What do you mean by "going to work next ten years"?

If you are a beginner, please read through the forum, there are so many discussions already if bitcoin will still exist in the next years and so on. No one can tell you this with 100% whats going to happen within the next 10 years.

Of course it will. Its defined in code, it doesn't depend on any individual, Bank or State, it works in-spite of these, with or without them. Which is why its strong and valuable, we call it decentralization, the mere fact that it can't be shutdown or changed on a whim, like fiat money some altcoins can and therefore are worthless in comparison.

Bitcoin is better than gold.

When we talk about bitcoin future there are two things that will come to mind. One would be bitcoin future which is an automated trading platform backed by a group of venture capitalists used by traders to trade Bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies. The second one would be bitcoin futures which means the price prediction of what will be the value of bitcoin in the future.

Correct me if I am wrong, I do believe that you are referring to the second one I mentioned and that is the future value of bitcoin. There are many speculations as to what will be the value of bitcoin next year , 3 years from now, after 5 years or 10 years. But one thing is clear now since the bubble and hype is already over we can assume that we will be seeing a bearish move on bitcoin on the coming years.

Crypto skeptics were claiming that Bitcoin was a bubble and that the hype is the only thing keeping it alive for years, now. However, it is still here, even after the hype had died down, even after an entire bearish year. People think that it will start growing again and go even higher than before.

In the end, nobody knows what will happen. All that remains is to wait and see. There is no guarantee, but it does seem like the most critical period has passed, and the acceptance is growing. In other words, yes, there is a fair chance that it will stick around and see even more acceptance over the course of the next 10 years. However, it might not keep the same role as right now.

My guess is that we may have another one that got his Bitcoin info from BCash website.
So.. Bitcoin already works and it's still being continuously improved, so the chances are high that it'll continue to work in the next 10 (or more) years too.

Indeed, we can't really assume and assure the possible things that might occur in the future but I believe that it will continue on giving us opportunities. Bitcoin will rise no matter what , we all know that bitcoin had already faced a lot of problems and it was able to surpass it.

I cannot seem to see any reason why Bitcoin will suddenly stop "working" in the next 10 years. After a decade, I can feel that Bitcoin has already surpassed the worst of obstacles. It has been declared dead and buried countless of times; it has burst; it has been declared illegal and banned in a lot of countries; it has been labelled all kinds of things, and yet it is still here. I mean, can anybody or any government stop it? It's coming from them: it's an "unstoppable force."

And for as long as there are newbies like you joining the community, it cannot have any other direction but to the moon.  ;)

If you question function, I think bitcoin will still function in next 10 years, but about what bitcoin prices will be in next 10 years I can't predict it because there are many aspects that will affect price of bitcoin in next 10 years. If you want to invest in bitcoin it is better to first learn basic knowledge about bitcoin, if you already are sure, please invest some of your money.


There are many unexpected surprises in bitcoin, how do you believe that market will be bearish in future. If you were here before 2017 surely you also did not expect that bitcoin will touch exceptional ATH, well that's what might happen in future, unexpected things like 2017 ago. Hype and bubbles can come at any time, maybe when some whales want it back.

Did the people who knew bitcoin ten years ago expected that it will grow tremendously up to this moment? or let's take it as an example of 2017? because I'm expecting more after witnessing those bloomy days.

Honestly speaking, I believe that it will still exist after a decade starting from this year. People can go back to this thread (hopefully it won't be deleted) so that we will see on how huge the adoption will by that time.

I am sure many people don't believe what they saw in 2017 when bitcoin price could grow and increase so high. Many people who involved in bitcoin are shocked to see the price and people in out there will also get the same thing as us. Although bitcoin price now seems to stable at a price now, the price will have a chance to break higher price, and even it will pass the last time higher price in 2017.

So I also believe that bitcoin will still stay with us for a long time and no doubt about that. From time to time, it is normal to see the price will be up and down many times, but in a long time, bitcoin price will hit the very highest price. We could follow the journey while we can also make a profit from bitcoin or we don't want to join with other people who already make a lot of money from bitcoin. It's your choice, and it's better you think before deciding.

BTC will exist in the next few years, even more than 10 years,
maybe there really isn't any evidence or data,
but we can see future developments by looking at the development of bitcoin today,
Bitcoin is the answer to world economic problems, such as Venezuela,
Bank systems are bad systems, they even double money causing inflation, and cryptocurrency is the answer, especially BTC.

Well, if you are plainly just asking if Bitcoin will work for the next ten years then YES it will work since cryptocurrency is an evolving subject and not only will Bitcoin work for the next ten years but will surely be 10x better than it is right now, Bitcoin has evolved throughout the decade and will continuously evolve alongside with the other things like technology and many more, this is truly based on my own insights though, don't fully grasp onto it or have too much expectations, but then again, Bitcoin will WORK no matter what.

Bitcoin has existed for the last 10 years, so it's very hard to stop its growth and the years to come. Maybe there could be problems along the way, like scalability or slow confirmations. But we have this so called Lightning Network (LN) around that can push bitcoin to mainstream.

And then we also have the global adoption, it's a long process but I'm confident that we can reach that level in maybe five to ten years from now. So everything looks good and the future is bright.

Now it's really up to the OP if he wanted to join as early as today and reap his rewards in terms of profit right after the halving next year.

This is so right. It have existed for the past 10 years and have given so many benefits to many of us. And with all the establishments and merchants who are now accepting bitcoin as a mode of payment is one sign that the future looks good. The mass adoption we've been waiting for is slowly happening. With that, bitcoin will surely go another 10 years or even more than that. I'm positive about it. :)

A lot of the theory suggest that Bitcoin would exist in the future, but none of that can be guaranteed. Nobody can tell you that Bitcoin would always be the dominant coin out there and for Bitcoin to "work" in the future, adoption will have to increase. The reason for that is simple, because Satoshi Nakamoto developed Bitcoin to reduce the Block rewards for miners over time and the miners fees will then have to replace the Block reward to incentivize people to mine bitcoins in the future.

So, if there are no Block reward or very little bitcoins as a reward for mining in the future and transaction volumes does not increase, then Bitcoin might be in trouble. People should just continue to spread adoption to increase the transaction volumes to fund the miners fees to secure Bitcoin's future.  ;)

I'm shocked by that time and I'm just hiding my feelings from the people who are surrounding me because it's a hype. Although I wasn't able to hide it completely because there were people who asked me about bitcoin and invested at the highs and sadly they are still at lost right now.

Forgetting about that moment, bitcoin is here to stay and it's never late for those who still don't have it. I doubt it that there's a new coin that can kick it on its throne.

Since you are a beginner, why not search which everything you want to learn about bitcoin? Start reading about bitcoin first here in the forum. There are so many great things, fundamental knowledge you wanted to know. Do you have any doubts about the existence of bitcoin? 10years of existence and still continuing to develop and grow is just a sign that bitcoin is getting stronger.

As a beginner, for you to have asked about this question, I believe that you already know the whole concept of bitcoin which you must have read through this forum form many people and scholars that has said what they know about the invention of bitcoin.

Now, let us go over to the future, we all know the advantages of bitcoin to us in the aspect of our financial transaction, and how decentralized the coin is which is making it to become too difficult to hack and also difficult to trace, because of this is why people are so much into bitcoin, but I tell you that bitcoin is beyond just that and it’s a system that has a very great future, I have seen countries fight other cryptocurrencies like Libra, but yet still give their full support to bitcoin to succeed, so there is possibility of it being a global coin in future.

There is a bright future for bitcoin and some crypto coins because as of now only some people have knowledge on this kind of investments. I think bitcoin will be the one who's gonna blow out after its halving time, and as soon as that happens more people will be onto bitcoin because as we all know there's a lot of money here in crypto world if you really know what you do here. As of now I recommend to hodl if you have bitcoins in your wallet and just wait for the halving to come.

Of course, no one can guarantee what will happen in the future. We just predict the future of Bitcoin based on some considerations or main factors. As Bitcoin adoption still continues and there are more big companies join it, I am also confident about the future of Bitcoin. Moreover, Bitcoin has been used for years, I think many people have depended already on it.

In my two years of working in this market i can really say that bitcoin’s future is brighter and bigger than any coins because of its good technology and because bitcoin is the king of all cryptocurrncy. The future is good but you have to learn how to ride the waves of bitcoin becuase its not always going up, there’s a lot of time that it will fall but since its good bitcoin will always survive.

It will work in the next ten years and the next ten years after that and further on. Bitcoin is perfectly working right now. There are some problems encountered such as fees and confirmation time but all these are being addressed. Solutions such as SegWit and Lightning Network are proofs that improvements are always being done. Other problems might be harder to solve such as governments declaring it illegal. Problems of this kind will have to be set aside while adoption is being pushed little by little. If every member of the Bitcoin community will contribute a little, adoption will be expedited.

I am sure bitcoin will work for a long time because bitcoin have a bright future.
Although bitcoin in the last year and now is not at the highest price, we could still make money from bitcoin because the price is up and down and it still moves from the lower price to the higher price.
So no matter what people say that bitcoin will lose its value, it will be back to the higher price again in the future.
I believe that is only a matter of time before bitcoin can be back to the higher price so you need to be patient.
All you have to do is buy more bitcoin if you have more money, hold it for a while, don't sell if the price is not reach more than $20k so you will make a bigger profit.
Don't be panic if the bitcoin price is down because that will your time to add more bitcoin to your wallet.

Bitcoin has been here for almost 11years now,and what we’ve seen is continuously growth(but ofcourse there are ups and downs since this is volatile market)

So for me we can triple the market capitalization in the next 10years or maybe higher ,specially these days that people worldwide are getting aware about what cryptocurrency is all about

Future holds a lot of possibilities, that is the same with Bitcoin.

But I guess Bitcoin will not be that huge in the future as its technology, the Blockchain.

Don't get me wrong though, Bitcoin can still pump, it will still exist with a higher price but in my opinion, Blockchain technology will be mainstream in the future and it will be used in a lot of things. It is already evident that Bitcoin is not a bubble. More people understand that soon, BNB will partly replace fiat. We are not prophets, so no one knows the future of the next 10 years. I believe that cryptocurrencies will always evolve, and more new altcoins will create every day added to the market. Honestly, BITCOIN and bitcoin really became famous in mid-2017. It started as a topic for many people to talk about its use in the future.
Why do you ask 10 years later, not 5 years or 3 years?
For me, within 3 to 5 years, many cryptocurrencies will be widely applied in practice. And Bitcoin of course is leading the way.
Governments in many countries have begun to take steps to manage it rather than prohibit it, so cryptocurrencies are truly the future of financial markets in the near future.

If Bitcoin was the only coin in the world, then it is quite clear that all of humanity would use only one Bitcoin cryptocurrency and its value would increase by tens or hundreds of times.  But today, Bitcoin has a lot of competitors that are superior in terms of parameters, including scaling.  Even today, according to analysts, Bitcoin is not used for its intended purpose primarily because it can provoke a deficit in transactions, which will reduce the speed and increase the price of transactions.  Subsequently, it will become disadvantageous for users.

Realistic question since you are a newbie but it seems like you came to wrong section because there is a section who can tell you anything as you want as a newbie and we the section is begginer and help. I have convinced that the begginer and help section is very useful place for newbie moreover if you intend to be an investor bitcoin. To answer your question is indeed you have to have a knowledge toward bitcoin as well.

Bitcoin will be useful in the future in my perspective. Even we can see bitcoin as internet now. I mean bitcoin will be something that will be need by everyone (although it needs a long procces but I believe it will happen. So, I'll give you a suggestion to you in order we will have a same thought toward bitcoin. Just find the function of bitcoin and compare with money fiat function I think it will help you.

We already have lots of evidence that bitcoin is doing great job right now, a lot of merchants accept btc for payment, like barbershop or bakery in my country etc.
Recently, even state owned post in my country added new offer, crypto exchange, what is great step forward for crypto acceptance in the country.
There are many more such things that prove that bitcoin has a bright future.
I think we are not far from the moment when bitcoin will be accepted globally, as an alternative to paypal or WU for example.

Your question is funny. Some of us started bitcoin without asking such a question. Bitcoin is good and the technology behind it is a good one as well and might be of importance in the future. You can make quick transactions with bitcoin at cheap rate and you can also earn money by investing your money in it, but there is no guarantee that you will make a profit when you invest in bitcoin, it's all about luck. That's why you're being told to take the risks with what you can afford.

Don't put all your money into bitcoin with hope that you're going to make quick money and turn a millionaire the next day. Just invest because you want to invest and you believe that one day it will turn out for the better. You can still invest now since a lot of people are saying there will be a bull run, maybe if you're lucky the price will go up and you will make profit. It's just luck, when I started I wasn't even expecting the price to go up and it did. When my friend tried, it didn't work out for him because he invested at the wrong time. So, it's all luck.

Bitcoin has every chance of a promising future, but only if this coin attracts big investments, but today a big business is more interested in another cryptocurrency than bitcoin, because there is a problem of scaling.  All potential investors can provoke a transaction deficit in the Bitcoin blockchain.  But perhaps this problem will be solved and Bitcoin will realize its full potential.

It's hard to imagine the price of bitcoin reaching $ 1 million because then the bitcoin market cap value will reach tens of trillions of dollars. It might sound pessimistic but I think we have to be realistic because if the market cap value of bitcoin reaches trillion dollars it can disrupt the existence of other investment markets and also the abundant supply of dollars in the world

I don't know how many more years we have to wait before we actually gonna witness Bitcoin hitting 1M dollars in the future. We might be too old or dead during that time, who knows? But we have to be more realistic here since what matters now is the present. We never know if Bitcoin would be the top cryptocurrency or is it still being use when we gets old.

No one can know what will happen about Bitcoin in the long run. We can just make guesses about it. I wish the crypto market would be more stable and we could make predictions that are more certain.

It definitely works in the next 10 years. Since many people are being introduced in the cryptocurrency, this can persuade others to become investors and make the cryptocurrency larger.

To be real we dont know on how much longer bitcoin can last or how far its price gonna push up but one thing is needed to be done while bitcoin is still there.No one can predict that thing but one things sure.Bitcoins life will end maybe 10 20 40 50 years from now or when a crisis happen that severely damage blockchain

But you should keep in mind also that there are plenty of resources out there already, so it's better that you should be resourceful also by reading and understanding them. Yes, Bitcoin is here to stay. Bitcoin is a radical technology based on blockchain and it is here to change the way we store our data. I am not sure that it is going to stay the same way as it is now. Because today BTC is more of an investment and trading commodity and people buy it and don't use it instead they store it anticipating higher profits. In future blockchain & Public ledger technology will pave the way how economy works. We might not shift entirely on bitcoin but governments might bring their own currencies which could be stored in public ledgers and not bank accounts. These might be regulated a bit more than what bitcoin is now. But they will increase transparency for sure. So I don't know about the price but bitcoin will surely be here in next 10 years it's not going anywhere.

As far as I know, Bitcoin can survived in the next 10 years. Bitcoin is the first working cryptocurrency and definitely not the last. They are the monetary of the future and there's what we are going now. We are already in the world of digital payment and salary, have faith.

Yeah you are right that we can not predict the bitcoin future and I am not agree the last point of you that you are saying that if the crises will occur there are chances that the blockchain or bitcoin will go to damage or crash! So mate I am not agree with this point because you have noted that nowadays many and the largest companies are going to accept bitcoin and also some countries stock exchanges are also listed bitcoin in their exchange so there is no doubt that we can easily says that blockchain or bitcoin will not go to damage and also its future will be very bright.

The future is the digital world. The blockchain is the future, at least for the next few years. The development of technologies is advancing at a rapid pace. I am sure that the cash and therefore also the FIAT currencies will be paid off. From my point of view, there can only be state crypto currencies. What role the BTC can play remains to be seen.

in my opinion bitcoin will work for the next ten years, because for more than 7 years bitcoin has been very profitable. ten years from now will probably be more profitable and work again. especially for us investors who continue to be loyal with bitcoin.

Our world is still changing and evolving. We start from a fiat money that is usually tangible that made from metal and paper but as the time goes by cryptocurrency is being introduced when computer was invented. So that for me, the future of our world could be, all things that are usually we do everyday could be access online and with the use of bitcoin such as money transactions, shopping, etc.

In my opinion, btc will be here in 10 years but it may not be used for the daily transactions. It always will be the king and respected but there will be other projects which may excess the marketcap of bitcoin. of course yes. Bitcoin has always broken every resistance, despite we still hoping for mass adoption. Bitcoin has proven to be the most reliable coin for long term investment. I still believe that it has come to stay, but it needs strong regulation to manage the irregularities that are attached to its development. Bitcoin has what it takes to withstand the turbulence, and it is still the hope and leader of all crypto.

there's always the possibility that we don't know about the development of cryptocurrency, especially Bitcoin.
for example no one thought bitcoin could touch 20,000 USD in 2010.
now many believe going to 100k usd, because there is a chart count.

The fluctuations in the price of bitcoin and other cryptocurrency is a common one. Al the time,the exceptation is bitcoin is keeps on increasing .The price of bitcoin crossed the mark of 19,000$ in 2017 and you had said it was excepted on 2010. So in a time interval,the price is tends to increase and decrease.If it's legalized in some country , we can see the next bull run.

Yes and people will continue to mine it until around the year 2140. By then the block reward will be around 1 Satoshi. Even then bitcoin transactions will still have to be validated. So even after all 21 million Bitcoin are mined. The miners will still continue to mine and validate each and every transaction. They will still be able to mine the transaction fees though. So even once they are all mined there will still be a reward for mining. The question then will be will Bitcoin still be used by then. Or will it be replaced by a bigger better coin with more use cases? Who knows maybe the year 2140 the real Satoshi will come out of hiding and sign a transaction proving his identity!!! HA!

I think will be more popular in the near future , With the Bakkt event it is a huge milestone indeed for the future of the digital market, Bitcoin and Blockchain. Then next is the Bitcoin Halving. I can see no one trading their Bitcoin to any fiat in ten years from now.

Well, I also think the bitcoin will exist in the next 10 years because it's a digital currency which is also fast, secure, and decentralized. Many people now consider bitcoin as a digital store of value more like GOLD 2.0! The only problem with bitcoin now is high volatility which also makes the trading very profitable for professional traders.

I cannot predict the future of bitcoin, which I hope bitcoin will continue to grow well and more and more are adopting it and can be accepted in all countries so that bitcoin has a high price.

We cannot predict what will happen to bitcoin, maybe next year it will bull run again , many people will buy now because they believe that next year will be their luck year again, or maybe next year we will facing a bear market again , no one knows what will happen. For a not so good in trading I cannot read the chart so well, but if we want we can study the trading patterns for us to understand and somehow can predict what happen, we need to learn that in this world nothing could be impossible and all the things we are facing are uncertain. How could you believe that people think of Bitcoin as a perishable thing? do they really? I don't think so. Bitcoin has already got a huge platform in the internet world, not only that but also Bitcoin has become one of the potential payment systems in various types of markets already. No one knows for sure what the future of bitcoin holds for us. There is someone who claims to be from the future that says that BTC would be IT in the nearest time, and as a matter of fact, that the price of BTC is going to end this year in an incredibly great amount. But I can't say for sure that this is fact, I mean, I have not been in the future myself. But let's sit and wait with our hopes high up, and see how all of these unfolds.

Seeing the confidence in you as a Bitcoin enthusiasts convince me that; you can see far into the deep but, the future is fill with uncertainty and can't be predicted as such. We all love to stay anonymous and enjoy the freedom we seek that brought about bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general but there future is uncertain. It will wrong of us to start predicting on their future.

I still think that there's a future in bitcoin since it is rising up slowly as of now. The price of bitcoin is volatile meaning it is changing time by time. We are just waiting for it to rise up again just have courage and hope for it. And keep on trading and buying some crypto as we support it all the time.

In the future, in my opinion bitcoin will definitely be the only coin that is in demand by many people and by investors because now we see that bitcoin has become the most expensive single digital currency among other altcoins and with bitcoin we can invest in the long term or in the short term, it is very possible that bitcoin can also be the future for us and others too.
