There is an included ultimatecoin.conf with peernodes in it. After running the client, you will need to copy it into the .....roaming/ultimatecoin directory. (Also note some people have had problems, you need to also set your user and pass in the conf file, sorry to those it inconvenienced)

I did the coin redesign, it is a great improvement over the previous design, thou it would have been better if someone who has more expertise in that area do it.
 
Done reddit, will do more work at more social media places to get the word out, I also would like others to help to do this too.

I have done everything 4 UltimateCoin except the IRC bot which TitianHash setup & he was well rewarded. This Coin is completely a grass root effort, I am not a group who pump out flashy coins with flashy advertising & flashy webpages to pump & dump coins, these people are the bane of the altcoin community. I am only one person making one coin, it still has rough edges ofcourse, but I can't be excellent at everything, eg webdesign, setting up pool servers & vps, nodes, designing coin images & graphics and the rest that is involved. Most coins are able to get help from the altcoins community when they start, people setup pools, wallet etc for them, I have not received any help but I continue to work very hard to get all the services up and running for the coin and community. This shows my dedication to the coin.

A quick progress report that I am happy to report is that things are moving along well, although slower than I would have hoped, none the less I have dug the dirt, planted the seeds & the shoots are now showing. The pool is doing well, net hash rates & users have been rising, getting a lot of views on my webpage & more people coming into the chatroom. Many milestones have been reached and I am happy of what has been achieved so far.

when you unzip, there is a ultimatecoin.conf with everything you need in it with nodes. Just copy it to the windows user area in 'C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\UltimateCoin' & restart UltimateCoin

i was mining this on http://pool.ultcoin.org/ but i can't put my walletadres in it because there need to be a emailconfirmation but i did not have that email so i cant withdraw my coins to my wallet , any idea's???

I never put any source on github, it is currently on private distribution, you can request the source, I am not making it widely available straight off the bat due to security concerns.

I need to shut down the pool to do some work on it. So it will be offline.

Miners will be compensated for time lost, I will put a request to UltimateBank to cover it as they are providing miner insurance for the pool.

scam_exposer, it is so typical of people like you to come in and kick people while they are down.

I woke up in the morning, noticed my videocard was not humming along, checked the pool and no work was being sent to stratum, I restarted the server and then all the cronjobs showed errors, I had to be out of the house in less than 30 minutes!! I still had to get changed, didn't have breakfast/coffee or anything, I could only work on troubleshooting it when I got back home later that day. Anyway the pool had a rollover and I had to change some stuff in the blocks table and that took a few hours & doing all the other things like putting the site into maintenance mode, turn it off, take a snapshot etc. Also I would like to say thank you to TheSerapher in #MPOS for helping me with it.

TheMightyX, regarding your comment on the Bank, it is just a resting page for it currently.

I was wanting to open the bank by now, but there is no point until the coin is trading on an exchange. The reason for this is the time preference system, someone has a choice to either sell their coins on the market or put them away in a term deposit at a bank to earn interest. What UltimateBank does and how it benefits the coin, when someone puts their coins into a term deposit, that person can not access them until the end of the term, this reduces the supply of coins on the market and in turn increases their value. The bank does not loan the coins out like a traditional bank however. To increase the value of the coin, UltimateBank can increase the interest rate offered which will encourage more people to put their coins into term deposits furthering reducing supply. This will increase the value of coins on deposit and increase the profits for miners selling on the market. It is simply a net benefit gain for the coin, no downside.

I learned about the time preference system of money by reading books by Rothbard from the Mises Institute and thought it would be useful to be able to use that system in a coin.

Currently with the cryptocoins everyone sells on the market because they have no other options, holding them is not rewarding enough especially when they are still being generated at 1st tier levels.

BTW, when the pool was down, the quote from the pool notifications eg "Your shares and hashrate are safe and we will fix things ASAP." if he was knowledgeable enough, that is default MPOS notifications, I didn't write it, it is what happens when certain pool services are not running. He also did not check what ultimatecoin was on github, it was not our coin or even a coin. The source code is available, all you have to do is come into our IRC room and request it. All I can say is what this guy has said is baseless about our coin.

Anyway, I just noticed on comkort someone else has donated another .01 BTC to get our vote up, we are currently running 13th!

EasterCoin is going pretty good and it has had an effect too on UltimateCoin, our hashrate has doubled now. I think these holiday coins will be worth doing again, they are fun.

Thanks waldistons, it is excellent news. UltimateCoin was 1 month old on 17th April so it is good we are now on an exchange, very good for ETR people as well as they can trade their ULT. It came together well and is great because through ETR, we have some good new people joining ULT to help. All round Easter has been great.

Aleksbv, I am sorry you mined 8,900,000 ETR on a fork but realistically when you were mining nearly every second block, didn't the thought occur to you that something wasn't right?

@Aleksbv - You were mining on a fork that You created and that's why coins lost!!! I had same problem on windows that wallet was "behind the network" (showed that it's synced and clients connected but last block time was couple hours old) and I also lost at least 20 blocks over night. It happened a lot, so I was keeping an eye on last block time and restarted client every time it was older than 5 minutes. I still managed to mine 90K with my i5-3210M :)

Aleksbv, I don't know why they are taking so long, Comkort was ment to put us on a week ago, the idea was as soon as people exchanged their EasterCoins for UltimateCoins they could exchange it right away.

I heard we were going to be on Swisscex on the weekend also but I don't know much about what is happening. A partner with Swisscex informed me that they were going to put the coin up either Friday or Saturday but obviously nothing has happened.

Comkort have not reply to emails so I have no further information.

Can't do anything else but wait.

What do you mean, I noticed the hashrate has dropped a bit somewhat.

I am going to plan to move the coin over to an X11 algorithm. I think that is holding the coin back is because it is based on scrypt and people do not want to mine scrypt coins anymore.

My plan is to restart the coin to block zero with a new wallet. Current holders of ULT will be fine however, I will do something similar to the ETR to ULT swap I did with EasterCoin.

I will implement this in a few weeks time, right now I am in the planning stages and I would like feedback/input, ideas, recommendations and any concerns you may have.

Yeah it needs to change, I am not worried about scrypt asics, just people prefer x11 now.

Ok, I am going to release a new version later this week. This version will have around 3 days worth of normal blocks and then it will reduce to zero. I will be updating the pool with this version and other nodes. After the 3 days, older wallets will not sync so you have two options. Move your funds to the online wallet before that happens or you will need to download the newer version if you still have funds in your wallet. I would recommend moving your funds to the online wallet.

About 1 week later I will release the X11 version and you can do the swap. I would like to have a few days in between of no reward blocks being generated to give everyone a break from mining.

By the time of the UltimateCoinX11 relaunch, I expect we will have new coin graphics, it will be a good all round refresh.

So move your funds out of the exchanges and prepare to get ready for the switch over.

I will contact the exchanges before the switch over and inform them of what is happening.

Guys the coin has been suffering quite a lot but I suspect a lot of scrypt coins have lately. I think a lot of people have lost interest but the new UltimateCoin X11 will be much more successful.

I have been busy with things and won't get a chance until about 10 days time to release a X11 version so in the meantime I am going to stop block payments on normal ULT with a update tomorrow. No more block rewards until X11 release. Normal ULT will still be trading but no rewards for miners so please expect that.

Try not to mine the last blocks too fast because i want to give the exchanges some time to update their wallets so they won't have problems.

Anyway for the last week or two there was not a lot of people mining and I thought it was unfair the ones still mining were making so much ULT so I decided to take away the reward.

I am studying for some exams ATM so I can't produce the X11 version until a bit later.

BTW, UltimateBank provides some insurance for the official online wallet & pool.

When You make new X11 coin, make premine in amount of current coin count of mined ULT and later swap them 1:1, so miners and traders doesn't lose a single coin. Personally I mined EasterCoin as well, but so far I'm very far from being in profit.

Also, PoW should be LONG, at least for couple Years and maybe PoS after that.
But the main point I think - not so huge block rewards!!!

waldistons, it is all relative, total supply/block reward is around the same as most other coins.

I don't like POS, I like the idea of people earning money from mining. UltimateBank will offer similar function to POS by paying interest on deposits from it's capital reserves.

After the block rewards are finished (on the old coin), there will be 1.5798 Billion(B) ULT out there, 0.5798B is what miners have so far mined, 0.9 billion was allocated to UltimateBank of which there still is 0.859B & 0.1B was my seigniorage.

I don't want to do a pre mine of 1.58B, I would like to keep it under 1B so it will involve everyone taking a cut including the Bank & my seigniorage, it will be fair. I have the responsibility to make sure the coin is not over issued and work to increase it's value.

I have talked to the largest holder of ULT and he agrees with me that a swap of 1:1 to the new coin would not be in the best interests of the coin.

consider the new coin,, i suggest better keep the total supply in millions,, 100M at most !dont over it !  it's not last year when billion coins were popular.
billion coins are doomed now,, they are easy to mine and they are easy to dump, therefore low value.
recently, 10-20M coins are very well accepted by investors. and they are usually value above 1k satoshi,, easy to catch investors .
the swap can do accordingly to the scale.

abt mining phase, i suggest 7-14 days. early birds get the worm, it's not fairy tale in reality world. and u cant achieve fairness never, coz there's always
unfairness in some people's eyes. therefore, no need to try to.

ULTBANK is a good concept to replace POS stage.  people who saves coins in the web wallet ( bank accounts ) can got interests paid.
but the payout function must work perfectly, otherwise people concern.
also, if there's a bank, there should be loan, we can further explore the functions of the bank.

can we make a coin without decimals.  the smallest unit of the coin is 1 ULT.   not any figure after point,, no need 0.XXXXXXXX.

a coin is A coin,, is 0.1, 0.1234, 0.03003839 a coin ?!

all crypto worlds is fucked by the 8 figures after the decimal... it's exhausted and less fun at all.

if we can make ULT a coin without decimal,, we are really ULTIMATE and UNIQUE !

I was thinking about that, I do not like the excessive decimals either. I think two decimal places are ideal because it makes it look like real money. It is easy to implement.

We can have ULT pennies, .01 etc. Anyway I believe μULT can only go down as low as 2 decimal places.

It's a good idea but still needs to be thought through/weigh the pros & con's.

Transition version working well now. Was was going to do a block finders bonus on the pool but unfortunately the block finder only shows up if a block contains more than 0 ULT.

 So if no block finder shows up for a found block of 0 ULT, they don't get a bonus. But if there are fees, then everyone will share in the fee and the block finder will get 1,000 ULT.

looks like i got some kinda 1,000 bonus  :P

Yeah, I was expecting every found block to give a bonus, unfortunately 0 reward blocks are not showing up unless accompanied by fees.

I do only CPU Mining and my miner doesn't support X11 so I'm out.

I've had three machines mining for the last few days using Scrypt and didn't notice they weren't doing anything. I'd consider changing my miner but it is integrated into an app I wrote which switches from one coin to another every couple of hours so it's hard for my users to all change over.

I will look at the X11 option another time, but for the moment I've transferred my coins to the Web Wallet and will see what happens in the future.

I am right in the middle of exams, that is why I created the transition version. It will be a full relaunch with new website etc but I need to focus on one thing at a time now.

I have less than a week left anyway and then I will be free to work on the new version, it won't take long.

Ok guys, I am pretty much ready to redo the coin. I will leave it for one more day or two for anyone else to add any new suggestions.

I am going to cut two 0's off ULT, so everyone who converts will receive new ULT @ 100:1 ratio. Also the maximum ULT generated will fall from 7 Billion to 70 Million.

I am still waiting for the draft coin design to come back to me.

I have been looking into the algorithm called blowfish, it looks very interesting. I had to try to break some salted hashes with it a few days ago and it was so slow, I could only get around 40hash/s with my i5 and even less with my GPU. I doubt I could break in any time a 5 character password with it, it is very secure. From my understanding blowfish only works well on CPU's. That would be a good algo to use, I wonder if any other coins use it.

should consider an algo , which is more widely applied.
so far as i know, CPU coins are not very popular, not so many people mine it.
i dont mind scrypt, RZR is one of scrypt coins which is doing well recently..
we should think up some more creative ideas,, algo is not really matters.

Hi, I can fix the coin up and get it going again, I was mining the transition coin and last week I noticed my miner died, the wallet on the pool is reporting an error, havn't bothered to do anything about it yet.

The way digital currencies are going, I doubt it is worth it except for fun.

Hooray, lets get going again. What algo have you changed to? Perhaps a merger with another small coin would be advantageous.

I was going to implement X11 then I started looking at alternatives, I didn't see how it would increase the price of the coin so I didn't bother with it.

Main reason I put it on maintenance was that not many people were mining it and those that were I thought were making too much ULT.

So for the last 4 or 5 months, there has been no block rewards, so when I reinstate the rewards, there will be plenty of ULT left to mine and it will be a mature coin and everyone will still have their coins too.

I will keep people updated what will happen, but before I put it on maintenance, the price was so low that even my seigniorage coins were only worth a couple of dollars.

 

x11 or x13 algo would help this coin a lot.
