When it comes to the trading of altcoin the I find it is one of the most complex jobs. There are lot of chances and possibilities. So to become a good trader of altcoins what are the main strategies do we need to have? Is it the best time to put money on the altcoin?

The altcoin market unlike that of bitcoin is mostly motivated by hype (a marketing strategy employed by altcoin to promote their project) irrespective of how legitimate or quality an altcoin is, without any hype of the project it becomes a dead project or goes under the radar away from the mainstream media.

The best strategy has to do with buying the rumors (that's why I said you have to stay informed) if a project is getting listed on a high volume exchange anything soon it's a clear sign some hype will come towards that project which will reflect on the price of the coins so as a trader your job is to take advantage of that opportunity to by the rumors in anticipation of the news to sell (take profit).

You need to do researches and studies with alternative cryptocurrency, its team and its development.
You need to get the best alt to buy and save it to earn. if you want to do day trading then it is different from buying and earn later.

You must be good in analysis. It's the main basis on how you will decide with your each trade. You need to be updated also with what's happening in the market including the coins that you hold and you are trading so that you can see if there's a buzz happening for that specific coin.

my simple strategy is by using an Indicator,,
and usually i use RSI indicators combining with EMA, when the price touch oversold area i will buy,
then if the price touch overbought area i will sell my alts  ;)

According to my experience here is my litle advice

1. Make your own standard qualification for coin to trade, otherwise there will be lot of chances like you said
2. Focus only with five altcoin and maximum in seven altcoin, to many altcoin to watch will make you lost focus and then loss
3. Watch support and resistance for every coin, if a coin drop and almost touch support line do not open position to trade just more watch at this coin (I assume you want to buy)
4. Do not engage in pump coin, it will make a new tears later (I assume you don't have those coin, and so don't buy). It's better regret because not buy those coin rather than lose
5. If you have altcoin, and your altcoin being pump so cheer up, watch more at this coin and sell at best price. Do not greedy like you want to sell at higher price. Let say you sell your coin at 400 satoshi and seven hour after you sell your coin goes to 600 sathosi, i advice you don't buy coin at those price (600 satoshi) and hope you can sell at 700 satoshi

Do not invest your money without analysing about the coins .. you need to recognize the variations of the price charts .. There are some tricks to get an idea about the price variation of a coin .. so first of all you need to analize about that .. and if you need to buy a coin , you should analise the price variation of that particular coin for last year of last few month..

There are many traders that I see that can't handle their emotions.
When the price down, they are immediately panic and start selling their altcoins at the bottom. And then after the price bounce and goes up higher, they start buying at a high price.

I dont think its best time to buy altcoin, its time to buy more bitcoin. If we look at the graphic of bitcoin in 2017 every bitcoin increase will be followed by altcoin, but this is not happening absolutely now, many altcoins fall when bitcoin goes up and goes down if bitcoin goes down. This is not an easy job, traders do this with different strategies and the level of expertise they know. True traders are old traders who have traded all the time, they have extensive knowledge about this. but i am not included. I prefer to take part in a long term investment

In this current market, a good trader does his research, buys an altcoin on a dip on a good coin, then watches btc go crazy and crush the entire alt market, stares in horror as his alt collapses and if he's lucky, only loses about 20-30% on his/her investment. A bad trader loses 50-90%.

An exaggeration, of course, and I'm sure there are traders making some money under current market conditions. But right now trading alts probably isn't that profitable for most. Even buying good coins and timing things may not matter much, when the market is in freefall.

After several failed attempts trading altcoin along with the volitle btc pair, I have decided to stick with bitcoin and altcoins that only the stable coin pair like usdt, Usdc, Pax or usd on exchanges. What i have learnt is that there are two very high impact factors that are the main reason of altcoin price movements one of them is the fundamental news of the project/company/team behind the alt and secondly the most important factor that is driving the alt price nowadays is the btc dominancy which is growing and having a negative  impact on alt prices at the moment, lastly technical analysis is also a key thing but again it can be helpful all the times.

Planning is essential to become a good trader. I always have a spreadsheet with me that has a list of the prices of the altcoins that I want to invest with and then I do some analysis as to when will I be making a buy of that coin. Then using a little math to calculate how much I want to earn and how long I could achieve that, then I make a sale. Then profit. After that you repeat.

A good trader should meet some criteria, but of course, everybody has different criteria. 'At least, they should have these things:
1. Awareness of the risks and profits that will be gained as a trader
2. Updated info andmarket analyze on the market.

5. Never be panic whatever the condition of the market

Trading altcoins is no different than to trade any other asset since there are basically only to ways to trade and that is to use fundamental analysis or technical analysis, but both have its limitations, in the case of fundamental analysis you need to try to analyze every single piece of information about the altcoin but the problem is the market is full of scammers creating fake news and falsifying information, so fundamental analysis does not seem to be as effective as it could, you could use technical analysis but the main condition to apply it is to do it in coins with enough volume so you cannot use it with icos and coins with a low volume.

If you mean that good trader is someone who always gets profit when doing the transaction on the market, that is impossible to do. We just can manage our balances wisely to buy altcoin, like buying a coin step by step to reduce the risk and taking profit in the price that first time you have bought. One thing that you must know, where the price will be going after you bought them, not hoping that you will profit by gambling method.

1. You have to be patient (don't panic sell and panic buy)
2. always monitor the movements of altcoin (rising and falling coin that you want to invest or coin that you already have)

4. provide a profit target and not greedy (I usually always target to get a 5-10% profit)
5. always read news about cryptocurrency, because it can give you a reference to choosing good altcoin as an investment

the most important thing is don't be greedy many of us lose just because we are too greedy. so the first thing is to always focus on the targeted profit you want to achieve, don't be too big or small. after the target is reached you must immediately sell it. don't think the price will go higher (this is what often makes the trader lose).

second, always trade on coins that have a large merketcap, coins with large merketcap are difficult to manipulate (even though it is not impossible to manipulate, this is only to minimize the risk of loss).

and third, don't be influenced by any speculation. even if it's said by experts. we just simply trust news that contains facts.

The coins that I found most as having potentials are coins that were graded as some high rated top 10 coins, those are the coins that can be used as long-term project and can serve as store of value, we have some other ones that are great too, but I am still doubting their loyalty and their dedication to the project.

I use to believe in some projects like Cardano, Ada, stellar and many more off them, but I dint know what is really happening to them and why they are not making much efforts to ensure that their project is being used often, only bitcoin, Ethereum and some few ones are always talked about in the cryptocurrency industry, but I think they are still worth giving a trial, maybe it is just the bear market of altcoins affecting them which will soon be over.

we will only always guess about the development of prices on altcoin for now, especially for the 10 best altcoins. but, I also discovered the fact that the top 10 coins are very good coins to hold in the long run.

Buy altcoin when it is cheap and be patient enough to sell back when the price is pretty high. Invest on good ICO's project that has already been listed, and try much as to hodl their token

For this season, I think it will be right to actually focus more on bitcoin trading now because anyone that is trading altcoins at this time that the markets are bleeding so much is doing so at his or her own risk.  The best time to actually make much in trading is during bull run, and as we can see that only bitcoin is still the one that has been in its bull run since 3 months ago, and many people are beginning to pump their altcoins for bitcoin.

The only thing that is good about altcoins right now is just to buy them and hold since they are very cheap, this season will favor more of holders than traders, I mean holder can buy very low now and then wait for altcoins season for them to make so much money.

I agree with you, in trading cryptocurrency, there's an extent of experience, which is built over time and the issue of luck. Some trades are won out of luck and not because of the TA or FA conducted. There's actually no certainty in trading cryptocurrency as the market is not regulated.

This market is always very risky to invest and we cannot predict what will happen next in this bad time. I personally think altcoin is not the best option to make a profit because almost all altcoin is having a huge correction in the past 1 month and may even decrease even further if there are bad news. In my opinion, only invest in new quality projects and have great potential because the investment demand in those projects is always very high.

To become a good trader, one must be ready to learn how things work when it comes to cryptocurrency trading because it goes beyond the mere principle of buying at certain low price and selling at certain high price to make profit. The trader must first know which exchange platform to choose for trading, which altcoins are favourable for trading at a particular point in time, how to access and analyze market trends and data, how to read market graphs etc.

Learn by process,have a good technical/skills,money management and one good thing is experience. We need to know how good that altcoin so we can know the movement because each altcoin have different typical.

In my opinion, each person has a different strategy, depending on the person's comfort in using the trading plan. The most important thing is when we choose altcoin, we see from the number of daily transactions and the products produced. As long as these two factors are met, I think holding on for the long term or trading on altcoin will make it comfortable for us

Trading Altcoins needs one to have knowledge of analysing charts, studying the fundamentals behind a project. When I trade, I always checked my trades from time to time because trading requires active focus on the market to keep adjusting your trades based on the current trend.

No lesson or knowledge about how to become good trading. only experience are best to be good trader. you will come lose money and time when begin trading like profesional. it's true, my friend begin trading at 10 years ago, until now never be good trader.

Well, the answer is simple to trade with the trend. The irony about altcoins is: People think selling them is not a good way and they keep on buying even when the market is going down. You will get hurt if you trying to catch the falling knife. Look at major alts how much they are down instead of hoping and wishing if people sold them at the top the would have a lot of profits till nows.
To trade altcoins, we need to change our perspective that everything can happen to define loss in advance and the market decide.

The main strategy is to buy low and sell high of course, and I think there is no the best time to buy altcoins if you do trading just buy at low price, but if you like to hold an altcoin for long term then this is the best time to buy and wait bull run.

If you have enough Knowledge of crypto, then than you should be a good trader. A good trader always research, know of best time to buy crypto and also sell the crypto, good knowledge of market position etc. There is no time to put money for altcoins,  all time is the best time if you have proper knowledge about the crypto.

To.be a successful traders there are many things one would require (and no, I am not talking about bots) but one of the major ones is Stop-loss, you have to learn how to use it and use it very frequently, this is why it's advisable to do your day trading in big exchanges with large volume to ensure that the Stop-loss works very well, additionally, don't joke with stable coins.

The key is study study study. That's the only way to be good at trading. When I started out newly, I had to familiarise myself with technical analysis and I found materials from babypips very helpful. Also experience and patience matters alot. Even when you make mistakes, always keep your cool and learn from every incident and remain consistent
