Title: What scares you the most?
Post by: btc_love on October 31, 2019, 03:59:27 PM
This fun picture got me thinking. https://imgur.com/2GwIL5Y

What are your biggest fear in crypto?
As for me, it's losing my private keys by accident. I know that the risk is minimal, but the thought of it makes me anxious from time to time. Also, I'm afraid that BTC dumps during the transaction.

Waking up one morning and knowing that the whole cryptocurrency market went down to nothing?
Or maybe finding out that all your crypto (or your private keys) was stolen or lost somehow?

By the way, Happy Halloween!

maybe that is because you have invested more money that you can afford to lose. psychologically speaking people are more scared when they are taking bigger risks. that is why when it comes to investment they always say "invest what you can afford to lose".
so maybe it is time for you to rethink the amount you have put in.

Scariest? Hmm, I already experienced losing thousands of dollars in a day many times. Those shitcoins are foking scary as hell. I get used to it later on. This year I became more careful. My altcoins are in the top list because I don't want to become a victim of pump and dump once again. 2018 was a traumatic experience for me in financial terms.

As a person who has lost a private key before (for a wallet that had a considerable) amount of Bitcoin in it, the only fear I have left right now is being involved in a pump & dump action. It's something really annoying and tough to get out of. I would not like to see anything like what happened to EOS and Bitcoin Cash back in the days.

Do not be surprised to lose money on altcoin because it is indeed useless shitcoin, 2018 is a matter that frightens for altcoin holders because a large disposal occurs so that thousands of dollars are invested will be lost and will only be worth a little.

Once upon a time a boy didn't covered his trades and lost all his crypto holding to the Bitmex liquidation engine haha
What scares me the most is governments making a common front in banning Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. That would slow down the BTC price growth, but it will still continue to exist in the "underworld" of our society. However by the nature of the technology Bitcoin cannot be literally banned. I'm sure that people would still use and find ways to do so, but the adoption rate would be very low but it would crawl until governments will be forced to lift the ban. That's my view on my fear, so it is not really a fear but a wish that doesn't happen.

My biggest fear is a potential flippening where ETH or something else becomes the most valuable crypto and I've hodled BTC too long.  Like most people I've made the mistake of hodling things too long in the past, most of what I hodl is BTC but I don't want to be on the wrong side if ETH overtakes it, I'd like to have a crystal ball that tells me when to bail out long before that happens if it happens.  The probability of ETH taking over seems good considering the potential of DeFi and all the other use cases it has.

The third world war and the destruction of life as we know it. Well it might not be happening like we envision it but once it happens, even bitcoin will cease to exist if the mad lads of that holds the world’s sickest keys and switches were to turn it on. I’m fine with losing my coins in the stupidest manner, but I’ll never be okay knowing that every other coin with mine, together with countless of lives are lost forever.

With the plethora of artificially-made economic problems and the battle for economic supremacy, it’s without a doubt that similar events of the Cold War is to happen. And if that escalates, well, not only bitcoin will be gone forever but also us, potentially.

Happy Halloween, brother.

One would think my biggest fear would be bitcoin dropping to zero, but it isn't.  What I fear is that the U.S. gov't is going to one day decide to regulate crypto such that its citizens are not allowed to own it.  It's a real fear, but it isn't one that keeps me awake at night.  There have yet to be many federal laws passed restricting bitcoin ownership, if any.  If there are any laws I am not aware of them.  State laws do exist, I think and those can be just as bad if not challenged in court.

As an example, I can't use binance anymore because they don't offer service to residents of the state I live in.  Something must have changed, and it does frighten me a little.  I can't imagine not being able to use *any* exchanges, and it almost seems like this is the start of that.  I'm keeping both fingers crossed that it doesn't become a reality.

The government can banned bitcoin. But this is all they can do with the word!

And this is a nice picture where they have banned bitcoin.

So don't be afraid. Because they banned bitcoin would only result in a better understanding of it, and you're right "they will also lift the ban because they will see the good things it can do to our economy.

There's definitely some truth to this, but it completely depends. I'll admit, I'm sliiiightly over-invested in BTC(I think I'm a bit too bullish at times). But even if I weren't over-invested and even if my finances won't be affected negatively a slight bit if I lose my BTC, it's still going to suck losing my holdings on a project that I'm very very passionate in.

But anyway, to answer OP's question, I'll answer the same. Losing my keys, or accidentally leaking my keys.

It's actually not the ban itself that most people are scared of. They're mostly scared of the highly probable price crash after a bitcoin ban.

That's a good thematic topic considering Halloween! I am not afraid of losing access to my wallet, because I know how unlikely that is, and I prevent myself from losing it by choosing Blockchain.com with 2FA. As for the market going down to nothing - well, it would be really sad but also very unlikely. And we've seen major sudden drops already, so it won't be something totally new. Moreover, no matter how low Bitcoin falls, there's always hope of recovery. Now, the last thing is something that I fear the most. Every time I open my wallet, I sort of expect to see zero balance, I have this anxious anticipation as the page is loading. But then I luckily calm down seeing that everything is where I left it, so to speak.
Since it's Halloween, let me tell you a scary story that really happened, and I was a part of it. So I am sitting at my home and doing whatever I needed to do. It was in the morning, I've just recently had breakfast, and it's a weekend, so I don't have to go anywhere. Suddenly, I receive a call from a friend of mine. He asks me to come over as soon as I can (I live nearby) because his email that's linked directly to Bitcointalk and Blockchain is hacked, and he's having trouble accessing his Bitcointalk account and very afraid to open the wallet where he basically has all of his savings. I come over, we think what sort of stuff the hacker already has access to and what can be done about it. We figure out that it was probably hacked automatically, and the hacker has not seen the results of the program's work yet, so there's time to save stuff, but we gotta do it fast. We start by changing the email to which the Bitcointalk account was attached, then we deleted the data which was in the messages on the hacked email, changed the password using a back-up email, and made superhard password to every account. Everything ended well, he did not lose anything. But at the beginning, it felt like this was the time to say goodbye to Bitcointalk legendary account as well as potentially to the savings. When I came home, I changed all of the passwords to my emails and accounts which were weak to stronger ones.

What scares me the most is losing what I have worked hard. I think we all do... It includes different possibilities on how I might lose my coins. Through hackers, or accidentally sending it on another address, government issues with crypto and etc. Anything related to crypto that can affect our funds negatively.
Although anything can happen and we could lose out hard-earned assets one day, and that's what I'm afraid the most. But rather than letting myself get eaten by this fear, I'm using it to be more careful just to avoid losing coins as much as I can.

Losing a big chunk of my investment is one thing I have experienced, it's a very painful experience I wouldn't want to see again. It has become my biggest fear. Then followed by loss of wallet private keys, the previous day I mistake one wallet for another and was using the wrong keys thinking it was right, I almost ran mad till I realized I mistake the keys.

I am very much afraid of waking up one morning and seeing two things and the first one is the value of Bitcoins spiraling down so that it becomes very worthless and secondly someone getting access to my account and stealing all my money. The second scenario can really happen and it scares me.

Yup at least you are prepared on what happen next because if you didn't know what happen, you will be scared.  But sometimes by just thinking the money that is okay to lose you didn't think your goal.

To save other's time clicking the image link (don't want to quote it to save space lol), the quote is:

"Once upon a time, a boy lost the private keys to a wallet that had BTC100"

This is really a "scary moment" but out of our own fault. No one to blame but the user itself. I can't imagine how could that happen since even at BTC1, the majority are overreacting about what security should be done to protect their respective wallets. Well, unless it's stolen by force at any means.

I'm more concern about crypto in general, the market, every country's approach, government action, etc. Market seeing down or a long-period of bear market is fine, bitcoin always have a retracement and can bounce back anytime. Just don't want to see bitcoin will be rejected by most of the countries and eventually seeing it slowly fades as time passes by.

hacked email is the most scary than anything.

i felt it myself when i received an email that someone tried recovered my password. this is scary when this email is tied to your trading accounts where you kept trading there and most of your btc is right there and they can do it withdraw to their wallet and all are gone. i don't have 100BTC in those accounts though.

Happy Halloween.

It might be the worst that can happen to any bitcoin holder, losing your private keys. I know there are lots of bitcoins already lost because of misplaced hardware that contains bitcoin and lost private keys. People who lost them are pretty much regretting it. It is not a joke, it is a reality.

I have already backed up my private keys, so I know losing it will not be a problem for me. My greatest fear is waking up one day and bitcoin is already banned in my country. That will make me choose, my country or my bitcoin.

this is what scares me the most "Waking up one morning and knowing that the whole cryptocurrency market went down to nothing?" when I was just starting using cryptocurrency I
keep having this kind of thoughts and would always check the bitcoin's price every day even though I don't have much BTC in my wallet. although the fear has subsided I still sometimes worry
about the price of bitcoin especially when the price suddenly falls down(i.e. the sudden fall this oct.23).

I agree. Even if they don't do anything malicious with it a hacked email means that you need to abandon all the accounts registered with it and preferably set them up again. This means moving all the money, redirecting all messages, making sure nobody sends anything onto the hacked email.
A hacker will know what accounts you have what services you use, what things you buy and in which stores, your wallet addresses because confirmations often contain personal details IPs you used to log in and other things. A hacked email is one big mess.

If you are able to safe guard your social media and mail passwords then it is not a big deal to safe guard your bitcoin wallet password as you do not need to safe guard your entire private key all the time if you are using the right wallets that are available including hardware wallets.

If you think that a billion dollar market will vanish just like that then you have some serious problem with logic  :P. I am not talking about the alt coin market but there is no way that bitcoin market will vanish just like that.

the thing that I am most afraid of is when the price of bitcoin is falling because at that time all coins will follow the decline in bitcoin and what happens is a loss in investment as I experienced at the end of year 2018

I guess almost all of us fear it especially if we have huge amount that was stored in that wallet then we just forgot or lost the private keys and we have no other ways to recover our wallet.

I also fear that all the governments will banned crypto currencies and they will strictly implement it then there will be a fine in using it as it is the only way to completely banned the crypto currencies.

Probably leaked data. With stuff like money or wallets it's mostly just money which can be recovered but since I use a ledger it's not much of an issue for me anyway.

Leaked emails/personal data would be horrible, that means your entire file is just on the internet floating around and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. The thought of that is just scary, isn't it? Especially when you factor in how many people there are.

Handling the seed words is important, but can be planned in advance. Keep the seed words in two separate but secure physical places. You could be very smart hiding them in plain sight, perhaps marking words in a book...

As for the market fluctuation, there is nothing to worry about, at least not with bitcoin. Just wait it out, as long as it takes. Many altcoins may never recover though.

For me the scariest thing in cryptocurrency is when I trade on an exchange and then make a profit, after that I tried to withdraw
profit from the trading results and what happened was I could not withdraw my money from the exchanges. This really scary to me,
because my capital and the results of my efforts I can not enjoy it. This is truly a disaster, really scary to me.

Losing private key is my worst nightmare since the day I lost my private key for blockchain wallet and also forgot the password for it and ended up losing a good amount of bitcoin, yes market dump is always pain in wrong place and I fear about my account being hacked than the market dump as I am really concerned especially about my Binance account.

I feel you, after working and effectively execute your trading position then afterwards when you tried to withdraw your money exchange will ask for many things, freezing your money and won't allow you to move anything. That's scary seeing the amount of your efforts and not letting you do anything. Double black eye to your minds regretting to why using the scam exchange.

You could mitigate that fear by keeping multiple back-ups of your keys in different locations. If one of my back-ups gets corrupted or physically destroyed, it's no big deal.

Sometimes I worry that there could be a vulnerability in my wallet software, and that black hats will find it before white hats. Fingers crossed...

My biggest fear in crypto happen about a month ago when i got hacked which led to the loss over a $1K worth of BTC. i don't know this hacker was able to launch this attack successfully and steal my bitcoins but my advice is stay off free download websites like torrentz.2eu

In my opinion, if you lose your private key, then this is the end of your career as a trader ahahah
^ Due to carelessness people got stolen or losing their private key. It's our big responsibility shoulder on taking care of our valuable stuff that has importance to us and not gets lost. The most part that I afraid when someday cryptocurrency was losing value in the market and it was forbidden in all countries and it has been implemented by their jurisdiction. But I know that is impossible to happen and I am comfortable that someday Bitcoin will lead among all currency or become number one. Nevertheless, those people who had negative faith in crypto will remain doubtful.

Losing your private key is really a scary thing. For me, what scares me most is waking up in the morning discovering that crypto is already gone and can 't access anymore the bitcointalk forum without any prior notice. Things like this will really make me weak and become hopeless. I have used to make an income from crypto and suddenly all is gone already. I'm afraid if it will happen soon.

I'm not scared because I don't have any BTCs. Lol
You lost your private key with 100 BTC on it is your worst nightmare. I don't know if you'll fall asleep at night thinking you lost a million dollars. That's the risks of having private key alone. There's a lot way to keep your funds. Use it as much as possible. We have web wallets, hardware wallets, keyword etc.

Only one word: hacker.
That's what I fear the most. No matter how good I apply security, my wallet can be hacked. Be careful, they always find loopholes in weakness. Losing because of being stolen is more painful than losing due to misses analysis. Hopefully, this bad experience does not happen again and does not happen to you all.

Well, the topic that suits Halloween very well. Many scary "fears" haunt.

Aside from affecting my personal interests such as losing private keys, wrong sending etc. What I feared the most is when the time comes that transaction fees grows bigger and bigger until it almost break even the amount of money you'll send. I'm not an expert when it comes to these things but is it really possible? ;D

For me, maybe the scariest thing is when all countries in the world agree to ban Bitcoin and all crypto coins. Then, all coins will be useless and no hope for a crypto future. But I believe it won't happen since many countries have proven already that Bitcoin and altcoins are quite helpful and useful to improve the economic sector, at least creating jobs for many people.

It has a positive and negative market appreciation. People considering that it was helpful but sadly the government considers this a threat to the economic system which I supposed to think that they are right also since knowing the fact that some of us use this for money laundering, frauds, and illegal activities. We can't just put the blame on the government of banning crypto because they have also the reason why they take action of it and I believe that they also understand the situation.

Do not be surprised to lose money on altcoin because it is indeed useless shitcoin, 2018 is a matter that frightens for altcoin holders because a large disposal occurs so that thousands of dollars are invested will be lost and will only be worth a little.

The same situation i felt before but now i am feeling very positive and bullish that the market will recover and thinking my portfolio will start to get back its value. And it is really scary to invest and buy in dip because you don't if it will go much more dip.

And that's why we need to start learning from our mistake and time to move on and patience is really the key.

Fear of missing my private keys also
Fear of type another adress or make some minor mistake and sen BTC to another wallet
Fear of BTC dump to zero in a short time

For me, the scariest is losing my private keys because I have invested may savings to bitcoin and if my keys were stolen then I don’t know what I be like because that means I also lost my life saving. Bitcoin price going down not much because I know there’s no other way but to go up, bitcoin will always find it’s way to the up or to go up it’s just a matter of time.

Actually its more like, tomorrow you try to login but the exchange is no more. Yes it has happened before, a few times. Not in your wallet, not in your control. This is the dilemma of the trader, they have to trust their exchange, but the risk is even higher than just doing wrong moves. In some countries people are used to State protection, but that is not always the case with cryptocurrency.

Don't invest what you cannot afford to lose...

This is the scariest that I didn't want to happen.Crypto is the great help to our lives. Bitcoin is the first digital currency which is easiest to use. Lets spread how good Bitcoin. So the goverment aware that this is everyone's needed

That's why it is essential to always keep a backup of all the wallet information that we have, it doesn't necessarily mean that it should be electronically backed up, some times the most secured way is to create a hard copy of the information and keep it in our vault if we have, or in a place where we know it is really safe.

By the way, I think the person who buys pizza for 10,000BTC even is scarier than this.

Everything need a proccess, bitcoin and cryptocurrency as whole have a value it just because a proccess. Do you remember when China was banned bitcoin, altcoin even they were thinking that blockchain is nothing a few years ago? But now did you got an information that the Chinese government will implement the blockchain technology on their country.

What it does mean? It is proccess thing. Bitcoin will going to zero (it is possible) but it needs a proccess. You will never wake up by looking at the condition of the price of bitcoin being zero, it is not impossible. You will get information first and you will find the truth and yeah you will set it if you have bitcoin.

However, this situation is far to happen since bitcoin and cryptocurrency as whole is being used by many people on this world.

There are two things im really afraid of, losing my private keys and finding out someone stole my money.

When it comes to bitcoin price, im aware of the risk involved after I decided to invest in crypto thus im prepared whatever the outcome of my investment. So if ever btc lose its value I can comprehend since btc is high volatile.

The thing that scares me most is to wake up one and day exchanges do not accept BTC conversion to fiat and merchants in the whole word do not want BTC as mode of payment in their shop.  I can bare with private key losses because I do not hold that much of BTC but waking up one day knowing that I cannot convert or use it to buy stuff and pay my bill.

I am not afraid at all, I think every investment and trading is involved in some sort of risk so it's a natural process that cryptocurrency and Bitcoin contain have some. but the most concerning issue for me is the market volatility, It's really alarming for me because the price of cryptocurrency doesn't have any positive movement, it's totally dependent on the price of Bitcoin, still, Bitcoin is the highest and largest coin in every aspect, so cryptocurrency requires a move to push Bitcoin aside, but it's not an easy way for doing this, so cryptocurrency needs a lot of time to make anything different thing.

The most thing that I am afraid of is when I see all of my bitcoin and altcoin is at the downtrend because, at that moment, I cannot see a chance to get a profit. I don't use big money to invest in crypto, but I am worried to see the bad thing happen, and I think that it is reasonable to be afraid if we are in those situations because some of us are not ready to see that.

Even though I don't use big money to invest, still, I need to hold my emotion and not to panic if the market fell because I know that the market will always fluctuate and will like that from time to time. I need to realize that it will be my risk, and I should accept the risk of investing in cryptocurrency.

Losing private key is not a scariest thing for me because it is preventable therefore as long as you make them safe from being stolen and keep them safe then there will be no problem. What makes me scared if i lost my investments again like in 2017 in which i invested big but lost everything because i missed the opportunity to sell high when the price is sky rocketing. Hopefully it will never again in this very unpredictable market.

Like all of your hard work, time and effort are wasted for nothing. If that happens to me, I don't know what will happen next because I usually panic over things that is why I tend to do some research before engaging with different people because you can't easily tell their true intentions. If you have experienced it then let it be the reason why you should be careful next time, turn it into a lesson so you can avoid doing the same mistake.

what scared me the most was when the coin I selected was dumped and couldn't pump anymore. I lost quite a lot earlier this year because I chose the wrong coin. from this experience now I prefer to choose the top 20 coins because it is guaranteed safe and impossible to crash because it has long survived in the crypto market and has a large trading volume.
sometimes I am also afraid of losing a private key like you but then feel calmer when copying on a piece of paper and keep it in a safe place. so if one day my computer has a problem I can rely on the paper.

Biggest fear on crypto and any online stuff we do is hacking. Hacking is preventable but may still happen even though you protect and care for your stuffs online. The internet is vulnerable to this kind of things so maybe thats my number one fear. Second is the risk of bitcoin network collapsing, a big catasthrope that lets say somewhat possible to happen in no time.

In my own personal opinion, my biggest fear in cryptocurrency is when bitcoin and other altcoins that i hold will lose it's value because all of my hardwork and money will disappear in an instant. Honestly, hacking could easily be prevented by everyone, as long you stay invisible or hidden to everyone that you avoid things that can lead you to hacking, that is why i don't fear hacking.

Lesson learned bro. Just save your private key always in online because at least it won't be gone unless there's a hacker who want to get your private key.

An individual fear is always inside of every one of us. Bitcoin is a currency that cannot lose its value any time, it is valuable to every users and investor. It will only lose its value once it is completely forgotten which is impossible.

It already happened. Lost everything. Mostly because what I had was in alts and not in BTC, and you guys all know what happened the whole time from last year. I had 6 digits, then became 5 digits, then 4 digits ...

As for wallets, you should never delete them. They are so small you can at least archive them, back them up, and put multiple copies somewhere, at least in your own home. If the coin itself dies, there's not much you can do anyway, but at least you saved the wallet and private keys.

I got almost a billion stack coins mined years back. I haven't seen a peer in 3 or 4 years; I think it died. HODL to the death.

We know the risk in crypto and it for sure we know this before we are about to enter here. If we are worried about an unexpected drop in price, it simply means that we don't have a future in crypto. This is to know that only risk-takers will survive and the others don't. If we can carry out these worries and market emotions, it has nothing to be on the dark side but rather to see us in the light(positive side).

This morning I found out that Bitmex was hacked. And i not that it positively affected my level of anxiety in general...

I'm afraid if this could lead to another market drama and even create dump again just like it happen to Binance.

The biggest fear for me in Crypto is also loosing my private keys and getting hacked. I have already suffered from this kind of incidence once when I forgot the keys of one of my wallets and accidentally deleted that wallet and after a few days I got my bounty payment in that wallet but was horrified after realizing that I deleted that wallet.

We have the same fear and experience, especially in losing private keys. I lose my private keys once and can't log in to that account. I think its almost 500$ at this price rate. So, now I always keep my private keys and give some copy to someone that I genuinely trust. I’m grateful that I don't have any experience of hacking and hoping that it will never happen. :)

What I was afraid of happening with my bitcoins was falling in price due to bad news as my country banned it. I know you disagree with putting our hard earned money here but this is what I did. I risk my money for bitcoin invesment because I believe its price will rise and I will be just like the early adopters of bitcoin who are now rich.

The biggest fear is buying a shitty altcoin that keeps dumping like a dead team, nothing scare me more than that as for private keys I have them saved in my room and I have other means to access my wallet apart from keys.

What I am scared of these following days is that bitcoin will fall under $5000 or worst. But I know it wasn't possible now due to strong market and I believed that adoption is potential to go further, as many people we're having confidence to own bitcoin as their reliable asset. That conviction had given me courage to be neutralized, even though I've been through anxieties several days ago.

I am a btc holder for a quite some time now and I only use one device for my btc wallet. And what scares me the most is if I lose access to my wallet and can't lose all my btc stored there. Much worst is to lost my phone. I can't imagine that to happen.

Given the price drops scared me a bit but that's a natural scenario of crypto market. A margin trader like me used to manage those worst market ways.

Probably being hacked or catching a keylogger trojan that or some other thing that will allow someone to take control of my computer. This would be much worse than simply losing money i have on an exchange because in time a hacker would gain access to all my personal information bank accounts contacts, all email addresses, everything.

At this point losing your presence in the Internet is worse than losing a job.

What are your biggest fear in crypto?
That the bug known as Proof of Work goes unsolved and my living room becomes part of the Atlantic Ocean.

Bitcoin might provide humanity with a better form of money. But is it really worth wrecking our planet in the process?  :'(

Gold mining/recycling, coin minting, banking, circulation of paper currency -- these entail massive energy costs, far larger than Bitcoin. Securing money is unfortunately an expensive and resource intensive process.

Obviously, the real problem is that humans are still using money. :)

Me too, this is one of the nightmare that has happen to me, yes it happen already to me, ive lost some of my coin because a hacker decrypt my password, it happens few months ago. Since then I put a 2FA security to my account if that is an online wallet and in my hardware wallet I put a strong anti virus and anti malware for me to avoid being hack even in hardware.

I personally save in several places for private keys. My fear in crypto is not losing my crypto assets or the price of being zero (0). but I am afraid I did not have crypto assets when crypto started to the moon. so I could not party with the others, who had been prepared long ago. I am not worried if the market becomes 0, because 99% is not possible for 1 night. except the internet is dead. My second fear was that when I crashed and was in a coma or died (hopefully not) it did not tell the private key and how to open my assets to the family. so I taught my family.

in my opinion there are some fears that are usually felt by crypto holders.
1. some of us would be afraid if we lose our private key or forget the password.
2. afraid that the coins we choose are not potential coins.
3. afraid when bitcoin continues to decline and can not rise again.
if I'm afraid that if my country suddenly bans cryptocurrency and in the end we can't access our portfolio. but I hope that all those bad things never happen.

My biggest fear in crypto is lossing all of my holdings or the dumping of the price of my both bitcoins and altcoins because it will result for me to a big losses that's why I am afraid of this kind of happenings if it's come. One thing I am afraid for, is the system down of the crypto community as well as the whole blockchain technology because if this happens then probably it will be a hard time for us and a hard lost.

You mean your wallet, right? Not your portfolio.
__________
What scares me most is when I bought tokens that isn't on the dump level like it keeps on dumping every time I check it, feels like I'm totally rekt.
And also, when my funds are majority in altcoins and you see bitcoin is starting a ride. It sweat out my nerves.

This is something not to be afraid of, first of, you better secure and have more than one copy of your private keys.

2. afraid that the coins we choose are not potential coins.
Doing research won't give you this kind of mindset. You should know to yourself what coin is good to invest.
3. afraid when bitcoin continues to decline and can not rise again.
If you know that cryptocurrency is volatile, you should know that the decline in price of bitcoin is normal, volatility drives its price to become unstable.

I think that crypto users are usually afraid to lose their coins by cyber attack or losing private keys and the second fear is huge price dump.
From the first fear we can protect ourselves with different security measures, at least when our wallets are in question and the solution for the second is to diversify investments.

We may afraid to lose our money by way of investing and when someone hacked your email or your coins/tokens , but we still have all the chance to earn it, but if the crypto industry will be gone, that is the worst one, as we can no longer have the chance to earn thru it. We can never earn what we have lost. It will be a greatest failure for all people.

investors and other traders do have fears about losing their assets when stored in hacked wallets but that is what is called risk because storing their assets does not have high security so as to make assets disappear like that, for solutions like this it must strengthen security because if the wallet is lost it will not be able to reverse.

If this will happen to me, I will blame myself, but only for a short period of time. Since the reason why it became hacked is not 100 percent caused by the platform, but by the human error. I believe that we do really commit mistakes. And what is the scariest part about it is not being hacked but not learning a lesson from the passed that we already been experience. Let me tell you what scares me the most. Around a couple of years ago Indian government decided to detach banks from having any contact with Cryptocurrencies exchanges. That news gave signs that soon India could possibly ban Cryptocurrencies. This still is my biggest fear. Some people would say that you don't need to worry because btc is still unstoppable but being a law abiding citizen i really don't want to be involved in something expressly said illegal by our country. Moreover what would happen to my savings stored in crypto and how would i redeem them? I think this is a scary thing.

When you take risk beyond your limits you fear about it. There is nothing to fear when you're good with a job to meet your needs and make your living with happiness. If the holding is all that you have for your entire life then it is fearful. Such incidents same as that's been portrayed on the image won't happen often. If happens very rarely.

We all have different fears in crypto. Some are scared to be scammed and have all the money they worked hard for be stolen easily by someone. Some are scared to see the market going down continuously amidst hoping for a better value with their investment. Some are scared to take a risk and invest bigtime fearing that it may just lead to a massive loss. We should know how to handle our fears or else we wouldn't be able to make a change in our investments and tradings.

What scares me the most is that the market will die permanently, it is impossible to happen but we are all scared about that since we are earning here, I am thankful to know this forum because I am earning money using my own knowledge by joining some campaign or bounties in which I am promoting particular project I have joined in, wherein the payment depends on the rank, also by promoting the particular project I must obey the rules of the forum from avoiding being banned. Because if I am being banned I can't earn money anymore because I only have one and only account. I am also scared of project that is scamming, so to prevent that happening I am reading their whitepaper for me to have basic knowledge about their project, I am joining based on their platform and target if they can really reach their target or not.

What I fear the most here in crypro honestly is death. I am really scared of seeing all of my earnings go to nothing as I go to the deepest sleep a person can ever have. I don't want my hardwork and sleepless nights go to waste. I am also scared of seeing the value of the coin I am currently investing decrease even more, I just want a better profit and at the same time, secure my future. I hope none of these things would ever happen to me or else I would definitely become messed up.

maybe that is because you have invested more money that you can afford to lose. psychologically speaking people are more scared when they are taking bigger risks. that is why when it comes to investment they always say "invest what you can afford to lose".
so maybe it is time for you to rethink the amount you have put in.

Common mistakes that new people in cryptocurrency world is they are letting the good news too much in their head (getting too much excited) giving themselves false hope. Psychologically speaking also, this makes them too full of themselves, and the outcome of their actions (investing too much), then suddenly the joy that they've felt in the beginning turned into sorrow, because just like what you have said, they lose the money they can't afford to lose.

Theres nothing even more worst on losing up your coins specially if you do had millions of dollars inside it for sure you would commit suicide if those
amounts would be lost into thin air. This is why keeping our PK is always important, be careless then your coins is good as gone.

About sudden market plummets its price? Its hard to believe yet blockchain tech will surely be the next mainstream as years goes by.

Every one of us here are afraid of losing their private keys, especially if all your precious coins are on that private key, the market can crash down and go up but when you lose your private key you lose everything, so it's important that to not put all your coins in one wallet break it down, to at least 5 wallets and hid each one of them separated from each one, it's like not putting all your eggs in one basket.

Actually, I don't think of the negative things that could happen to my cryptocurrency involvement. Most of my fears are baseless and so I don't give much attention to it. That's all our biggest fear when cryptocurrency died, but, so far now, it is very impossible, so let us not think of this as it will just stress out ourselves, crypto will still be there and will continue to develop, we just need some patience in order for the adoption to be widely accepted.

For most traders, their fear is to get Rekt, when they forgot to do stop loss, for bounty hunters, to get scam, for most of us, we do have different fear, but life must goes on no matter what.

For most traders, their fear is to get Rekt, when they forgot to do stop loss, for bounty hunters, to get scam, for most of us, we do have different fear, but life must goes on no matter what.
When price drop make many investor afraid will their investment assets back to higher price or not, maybe you have the same situation with beginner with bitcoin and altcoin trader, very worried when looking coin invested have lower price. They will sell soon if do not have discussion in bitcoin investment forum and many investor keep waiting because have know with situation in investment of bitcoin and altcoin.

The fact that there are sock puppet armies of people whose goal is to spread FUD and manipulate the price of BTC to their advantage.

Really exploitative and not fair to the average person.

Thinking about the possibility that your funds were stolen is a real nightmare, of course for those of us who are very careful it is a very unlikely scenario, in my case I have taken multiple security measures and obviously I do not have "all the eggs in the same basket " :D :D

I think your fears are valid for all of us in this world of cryptocurrencies at some point that idea has crossed our minds, in addition to experiencing the freezing of funds in a centralized Exchange, both are horror movies.
and guess what? i did experienced both scary moment .

first i forgot where i put my paper wallet that contains private key , seeking it for over 6 months and get nothing , maybe you will conside 0.27 bitcoin as a small or average amount but for me who put $1900 in it feel like i have lost everything.
then i was cryptsy customer who put various altcoin in there but trade so rare , only checking them like once in 2 weeks or so i guess, everyone know where cryptsy is now yes they do exit scam , not much money left there luckily when the scam happens.

so i think i have been through both horror movies and learned a lot from that. i am now have nothing to scared about basically.

My biggest fear is that I wake up to find my wallets empty or the price collapse and there is anarchy all over with massive dumping and just chaos. I am also afraid that the government puts more restrictions on it. I know people will fight against that.

What are you talking about? If people are stupid enough to believe it that is their problem It actually makes the price more predictable.

It is frightening to see a chart that is dominated by red color, getting redder from day to day and the value of assets decreases. It was a truly frightening experience. It took quite a lot of time to restore my trading mentality.
Besides that, I'm also most afraid of hackers. The reason is clear, the assets we accumulate with hard work can just disappear even though we have provided double security.

If anyone fears the areas in crypto they have full control over such as their own security then they ain't doing it right. There are enough tools and enough info out there to make yourself impregnable. Keep working on your set up until the idea of fearing something going wrong feels silly.

I think my main worry would be the majority simply losing interest. You can overcome anything if the collective will is there. If it has tailed off and faded away then it's good night. Impossible to know what could cause that but sometimes it feels people are a little too comfortable with the assurance of its future.

Lost That worries me the most. Either because it was hacked, or because of an error in the analysis. Of course the most painful thing is losing it because it was hacked, it makes me very sad when I see the funds on my wall are transferred to another address that I don't know about. That's a real horror. I am not too worried about technical matters where what if this is prohibited, what if it loses sales value, because my focus is to do the maximum right now.

My biggest fear is of course when crypto will suddenly die. But I am not thinking so much of my fears. Actually, I don't think of the negative things that could happen to my cryptocurrency involvement. Most of my fears are baseless and so I don't give much attention to it. Crypto may die but there is no reason at all why it will, not tomorrow, not even in the next 5 to 10 years.

That's all our biggest fear when cryptocurrency died, but, so far now, it is very impossible, so let us not think of this as it will just stress out ourselves, crypto will still be there and will continue to develop, we just need some patience in order for the adoption to be widely accepted.

A price drop is not something to be feared anymore. When I was a beginner way back several years ago, I always feel fear when the prices are falling. I would immediately think that the market is dying. But I got used to the movements of the market. For as long as everything looks normal, a price drop is not to be feared but to be grabbed as an opportunity.

The way you put it, I don't think it is possible for anyone to wake up to see the price of Bitcoin drops to zero, that's not possible. Even if that's going to happen, it's not going to happen in a day, it's going to take a really long time for the price to drop to that rate. But I don't even wish for that to happen in anyway.

As for private keys, well, even if you lose the private keys, I don't really see how that's possible as long as you still have access to the wallet..

Well, you can move the coins to another wallet and create a new one. You will only be worried about most of these things when you're not using a good wallet or exchange. That's why you should look for a good wallet if you don't have one.

For me, banning and having a restriction about Bitcoin is the most I scared of. When all government were against all cryptocurrencies and will cause of dropping the price. Maybe if the bitcoin price will drop down and can no longer recover. I think that really scares me the most because I might lose a lot of money if that will happen. That is only my wild imagination and a negative one that we must forget. Let's think positive and don't even scare at all. Bitcoin now was in on mainstream and some establishments and companies were using it. As long as Bitcoin remains anonymously nothing will control.

The biggest thing that scares me about cryptos is that the possibility of losing or being stolen of my private key. Because there is nothing to do after these kind of events as I know.

Losing private keys is one of those things that is pretty scary to me. Other things like hacking an exchanger account or forgetting to press the stop loss button are the same thing scary to me lol. The most important thing to keep our data safe is to always be careful when logging in or storing private keys.

The biggest fear of me about crypto could be the possibility of increasing of hacking events. Security is the most important thing for cryptocurrencies. If their security system can be broken, it would be catastrophic for cryptos.

What scares me most is missing out on opportunities.

I was a reaaaalllly early adopter but never committed (admittedly, I wasn't convinced).

I don't want to make that mistake again. I'm impatient now but that's not fear-driven.

My greatest fear is hackers gaining access to wallet I am having fear over the growing sophistication of hackers on the daily basis, if big exchanges despite their huge financial resources that can get hacked then an ordinary crypto hodler would have to be extraordinarily careful. I am not bothered by the market going down having in the crypto system for some years now and its very obvious when the price dumps with respite to bitcoin its pumps again and my private keys are well written on a paper and kept in my cupboard.

Losing private key is you personal matter while crashing with the market is not in our hands to predict. It's very scary once you are in the investment side and after dealing with your research and you are expecting trends to favor you and what happened is the movements went to the other side and you are unprepared to cut out loses and everything went to a doomed putting you in the deepest negative outcome, that's more scary. Since you don't have any control of situational events inside this market.

As much as I'd like to say losing my private key or something of that sort,  what scares me the most would be waking up to see that Satoshi dumped his wallet! That's tantamount to killing the market. No matter how hard I try,  I just cant seem to shake off the thought of such a possibility.

Exchange hack or continuous maintenance of an exchange is one my scary thing. Imagine an exchange going on maintenance the moment you need funds urgently or when you just transfered some funds there.
hacked email is the most scary than anything.

i felt it myself when i received an email that someone tried recovered my password.

That's what I was also scared of before too. But you can't get hacked if you have a strong password and 2fa enabled on your email. Also try to have multiple email accounts and also have some security questions on them.

If you got hacked, then it is fine, life must go on, still you can still earn those stolen from you , still you can access crypto in different way, so it is still okay. What is scary is that each government in every country will decide to banned cryptocurrency and there is no way we can access it, if they banned it from google too, in that way, there is no chance for us to earn.

I would be afraid of myself to not make all the stupid mistakes over and over again that I have made so far as I want to take responsibility for my own actions or in many cases inactions. Once we all act more responsibly and don't play the blame game over and over, we can truly get the results we want and I can see that even in one month from my reaching the bottom again, I am seeing that discipline and hard work, especially in the beignnign phases and being true to our hearts, intuition and our goals, we can all achieve the success we so much desire. You need to have the tenacity of a lion though and the bravery to execute and see your plan through. We only should waver on our plan if we can improve upon it.

What are your biggest fear in crypto?

I have 2 main fears...

1.- Cryptos getting banned all around the world... Governments could easily block the ports that use cryptos and make from it something illegal with a lot of years in jail if someone uses them, that would be the end.

2.- Crytpos getting nuked by quantic computers... If the most powerfull quantum computer generate all posibles private keys, then he could transferr al the bitcoins in one single transaction.

Personally, I am not afraid of all these hacking and security challenge because that one can still be under control, all I just need is to secure my account carefully and ensure that I don’t let my password to be too loose for people to take advantage of it and hack into my wallet, while I also deal with hardware wallet alone, but what is of great concern to me or which I would say was initially of great concern to me was that cryptocurrency might be gone one day if there is no longer support for it again which I doubt to some extent.

Thee time that I had this fear was the time that many government was having issue with it, especially when it lacks the absolute support of some of these great countries like china and US, but now, we are beginning to have support from those countries which is seriously allaying my fear of cryptocurrency going into extinct.

I'm scared of hacking of a cryptocurrency exchange because most of the exchange hacking news crashes the crypto market. I'm not afraid of losing my bitcoin wallet private keys because I'm using blockchain.com wallet - it's an online bitcoin wallet that does not require private keys rather a password for login.

My biggest fear is to lose my coins, while I have taken every single step I could think to protect my coins the truth is there is not solution that will protect your coins at 100% and if I made a mistake in the process then my coins are easier to steal than what I thought, besides even if you can protect your coins against hackers that does not protect you from losing your coins in more traditional ways like someone stealing the computer where you had your wallet or maybe the hard drive where you had your coins malfunctions and you lose your coins as well.

My biggest fear is losing a big amount of money that I earn for and invest in bitcoin because it's hard to decide if you're going to take the risk especially when the money is big
