Title: A new kind of scam in telegram using gambling site
Post by: robelneo on June 27, 2019, 04:31:27 AM
The guy is so fast to delete our conversation in telegram and block me, I think he's been doing this for a long time and already victimized people.

He will introduce himself as the owner of a gambling site [forgot the name of the gambling site also) he will invite you to invest in his gambling site and make you a winner of their dice game, the catch is you will divide the pot and send him 50% of the winning pot.

Sounds interesting, I asked him that he send me Bitcoin so I can deposit and do what he says, he told me that many people have already scammed him doing that, but when I ask him how old is the site, he told me that the gambling site is old and trusted one urging me to deposit now, but I told him I would fall to this because the site has no traffic when checking on Alexa..

If I made a deposit I'm pretty sure he will block me.

The guy blocked me I wish I  made a screenshot I was waiting for him to prove that the site is legit.

So beware there are so many scammers lurking there and this is one of their methods.

I will be suspicious the first time he asked me.

Why would you even forget that site? The most unforgettable sites I know are the sites that I trusted and used to go and play, and the sites that are scams or not legitimate. If that happened to me, I will be asking the site and make a thread here to ask if that is a legitimate site or not, You can also ask other sites about it or maybe some friends you know.

I am very active in the bounty campaign and chatting some of my clients, I shift from one conversation to the other actually and has so many tabs opened because of my campaign, just got me interested when he told me I can make $1000 which is too good to be true I just realized that he blocked me and delete our conversation when I tried to get back on him.

Point is you should be aware of this, this scammer could come again with a new site same method.

How did you get to start a conversation with the fellow in the first place probably he connected you through a group you are on. You can avoid such scamsters by setting your priorities right you can have multiple telegram account on a device you can set one for only groups(it could be crypto related or what ever) there by knowing any private chat from there should be suspicious then setting the other as private chat where you give it out to people you know.

Indeed, this is not a new issue in a way of scam. I also encounter this kind of people but I did not mind them. There's a lot of scammed happened in telegram so we must be careful to those who dealing us not to fall their bait trap. Only greed people will bite on this kind of offer I'm sure. Luckily, OP was realized did not deposit to the gambling site OP's said and I think it would be good if you name it here that gambling site. Well, thanks for your awareness of us.

Thank you for giving us a fair warning. I also got some message in my telegram, but I just totally ignore them. Being long in the game, and specially when the price of bitcoin is going up, lots of scammers will come up with every ways they think that they can scam people, but not me.

But for those newbies, let this be a lesson, "if it is too good to be true it probably isn't".

This post is better be read by the new people in this kind of investment. There are a lot of people that will really take advantage of us wanting to earn money. If you think that an investment is too good to be true, you should really make your research or an inquiry to other peoplr that can tell you. Be safe and be aware.

Scammer everywhere so we need to save ourselves from their attack. But when someone have clear mind then they can realize that this is just blatant scam attack so chances of getting scammed is very less unless the other person is so dump to trust the words said by the scammer who called as owner.

There are many scammers who would do anything for a quick buck but you and everyone else should be fine if you follow a few guidelines.

Never deposit your bitcoins first, always check the reviews of the site you are being invited to,check the background of the person inviting you and in the end only after carefully analyzing these facts I am sure will make the right decision by not joining any offer like this.

As a rule of thumb; legit connections rarely message first, and not out of the blues.
If I get a random message from an unfamiliar contact, it raises all red flags.
Also why would the owner of a gambling site want to cheat his own system? He's proposing something inappropriate. Frankly this is an easy scam to spot.
Greed and ignorance (most will not verify the site using a third party) is the major reason people get scammed.

They not only in telegram but contact me on facebook too. For something like that it is better to ignore or delete their chat and report. Because i still believe there are no easy money and even in this forum we still should to work in bounty campaign first.

Half the links in posts here to social platforms like Telegram or Facebook involve scams and I almost never click any such links anymore. Most scams are also extremely obvious if you use your common sense and proceed carefully with whoever you are talking to.

You should also ideally only invest in the bankroll of more reputable casinos; you might get better returns investing on a newer site, but the risk is too great for the potential reward.

Thanks for the warning but only newbie would fall for this kind of scam, I've seen this many times in my life and one thing I learn, if they require you to cash out in order to get the reward or the service, you have to doubt that. If one is willing to give you easy money, they would not require you to cash out first. I actually don't entertain people chatting me in telegram, from time to time there are message who just suddenly pop op and I know it's just a scam.

I can't believe how dumb you are when you almost thought that it was even possible. What the person did was just a pretty common old school way of scamming people and since you are a legendary you should to be aware of that already.

I think you should have to consider improving yourself when it comes to self awareness else we will be seeing you again here more often

That's a new technique to scam the common people who easily fall as a prey for multiplication of the funds through some way. Earlier people fell into investment schemes and multiplier schemes. Now understanding the growth of gambling websites and the active involvement of people scammers try to take control of the people through different betting options. We've got lot many access to trusted gambling websites, understanding the same it is good to stay away from any such scam approach through different ways.

In this world of cryptocurrency, believe and trust only in yourself. People will always try to fool people to get their money the easy way, you may not be a victim but thousand others are waiting to be victimized by these culprits. Good thing that you made us aware of this modus.

There are so many ways now to commit fraud. And one of them is by the name of a gambling site. This is what we must pay attention together so that we are never fascinated with bonuses or anything else. And thank you for sharing your experiences and future so that there will be no more victims of fraud.

Would be nice to know what the exactly the name is of that Gambling site.
And if they have some kind of Users here on Bitcointalk too ,
and we can ask about the things or if there is a proof of that , we can tagg them or create a Flag to the Account.

Please try to recall what's that casino so that we have the exact details if someone asks about it in the future, we can give certain opinion that everyone must be wary and can avoid it quickly.

It's a typical style of those scammers that they will try to convince you that you can earn decently by just doing nothing. But the favor always belongs to them while the money will come from you, don't deposit any amount and gamble only with reputable casinos.

i think its useless to tag them because they can always create another group or site to scam people again and again  . its no use to warn people because there are still hard headed people that will risk even if they already the know that the group or the site is risky  . its thier fault and we cant do anything about it  . scams and frauds can be easily detected if you are a wise and smart person  ,  i have been in the space for along time but i never got scammed  .

There are many fraud attempts carried out by strangers and we must be vigilant. Such attempts can happen in any social media application not only on telegram. Ignoring strangers who try to give "the look so good to be true promises" will help us to avoid becoming victims.

I’m curious also and want to know the name of that gambling site, but scumbags fast to delete their conversation at all and OP does not have chance to screenshot it.
Let’s just wait for another person who will encountered like this. And can provide a solid proof and warn people for another sh*t of scamming.

So the scammers will try to scam people using many ways. We need to be careful with them and don't send anything to them as we don't know if they are legit or not. But this is a new kind of scam, and this is the first time I know this scam. I hope you don't get another experience like that and you can be safe in any way you do. But that is strange if someone offers us and tell that we can make a lot of money in a short time because that thing will never happen to anyone.

With cryptos popularity increasing, scam is also increasing that is why it is very important that we should be very careful when negotiating or making transactions online because scammers are everywhere, don’t invest right away on things that can be too good to be true.

Guess there are a lot of Users how get scammed this way .

Scammers will try everything and this kind of attempt will keep showing up till they get someone who will be so greed and fall to this kind of scamming practice, telegram users are in need to be careful as it's been the channel for scammers to find potential victims who will cater and believe from those false promises.

That's why we should always check if the site is legitimate first. I believe there are numbers of trusted sites that can be searched in the internet and I think it would be better to use those we are sure of than those we just knew. And he's already suspicious about some points in your conversation. At this day and age, scammers are also so high-tech. We better not let our guards down.

We can all be aware if there's link for that gambling site, anywhere I guess this is not the first time for the scammers because they are using everything to scam people. Its good that you don't fall on that trap or else you will lose the money. This is not new I guess, but an indication that even on Telegram scammers are working so always be careful and don't too much greedy on gambling if its too good to be true then stay away or don't play at all.

Since the start you will know that this guy isn't trusted. You don't need to be smart to notice, but I guess even with this so much suspicious trick, there are still people getting fooled because of their eagerness to earn money. Scammers are everywhere and they will always be there that's why you need to be more cautious in dealing with other people.

Not a new scam yet these already exist and lots of type of them on telegram.Only your common sense will really able to

Be sensible because if everyone offers too good to be true then you should think twice.

Very suspicious when I read the “telegram” using it for scamming.

You guys know how telegram features work. It can be deleted anytime and anywhere when people want to delete it, that’s why I don’t trust every pm I received in telegram unless i’m the first one to chat or send them messages.
There will always be a kind of people who never thinks what would be the result if they feed their children that the money they used is from a bad deeds.

Be cautious

^ Completely right, common sense here is a must. Doing something research while you are investigating the given gambling site is also the best action while protecting your self from a possible scam. This is not new, there's a bunch of scammed happen on telegram so we must be careful on the stranger who privately messages on you. As what have said the post above it was common sense. Our responsibility not to fall on this kind of monkey business.

It doesn't really make any sense on first site.No dumb site owner would let players win the entire bankroll and asking for

a 50% slice up?For what? This thing alone is already a shady thing to be avoided.

Each Telegram account has a specific set of functions with which you can perform certain actions to prevent unwanted contacts with other individuals or groups.  This is primarily intended to prevent fraudsters from deceiving themselves.  You can’t trust anything that seems so sweet and believable.

Sometimes fake admins send me a message after having a small conversation with the telegram group users. The fake staff asks about the problems and they want to get as much as possible data from the victim. Unfortunately, there is no way to prevent this except reporting the telegram user.

Thank you and this is a real eye-opener for those that are new in this type of story. Telegram is full of scammers and if you are not careful you are going to fall victim of many of them. I could remember how a profile with female picture sending me a message that she "wants me to help her move funds from her boyfriend account and she will send me the login information" I discovered that she's a scammer and when I asked two or three questions she just blocked me. We should be careful, please!

It’s obvious like a ponzi scheme doing. Promising that you’ll have a huge winning percentage (%) in just a matter of time. Nobody would fall for an obvious and suspicious scam attempt, you bet if you smell and know that it’s too good to be true. Then, get out of it.

“Never trust a too good to be true gambling site” we never know what would be the next way of scamming they’ll do. Be aware.

Yes, it is very true. There are casino bots or even individuals in the telegram channel and those are very hard to trust. They can disappear into thin air anytime. There are dice sites under telegram channel, but I have really no confidence in using them. Maybe, if you will play from their freebies but depositing money? I think is a no no. Unless, it is really a trusted one. They can always rip your money anonymously. How can you run after them? They can easily delete their profiles once they got your money.

Too bad you forgot the chance to get the gambling site or his number on Telegram, that way we can have a starting point to be aware of. In the first place if I were to be ask to do those kinds of illicit stuffs, I would refuse and go away right away. I had been scammed so many times in the telegram and I think that was enough for me to serve my lessons.

That's not a new scam, similar scams take place on telegram where people claim to be bounty managers or ICO CEO's. Only noobs and people with no brains fall for it. Did you really think you're going to get 50% of the profits? Even if a casino owner from reputed site messages me with such a deal, my logical senses will ignore it instantly.

This should be a nice tip for new investors. There are a lot of people that are wanting to invest in crypto currency and if they are not aware of this kind of scam, they will not be making any money from it. With this people can now be careful on the chats, emails, and advertisements they will be reading. Another thing is that we should really spread awareness of this kind of scam.

Its 2019, scammers are using everything available to scam people but we should be should be aware that not everyone who knocks on our door offering good profits are to be taken seriously. I would think twice already when they are the one asking you as an individual to invest on their site because if their site is really that good, they don't need to ask anyone to invest, investors will go to them begging them to take their money.

It's definitely not everyone, but we know the signs of scams, that is when the offer is too good to be true, I can see that anywhere in the crypto space and I actually learn a lot in my early stage here so I would not be victim again. At the same time, I am also a gambler, so I'm sure I'm clever enough to fall for this.

they will only be doing it in the hope of earning some more profit but not all gamblers do have a high risk taking ability  , some are only sticking on thier comfort zone  .

What if a scammer got scammed? maybe it’s quite possible... Despite with the huge spike in bitcoin price, their would be a lot of scammer who is desperate to make a bad deeds just to scam other’s people money. AFAIK maybe only the newest ones will fall for this type of scamming. And we are helpless indeed.

Who would fall for this kind of old fashion style of scamming?it is very obvious that the man only wanted to take some crypto from you, maybe he change the design of scamming but almost same style as what the old school do.and being a legendary you are mature enough in this forum to be a victim of their sweet tongue.they have a sugar coated tongue that has been here for long time ago

My advice is for us to be careful and think before sending coins to anyone

Once I was asked to "test" how web page works. Admin of the telegram channel asked me to buy Ripple via credit card for 10$ on a particular page, and promised to repay 10+2$ to my stake.com account. I found that very strange and blocked chat with that user.

This all started when I was in stake.com signature campaign. Steve asked in telegram channel who has got reddit accounts and formed a group of reddit account owners. Later new admin of that group asked if someone is "ready for a quick task".

Maybe this is just my paranoia, but I wouldn't risk my credit card number for 2$.

Telegram is the most used platform for scammers and they are getting those telegram names from bounty threads because people were posting all their personal details which might be sold to scammers and can be used to steal lot of money.

it isn't really new anymore because even on a traditional investment market, these kind of people do exist and only yourself awareness and

And with this channel, they can easily delete their profiles once caught. They will send you a pm, saying something about investments, high return, etc. but if you ignore them, you will find out later on that they already deleted their account. Experienced such situation many times. Don't trust those scammers and never deposit any money to them for the hope of getting your money tenfold. It never will. Most people use telegram to scam people. Do you really think a random person from the internet would come and offer you something really good without being sketchy? If offers are too good to be true, then there is something fishy. I am assuming he will tamper the bets to allow you to win in dice and then you will have to give him 50% of the winning pot? This means he is scamming other investors. High chances he just wanted to you deposit on his fake casino and would run away with your money. Anyone with a little bit of common sense would understand that this is just a form of scamming.

It's dumb to trust strangers that came from nowhere with any amount of bitcoin you own. And don't be the one that's falling for their trap like every word they say, you are gullible enough to deposit that amount.

Don't let them dictate every single move that you have to do. Your money is at stake and they don't care on how much struggle you went through for those as long as you will fall for their trap. Don't be careless and don't be greedy when someone tells you will receive certain amount instead make it as a signal for scam.

Use skills properly means you have to work hard every day to achieve good results. Scam is a quick and easy money. It does not require you to grow your business, or risk investment. You just made attempt , another one, even 100. Few of them make you win - that's enough. Scammers always be there, waiting for someone to trust them.

That’s true. Everyone wants to get rich from the latest bitcoin uptrend, so many new scammers, I see a lot of them also but being Familiar with stuffs like this I just ignore. No scammer would scam me of my hard earned Bitcoin, not in this very critical time.

Let them that have ears hear. Newbies, if the preposition is looking too good, run as far as you can, its scammers alert. I hope they get the message clear because I believe greed would still not allow them understand this but once the money is gone, they come back blabbing and putting blames on casino sites. I had a friend who lost a very huge amount of money to such similar incident. This is really rampart but avoidable for the wise.

Title: Re: A new kind of scam in telegram using gambling site

Please try to recall what's that casino so that we have the exact details if someone asks about it in the future, we can give certain opinion that everyone must be wary and can avoid it quickly.

It's a typical style of those scammers that they will try to convince you that you can earn decently by just doing nothing. But the favor always belongs to them while the money will come from you, don't deposit any amount and gamble only with reputable casinos.
The annoying part is when the OP has mentioned he cannot recall the name of the site. I think he is really not smart because even the scamming method is an outdated one and for a gambler that isn’t a newbie, I would have expected he would be smart enough to detect from the very beginning. I have a lot of these messages on my telegram that I do not even pay attention to. People who always end up victims are those that want quick and double money.

The best advice is always remaining with a familiar site. The scammer told him the site is an old site and has been existing for quite some years and yet not familiar, that enough should have given him green light.

Yes, scammer don't care about anything & also not afraid of anything they only care about money & to scam more people is their goals. So we need to review first to be sure  that the sites we enter is not a scam then if we sure its a legit sites  we can do the deposit. Check first, before deposit.

The part where he said that he will make you win is a red flag for me already since winning in gambling is not certain. Possibilities of winning on gambling is low and he can't just make you win :D

I have many basis before investing on this kind of schemes and if I will invest on it, I only give a small amount because the chances of scamming is very high. The best way to prevent getting scammed is JUST DON'T FUCKING INVEST YOUR MONEY!!!.

If I were you, I'll be suspicious at first because you let the greed come into you. There is no such thing as free in this crypto world now, all of them has consequences that are usually unfair. If you really want to win and earn, you must go to the process and grind to be successful. People in that kind of act is a shady thing, it's obviously a scam.

Glad that you don't get scam by him. Yes, we need to be careful from them, and we need to be aware and always search if we get some news that we don't know. Don't click any links we got without doing research. Scamming itself will always search for the new target and usually, they use the new people who don't have much information about crypto or else so they can easily to trick and scam that people. We need always to remind new people so they can be aware too and be careful of any suspicious links or website.

Be always careful because sometimes they have someone too who are messaging me using the telegram and same scenario like you and then he said to me just him a nickname of player of their website and they will going to win that after that I ignore him and he stop messaging me after I blocked him.  Don't trust to anyone like people who wants to scam us.

Every social media at the moment and i the past has doing that , Scammers are not afraid of anything to get on some money from others !
First they they write to give ya something to get your trust and after a while they fucking you up and dont care about it .

Scammers are always there to find new ways to scam. People will approach you through telegram and may ask for some investment in ponzi site or even they try to scam by playing a fake gambling game. We should always be careful as any one can impersonate anyone and try to ask money for help etc.

In every bull market we see scammers getting active to scam the ones who are involved in digital currency. You will find many investment programs will pop up with attractive advertisements to attract the customers. They will perform every tactic to scam people and only the experienced one can avoid their scams.

I have found in my personal experience that telegram is a preferred method of scammers to take advantage of people
Not regulated and nearly impossible to trace the actual owner of a account, its easy for internet scammers to communicate with their victims anonymously and for free with the app
Especially when dealing with something like BITCOIN it becomes very desirable for the app to be used and is very common around here too.

I agree with your opinion, in fact they can change their username, they can change their name to the name of the admin of particular projects, some of them are pretending to be the dev of a certain popular project asking you to send to their wallet if you want to invest, because their hot wallet is not working.

Yes, this is very rampant these days and this actually alarming and disturbing for all who used telegram. The purpose of telegram was hampered because of this scheme that could scam the legit users. We can help the community to be much cautious on this matter by taking further actions, having telegram group that will spread warnings all around telegram community. Gambling site is not liable for this, it's only the scapegoat of the cyber criminals.

Not all though, there are some sites that actually made that within a limited time. Gamblers should really be careful with this, if they got greedy, they might be robbed of their money that they are saving. The last time I watched the news, there is a man from our country that is scammed and invested 5 million pesos from it.

Don't judge quickly because sometimes it happens to me that I can't recall something important. The incident can be popular for most of the people here but it isn't for some, just consider that scenario that this kind of scamming is new to him.

I don't have this kind of message on telegram as I don't use it but on facebook, it's also a place for these scammers so watch out they are everywhere looking for people that will fall for the setup that they've made.

Would be nice to know what the exactly the name is of that Gambling site.
And if they have some kind of Users here on Bitcointalk too ,
and we can ask about the things or if there is a proof of that , we can tagg them or create a Flag to the Account.

i think its useless to tag them because they can always create another group or site to scam people again and again  . its no use to warn people because there are still hard headed people that will risk even if they already the know that the group or the site is risky  . its thier fault and we cant do anything about it  . scams and frauds can be easily detected if you are a wise and smart person  ,  i have been in the space for along time but i never got scammed  .
Yea you have a point but then tagging them would make them feel a little bit threatened. Although this really doesn’t change a thing since there will always be people that would fall for scam irrespective of what they have seen or heard.

Even though the mentioned, the offer will still be tempting and greedy people will always want to give it a trial. I have also been gambling for a very long time and not one single fraud experience have I witnessed. It doesn’t mean that I don’t see them but I am far wiser than that. Most times I laugh reading messages on my telegram because their tactics are always very similar and can easily be noticed.

The most important part you have been missed it and that is Gambling Site Name, Unfortunately you forget it, but i a surprised on it that you remember it that once gambling site scam you and also you are advising us but you already missed it.
So i aware you, remember it next time, if any gambling sites try to scam you. Actually, we know that a lot of trust-able gambling sites are working in this forum, so you should come in this forum and play in these sites.

Yes this kind of tactic would really caught the attention of those who are greedy enough to gain profit without even hesitating.
But for us who are old enough to know those kind of tricks it wouldn't work anymore with us.
And besides people shouldn't really trust the people they meet on telegram I also encounter the same problem back then,
The scammer tried to scam me using an trusted bounty manager profile and name on telegram and asking to borrow some BTC or ETH because he is on a meeting or something.

All scammers are saying that we will instantly win unexpected amount. As of now, there are many senders at my telegram account saying that I won their tokens. I just need to paste their private keys and open their website. All of them are scammers. I never truste anyone of them since I know first of all that cryptocurrency as well as the social media embedded with it are full of scammers.

For me, this is not new. There are a lot of scammers out there keep sending a private message in telegram social media platform that can easily delete a conversation, change a name or either delete their name. They used a gambling site that pretending they have access and make you win when you are registering the site and made a deposit. Gambling sites that published here in the forum are trusted enough but when someone has given you a link that comes from private chat then you must be careful because maybe it has a malware that can lead you from hacking.

Thanks for sharing this mate though I have encountered something like this weeks ago but I didn’t take it seriously since I already knew it was scam, but bringing it up here is a big help for others specially those noob and greedy cryptonians that can be blinded by big offers of winning.

In our case lucky that we have already an idea of what this hackers intentions but others not so basically this must be spread to the community as well
This is no longer new at all. There are many multiple complains. What they do is to impersonate the admins and if anyone can actually fall victim f not careful because they n be so tricky with their ways.  Please bear in mind that not everyone that is being scammed is greedy. I think it’s important to correct that notion.

A good friend of mine was scammed some weeks back and according to him, it was really difficult to detect it was scam because it really looked very real. The simple ways aside not being greedy is to learn the tricks in detecting scammers account. There are so many of them around this period mainly because of the little rise in Bitcoin.

Although from experience, there’s always an element of greed in any scam occurrence.

Its not like those who get scammed are not aware of familiar sites, but because this new sites offer good bonuses, they choose to stick with them and that’s always one major cause of scam. I believe no one would ever fall victim if scam anymore because everyone in one way or the have been scammed and have learnt from the mistake.

Indeed this incident is obviously a scam attempt, good thing op didnt bite the offer.

Its quite common nowadays to have such an offer which is too good to be true, and if you're not careful you might really end up as a victim of these scammers.

Its better not to entertain if someone approach you offering a huge earnings if you invest or something related, especially those who are asking for you to pay first.

When someone send PM to me that I don't expect, its usually something sketchy. I'd rather entertain and deal with someone whom I'm the one who initiate the conversation. Too good to be true offers are usually what it is. We have seen enough scam in crypto including the ones we thought legit today may not be legit the next day.   You gamble in the casino site and the scammers gamble to scam.

I also encounter this one. Lol. I already know it was scammed but I just want to have a conversation since I was bored that time and maybe he is using many accounts to scam people so it doesn't matter to me whether his name and picture are him. So, I just ask him to lend me first because he was asking for $50 deposit and he can make it $500-$1000 a day. And I told him "wow that's pretty big earnings" and then I told him to lend me first and I will give him the $50 in return when I win the game(since he told me that he will going to pick me to become the jackpot winner) and in the end he gets mad and irritated.

Don't waste your time to entertain those people they do their best to scam other people.  Block them once they message to you like that.
The reality until now many people are blind about this and still send money to them even they know that is scam.
But now that strategy is not new because many scammer do that and ignore everything about them.
Easy to say but not all people do have that kind of mindset. As a scammer point of view, you would really make things

which make it a worthy shot and hoping that there are fools that would take up the bait.Less chances but for sure there
are dumbs that would be hooked up.

I wouldn't believe people are being scammed by such baits, butnI guess that if the scammers continue to do that, then they must be having at least some success.... which makes me sad about the level of stupidity our world has in 2019.

Don't click on the links given by telegram group who offers gambling links. You might fall into their trap and would steal your personal details on your computer of mobile phones. Gambling site only their escape goat, but in reality they're scammers who would snipe for victims using virtual world.

Good way of thinking, next time when someone is trying to convince you to do something think about what they have to gain from it and what you have to lose

That's it. If we don't have knowledge about scamming activities, will easily put them into their bait, such a fool thing. Yes, we might say that this is an old fashion scamming events but somehow, they can still catch someone.
We don't have to put at risk into this scamming activities even it offers huge returns cause it in the end, we are the one who suffered loses and regrets.

That would really be scary, though I don't have enough information that are considered necessary stored in my computer, I'm aware that when you click on something, they might steal your information, though technically speaking, I don't have any idea how they do it, I just heard and I follow the advise.

Scammers and thieves are getting smarter, if we are not aware, we might fall to this kind one day, so it's important to continue to educate ourselves on whatever field of interest we are at now.

This is no longer new at all. There are many multiple complains.

Exactly. We should make a research first before falling to that site after making sure that it's legit. This is becoming rampant already not just online but also even in real casinos too.So we should avoid being a victim by being knowledgeable in most cases so that we can't be easily lured by anyone around the corner.

I met on Telegram similar scammer. He introduced himself  like a casino workers and .I had the same proposition of wining big money on numbers what he will give me
That casino site was really poor i have blocked him after 10 min of conversation because he was really to much aggressive
Typical Telegram scammer
Good that you are mentioning people about that kind of fake activity on Telegram

Of course this is not wise to send money to any site you even don’t know first of all you need to know the people who, you are gambling with then make research and also them how much they are going to invest for gambling, them put your amount, some scammers will show you green garden and when you invest money they even don’t contact you, so don’t trust anonymous websites.

Even other expect gambling I will not believe them and I will never send any fund if I don't know them nicely. There many well reputed gambling website and we could play easily with crypto-currency. So I don't think it's very necessary to send fund other by telegram even there is too much greedy offer.

It wouldn't be weird if I say I have been through this already. The scammer told me the same thing i.e. to deposit the amount and gamble on his site and he would make me the winner.
What I said him was why doesn't he himself create another account and make himself as the winner. To this he later replied that his IP is already known to his colleagues and so he can't do this.
I told him to use a VPN to which he was thrilled and then I told him that I know he is a scammer to which he blocked me. Funny isn't it ?  ;D ;D

I have experienced multiple users PM-ing me with different reasons that they have said that they have this balance in an unknown exchange and saying that you need to register in that and that's it. If you are not aware of the possibility that it's a scam, you could get victimized. They usually target people through Telegram, and you would be surprised that they are just going to PM you out of nowhere. Maybe somewhere in a group that you are in.

I think everyone has experienced that, but it's up to the user to not get scammed. If you believe that it's too good to be true, it probably is. That's the main thing that you have to consider and to think about most of the time.

Rightly said. I never play any such games on telegram as many people fraud on that platform. A better approach is not to look for new ways of gambling and stick to the trusted sites. Secondly many people approach you on telegram with different types of offers etc. We should never fall for anything which seems unrealistic.

Yes, you are right. The scammer will try with many ways to trick people so they can get access to get their money with easy. Sometimes they will give a link that you need to open but that link contains a malware that will infect your computer with a strange code that only they know. Once we get into their trap, we could lose our money without we realize. I heard many bad stories about that and I still try to be careful because I have a bad experience with the scammer in the past so I won't get the same experience.

If you're telling your instinct that it is a scam, it is probably a scam. You see, there are different ways to convince people some may use different techniques just to make us fall for their flowery words. They are using anyway in different areas like telegram, gambling site, Facebook and any other place to message us. Just always be careful before deciding to take a risk of depositing any btc amount to a certain user especially when you only met him/her now.

Maybe that is true because telegram has been used for many projects and many of them have scammed many people too. I think people need to set their telegram account not to receive a message from the strange person and it could get banned from our account. And you don't have to spread your telegram id or your telephone number to public or another person who you don't know.

His approach is so so so very dumb and will just block him the first time I'm seeing the message, and not without throwing some bad words at him. It's become the order of the day, strange users sending random messages to users, hoping they get to defraud one or two, they usually come in disguise of one discount or the other, I think this sort of scams has become too obvious and only a very few percentage of users can fall for it.

What I do is to simply block users who send me such messages, I do not even try to engage myself in any conversation with them, I immediately report spam and block.

This is why I don't use telegram, as far as everyone's concern. Scamming and fake people are rampant there, you wouldn't know on who are the truest unless you really know that person personally.

Whether you block those people, they will keep coming though it's a must to stop getting annoyed with those people. They always have something to offer you at the beginning while in social media, a random guy will add you and will ask you something about bitcoin or casino.

This cannot be tolerated and every telet users should be aware of this kind of scheme by online cyber criminals. Transact only gambling at their betting sites and don't deal with unofficial telegram groups whose not legit.

That's very important to be aware of the gambling platforms who tried to communicate with you, much better if you're the one who definitely have the interest in dealing with Gambling site; not through ads in telegram.

I think that this has already taken place and the telegram has become a very popular place for fraudsters.  I think that the users themselves should fight this phenomenon and block the scammers and not even start talking to them.  But the owners of the groups that make possible the publication of the attackers are also guilty.

For how many times that I was being PMed by random users?automatically they will be listed on my blocking’s and also reporting as a spam, those groups that I was added without my knowledge are automatically reported as well

Sometimes reading their messages will only awaken your greediness so better not to read and just report them right away

I have used telegram already for how many years and I have experienced many fraudsters already there. They are lurking most of the time on the Telegram Channels of different ICO's. If you have a problem, they will just PM you out of nowhere and offering some thing that can help you but in the end they will just get your private keys or sometimes money. They are stupid idiots.
Indeed, they are just around and waiting for new victims if you are not sure about someone who's sending you private message never bothered to
reply back and show that you are interested with his message, it's better to ignore than to become a  victim and risk something from you.

A few months ago, the Yobit exchange official telegram group was deleted and the admin account was banned permanently from telegram as far as I know. If someone from a random group sends bulk promotional messages, the system detects it as spam. If the majority of pm receivers report the spam then that account will be deleted.
I didn't know about that so that's what people must do, you should report those telegram groups and if the authority of telegram finds out that scam, they will soon ban it to their system.

At last, there's a way to stop these scammers if they will continue doing things like this. Telegram should do a cleaning on their platform itself and remove these accounts that's priority to scam.

And the best weapon is blocking or reporting as spam right?

For how many times that I was being PMed by random users?automatically they will be listed on my blocking’s and also reporting as a spam, those groups that I was added without my knowledge are automatically reported as well

Sometimes reading their messages will only awaken your greediness so better not to read and just report them right away
Yeah that is the best think to do when a random person just sent you a PM and offering for help.

Those newbie investors are the ones who can easily be scammed by these scammers so the best thing to do is to verify if they are really the admins of the ICO you invested. If not then just report and block these stupid scammers.

As long as there will be staffs that will tune in to this single problem that their platform is tackling every single day, the scammers will eventually stop if most of their created accounts will be banned or erased by telegram staff.

Needless to say, for those users of the platform stay vigilant and just like what your parents have been telling you all of the time. Never trust a stranger in that platform.

Right. Be sensible on whatever decisions you take because once a mistake is committed, it will never be undone. There are a lot of scammers around just waiting for a perfect timing to lure people and put them in his own pocket. But if we learn how to avoid them, then scamming will be slightly reduced.

I know what you are talking about Pal(PARE), perhaps this is the site of gambling you are referring with https://bigzluck.com/, I think there are many of them, because they chatted me on my telegram with different account name but same offer, just like what you had stated in the above those person for sure once you've deposit they will block you instantly 100% due to they get what they want, imagine the minimum deposit was 0.5 eth and they will offer you in return for 1000$ every time you win, that's insane!

in Telegram fraud is very common
It's become the order of the day, strange users sending random messages to users, hoping they get to defraud one or two, they usually come in disguise of one discount or the other, I think this sort of scams has become too obvious and only a very few percentage of users can fall for it.

What I do is to simply block users who send me such messages, I do not even try to engage myself in any conversation with them, I immediately report spam and block.

And keep in mind also, any professional platform will never send messages via telegram privately. There are already many scam modes like this, such as in telegram, ICO, IEO or other fundraising groups. Various scammers use admin-like names to cheat.

Aside from that one should never ever believe on good things that scammer will offer. All good offers are impossible to achieve especially if it offers big percentage of profit. No one has ever done good offer without having to work for it hard. Just always remember that there is no fast and easy money here unless one is a business man to.which money work for him/her and not him/her work for money.

It is always to be always careful all the time than having regret in the near future.

Fortunately, I already get a bad experience with that, so I report his account in my telegram, and I hope that he will get a ban and never scam people again. Some people have already sent PM in my WhatsApp too, but I ignore them because I know that the scamming will try many ways to trick people.

These people has the money to invest, but they want to earn money not just for themselves but also for his or her family, they are that closr to desperate and then they heard or read that they can earn good money, obviously, they will invest. Even if you are the most smart person ever, if the timing is right, you can be one of those people that will be scammed.
A scambug will be a scambug what ever the would be. And those reasons that you have stated are still not a valid reason to scam other people. I don't think as well that op reported that person as I think he have lose his interest towards the topic after posting.

That is why everyone should have to be careful dealing with someone on telegram. They should know the account of those people in this forum so you can immediately report them

Without anything specific never get into any of the telegram channels. These days Telegram channels play a big role in the marketing of projects as well different services related to cryptocurrency. Gambling too isn't an exception, so with this there are people who keep track of users and make them get into gambling and spend on some scam websites which will be owned by the scammer.

I can agree with this since most of the bounty campaigns are launched here on the forum so automatically they have a Bitcointalk account already. You can ask them to PM you using the user that posted the bounty campaign or the ANN thread.

Aside from this, the best thing to do is to just ignore the user and block them if you think they are scammers.

Ignore them is the key, don't be greedy if you heard higher returns then don't believe on that. Telegram is so easy to used for scamming, there's a lot of trolls on that spamming the group or what. Its good also to make your account more secure set your setting not to allow anyone to invite you on the group without your approval and also don't spend the money without any assurance.

You must  have a free mind and that is why you have never be scam in cryptocurrency maybe through investing into a scam icos or into projects that the developers absolutely abandon! I have lose money in investing and I don’t think it deals with smartness or dullness but about risk. Remember that scammers are always smarter than any one and they know how to manipulate people’s mind.
In The area of tagging the scammers with reg or neg trust I think this forum fight many scammers through that and even though they are opening a new account we have see that if those accounts are find out the dt member do negative trust them too.

It's the best solution to block them but sometimes we as users keep on entertaining them and we have time to talk with them. As you guys talk with them, you are starting to become gullible with everything they say because they all talk about money which is the weakness of most.

Well, trust no one that's the rule if you are here in the forum. Its hard to believe to someone on which you do not
know personally. Especially in social site like telegram were most of the time is the nest of the scammers to scam others.
Always ignore and block them if they try to send you message.

I laughed a bit with this statement of yours. There are some investors who have a common sense (at least a bit) but the problem is their are ignorant and what is on their mind is "how to grow their money in a quick and easy way". This mindset of some investors lead to them getting scammed. Being ignorant is the reason why they are scammed. Invest on books and videos first before investing your money in an actual investment.

Well, It starts also on the platform used by the suspected scammer, because it says on "TELEGRAM", what kind of person will acknowledge some stranger on telegram because it's so easy to create account on telegram, easy as 1,2,3 and just send some people random message and some fake proof about you offering something. The platform or medium used by the scammer to find some victim already the hint if they are legit or not.

But this is just only alarming for all, even you are newbie or not because if you are a newbie in crypto, you are not looking and interested in investing to a gambling site, I can say that you are much more interested to play on a gambling site.

That is reason why scammers still keep get what they want. We as human will always have our senses. But feel greedy and like what LogitechMouse said, nature of people who always want something easy and instant which make them take that shortcut and then regret about it.

I guess that someone from the same group you have been added you to that new channel. I think this what happens if you don't know the group but you will find out that you are into it not knowing on whom added you.

If you have seen that you have joined another group without your permission, just leave that group immediately before someone approaches you to ask for an unusual thing which can result to a scam attempt.

But if I would guess, the scammers might have harvested user ids from a public telegram group and sending out these texts or whatever it is they send trying to find people that will fall for their scams.

Side note, the easiest way to avoid these people is tighten your privacy settings to private messages from people not your friends.

Devs will not message you in telegram. Probably they see your account in the community of other platforms and will send you a PM. It's very unprofessional if they will do that and It's very obvious that its a shady action. It's easy to create a dummy account on telegram because you'll just buy a new number then register it to a telegram. Never trust people especially on a social media platform.
