Block reward for Litecoin will half from 25 LTC down to 12.5 LTC in less than 6 days
Will we see extreme volatility as we get closer or business as usual?

The pump has already occurred. Against BTC, the exchange rates increased by 120% during January-April 2019. However, the coin lost most of its gain during the last 2-3 months, as the Bitcoin dominance increased. The prices have stabilized as of now, but if there is a lack of demand, then you can expect the exchange rates to go back to the previous levels.

We will not see that but more miners will be going out from litecoin blockchain to another coin because it's not worth anymore to mine litecoin.
Miners will try to calculate their profit again, charlie already made a statement about that and there will be a possibility to the litecoin blockchain to be slow for a while caused by the migration of the miners.
The price will remain stable but that will increase shortly after the blockchain has done with the halving.

LTC already pumped early before the dip afterwards still based on the halving news. Well, this halving coming soon might cause FOMO but I doubt since BTC dominance is still invoke. I think there might be a slight pump anyway, but overall LTC is a good hold for long term considering the great project development so far.

As a rule, the burning of coins leads to a positive rate, only if it rises to the price that you make it, only time will tell.
Now it’s worthwhile to think about buying a coin, but it’s worth deciding on the investment, since the cryptocurrency is unstable.

Although litecoin has grown nicely in value from last few months but i would have loved to see more fomo and hype surrounding it right now and i would want to see superior upside volatility at this time before the actual halving as this would have put good positive effect on overall market as well and it would have set stage for btc halving which is coming in mid next year but im positive that ltc will keep growing post halving and it is an outstanding event for reducing supply and increasing both demand and value.

I see (far) too big expectations on Litecoin having. Most probably the price will not double overnight and most probably this will lead to quite a number of disappointments.
But what do I know? Oh well.. time will tell.

What I expect for this upcoming halving for Litecoin isn't going to be the same with bitcoin that it will shoot up its price so fast. It's on sale right now and we've seen it pumped like crazy over the months ago and I think those were the best time to get in. I'm positive with this halving and the effect might come after few more months. It wouldn't be an instant pump but it will definitely come at the right time.

hopefully there is a big pump for litecoin. I've bought quite a lot yesterday. I hope after halving later, the price of litecoin can be more than 100$. this will be a big enough profit for me. I bought a lot of LTC, because I always saw every coin that was halving there would definitely be a pump afterwards. so I ventured to buy a lot.

The thing is, it's not rumour, it's news.

What generally happens in this sort of situation is that the change has already been priced in. Often coins dump a bit once the event actually takes place. This is because everyone thinks halving=price increase, so they start buying as soon as the first credible rumours emerge. Once it becomes official, everyone has already bought in, and are now waiting to dump to make profit.

Of course it may not happen that way this time, but that's often how it works.

Definitely, Litecoin price will pump up after the halving but it's hard to know pump up to how much.
There is a correction after price pumps up so better make sure get out at right time.

Halving always causes price increase and I hope market conditions are going to allow this to happen, because all altcoins are pretty silent this year and I believe this halving will cause a nice boost not only for LTC but for major altcoins in general.

Usually altcoin price goes up based on hype and news before the event.
We are very close to his event, and no significant movement in price.
So there is very little chance that there will be some big price movement.

Most people have priced in the coming halving into the price of Litecoin and I don't really expect any price movement in price, Litecoin is one of the best performing coin this year and the reason is that buy the rumor sell the news, I think any price action would be after the mining event and the reduction in reward start telling on the miners

So many of us waiting for this halving event. Many people believe that LTC prices will have fluctuations, particularly heavy increases. But so far the price has been falling and it seems that it has not escaped this short-term downtrend.

I think investors and Litecoin businesses will also buy back and push LTC prices higher. Because if they let this situation go on forever, I think they will lose a lot of miners and the process of processing the blocks will also slow down.

Litecoin halving is a good example for Bitcoin halving. If LTC price growth a lot, then we will have a proof that halving really affects the price.

The name is not real use. Real use means that it can be used for something what no other coins can be. Name is just a name. IF coin is named better that gold, that is no use case. If it is better then gold then it is a good usecase.

Usually halving time market may not bump and dump bigger it takes certain time to settle in the marketplace for sometimes. This is how usually we see at the time of bitcoin halving.

If you are holding LTC you should understand that there is some huge profit on its way.

One thing is certain about the litecoin halving,miners reward will be very low and miners may have to find other coins to mine since litecoin wont be profitable anymore but im sure that litecoin value will increase after the halving

that's not certain, it all depends on how much they pay for electricity. I think there's still some leeway for some miners, even if the price doesn't rise.

I think the effect of the coming halving is already showing gradually in the market because the transaction fee of LTC is getting averagely high already probably because of more transactions that is happening within the market. So, this halving will really play a very significant role in the life of many investors of Litecoin.

Let us wait and see what the price of Litecoin will pump to, but the only fear I have is if the price of Litecoin pumps, majority of investors that has waited for so long will want to dump their coin which may make the value to even drop below the current value it is now, and I would not want the value to dump further because it will not be so much healthier for the market again, and Litecoin may not gain much increase when the altcoins season comes.

with litecoin halving we may expect ltc prices to get massive pump ltc may touch 300 dollars by this year end considering all its developments

Thats great to hear but you dont give any advice about buying ltc today and onwards so that we cannot miss those good oppurtunity that can probably come ahead   . im not a fan of ltc so i wont grab this oppurtunity for now knowing that im also in a tight budget these days  .  i guess i will save up and wait for the main event , specifically next year when btc halving is about to take place .

Do we really mean halving should detate the price of ltc due to its reward base ? I dont think that suppose to be so as market right now still very much at bear stage and btc surge will surely affect the price , so it will be very good to have double of the profit and that only reason they hope tonpumpnthe price .

i have to admit that i am very disappointed in litecoin. it has defied all the expectations that everyone had from it by not getting any pump at all. it had a small rise just as other altcoins did with the bitcoin small price rise but that was it. we were all expecting a big pump to at least go up 2x because of its halving just like it did in the past but i guess the pumpers have been so busy pumping the smaller coins that they had no interest in big coins like LTC anymore.

in less than 3 days the halving litecoin will occur, but I haven't seen an increase in demand. I was hesitant to buy this time, I'm afraid after halving later the price does not rise.

How you could not see an increase in demand?  Open coinmaket cap and check how much was LTC in BTC a year ago. 0.0102 and now is 0.0088. So 14% drop.  Now open other coins and see how much they dropped. You will see most lost 50%+

I hope so. Litecoin will increase maybe after the halving happens, but we never know about that. Gladly, I already prepare my litecoin too since the last year which litecoin price is down deeper. And although I still buy more litecoin, I don't buy a lot of because the price now is starting to increase. I wonder what will happen in the next 5 days.

Since the beginning of the year, LTC's price increase has not been without any reason. The explanation by the devs and the approach of halving affected the price considerably. Nowadays there is a little pause and this is normal, even after halving it may go down.

Buying now is not a satisfying idea because the price is reflecting the halving. Top coins have no correlation with Litecoin halving and the growth percentage of the top coins will no be the alike price of the Litecoin.
It should go down, the market will not forgive the late traders which wants to buy a cheap LTC for selling later on the higher price.

The halving of litecoin didn't really show what is needed to be the outcome. I never even saw that the impact was felt.
Imagine such an update and that by now, litecoin has not developed what it needs to rise faster.

Because of this, I now worry about the halving of btc next year. I know that it is also a sell on news on our part but it's btc so it could still trigger an aggressive pump for an all time high. Litecoin might not be very popular anymore so that is why not a lot of traders want to pump it and it should be whales doing the work right now so others will feel the fomo but even them did not contribute to help ltc make a noise in the market to enhance ltc's exposure significantly.

Just be patient, wait, and see for what will happen next. We don't know when litecoin can increase or have a fast move to the higher price, but I am sure if litecoin can increase more and back to 0.01 btc again. Maybe it will need more time to see litecoin reaches a higher price because that cannot change in a short time. So we have time to buy more litecoin and get ready to sell if the price is starting to increase. Besides that, I think with the price now, it still a good chance for any investors to buy as the price still at a low price.

Litecoin its a old and non technological blockchain how newcomes, but big community supprts them and he is big player how bitcoin.

Everything has been discussed for many months. Therefore, the probability that there will be a Moonrise, it very low. I guess, nothing will happen. Naturally, miners will start getting smaller awards, but it will not affect too much their business. I am waiting for the changes with Bitcoin and Ethereum (Ethereum 2.0) much more - they will affect the market.

With the upcoming of Litecoin halving it would certainly bring about a pump in its price. I guess it's time for me to look into investing into Litecoin, at least before this imminent pump when the mining block rewards are halved. Even though its price has increased slightly i still  think investing into right now will surely yield some profits.

I honestly was surprised today when I saw the growth of LTC after halving, I was sure that there will be a dump.

They dumping the price and network hashrate will follow the price.

price increases have occurred before halving. so it's normal if after halving the price slowly goes down.

but in the long run, I believe that the litecoin day will go up. so keep waiting and be patient.
