Yesterday the price of Bitcoin was $9700 and today the price is $8500. Yesterday the price of Ethereum is $200 and today the price is $170. So which coin is prefer to buy?

As of now the price of both crypto are now down and maybe its a great opportunity to buy that both crypto. Maybe this time the price of bitcoin will fall but afterwards if will pump up again which may result to a new bull run. I will probably buy that both crypto especially they are good crypto.

Currently I think I will not buy both of these coins, I may buy both but with BTC I will buy in the 75xx- 78xx zone. With ETH it would be 14x. I believe that BTC and ETH will come down to that zone or possibly lower.

If you want better opinions from us, then probably give us more information? Are you looking at long term or short term?

Short term: bitcoin in my opinion. It's simply a better performer in times like these when prices are dropping.

Long term: Completely up to you. Do your own research on both projects and go with what you think could be worth more in the future.

If i have money, i will buy both. I still believe if bitcoin and ETH price can really increased. That is why anytime i think it is good to buy, i will buy. But for now i already enough with 0,02BTC and 2 ETH approximately, because something happen and only that coin last thing that i have.

Anyone can speculate the price of cryptocurrency but finally things will be worked as price revolves around in the exchanges. So better we may decide the best coins as per our own understanding and choose the right coin.

Please fix the cheap altcoins which is very much cheaper now in the market and has possibilities to grow when there is some bump.

If you do have the funds then why not consider on putting up some money into these two things?
Well if you do ask me then i will casually stick up with BTC and theres no doubt on that but i can extent out the risk
by putting on the other side too because we do normally see these price dips as an opportunity to get in while its still cheap.

I've always preferred Bitcoin over Ethereum and I still do, but either of them would be a great buy at these price IMO. ETH did pump a bit before it started dumping, and it's stabilized a bit higher in relation to where it was before it started pumping and eventually dumping compared to BTC, but it seems like both ETH and BTC have bounced off resistance at this time. I'd suggest not buying all in at one price point at these levels, though- although the dumping could already be over, there's still a possibility that we could be in for another leg down to the $7ks and perhaps the $150s for ETH.

This is not the price to panic. But I don't want to buy BTC and ether right now. The ETH price always follows the BTC price. I usually prefer invest in ETH.

Prior to that price decrease, what's your preferred coin to buy? What're your preferences when choosing coins to buy?

I don't know how it was became a concern after the recent price dive.

Diversification is a horrible advice within crypto, especially in the very long term. If you diversified your portfolio this year, the altcoins would have severely suppressed your percentage gains because Bitcoin outperformed most of them in dollar terms, and also in satoshi terms (which hurts people the most because their main target is to stack up satoshis).

Altcoins are interesting vehicles to ride out an overall altcoin season, but as long as they keep going down, I would recommend people to stay away from them. Without retail fomo money entering the altcoin market there won't be an altcoin season, unless exchanges as Binance collectively pump their altcoin prices to trigger retailers to flow in, but that's just wishful thinking at this point.

Diversification is something people do with stocks and some other legacy assets because it actually works there, but in crypto it does more harm than good.

Absolutely! I think it will be a good strategy to buy both as I assume their prices could go as far as their respective ATH's in the next bull run. I understand that the market is now experiencing massive losses but Bitcoin, being the leader in cryptoverse and its popularity and ETH's smart contract features seems very compelling that I cannot think of any other reason why its prices will not have a significant rebound sooner or later. Imho.

I once had greater amount of ethereum than bitcoin because I saw it's fast growth that it reached 0.1btc or $50k usd that time but many said it was because of the hype of ICO's way back 2017. I lost so much money from it that I sold it at 0.03btc. Now I will just buy and hodl bitcoin. If I would buy other crypto I won't make it a long term investment.

Yesterday, the other day, the months before that, today, tomorrow, and the next years both Bitcoin and Ethereum are occupying the first and second rank, respectively. Yesterday they are cheap, today they are cheaper, it means it is buying time.

Do not put yourself in difficult yet unnecessary situations. It is not forbidden to buy ETH if you already have BTC. Neither is it forbidden to buy BTC if you already have ETH.

of course I will buy as much bitcoin as I can because buying ethereum cannot guarantee a price increase, whereas if you buy bitcoin then you can get a guarantee that bitcoin prices will always go up due to the influence of high total supply and demand.

You have that point and that is your perceptions both of them. There's always a guaranteed gain with Bitcoin unlikely what we possibly get in Ethereum. It is understandable that ETH is in big market struggles even we found it useful in crypto but the demand still at low causing its price not even to move. Not just to be one-sided, I'll consider them both to buy with and hold until the next bull run will come.

I bought ETH and BTC, they are cheap for me and I know they will grow together and they will continue to move. You don’t have to choose on where to invest between btc and eth because they are good and profit will be made if you have more coins to depend on so better to buy btc and eth.

I would say both if you can effort it.

The thing is that, I handled both of these coins before it dumps and thus I wouldn't be able buy more at dip. But if ever I have some spare money to buy more, I'll prefer to buy more BTC since it's more stable than ETH as of now. Another factor is that I'm focusing more on trading with BTC market since it has more volume than ETH thus I'll benefit more on the next bullish season.

That will depend on how much money I have. If I have more than $10k, I will buy both bitcoin ethereum at the same time, but I will make sure that I can get a low price by analyzing the market first so I won't disappoint if somehow the price is down for more. Perhaps I will place the order buy below than $8100-$8300 as the first level price just in case if the price is down deeper. And if the price is down deeper, then I will place the second buy order at $7700-$8000 and wait for a while.

That will be used too for buying ethereum. I will place at least three order buy at the market to cover the average buying price so I can get a very low price. If the price can increase by 10%, then I will sell some amount to get the money back, and I will wait for a while to buy again at a low price. I am sure that if I can repeat in buy and sell, I will make a big profit from bitcoin and ethereum although I know that will not be easy to repeat.

depends on what you prepare. for now, I might buy bitcoin. the potential to rise to the price of $ 10,000 is still very large. so, if you have 1 bitcoin when the price goes up to around $ 1500. maybe ETH has the same potential, but it all depends on what you consider to be the best asset. right now I feel that bitcoin and eth are the best assets, so neither of them matters.

Of course I would buy BTC and ETH cause they are both profitable. But if I could only choose one, I still prefer Bitcoin over Ethereum. As I see the market everyday by monitoring, BTC grows faster as it changes. We are seeing now the downside but later on, it will pump again so its giving you the opportunity to buy more.

I will prefer to buy etheruem because it doesn't fall heavily like bitcoin, that is if it will further fall. Also, because etheruem has the potential to rise more having been on downward for a long time after the ATH. I could make better profit from it if I'm lucky to hodl more by the time it starts rising.

For me, I prefer both sides because both sides are profitable and different fluctuation and leverage. You can't say that bitcoin and ethereum will fall at the same time, right? So why don't we invest in both sides? But in terms of picking one, I much like to pick bitcoin over ethereum. First the popularity, second the price rates, and last is the way you can trade it will, I analyzed BTC as much compared to ETH.  :)

I would double my fiat amount and buy some btc and some eth on it. Because nobody knows what will happen with price in future.

I think both have very much similar potential but Bitcoin to me is slightly higher in risk because of the value. There is a lot of room for the drop but with Ethereum, the limit is there. So my preference would be Ethereum but I am not interested in this. I feel it’s far better that we do trading and I do just that. Even in the beginning of 2019, a lot happened on the cryptocurrency market, since even the increase in Bitcoin prices did not affect altcoin, including ethereum.  Apparently there was such an impression that Bitcoin has a lot more chances for growth and therefore most users got rid of their suspicious altcoin and bought Bitcoin.  This is how I can explain the growth of Bitcoin.  But Ethereum is a separate conversation, because I believe that Ethereum today is an independent coin, which does not depend on anything and therefore independently forms its popularity and pricing.  It is possible that after the next update of the ethereum, we will see the highest degree of investor interest in ethereum and this will directly affect its price.  Thus, I believe that in the coming years we will see a more rapid increase in the prices of Ethereum than for Bitcoin, especially since the advantages of Ethereum over other cryptocurrencies are known to everyone.

Bitcoin is a better performer in the market as per my understanding. Ether is a potential coin too but as per the current market trend it would be wise to invest in bitcoin to gain some profits. For the long term though, I would prefer investing in ether since it has more room to grow. Bitcoin has more room to grow too but then it would be over hyped in my opinion.

Well for me why you should choose among those two cryptocurrencies if you can afford to buy them all. Bitcoin is for long term investment and Ethereum I guess for a short term purpose. It's up to you now which one do you prior to buying but if I were in your place I would prefer to choose Bitcoin because it is highly volatile than Ethereum. Indeed, as I have said, buy them all if you can afford to invest, or split your money into a two part for bitcoin and ethereum.

I will buy the one that has the tendency of rising quick and balancing up first which we must have been used to too to see that it is bitcoin that always take the lead here. The reason why I would just go for Ethereum is just to have the hype of holding at least up to one coin because it is far cheaper, buying 1 bitcoin at $8500 will give me over 20 Ethereum, but it is not about the quantity, but the quality of the coin.

I believe that bitcoin will always grow higher than Ethereum in ratio in future, and I would just prefer to buy the little that I can buy in bitcoin, but if I have a spare money, I could actually but Ethereum also. There is no harm in diversifying, we cannot completely rely on one source of income or Investment and I think it is therefore worth it to just invest in the both of them.

For swing trading I prefer Ethereum over bitcoin because of the volatility, but for the long term I would say bitcoin of course. it's the king and the father of all coins. Having that said, it all depends on market situation and timing, right I am all in Ethereum, but if bitcoin price reach my target I will switch. As recommendation to you, choose bitcoin is more safe to you than altcoin, just try to get it in fair price and set a stop loss to protect yourself from significant drop in the price.

Everyone mentioned this will tend to choose Bitcoin more because this coin brings value in our lives and opens up new opportunities for profit. I often recommend that some people in my family hold some bitcoins because depositing money in a bank is not very profitable for them. Of course the risk will be very high because that is the amount of savings that my family has and if the market has a large decrease that investment will make me face many difficulties.

If I only have a lot of money then I would buy btc but I don't. So my ultimate pick is Eth and besides, Eth volatility  is reaching to 10% - 20% which is extremely high compared to bitcoin's movement that is only 5% - 10%. I like btc but it's plain to see that Eth is right now has much more room to grow and btc had already its turn when it spike from $3k and that was the best chance to buy bitcoin.

Buying Eth can be a good choice for people who don't have much money, and I agree with you. I choose to buy Eth too, and with the increase in that percentage, I think that will give a nice profit to us especially if we can repeat it more than 3 times in a day. But that will depend on how good Eth moves in that day, and if Eth can get a pump, I think the price can increase more than 20%. So that means, we can make a lot of profit from the Eth.

Now, I don't buy bitcoin and ethereum because I see that both bitcoin and ethereum has increased for a small price. And if there is nothing happen until the next week, we can predict to see some good movement from bitcoin and ethereum and who knows, the price can back to last higher price. If that happens, it could give us time to recover the losses that we got yesterday.

I think these two coins are eyes of the Cryptocurrency so both are buying for long-term relationship. The current trending is backward so little panic to invest in cryptocurrency. But Bitcoin is the good investment on all the time because sometimes it will going to moon also so we can trade Bitcoin it makes good profit on short term. This year again all are believe the both the coin so think smarter they choose any coin.

Look at the price difference of each coin when they are fluctuating, the bitcoin has the bigger difference compare to Ethereum which only have $30 drop, unlike bitcoin that have $1200 drop, it is just a simple math, if you want to earn bigger profits then buy bitcoin if you have the funds to do so, but if you can't afford it, then just go for Ethereum and do Day Trading, to make profits out of it then use that profits to buy bitcoin if you still wanted to invest on bitcoin.

Honestly, those both coin are really good and worth to put your investment to. It is more likely they are the main coin in crypto market, the availability in any transactions is better compared to other. Moreover, these two has been tested for a long matter of time as a matter of fact they had experience of depression yet they unruffled, they achieved what the other coin cannot do and more. Probably, these are just few of the many reason why both of them are worth for your investment so don't hesitate in these two.

Those two coins the price movement is still unpredictable or not known if it's increase or decrease again. But Im really sure that what ever you choose or a trader to buy between the bitcoin or ethereum that is good for longterm investment and for sure good return will get.  But now my priority is ethereum because I believe that I get more profit to ethereum than the bitcoin. 

I will buy bitcoin for sure because the price of bitcoin now is too low compare to the previous months. If the price will continue to go down just hold this coin, cause this coin is good for longterm investment.

I believe bitcoin still prefer to buy than ethereum, from the volume and news we can see the different. In many cases people will choose ethereum because have range price not too far but that a mistake. We should see from all side not only from one side. Since 2017 I hold my ethereum and even it hit the ath price in that year I still hold it because I know it will become more expensive. But then in the year 2018 we experience huge dump that's why in that year I buy bitcoin and ethereum since they dump I grab the opportunity to buy bunch of it. I still watching the movement of market and I just focus on the movement of ethereum because I know somewhere in the next year it will pump again and it may reach the mars not the moon.

Both should be in every wallet. They have the highest market cap and reputation in the crypto world. Therefore it is not right to choose between them, both should be in every wallet. With the remaining money you can look at other altcoins. The last drop has had a worse impact on other altcoins, and it might be a good time to collect them from cheap price.

If you are not invested in the market it could be a good idea to wait for a few days or weeks to see if the market keeps going down, I say this because if this is the beginning of a crash then it will be better for you to wait and get more bitcoin or ethereum for your fiat, besides if you are a long term investor the best moment to enter the market is when it is not moving much and it is relatively stable, something that is not happening at the moment.

With these two cryptocurrencies, it is not possible to choose what to buy and what not. You need to buy both coins, but which is more and which is less, you need to look individually

both are very good coins. so far, I also have quite a lot of ETH. I assume that with ETH prices, I find it easier to collect bitcoin. for example, currently, the price of ETH in the form of bitcoin is 0.021btc. if we have 10 ETH and ETH can rise to 0.035 btc, then we can get 0.35 BTC if we sell it in the form of bitcoin. Well, that's just an example of 10 ETH, we can easily get 0.14 btc.

I am not really interested in bitcoin. I'm quite allergic to people pushing the price too much even though its value is nothing.
Therefore, investing in ETH is still safer at this time. The price is still very cheap and we can expect a bull run in this Q4. ;)

Between the two, only bitcoin although there are other alts I like and regularly buy.

To be honest, I never liked ethereum much. It's just too slow (as that kitty game showcased sometime back) and imo it's too complicated for everyday users to ever become mass adopted.

Individual comparison of both will not be enough to decide on which to buy. At the moment, the crypto market is down alongside everything. Bitcoin has become the head of all cryptos and as such, you should consider having it. ETH on the other hand is a very nice thing to buy too, I would suggest having both if them.

Bitcoin is down 17% for the last seven days and may fall below $8,000 probably around $7300, in that case, you may want to wait until it happens.
Ethereum seems persistent at this point, have lost roughly 3.3% for the week but will drop again if bitcoin price tumbled.
If you have to choose one, I will suggest buying ethereum because it won't lose the value so much like bitcoin, right.

In my own opinion i would rather buy both of them because bitcoin and ethereum are the top cryptocurrencies in the market, that is why both of them has a potential to increase it's price more in the near future that will result a huge profit for us. It is also impossible to lose both of it's value because a lot of people are investing their money to it.

The decline in ethereum prices is not as drastic as bitcoin but the increase in ethereum prices is not as drastic as bitcoin.
Bitcoin can go up to 300 $ -500 $ even more overnight. Whereas ethereum so far has never risen to hundreds of dollars.

My advice if you have a lot of money is better to buy bitcoin. But if your capital is small you should buy ethereum.

Any-day, i will prefer bitcoin over any shitcoin.
Don't forget in 2017, Litecoin was the most stable altcoin and people were investing in it saying bitcoin is very volatile and litecoin is stable like silver. See the litecoin condition today, it can dump more than 50% in a day but not bitcoin does so much.

I will go for ethereum,  the reason being that ethereum  is more cheaper,  because there will be more units to accumulate with such price and ethereum can easily attain an all time high price easily

Buy ethereum when you prefer to do trading often. It is needed in every transactions. The potential for ETH to increase in price and value is still in there, it just need some time before many whales find it more useful again for their projects same with BTC but I prefer to buy and hold it since we never know when the bull is coming. We need to still have it.

I did buy both but I buy more Ethereum compare to Bitcoin as I saw promising profit in Ethereum investment compare to Bitcoin even if the bitcoin dominance is very high over other currencies which is more than 50% in the past months.

That's my view for a long term run of investment as I am hoping that Ethereum will reach more than 1k$ dollar again in the near future and the profit will be x5 or more which is very difficult for the bitcoin to reach base on the price of 8.5k$ (8500$ to x5 will be 42500$).

All you have to do is buy Ethereum and then you buy bitcoin using Ethereum because you can reduce its charge compared to bitcoin immediately and you will buy significantly less on the transaction you make. This is just my advice to you that I think is right if you are a practical person.

I would prefer not to buy at this moment. The decrease on the price (percentage) of both of these cryptos are not that far from one another simply implying that both of these coins are negatively affected by the downfall, same with other cryptos in the market. I would go with the "playsafe" strategy as what was practiced before, to hold and not to be discouraged by the downfall. The situation is really tempting. I have even planned to sell some of my holdings but good thing I was advised by my friends, not to. Maybe, we should wait for a little more.Investing I think is not suitable this time still.

Yeah, to choose between the two I would opt for BTC right now, as there's going a hard time for ETH from the past few months. On the other hand, as per the current market trend, I believe buying now BTC would be profitable in the near future...

I think now we need to wait a bit, as the market is bearish. In a falling market, it is better to be either outside of it or to profit from margin trading.

I don't have a huge budget for cryptocurrency, so if I were to choose between the top two coins I'll definitely go with Ethereum. Bitcoin is kind of huge and expensive for me, it's better to stick to Ethereum at the moment.

I go to the cheaper because I want full amount and not just .01 or .1. I want a whole of it so I'd go for Ethereum.

If you really want to maximize your profit and not get confused on what to invest in that i say in vest in both because both of them have really good potential, but if you really can't invest in both of them than you should just go with the safer option which is bitcoin, which you can never go wrong with it  on both long term and short term, but when bitcoin rises so does ethereum and so if you invest in both of them you get best of both worlds, and etehreum is also has a good potential to be a great cryptocurrency and rise to high prices.

I agree to take both. however at this time, the development of ETH was also quite convincing. it might be very easy for ETH to rise to $ 250 when the BTC prices recover to $ 10,000. choosing one of them will make you confused. Both cryptocurrencies showed growth on October 1, and Ethereum was even better. However, I do not think that it should be the criteria to choose this or that crypto. You should trade, sooner or later, even if you are planning to invest online and hold. Therefore, it makes sense to invest in both, Bitcoin and Ethereum as these are two main cryptos on the market, and they will not give up these positions.

Why not invest both btc and eth if funds permitted it? This is good also for long term investment as we can observe btc has high dominance in the market. It really makes sense to invest both as many also who truly hold these coin and patiently waiting for the price to goes up.

I will prefer to buy Bitcoin as it still average dominating the market than Ethereum. This is because Bitcoin is the most trusted crypto currency in the market as it already build a deep foundation of trust among the investors to make their money to grow unlike the Ethereum in which the platform is now slowly challenged by some Altcoins.

I always prefer to buy Bitcoin as this is the pioneer of this digital concept of money. But, as the price of Bitcoin has gone high in the recent days so, buying of this coin may not give that much of profit as the Ethereum will give in the coming days. Why don't you educate us on how do you expect ETH to go up in the coming days? I am someone who has a long association with cryptocurrencies (stretching over 7+ years) and I could not see a good future prospect for altcoins such as Ethereum. ETH is facing a lot of issues right now and the third generation cryptos are beginning to sideline it.

The issues for ETH started with the collapse of the ICO market (ironically, it was the same ICO market which gave this coin a 100x rise in 2017). This was the single most reason why ETH prices collapsed in 2018/19. On top of that, they are facing issues related to transaction fee and security. From what I have heard, the daily transaction fee for ETH has reached record high levels.

- You shouldn't put what you like into your investment mindset because that's one of the reasons that lead us to failure, although bitcoin is really as good as you said but it is also an insecure investment, and we cannot say that buying bitcoin is profitable, sometimes we will win and sometimes vice versa. The reason for these two possibilities is because of the adjustment of the market and the establishment of trend of investors, everyone has an individual's need, and they never want something to go up or down forever, everything needs a balance to work properly and to make money.

If you can afford both then buy them both, now is the right time to buy them since the price is low and as we all know both are considered strong coins and we can guarantee that it will pump up again, we just have to wait a little longer. The market seems to be unfavorable this past few days and it seems very unpredictable but just be patient, as what the saying goes and I quote “good things comes to those who wait”.

Based on your words, if I were a simple layman, I would refuse to buy both coins.
If you choose one thing, I would choose Bitcoin, it has significantly more positive dynamics than Ethereum. However, this would not be correct in terms of the distribution of risks during the investment.
The market is already divided into 2 parts bitcoin and altcoins, which means that when investing, you should use such a thing as diversification, thereby acquiring a little of both.

There is no choice for me because I will choose and buy both, because investing in Bitcoin or Ethereum is very profitable and but I am more dominant in bitcoin on the grounds that bitcoin is more profitable because lately the movement of bitcoin is still in good condition.

It is better to be slow and steady than all those other altcoins that have very high rate of volatility and cannot be reliable for receiving payment, what will you do to receive a coin that is equivalent to $1000 today and then you wake up tomorrow to see that it had turned to $50, or Ethereum that you could receive the $1000 and in the next few days, you could either still meet you money there exactly or meet it with little increase, and even if it will drop, you meet it with a little drop.

The ratio is pretty fine, being honest. Bitcoin is the real game. For making huge profits in pretty small time and owning an asset that exists in small quantity, bitcoin is the go. As far as Ethereum goes, it is the next trustworthy digital asset in terms of survival and financial benefits. That is what we called market risk investment. Because we have to risk our hard works money. If we believe that these coins could possibly giving us more gains,  I have to put a lot on it and I am thinking that bitcoin and Ethereum are worth to try. I have giving my trust to these coins and definitely I'd never lift my trust to them even the market turn down.

Etherium has more chances to be a currency of the future. It has advantage system of smart contracts which allows connect different bussiness spheres in one ecosystem.
If ETH team will sucessfully make HardFork with transfering to PoS it should increase price in 30-50% I think. So my choise is Etherium.

I'm still waiting for alts season to hit. By that I guess I'll be investing on alts. More on alts that time. I love watching alt season just like what happened during the pump at 2017. At that time all I garnered was profits. All but profits. But now I guess I'll be investing on bitcoin.

I think this depends on the money you have, if you have a lot of money then you can share it by buying bitcoin at ethereum, but if you want to get a guaranteed profit then you can buy bitcoin and save for the long term which will make the price expensive and You can benefit from bitcoin.

Instead of picking one of them, why not invest into both of them. Bitcoin and Ethereum are the top 2 coins right now and many believe that these 2 coins will give huge profit for the them in the long term. My choice would be bitcoin since the halving is near and it will be wise to accumulate. Ethereum is good but once the bitcoin price hike again then the value of altcoins could go down a little since a lot of investors could sell their altcoins to have satoshi.

Actually there are technical limits with BTC that prevents it to become mainstream. At least up to now.
But also ETH has limits.

Maybe you are right or maybe not but if you see on merchants the one you can see is the bitcoin and ethereum sign so provably people will still go buy bitcoins and ethereum since they know it has a foundations which makes it stronger and for sure people would not risk on new things coming since there are several trying but all fails and by this many people lost there money and for sure they are afraid on this scenario to be happen again.

I don't recommend to take action based on what is showing in one given day, because tomorrow or in an hour things could change and it could be the other way around, study the graph for the week, then give your observation, there should be news on why the price is going up and down, also consider every news that comes along before you decide to ask or buy, the market is highly volatile and changes happen every hour.

On point sentiment there.  Bitcoin and Ethereum have both been slaughtered by the market and its a good time to buy either one or both in my opinion.  Looking at Eth I think it could be that its the better choice, tho.  At under $200 it would appear to be severely undervalued based on where its been and where its probably going to go.  Its at $175 right now.

As well as being undervalued, Eth is probably underutilized.  Bitcoin and Eth both have the potential to be economy changing currencies but their functions (to me) seem completely different.  Anyhow if I had to pick one at the moment, it would be Eth.  In fact I've bought small amounts of it over the past few days because its one of only a few altcoins that I think have a future in crypto.  Most altcoins are shit coins and won't be worth the electricity it takes to mine them come 10 years from now.

Other Blockchain are beginning to take over the market now and it would not be long that chain services like stellar, binance and Tron takes over fully from this Ethereum, but I will not completely write Ethereum off now, I will still give them the benefit of doubt to see what they have to offer again in the next release of their Ethereum 2.0.

Ethereum's hype from previous years was because the hype of ICOs. It almost drive it's price to 0.1 btc per ethereum. It's still a good investment and they have a big update together with bitcoin's halving. If it's not a good project then it wouldn't stay at the top 2 spot of coinmarketcap and start to lose value.

I don't know why anyone in their right mind would go after Ethereum under current circumstances. The value has dropped by almost 95% from the ATH levels (however, it has recovered recently a bit), and the trade volumes are at all time lows. I do not see how your capital should affect your decision of which coin to buy, there are only two alternatives one of the coins is outperforming the other or both coins are performing in a similar way, if it is the later then it does not matter in which coin you are invested or in which coin you would like to invest but if it is the former then you need to move all your funds to the coin that is presenting a better performance, that is the only way of becoming profitable over the long term in this market.

I don't know which one to buy, because you know that getting profit from coin eth and btc is very difficult, especially for small fund of users. If bitcoin disappears today, no one will support ethereum or any other digital currency. As I checked them both in the price at the coinmarketcap they're the same increased since yesterday, when bitcoin last week got dumped its price Ethereum pumped it price and yesterday bitcoin got increased in the market then Eth got increased more again which so  far was 191$ so I think I buy them both so that I could get double profit in my opinion.

If you think to buy bitcoin or ethereum you should buy both. With different purposes and different concepts they are making their own paths. In the past 10 years when we look at the price bitcoin is much better investment, but if we look at development and technology, bitcoin and ethereum have so many differences. I don`t see bitcoin and ethereum as competitors, they both have their own ways. What that has with price in long run? Nobody can predict the future, nobody can say what will happen in the future. Ofcourse bitcoin is the most valuable at all as same as ethereum but most invested is bitcoin so its better to choose bitcoin, at time time market goes down so its dangerous to invest from now avoid lossing some money.

Of course both btc and eth are worth to invest. In my heart I always choose Bitcoin :D But my mind keep telling me that it is better to choose Ethereum, because it has better technology and bigger potential. I agree with many users of the forum who say that it is right to invest not in one coin, but immediately in Bitcoin and Ethereum.  These are the two most promising Coins, which will be very widely used by the community in the future.  In relation to other altcoins and bitcoins, there are a lot of questions that indicate the existence of problems not only with their popularity, but also with practical application.  I believe that in order to avoid big risk, it is better to allocate a certain amount each month for investments in Bitcoin and Ethereum, and not to give all the money right away to buy cryptocurrency.

For me, I always prefer investing in altcoins since bitcoin is quite expensive these days. I think this comparison is really very difficult to choose in specific coin because both of coins are most promising at any moment. ETH is highly downtrend from the since end of 2018. Holders something disappointed for this long term downtrend. So, now BTC is the best investment in my looking but definitely only for the long term investment. Because it will be hits 10k$ provably early stage in 2020. That's why you can effort here.

ETH is a good, solid coin and worth investing but still I would always give advantage to Bitcoin. It's more profitable and more aplicable in real world.
