Title: Will there be an altseason this year?
Post by: old fart on June 27, 2019, 12:09:25 PM
Bitcoin seems to be having a jolly ride this year, and the alts aren't following suit, just a little gains here and there. And with the increasing percentage of bitcoin dominance which is now over 60%, do we see the alts pulling massive gains this year?

The momentum with which alts rose in 2017 seems to be catapulted by worldwide FOMO which is not even happening in 2019 as everyone has learnt their lessons

Many who talk about altcoin will soon increase again. Because before it was indeed a very extraordinary Bitcoin increase. And altcoin maybe by the end of this year many predict will be very good. So I believe altcoin will find the right way and time to get up.

I think Altcoin will also show positive steps this year, don't hesitate with Altcoin. now the altcoin just hasn't shown active movement. only the altcoin has the potential and in the top 10 has an increase in movement, but the altcoin time is still long and will follow the bitcoin trend.

I still think altseason will eventually arrive, just that it won't be like the last time. There won't be insane increases, basically for every single alt out there. I think it'd be more like a general boost to some of the top 100-150 coins, with a handful doing really well.

But it'll require btc to stabilize first. And it's also possible alt season will be really short, or won't occur until the end of the year.

No one knows for sure but if I have to judge by past histories it takes time before altcoins start surging in price ,I think its right after bitcoin hits its all time high but I'm less worried since bitcoin halving is still in 2020 I don't mind waiting till then

There is always hope for alts to move as well, i think market has to grow over 1 trillion in volume this time around before alts will pump seriously this time around this is because btc will grow over previous highs first and then the effect will be transferred to others.

it's too soon to assume that this year altcoins will give meaningful speculation like last year, which I see most of the increase this time is meaningless at all. Maybe, they are planning something to welcome the recent increase in ATH bitcoin in the future or inversely.

The altcoin season is not far away in my opinion.
When you analyze tge previous cryptocurrency market data and price trends, you will discover that the major coins like BTC will first pump to a certain level before the altcoins will join in the trend at a even faster rate.
Now is the ideal time to stack up on altcoins especially the ones that are really undervalued at the moment like zilliqa and cardano

I think altcoins will grow this year, my prediction is that in the fall they will start to grow very much, and Bitcoin will either stand still or fall

But today if you look at the price chart Bitcoin alone fall down 20% in the market. But all kind person is level fall is very much slow when compared to Bitcoin.
I am sure even altcoinsprice also will grow in the market in coming days so be careful and choose the best cryptocurrencies which you feel that can increase the portfolio. Let's hope ethereum will rock in upcoming bumps...

Definitely altcoins will soon follow the upward trend it is just a matter of time, once bitcoin stables then altcoins will follow. So it is better to take advantage of it now to fill your bags up for the altcoins season.

Almost all coins are red. We may never really see that going to happen ever unless there is someone out there stupid enough to pump up all the altcoins. I'm gonna sell the ones I have been keeping, I started with the BTT that I have been holding. I did try transferring my BTC to another exchange from binance, but they seem to have forbid withdrawing for risk management. I don't know how they see it but they did disallow withdrawing.

I think the altcoins will still show good growth, you just have to wait for this moment. Now it’s time for Bitcoin, many have sold their altcoins to buy Bitcoin. But we can only assume, and the future will show how the market will behave.

Only if Bitcoin hits new ATH. There should not be new ATH for Bitcoin this year, but last months were showing as it could happen. When AHH happens, hype will start and  fresh money will start pouring into Bitcoin and latter also in altcoins.

seem like alts are dead and would never recover. I have 5 alts in my portfolio and they are at the same level as they were when Bitcoin was 3900$. Right now it is 11,000$.
Some alts will still give a good daily growth, but just 1 from 100 and you would never guess :-\

Until there is a stable bitcoin rate, you should not wait for the growth of altos.  Since the whales have not yet decided where it is better to keep their money to earn.

Potentially pump&dump coins will also get the less portion in the bull market too. The possibility of altcoin season increases every day, so there is a reason to buy a small market cap coins. Big market cap will not rise more than X3, X5 and new traders should avoid investing in the scam small market cap coins in all costs.

Sure there will be when bitcoin goes higher and higher, but finding the right coin will be really hard task and also not every good coin is going to increase so we need to select few good coins and invest as much as we can by the end of bull run we are going to be highly profitable.

Altcoins might not pull massive this year and that means it might not be market as usual. Every coins and tokens have to chat another part for there growth instead of depending on Bitcoin for that. Before when bitcoin is growing every other coins will be doing the same but now Bitcoin has left them behind and is dominating the market now.

I don't expect altcoins season any time soon ,not even this year or the next ,this might be the time when altcoins should start depending on themselves instead of bitcoin ,its time investors should start picking altcoins for how good they are not how much profits they will  bring

Bitcoin is down now and it is of my opinion that it will now rise with altcoins when it begins to rise this time around. But in any way, let's all help the king of all cryptos to cross the 20K borderline and then the mainstream will come in looking for cheaper coins that will double easily for them when altcoins will be the best option to buy so let's wait patiently.

Already today, Bitcoin correction was very strong, and I think that now you should not think about how altcoins will behave themselves. better just start investing in different coins

Well, I am also thinking the same, hoping for a breakthrough in alts too. Usually as it happened before, alts prices went along with the rise in bitcoin price but we’ve notably seen already the rise in bitcoin price but altcoins are still below. I really don’t know what will happen to some altcoins I am keeping an eye on in the future.

It is looking increasingly unlikely that the bullish run for altcoins will come this year. Bitcoin has broken away and causing altcoins to bleed profusely. Unless there is a major correction in btc prices, it may be difficult to have the desired movements from other cryptocurrencies. However, there could be a major turn of events leading to a proper bullish market. Fingers crossed....

I don't think so and I couldn't analyze better predictions due to slow movement of the alts this middle months of the year. Hopefully this will start some recovery actions which could give us more signals on our blockfolio, but for these few day passed away I can't really figure what will going happen next.

It will likely happen but it will not be huge, so much for bitcoin that altcoins refused to pump, seeing btc at $13500 and btc still around $350 which is a deviation from what it was in 2017. With a fairly stable price of bitcoin, we can see a boom in altcoin

There will be but there's no clue when that time will exactly come. "Massive", how massive that it would be base on your expectation? I'm thinking about not so high but it will become better as altseason is at hand. Today, bitcoin plunged 10% and I think this is the refueling for that pump.

Altcoins seems struggling to catch up the Bitcoin's movement. By seeing the BTC movements, many investors sold their altcoins to buy Bitcoin, even I did the same thing! Because at the end of the day, everyone wants a good profit! But I believe the altcoins season will come very soon when the BTC price takes a stable price!

There are altcoins that have had more than 100% increase, which I feel is  enough to say that the rally was also felt significantly by some altcoins.
Well, this is not a general growth, but I envisage that such time is almost here. Identifying the opportunity now, will be a good privilege for whoever has been able to access it.

I think it will have a massive gains in altcoin we need a little more patience we know how volatile market is right? It takes time to gain so get the opportunity now that you can afford that altcoins before the massive gain.

Of course, there will but it needs time. At the bitcoin pump, the altcoin will follow the bitcoin's path! Though this year altcoins have a slow growth! Ethereum price should be overcome 800 Usd but it is still under 400$

Bitcoin growth has really overshadowed that of altcoins. It is even clearly stated on CMC, which reports its dominance as being over 60%.
This truly shows that bitcoin is in control and that altcoins will have to wait until the price of btc is stable enough.

That has always been the trend; amidst Bitcoin bull run comes altseason.
I believe it will come but hardly can anyone predict when it will happen. Also, taking a look at the market now, most attention has been on Bitcoin as everyone keeps waiting and hoping for the repetition of 2017.
Nevertheless most altcoins have been performing well while some will I say are waiting for altseason.

Of course, I believe that there will be the altcoin season after Bitcoin price is stable enough or getting side away. In this situation, alts are still struggling and fighting the very volatility condition That is why we must be sure that promising altcoins will always meet the bullrun, but even not all of them.

It's hard to tell that atlcoins will boom this year. If we take a look at the graph of altcoins price this year, it is not remarkable to say altocins will boom. We just hope bitcoin price will be higher and pull through the alts price to increase more and more.

I'm still optimistic of having alt season this year. There are many cheap altcoins now so I think whales are accumulating them. For small holders like me, earning huge profit from bitcoin is difficult. With altcoin it is possible to earn huge profit with just 10% or 20% price increase.

The fast growth by Bitcoin kills the energy of alt season, so I hope for the stable BTC prices. If market gonna stay calm, everything will be okay for the all altcoin IMHO. Ripple and Monero are better than other mentioned coins depending on the risk level of trader. Digibyte is kinda risky for unfamiliar traders, it can be a problem in the future for naive investors.

Bitcoin's price surge are good for the market capitalization of cryptocurrency as a whole but what's currently happening right now is altcoins are left behind even when Bitcoin's price goes up. I believe that when Bitcoin's price stabilizes then that's time for the altcoins to surge.

I heavily invested to XLM and I really don't understand why it is not syncing with the price of Bitcoin.

I think the season altcoins started when btc surged. Since Facebook officially joins this market and larger companies accept bitcoin, the number of newcomers to learn what bitcoin is. This is reflected in the "bitcoin" keyword search results via the Google Trend tool. We have witnessed the milestone of 14k USDT since March 2018. This is a good sign to show that the altcoins season is back strong.

it looks like the altcoin market is just waiting for bitcoin to grow its value. why not think like a BNB or LTC that this year has started their own pump. every coin float should think of it, not just waiting for the market to be driven by bitcoin.
when bitcoin moves then many people sell altcoins for bitcoin, it will be bad for altcoin growth.

ripple and stelar will be replaced by Libra next year. Their marketing machinery cant compete with Facebook. What is Historia Network I have no ideas.  Monero is used and will be used. It is also coin beside etehreum and Bitcoin with most development. Digibyte is a Bitcoin clone? I dont really see much use of it in a see of 1000 other bitcoin clones.

it's normal thinking and there's a high probability that it will happen. unfortunately, how much influence the bitcoin pump has on us cannot know and every asset has a difference. in fact, there are not many who follow the pump from Bitcoin.

Yes that's going to happen, we have new coins in the market that are all performing well, but the one altcoin that we are all waiting for which is  Libra coin is going to make a huge difference in the altcoins, two years ago on Bitcoin's all-time high all altcoins are winner and it will not be different this year.

I am already tired of waiting for this season of altcoins myself. 90% of my cryptocurrency portfolio consists of them. This year, despite the growth of Bitcoin, other coins are not encouraging at all. But I am sure that the altcoin season will start anyway in the summer or autumn.

I have concentrated on a  few altcoins and do not think about the things like alt year. Ethereum and BNB will show the best growth in the second half of 2019, therefore, it is worth investing in these tokens right now.

Bitcoin is actually the master that is currently riding through the crypto market with over 60% of crypto market dominance. We are still in the middle of the year and I am still optimistic that altcoins can still steal the show before the year runs out.

Yes but is going to be very few
Because most people have gave up on Altcoins
And some people are still giving up
But have been checking on one project lately
MPCX exchange have never see anything like that project this year
Their structure, the way they attend to their customers
And people they are partnering with
Am so convince about them
Their IEO is currently on with 30% bonus
And have packed some of it
With time I hope I pack more
Because that project looks like where
I can recover my lost from 💯

While I am optimistic about altcoins rising, I don't see a rise above bitcoin. Bitcoin has always dominated other cryptos, to say that alts will 'steal the show' is not realistic.
However, there are alts that has great potentials to make good gains for investors. One of them is XDMC. At the moment, MPCX is offering XDMC in double IEOs at a very reasonable price of $0.05 per XDMC. The IEOs are simultaneously happening on OOOBTC and ProBit.

The ones on the top managed to do it a little, but the rest did not change much. Consider that all the money turned to Bitcoin, so we should accept it as normal. If Bitcoin recovers, others will also recover. Just wait a little longer.

Well, who knows we might already be in bull run or vice versa and also the price or growth of Bitcoin shows that many investors are going for it big time while only a handful is going up with it, but as it has always been, there will come a time Bitcoin will take a rest while altcoins will pump, but in this case I think only potential altcoins will be able to go up; when it will be is what no one knows.
Nevertheless, this crypto space is unpredictable we can only do our best while the market plays the rest.

Yes, surely alt season will come through. Let's wait for Bitcoin sideways movement, for now a few altcoins are experiencing an uptrend, while many are on the downside. Some altcoins on my portfolio dipped massively about -100% dip but I'm still holding because it's only normal for altcoins to bleed when there is bull run for BTC.  so let's be patient OK.

I want to ask this simple question. What's/who is behind this alt season people always talk about. Is there a time when people will stop purchasing Bitcoins for altcoins?
Or are there a set of people who will begin to just buy altcoins so that the price will increase?

The last time I checked Btc dominance was about 43%, On reading your post, I had to cross check the btc dominance and to my surprise, it has risen to over 62%. Its understandable to think altcoin may be left behind this year, but I still believe that altcoin with a real use case would still find their way to the moon. I  personally have a conviction that projects like MPCX who just secured a partnership with IBM and other blue chip companies would be coming to limelight soon. It would also interest you to know that MPCX  is having an IEO presently where bonuses are up to 40% and tokens going for only 6 cents at OOOBTC EXCHANGE and PROBIT EXCHANGE.

Bitcoin has indeed been on rising stride lately hitting a high of over $13,500. This is remarkably high owing to the fact that the bearish trend has cropped into the market for over a year now. I'm still confident of altcoin, and peculiarly an altcoin like XDMC, whose project has been trending on the partnership secured with IBM and WIZZLE. The project happens to be on an IEO lately on OOOBTC and PROBIT Exchange where the tokens is going for 6 cents with up to 30% discount and other incentives.

The Bitcoin rally has been trending for a while now and i'm yet to understand what necessitated the bull run for bitcoin. Some persons attributed it to the facebook coin - LIBRA. And some said its because of the partnership which MPCX secured with IBM. It's quite fortunate that MPCX is also having a tokensale running presently on OOOBTC AND PROBIT EXCHANGE and the tokens have the capacity to give one an unbelievable percentage of investment return because the team is loaded with experience in investment and knowledgeable to the core.

Bitcoin has always been the king of the coinmarket capitalization, but this dominance of over 60% is something else. Meaning that all the market capitalization of the entire altcoin market is less than 40%. But there's still hope for projects that has a strong user base like MPCX who just secured a partnership with IBM and has been trending lately. The tokensale just commenced and thousands of tokens has been sold. The IEO  is happening at OOOBTC and PROBIT where the token is sold at 6 cents with some incentives. I believe the tokensale would be successful and the project is very viable.

Despite the fact that Bitcoin has been on a smooth uptrend in recent time, I am of the opinion that the altcoin would be joining soonest. Project like MPCX would be making a very huge news lately for its unimaginable increase due to the modalities which have been put in place by the team. Its best to secure some tokens from the ongoing tokensale at OOOBTC AND PROBIT EXCHANGE.

only some alts have pump but majority are still the same , thats the reason why he dont consider this season as an alts season  . he also shows some  suggestions done by his friends and thier strategy is bad imo because when they sell alts for a cheap price they will only loose . its not really worth to sell alts and put the cash on btc just because you see btc is pumping because you wont still earn that much because you must first cover your recent charges  . why cant they just buy a seperate btc instead ? and let thier alts remain on thier wallet ? becuase sooner or later alts can still pump but itll only takes some time .

The answer is we don't know. Maybe we will see something in the next month as we will be in the Q3 of the year so. Usually, the altcoin will move and will start the rally. But once again, we don't know about that, and we could only predict by drawing the chart from many possibilities that might happen later. But the final decision will be on yourself because that is your money and you will decide to invest in the cryptocurrency or not, or you only want to stay and watch the price moves.

We can see an altseason if we can see the bitcoin become like last 2017's bull run. because that time there are so many people who were having a hardtime selling their bitcoins so they transfer it to some other ALtcoins. If we have some panic selling of bitcoins this year there will be a higher percentage of the other altcoins to increase their price.

That's the question which in need of concrete answers and definite explainations. Because as I've seen most altcoins price nowadays was in dumped price value, and I could imagine how it could recover someday. Personally I had holdings myself, and I never expect it to increase this year. I wish there's a possible market rise but not specifically accurate to what everyone has been expecting to happen as well.

You will. That is for sure. If Bitcoin will rally, it is sure that the altcoins will also rally although we cannot be sure when it will come. That is not certain. For as long as Bitcoin is very bullish, it cannot be certain that the altcoins will also be bullish. It is because many of investors will dump their altcoins for the sake of Bitcoin. What is assured in a way is that once the price of Bitcoin is high and the prices of altcoins cheap, there is a huge possibility that massive buying of altcoins will take place.

It is impossible to be sure but probably yes and I hope we are going to see the start of the altcoin bull season in few weeks maybe days.
I think BTC bull run is over for now and people will start to buy altcoins when the market is stable.
HA, this is just the beginning of bitcoin bull run mate, we have not seen anything, the ATH this time around will sure hit close to $50k, and this value is still very low for now, there are so many fundamentals that will still contribute to bitcoin bull run in the long run before we can talk of it consolidating for altcoins to start running their own bulls, we still have factors like the halving of 2020, we still have the face eBook coin release too which is going to also be by 2020.

Before bitcoin bull run can come to halt, I think it will be 2020, and that is when I expect bitcoin to go on consolidation for a very long period, which is during this time that investors pump great amount of money into the altcoins industry, but as we know that it is a speculative market, there is nothing that can ever be 100 percent predicted, so anything can still happen too this year.

What about medium coins? Between the top 100 and shitcoins, there are a lot of assets that will survive. This is a fairly large market share. These coins/tokens will also be pumped. But when will it be? I do not think that in 2019.

Of course the altcoin growth rate this season is quite good, especially major currencies such as ETH, Litecoin, BNB or Dash. This is indeed the crypto cycle that will definitely occur every certain period, because like a swing, the lower altcoin price will definitely rise again someday.
This opportunity is used by investors or traders to get profits because prices cannot be stagnant, every day it must go up or down. Even very fast, in minutes.

I think there will be an increase in altcoins this year, but it will start a little later. Earlier Bitcoin first grew, and only then altcoins. I think we still have to wait.
it looks like the altcoin market is just waiting for bitcoin to grow its value. why not think like a BNB or LTC that this year has started their own pump. every coin float should think of it, not just waiting for the market to be driven by bitcoin.
when bitcoin moves then many people sell altcoins for bitcoin, it will be bad for altcoin growth.

I hope so. But bitcoin crashed already! When it was climbing, altcoin does not moved. But I guess they will be affected right now. Yes, many altcoins depend their increase in bitcoin. However, because bitcoin failed to sustain its price, I think altcoins today will having its difficult to move up. BNB and LTC have their momentum soon as they got some development. But bitcoin is really the driving force of altcoins.

There’s no need to expect for such altseason because all of us knew that they will only follow bitcoins journey,we can see the good movement of Bitcoin while altcoins leaves behind but this is jut effect of the long waiting of the bitcoin investors so they are putting their investments towards this number 1 coin and leaving the altcoin for a while, but when everything turns fine already and the market stabilizes like what 2017 then all the Cryptocurrency will grow together with the rank number one bitcoin

it can happen if there is such an event. but seeing what happened when bitcoin experienced a correction most of the altcoins also followed it. this is different from the pump, I don't know why this event happened. when growing altcoin doesn't follow it but when it goes down, altcoin follows bitcoin.

It will depend entirely on what direction bitcoin takes from now on, if the rally continues it is possible some alts will begin to show some gains as investors begin to speculate a lot more, but if the price remains at its current level or it goes down then the chances for altcoins to appreciate in value will not be very good as people will begin to look for a hedge against the crash and most likely the coins they will use to protect themselves will be stable coins.

This is an interesting question. Because it seems bitcoin is still having a fields day without any desire to pause for a while. Apparently, there might be no altseason this year or rather if it will happen, the duration might just be low

Alt season might be delayed this year due to bitcoin continued uptrend .....

It will be delayed until the 3rd quarter of the year because IMO, if we breach the ATH this 3rd quarter, I'm very confident that in the 4th quarter will be the official start of the altcoins season. We can make our own prediction but I'm hoping I'm still right again this time as I already made a correction prediction earlier that bitcoin will reach $10,000 before the first half ends.

What does the "official start of the altcoins season" mean? Are there any responsible people for altcoin growth? ;D

Despite the fact that I do not agree [The market needs a lot of new money to get the alt-coins to start pumping. To make a lot of new money, the market needs a lot of new people paying attention to the cryptocurrency. I think this will happen a few months after updating Bitcoin ATH. It's not Q4.] with your forecast, I would like you to be right.

I think we will have an alt coin season but it will be limited to major altcoins such as ethereum XRP Waves and maybe few more.
But there will be no shit coin season for sure.
Shit coins are gonna die very fast.

Yes, thy will die because of being useless in the market. We knew that top altcoins will have thei own uptrend next to bitcoin but we can’t tell if its going to start this year or not but I’m confident that top altcoins can go along with bitcoin so make sure you hold those coins and never to hold shitcoins again.

It's hard to hold new types of coins for the next few years because they are only able to survive in just one year and eventually become junk coins. You should take certain actions before you regret later.
Shitcoins have no real use case and these shitcoins serve only one single purpose: To make their owner rich. It is impossible to buy that shitcoin and become rich unless there is the highest level of alt season which affect to each altcoin.

As people become more aware of the crypto market, i think there will be less people who are going to take chances in shitcoins. Bitcoin takes most of the attention now and the market dominance shows that. Though as we've seen in the past, alts will try and make a run for themselves. I didn't think there was a year when btc's dominance was prevailent the entire year.

This year's bearish trend wasn't over yet for the alts, yet so hard for them to gain a commendable market. Searching for that reasons I myself cannot elaborate unto something concrete reasons, but all I am aware is that people were more focused on btc community and for popular coins. I don't don't think so if there could be alt season this year, and I only hope so but not expecting.

It's too early to give up, the altcoin season may not come yet but we are still more than 5 months away before the end of the year.
If we are aware of what happen last bull run, it only happen in less than 3 months and therefore we should not loss our hope now, things can change easily in crypto as we are in a fast pace when it comes to market shift, and we know that FOMO could trigger more buys.

It seems to me that the situation should change only if the cryptocurrency will be implemented worldwide.  In any case, the leading countries of the world should make certain statements regarding the cryptocurrency market and the legalization of digital cryptocurrencies.
the possibility can happen and no one can know for sure the development of any digital currency if all countries have legalized the digital currency the possibility of its development will be rapid

Now altcoin market situation is completely in a downtrend and we might expect this downward trend will continue in the coming days because of the chances of increasing Bitcoin prices is more, once the price of Bitcoin is kept increasing altcoin prices will go down even lower value.

It seems that this year will not for the Altcoins because if Alts has to grown then it had to grow earlier than the Bitcoin. If the Bitcoin price increase above the previous high in the bull of 2017 that is $20,000 then the Altcoins will start to move furiously.

Altcoins are not performing well this year unlike bitcoin that shown growth for the past few months. Some people think btc can influence the price of alts but it didnt happened, alts remain in dip.

Nevertheless this is not permanent, the time will come that altcoins will rise again like what happened early of 2018.

This will be a really long crypto winter, it's what I told people I suspected and everyone just kept saying bull run. For Bitcoin maybe, for altcoins it is a long recovery. Can you imagine people so excited ETH got to $300 and they forgot that this is barely 20% of ATH? This is a crypto winter for altcoins whether or not we want to admit it.

I don't see that altcoin will grow high following the development of bitcoin.
traders are more likely to trade with bitcoin. so it's very natural if the altcoin's growth is very slow and even goes down.
in time bitcoin will tend to be stable and have grown more than its value. then the altcoin growth will happen soon.

Although we are in the downtrend for a long time, I am sure that there will be an altcoin season this year. We need to be optimistic about this so we can keep what we do and we don't give up for searching the profit. Maybe it will be hard for us to survive, but if we can try to search for the profit, I am sure that we can be able to get that. We can make a small profit for a while, and we can keep doing that, and the profit will be bigger than we can get before.

I’m afraid that we will not be seeing more good for alts this year because obviously bitcoin dominates the market for couple of months now and yet no signal that alternative coin has better growth this 2019 but atleast lots of thing waiting in 2020 who’s speculating to be the another season to put a record for the whole cryptocurrency, from bitcoin to altcoins and to tokens as well

The trouble is real, everyone is waiting for the start of the altcoin rocket-run. Speculation is regularly the root of all evil and we never hesitate to speculate for the potentially high-grade altcoins. If Bitcoin dominance drops below the 50% altcoin basket index will reverse and the current market trend will turn to the uptrend. Maybe in 2 years, we will see that expected drop but altcoins will go to the place which they belong.

I think Bitcoin will soon be down to give up the dominance for the top alts. This is not a good time to buy lots of Bitcoin because it will soon fall to 55% dominance.
So I think we should only buy top alts like ETH, Litecoin, Bitcoin cash.

I see a lot of posts where it’s believed whales are only interested in BTC. Bitcoin is much more stable than most alts, but it also means that gains that can be made are also not as high as some alts. When everyone thinks it’s just Bitcoin and alts are no longer profitable, the boom starts. Whales play the mindgames for years now and make huge profits. Should start soon!

I think that you should look at what is happening on the cryptocurrency market in a different plane.  It is Bitcoin that shows good results, despite a slight price reduction in recent years.  The fact is that due to the globalization of the issue of cryptocurrency legalization and the inevitability of solving this problem in the near future, users understand that Bitcoin will come in the first place, and not other cryptocurrencies.  Based on this, users of cryptocurrency sell what they can, and buy Bitcoin.

There is still a chance but not the altseason is hoping for. I have witnessed a lot of delisting of old coins  from popular exchanges so you guys need to check first if your coin is going to make it to the altseason or at least a couple more months. So many people preparing with their heavy bags with losses in value but their wait is going to be in vain if the team abandoned the project and do and exit scam before altseason so be very careful and double check if the project has a strong will to make the project succeed.

He's definitely talking about the months Q4 months i.e the months that end with ber (September, October etc) but the altcoin market will be highly manipulated in those months and those months are the best month to accumulated more utilized, potential and highly supported altcoins with bitcoin before it next year.

No one knows when will be the bull run for all the coins. If there is still issues on the legality of bitcoin it wont go the bull run that we are all waiting for.

I doubt that this season will come. Alts will be growing, but with splashes of activity. I guess, we need to pay more attention to one token, which really has the future, and which will 100% survive whatever happens. It is Ethereum. This is the best investment after Bitcoin that will stay the leader for many years.

Probably, Litecoin and Monero with Dash will be good in the future also.

I expect the alt season this year. Perhaps in September, an active price movement for altcoins will begin. But in any case, you need to understand that the market can be very unpredictable, so always be vigilant. Don't rush to buy all altcoins before you are sure that altcoin season has begun.

Chances are there but not really to be at 100% price growth. Not just because of its market volatility but because investors never been trusting altcoins more than they do in previous bull runs. I know it is accepted into our part but somehow we would like to see more improvements and to see altcoins soaring back high again.

At present there is very minimal chance for the altcoins to reach a higher level growth same as that of the year 2017. The bitcoin market is gaining good support at the moment, and when there is further growth we can expect the altcoins to grow along with bitcoin. This possibly will serve as the beginning of the alt season for the year. If the growth gets taken forward 2020 will be a big year for bitcoin and altcoins.

I'm inclined to agree with you, also historically Altcoins when they pump tend to be far more profitable and the fact that BTC dominance seems to be very slowly declining the last few days makes me think that we will see a lot more green in the top 10-20 Alt prices :)

I hope we not wait alt season so much. By the way behavior of altcoins against BTC make me pessimistic. All of us expecting altcoins will drop when BTC making quick movements in both sides. And then we all expected altcoins will go up while BTC is stabil or making small movements.

Last two month, market showed us that, market condios are not same when we compared to 2018-2017.
While BTC moving up altcoins decreasing. It is acceptable. But when BTC is stabil, there are no good movements from altcoins.
When BTC start to decrease a little, we see high price drops at alts. So I HOPE but I do not think we will see alt season soon.

Watching market from June up to this point?

No there are no indication that alts can move freely without Bitcoins dictatorship as we can see how the dominance of bitcoin never fall higher,%67.7 as I speak and this I still huge compared to 54% in 2018 when alts show some  good growth even without bitcoin pulling them

I think this year wasn’t a good time for altcoins supporters (but some movement can happen since crypto is volatile market)what we can do now is “Bag” how much we can afford to lose and wait for our turn to gain.

June and July are truly the best days of my life. I have witnessed a lot of strong growth from bitcoin and alts. but for now, bitcoin is still the best growth, and the alts are dying because there are not many speculators trusting alts anymore.
This is probably due to the fact that many sharks are seeking to buy more bitcoin in preparation for the upcoming halving event. so they no longer care about alts and just want to push the price of bitcoin higher.
I predict we will see the longest bear market altcoins in history. I think the alts will still be under price until the halving event takes place.

Two events on the cryptocurrency market coincided here, the Whales really want to buy Bitcoin before reducing its production. But another point is that the price of Altcoins is reduced by such a general public, when the dominance of Bitcoin is growing very much.

this year there will be no altcoin season. the market is recovering, and now it's entering Q4. meaning there is no more time for that. we can only hope that next year, hopefully the altcoin season can come in 2020.

this year seems to be the worst year for cryptocurrency. bitcoin fell to $3K, ethereum struggled to get back to $200. and many altcoins die. so there's no way this year will have an altcoin.

Potentially pump&dump coins will also get the less portion in the bull market too. The possibility of altcoin season increases every day, so there is a reason to buy a small market cap coins. Big market cap will not rise more than X3, X5 and new traders should avoid investing in the scam small market cap coins in all costs.

Well last time big marketcap coins surprised everyone. Especially eth. Or maybe you are talking that they get 5x rise in btc value?
That sounds plausible to me for some of them. And i am insanely and some would say delusionally bullish on next btc ath.

But i was so sure the altseason would start this year towards the ath of most marketcaps, that i am now constantly doubting myself on that. Still wishing it would happen though.

Another 2-3 months and Altcoins should grow in price by at least 50%. because now the price is really very low, and the volume of trading is high.
Many analysts said throughout 2019 that the altcoin season will begin in the 4th quarter of this year. Well, we waited for the start of Q4, now let's look at the previously announced predictions. I really hope for their credibility.

Yeah, that's what i fear. When everything seems too obvious it makes me think that something is wrong. Everything pointed to that we have till August to go full in bitcoin (at least in my charts). And alts would start to rise after btc all time high. Now i just need patience to wait if that fullfills and i am more scared then ever (that should be a good sign to invest though) :).

Stick to the Bitcoin and be patient. No altcoin can raise its value as Bitcoin.
It is good to stick in bitcoin since most alts are affected also in what happens in bitcoin. But we must not forget too that there are alts that are worth trading for, especially when the market seems in bloody moment. And as many thread pop having altseason this quarter it can be a good choice to start having or checking alts we accumulated maybe form bounties, and those alts that we have in exchanges for high potential profit.

I must agree that people should stick with bitcoin, cause its the safest possible investment, everything else is has more risks. Only when you think you have enough bitcoin you should try to invest in alts too, but just in some of them and that to be in a long run if its possible. Some alts have huge potential, some interesting projects are under a dollar, stellar is one of them, but of course there are more of them. Each of us should have some good picks among low valued coins and to invest some amounts of money in them, just in case. If you choose good you have potential to make a huge profit.

Many of us altcoin holders are hoping for alts bull season for this year and now we are in Q4, no one knows what will going to happen but since some experts are predicting this will be the start for alts to recover lets just hope it will happen.

Currently btc is also decreasing, I think we have to take this chance to buy btc to hold because who knows the price might increase again in the coming days.

this year there will be no altcoin season. the market is recovering, and now it's entering Q4. meaning there is no more time for that. we can only hope that next year, hopefully the altcoin season can come in 2020.

this year seems to be the worst year for cryptocurrency. bitcoin fell to $3K, ethereum struggled to get back to $200. and many altcoins die. so there's no way this year will have an altcoin.

i think this year is not as bad as you say, and even though we have entered Q4 now, but at least this is still at the beginning of the week which in fact we still have time to close the end of the year. so with this short time i'm sure the season will at least be better than the previous quarter, because even though prices are still struggling to recover but at the moment we can see a change happening
There are always possibilities that the market will begin to show some good run before this year ends. You need to research and find solid projects that is experiencing  sudden downfall because investing will be much exciting once the market starts to bounce and the recovery stage from the bloody market will give you decent profit. It's tough to pick the right coins but there are always possibilities to earn from this industry.

Already by 95% I can say that alt season this year will not be, but in the cryptocurrency maybe, at the moment alts are at the bottom and can not grow

Although it seems impossible this year but there are still hope for altcoin holder's. It just a matter of time and patience everything will align together for their own good. Hodling more of altcoin tokens should be our top priority now while we wait for the bullrun season to happen, probably next year

Bitcoin seems to be having a jolly ride this year, and the alts aren't following suit, just a little gains here and there. And with the increasing percentage of bitcoin dominance which is now over 60%, do we see the alts pulling massive gains this year?

Seems like this year belongs to the bitcoin as it dominated over 66% of the cryptocurrency market as we speak. the entire altcoins market is left with only 33% in market capitalization. The bitcoin alone got over $145 billion market capitalization while the entire cryptocurrency has only $220 billion. thus, I think the altcoins season will come maybe next year 2020.

Many people are optimistic that there will be an altcoin season this year but, I am not so sure if there will be an altcoin season this year? the market still has movement but to call an altcoin season I think this market takes longer. the reason there is no best news for the coming altcoin season this year.

No one knows when will be the next altseason will happen. Were still in a bearish market and no sign of.altseason till the years ends, altseason might occur next year when halving happens.

Since January many of us expected more positive news to come with altcoin in the middle of the year, but it was so sad to see most of altcoins had been declining to a very cheap value. There we're times I used to buy buy what I've dumped, but it doesn't have good results in the end, because it still goes down and no upward trend happening for my alts. So this time I believed there's no possiblity for altcoins to have it's season this year. Maybe next year that would still be hard to acquire a better price, if bearish market still happens.

With the 2 months left, I think the Altcoin season did not arrive in this year, because the signs of the Bullish not been seen at this time, there are only a few Altcoins that have increased prices. The Altcoin season will definitely return, but we have to be more patient.

In 2020 BTC would halve and Telegram will launch its main network, so I believe those announcements would be able to push the market forward and finally launch the bull trend. Till then, buy crypto and be patient.

does not telegram is facing some serious issue now?about their collected investments?i just forgot the thread but i have already seen a big problem that telegram is facing and i think this will hinder the target Launch(but i may be wrong also)
but the halving will really pushes the market to finally make the bullrun fast and give every dreams from two years ago.and if this happen surely all the FUDster will cry for a week since they dont believe the capacity of this currencies to bring fortune

bitcoin price movements are indeed in 2019 not very followed by several other altcoins, and for me also throughout 2019 altcoin is difficult to predict for price movements, it is not easy for myself to be able to gain profits in trading or investing, will but I hope this year there will be a difference in price increases from altcoin and a little can be easy to predict and can be able to profit in trading or investing.

This topic is from the last year, now we can take a look at charts for each coins and check their progress for the past 2019. Some of the coins
gained some value, others dropped. I think we didn't see a bull run as many expected, it's too early for that.
We are in 2020 already. Will we have alt-coin season this year? Nobody can answer on that, we need to trust and be patient.

It seems increasingly unlikely that this year will come the bullish run for altcoins. Bitcoin has broken away, causing heavy bleeding in altcoins. It may be difficult to have the expected movements from other cryptocurrencies unless there is a major correction in btc prices. A major turn of events, however, could lead to a proper bullish market. Hopefully will happen.

We all hope that this will happen, but unfortunately the falls are still very dangerous and unfortunately still likely. If the price of Bitcoin drops more, then definitely a lot more altcoins will simply die and never rise again. Certainly top100 will survive, but it is not known how many of them will ever reach new ATH.

We are not even certain if those alts who can survive the bearish trend can reach a new ath for this year since we dont know if bull run is coming for alts or until when we are going to wait.

Currently btc price is improving, hopefully this can turn the price of alts upward. Some investors chose to stick to btc because of the halving, they believe it can have a positive impact to btc price.

Bitcoin cash and BSV don't count as they're both P+D shitcoins  ;D

Agree this year 2020 is an altcoin season because bitcoin also will increasing so altcoins will follow. And i know that this year is a very good to those who buy bitcoin and altcoins when the price is broken. Now is the year that all are recovery and have good results. Stay positive and always believing.

I hope what you say is true.. I am personally very optimistic that this will be a good year for Altcoins, just look at a lot of Altcoins that grew more than 40% at the beginning of this year..  it looks like this will be a very good year for Altcoin.

As we not have altseason in 2019 we all wait for it this year 2020 and who know maybe we will have it sonner or later this year, maybe only after bitcoin halving, we all wait a new ATH for most altcoins and also to sell some altcoins for profit and not in a loss.

BTC dominance is getting lower day by day and BTC accumulation is increasing, everyone hoping to see an altseason soon. Even most of the top alts are getting good volumes and may rise with Bitcoin going sideways. The market is still bullish and BTC is having a strong support at 8800$ mark. Last time we had seen a great rally by alts with Bitcoin leading the way. I dont think it will be like that this time but people will buy only those projects which may have some significance.

We are already into the new year which is 2020 and it also means that we are all having new hopes and expectation for what will happen into the whole cryptocurrency industry for this year round. Since we have already seen and observed after a couple of days and weeks of this first month of the year that the price of Bitcoin show an increase, we maybe all suspecting and expecting that the same thing will happen into the part of Altcoins as well. Well, I am also do expecting that Altcoin season will happen this year 2020 for the reason that I am not just holding Bitcoin in my account but also Altcoins as well which is for me will be beneficial if both cryptocurrencies will have an increase this year. We are just getting started this year so we still have a lot of time to witness what will happen into the Altcoin market. Let us just hope that the failed expectation last year of Altcoin season arrival will make happen this year which I guess be favorable to all of us.

If the market continues to grow until spring, it is likely that we can see altseason this year, because the market has been at the bottom for a very long time, and now it has started to rise sharply up.
