Title: Honestly, do you guys think cryptocurrencies will be gone anytime soon?
Post by: s92225 on October 12, 2019, 03:57:59 AM
I haven't been trading my bitcoins and cryptos since this year begins, but I have noticed that the hype train is slowing down since then, compared to last year. I want some honest opinion about the future outlook of BTC or crypto per se. Should investors invest in it ?

invest in what? altcoins? no never. at least not as long as there isn't any altcoin worth investing in. until they start creating projects that are innovative enough to have some sort of long term potential, i don't see anything changing for altcoins being pump and dumps.

in bitcoin? of course! bitcoin has long term potential as its adoption is growing and more importantly since the adoption that has happened so far is still so tiny (less than 1%) and it is actually used in the real world not just traded on exchanges!

Yes, I mean cryptocurrency in general, I have been only buying bitcoin so I didn't know about any other altcoins. It is so tempting to invest in them when you see 3 4x price increases.

Invest in crypto currency is not bad option if you compare to investments in other traditional assets like Gold, stocks, bonds, etc. However, the point is which one to invest all or most of your capital?

It is definitely that investors never should invest all of their capital in only one asset, even bitcoin.
My advice is:
- 70 to 90% of your capital should be allocated for bitcoin investment.
- 10 to 30% of your capital should be allocated for altcoin investment.
For the portion of capital allocated for altcoins, you should divide them into two parts:
- The first part: 70 to 90% of them for top altcoins.
- The second part: 10 to 30% of them for new altcoins that you see kinda potential from them. Remember that part is for highly risky investment.

The hype train was long gone after the 2017 bull run.

Since you already mentioned that you have been buying bitcoin only, maybe it's a good idea to just stick with that plan. There is a slight chance that we see altcoins pumping 3x or 4x again with the increase of bitcoin's dominance.

If you still insist on altcoins, you can follow tbct_mt2's suggestion. If you're going to ask what altcoins you should invest into, it's probably best to just look on your own because you might end up with people shilling their own bags.

Invest in projects you only understand, altcoins are more risky than bitcoin. Bitcoin is always good to invest as long as we are willing to wait and didn't bother too much in prices since we wanted to invest it in long term, for me it's the safest way in investing cryptocurrencies than researching other cryptos or new projects that needs to be monitored every now and then.

Something hype will run to die condition, maybe.
Yes that is possible, cryptocurrency can gone soon.
But i think the cryptocurrency still there, only the price will gone. If we see before hype, Bitcoin already used for buying something criminal, so that is advantage because no one can kill Bitcoin. I am still confidence the Bitcoin price now is still cheap than in the future, so still hold it.

What kind of management you're talking about here? Is it tracking loss and profit? Excel is probably the best, but it's not automatic. You can use some bot that supports similar features if you want automatic tracking. If not, and you're talking about placing stop-loss and target, I think most users stick to 20%-10% or 2x3 strategy and do it daily without making notes for every trade.

It's actually good that you're not familiar with the world of altcoins, and that you only invest in Bitcoin. By doing that you reduce risk, and maybe even make some profit since you buy from the beginning of the year. I think you should focus on investing only in Bitcoin, but maybe 10% of your money can be used to play with altcoins.

When you say x3/x4 price increases, it is true that some coins can go up in value, but most of altcoins in the top 50 are fairly stable and in the short term is not realistic to expect some great jumps. What you can try is that you find some relatively new coin which is very cheap, but it has a good team who will probably pump that coin value. This is very risky trading, and most of those coins have no purpose other than just a pump/dump scheme.

Just look at the following link for an example, but know that none of the listed coins is not my advice for the investment ;)

We're all enthusiast here and only hope bitcoin could last as long as it can and probably dominant the currency industry someday. No one can't predict how long or how soon the currency will last that's why we're always advice to invest only funds we'll ok with losing which differs made on individuals preference. It's been 10 years already since the creation of bitcoin, most "so called" economist or professionals didn't believe it could last this long but it did and same fate holds for today doubters. Cryptocurrency (especially bitcoin in particular) isn't going away anything soon.

Did a thread titled; Altcoiners, don't give up yet. Bitcoin can't do it alone. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5187450.msg52552146#msg52552146) and that's my honest opinion. Both market compliment themselves although bitcoin is more favorite above others. Invest more in bitcoin but don't neglect the altcoin market although that doesn't mean you should go wasting your funds patronizing any project you see out there.

First of all a cryptocurrency can't really be "gone" as long as there at least one node. Even if for example it gets stranded with high difficulty and no miners/stakers someone can still fork it and continue the blockchain.

As far as investment opportunities... I have a somewhat inflammatory thread on the altcoin board telling everyone to sell their coins: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5190104

The most common response is something like "I have these coins/tokens that I don't want to sell at a loss and I'll keep them in case they go up because that has happened in the past". So I think greed and this unfounded hope will keep the market going for a while against any rational thought. But the chances of hitting gold are so slim tho that you're better off gambling in a casino.

Check "top" coins from 2014 and compare investing in those vs investing in BTC when it was $200-400. Keep in mind that you couldn't see the future so you'd have bought some random "diversified" basket.

Last year was the Great Depression of cryptos, even surpassing the Dot Com boom. But look at this year, they recovered pretty quick.

Besides, cryptos have lots of real-life usages, so they won't go anytime soon.

There's likely going to be another massive train of hype when BTC and other cryptocurrencies start going up again and people begin noticing cryptocurrencies more and more similarly to 2017, but there's really no good way to predict that at the moment, and people are likely going to be more pessimistic about investing into crypto as a whole after what happened after 2017. I'm not a big fan of altcoins, but I would definitely suggest dollar cost averaging into Bitcoin with some of your disposable income if possible. Bitcoin might continue dipping in the short to mid-term, but you should be fine as long as you're not daytrading.

Cryptocurrency will be gone soon? For sure not. Things like cryptocurrency that is not controlled by anyone or the government will be used and loved as time goes by. Lots of people love their freedom specially in terms of money and they can find it on cryptocurrency. For investing, you can invest now if you want but no one can push you to believe.

I agree, someone who invested until now see the potential of cryptocurrency won't going to back out now especially that crypto is slowly being adopted by the world. Imagine before there was a great depression on bitcoin around the last quarter of the year 2013 that bitcoin was valued around $1000++ and in the last quarter of 2014 bitcoin was priced at $300++, This is proof that bitcoin will keep its position no matter how dumped it is. Miners today won't leave especially that they have the complete gears already to able to mine bitcoins.

Hype train was slow in 2018 as there was a totally bear year for crypto. Both the altcoins and bitcoin kept on dumping till the year end. But thie year started good where we saw some good movements in the altcons and then bitcoin started a major pump and crossed 10K which no one excepted. Everyone was thinking the 6K level will be difficult to cross and may take many months to cross it.

Although alts started dumping, but it was obvious that when bitcoin is flying high, the alts will have no place. I am sure the hype is back on and we may expect a small bull run in altcoins as soon as the btc stabilizes.

Do you know that bitcoin is the best performing assets in this year. Read this if you have any doubt.

Regarding the hype, the fear of missing out will soon be back as we approach near the Halving. So there is nothing better than crypto now a days which can give us good profit in coming few months.

it's counter intuitive, but the first half of 2016 was devoid of any hype too---yet it was the beginning of a long term bull market. that's how bull markets begin. the biggest hype comes during the parabolic bubble phase (like late 2017) and then it gradually fades out during the subsequent bear market.

If talking about the overall Crypto market, i agree that most Cryptocurrencies will fail. However, the overall Crypto market will succeed because, among many other reasons, an overwhelming number of very rich and influential people want it to. it's important to understand that it's possible "Bitcoin" or "Ethereum" could fail, while Crypto currency succeeds. Bitcoin is just a name of a project, and that project could fail in any number of ways. A contentious fork could divide the community in such a way that the bitcoin name is left behind. I should say that i doubt it, but it's possible.

Furthermore, Crytpo currency is here to stay insofar as it represents a peer-to-peer money network. that is, unless the internet is somehow shut down by a monstrous global tyranny. But then, there's always p2p mesh network possibilities. If you see Bitcoin as a movement, it will probably never fail.

Honestly, I believe that cryptocurrencies will last for decades at least, and they are expected to become some of the most used currencies around the world, in the future. The blockchain technology is expanding largely and integrated already in so many domains, and the crypto community is also growing up with time, so I don't see why you fear that cryptocurrency disappears anytime soon.

investment or not is your decision. if you have doubts about this, you should leave, because this is not something that guarantees profit for your wallet. people will still see a loss in this matter. however, think about it, until now the development of cryptocurrency is still underway. little by little large companies are also beginning to glance at this development. You might regret it when you miss the train. besides, a person will not develop if they don't take risks. do with your own risk.

This would have be another way round if the crypto currencies are to rule. For example every company will have a coin and that coin will have a variable value according to the strength of the company. This can be taken as stocks market in the present world where every a company stocks move up or down according to the progress.
Blockchain will not be limited to currencies only. Then all the data will be stored in blockchain which is easy to access and impossible to alter for corruption.

No, I don't think so. When we use to trade in livestock and then traded in coins that didn't go away did it? We might not use gold and silver coins but we still have coins to this very day. Then we went to credit cards and bank accounts. We are now at an even more digital stage past banking and credit cards and that is crypto. The only thing crypto will be replaced by would be an upgrade of it. No one can know what that would be but we sure can speculate.

I think eventually useless cryptocurrencies the market is filled with today will be gone, but it wouldn’t surprise me if one day there were thousands of purposed blockchains that show useful information. Yes, thank you that someone else understands this concept. This is exactly right and it is also how we can have a taxless society.

I couldn't care less. Really, why should we bother with already rich to get even higher on this social status ladder?
It's the ordinary people we should care about. It's all about adoption by the everyday folks. Small business, households, elderly people those are the ones, that actually need this magnificent financial independence. Bitcoin is a definition of grass-roots movement, crypto is we - the people, not some wealthy opportunists with more cash than values.
...If you see Bitcoin as a movement, it will probably never fail.
Wise words, this wave is already on the waters, it can't be stopped just like that.
Something literally groundbreaking would have to happen, for us to forget the idea.

Like, erm, what? Beyond making dollars that is.

If you look into how the scene has developed you'll quickly see there's a boom and bust cycle that's played out multiple times.

Read the threads here in 2015. People really thought it might be over and the 2013 bubble was a one off. I'm sure they were saying the same in 2011.

Things have moved on to an unimaginable level compared to back then and every development is another signal it's here to stay.

No one can tell you anything about price but every day it's above ground increases the likelihood of it becoming properly established.

No one really knows and can accurately predict about the existence of cryptocurrencies but the price on the market says something about its demand and supply. The more people that are willing to purchase bitcoin at a high price, the more it will become valuable in the market- thus increasing its price overtime. If people were to know that bitcoin would last, then everyone would deemed to be a millionaire.

If you are skeptical about investing in bitcoin, then you can always diversify your portfolio by considering other investment mechanisms available in the market and consider bitcoin as a long-term investment.

We should be skeptical about cryptocurrencies it will sure to have their time to be known, as many already uses it as well planning to adopt, maybe it is just a research oint and in next few years is  a big adoption for blockchains. So diversifying is the only solution until it goes there. Invest some in crypto for future benefit, do trading in real stocks ,have business or invest in real estates. Though all investments takes time its how we market and strategize it to still make it till all those investment specially crypto became a need for everyone.

If anyone thinks crypto is going to be gone soon, he must have lost an amount of money.

The price of the coins is not what it says. BTC is way more than $8000. In 2015, its price was less than $1k. The difference is just too big to think about it will die any time soon. I would however think this is still in the early stage of its rise so grab yourself some BTC and major altcoins in the market because once it take off, its already up there and there is no way you can buy at low price.

It may be tempting to invest in altcoins buy it isn't really much when one invests in bitcoin itself. You should be aware of the halving that is about to occur by 2020 and a lot are speculating that bitcoin price would pump throughout the entire time we are waiting for the halving to occur. The hype train only occurred because bitcoin became a bubble by the year 2017 and well a lot of people got scared and bought bitcoin with what happened then. The hype train died because bitcoin has now returned to its mean. It may seem that Bitcoin is dying but it isn't actually. It rather is at it's the best state since this is the state where it could start being pumped up again.

the current price increase from bitcoin is proof that more and more bitcoin users, and also cryptocurrency. I do not think that someday cryptocurrency will disappear, even on the contrary, there is a very big possibility that people will be accustomed to this, like money.

in the future, I think that cryptocurrency can be an alternative that is accepted by everyone. other than that, I think big companies like facebook will start a revolution so that cryptocurrency is accepted worldwide.

evolve. adapt. or die.

right? so if cryptocurrencies will continue evolve and adapt for our fast financial and political world, it can survive.
but, in the case, if crypto are threatening to the real world fiat domination, like Libra did, the return strike will be fast and hard. as it happened with Libra, regulators hit, and important partners of libra quit the project. now LIbra is dead. this could happen to any cryptocurrency which will influence to fiat world too much

Gone anytime soon?? I don't think so... Even if it's adoption is increasing slowly, it's still increasing. Cryptocurrency is far from being extinct. We can't deny that there's already a lot of people engaging in crypto so how can you say it'll be gone anytime soon?? What I can see is it, crypro is just taking its time but will eventually increase its popularity even more.

Cryptocurrency is still at its early state, with these different countries getting interested in it, more institution taking part of the revolution, more people getting in this crypto trend, I can say yes, investors should invest in it.  But before that investor should know the benefits and risks of crypto investments.  He should also know how the market move so that he can  adapt on sentiments shifts.

if we'll going to look beyond, if cryptocurrency will be gone, technically the reason might be a strong massive super computer that can decrypt better than the way how crypto encrypts data. One possible machine could be a quantum computer, with its powerful processing power, it might surpass the hashpower of transactions and mining. But still, there's no concrete proof about this speculation.

I haven't been trading my bitcoins and cryptos since this year begins, but I have noticed that the hype train is slowing down since then, compared to last year. I want some honest opinion about the future outlook of BTC or crypto per se. Should investors invest in it ?
It's not a surprise that hype is long gone. But slowly, bitcoin will rise again as we approach the age where younger people with early access to technology are going cashless, and there's where bitcoin might come into play.

Altcoins, on the other hand, is for me not that good of an investment for long-term holding. It's used more often in exchanges to bitcoin and to other major altcoins such as ETH, XRP, etc. BTC would still lead the race and has a higher chance that would be used as an asset/investment or sometimes payment rather than these altcoins.

So, bitcoin won't be gone anytime soon. It's too early to say, and quite impossible if you look at the way people in this generation live.

The hype train is sleeping but it does not mean that cryptocurrency is dying. Without the hype the volatility is still there and the market is still going on. Still trillions of dollars are being invested in cryptocurrency and that is why as long as people continue to use and trade cryptocurrency it will continue to survive. If cryptocurrency will be gone it will be not now but maybe a number of decades in the future.

yes why not, if I choose to invest bitcoin I will continue to do.  but if alt I'm not interested. then why is the reason to stop investing in bitcoin if it's just a matter of current prices I think it's no big deal because it's a cycle. or think bitcoin or cryptocurrency will collapse suddenly, you think too far. in fact bitcoin has never been touched below 1K in last cycle.

Indeed, crypto will not die due to its current situation. Its price is decreasing but it doesnt mean that it will never woke up from below. Bullish market is yet to come, we will see bullish market again soon but for now, dont ever think that crypto will die anytime soon due to this reason. Crypto is an investment that existed over a decade. It wont last until today if it is just a bubble.

if investing with bitcoin surely there are still many investors who have a lot of money, they are very interested and want to have a part of bitcoin than they invest fiat currency or with the central bank system, because they are investors who are very confident with bitcoin because bitcoin is a good coin to invest for a long time and they hope that the price of bitcoin in the future will be more expensive.

In my own view, cryptocurrency especially Bitcoin can be better without the hypes and exaggerations that characterized the market in 2017 and early part of 2018, we don't need those for the survival and eventually massive adoption of Bitcoin as they are just hampering the effort to educate people on things that Bitcoin is representing. Now, as to many alts, I am sure the big reason why there seems to be a downward trajectory for their interest is that people are already tired of supporting projects that are not performing well in the market so there is a need for alts to shape up or be ship out to nowhere.

According to me, the trend of creating all the fake tokens and forks of coins we see must be gone for the greater good as the projects associated with them never fulfill their promises.
There is no doubt that bitcoin would never lose its userbase but I have a little concern regarding the recent news about improved supercomputers capable of breaking cryptographic functions, which actually lay the foundation for bitcoin and other blockchain use cases.
A person who gets involved in cryptocurrencies never really leaves this ecosystem and I sense no slowing down of this.

Yeah the bear seems not going out totally but still we have a great pump this year than 2018 .

Bitcoin and Blockchain technology will last a long time I think and it will take at least another ten or twenty years for it to reach the mass adoption phase. Just like the automobile Industry and the Internet and Computers took time to become widespread, the same will happen here. As for the rest of the cryptocurrency market, no one knows as many of the projects are just tokenized startups, so we don't know if they will survive or if they will die off. Many also projects are scams as well, trying hard to take everyone's hard-earned Bitcoin in a different way. I just hope Bitcoin outlives both my Son and my future Grandkids. I am sure it will outlive me.

it does bro . the hype died down a little lately  . didnt you see price of btc are falling and still continues to do so but dont worry about that because btc is in control . the hype should have return the next few weeks or months  . just wait .

i see simillar topics like this lately . idk why people have suddenly think negative  . is it about the price ? they think btc is doomed and will collapse sooner or later but instead of making things negative why can they just calm down for a while . they are only going to harm btc and make it more collapse if they make such topics like this  .

By last year, I guess you meant 2017 (and not 2018 because that was a discouraging year for cryptocurrency). Well, to be honest, I think the crypto industry has come to stay. What remains now is the expected ETF the industry will join the ilks of Forex Trading and the stock market. It's just a matter of time before we arrive at that stage.

There is little to no chance that crypto currencies will be gone anytime soon. Maybe many shitcoins die on the way but it is normal. Bitcoin and the other well backed projects will stay and will continue to grow. Altcoins are still waiting their bull run and are so volatile. Maybe you focus most of your investments on bitcoin. Bitcoin has a good chance of breaking resistance once again this year.

Bitcoin yes. Some alts that you can look at are Ripple and Ethereum.
Ripple had great partnerships this month, one with SWIFT and the other one with Samsung.

Looks like you are being struck by doubts between wanting to invest in crypto now or later. Naturally, it's possible because in your opinion the market has slowed down this year in price movements. But if compared to the previous year 2018 when bitcoin was at the lowest price, compared to now, the price is far significant in my opinion. But I'm sure Bitcoin will grow again in price, maybe you still want to monitor it

With most of the altcoins only end up into shitcoins, bitcoin is also taking another step which is close to mass adoption which only means that bitcoin is gaining even more popularity because of its potentials not just as a cryptocurrency but more of a long term investment. With this, bitcoin proves that he's not good for nothing but will forever lived as long as there are people who will chose to use bitcoin rather than other currencies.

Most investors have learned the market drill. Altcoins usually end up with nothing which is a big loss if we'll invest in it. They became wiser as they seek assurance and chose only to invest in Bitcoin and other top altcoins. I guess we're not aware but there are still lots of investors who are purchasing and holding crypto. Things will surely go back to normal when the bull market comes.

That hype train you refer to tends to start and stop periodically, so I wouldn't worry about the fact that the entire crypto market is going through some hard times now.  Prices are still much higher than they were a few years ago, and I don't think the bull-ish sentiment that drove bitcoin up to $10,000 has fully died down and that bitcoin and the altcoin market will resume its gains eventually.

And will cryptocurrencies be gone?  Yeah, I don't think so.  There are too many people in the world who support their existence and there hasn't been too much gov't regulation for them to disappear anytime soon.  Crypto is not in danger of an extinction event in our lifetimes, I'm fairly confident of this.

Instead of thinking of where crypto is right now as a bleak place, why not consider it as a good time to buy?  That's how I've been thinking of it.

Well, that's right. At least they are much more aware now than before. Besides for me, that's not possible. Since crypto is an online currency and government from other countries find it illegal so they are also taking actions to stop bitcoin because they believe that it is being used by criminals and drug lords in their illegal transactions. However, let's just hope it won't happen in the future that cryptocurrency will be gone anytime soon, in a positive way of thinking Bitcoin now is on mainstream and other cryptos for the good purposes.

You should look at the situation as follows:

why would people buy bitcoin?

why would people buy altcoins?

In 2017 people bought lots of bitcoins and ETH to invest in the ICOs and many ICOs generated high returns, the altcoins were also generating high returns. it was a pump and dump scheme. It turns out that after a few months there were no more new investors, and many governments began to create many barriers for people who bought cryptos, and the price of bitcoin and altcoins began to fall. With the price of altcoins and bitcoin dropping a lot, it made people move away from cryptos and bitcoin.

Now the idea is that many institutional investors are entering the market and have bitcoin halving. But you have to wonder if halving really will create a big price increase or not. Bitcoin ETF has been rejected, BAKKT was not a big hit, although we still have time to see how it will be, we should not be too optimistic that the price will increase a lot because for the price to rise a lot it need a lot of demand and you never know what people think, they can invest in other assets

Yes, I mean cryptocurrency in general, I have been only buying bitcoin so I didn't know about any other altcoins. It is so tempting to invest in them when you see 3 4x price increases.

pump and dump. dont be carried away because of that. It happens randomly to some altcoin. In fact, in some low traffic trading platform, it is very common all you need to check is the trading volume of such altcoin that gives 3 4x. My advice is that you must have a philosophy about investment and stick to it. Since you are already investing in Bitcoin, then that is good because it is the strongest crypto for now. No matter how bad the market is. BTC will recover one day. Others I cant say.

I don't think bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies available in the market will be gone anytime soon. It doesn't mean that the bull run is done then bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are likely to die, it is just that the price now became to normalize. I mean, the price before is even smaller. Just be smart and intelligent, don't be carried away by your emotions. Buy when it is low, sell when he price is high.

yes of course you have to invest in bitcoin. and now is the right time to buy. before the price of bitcoin rises again. bitcoin investment is certainly better than altcoin investment because altcoin is now also very weak and we risk losing it when altcoin we choose cannot develop. so in my opinion for a beginner it's better to choose bitcoin. or if you have more capital you can also try investing in altcoin. but choose altcoin at the top of the CMC list.

are you sure about the hype train is slowing down? is either you have been out of the crypto space for a long time. This year introduced a massive hype for IEO. IEO got investors coming back to invest into projects running IEOs. Apart from that, the crypto market started rising which made people investing more and also trading more.  Cryptocurrency and bitcoin are here to stay. Cryptocurrencies are the future of money..

I don't know about altcoins, they seem to come and go like the wind, especially all the (thousands) of lesser ones. But Bitcoin is here to stay. If a coin depends on a company to survive, its worthless.

Always make this test: Can you do something that could make the coin go? Ie. imprison somebody, or force close a company or group that would make it stop? If yes, you have your answer (hint: centralization = garbage).

What can you do to stop Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is too far from dying. If your basis is the price then you are looking in a wrong way. Bitcoin would have been gone long time ago since the market price of it had flanked several times before it reached the current price even it's revent ATH. Bitcoin has a long term potential and it still has a long way to go and has a lot of ways to be developed and improved.

We must stop to see Bitcoin as a bubble as it seems its no longer a bubble. But investors should invest in what ? In Bitcoin in general ? They are already investing but this doesn't mean that the price should skyrocket just because of this.

Personally ,I doubt cryptocurrencies will be gone anytime soon or be gone in general...we're just at the early days of adopting so we haven't even met the mass-adoption phase which I doubt it will come even in the next bull run. Just have some confidence and try to research a little longer about Bitcoin and Blockchain and you will see that this is a revolutionary technology of financial system.

I mean, as any form of technology, things get old, outdated and then eventually become obsolete and never used, and the people who do have them consider them to be vintage.

We've seen this with a range of tech over the years, VHS tapes, CDs and DVDs, but we've never seen it work with a financial system/payment option.

Let's see if it in the next 10 or 20 years if we see any new technologies that will look like they will replace crypto-currencies.

Same is the scenario throughout the other countries. This means the growth of bitcoin will continue with time than falling to the banking industry. There is need for technology backed services to meet the needs of common people, one out of the ten who have understood the technology believes in it and starts using it. This number will increase gradually.

Invest in bitcoin like hype where you want to raise profit with have the same risk when bitcoin down you lost your money and hype lost your money too if website scam and no paid anymore, bitcoin can be profitable if price always higher but when price down keep take save your money and sell your investment before you lost much, but in hype you can't cancel what have you invest and hope one thing you can take profit first before your investment scam.

If your trust to Bitcoin and other alts is based with the hype, and current market situation then youre in a wrong perception. If youre looking at the historical data, every year since 2010 Bitcoin's price increase are very overwhelming. Dont just compare how popular bitcoin was now and before, you look at the movement price through charts, then you can easily identity whether bitcoin or any alts actually live longer or not.
Yet, some of the alts in the market wont probably last long, but Bitcoin definitely will.

I don't think Cryptocurrency will be gone any time soon, I'm sure they will long live at least it will 5-10 next years. But if later the public wants to accept Cryptocurrency as a currency that will be used to buy anything in online or offline then Cryptocurrency will live even longer.
If the public demands to accept and adopt crypto which is very possible to happen. The fate of this industry will be in the hand of the end users that will continue to use this system. There's a lots of potential that this alternative currency will be there to stay, as long as there's people who will keep supporting this system it will not die and stay for good.

Slowing down because the price is not moving at all, or there's not much big news about Bitcoin, the interest is still there, the fact that the volume is not changing and the fact that you can still trade and I can buy a lot of stuff with Cryptocurrency, if the future is bleak then it will just burst like what FUDS are predicting to happen.

Last year's hype was due to the rise of bitcoin. The reason is that there are many new investors who want to keep up with the hype train. They do not wonder if the price of bitcoin will fall further.

Now that last year's new investors are gone, they may never again invest in bitcoin.

We don't need to do hype here only coins that need promotion because it's a new coin that needs hype. but in the case of Bitcoin, it doesn't need hype there are continuous news coming, new videos being uploaded on Youtube, and news articles being written, in fact, Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency still dominate the search engine, you just need to get updated to see the real situation.

Since bitcoin and other cryptos are on bearish sentiment you won't hear much hype about them just wait and when another bullish sentiment evolves then begins another hype especially from the media thus there is no cause for alarm just continue your trading the volume of bitcoin traded daily is a good evidence and yardstick for its sustainability in its future outlook.

The 2017 hype is gone, people are learning they are not taking the risk anymore. They only invest in a few legitimate and trusted projects only. That's a good thing only good remains but it doesn't mean that cryptocurrency will be gone, maybe some of it those sh*tcoin will be erased and forgotten. But bitcoin will lead us to a decentralized future it will never be gone.
In general, I don’t see bitcoin to gone anytime soon as adoption would be accumulating. As long features exists people will recognize bitcoin. Indeed those only shitcoins would be gone and totally valueless in the market. People who believe about the future of crypto will continue adopting and will still invest in it.

If you mean by invest in it is altcoin yes you can consider and should try and invest in altcoin and trade with it and see if you can profit more than bitcoin can give you. I know few investors who have found their fortune on altcoins and not on bitcoin so you should try it too but only invest what you can afford to lose.

Do you see people screaming about Facebook and Instagram like they did 5 years from now? Do you see people posting pictures of every phone they purchase like they did a few years ago? No it's because technology generally creates hype upon it's inception but this falls once it becomes common it doesn't means that it's use has fallen but people consider it as a normal routine thing which I think is good for BTC. So no Cryptocurrencies are not going anywhere soon the reduction in hype is just because people are normal with bitcoin now

this is what is called risk and wherever the risk will always be there, this cryptocurrency currency can disappear at any time, but as long as the internet and electricity are still there then cryptocurrency and other digital currencies will not be easy to disappear.
If we invest in projects that lack manpower and capitalization, do not even have too many plans for development, soon disappearing is possible but talking about the entire crypto market, especially those projects that are high quality, these cryptos are really not easy to disappear when everything is no longer in the ancient period. The position and development of the crypto sector has been built and confirmed in the minds of many investors, with this steady need and capitalization, disappearing at any time is almost impossible

The cryptocurrency market is developing cyclically, with periodic periods of ups and downs. Now it’s just a period of relative calm and nothing more. I do not see any threat to the existence of cryptocurrency. We have problems with the activities of ICOs, however, they are temporary and the market will surely find a way to solve them. Now there is a gradual legalization of cryptocurrency by states and this process has a positive effect on its popularity.
Since the price of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies has been practically in place for quite some time, and a long pause is not peculiar to this market, given that we entered the last quarter of the year, I think that we will soon see good news.

Iif the investment is profitable, I will invest. From my view blockchain technology is very profitable, just how we can put these investments in the right place. We have many digital currencies that use and develop blockchain technology, it will be very difficult if we do not understand crypto itself. Bitcoin is currently dominating the market, it might be a good place.

The beginning of bitcoin value was very low, now has a high value. from here we can see changes in people's values and beliefs. Conversely if the user's trust drops, then the value can also be destroyed. So cryptocurrency can be gone at any time, but conditions where users no longer trust cryptocurrency will be achieved first.

It depends on the investors, because they buy bitcoin and other currency exchanges.
And it also depends on their strategy if they continue to buy bitcoin even if it is about to disappear, which is a good strategy to buy when it is low.

I guess some years ago there was huge hype on computers too when they were new thing and hard to access but it doesn't mean demand on them is or was decreased, no, opposite happened. There isn't hype but is huge demand and massive usage on them. So can say the same on bitcoin, there was hype on it when price skyrocketed from 600$ to 20K, yeah, it was really sensation but now it's not like that and it doesn't mean cryptocurrencies will disappear in near future. No, they are innovative things which are gaining roots everyday more deeply, every service tries to integrate them and people see some hope in crypto unlike USD which is massively printed.

Bitcoin won't ever be "destroyed", even not if it ends up tanking back to 3 or even 2 figure levels---there will always be a niche market where Bitcoin will be the in-demand currency, similar to how Bitcoin was used within SilkRoad.

The trust you are talking about is relative too, because in most cases it's all related to the price action---where price up means people have a lot of confidence in Bitcoin, but when it drops by 10% the same people suddenly start to worry.

OGs have always believed in Bitcoin's capabilities as decentralized/censorship resistant money, where the price was less relevant because they didn't see it as an investment asset, but as a tool to obtain freedom.

bitcoin is one of the best cryptocurrency to use as a form of long-term investment, many people believe that in the future bitcoin will be more valuable, even today bitcoin is still being developed. therefore if we feel confident to put some of the money we have in it, it is very likely that in the future we will feel the benefits derived from the investments we make in it.

bitcoin can indeed go whenever it wants but you must know that bitcoin will not easily disappear because bitcoin has very high demand and very many users, when there is a disaster happening on earth and there is no electricity or the internet then bitcoin is only temporarily dead while bitcoin is still on the internet.

I am very confident about the future of cryptocurrency, especially bitcoin, and I have never even thought of cryptocurrency will be gone
anytime soon. Many people think that way because they may be new to bitcoin or they may not have the experience and knowledge about
cryptocurrency. Because for people who already understand, learn, use bitcoin, there is no doubt that bitcoin has tremendous potential for
humanity's life in the field of technology. So a positive community that supports bitcoin like This bitcointalk forum members are sure of the
future of bitcoin, so if there is more money, bitcoin must be bought for hold for long-term investment.

It has huge demand and really helped many people especially those who don't have work only depends on crypto. If you learned about bitcoin i think your doubt will gone. Just enjoy investing and trading bitcoin to get profit and avoid negative thinking it won't help you to succeed in crypto space. But for altcoins i think the weakest will disappear, not all will stay in crypto market for so long.

The safest coins for me is bitcoin so if you will invest on cryptocurrency then better invest it on something safe & worthy. I’m not saying altcoins aren’t worthy but lets face it, no altcoin has never been so close to what bitcoin is now. We already see a lot of altcoins come and go but bitcoin is still here going stronger and stronger so might as well invest in bitcoin only or if you really want to invest in altcoins then it’ll be fine but make sure to invest on top altcoins.

If you say cryptocurrency that means it includes bitcoin and altcoins. As for bitcoin, I can say that it is here to say for sure, it has been around for years now and it seems that a lot is now interested in bitcoin thus, the demand will continue to increase in the future. The only things that can make bitcoin gone is if no one will want it anymore but I doubt it. As for altcoins, it depends on what altcoin, there’s a lot of altcoin coming out and there’s already some who were gone, so if incase you’ll invest in an altcoin make sure that it is something that is worth the trust and effort or else you’ll just wasting money.

Let's put it this way, you need to continue lurking in the world of crypto for you to understand the whole aspect of involving ourselves in crypto.

If you based on the price to generalize everything, you will really end up having lots of questions and doubts about crypto as a whole. Don't know what kind of train you see for you to notice that there's no hype. Should we really need a hype in the first place?

Right at the moment, I cannot see or find any holes that might be the reason why cryptocurrency will be gone anytime. It is fully functional, everyone likes it, and it is a good investment platform. Even if we consider the bitcoin supply or volume to be mined will going to ran out soon, it is still profitable and expected to have huge market value in the future. Moreover, adoption to altcoin is evident and cannot be stopped.

I think the prices will slightly grow up  it will god down for a moment but will eventually grow up again because of the number of the growing number of users. Maybe we should just help in seeing what is the scam to avoid user to be scammed so that more investor will be wanting to invest in this industry. And when that happens I think the price of bitcoin will go higher.

I don't think, day by day we are getting dependent on the internet, our lifestyle, monetary facilities, security and so many aspects of our life so in the currency segment I think this cryptocurrency will be the main platform of the monetary system in the future, of course, Bitcoin will be the key to this platform, look, a lot of people who don't want to go to the Bank for reserving the money, I know a group of people who hate bank for the various reasons, they don't want to reveal their transaction to the people, in this context, cryptocurrency provides a smooth and hidden transaction opportunity, that is why cryptocurrency will be the most popular monetary tool in the future.

I think Bitcoin will bouncing off the $20,000, but the timing is difficult to hit with any accuracy because it depends upon so many factors. That said, the general pressure is down, and will likely continue to be that way until we pass through complete demoralization. I don't see that happening until at least May 2020, but it will more likely take longer than that. The last bear market was 15 months and I think this one will be longer.

In my opinion a key factor will be the resolution of the tether situation. There is an open criminal investigation into price manipulation, and until that investigation bears fruit or is laid to rest, it will cast a shadow over the market. I personally think that there is substantial evidence to support the view that unbacked tether issuance has been used and is still being used to pump up bitcoin.

Most people that you see talk like op are just after the money and not about the technology because what actually created hype was the fact that bitcoin started gaining profit and the huge profit that came out of some people’s investment was what made the hype so high, but now that the ICO market is not generating much profit again, and most people that we have in the market now are people that are more of the technology, people think that the hype has gone down.

We don’t even need all these hypes, we just need bitcoin technology to continue to function well which it has been doing already. I am still enjoying the technology as I am able to make payment easily with cryptocurrency, so I have really not found anything much that is discouraging about crypto market.

The investment in Altcoins is not very good in the short or long term, all altcoins depend on the price of Bitcoin, they usually go down when bitcoin goes up or down, the only way that altcoins go up in price is when bitcoin is in bullish trend, I see the altcoins to always make "Shorts", speculating with the altcoins downwards is the best business there is.

Now with the threat of Libra, if it is finally launched, I think it will end up killing many altcoins, because the truth is many, and it will not eliminate them because it has the best project or the best technology, it will do so because Facebook is accepted worldwide, and the immense amount of business model that it has is impressive. Even so, Libra would like me, just because it will be a springboard for the adoption of Bitcoin worldwide, that is how I see it.

For altcoin possible goon anytime soon because not trusted with developer team for building and buy back after price dump,

No, Atlcoin will never be gone since people will try to exploit this to get money from investors.  Just like how Ponzi scheme and HYIP is plaguing the network marketing industry.

but for bitcoin less chance goon soon because bitcoin is table price, many investor keep trusted with bitcoin by bitcoin still dominance in exchange market higher than 70% from altcoin dominance only 30%, bitcoin up without more than one week to higher price different with altcoin.

Honestly, it is more likely Bitcoin will be gone first before these altcoins because Bitcoin is only one and altcoins.. well there are tons, some worth holding and most are just worthless.  But Bitcoin as I think about it, will stay and will be one of the famous alternative currency in the future before another cryptocurrency dethrown it.

See this is the main problem with most of us that if see prices tends not to rise we simply imagine that crypto market will be ending soon and such things but this is not true in actual sense.Although you have traded from this year prices are down from 2017 last qaurter. But with increased adoption and investment btc will again gain dominance and prices will rise so stick to your investment and hodl it until price rise. And if you are interested in altcoins invest in only those who have developmental plans or objective in long run which can give you profits otherwise don't invest in others.

Don't worry the future of bitcoin still fine, you can get much profit with bitcoin and altcoin investment, still worth with bitcoin price today and the future bitcoin always have higher price. You can ask with old trader have invest money in bitcoin where they bought when bitcoin under $100 and how much profit earning so far if still holding bitcoin today, you need to trust with bitcoin become profitable at the future with bitcoin price always on the top.

invest in what? altcoins? no never. at least not as long as there isn't any altcoin worth investing in. until they start creating projects that are innovative enough to have some sort of long term potential, i don't see anything changing for altcoins being pump and dumps.

in bitcoin? of course! bitcoin has long term potential as its adoption is growing and more importantly since the adoption that has happened so far is still so tiny (less than 1%) and it is actually used in the real world not just traded on exchanges!
I hope you are not talking about all altcoins, because Ethereum, Monero, for example, are also altcoins. This is good and developing projects. But in fairness it is worth noting that all sorts of garbage coins really spoil the reputation of the entire cryptocurrency market. I agree with you that Bitcoin is the most worthwhile cryptocurrency and investments in it should be at least 50% of the total deposit.

Getting profit in this saturated market is very difficult indeed. Throughout the middle of 2018 until now I have not gotten a big profit, the percentage of profits is very small, on the contrary, it often loses. Nevertheless, I still think positively that cryptocurrency will bring a cheerful spring back, which is why I have stayed here relying on bounties. Avoid investing in new altcoins that lack strong market capacity because it will be difficult to return your capital. My advice, if you are interested in investing, then choose new coins or tokens that hold IEO on global exchanges such as Binance, Okex, Kucoin, etc. If the existence of cryptocurrency is seen from price movements, then it is proven that this will not end soon.

It is possibe for any cryptocurrency to die especially those coins who have no real-life use but for Bitcoin to die is a different story because the community keeps growing and stronger even though the government on some countries is resisting to adopt Bitcoin. I believe in the next few years more people will understand the value of Bitcoin and its use, when this day comes I'm sure government will stop the resistance to Bitcoin but instead accept it as a whole and put some regulations to safeguard its citizens.

Nice method how do you give details example for new trader how to manage their investment to get much profit, you give allocation several percent which one coin have to invest, I think by allocating about 70% only for bitcoin is best ideas where bitcoin have stable coin, you use 30% for top altcoin in exchange market because only top altcoin have profitable and less risk by lower price at the future.

Cryptocurrency is all coins including Altcoin but if bitcoin is lost, I think it's impossible because bitcoin is the main and first coin in cryptocurrency and the existence of cryptocurrency because it starts with the existence of bitcoin and the most popular coins among other coins.
but if some Altcoin is lost, it can happen because lately a lot of new Altcoins have sprung up and eventually just disappear because there is no value.

Although I read everywhere that total marketcap of cryptocurrencies has increased but honestly speaking, current situation does not look good. Prices of BTC and popular altcoins are stable and not increasing. New projects tokens are dying before launch on an exchange and many projects are delaying their product release and increasing ICO/IEO time due to less sale. Overall situation signifies that investors are not interested in investing in cryptocurrencies. Lets wait for some more time and hope for the best time of crypto.

There are so many proofs to see and know that cryptocurrency will not be gone anytime soon or even going at all. If strong government of the world have tried their best to actually make sure that they kill the system over some years now, and yet, the currency is still growing very hard, it would be very difficult for anything else to actually destroy cryptocurrency.

What would have actually discouraged lots of people from using cryptocurrency again is the issue of scammers, but I am glad now that people have also found a way to actually detect some of these strategies that they use in avoiding these projects now. Cryptocurrency is not what will generally be dying now, but what will be die very soon are these scam projects and bad projects that has flooded the market which is why all these top coins are the ones that will make it in future.

For sure all of us will tell the same thing, that crypto will not be gone, actually we are just starting and little by little we are adopting in almost all countries, adoption in a way that some countries are beginning to adopt crypto, how they are going to legalize it and imposed tax on it. Still we have a long way to go, so let's not stress ourselves about this.

I think a lot of crap coins will be gone, as they always come and go but many tokenized projects that use blockchain technology to generate business and revenue and are real businesses on the blockchain, maybe be here and Bitcoin has allowed for new types of micro investors to invest in blockchain tech and tokenized assets that never existed before. Bitcoin still has a major part to play as it grandfathered these great new events but I don't think cryptos will all be gone, on the contrary, the Pandora's Box has been opened until it is overturned by another technology, way down the line, perhaps generations from now. Lots of positive things are surely happening in this space and more is to come. Don't be fooled by FUD OR FOMO, just check the numbers.

for bitcoin I'm sure the future prospects will get better because more and more people are devoting it. I never thought bitcoin would disappear anytime soon. and bitcoin is very feasible to be an investment for investors. but when it comes to altcoin, I'm still afraid to devote it for a long time. saving altcoin for me is too risky. I don't think Altcoin has a promising prospect for the future. although sometimes the altcoin increase can reach 3 times, but in the end it will decrease too. I still believe for bitcoin, but not for altcoin.
I dont think that cryptocurrency will be gone because as you can see today, there are lots of people using cryptocurrency in different ways. Cryptocurrency is indeed helpful also in different ways. I can give some examples, like in the payment method, you can actually make the transaction faster and secure using an app or website that is crypto-based or blockchain-based. You can also earn here by investing your money and buy some bitcoin and use it to help the upcoming projects that are planning to help different problems or to innovate some older device or transaction. And hearing that China will adopt cryptocurrency, I dont really think the crypto will be gone soon as long as many are still using it from now until the future.

there are possible that it could be but if the cryptocurrency have a lot of disadvantage then it would be.  It takes too long before it will gone because now we can see the advantage of cryptocurrency.  There are some possible way to eliminate it but we will fight for this.

Its not possible since cryptocurrency is very reliable in terms of making a transaction and much faster than banks or other remittance center. The only problem is with the value that depends on the investor and traders if it will go down or up so it really affects the amount of the crypto.

Also some countries are adopting using as alternative payment and other services. That's why it will not be gone and it will stay as long as people are supporting the cryptocurrency.

Actually it was hard to eliminate cryptocurrencieas today since it was being adopted by countries and big companies at this time. Blockchain technology will be still there and is impossible to take off. As of now, cryptocurrencies was on its initial phase and still it was attracting new investors for them to grow. Also, I dont think that there were no people who will support it for they already saw the opportunity that these crypto can guve to them that is why there are still people that believes with power of crypto.

We are at a stage in the developement if Cryptocurrencies that I am seriously beginning to think that we would soon see worldwide adoption real soon, several Governments all over the world are beginning to realise the importance of Cryptocurrencies and what it holds for the future and they are giving it the attention and respect it deserves, one of the latest is China.

Cryptocurrencies are here to stay and there might be times when it seems that it is just in limbo and nothing much is happening but as long as you bear in mind that Cryptocurrencies are the currency for the future, you would never consider for a single second that it might disappear anytime soon.

It's technology. Everything we have right now will likely become redundant in a couple of years, it really depends on if it's able to adapt to the new world.

It's likely we are moving to a period where crypto-currencies are going to be a pretty big payment method and likely be able to replace stuff like paypal and webmoney.

No one knows what's going to happen in a couple years though. Everyone once thought their Sony Walkman was the peak of swag, and now they are basically long forgotten. That could be crypto in a couple years.

why not? The future is bitcoin and some reputed cryptocurrency and also can be a security token offering.

You can also invest in security token offering. which have established businesses just need some liquidity for expanding the business. I can show you one best security token offering name is the MEGA security token offering. Registered from London based regulator financial conducts authority. It's stellar blockchain-based and trading is ongoing on stellar dex. They are now listed as a new token. But business is not new and doing well. it's sports-related products. they are developing their website, whitepaper, business prospectus, and online store, etc.

You can see details on the website http://megafan-sto.eu and join their telegram group.

No, all that we have from financial settlement systems will not be redundant. Cryptocurrency should smoothly integrate into existing settlement systems, as well as their mutual convergence. It should also be noted that cryptocurrency is developing very quickly and we do not even know how it can look in a few years. However, cryptocurrency as a whole will not disappear anywhere. Some of its species will periodically disappear, others will appear, this is an inevitable natural process. That is how cryptocurrency is being improved.

Correct.  Bitcoin always survives every market fluctuation even at the worst prices. Bitcoin will die for only short-minded people, Because the number of people who depend their lives on cryptocurrencies especially bitcoin is large, That is why bitcoin will continue to live.

Because Bitcoin has proven itself over the years and there is nothing we can't tell that it will not as the demand continuously increasing and we are actively adopting it as well as most countries now are getting in favor with it as they can see future on it.

For me it is not that bitcoin proved something that makes it becomes in demand for the people. It is the people who proved bitcoin to others that makes it how good it is now. In relation to this, future can be secured not by bitcoin only, but the entire cryptocurrency space who will continue to support and make it happen through implementing usual transaction to digital, that will lead to greater crypto adoption. So, thinking about cryptocurrency to be gone soon will make us see the possibilities it could be, but at this very moment, no outside interference has the power to make crypto gone, even quantum computers.

I don't support the idea that cryptocurrency will be gone for good because this is what some people said during the early stages of Bitcoin. At last, they ended up selling their valuable Bitcoin for candies and pizza. These are the very people who regretted so much when Bitcoin hit its ATH in 2017. Cryptocurrency adoption is increasing gradually each year and this is a good sign that crypto is here to survive.

Bitcoin and crypto is the future. Just accept it. Bo point in fighting it since there is no reason to fight since its not a threat.

Investors have trusted bitcoin for several years already and do you think a 1-3 years without hype will make them stop investing in bitcoin or crypto?

It's about timing and the right time to invest, some small investors are already stocking their own currencies right now then they will dispose it in the right time. Stop thinking about negative aspects instead focus on what are the positive aspects that are keep on happening. Once the big whales will start to move then the bull run and the crowded crypto society will be alive again so stock your investment now if you want to earn some profit in the future.

At the moment, the demand for altcoins is still weak because of the past bull run of bitcoin so they are now struggling to recover. But I think once the bull run starts again the prices of other reputable coins like ethereum, litecoin and more will rise again. They can keep up with the rise of bitcoin while another coin called shitcoin will drop in price and experience bloodbath.

There are some cryptocurrency that has lots of disadvantage and when we are tagging cryptocurrency, we should understand that we have some that will always make people happy with their development and even if they are down, people will stay by then at trial time, and for coin like bitcoin, this are the cryptocurrency that government will back up anytime because it is a coin for the people.

There are so many people worldwide that have recognized bitcoin usage and even the governments of some countries too are beginning to recognize bitcoin usage, which makes us very far from anything negative actually happening to cryptocurrency for the moment. The only thing I see is that a while lot of altcoins will die in future but not bitcoin.

Every altcoin has got its own demand on the market due to the difference in concept, ideas, product, team, strategies for advertisement, pool of investors, level of support from the project community etc. To see a massive increase in demand means a massive awareness creation must be done in order to get more people and investors into the scene to patronize the product and the use case of the project.

A very difficult question to answer since it depends on your goals, if you are willing to hold your coins then it is a good idea to keep investing, if the price goes down then you can get more bitcoin for your cash.

But if that is not the case and you are only interested in getting short term profits then everything will depend on what happens during the next week, if the price goes up then we could see another important growth in the price of bitcoin but if that does not happen then it could be a good idea to be ready to get out of the market for the time being.

I have been around here for quite some time, and I have seen the ups and downs of Bitcoin. I was here when Bitcoin went up by 2200% in 2017. I was watching silently when the prices crashed by 85% in 2018. So by now I have a fair idea about the volatility of Bitcoin and I am prepared for any scenario. Ideally every cryptocurrency  user should remember that Bitcoin is an extremely volatile asset and there is a chance of another 85% drop, just like what we had in 2018.

Honestly speaking the current crypto market scenario is the worrying one. There is huge rejections of ICO, IEO everywhere. Investor are not risking their money in crypto market, its not looking good at all but market sentiments can change in few days. It we think technically, there is always a bear run after bull run and bull run after a bear run. Market moves into cycles. The last bear trend may the part of market cycle and currently it is going through a sideways trend, we may see a bull run next. This is my personal opinion.

Nono they are here to stay and they will be changing the economics , changing the society , changing everything around the world , people will be helping each other instead of pulling in the viscous circle of debt , if you know with Bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies the governmental bodies have the chance to become one ! Hell no! I mean it’s just getting started don’t you think? The market is still premature which we see as how volatile it is. And I think it would mature more to the point where the movement would not be that severe as it should had been this past few years. Having a much more stable market means a larger volume.

Also the news are still flooding with big companies and countries considering Bitcoin as a means of storing of an individual’s wealth in the moment of economic crisis.

invest in what? altcoins? no never. at least not as long as there isn't any altcoin worth investing in. until they start creating projects that are innovative enough to have some sort of long term potential, i don't see anything changing for altcoins being pump and dumps.

in bitcoin? of course! bitcoin has long term potential as its adoption is growing and more importantly since the adoption that has happened so far is still so tiny (less than 1%) and it is actually used in the real world not just traded on exchanges!

I too agree on this, since bitcoin is not only dominant in the space but many people now trust bitcoin. The only problem I see is too slow on transactions and high fee but I think this will be changed soon.

Comparing to last year, 2019 is doing far better than horrible 2018! When Bitcoin become strong after the long term blood bath run last year, then I don't see any hype down this year! Rather if you look carefully, you will realize this year crypto becomes stronger and it gets more adoption than before! Bakkt released Bitcoin trading, Facebook, Telegram, Kakao talk involved in crypto, Donald Trump tweeted about Bitcoin, China president endorsed the BTC and Blockchain and so many good things happened in this year! So, cryptocurrency will not be gone, rather it is becoming stronger gradually. Keep faith in Bitcoin and spread positive news about it.

Coming world cordially Will accept cryptocurrency. But a lot of ICO and IEO tarnishing this revolutionary sector. You can store your btc. Must it will increase and you will be happy. Sometimes you can  sell and buy for earning money. I can also say you that you can also invest some good security token or IEO by good researching.

You can read crypto related forums such as bitcointalk, and some trusted journal for earning more knowledge.

I am working in crypto and blockchain industry three years as a Community manager with marketing work.

Thanks

Well yeah, it just started to get a bit popular and now were talking about cryptocurrency vanishing? I don't think so, bitcoin or cryptocurrency still has a very bright future ahead and we will sure to enjoy and earn from then for many many years. Crypto will only be gone when all the people stop using them but I doubt it, crypto has helped if not all but many investors so crypto is pretty much very impossible to vanish.

I'm not super educated on the subject, at least not as much as a lot of you. But from what i sorta understand I think that blockchain technology def has the potential to be the next phase of the internet, as i've heard it described.

I think all those ICO with altcoins that dont really do anything kinda set back peoples confidence. As far as the actual cryptocurrencies I dont really know what that whole ecosystem will look like but im guessing it'll be mainly BTC LTC and ETH being used as store of value.

Cryptocurrency will disappear in the near future, it seems far from my mind in good health and that is also not my desire, cryptocurrency is growing far from before and continues to increase in popularity so that if lost in the near future it is very unlikely.
in my opinion this is the beginning of cryptocurrency to become a better future and to be multi-functional as alternative and other payments that are distributed evenly throughout the world, and cryptocurrency is a very profitable investment in the future and many people want to be involved in it.

You are absolutely right. Bitcoin doesn't have a team like other crypto projects except it's believers. Bitcoin will get support when there is more Blockchain adoption and at the current dominance in marketcap, it's ok to invest.

It will not be gone, crytocurrency is part of the economy now, many investors and traders are now with cryptocurrency trading, many believe that we should go with the technology in order for us not to left behind, and believing that cryptocurrency is the next big thing and good for long term investment too.

Maybe we can't do anything to stop it (I don't want to, lol) but time itself could kill it, the limited supply of bitcoin we do (going to) have in the market is a sign that we should expect in the future, not anytime soon, that bitcoin will fade, it will hit its turning point where it will stop rising above the ground, hence it will go back to earth from the moon and it will be forgotten. The future is always full of surprises, the bad news is we don't have long life to witness everything.

In my own personal opinion,we can't really say if bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will live in the long term because everything in this world has an end, so probably bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies would probably die. But as i can see today, bitcoin has a potential to increased it's value up to $20,000 again because it is now starting to recover it's price due to downturns. It is really has a slow process, but if we hope that bitcoin would increased it's price again, i can say that it would gonna happen soon.

If you haven't tried to do trading then maybe you must start to tried it so that you can have a one more knowledge on how to earn in this crypto field. Honestly no one can really predicts the future and we don't know yet on when would be the cryptocurrency will gone or maybe if it will be gone? Then maybe you say that the hyped of the people are slowing down, it is because of the dump of the market compare to the market during 2017 then maybe the people are losing interest on this because the market was down. But if you will ask me if I would still invest on bitcoin, I will still invest on it and look for the future if it would be have a bull run again or not, it is our decision if we will invest or not.

Hype trend always dominance with label their project with bitcoin and altcoin name, many investor can't different which one bitcoin project and hype investing because almost hype using coin name on their project. Before investing with bitcoin I know which one hype give profit depend with your money investing and how many downline you get for investing with hype project.

Actually the market is not slowing down. how did you know that this is slowing down? Did you observe from the beginning of the year until June? There, the increase in Cryptocurrency was so large that it even tripled since the lowest point of the crypto market. and this is not a slow thing for the cryptocurrency market

The hype trend is still there, but people has been smart enough nowadays, of course people are learning from past experiences, they are already aware of it, but most of us are for sure just waiting for a positive signal before we will invest again. But for now, most people take it slowly to invest, they don't give their all in compare to past years.

I am also holding part of my Bitcoin and will still hold it up to next year, still haven't the chance to accumulate, I don't doubt at all that it will be gone, it might happen that most altcoins will be gone because no real use and no development, but Bitcoin will never be gone.

I was around those days as well and the price crashed that much because of its impressive growth but this time the growth of bitcoin was not that significant so there is not a reason for the crash to be that big.

In the worst case scenario I see bitcoin crashing 66% and that will be the equivalent of 4500 for each coin but I do not find that price to be very likely, a bottom between 5500 and 6500 seems closer to what I believe we will see and once we touch that range I will buy all the bitcoin I can.

After the long bearish trend of altcoins, some turn to shitcoins losing value slowly. Well its not advisable to invest in alts unless you chose a popular coins that has real use cases.

Though im not certain with alts future I know bitcoin is different. Btc already prove its worth not just a currency. As long as there are many people supporting it and btc adoption are growing then we can expect the existence of this crypto.

The hype for bitcoin is still intact as possible, but for altcoins, the hype has really gone down, and what affected the hype was the scammers that took advantage of many investors interest in investing in altcoins and hurt them so bad ion their investment by either scamming them using the projects in the market, or hacking into their wallet.

To make the matter worse, there is no regulation that would have assisted investors in fishing out some of these criminals and bring them to justice so that investors can feel safe, and ever since they started seeing that there is no guarantee of safety for their investment in altcoins, they started to divert all their investment attention into bitcoin which was one of the things that facilitated the surge if bitcoin in that April.

In any situation, there is really 'hype' even in real life, but, what he mentioned that the 'hype train is slowing down' maybe yes, as people becomes more wise actually, but, as you can see the Bitcoin has increased in price from November last year which is $6k and now at $8.8k, it is slowing down in terms of price , but still a good sign that it is stabilizing.

Blockchain is being adopted in several companies already, its pretty much useful for all and just the early stage yet. Why would anyone thinks cryptocurrency will soon disappear where in we haven't fully used its potential yet. Blockchain can be use in several ways not just cryptocurrency. Companies can use a token's blockchain along with storing records and documents like certificates and property documents. These are pretty much useful case for the projects, they won't allow technology to die.

The prospects are huge, but for some reason many countries are in no hurry to use these prospects. At this stage, as banal as it may sound, you need a large number of supporters who are interested in cryptocurrencies. The more there will be, the greater the chance that early investments can actually be successful!

there also a high chance that bitcoin will rise next year because of the incoming halving

My economic advice to investors is to offload all altcoins and stick with Bitcoin.

Investing in any altcoin is like investing in penny stocks or worse. Only a few will deliver anything useful and even fewer of them will get attention and offer you profits.
There are some that you might think they have a chance to grow and give you good returns, just as XRP fans think. What is Ripple's plan though? They sell the billions of tokens they own every time there is increase in demand. They get richer and richer and sell you fake hope that XRP will become something huge that will be used by banks and governments, while XRP price will probably reach 2016 levels soon again.

The days of getting 20x and 100x on shitcoins are long gone and most of these projects are already abandoned.
Go ahead and burn your money if you want though and wait for a hundred years hoping your altcoin will pump.

The crypto market was really getting huge after 2015. That time many factors influenced the market. Those happenings may not be repeat again. But that does not mean the cryptocurrencies are going to die. There are lots of shit coins which needed to be clear from the market, and that is what happening now.

I don't think so. Bitcoin will definitely grow its purpose and uses. We are going digital and everyone is just so curious about bitcoin. It started the cryptocurrency and its definitely the pioneer builder of any other crypto coins. It cannot be gone easily. As you can see the price is still higher or the highest among all other cryptocurrencies.

At first I thought that bitcoin and altchoin don't change often (I mean the price) but over time, especially after 2015, I realized how wrong I was.
If they knew how to move, then everyone would invest and receive, which is not real. There is not one altcoin to invest in now, and none trusts me, while I will not invest it.
All the time it will show, it can easily happen to change that.

Cryptos will here to stay, no question about it, its 100% sure. People were trying to develop online currency for 30 years at least, but all failed. Bitcoin is first that succeed.
Now when technology is created and proven it will thrive faster or slower but it will :)

Why not investor shouldn't invest in Bitcoin? Bitcoin is not dead it is just happened we were in bear market due to some circumstances but you can expect that sooner or later market will recover again. Bitcoin is potentially profitable and there's no doubt that it is worth to invest with, all you need to have is patience. I believe that crypto will never gone as a matter of fact some big countries are now acknowledge the existence of this currency and even the Blockchain technology.

When something is new it's normal for it to get a lot of hype, lol. So, I'm not surprised ,but that doesn't mean Bitcoin is dying. There are still a lot of people that are into bitcoin, you might not know that. If you're asking this question because of the price that went down, maybe you should start considering other means of earning btc like signature campaign and trading, investment doesn't work at all times. If you check the first time it took a lot of years before a bull run happened and nobody was even expecting that, the price usually go up slowly and not that fast.

Another thing you should also know is that bull run can't happen at all times, the main purpose for Bitcoin was to be used for peer-to-peer transactions and not making people rich overnight. So try to have patience, and find some other things to spend time with.

No matter how tough and strong cryptocurrency right now, it may change in future. Change is inevitable and anytime, trends may be gone. But I am sure that it will take long before the remarks of crypto will vanish. Yet, the roads for this industry is unclear today probably we will see the development when time goes by.

A question that most people ask regarding to the future where no one can really predict accurately. But if you will based things according to how bitcoin become successful, you'll be getting the hints that it will be here to stay for more longer years. Investment needs better understanding to acquired good amount of patience. Things you understand easily gives you confidence to stay positive and not to panic to anything that being part of the cycle.

Actually the market is not slowing down. how did you know that this is slowing down? Did you observe from the beginning of the year until June? There, the increase in Cryptocurrency was so large that it even tripled since the lowest point of the crypto market. and this is not a slow thing for the cryptocurrency market

This is an aspect which is not really understood, despite all what happened to bitcoin people keep believing in bitcoin because they can see that the price always recovers and it goes even higher.

But that kind of hype is being lost on altcoins and that is because not only there are too many scam on the market, even the coins which are not scams are not showing any development and this kills the illusions of all of those that trusted the developers to do a good job.

When innovation is fairly new, it usually doesn't catch up fast but once it catches up, it soars to new heights and you start to imagine how humans has been surviving without it before it was invented, this is a classic tale about the internet, when it was invented many people didn't understand it and hated it but today, it is one of the greatest inventions of all time and has revolutionised the way we do many things.

Blockchain technology and Cryptocurrencies are the next step in the evolution of money and it is here to stay, it has started gaining the interest of whole countries and big organisations and we are approaching that stage where it would be accepted worldwide, it's just a matter of time, it's not fading anytime soon, infact it's doing the opposite.

Yes when there are many new coin everyday with new features it's quite obvious that bitcoin need to update it's features because right now bitcoin is just used as a mere investment rather than it's original motto of peer to peer transfer because it takes hours to make a transaction. It will become survival of the fittest in near future hence bitcoin needs to buckle up if it needs to survive.

As to what most of the people in the world predict and conclude, we can never deny that crypto is already part of the future. It goes together with advancement of technology and it can already be seen in different countries being advertised and regulated. Even though the hype is being slowed down, we should keep in mind that it will always be a part of your investment wherein things would get complicated but as you keep on putting your trust in crypto, it would later on surprise you with great profits so just stay patient about it.

Actually, old coins can survive until whenever if their developers can develop their projects properly, We can see how old coins still survive today because their developers are able to carry out their duties perfectly. Indeed new coins do bring various interesting features and innovations, but if old coins already have a strong team and foundation then I think people will still choose the old coins.

It will gone at no reason? Yes, as long as there are old coins I think cryptocurrency will last long because old coins are trusted and have a strong team and do good work and old coins affect the fate of cryptocurrency, and in addition blockchain technology continues to evolve and there are several platforms that have adopted it.
and it seems too early if cryptocurrency will disappear and that's impossible?

You mean, should investors invest in bitcoin? Well it depends on the investor how much he knows about bitcoin and how confident he is that bitcoin will rise in price. And in my opinion we should now invest in bitcoin because I see the future of bitcoin as good because more and more companies will be interested in using bitcoin as an alternative payment service.

We do not need more new projects what we need is to make the projects that already exist stronger than they are but unless you can code there is nothing we can do.

We can only expect for the developers of each coin to come up with new ideas about how to solve some of the issues that are common to all cryptocurrencies, and since talented developers are scarce we should only expect those developments to come from good coins while the rest of the altcoins are left behind and eventually disappear.

I agree but in my opinion, Gold is always a good investment I think this thing will always increase its price in the market because of the demand.
I think most of the cryptocurrency especially a lot of altcoins are already dead in the market but I don't think bitcoin and other popular altcoins like XRP, Ethereum, etc are going to disappear in the market or even the cryptocurrency itself is going to disappear. I think soon enough it will be used as a currency in a lot of countries even not replace fiat money as a futuristic technology it will still be used as an option of payment in the market.
Cryptocurrency is just like the internet they cannot just delete it.

I have the same opinion. At present, cryptocurrency has become part of the technology and continues to be developed so that it becomes better and has no shortcomings. in terms of investment, it depends on your own conclusions about this. if you really invested in bitcoin at the beginning of the year, then you can feel the benefits now. I don't really know about other coins, but if you invest in popular coins, I think you can also benefit from it.
Personally, I am still trying to find and collect popular bitcoins and coin popular in my own way.

It's almost the end of the year and bitcoin does not show any hype like the past years' trend and yeah, it's kinda disappointing but I also see this as an opportunity to buy more and invest more bitcoins and altcoins that have great potential in the market. I believe that bitcoin has a big chance to rise again in the coming months or years. Better be ready for it.

Exactly, it is the opportunity to buy bitcoins at a cheaper price while the bull is not yet here, it is one of the best time to increase your bitcoin and hen the bull comes then the profit will be higher as well. Bitcoin is a very strong currency that it is very hard to defeat, it may be gone soon if another coin that is way better than bitcoin but I don’t think it’s gonna happen.

NO, Crypto Currencies will not be gone....  Crypto Currency is the future of money, but it will likely be a crypto backed by a REAL ASSET, like gold, oil, or government backed crypto.  It will NOT be bitcoin which is backed by NOTHING.

But Bitcoin will revert to its intrinsic value of near ZERO !!!

The only value of Bitcoin is what some greater fool will pay for it.   If someone else will not pay for it, it is worth NOTHING to you or anyone else.

You can get rich from a bubble, and a lot of people did get rich in the bitcoin bubble.  Those days are OVER, and for everyone that got rich, just as many people will be bankrupted by the bursting of the bubble...   Look at history, look at the price action, use your brain, not your " hope ".

You can ignore reality, but you can not ignore the consequences of ignoring reality 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hard Facts

Surely the bitcoin market price will go down in the coming months until next year there is so much resistance in the bitcoin price in 9k$-10k$ surely it will continue to go down.
A lot of bitcoin assets and speculation in the market is leaking that is affecting investors in investing in bitcoin and big transactions in the blockchain are processing in this year affecting the market price.

But I agree to you tin the part that you said that bitcoin will remain in the $9k - $10k for the last few months of this year. Actually I'm no longer expecting that it will reach $15k at least. I don't think that cryptocurrencies will be gone thought. It's represent the future in the financial terme, I meant a lot of people around the world are supporting digital currency to be a good representative for the fiat in the future, Bitcoin community now is huge and a lot of people around the world know already about bitcoin and other altcoins. People shouldn't think negatively about digital currencies, it's really safe, secure and also can make a huge difference in the future in the term of finance.

Maybe in your thought this year isn't that prosperous, but I personally felt this year to be more pleasant. In simple the growth in the market and the price compared to the starting months of the year to the present it has got a big difference. In this manner the ongoing year is prosperous.

The price has fallen unexpected from the market of $9500 to the present price close to $7000. This can be the impact of the speculations that were taking place across associated with the halving. However at any point the cryptocurrency won't go anywhere for any reason.

Right now if you are willing to invest and take risks you should HODL and wait for thhttps://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5192231.220e next halving (https://www.bitcoinblockhalf.com/).

The history repeats itself, this is a good time to invest as price got even lower than previous months value.
If you are willing to take your changes on this moment don't wait any further (except few days as i believe it will still drop a bit more) and invest / buy.

After the halving i'm positive sure that price will get bigger as previous halving.

That means if bitcoin grows all other cryptocurrencies will surely grow as well as people tend to swap between btc and other alt coins to get some profit during price fluctuations.

That's not possible, especially now that there's a lot of investors proven that it is worth to invest in Bitcoin rather than in altcoins which dumps all the time and hard to rise again, but in Bitcoin, it can survive all the time as this has been the king of crypto, and for a decade of its existence, it is worth it and many investors has proven it and has earned a lot. So, the demand really increases rapidly.

There is nothing to be scared looking at the market, the price went down in the past few days as it was looking for a direction and it was unable to push further and the next solution is to test the support level and the support level was weak and so we saw the market going down by a big margin and if you are smart enough and waiting for an opportunity to invest then this is the right moment to invest and there is nothing much to be scared if you still believe that the market would go higher.

Maybe possible with bitcoin price still down and make investor left with bitcoin, without investor bitcoin is nothing and gone soon. How to make investor keep stay with bitcoin by have higher price of bitcoin and altcoin, with always down or lower price not  one investor keep waiting for bitcoin back to higher price, they trust with bitcoin is nothing to invest without get much profit.

In fact, in the above words there is a certain amount of truth, since only a small part of the cryptocurrency has real prospects in the future.  The fact is that in my opinion only those cryptocurrencies that really represent a certain product and will actually be used by society in practice have every chance for a promising future.  Today, in the cryptocurrency market, a lot of coins are traded only thanks to speculators, while not having a certain value.  I believe that this situation will change in the near future.

Still we still cannot predict the future and to be honest its look bad for bitcoin cause the price look like has being continue to go down and down. Investors scared to get in cryptos at the moments and it will be continue like this until next year.. Maybe.. Who knew.
There is nothing to be scared looking at the market, the price went down in the past few days as it was looking for a direction and it was unable to push further and the next solution is to test the support level and the support level was weak and so we saw the market going down by a big margin and if you are smart enough and waiting for an opportunity to invest then this is the right moment to invest and there is nothing much to be scared if you still believe that the market would go higher.
indeed it is expected that when prices have touched the support level a price reflection occurs. so there's no need to panic excessively because I'm sure at this moment it only takes time for the price to improve again

Maybe in your thought this year isn't that prosperous, but I personally felt this year to be more pleasant. In simple the growth in the market and the price compared to the starting months of the year to the present it has got a big difference. In this manner the ongoing year is prosperous.
I felt  little lame this year simply because our beloved btc still not reach its previous ATH or much better if it exceeds :(. Am I the only one feeling upset because of that? I don't think so, I knew that many of us here are hodlers who are only depending on big events like this. But in all fairness, I can still see silver linings. Imagine, this year got less drama. The market has a stable price though its lower than last 2017 but at least we are no longer experiencing a roller coaster type of market because that's very stressful to be honest :D.

Why do you think so? Cryptocurrencies are quite viable to be disappeared all of a sudden. Cryptocurrencies are posh for various utilizations. I often hear from people something like "I was stupid by payng big fees. I never used to use cryptocurrencies. Why?". In fact, it happens that in some cases using cryptocurrencies is the most perfect decision, I even would say the poshest. For some business activities it is vitally to decrease expenditures as much as it possible to survive and using cryptocurrencies affords to achieve that.

same here  .  im also hopping that it will not gone  but i have a strong sense that crypto will not be gone because i have observed that its value will always recover no matter how hard it dumps  .  also i have observed that many coins are still being created constantly and along with that many people , merchant , companies , businesses , etc whatever you call it are now getting involved  on the cryptos  .

so why would we say that it will be gone soon ? we can instead say that it will become more dominating and growing in the future  .

I believe in crypto should invest mostly "pro" investors. That's how we can make this market less volatile and stop the "scam trend".

Cryptocurrency can best be described as having some major shaping and getting ready for major adoption. Cryptocurrency has survived early major attacks from the enemies of decentralization. What I can say is that: we have crossed the worst moment in cryptocurrency, nations are now considering issuing their own digital coin however, this will be a stable coin.

In my opinion the crypto currency will not gone at all, no. At least not all the coins from the huge existing list. Lots of people became more selective while choosing the project or coin where to invest. And of course nowadays BTC is the best variant, everyone understands this. While in the last year were lots of not clear projects, nowadays there are companies that try to make some real products and to implement the blockchain in real working systems in order to extinguish the competitors. But such companies are not so enormous. So I do not think that crypto will disappear.

I do not see a drop in demand. On the contrary, Bitcoin is increasing its dominance and is becoming more and more popular. Bitcoin, on the contrary, is strengthening its position, so HODL and look for new investment opportunities

Maybe keep go on for bitcoin exist if price increase to higher price, but when bitcoin and altcoin have lower price who want to trust and keep investing with crypto assets, any one want to get lost with bitcoin or altcoin? I think no one want to participated if bitcoin look not increase to higher price, better when you got profit with your altcoin assets sell it and re investing again after altcoin have lower price.

First and foremost, you should understand that in the world of investment it is always better that you understand the purpose of whatever you are investing in and its profit margin.  You should personally spend time to analyze the crypto market rather than relying on what people share and say. it better to invest in what you have enough knowledge about rather than following what people think is best to invest in.  To find out whether you should in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, you should spend time analyzing the entire crypto market.

Do not just invest because of sentiments, you should invest if you fully understand how it works and its potential in the market. Most of people doesn't understand what they are doing and it causes them huge losses. You should know what cryptocurrencies that you are buying in order for you to make profit. Knowledge is important and it can help you to protect your capital. Allocate your time in studying what investment that you will do and you should also consider the possibilities that may occur for you to create a plan.

There is no reason for cryptocurrencies to go away from usage anytime. As days pass the usage of cryptocurrency on different functional platforms have been increasing with time. From the beginning to the present what we've experienced in terms of user community is much high with time. Based on the fact, without doubt cryptocurrency growth will progress and there is no way to go out of usage.

As of the moment, we can't see any negative reason for it to be gone in this current world although we cannot see and predict the future and we don't know what will happen in the coming days and months, still cryptocurrency is very young to tell that it will be vanished, when in fact we can see a clear and brighter picture of it in the future.

It wouldn't just continue existing due to its price but also consider the fact that we need adoption from it. These altcoins popping out from their ICOs/IEOs pretty much depends sometimes in Bitcoin in price and that becomes like a mark that any cryptos would continue to exist even if some projects that turned up to be a scam hurts it.

this.

people are too lazy and naive reading and level up their knowledge.
those people who involved in bitcoin these days seems understand nothing but expecting to get rich in no time. that is why when they faced a situation like we are facing right now where the market under pressure to go low everyday.
that time people making a lot of excuses and revealing doubts also queastioning something like this.

cryptocurrency space is more than just a currency , it has been developed to something that will be utilitized in the future, used by modern people to make things simplier and break what we called as a broken system currently.

Well, apart from that, investing or not, it depends on the needs of each person who uses bitcoin, or altcoin. some people have come out of it, and some have just enjoyed this technology. to be honest, I think that bitcoin and altcoin are still very worth. it all depends on needs. I'm sure crypto growth will get better, and more needed. besides, if you really pay attention to developments, the price of bitcoin goes up from $ 3000 at the beginning of the year, to the current $ 7000 price (although it has been declining since June)
