retraces, do you mean that BTC reaches ATH? It is hard to believe that this will happen soon, for example, by the beginning of the Q4.
However, when Bitcoin is near ATH, I expect new investors to appear. Of course, many of them will buy BTC first. ->
Then they will pay attention to altcoins, which have great potential. ->
Someone will make 100500Xsss. ->
FOMO will attract even more money for altcoin.
But it will not be soon.

I think they will fall a bit but they'll be back stable, the thing is we have not seen some positive action on altcoin in general, so most likely it will not be affected. Bitcoin continues to rise but altcoin still not moving the way we want it to move, only few alts are rising but not good enough like the last bull run.
Maybe bitocin needs to rise more and we need more time to see bitcoin trading stable at a high price, probably a new ATH, therefore we should stay patient.

If the Bitcoin rebound now then altcoins will be down severely. But if the Bitcoin price touched the highest ever then altcoins will rise gradually and must give the profit of 50 times at least from here.

The prices of altcoins should i say it was depending on bitcoin development in crypto market, when bitcoin rising the price most of the time the altcoins also will be rising their prices because many investors are willing to buy altcoins for their alternative investment.

Bitcoin goes up so I think altcoin will also follow it even though it's slow, but bitcoin will be the parent of all coins, and today the price of bitcoin is very good.

It will rise as well as you can see most of the altcoins are always paired up with bitcoin so if the price of bitcoin increase and so the price of altcoin as well but not all of course if the project is a trash or no use of course the price of it will fall, the price of bitcoin has some effect to other coins but only few and not all.

should when bitcoin increases, altcoin can also experience a significant increase following the lead of bitcoin. bitcoin should be used as a guideline for altcoin and can be stabilized like last 2017 when bitcoin and altcoin influence each other.

what is "retrace" according to your mean? Your mean is to that Bitcoin will slow down and if that thing happens, what will Altcoin's upcoming happenings? I think at that time, Altcoin's season will start

what do you think?  But yes most likely that they will retrace with it since many of the altcoins are directly linked to bitcoin as a trade pair. But not all altcoins will follow that trace as most of them could have a strong support during the time of retracing

if bitcoin returns my estimate, the price will definitely go down because of course they will lose to this famous crypto. maybe there are some alts that aren't too badly affected, one of them is ethereum and of course a small fraction of bitcoin.

I think they will fall with BTC. Because too many couples are trading with BTC and we can see how important it is.
when it collapsed, other altcoins were the same. But in the future, I think investors will invest more in altcoins instead of investing in BTC.
when new startups are really becoming more profitable, they bring great ideas together with very good technology solutions.
Bitcoin will become increasingly outdated and do not meet the needs of consumers. they will give up BTC and buy more altcoins.

it depends on whether this speculation still applies in the crypto community this year, apart from that bitcoin dominates some of the largest market share of Altcoins to convert to Bitcoin. we can only hope that the increase in altcoins will be immediately visible in the next few days.

Altcoins are definitely gonna make a comeback somehow. Fact is that, Bitcoin drives the market all the time and hence whatever happens, ALTs will follow sometime later and i presume ALTs are gonna be awesome in the real bull season now that they've dumped real hard against Bitcoin pump. Atrend reversal if any will be huge. .real huge

Seeing from previous experience that when Bitcoin increases, altcoin will certainly increase even though the increase is not as fast as bitcoin. And vice versa, if Bitcoin has decreased, altcoin will have the same thing too. So that's what I often see when the crypto market goes down or rises.

I think bitcoin is the most famous and precious cryptocurrency in the market, and if ever bitcoin falls, all altcoins would also affected since the most valued coin would become priceless or even vanish, but somehow it depends i think, although some altcoins remain as what are they but i think their prices also affects.

I agree with your opinion, it all depends on the Altcoin developers themselves, because if their Altcoin is good in trading, they will definitely not disappoint investors and make their Altcoins destroyed at low prices in trading, all that may be just a matter of time to stabilize Altcoin itself.

Some theorize that when the BTC withdraws, it is when their technology is really too bad to handle multiple transactions at the same time. At that time, altcoins will be more popular and no one wants to keep the BTC anymore.
But for me, that will never happen. because decentralized markets always happen 2 things, pump and dump. That is the rule and very few investors focus on technology.
Therefore, the BTC cannot be killed and altcoins still cannot use the technology to get the No.1 position of the BTC.

Altcoin will still sit at the same place but when there were a panic sell and altcoin will get down at the same time with the bearish trend of the bitcoin. But it looks like the altcoin will stay with at this rate even bitcoin will be getting a huge dump again because altcoin is not yet increased.

Most probably the altcoins also will rise bitcoin bitcoin keeps follows the trend but some alts maybe buried in this bull run so don't keep every shit coins with the hope of increase, convert them into potential altcoin and bitcoin to make use of the market uptrend.

This is not yet altcoins season that we would expect altcoins to start increasing, and moreover, during Bitcoin retrace, most altcoins must surely fall back, because Bitcoin has been their strength and support, which is why we see that most top altcoins usually increases when Bitcoin increases, why they decrease when Bitcoin decreases too.

There is a difference between when Bitcoin retraces and when Bitcoin consolidates, when Bitcoin consolidated is when it goes sideways, and that I when you see most of these altcoins all surging like they have no brake, and that is the moment I am also waiting for too, in order to see if some of my old dead coins will pick up, and I think Bitcoin sideways will not occur this year.

I think Bitcoin and Altcoin on right line now, Bitcoin retrace that mean what i don't understand about that ??
Altcoin will go down when Bitcoin grow up and then will follow up too.
this is a normal condition, we can see the market last day when Bitcoin grow up altcoin will get down.
but wait arond 1 month it will get increase.

However, perhaps this is all happening. BTC market share ~ 60%. Prior to the launch of a large pump in 2017, BTC occupied 80% of the market. If this trend continues, the share of the altcoins will be greater for the next big pump. And it is likely that it will. Coins are developing, such coins as BNB are already working. This can attract investors from a fundamental point of view, and not just as speculation.

As at early this year, who would have imagined that btc will get to this point by now? That's the power of btc. I hope alts will follow too.
We have many speculations that the highest Bitcoin can go is around 5999 this 2019 and I was happy to hear that because I bought bitcoin in February at $3,345. I do believe that many of us do not expect Bitcoin to be where it is today but as Bitcoin always surprised us it moves the way it did these days. I see also much positive news about cryptocurrency yesterday and very soon that news is going to be transmitted into a good price. Altcoins are going to be up when Bitcoin get to overbought area.

people really need to start looking at the charts. i guarantee you that you can learn a lot of things by doing that, things that you will rarely or never learn on a forum by asking questions like this.
for example in this case looking at the history it clearly shows that each time bitcoin price fell, altcoins followed and most of them fell even faster and bigger than bitcoin.

If Bitcoin retraces altcoins will follow suit, while most will fall to a certian price and be stable others might fall far below. That has been the nature of the market. And most times, that's also an opportunity to buy promising coins because once altseason sets in or once they stablize there will be reasonable gains.

Nope alts will not follow the steps of BTC. We have seen enough since the rise of BTC form $3k, only the ones notable altcoins are following but all others that you wish because you have bags of it will not. You should be selling them for BTC because its the one thing that kept rising. Last 2017 is just a chance of your lifetime. You will have to wait for adoption that may take 10 years or so. If there is anything to hold, it must be BTC.

I can agree that not all will follow that movements but if you have a good trust with coins that you are holding then you can hold and wait, there's time for good Alts to make its move and bring good and real benefits for those holders who can take the risk and keeps on buying and holding while waiting for the value to pumped high.

If bitcoin returns to ATH, chances are that altcoin will always follow. We cannot deny that the influence of bitcoin prices is very high on altcoin movements to date. Maybe now it still seems slow for altcoins, but there will be time to get started soon.

Its not our trust to the coin of to the team that will make its price go moon. Its what the team does, if they don't do anything while BTC is also going up, those altcoin holders will just dump to profit along while BTC keeps rising. The altcoin they once own was worth $10k back then is not worth just $600, I'd rather be joining the fun in holding it for BTC and buy that altcoin again after the profit.

more precisely not at prices, but bitcoin with crypto market conditions. not always the growth of bitcoin followed by altcoin. maybe that's what we expected, but there is a problem that is happening in the market now where the pump is only for bitcoin, while the altcoin, it seems, is only silent with its slow movement.

As of now, there is no much movement from the altcoins even though bitcoin continues to be volatile and keeps on increasing it's price. But usually, altcoins' price depend on bitcoin. If bitcoin goes up, altcoins goes up. But that thing happens in the previous years that is why I find it hard to speculate now.

Its possible that ALT will rise but all that is useless if you do not take the opportunity when that happens, the benefits of investing in ALT are the same as BTC but the increase in BTC is so sharp and hard its not easy to predict.

Cryptocurrency is really not predictable, since what we have been experiencing, the rise of bitcoin causes a fall in Altcoin, Also the fall of bitcoin I think pushes the market down for altcoin, so I think when there is stability for bitcoin, prices of altcoin starts pushing up.

Not all the time.

You need to be specific with what alts you are investing but those benefits that you are saying may not happen for others. I guess the support for bitcoin now has been higher and there's a tendency that we will break $15k.

Dependent before but right now they are moving on the both sides. When bitcoin pumps, altcoins are just watching and when bitcoin dump, altcoins are not moving also. We hope for them to move together going up, its good to see green candles with your altcoins too, i think bitcoin will not dump much this year and its a good time for altcoins to follow bitcoin.

So what altcoin is in your list?
Maybe we could somehow find out if they have chances of really making a good pump.

Look at Ethereum now. That is one example of an altcoin being dragged by bitcoin up. There is no assurance in every altcoin out there. Some of them might stay at their price or worse will get lower as time goes by for their investors might just think of selling it and buying bitcoin instead.

Altcoin will rise again, and you don't have to worry. There is a time for bitcoin to stay calm in a while and give a chance for the altcoin to increase higher. We don't know when it will come, but it will happen later. Bitcoin price still up and down and maybe we will see the altcoin rises in the next months. So if you have altcoin and the value is down, you can prepare yourself for the time to see the altcoin to rises back. Many people are waiting for you, and they are still buying many altcoins because I guess we will get a big profit from the altcoin.

in my opinion altcoin will also experience price increases when the price of bitcoin is stable ... maybe now the price of bitcoin has not stabilized so that the price of the altcoin has dropped ... but I'm sure the price of altcoin has improved again after the price of bitcoin is stable
the state of bitcoin is now better, there should be a sign of an increase in altcoins, I am waiting for ethereum and other altcoins to run in their pumps, even though bitcoin is slow or stable.

bitcoin and altcoin is a cryptocurrency and has a difference and similarity where each gets a place that influences the crypto market world and is supported by investors who can raise the movement of bitcoin and altcoin and if one of them falls automatically others will be affected and I think that is normal in the market and will go up with buying and selling.

There is no one who will know with your concern. Just update the lates information, see some speculation and learn about the price movement of cryptocurrency itself. There is many trader who knows the price of coin will down and will up depent on the candle pattern and their analytic to the coin. More than that if you are not a trader you have to predict fundamentally, there is some coin who has good information. Such as LTC who will meet a halving on august or some companies who decided to choose some coins to be use for their payment system. That fundamenty can make an effect to the bull of the coin started.

We need to know that the current conditions are very different from last 2017, when bitcoin rose rapidly and altcoin followed quickly. This means that there is a balance caused by the movement of market conditions, but this time the altcoin is very slow. I hope altcoin follows in the footsteps of bitcoin, at least like the end of 2017. Only a hope, and not a prediction.

I actually doubt the achievement of 2017 will be repeated again. especially in market trading situations like now. 2017 the adoption of crypto was truly extraordinary, not only bitcoin but altcoin also experienced a great increase. but if you look at it now you might see an increase this year that is the property of bitcoin and some altcoins are actually experiencing a decline. expect market trends to change soon.

it seems that in this initial movement bitcoin and altcoin started to move simultaneously. unlike the growth that has ever happened to the market we see only the growth of bitcoin. now we can see altcoin starting to improve their prices, if this happens slowly and consistently then the growth that occurs will be stable between bitcoin and altcoin will not be left behind.

Actually, now the price of some good altcoin also increasing . So in long term ,their is a possibility of replacement of altcoin to bitcoin. Eventhough the price of altcoin is far away from bitcoin. The steady raise in the price of altcoin over a long period will replace the bitcoin. Hold your altcoin to get huge profit from it.

at the moment I think trading on altcoin is not good, only a few altcoins are experiencing an increase in price, although there are some altcoins that have less supply than bitcoin but the price still cannot beat bitcoin because it may be the influence of demand in the market more at bitcoin rather than altcoin.

Seeing from what happened before, that the price of Alts will always follow the price of Bitcoin, then if Bitcoin rises the price of Alts will also go up even though it is not as significant as the price of Bitcoin.

of course the price of altcoin will bleed continuously. I don't think now for altcoin because the dominance of the bitcoin market is increasing.

If past history is a good indication, then yes, it really follow BTC trends and that is why up to this point we haven't seen the price of altcoin market because BTC hasn't made its infamous bull ride. Majority of the alts keeps struggling day by day and some of them really die because no investors are willing to put their funds. Even ETH who has a good surge earlier at around $260 is struggling to get to $200 and it reflects the whole altcoin market trend.

Actually, now the price of some good altcoin also increasing . So in long term, their is a possibility of replacement of altcoin to bitcoin. Eventhough the price of altcoin is far away from bitcoin. The steady raise in the price of altcoin over a long period will replace the bitcoin. Hold your altcoin to get huge profit from it.

Can you specify what is the different potential that are increasing their prices in the market? When you absorb in the market almost all potential coins are decreasing their prices in the market to lower, which we don't know how long it is going to take for them to recover.

Some altcoin will still down even down too deep, but the other altcoin will not fall deeper. Everything can happen if bitcoin back to the higher price as in the cryptocurrency, every possibility can happen. But I am sure that altcoin will rise again, the altcoin will hit the highest price again like bitcoin. Maybe we will see some altcoin will start to increase higher after bitcoin increase. But we don't know which altcoin that will be down to the lower price because there is no sign to know that.

actually there are some alts that always following after bitcoin progress.  But on this current situation of the market we can't tell more due to some factors.  For me in my opinion probably only those alts that until now keep showing green has a potential to increase as well but we are still not sure if it will go further aslo when bitcoin retrace to the ath again because you know sometimes they make opposite direction after weeks.

it seems that in this initial movement bitcoin and altcoin started to move simultaneously. unlike the growth that has ever happened to the market we see only the growth of bitcoin. now we can see altcoin starting to improve their prices, if this happens slowly and consistently then the growth that occurs will be stable between bitcoin and altcoin will not be left behind.
At that initial stage, most altcoins that were moving along with bitcoin then are actually still moving along now too, probably you paid much more attention to top coins that made you conclude that all altcoins were moving, but most altcoins tat were below the top 100 were never responding to bitcoin surge, the more bitcoin gains dominance, the more those coins decreases in value, only the top coins like Ethereum and the rest are still the ones trying to man up and move along with bitcoin.

I actually don't expect all altcoins behave that way because they all are independent and they have their own different purpose, and the only time that I expect most of them to rise together is going to be during the bull run of bitcoin or altcoin season.

BTC should raise in price and be at least by 13k USD per coin. Once we will arrive to this point, BTC dominance should start to fall and altcoins would start raising. I hope of this scenario, because I am tired of alts that are still on the same spot.

For me bitcoin and altcoins is unpredictabe because as far as we know the people who buy bitcoin is anonymous and the number of people who buy and sell is unknown therefore you must know  the rising of bitcoin  and altcoin is unknown as will, also if your curious when you buy bitcoin in a low price and saw an altcoin high because that the number of people who are interested in that specific altcoin.

on my point of view this answer is wrong being connected to bitcoin that goes high and altcoin goes low and vice versa.  this are the possible connection of bitcoin and altcoin that I will simplify that I all way here that for me is proven right.(also to those people who are longer than in please do correct me those who are veteran here I will believe but for now here is my consideration.

1. when bitcoin rises altcoin will do BUT NOT ALL BECAUSE LIKE I said altcoin have different buyers.

not when bitcoin rises altcoin will go to the rocks.

The most unpleasant thing is that a lot of people are waiting for a similar scenario. The task of large holders to pick up as many coins and preferably for free. I doubt the repetition of the situation in 2017.

Over the past 2 days, I have seen the growth of alts go against the trend of bitcoin. While bitcoin is stable and down 1%, the top alts have increased from 5% - 8%, which is a good sign of technology investors.
I think in the coming months, if Bitcoin is gradually depreciated, the alts will maintain their position and will make Bitcoin dominance drop to 65%.

This is not a big drop as compare with the loss how much they have been dropped in last few months. BTC is still looking very strong with bullish sentiments and everyone is in hurry to buy more while on other side altcoins are keeping losing their position and grip on the market. I think by the end of Q4 we will see little recovery in market.

Most altcoins follow bitcoins price. If bitcoin's value are falling because it is retracing, most of the altcoins are affected by its movement. Most of them perform badly in the market and those alts in the top 20 are the only coins who are fighting to survive the market crash.
The mentality of those investors will be influence by the market trend most from Bitcoin movements, while the situations likely to be in a lots of downside due to Bitcoin dominance there's still projects that will follow and make sure that they will survive with this market, tough decision making process but it's worth once you find the right one for your investment.
Maybe when people said about top 20 coin will survived, i will agree with it. Because sometime we must think with logic. If want to speculate, actually no problem with it. But what people aim is profit. And me, personally wouldn't want to speculate much and pick top 20, or maybe top 5 coinmarketcap only.

If all your prediction would happen, it would bring positivity in the entire market, we cannot deny nowt hat bitcoin is still the most consistent coin in the market but altcoins in general have a very poor performance this year. A skyrocket of bitcoin means we are also expecting that there will be a new ATH that will be created, and with new ATH comes with the hype and the FOMO and the we will see new big pumps again.

I was just thinking of the scenario that happens in the past, I don't know if it will still happen sooner, but it's good to stay optimistic all the time.

I don't know what charts are you looking, but in the last two days, alts are not growing and not going against the trend of bitcoin. All top alts are in red and down so is bitcoin. Dominance is still close to 70%, it needs to go down to at least 45% before we can see some shift some bitcoin->altcoins.

However, bitcoin is getting stronger by the day and alts continue to be in a crypto winter. And I don't see bitcoin going down in the coming months, on the contrary it could maintain it's positive in the 5 digits up to the end of the year.

Lately what has happened to Altcoin is very worrying, and even this year is arguably the most difficult year for altcoin.
What happened to altcoin this year?
Until when will altcoin continue to hold on like this ..?
Maybe questions like that will always cross our minds. Because if we look at in the year 2016 and 2017 altcoin always consistently follows the movements of bitcoin. But this year, such trends do not happen again, Even though bitcoin has returned to the right track, meanwhile until now altcoin is still bleeding and very alarming.

Bitcoin and altcoin are two virtual currencies that cannot be separated. Bitcoin is the most popular digital currency and is known by the public. The price is very expensive, and will be very difficult to reach by novice traders and amateurs.
Whereas altcoin is an alternative coin that always coexists with bitcoin, with a relatively cheap price will be straightforward to reach by novice traders. Although bitcoin and altcoin are two different elements, but altcoin will always be under the umbrella of bitcoin.

First, the altcoin will fall deep because of bitcoin price increases higher. Second, altcoin will rises again after bitcoin price got a stable price like today. Third, the altcoin will reach the highest price again after it reaches.

But before we can see altcoin increase, bitcoin will be up and down many times, and that makes altcoin going to go down for more. Some of the altcoins will not survive and will get down deeper, but that's not all of the altcoins because some of them can survive, and even the price can increase. I think you don't have to afraid, and the altcoin will be increased again.

There is a bind with both the Bitcoin and altcoins but from the past three months the situation of outcomes is completely different because when the price increasing/decreasing is effected on the altcoin prices. So this makes many people there is no much bonding between Bitcoin and altcoins.

People that will be more hopeful on the growth of bitcoin are those who have invested in bitcoin itself, and those who have invested in the top altcoins that is in the market because those are the only coins that usually move with bitcoin uptrend, and ever since bitcoin has been growing, none of the altcoins that is below top 100 ever responded, and I don’t see them ever responding to even the next bull run of bitcoin.

If any investor is really wise right now, pending the time that they witness the bull run of bitcoin, they should just be investing more on those coins that are at the top market coin, and I think those are the coins that would really yield a very great profit for them while don’t see the ones below really doing much for us on our investment in them.

I think this is very related to one another because with the increase in the price of Bitcoin will have an impact with other Altcoins in my opinion, you can see the rise in price of Bitcoin will have big results on other Altcoins.

Not all altcoins that will move in a positive direction as Bitcoin move in a positive direction buddy. We have seen in that past where some altcoins do move in a different or contrary direction against bitcoin. And in some few cases where the rivers will be the case as against Bitcoin negative direction.
But it has a big difference today, mostly we found out that once Bitcoin drops the altcoins also drops more and getting hard to recover which we don't know why it happens. We know investors are having a big role in crypto space but then, they never been so aggressive as what they'll take last 2017.
This is the big challenge we have to fight for and being impatient will lead us for losing.

Nowadays, Bitcoin is back but has had a good impact on altcoins. In the past few months, when Bitcoin was pumping, the Altcoin price slowly also climbed. But the price increase of Altcoin is not very high.

Even if now observing the market, Bitcoin still dominates. But what happens to the altcoins, the more downhill. Market conditions are still very difficult to predict.

Obviously altcoins will struggle as long as the dominant rate of BTC will not drop, BTC has owned the market with at least 70% dominant rate now.
Last year, it was just around 50% which was the highest if I'm not mistaken but this year there is a significant increase because BTC has slowly recovered but unfortunately altcoins were left behind.

Although I'm happy this year that BNB had its ATH, but seeing the entire altcoins, it's not progressive as it was before.
Maybe there are only less than 10 coins that are positive this year, so we badly need a run in the last quarter of the year.

The crypto market is facing a lot of problems in investment and psychology may be the main reason why other altcoins do not have good growth this year. I think that if Bitcoin can stabilize for a short time, altcoins can grow stably because the current value of Bitcoin changes hourly and very unpredictable so I believe we have to wait longer. Maybe the bear market will continue until the end of next year so you have to be careful in investing

What makes you think so, have you forgotten that we have gone through that phase before where bitcoin even went quite above $13000 and then almost reaching $14000 before falling back to it current level, so why did altcoins not follow then. I cannot tie your statement to what will happen to altcoins when bitcoin reaches the $13000 again.

Every one of them is independent of their services now, bet with me that bitcoin will reach that $13000 and its dominance will still not fall because many people are just so much focusing on bitcoin now because they are taking alts to be unserious. The only saving grace that alts still has is that of their season, and no one know exactly when it will happen or what factor would responsible for that alt season.

Altcoins will recover. The charts says so, it is still in an uptrend. 2017 was an epic bubble and the prices are still to come lower but not lower than 2016, 2015 prices. You could trade back and forth into BTC if you will.

It's really hard to predict bitcoin and altcoin price this day. One thing for sure that they will increase in due time when the real bull run really happens. In this case that bitcoin retraces I think alts will decrease as bitcoin moves. Its a common thing that when bitcoin is moving alts will bleed for sure.

why be confused? Doesn't the price cycle of Altcoin depend on the price of Bitcoin?
Indeed it can't be mentioned like that but there are still things that look like that.
If we closely check and observe the market movement, we could see that prices seem to be dependent on Bitcoin flows.
What it happens now is that people are looking for another bull run to make use of their altcoins and gain some profit of it but it looks so hard and still in the edge of a long wait. Well, it hopes that people could wait and extend their patience.

It is answered now as bitcoin falling and altcoin follows as well

And besides this isn’t arguable because for how many years now we’ve seen that altcoins only considering the movement after bitcoin and the scenario is almost the same time after time

Though sometimes trend change when bitcoin fall while altcoin rise but this happens once in a blue moon not like when bitcoin fall alt fall also

It looks like its a different situation in the last in the past days, bitcoin is still down, it struggles to bounce back but look at the altcoins market, yesterday, they were green, and they are still green now. I think if this will continue, BTC's dominance will dump and we might see some growth in the altcoins market.

From 70% dominance rate of BTC, now its down to 68% its just a minor change but it does bring big positive return for the altcoins market.
Seeing altcoins grow at least 5% is already a good improvement for me since we haven't see it for a while.

If the investors are ready to add coins?then this must be the right time though there are some speculation that we will be bottoming at $6,000 per bitcoin and if does we’re are from reality

But of course this is about the chance on gathering in cheap prices because no one really know what is the bottom or what is the max,the important thing here is we will not late from the ride if bulls starts immediately

At bull market or bear market, If the price of BTC suddenly increase or decrease, all alt coins will crush. It’s the fundamental of the market that never changed according to the different maker conditions.
It is important how alt coins will behave after the crush depends on movements of BTC.
I normal after the sudden price changes, money must follow to the alt coins and at coins must increase while BTC is stable or small pries changes at BTC.
By the way, last two months we see that this scenario which mentioned above is not valid anymore. After sudden price changes at BTC, alt coins do not recover themselves as BTC recover. Everyday we see new all-time lows. So everyday making profit from the market become more difficult.

I also think today some members of the community sell their altcoins to BTC, accordingly altcoin market are in today's level. It makes prediction hard for us what will happen in the future, as altcoins are unaffected by the increase in BTC in recent months. Hopefully the next increase will not be ineffective as in 2017, the end of 2019 will be saved in our memory.
We/I can't deny that btc is better than Altcoins and diversifying our portfolio into btc alone is not a bad idea but really good. Altcoins still in struggles while Bitcoin is moving back again which is an opportunity and an advantage of bitcoin holders/investors to have some gains.

Well,  it has to say that we can be more profitable if we've got more bitcoin rather than to hold Ethereum. That's the practically I see and I don't believe that it will be my regret at all.

You can do that if you want, but what altcoins are you thinking on buying? If you want to buy some of the most popular coins in the market then you are right but if you think that we are going to see some kind of resurgence of most altcoins then you are wrong, most of the coins outside of the top 100 are trash and the few that are not will soon enough find themselves in the top 100 anyway, you need to also be very careful since just a few days ago a bull trap happened and many lost money because of it.

If the price of bitcoin goes down, the price of altcoin will go down too. And if the price of bitcoin rises too dramatically the price of altcoin will also fall. Altcoin is more volatile than bitcoin. Altcoin instability is caused by a low market.
Altcoins are also exponentially easier to change, because they have a vulnerability to price manipulation, where large supplies are usually held by a handful of people.

Currently the dominance of Bitcoin over market prices can indeed have a strong influence on Altcoin so that when the price of Bitcoin rises dramatically then the price of Altcoin will also increase slightly,  but if the price of Bitcoin goes down then the price of Altcoin will also plummet. this condition is very different when in 2016 - 2017 ago.

if bitcoin goes up, altcoin will try to go up, and that also depends on how far it flies.
we can see when the last bull was in 2017 where the price of bitcoin at the beginning of the year 1000 $ then rose to ATH at 19k $.
altcoin had dropped, but then followed it.
in some cases there are a number of altcoins that even go up to 100x at the time of ATH for example XLM.

There were two incidence that happened during that time, the bitcoin value rose very high when the market players entered the market and at the same time, the ico became very popular then because of the rise of bitcoin, but the level of people in cryptocurrency then was still very low so the new broke fast and many people who are internet knowledgeable wanted to know about it, and from there they picked interest.

If bitcoin breaks forth today, don't be surprised that altcoin may still not follow, I mean altcoins that are below the top 20 in the market because many people are already used to this and they will not want to invest in altcoin again seeing how they have treated majority of their investors in the past, this makes me doubt if we will still have alts season.

I do not think that now the crypto market can exist without altcoins. However, many of them will die. Everything is simple -heaping up a large number of cryptocurrencies that are not competitive can cause a crash. These cryptocurrencies are too idealized by users and in the end there will come a moment when they appear in front of the crypto community as they are (many of them - useless).

That is truly right only some altcoins shows the potential to grow at this moment but I hope if the bitcoin goes back bullrun a lot of altcoins possible to increase aptheir price. And I agree stay patient time has comes for the new ATH.

You can tell why, here's a simple explanation.

BTC dominant rate is 66.5%
Altcoins total dominant rate is 33.4%

Therefore it's normal that altcoins will just follow whatever the movement of BTC, and its really bad if the market continues to struggle as BTC's dominance rate will rise while altcoins will continue to have significant dumps.

This market is hard to make a good profit because there will be another trend every year and Bitcoin is probably the only coin that can change everything in crypto. In my opinion if Bitcoin can increase and last until the end of this year, altcoin will have a new growth because recently a lot of big investors are interested in this market. Maybe possible the market goes against your mind but it is certain that the uptrend will happen again.

The thing to do now is be patient and buy Bitcoin at $8000 as this is a very cheap price this year. Of course this opinion is based on my personal analysis and you have the right not to believe.

never rush to buy an asset. although now is fairly cheap, but the trend of trade and investment is not so good now. there is a possibility we can get assets at a better price. bitcoin or altcoin I think it's the same. there are risks and many possibilities that can occur.

an uptrend may occur, but it takes time and new trends to increase the adoption of a large market.

Bitcoin is already on top, hitting as high as 70% of the total market cap and most Altcoins have suffered -90% already I think altcoin has hit rock bottom and I don't think that they will fall even further. I think that problem is that many investors still thinks or least wanted to see a 2017 boom which is not going to happen unless bitcoin goes on a massive bull run and bringing alts with it. So far, that is not happening. What we witnessed is just a bitcoin's mini bull run or just simply a recovery.

Yes. In order to see altcoin market blossoming once again, Bitcoin has to hold position. Once BTC rose by like 20-30% and then hold a position and start moving sideaways, we will see alts returning in green zone again.

Bitcoin has absolute dominance in this market and any altcoin must follow Bitcoin's volatility. This market is only Bitcoin can help you make good profits because this is the only coin that has a great influence on all investors. I'm not worried when Altcoin declines but when Bitcoin decreases it will make things more difficult. Now Bitcoin is very cheap and if you choose to invest for the future, buy as soon as possible.

I agree with you . According to the latest analysis, investors tend to hold more Bitcoin during this time and the price of $8000 is a very good opportunity to hold for everyone. Although I don't know what the market will be like in the near future but Bitcoin is still the most worthy coin to invest now. I personally do not like investing in Altcoin because the current risk is very high and my psychology is unstable so it will be very difficult to make a profit.

Bitcoin rules the market. Alt coins can not go anywhere if BTC not give permission to them.

Last 2-3 months we saw how BTC dominated the alt market. BTC up alt coins down, BTC down alt coins down, even BTC stable and alt coins down.

New investors and got money needed at crypto market for alt coins growing independent from BTC.

if bitcoin rises now, all altcoins will fall. because until now I see when bitcoin pumps, altcoin falls, when bitcoin falls, altcoin also falls. and when Bitcoin is stable, that's when altcoin gets up and rises high. that's what I analyzed after the increase from 2016 to the present. and very different in 2014-2015.
Trends may change from time to time, when bitcoin rises we can expect that altcoins will drop, due to the reason that people are riding with the pump of BTC and there's a possible FOMO that is going to happen, however, that dump will not last if BTC will continue to go with its trend and that's what we witness int he past.. what we really need now is to have btc pump maybe at $15k or more so people will be convince that the recovery is real and btc might break to a new high, that's where the new money will fall for altcoins also.

Altcoins always follow the Bitcoin price movements. However, we must note the difference between the movements of the entire market and the successes of individual projects. Even when the whole market is in a downward trend, investors not only cash out, but also look for investment and profit opportunities. If a project develops and achieves some success, its price often increases very quickly, regardless of what happens with the price of Bitcoin and other altcoins.

Per market record performance mostly every Bitcoin price movement will create a domino effect to Altcoins like if Bitcoin price will fall it will make the Altcoins price to dump too and if the Bitcoin will soar high then most of the Altcoins will rising up too therefore the whole crypto market performance will always depend on Bitcoin movement

It seems the market dominance of bitcoin has already reached the top and since then it has been going down, the market dominance is now at 65.8% and while it is still quite high we will have to see how the market begins to move, if it stays there for some time then most likely the price will not move in a long time but if it keeps drooping we could begin to see a change in the way investors look at alts and we could see a small recovery or why not an altcoin season.

based on my simple research, when bitcoin goes down then alt goes down too. alt is so weak
there is just a few alt that can goes up, therefore many alts are dump
alt dominance is so small too, just 32% and bitcoin 68%
it is certain if bitcoin decreases all coins will also decrease because we know that bitcoin is a cryptocurrency which is a guideline for investors if bitcoin decreases altitude will certainly decrease because investors will also be affected by the falling bitcoin currency even though the systems of the two coins are not interrelated maybe because of the reduced confidence with altcoin that we invest

The value of alts if bitcoin retraces, of course it will be a big affect in cryptocurrency sphere. It will pull down each value because bitcoin is the king of all coins. The dominance of this coin will leds to a mass buying of everybody in crypto because they are already proven as real coin.

It is seen that the altcoins are co-related to the price of Bitcoin if not fully but representing the direction of the movement in any way. So, from here if the price of Bitcoin now go down then the altcoins will go down severely. Maybe some of the coin vanished from the market.

That's the reality, altcoins are going down severely.
When bitcoin hit $3K+, the top altcoins market also dropped at average of 10 times lower from their all time high, especially ETH where we witnessed it was trading below $100 usd before it slowly recovers but that's from $1300 to its current price now of only $172.

Was this not just in another thread?  I just got finished writing this post:

No, altcoins won't be able to recover independently of bitcoin if bitcoin were to crash to $5000 (or even lower).  They're all priced in bitcoin, so they're going to follow whatever it does.  I also have the feeling that if bitcoin crashes, altcoins will be hit even harder because people will start to lose confidence in them and will likely sell in a panic.  It's happened before and can happen again.

All of that aside, I don't think bitcoin is headed much lower, tho obviously I cannot say this with certainty.  It seems to be holding up pretty well right now and is just trading in a narrow range.  Eventually when it forms a trend I think it'll go higher rather than lower...but we'll see about that.  It could be months before that happens.

And it's true.  I don't have high hopes for alts if bitcoin starts to go down significantly.  On the other hand, if alts start to go down the toilet, it would probably be a great time to start buying them.  They have a tendency to recover after crashes and are more resilient than one might think.

I would say to remember that the relationship between BTC and altcoins is not always symbiotic. There are time where money is flooding into BTC and the alts are bleeding because the money is being taken out of alts to go into BTC. I just see an influx of money to both sides which is causing everything to be positive.

But i don't think cryptocurrency is mature enough to decouple itself from Bitcoin. When the price of BTC goes down people get scared, they start selling their altcoins too. It's a combination of fear plus people trying to be a step ahead and sell high and rebuy at the bottom. Unlike oil most of these coins have don't have a real world necessity so their price won't behave like oil.

Yes, the market of altcoins moved down when the bitcoin market was close around $3000. Later by April the price of bitcoin started to increase, but there is no big growth with altcoins. Majority of the altcoins were selling low, other than few altcoins like Binance Coin marked its ath as more IEO got launched pairing with BNB. Now too the altcoins were down, possibly the market growth will gets ignited only after bitcoin crossing $12K.

Altcoin will move down if bitcoin increases its price. But don't worry because altcoin will start green when bitcoin is stable at the highest price. then this is the chance for altcoin to move up if bitcoin is sideaway or stable. So I thought if bitcoin had experienced the highest price and remained there and only had a slight correction to return to the highest frame, then the chance pump for altcoin could not be avoided anymore

altcoin will start green when bitcoin is stable at the highest price. so, altcoin is never pump bcz we all know that bitcoin isnt stable ;D
i have different opinion, altcoin will pump when bitcoin marketcap decreases in price and dominance toward altcoin. so altcoins market cap can increase because of it
we can learn from crazy pump on last 2017 ago, bitcoin just has 30-40% dominance, so the another is altcoin ofc

If we use those standards to try to to tell which coins will survive and which coins will die then it is safe to assume that most coins currently in the market will disappear, most of those that invested in altcoins are not really interested in whatever the developers are trying to achieve, they just want profits and as soon as it is obvious those profits will not come they will abandon that project and if the talent level of the developers is low then most coins do not have any hope to recover.

Altcoin no longer has much hope in investing because today there has been a major change and the market continues to fall unexpectedly, which makes many investors feel tired during this time. I have put a lot of hope into this market but until now, things are going against me so in the future I will choose to wait. Looking at what is happening, 2019 is probably a disappointing year for everyone.

In 2022, the new market can return because the bear market has only been operating for 2 years and the downward trend may make you more risky when investing.

I see it as stupidity to keep releasing coin with all the competitions that we presently have and all the coins that we have are even not helping matter because they are all after what can fill their bank and never interested in growing any technology, meanwhile what we really need that these coins need to start considering is to release a quality technology that will make the world to glue to cryptocurrency.

If we had been using cryptocurrency for the technology of it and not just for investment, government would have by now regulated the industry.  There are definitely coins in the market that are very strong, not to compete with bitcoin, but to have a project that will really meet up the need of people for blockchain related projects. Bitcoin will always be number without any form of competition.

No one can know when it will happen because this is a financial market so the prediction is often incorrect. I think $12,000 will not happen this year and don't expect too much because the current market is very volatile and is being manipulated very easily. You have the right to choose to invest at this price but I advise you to be more careful because without a smart investment strategy you will be the next victim of the bear market.

Point of views in most cases, the market will experienced a good bounce when bitcoin is really achieving the rally that it gained way back 2017, we will experienced the same rise for alts most for those solid projects that have good intentions and still surviving with the condition. Bitcoin bull as expected to lift the entire industry and make much better trading experience to alts holders that still aiming to take some share of profits when the market rises that high.

Altcoins that have very high quality product will still rise again in time, I believe so, these bad ones must have affected them really, but they will really fade away now that investors are not paying attention, and they will die quickly more than the good ones because of their lack of real working product.

Altcoin will usually always be determined because of the movement of bitcoin, if good bitcoin can be sure altcoin is also interested in good. if there is an altcoin that cannot keep up with the movements of bitcoin it could be wrong to manage it. usually the movements of bitcoin will always coincide with altcoin. but now there are also many altcoins that only benefit when ICO is finished.

Even the price of bitcoin will pump up the price of different altcoins will also pump simply because some of them are paired with bitcoin. However, there is an instance that bitcoin will rise up while the other altcoin will fall down and vice versa. We all know that there is also an altcoin season where the price of different altcoins is keep on increasing but still the price bitcoin will also increase. Years ago when the price of bitcoin went down altcoins had a tendency to go up in value as investors were looking for other opportunities to multiply their capital but since then many things have happened, stable coins appeared which gave you the chance of getting out of the market if you thought it was going down and even more importantly any confidence that investors had in altcoins has disappeared through the years and you cannot recover that confidence that easily.

I don't think altcoins are able to follow Bitcoin price movement lately. Recently there was news that whales are moving their money from altcoins to Bitcoin. This shows that people are losing hope from altcoins and BTC seems like a better option. This will further increase the market capitalization of Bitcoin which will further bring in more volume. So if BTC retraces its price, I don't think that will have much effect on altcoins which have already bottomed out.

It seems that now we have to start thinking about how to collect bitcoin and also some altcoin because I realize investing in digital currencies, especially in bitcoin and ethereum is a must for a better future.
There are a lot of ways you can earn if not want to use capital. I think until the time has come, do some signature campaign still worth to do because it not much take our time to do it. And i still confused about retrace that OP mention, means bitcoin back to cheap price or ATH. But what any thing that can happen to bitcoin, alt have big possibilities to dumped.

Investing in bitcoin is a must and I feel bad for those newbies that were introduced wrongly to some shitcoins which they don't have an idea if it will remain existing within the few years in the future.

ETH is also a good candidate but somewhat, an aspiring crypto investor should always go focus with bitcoin as much as possible so that he can enjoy his profits in the future once the the bull run comes. And there's no regret investing to the king of this market.

when bitcoin has decreased, of course, altcoin will also follow it. that we have seen so far in such a market. because bitcoin has a big effect on altcoin trading.
if you have enough capital to buy, I think buying and saving is the best and safe way for beginners to earn money. for the signature campaign now can not expect much.

Will be better then if people have their own capital and then buy some bitcoin. Anything that can be source of our capital, must be really free money. And not money that will be used for daily life, or maybe borrow from someone or company or bank or anything that like that kind of loan. So when something that we not expected happen, we ready because it is our own money.

If bitcoin goes up, altcoin should also go up, because altcoin is too long at the bottom and only moves a little. So Bitcoin must be stable after it experiences an increase later, maybe after that altcoin will turn green all and maybe it will be the season, because the movement of bitcoin is at a good price. Now actually if we are patient everything will be repeated again like 2017, because that is history and history can be repeated again.

Too many suppositions, altcoins are not going up because investors do not want to get scammed anymore, more than 90% of the altcoins in the market are scams, with that kind of odds who is going to want to invest in altcoins and if for some miracle we see an altcoin season before the end of this year you can be sure that only good altcoins like ETH will be affected by it while the rest of the coins in the market remain stale and do not move at all.

Something won't just go up, just because it's been down for so long. Same thing vice versa, just because something is so long up doesn't mean it must come down.

Rise and falls are common in the market but peaks and bottoms could just as well be the new stable line, and I think we have to be prepared for a scenario where a lot of alts are already beyond recovery and the current bottom is actually their new maximum.

@Slaman29 you are right, some alts are beyond any chance for recovery, they can just stay where they are, if they are lucky, cause some of them will drop more. Bitcoin will rise more definitely, but bitcoin cant pull all alts, just some of them will follow that rise.
People generalize alts, but its impossible to do that due so many differences between them. Its clear that just some of them will have success in the long run, while many will fall out from that race!

Most altcoin pairs are versus bitcoin, and besides that, most of them are purely speculative, so most traders use altcoins to maximize their bitcoins reserve. Remember, the only reason you trade altcoins is to get more bitcoins.

However, as Bitcoin is considered the flagship of crypto world, many people tend to hold their assets in Bitcoin rather than any Altcoins. this is quite independent of Bitcoin price, and when Bitcoin goes down, it can mean faith in crypto has decreased, as a result most of Altcoins follow Bitcoin as well since more people begin to cash out. On the other hand a raise in Bitcoin price stimulates people to convert their holdings to Bitcoin for a bull run. anyway I think a stable Bitcoin price after a sudden run bull makes an Alt Season very likely, after 2017 ATH.

if bitcoin retraces now soon what will happen to alts? will they fall with it or will they rise how will it play out?
I think based on the happenings before, when bitcoin's price grew up so high, the altcoins were also affected positively. We may not be certain that the same thing will happen again but we should put high hopes about it. There are a lot of people investing on different altcoins right now and seeing bitcoin's price grew high together with altcoin again, it would be more than beneficial for them. We should also monitor always their market value to have a better decision making and do not rely on bitcoin's price alone when it comes to altcoin's future.

That depends on the market. if bitcoin price is falling during a bear market, of course, the altcoins market will follow. But when there is an active bull run in the market, if bitcoin price falls the altcoins price will grow. Sometimes there is a market shift between bitcoins and altcoins more especially during a bull market.

If Bitcoin is currently rising in price then for altcoins the price will follow even if it rises slowly. But be careful does not mean
bitcoin prices go up, then right away altcoins go up too. But after bitcoin prices rise, wait for the moment of bitcoin to stabilize
first or side away after that price altcoins will rise. Such events occur when in 2017, therefore history likes to repeat. And we all
expect 2020 with the halving bitcoin event to be a moment of historical repetition. Then from that now the price of bitcoin and
altcoins is still relatively cheap, can start making purchases gradually from now on.

I think market will definitely not going to have bull run when bitcoin price fall because bitcoin dominate more than 60% of market caps, and when bitcoin price fall means more than 60% people on the market are struggling with bitcoin and other alts will fall. When bitcoin's market price is in sideway position just like lately, that's when the altcoins price rising

I will see both Bitcoin and altcoins are really good investment option for any new investor who are looking for investment on cryptocurrency. so just look for your best time to invest on the best coin all the times you cannot find the same price for every cryptocurrency.
so if you are being clever images the best time for that coin and take the returns coin price goes to moon.

Do you think there is no effect of altcoin on bitcoin? You are wrong, actually in altcoin trading will affect the value of bitcoin. overall when a big adoption takes place on altcoin it can also affect the bitcoin market. because trading can happen with other altcoins or with bitcoin. if on a small scale it might not feel the effect. but if what happens on a large scale then what happens is market movement in general.

Bitcoin and alts will not get a bullish trend simultaneously, because when we talk about a big increase then at least bitcoin is the main one to reach the moon first and after that we will get a very good alts season. But if bitcoin falls, altcoins will decline more quickly and this is suffering.

Any fluctuation of Bitcoin will directly affect the value of all altcoins and this has happened during the last few years. If Bitcoin falls, then this market will become very bad and difficult to predict because the investment in that period will be very risky. I don't know when the altcoin season may reappear like 2017 but it will probably take place in 2020 because this is a year with so many big events.

Now I recommend investing some coins like Atom, Ethereum, BNB because these are very potential coins and will definitely increase in price if Bitcoin grows in the near future.

The way crypto makert is moving, it is evident that there is no future of Alt Coin without BTC.
Alt coins usually go up and down with BTC. Strong BTC is essential for strong action.

I think that 90% is a lot, I would like to clarify this figure. My opinion is that no more than 70% of projects can be fraudulent. I believe that over the last year the cryptocurrency market has developed very high quality.
Even if you are right do not you think that is a tragedy? If 70% of the projects are scams that is still a terrible percentage, which person who sees those numbers is going to want to invest in altcoins? The truth is that the actual percentage of scams in the market is irrelevant what it matters is that investors do not feel safe anymore to invest in new coins, and once you have lost the confidence of investors then it does not matter what you try to achieve since you will never get it.

If Bitcoin rises, altcoin will also rise. Because altcoin is also very dependent on Bitcoin. Although the price of Altcoin doesn't go up, because the price of Bitcoin is high also makes a lot of money.

That's the reality, bitcoin needs to lead the market so we can see a good overall market.
Bitcoin had some great run this year, but it was not as consistent as we expected, so when it dump, altcoins suffer again.
It's been this way so far, price volatility at play and the market is very unstable now so it's hard to expect that altcoins will grow.

For BTC, at least it has some great movement that leads to recovery this year.

At the current price of $8k, we can already consider this an improvement on the cheap price it started this year.

We know that BTC has dropped $3K+ and it has pump up to $13k and now it settles to $8K  but we are not expecting that it would stay that price, there's still plenty of time left, if we move sideways this month, I'm optimistic that by December we will see some major pump because I have a vision that  Bitcoin will end at over $10,000 this year.

Most of the investors are optimistic that the price would rise by December considering the past performance of bitcoin before the halving, we are in the mid of November and the price is still at sub $9k and when ever there was a push to breach those resistance it came down, so i am waiting how the market will react by the end of this month and then we will see whether we will see another push before December.

If the Bitcoin rebound now then altcoins will be down severely. But if the Bitcoin price touched the highest ever then altcoins will rise gradually and must give the profit of 50 times at least from here.

Bitcoin value will be grows better atleast if such things happens good for BTC alone because after we tried very hard we are seeing that apart from Bitcoin value none of the cryptocurrency showing its potential from the past few years we people not seeing the altcoins value growing at all.
I barely waiting for the ethereum value to grow more in the marketplace.

We know that if bitcoin goes up by necessity altcoins will go up as well, what it is happening is that altcoins are getting way behind bitcoin when it comes to their growth, bitcoin by far has been the best performing coin during this year, you could find some exceptions among the altcoins but it does not matter altcoins have been going down even further when compared against bitcoin and investors are getting desperate by this lack of reaction from altcoins.

We need not worry about the current trend about the Bitcoin, even the price of drops and suddenly the price of Bitcoin starts recovering. So it is always good to grab the altcoin when we have spare money because once it starts recovering we might make some decent profit with the Bitcoin investment. So Bitcoin investment is always good for the long term.
