why are people busy with ethereum? whether their trust has been lost. Isn't the rise and fall of coin prices on the market common? yes ... considering the market is bearish does not mean that ethereum prices will die and that does not mean that bitcoin will dominate the market forever.

come on stay enthusiastic, Let time answer. don't listen to FUD, if you are an old investor I'm sure you won't stop here. reconsider before you make a brief decision ... because ethereum is a high-potential altcoin, I'm sure they will soon rise from this difficult time.

Ethereum is losing its value and utility lately as some coins can now perform smart contracts which used to be the winning point for ethereum. Ethereum now has bnb to challenge with as most erc20 tokens are now migrating to binance chain which at current state is obviously more promising. I hope things happens well for ethereum though.

It sounds you are just simply a pro-Eth person than on Bitcoin one.Nothing do last forever on the top spot and cant be replaced but for any altcoin

Eth losing confidence into its investors or holder? It wont remain on top 2 if that's the case but look on the entire cap it shows different thing.

I think many are losing confidence in most alts, not just ETH. To me, it's primarily due to the market situation, where almost all alts are suffering. But the scalability issue with ETH is a bit of a concern (we'll see if 2.0 can fix it).

I do agree with that. I don't think people are really losing confidence with ethereum platform. Most of the projects are still using eth and once they establish their own, they migrate from eth to their own. But it doesn't mean that they lost confidence in that way. Why would they use eth in the first place? Those who are sincere and legit are the ones migrating to their own because they have the capability to proceed with their developments. But all in all, eth is so much alive, their team is doing their job to advance their platform.

Not  all people are losing confident for ethereum capabilities to,rise it again in the market, but we need to admit a lot of people are suffering loses investing in ethereum that's why theynlost their hope and confident.
The reason of the lost confidence and believe is the wrong decision or out of patience holding ethereum and they it in the low value.
We knowa the current price of ethereum is harder to uprise, i think if bitcoin not to reach the 15,000$ margin ethereum will still stay in a low value. That is only my own opinion and observation.

It will not die but the fact the demand for ethereum has already gone, maybe you can argue if the fall and rise the price of ethereum is a common thing but when you are early traders who know everything about ethereum and the fundamental of ethereum is so weak. In 2017 ethereum was so easy to increase and decrease and at that time ether has more volatility compared with this time and it's really different.
IEO market has already caught the ico demand and the majority of ico investors are moving towards IEO.
It's not and FUD but the transition of the old to the new system is a real thing just like what has already happened with IEO that gives a huge impact to the ethereum.

Many altcoins came from eth platform and some were using it before they created their own blockchain why? It is easy and very flexible however since it is very easy to use, there are also a lot of shitcoins that are coming in. And maybe, the team should at least do something about it. I am one of the ETH believer and enthusiast, As far as I can see with its price in the market, it performs good actually in my opinion.
And why will believe in those FUD news about it. Remember that ethereum has a bright future just be patience and do not lose hope mate.
I believed too that ETH is next into bitcoin so hold onto it.

I think it's not Ethereum per se, but the whole ICO's model here. I mean Ethereum enjoy it's moment when projects left and right are very successful. However, when the whole ICO model is exposed as being used by scammers, investors lost it's trust with Ethereum as well.


Altcoin market is very shaky as well, but we don't know, maybe next year we will see a bull run, coinciding with bitcoin anticipated massive run because of the block halving. Plus there is news of Ethereum 2.0 so everything is not lost here.

I think it is unfair to equate Ethereum with ICO. Ethereum =/= ICO. Therefore, the weakening of ICO is not the weakening of Ethereum. The eventual death of ICO is never the eventual death of Ethereum. The Ethereum platform was used by a lot of crypto projects before simply because it was the best. And thanks to Ethereum, the crypto border is pushed from the inside farther and farther, giving massive opportunities both for traditional companies and start-ups to get involved into the crypto phenomenon.

I think the difficulties with ethereum are temporary. This is due to the still continuing decline in the activity of new ICO projects and the lack of a proportional increase in the price of altcoins this year. As soon as their growth goes up, then the popularity of ethereum will rise. It will inevitably happen soon. While it is better to stock up on this coin, while it is very cheap. Ethereum will remain one of the best and most reliable cryptocurrencies.

nobody who had minimal familiarity with economics and this market had any confidence in the long term potential of ethereum ever. the unlimited supply alone guarantees that this coin has no future as a long term investment.
what you saw so far has been two things:
1. the short term confidence in the pump that can only last a short time which is why all the good traders dumped it back in 2017 and got out.
2. the newbies false hope thinking they had struck oil and were going to become rich by bag holding.

this project has too many issues to be able to continue in long term. it simply has an expiration date where the centralized owners would run out of money to inject in it for pumping and keeping alive.

well not me... I'm not losing confidence with ethereum, I still believe the potential of this king of the altcoins it will moon for sure, just keep hold for long term and yes just don't listen to FUD you can not make money of it.

Have to agree. I think right now we just have a very negative sentiment in the blockchain/crypto space. Let's accept the fact that main problem of eth is bitcoin and it's value who already dominate the crypto world now. All we know that,when bitcoin is in a good price value investors will always put their money investment at bitcoin and forget about eth. But I think it is temporary because all we know that here in crypto nothing remains on the top forever. There is a right time for eth just wait,invest and hold.

Who's saying Ethereum will die anyway? I think no one. Ethereum is still pretty much strong and kicking. The team behind it is active and it is still one of the most used cryptocurrency in the world. Although the price is declining, it's pretty normal because of how bearish the alt market is right now. I'm pretty sure once the cycle resets, Ethereum will rise again.

I still believe ethereum is a good coin for the long term. With the support of a solid developer team and product development that will be done, I think ethereum will be able to survive as altcoin with the biggest market cap value.
Maybe now many people do not believe in ethereum because of the price factor that continues to fall against bitcoin, but actually this also happens to almost all altcoins

Without any good outcomes from those ico projects the trust will decrease and chances that it will continue to fall if investors will no longer show any interest, it's not just pump and dump but there's really good platform that will be more usable after some time,  confidence will only be brought back when the project again show good runs everything will turned to a positive response.

This problem is not just for Ether. Because of the increase of BTC dominance, every small and big alts suffer and lose some big value against BTC. And people don't trust anything while losing money.

Maybe you could help more into making Ethereum more valuable. They do find it hard to believe because they look at the market only.

I don't have a reason to blame for those people who sold their assets on ethereum because they have a right to do so. Especially for those people who sold it to buy bitcoin it sounds realistic IMO. As the market movement had happened sometimes ago when bitcoin price went up drastically from $3500 to $12.000 whilst the movement price of altcoins especially ethereum just stuck on $250 it was pointed that the investor should move the asset into bitcoin. Moreover, with the halving event that will happen in May 2020 have become a target for them to hold bitcoin from now on and leave the asset from altcoins for a while.

2017 is the success of ICOs using the foundation of ETH and ICO projects purchased with ETH or BTC, so ETH grows very strong. Currently, the form of ICO has changed by the IEO form of the selling floors, the price of coin floors has increased because of the IEO.

Ethereum is my second biggest holding after BTC, and point of correction from your post, I don't BTC dominance will end any time soon. I think the major reason why some are losing confidence is because ETHEREUM slowed down with developments comparatively. For instance, Ethereum 2.0 planned earlier was shifted, no major milestone achieved since then. I strongly believe in future, development updates should boost the price, it's a gradual process.

I will take the negative side first because we have seen many ICO projects using the ERC20 platform not have a good function and some of the tokens they have made are not valuable in the market, because the team cannot develop their projects properly. (stay and then leave)
but on the positive side, ethereum still has high hopes for price increases ,. as long as users are still using altcoin to trade / invest, I don't think you need to worry about their prices. it's only a matter of time

Ethereum is going through a bear phase and I expect more people to sell it, but I’m not worried and will not be selling my coins. I vividly remember that when bitcoins hit $3100 everyone panicked, and declared that it was game over for bitcoins and other crypto’s but even then I didn’t sell, and we all know how bitcoin rose upwards from those levels. Similarly Ethereum too will rise in the long term, but it’ll require lots of patience before one can see profits on their investments. Also came across an interesting article where the analyst explains why he’s holding it for the long term, I hope after reading it many will be inspired to hodl Ethereum for the long term.

Personally, I believe that Ethereum is always a stable coin. Since this coin has stopped and is waiting for its chance to grow again. So this coin will always be stable in its market. And Ethereum will soon be the most important coin and occupies a stable position in the cryptocurrency market.

I am getting more interested in Ethereum as its value falling in the market.

Let's face it, in 2017 Ethereum was growing in price due to the great popularity of ICO. People invested in new tokens and bought Ethereum for this. Now ICO is catastrophically losing its popularity, and therefore ETH is not growing in price.

I agree with you; a look at the entire market shows that not only Ethereum is affected as Bitcoin dominance continues growing. Also from another is Ethereum isn't a good altcoin why then is it still number 2? If ETH upgraded platform will not be launch soon, or if they don't have something to hype their investors again, I think we will not see our expectation with ETH. It's currently the number 1 in altcoins but we know that surprises happens a lot in crypto, one big pump of BNB will make it in the top 2 spot though I'm not saying it will happen instantly, but it's possible in short term.

The OP is right that the price reduction is normal and this is not a sign that ethereum will die.

People are not losing confidence with ethereum, and they still hold ethereum till now. I still hold ethereum too as I believe that ethereum can rise again soon. But I admitted that ethereum had lost the price too deep because the price now is at the low price and there is no one will know when the price can back to the higher price. Besides that, there are so many predictions for ethereum price, and many people say that the price can reach the very highest price in the future. But we never know what will happen in the future, so we could wait for that.

I think it's normal to see ethereum decrease or increase. I'm sure many people here still believe that ethereum can rise again.

If we think ethereum is losing value, I think you should see what happens to other altcoins. All experienced a decline too, so don't be surprised if ethereum experienced it too.

Most people are giving up on Ethereum because of the failure of ETH to rise even when Bitcoin is rising steadily. Almost everybody invest into cryptocurrencies for profits and not the fun of it so if one of my assets is not bringing profits then it is likely that i would lose confidence in it and start investing into another one. Obviously Bitcoin for sure!

I figure ETH is in the process of coming more into its own. As it was said already, lot of projects use it as a starting point before they move on (or remain with ETH). Though, I'm speaking as someone who got into ETH not because of it being something I could make money from (That's maybe #2 or #3 on my list), but because of the potential of the platform as a whole.

Everyone has been waiting for Ethereum to bounce back. At least it can compete with the current Bitcoin price hike. Because of the price of Ethereum can hit even harder will have a big impact, especially for the Meraka that uses the Ethereum platform.

I used to believe altcoin dump is an opportunity to buy more but the recent market had shown the obvious, it is so risky and not wise financial advice. After ETH lost a vital part of its use case as ICOs and exchanges are providing more effective smart contract alongside the listing. There is not huge purchase of ETH as in ICOs and fewer Fiat-crypto exchange. I am not a lover of the coin governance at all, I wonder what they do among themselves. The decentralized exchanges with ERC coin are getting redundant and unpopular

To be able to reach that point at this time ethereum is no longer easy. The big challenge must be faced by ethereum is getting the hype big enough to reach that point. it is certainly not an easy thing to do.

I don't think it is only Ethereum but most of the altcoins. People rather choose to buy Bitcoin and hold it since its dominance is getting higher and they don't believe that an alt season is coming in the next months.

As an investor, its better to see this as an opportunity to buy since its price is going down. In next year, Ethereum 2.0 will be launched and maybe the price of ETH will go higher when this will be implemented.

Because most projects are planning to make its crowdfunding into IEO and it doesn't need a smart contract like ICO's do that requires ETH to execute the payment. So more projects going to IEO the lesser the interest on ETH and a reason why its price losing its demand making the current price stays at that value.

You're right.  Ethereum has not yet shown what it is capable of.  He did not fully realize his potential.  So much more can be expected from him.

I don't think Ethereum is losing its significance on the market. I believe people still believe in Ethereum. But I must admit Ethereum dropped $100/ETH in the last 2 months. Which making tradesmen to bother about investing in it. Ethereum is $187 presently and I expect soon it will start growing. I am assuming Ethereum to hit $500 within 2020. I believe in ETH and I know it has the ability to hit $500.

see, many scam projects come from the basis of the ethereum blockchain. because it's very easy to make tokens from an etheruem basis. now developers of the ethereum platform must solve this problem if they don't want investor confidence to really disappear.

why? Ethereum has performed poor all these time. With all of it's possibilities, they are choosing the option of negligence. There's no competitor of Ethereum and would be no for next couple of year but if it wan't to stay in the top position, it should evolve and be more competitive otherwise it would soon be dethroned.

for old investors, this is normal. they have often seen the prices of ethereum, bitcoin, and other cryptos fall many times. there is nothing to be afraid of, because they know everything will have time to ascend.

This happens when the market is either bearish for long time or slow and laggy in terms of price movements which is the exact case for now that is why investors and hodlers can feel discouraged especially those who are in need of money and want to cashout some of there holding but as a long term hodler im confident about eth and selling below 1000 will be huge mistake and if the market follows the previous bull cycle then eth can potentially reach over 3000 in next parabolic run but we need patience to see such growth.

Ethereum has no any new to introduce, one day the price will dump, unless introduce something new to the markets, yes a lot of project now offer smart contract but still early to be popular like ethereum.

This, ethereum had almost a monopoly when it came to smart contracts and most icos were released on their platform which means that the demand for ethereum was huge with some projects not accepting any coin except ETH if you wanted to invest in them, but with the release of new platforms, new regulations which stipulated that you needed to go through KYC, the replacement of icos for ieos and several technical issues then it is not really surprising that we see ETH losing the confidence of investors, this could change during the next year but at least for now I will not expect any kind of recovery for ETH.

The rise and fall of coins are common in the crypto world but yet, bitcoin was still able to survive it being the king of crypto, and that is how a good leader shows an example to the followers, you can see how bitcoin use to pull the other few altcoins up when it rises, but ethereum as a leader of altcoins, it is meant to follow the footstep of bitcoin also, that when other projects are going down, it will still make a significant record in the market and show example to its followers.

So if ether junior are even doing much more better in this bear market than ethereum, so I would not want to listen to that excuse of all being in a down time, ethereum has all it takes not to follow negative trend but a positive trend.

A few financial specialists doesn't have confidence in investing  ethereum coin. They quickly lose certainty at whatever point ethereum descends in price.  They don't have a clue about that vacillation and slippage of ethereum's price is only a typical market movement. Maybe it could go better sooner rather than later and ascends its cost once more, conceivably it could go better since it has the potential and excellent for future venture with an extraordinary volume in the market

Lose confidence doesn't mean to not trust 100% in it. But there is a reduction in buy-sell the coin.
I think it is normal and no need to worry. It is only about the move of ETH price seems not really significant currently. The investors will be confident again when there is a big rising anymore. And to see it, we need to wait for the next bull in Bitcoin.

investors didn't leave ethereum as well..they just switch some their ethereum amount to another coins that maight be give them some profits in near future.speculate to earn profits be their habbit, and i am sure somedaya they will buyback ethereum again when its price down.

Because, it had no new innovation. That is the biggest problem with ethereum right now, it was known for being one step ahead of every other coin and they had created something that would be the center stone of all altcoins, than they stopped, they are doing small stuff I will give them that but nothing that would shock the world.

At one point, they dropped as low as 80 dollars and than they announced the most important feature they are working on, a proof of stake hard fork but than nothing came out of that neither, its still proof of work. If it became proof of stake than there would be some reason to hold ethereum so that would make the price go up so we are all waiting on them to deliver that but I doubt it will happen anytime soon. Innovation is the life blood of ethereum, as long as they don't innovate they will keep going down in peoples eyes.

I believe that those who are dissatisfied with the price of ETH look at the price of BTC and ask themselves one question why BTC has grown and ETH is growing very poorly. Yes, I agree that many like me now would like to see the price of ETH much more than it is now, but apparently the task of large players is to raise and control the price of BTC, but after all the altcoins will come in time and of course ETH. Well BNB is a bad but true competitor of ethereum platform and also as the credibility of ERC20 being abused by scammers affect the decisions of legit projects to transfer to Binance than staying in bad reputation Ethereum

I am sure that it happens only because many people take Ethereum as the cryptocurrency to invest into only for getting profit from its price. Meanwhile, those, who use it for other purposes (Smart Contracts, for example) know that ETH is the best.
As for the price of this crypto, I will hold ETH for 6-9 months  - I suppose, after the Ethereum 2.0 launch,  it will gain pretty well.

Most people won't admit that their sentiment towards their coin investment solely depend on whether the price is rallying or crashing. People will say all sorts of reasons why the coin is such a bad investment when the price is falling. ICO usually operating using Ethereum coin and eth tokens as well.
Many ICO didn't meet the expectation of many crypto investors, and then the price dump.

Of course, new projects with new coins on the market have set a tight market competition for Ethereum now. Now, masternode coins with use cases are winning the market due to the fact that most of them reward interests for as an investor holds them. For Ethereum to stay within the competition, the Team of Ethereum must restructure their service provision.

If the coin no longer gives profit. People would prefer other coins to make a profit. And this is just like on Ethereum, this coin is experiencing very slow developments. Even now the resale value is declining and people are bored to wait longer.

Yes, I realize if not everyone like that and still many people believe in Ethereum. I personally still believe and long term investments with buying Ethereum, I suppose in the future will be profitable.

I always support ethereum and its potential is amazing. Ethereum team, technology, concept everything is amazing. Lately ethereum is getting a back seat. I do not the reason behind its downtrend. Price of any coin goes up and down. It is a common phenomena. May be ethereum has been affected by the market falling down.

In my opinion, falling prices do not mean that investors are losing confidence in ETH. As you can see, Bitcoin Dominance is now up to 70.9% and it is taking up a lot of market volume in recent days.
That makes ETH's price drop, because many traders think they will sell at a high price and wait for the low price to continue to buy.
That's the general sentiment right now, not everyone losing faith in ETH, we will see bull tremor again in 2020.
