forward for crypto to become used legally in every way. Regulatory-compliance for crypto might not be perfect nowadays, but it's doing great especially within the US.

As for other countries that are friendly to crypto and Blockchain in general, Malta seems to be the second in place (after the US). Binance exchange moved its headquarters there some time ago, as well as some other Blockchain startups. This is good for crypto within such country, as it will flourish in many ways without restrictions. In the case of China, it's somewhat more restrictive than the US, but slowly becoming inclined towards crypto and Blockchain technology. Considering that China is the "mainland" of Bitcoin mining, it could be highly beneficial to the crypto ecosystem with their full support of the same.

Nonetheless, it's hoped that more countries join the revolution in order to transform our economy, and most of all, our society for the better. Just my opinion :)

maybe because the people and government are more open to new developments in this era so they want to accept crypto.
and in my opinion China will also immediately accept to accept crypto.

Without a doubt, developed countries more friendlier to crypto than those within the third world. They embrace technology in every way, which are quite progressive in this regard. As for third-world countries, it seems nearly impossible for them to accept crypto as a legal form of payment, mostly because they lack the technological infrastructure to support them. Still, people seem to find a way to use crypto even if some countries are restrictive to it.

In Venezuela, many people are using Bitcoin and Dash, despite being illegal in the country (as far as I know). Given that their national currency has experienced high inflation rates, they're resorted to other means which are ideal as a store of value. Perhaps in the future, countries which have troubled economies, will accept crypto as a legal form of payment. No one knows what will happen in the future.

Despite this, there are many countries nowadays which are quite friendly to crypto after all. Only a small few, are restrictive towards crypto, but they're starting to change their minds (like China) as they're realizing that crypto is too big to fail. Nonetheless, the US, the UK, Japan, and Malta, seem to be the most friendliest countries towards crypto within the mainstream world. Just my opinion :)

I wasn't aware of that. Still, it's good to know that another country is starting to embrace crypto and Blockchain tech in every way. This would allow the industry to continue growing until it's too big to fail. Actually, Bitcoin is the most popular and heavily-supported cryptocurrency of the world. The number of countries which are friendly towards it, are much higher that we've thought. Of course, there will always be opposition from some countries (like India and China), but time will come when they'll accept crypto no matter what.

The benefits of accepting crypto as a legal form of payment are too hard to ignore from governments worldwide. If they can easily tax it, then there shouldn't be any issues regarding the use and promotion of cryptocurrencies within their territory. But, this will take some time, as crypto is just starting to blossom.

Nonetheless, countries like the USA, Japan, Malta, Singapore, UK, and nearly every other developed country seem to be extremely friendly towards cryptocurrencies. The USA seems to be the one with the most tightening regulations for crypto, but it's been supporting crypto's growth every step of the way. At least, other countries are more flexible than the USA in this regard. Just my opinion :)

I don't know about Korea, but Japan is one of the few countries that does a lot for the cryptocurrency in its own country, and I would like to highlight China

South Korea is well-known to be friendly towards crypto as well. Japan too, as well as, most countries in the EU and America. Some countries even created their own cryptocurrency (like Venezuela with its Petro coin). This means, that they've shown interest in the development of the crypto and Blockchain sector in general. The world's changing at a fast pace, where it's necessary to adopt the latest trends in technology or be left behind.

While third-world countries are limited in technology, some of them have adopted crypto by their own. Venezuela is one of those countries, as well as, Brazil. As Banks study the benefits of the Blockchain, they could make use of it in order to eliminate physical cash for good.

Nonetheless, the number of countries which are restrictive towards crypto seem to be lesser over time. Russia had once been against crypto, but now its changing its stance in some ways. China has done the same thing, and it's only a matter of time before India follows. Eventually, worldwide countries would accept crypto as a legal form of payment as they would be able to tax it. Since most popular cryptos like Bitcoin and Ethereum are transparent, it's easier for governments to track down transactions like never before. But, this may take some time until it becomes a reality. Just my opinion :)

It is very likely IDAX is a scam but the project accusing them should be checked as well, they harboring them until CMA came out to expose them, team like migranet and xcrypt new the kind of exchange IDAX is and they also agree to the SOLD OUT remark which reverse was the case (deceiving investors with such remark) (SOLD OUT)
Who is to blame the project team or idax?

I think the answer is Malta and south korea, I'm in the habit of promoting Asian projects this days simply because they are more addicted to the technology and their adoption rate is marginal compare to the rest of the world

Based on what I have been hearing and according to this report : https://medium.com/%C3%A6ternity-ventures/top-8-crypto-friendly-countries-e6bbf90e8161 below are the list of top eight countries:

Malta — the Blockchain Island.
Liechtenstein — the Blooming crypto hub.
Japan — the Pioneering technological wonder.
Switzerland — the Crypto Valley.
Gibraltar — the Crypto Rock.
Estonia — the Baltic crypto power.
Barbados — the Caribbean Crypto-paradise.
Slovenia — small country with solid crypto plan.

My country is Indonesia and i think enough to provide easy cryptocurrency transaction. Although it can not be used as currency in a merchant but there is a Local exchanger and can buy a crypto with fiat money
There are so many countries with such local exchanges, but that does not mean that the whole system of that country favours the existence of cryptocurrency.
If a country does not yet have policies that support the propagation of cryptocurrency, then it means it is not yet in support of it. So it needs to be made formal.

If you look at the numbers, you would see that a huge number of crypto users belongs to North America and this is because these countries like Canada and the US have been pretty friendly towards crypto. Romania is another country that is very safe and secure when it comes to investment in crypto and in blockchain technologies. You could read about other countries on safety index page.

Thank you for sharing this list. It would be a great help especially when some people enjoy Crypto as well as travelling to other places. I hope that every country will be friendlier in the near future. Crypto is not quite different to digital currency but better than them so it would be nice if they will give chance to crypto.

That's certainly true, mate. A large number of users belong to North America simply because the USA is the most friendliest country in the world towards crypto and Blockchain technology. Their regulations may be fierce, but at least they have prevented many scams and criminal activity within their territory. In contrast, countries that are too restrictive such as China and India, have virtually a small number of users supporting crypto.

It all comes down to the government's stance towards crypto whenever they fully support it or not. Given that slowly but surely, many worldwide countries have been accepting crypto as a legal form of payment, there's nothing stopping Blockchain from growing within the mainstream world. Eventually, countries that are restrictive towards crypto like China and India, will change their mind into supporting this revolutionary form of money once and for all.

Despite this, it's safe to say that the number of countries which are friendly to crypto is more vast than we've ever imagined. Most countries in the EU are friendly towards crypto, as well as, other developed countries within America like the USA and Canada. It's only a matter of time before third-world countries join the movement, in order to support crypto and Blockchain technology in their entirety.

Nonetheless, I believe that the USA is the most friendliest country to crypto followed by other countries in Europe like Malta and the UK. Time will tell us whenever it will stay that way or not. Just my thoughts ;D

Singapore is crypto friendly. Countries which do not place very high restrictions or tax on crypto related platforms especially exchanges are more friendly to crypto generally. Initially, India was crypto friendly not until presently that rumors have it that they imposed very harsh laws against crypto.

You're spot on with Singapore, I will also add Japan, maybe Australia too. Meanwhile India has turn full cycle on crypto. Infact totally against crypto as things stand. Thus making me weary of any Indian run projects in the crypto space.

Japan has been known to be friendly to cryptocurrency. A few years ago, in Japan, I was able to make transactions at merchants using cryptocurrency. I think this is about the regulation of the government and the Japanese government providing leeway for regulation of cryptocurrency so that citizens understand cryptocurrency or blockchain

It looks like your country are still included on the country that puts crypto in the gray area too and me too, but singapore is the best country for crypto startup because its regulation is so easy compared with another country. Switzerland was another country too but it's a bit complicated for crypto company to be registered on Switzerland.

Based on my observation, I think the most friendliest nation to crypto are the european nations and some asian countries like singapore, japan, and indonesia. Most ICOs are actually originated in european countries and some famous exchangers are actually operated in singapore and japan. I think those nations are more open to the possibility of incorporating crypto into their society.

Japan is one of the most friendliest countries you could imagine. Knowing that NEM cryptocurrency has a lot of influence there, gives an indication of Japan's friendliness towards crypto. Japanese people seem to be very acquainted with the latest technologies. Which means that, they'll embrace new ones that are bound to change the world for the better (like Blockchain technology).

Usually any developed country is extremely friendly towards crypto. Only a small few countries like China and India have been against crypto, but that's bound to change soon. Russia was in the same stance as these countries, and now it has changed its mind. As long as crypto can be easily tracked and taxed by worldwide governments, then it'll be accepted as a legal form of payment.

The rest will depend on people's adoption within the mainstream world. Considering how viral Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies became in 2017, the whole ecosystem will continue to grow into a solid workhorse for the world. Once crypto is strong enough, then it could easily compete against Fiat in many ways.

Nonetheless, with countries' acceptance towards crypto, new merchants and businesses could make use of this exciting new technology. As Blockchain becomes scalable enough to handle large TPS, it'll become the true replacement of our traditional financial system. Just my thoughts ;D

Some countries are left with no choice than to just allow it to have its course. Some countries are seriously ridden with poverty and seeing that their citizens have gone for an alternative, that will help to reduce or eradicate it, they just simply allow it.

Those countries that still didn't accepting crypto, I think they should think about it again because it can be the greatest regret that they made if experts are right in their speculation of the value of bitcoin.

China is a semi crypto friendly country to me because they only support cryptocurrency in stance which they will only profit from it but they don't totally ban cryptocurrency there but there are some certain rules and restrictions involve in crypto trading or investment there.

As far as I know, mining Bitcoin is not illegal within China. That's why Bitmain has successfully established its business without restrictions. Of course, China has been concerned about ICOs and crypto trading. But nowadays, ICOs are a thing of the past where most countries don't need to worry about them. As long as crypto can be easily taxed, then I see no reason why they should ban it. China could see the opportunity this brings to it, adopting crypto and Blockchain technology every step of the way.

Speaking of China, the NEO blockchain seems to have strong ties with it. NEO, being a Chinese project, aims to bring a smart economy for the world. It hopes to collaborate with the Chinese government in order to establish digital identities across its Blockchain platform. This means, that slowly but surely, crypto is becoming friendly to even the most restrictive countries in the world.

Nonetheless, crypto seems to be highly friendly towards developed countries. If we were to categorize them in order, from the most friendliest to the most restrictive ones, then it would be as follows: Japan, UK, Malta, Singapore, and the US. As crypto improves over time, it'll become much faster and cheaper like never before. Such benefits will become attractive towards the eyes of governments worldwide, effectively embracing crypto and Blockchain tech like you've never imagined. Just my opinion :)

Although there are many countries now supporting the affairs of cryptocurrency and blockchain in their own way, there is a country I believes that stands out and that is Switzerland. Switzerland government regulations are friendly for the blockchain space thus the reason most upcoming blockchain projects are launching there. Another country is  Malta, their regulations too is friendly as there are already launched blockchain projects.

Nigeria is pretty friendly with crypto. The government of Nigeria has not laid down any laws regarding cryptocurrencies and Blockchain projects. The government is even yet to recognize blockchain technology in a meaningful way. So you can create a blockchain project and trade your cryptocurrencies without any fuss.

As far as I know since last 2017, south Korea is more friendlier with crypto. Although western countries been promoting cryptocurrency as their mode of payment transactions, more of asian countries now on development to establish good crypto community. South Korea has beem using crypto bitcoin for their basic payment transactions, and they're not very strict to that because people is very convenient to use bitcoin.

In my opinion, there are now many countries that accept the presence of crypto money, either as a means of payment or as an investment. This country is mainly in developed countries such as the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, etc.
Crypto's investment is currently progressing because digital trade is understood by the public and the government facilitates its use, it turns out to be very profitable.

Now indeed the progress of the cryptocurrency is very large. And I strongly agree that in Asia it is a friendly country with crypto. And year after year it will continue. In various European countries, crypto-friendly, like Ukraine & Switzerland, is one of them which I think is crypto friendly too. So now of course every country does not want to miss the blockchain technology.

There's a lots of countries who's now catering the service of crypto though it's still small numbers compared to the actual count but it's far better than what it is way back 2-5 years ago, we can say that there's already a lots of interest coming from different sectors and they are seeing the usage of this system maybe adding 2-5 year more we will see mass adoptions everywhere.

i think Russia is a friendly country for cryptocurrency, like we know many project are launched from this country and the goverment are supporting blockchain and cryptocurrency industry, and another country maybe China, australia, Japan, Estonia

It's good to know that Russia has started to support crypto, after being hostile towards it some time ago. I guess that they've realized the true potential of crypto and Blockchain technology, which led them to such decision. As we all know, most governments accept crypto mostly with the intent to tax it. Bitcoin, Ethereum, and most other cryptocurrencies with a transparent blockchain ledger will see the approval of most of the world's countries. However, that won't be the case with privacy-oriented coins like Monero and Grin, since it's becomes harder for governments to tax them at all.

Despite this, it seems that the number of countries that are friendly to crypto is growing each day. It's hoped that as Blockchain technology progresses, every country in the world will embrace it for the greater good. This will pave the way towards digital Fiat currencies powered by the Blockchain within the not-so-distant future.

Nonetheless, I believe that Japan and the US are among the most friendliest countries in the world towards crypto and Blockchain technology. The NEM cryptocurrency has been very promient in Japan (being used at a large scale), while Bitcoin and Ethereum has been used massively within the US. Which is why, developed countries have greater chances of accepting new technologies than those in the third world. Just my thoughts ;D

There are some countries that are very much friendly concerning crypto while some are strict and want to enforce regulations and related measures with other countries completely against it and all it stands for. So you could divide all countries into three different categories. Asia countries have accepted cyrpto currency like Japan, Korea with Switzerland and Canada also good with cyrpto.

I think Korea is the most friendly country to Cryptocurrencies right now, I wish my country was that conducive, my country is very indifferent to Cryptocurrencies because those in charge are old men and women who do.not even understand what Cryptocurrencies mean.

South Korea has been extremely friendly towards crypto lately. It shows us that developed countries are hugely interested in the next-generation technologies. Japan has also done the same, as well as, countries in the EU and America. Only a select few countries like India, China, and some third-world countries are against crypto and Blockchain tech in general. But that's about to change, as society becomes more interconnected and people adopt new technologies every step of the way.

Governments worldwide will realize the huge benefits Blockchain technology provide towards the economy, leaving them with no choice but to accept mainstream cryptocurrencies more thoroughly. Considering that most cryptos are transparent by design, governments can easily track & trace transactions either for taxation or detecting illegal activities.

Which is why, I believe there may be hope that someday China and India will become extremely friendly towards crypto. Among the countries that are friendly towards crypto, the most restrictive one seems to be the US. We've seen how the SEC has recently cracked down on ICOs and a few exchanges. This environment makes it unsuitable for crypto growth and development, as businesses and corporations try to comply with fierce regulations in every way. Some exchanges have even banned US customers from using their platform, because of how restrictive the US government has been towards crypto. Still though, the US is the country with the most crypto supporters which I believe that it will improve its regulations within the not-so-distant future.

Nonetheless, it's good to know that more countries are becoming friendly towards crypto. Before you know it, nearly every country in the world would accept crypto as a legal form of payment. Just my thoughts ;D

In my experience, probably Europe. It's weird though, because it's often easier to get crypto in countries where it's banned. This is because of little to no regulation, and the demand for it. In the US there are so many laws, it's always such a pain to sign up for an exchange, etc. In Africa I've heard it's pretty simple to get crypto because everyone uses it. As a US citizen, I would definitely say that Europe is better (not as many dumb laws relating to money laundering, etc.)

No they don't support use of Bitcoin and it's trading. People are just interpreting it in wrong way. They haven't banned but they only advice people out here to avoid trading of Bitcoin for the best.

There was a recent draft which included some penance to be included and ban but that also was reconstructed since committee members didn't supported it in majority.

China once made crypto popular with the high price of bitcoin at the time and made crypto well received by the public, somehow the Chinese government banned crypto in its country which made a significant price reduction. I myself don't know which country is the most friendly to crypto.

The president of the US may be against cryptocurrency, but most of the country is well supportive of the same. Everything will depend on US lawmakers as they devise laws that will allow the usage and growth of crypto within the US. So far, it's legal to use and support crypto as long as you pay your taxes and comply with the law. Comparing the US to other countries, it seems more strict than others. Still though, with proper regulatory guidance, the US could devise laws that will become as friendly as possible towards crypto.

Until that happens, Japan and Malta will be considered the most friendliest countries in the world towards crypto. Japan has been widely using crypto for a long time, where NEM has taken a large prominence there. On the other hand, Malta has been the home of Blockchain technology where most startups and companies (like Binance) have established their operations there.

In the end, more countries will begin accepting crypto as they realize their true benefits. Once they find a way to properly tax crypto, then they'll be sure to devise laws that'll benefit the whole ecosystem. Right now, China and India are not very friendly towards crypto but it could change over time. Anyhow, crypto will always prevail on oppressive countries because of its decentralized & distributed nature. Just my thoughts ;D

Despite the restriction by some countries, there are still citizens of those countries who invest in cryptocurrency. Although, if they are to come out openly that they invest in crypto, there must be approval, so as to become accredited investors or VC private investors. Also, some of them can still have their ways around it, perhaps by staying put with their friends from other countries, who might help them in purchasing any coin of  their interest while selling might be an easy process, depending on the exchange the coin is listed.
There are citizens of countries like US and China, who have dual citizenship. Such people have might decide to use the documents for any of the country they belong to, that does not have such restriction for the investment.

Agree. It's relatively hard to establish a Bitcoin node, or use the cryptocurrency to its full potential within these countries. This applies specially to China, as it's one of the most restrictive countries in the world. Despite some governments being picky about crypto and Blockchain tech in general, they've seem to be changing their stance recently. This is because they've been studying/researching how Blockchain technology works and how it could benefit them in the future. Once they get the "hang of it", I'm sure that they'll be more open to crypto and Blockchain within the long term.

Right now, I would prefer most countries within the EU as they're more open to crypto than the US itself. A good example of this is the island of Malta which is extremely friendly towards crypto. Even Binance has established its operations there, as the country has very friendly regulations for crypto startups and companies. Despite this, other countries could improve their regulatory-stance over crypto as they study the trend more deeply. The US, being one of the most powerful countries in the world, has had a large impact on crypto's growth within the mainstream world. If it becomes extremely friendly towards crypto, it could prove to be highly beneficial for the Blockchain industry.

Nonetheless, there are more countries that are friendly towards crypto than we've thought there would be. Most countries within Asia and America have already opened their doors towards the growth and longevity of the Blockchain industry in general. It should only be a matter of time, before restrictive countries like India change their mind as they accept crypto as a legal form of payment. In short, countries like Japan, Malta, Singapore, US, and South Korea seem to be the most friendly ones towards crypto within the mainstream world. Just my opinion :)
