For sake of transparency I've filled the same request for a period of 48h in the past, escrow wasn't used. I am available and willing to hold DadyD's funds/collateral according to the terms both parties agree to. The funds I have in my possession currently from DadyD would cover this loan +10%+.

Does marcotheminer send the collateral to the lender?
If yes, I'm willing to give you this loan.

@DadyD you have 0.0017 BTC already, which you want to use as collateral to borrow 0.0015 BTC?  Why?  If you need 0.0015 just spend the BTC you already have then pay yourself back, with interest if you must.  Using an asset as collateral to borrow the same type of asset and then pay the lender even more of that asset just seems like the stupidest thing I can think of.

And another thing that causes my brain to hurt: Out of all the reliable, reputable, trustworthy lenders and escrow agents on this forum you choose to deal with marcotheminer?  Have you seen his trust rating?  What the fuck is really going on here?

marco is the only one who trusted my and startet to deal with...Its hard to start as newbie. I dont care what he did in past, with me he was fair.
I'm trying to get some loan to incrase my trust, i have to start somewhere and i decided here. Its stupid, right, but at least i can build some trust base. I just want to proof that i'm not a scamer, even if i lose some btc early. Thats all.

Dude, this is the exact opposite way of getting trust. You are probably getting a negative trust now.

Getting a ton of loans just to increase your trust? Really? Don't you see how shady and dishonest this is?

The only shady think is that i mention I do this think to get trust. If i didnt mention that whould be a good think. Anyway, till i dont scam my loaner or rekt someone by evaporate from there i think its all in my favour.
Dishonest? Buddy, all scamers and newbie comes here asking for loans without collateral or escrow, I at least took the trouble to find myself an escrow. I have 0 trust and merit, i just want to build some, thats all. If your not agree isnt that a bad think, its just your opinion.

Yes. Sounds exactly like the people who get a lot of small loans to build some trust and start increasing the amount until one day they just scam. You are basically buying trust. This is something you build through the years, and not making fake trades and getting loans.

Why would anyone trust you just because you got a loan and gave it back in 48 hours? How does that make you a trusted person? Just because you didn't scam now? How is that a guarantee that you aren't going to scam in the next loan you get or the next trade you make because you are now a "trusted" person?

And we all they them to get a valid collateral or gtfo. But what you are doing is plain and simple trust farming.

@DadyD best option is to buy an altcoin (I say ETH because of the potential BTC-pair to increase in the coming months..), and then use that (roughly 0.08ETH I think) to secure BTC for you to use.

EDIT: This is about COLLATERAL, Direwolf

Its normal to think that. All of us could do that, i get loans and I disappear after i got 1 btc as loan because people trust me. We could all do it. It's just a matter of trust. Even I thought that people could arrive at your own reasoning, it's just a risk I wanted to take.
"How does that make you a trusted person?"...hem...Can you explain to me how people come to trust each other in the field of commerce? I mean in the online btc business. If I want a loan, do I have to prove that I can pay and at that moment gain trust or not? And obv pay it back.
And we all they them to get a valid collateral or gtfo. But what you are doing is plain and simple trust farming.

Ture, i even admited that i'm tryng to get trust. Somewhere i have to start.

Well, don't be surprised if no one jumps on your offer.  It's not only you that needs to trust marco, the lender must also trust your chosen escrow.  Good luck with that.

I'm trying to get some loan to incrase my trust, i have to start somewhere and i decided here. Its stupid, right, but at least i can build some trust base. I just want to proof that i'm not a scamer, even if i lose some btc early. Thats all.

Farming trusted reviews is a form of scam.  It's deceptive on it's premise.  Coincidentally, that's why I gave marco a negative review, because of his deceptive behavior.  You have just proven that you are not at all trustworthy.

I have nothing against you personally but I really don't approve of anyone attempting to play the trust system, regardless of their end motive.  If you had any trustworthiness to your character it would have become obvious in due time.  Even if all you are attempting to do is accelerate that inevitability, that alone is deceitful.

I'm afraid you just made it nearly impossible for me to trust you.

Just going to chime in here. Could we not have left this new user a neutral. Then explained to them how this is not the appropriate way to build up a trusted reputation?

OP
What is it you feel you need to be trusted to do? Newbies can buy and sell and generally bid on anything here on the forum. Sometimes you are asked to go above and beyond what other users may have to do - Proof of Funds, send first(Not always advisable but a different story)/use escrow. Seeking loans for the sole purpose as to gain credit, works for banks but here it looks shady.

Not sure if your trust will be made neutral or not, but I suggest just trying to do whatever it was you wanted here. People will set their terms with you on a case by case basis. Just to clarify for you the reason this seems really shady, is you can grab a bunch of small loans, pay them back have a few good reviews then move up to a larger loan and bolt. People have gone to further lengths than that.

The OP was given an explanation by TryNinja why his behavior is untrustworthy, and he had the opportunity to retract his statement, and acknowledge that this is frowned upon.  Instead, he doubled down and proceeded as he had started.  I wouldn't have left him a review at all if he had adjusted his approach.

Also, I have a strong suspicion this "newbie" isn't really a newbie at all.

The real question is "Why are you so eager to build trust?"

Pretty much anything you want to do on this forum is doable with zero trust by using a trusted escrow or by you sending before the other party. You can trade bitcoins and altcoins, you can trade bitcoin and fiat, you can buy goods or bid on auctions, you can sell goods or host your own auctions, and so on, all with zero trust. There is no need to build trust if you are willing to use an escrow. Probably the only thing you can't do without a significant amount of trust is offer escrow services.

I'm afraid I am going to agree with pretty much everyone else in this thread: Almost every time we see someone eager to rapidly earn trust, it is so they can leverage that trust to pull off a scam or some other shady activity.

No point in thanking me you didn't take the advice or seem to grasp the reasoning behind this. I will never understand new accounts(not going to bother speculating this) that appear and don't care to do things in a way expected of all users on this forum. You're right doing things the right way doesn't make you a good person, but it still serves a purpose. You are less likely to toss away an account with a reputation, among other things. You've chosen your way to build trust, and I can assure you it has only made things significantly more difficult for you to do business here.

Many users use loans to farm Trust, but most of them don't mention that's the real reason.

You're right doing things the right way doesn't make you a good person, but it still serves a purpose. You are less likely to toss away an account with a reputation, among other things. You've chosen your way to build trust, and I can assure you it has only made things significantly more difficult for you to do business here.

I got your advice. I just want to do all those things in my way and not "normal" why that ppl on forum use. I've explained my purpose, and i received -3 trust.

Just going to chime in here. Could we not have left this new user a neutral. Then explained to them how this is not the appropriate way to build up a trusted reputation?
The OP was given an explanation by TryNinja why his behavior is untrustworthy, and he had the opportunity to retract his statement, and acknowledge that this is frowned upon.
Many users use loans to farm Trust, but most of them don't mention that's the real reason.

And when mention that they got -3 trust. Fair.

And if i use an altcoin as other say and use to do?

I ask for 0.0015 BTC and as collateral i bring 0.085 eth and i promise to pay you back 0.0018 BTC, no, wait...i dont have to repay you cuse the collateral cover all mmmh...Sounds familiar? I just chose to repay 0.0003 btc as interest in 48h...Its just a coincidence.
Actually, you are right, it is just that you want to build trust this way, it is simple wrong.

The only wrong thing it's your attitude and your sarcasm in your first post. Ppl do it with service of loan and escrow but dont mention it...

I ask for 0.02 BTC and i'll repay you 0.022 BTC ( a normal loan+10% int ) and as collateral i bring 1,4 eth...The amout asked+10% interest...mh...

Tell me your theory i'm curious.
What about this, send me collateral 0.022 BTC and I will send you 0.02BTC, and you don't have to repay me loan 0.02BTC + 10% interest but I will keep 0.022BTC collateral?

My point was to avoid fees thats why i bring on an escrow. Your collateral and % interest are the same that's why you don't get the point. If i promise 0.0017 as collateral and pay back 0.002 on extintion thats sound more different right? As in op i've promised 0.0018 payback and a collateral of 0.0017 ;)

@ marcotheminer please return my funds, its a dead end here.

Many users use loans to farm Trust, but most of them don't mention that's the real reason.

I hope reputable lenders are not posting positive trust for collateral-backed loans since there is no significant risk involved. Based on the new positive trust verbiage ("unlikely to scam anyone") even a no-collateral loan shouldn't automatically earn a positive rating.

So basically you're back to this:
@DadyD you have 0.0017 BTC already, which you want to use as collateral to borrow 0.0015 BTC?  Why?

Give this up, learn from your mistakes, learn how this community works, and who knows, your negative Trust may be changed to neutral at some point.

Just le me know. If i have eth worth 0.02 btc and i ask for a loan of 0.018 btc with collateral that amout of eth. WHY THIS ISNT STRANGE BUT MY REQUEST IT IS!?
Because people ask for a loan in a crypto they are not holding, and provide a different crypto (that they would prefer not to sell, but could be sold to recover the lender's costs if they default) as collateral. It makes absolutely zero sense to ask for a loan of bitcoin whilst sending bitcoin as collateral. There is not a bank in the world which will give you a $1000 loan on the condition that you first give them $1100 to hold.

You are sending bitcoin to marlboroza as collateral, and he could literally send you the exact same bitcoin back (minus a percentage) as the loan. It makes no sense.

This whole exercise is just proof that you don't actually need the loan for any reason, and are just doing this to try to farm trust.

Crypto that they could hold by exchanging the collateral. Its make sense when you invest them. You cant compare real bank with crypto...
You cant be sure this "exercise" its pointless or just for farming, but its your opinion.

Thanks for your advice, i'll keep my point of view.

Technically there is such a thing as a secured credit card (https://www.bankofamerica.com/credit-cards/products/secured-credit-card/). It's a product designed - you'd never guess - to build a good credit score for someone who has none or fucked it up somehow.

Its make sense when you invest them.
How does it make sense saying you need a loan of BTC to invest when you are giving away more BTC than you are receiving as collateral? Why not just invest the BTC you already have? Why lose some of your BTC in fees for no benefit? If you wanted BTC to invest, and didn't have any BTC, then you could offer something else as collateral so you could receive some BTC.

Technically there is such a thing as a secured credit card (https://www.bankofamerica.com/credit-cards/products/secured-credit-card/).
I should have been more specific - no bank will give you $1000 in cash but ask you to hand them $1100 in cash first, but even products like secured credit cards generally provide a higher amount of credit than the security deposit provided.

If DadyD was sending 0.0015 BTC as collateral and someone was naive enough to fund a 0.003 loan based on that (for example), then I could maybe understand the point of the loan. As it stand, this loan is literally pointless.

I can only think of cash secured loans where you receive interest from collateral (well, not technically from collateral) and pay interest to bank for credit and sometimes both parties can make profit. It is still cash collateral for cash loan.

In a way it does make sense: you have $1000 to spend right there - knowing there is still $1000+ of yours held by someone else. T
If you cannot pay that $1000 back, then you have X days to replace it+interest, and you are back to your original amount. In my mind it kind of makes sense, especially if loan received is sold for cash or spent/traded/gambled immediately as is the case here I'm pretty sure.

Funds returned, I am no longer able to cover any loan funds.

Can we see the TX IDs of you receiving the amount and returning it?

I tipped back via Yolodice - that was kind of a point too.
