You are very correct about your claim on scam accusation board because it has a lot of information to protect any investor not newbie alone from getting ripped of their funds.

However some project that are not listed on this forum might not be mentioned on the board soonest, it is also advisable to do some personal research before investing into any project.

Great advise, there's a lot of scam accusations out their and as an investor you should know what projects are scams or potential scam.

Actually it's not hard to understand it as most of the DT members are even replying timely on the scam accusations as long as its honestly done and with supporting evidences.

And also, always check the profile of the OP if they have an ANN thread here because normally if they are scam, they will be tagged by DT members.

That is a good one. But we need to be careful about how we accuse projects of scam. I nearly fell for it when zeux was accused of scam only for them to fulfill their project and pay hunters well

Definitely, this is a good advise specially for newbies. Not just Scam Accusations (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0) board, but there are a lot of boards/topics around that you can read in this community.

So instead of just staying in bounty threads looking for bounties to join and participate, I would also advise to go and play around. This forum has a search function as well that you can take advantage of.

projects outside the forum will not be discussed much for sure, people who report certainly have expertise in research, from time to time they learn good research methods. if you want to be like them, you need to learn a lot of good research methods to find genuine projects or fraudulent projects

You are right the scam accusation board is the right place if you want to know some of the fraudulent project that listed on the thread, so that everyone is  aware of those shady projects that are still continue to do their ICO fundraising till today. i'm glad that Bitcointalk forum users are helping each other to eradicate fraud and scam in this forum.

True,  within the cryptocurrency space one needs to keep informed.  I never used to check for scam allegations before promoting a project, provided I have done my due diligence and I am convinced the project is solid.  I'll have to start checking. Thanks.

It's sort of helpless to make the bounty whores aware of things. They are the only noobs who fall for most of the ICO scams and others not getting paid for the bounties. Their intention to be on the forum is to earn money on the forum by simply acting like mules. A robot programmed in JavaScript will probably have more brains than they ever did. I wish they would use the forum more constructively.

This is one of my favorite section and this is where I gave a trust rating and merits to some members who are very active in that section, we owed a lot to people like Jollygood, Coolcryptovator who takes times and effort to expose these scam projects, I will not be surprised if they have many haters among scammers but we should support these guys, they makes thins easy for investors and bounty hunters.

Finally, someone point it out. It will save you a lot of time instead of asking whether one project was scam or naw or something. The thing is, we have almost everything you need to know in this forum. Some people are just too lazy too look around. And keep asking the same questions. We have lots of members who contributed to blow up a scams project or scammers. Thanks to them we get to avoid being scammed. I hope some bounty hunters will stop asking for which bounty to join or what.

I do agree.
Instead of looking for the information which is already in here.
Most users tend to wait and let someone spoonfeed them with information. Until they make it as a habit which is really nerve-wracking sometimes.
Being lazy won't get them to anywhere, they will get stuck being a lazy forever.

Now the problem here is feeling lazy, so we need a media to hold all the information about the scammer. Actually they are lazy to search because some threads are buried, so I just hope there will be a site that holds various kinds of scammer information. This has been applied by several people in my area, where when they type in a phone number, address, url, name, bank account number, information will appear whether the data was involved in a case or not.

There is also a lot of people who are have experience about projects and they already report it in that thread, by that you can see and avoid projects that are not legitimate so that would be great for you to be not a victim of bad projects and it really helps you to decide on what project or campaign you will promote and support.

It is absolutely true, at least you should investigate that section before creating new titles about any coin. After researching a few places and reaching no results, create the subject under this title. Also, simple research on google can easily provide the desired result and we would not be obliged to see the titles again.

Visiting scam accusation thread regularly on this forum is a very good idea. However, this does not help to avoid scam if you do not conduct your own research on projects. Perhaps people did not have time to create a topic about some project that turned out to be a scam.

The Scam Accusations sub-forum is indeed very useful. Many members of this forum are concerned and always share their suspicious findings. On the fair side, with the evidence presented, an allegedly false project can make a defence by giving real objections if the allegations are false. This makes everyone understand better. We just need more time to read, than to get stuck on a fake project, right?

Very helpful for beginners in order not to get stuck twists and in this vast cryptocurrency. A scammer thread or a scam project is important to always be cautious about projects that are now always emerging without the existence of benefits and innovations. Finding a good project today is very difficult to compare in the past year which is the hour of ICO and IEO that makes us profit faster.

A lot of information out there but somehow it was just ignored for they are more focus looking at those big rewards and possible doubling their profit. This is a reason why most new traders and investors fall into scam projects. We have awareness spread out already but can't think why they still fooled into this kind of promises. It is something they need to spend time to scam accusation board for them to avoid being a victim of scam projects.

Those projects can neither survive if we never support/invest them. We have to give recognition to some of our members here for their works and being a scam buster for they are helping out the market clean. In such a way, new investors are guided of what they are doing.

Scam accusation with tag is a bit relaxed on this forum, there was a time you just wake up to many negative tag and you wonder what u did, spam post even attract negative tag, if discovered. Any support for scam project on announcement thread could attract negative tag after such project had been discovered as a scam. There are more interest to research in those days than now that telegram is the safe haven for scam project. In some cases when the trend of scam discovery last for a long time more truths are eventually exposed, I think a lot of us know better that we had more scam projects then

Not just scam accusations ( though, it was great to read it for awareness) but also those threads that can be beneficial for us to improve ourself. This forum offers a lot of knowledge, techniques and useful informations that a newbie needs.

Come to think of it, if you are a newbie who are seeking to join or to invest in a particular projecr, yeah Scam Accusation Threads will help you to spot if it may be a reputable and legit project or not.

A lot of questionable projects and campaigns also have red trust or some sort of trust feedback on the account posting the ANN of the project or officially representing whatever project you're looking at too, though it's also true that you're able to just visit the Scam Accusations section outright too.

Unfortunately, the search function on this forum's not the greatest partially due to how old the forum software is, so it might be a better idea to perform a search on a search engine like Google or whatever you use, while specifying the site bitcointalk.org (site:bitcointalk.org for Google), and then the name of the project you're looking at and the word scam with or without quotation marks so you're able to find posts and threads from this forum about a project you're looking at with the word scam inside (example: site:bitcointalk.org (Project Name) "scam").

But this is no guarantee that you will get paid at the end. It is one thing for a project to be a scam but it is another for a project to end up not paying even if it is not a scam. Secondly, this is also not a guarantee that you will receive the amount that is worth all your efforts and number of days working. Even if the project is not a scam, it is still highly possible for it to just end like the rest, with the value of their tokens dumped to the bottom.

Any project that ends without paying those who advertised for them is a scam project, no matter how long it takes, because this ico projects take so long as the participants have to wait most times through pre ico, ico and even listing. This procedures can be so long, but at the end of it all, that which they promised to pay, must be given out, though it may be reduced due to unforeseen circumstances(which can be understood sometimes).

But those who put in time and effort to work for them, must be compensated, failure to do so, makes it a scam project(exit scam)

Fraudulent allegation threads help us find out fake and scam projects very easily without the need for deeper analysis, those who analyze the project already have experience in looking for any gaps in errors made by scam or fake projects. As a bounty hunter or investor, we can only support them and help them if we find a strange project and lead to a scam.

Definitely, it is not always about having a hard time to distinguish which project are real to not. Sometimes you have to explore other sections that provides information to such projects because there are always alot of persever persons out there revealing which projects are worth participating, and on the other hand projects that are scam. It is hard to rely onto websites or platforms that provides rating because some of those are just paid.

That could save up a lot of money for investors and also time and effort for the bounty hunters.

I guess you already know how to locate and prevent yourself from getting scammed. It is really recommended to read a lot in this forum especially when you're still a beginner and still want to learn more. You can really earn a lot of knowledge here in this forum. Why? It's because there's a lot of people here already that has been in crypto for so long and their experiences can be a lesson to everyone... People's opinion can be your basis but you will still have to think critically and decide on your own because no one is responsible here if you got scammed, it's just you.

Sure this board is helpful for identifying scam projects, but remember one thing, nothing in the world will replace your own investigation of each particular project. Do not trust strangers on the internet and spend some time.

I totally agree with what OP said that is why I often check the scam accusation section because it saves me time to detect those scam/fake projects once proven. So before you make your own research on a specific project, you may use the scam accusation section to see if the that project was mention and see if the accusation is legit.

yes, what the OP has presented is important for anyone and not only for beginners. that before investing in any project always research in advance about the clarity of the project, and with a thread in this forum about allegations of fraud is quite helpful and saves our time. I personally also always use that thread to detect fraudulent projects.

Although there are a lot of unnecessary topics lately, you can not find a better place than it to take advantage of. BTT is the best place to explore any project or sharing ideas with other members about any coin, in short, to find out more about the crypto sphere, also the best for finding scam projects. Find out the information you want by looking at the section you are interested in. Also search by clicking the Search on the left side of the Profile button above.

If a newbie don't know anything about of a certain coins that he's going to invest that's already a wrong move because first of all, never invest into something that you don't know. Always make some time to do your own research for a specific project or coins that you are going to invest. And most likely of the results that has some scam accusation will show all over the internet and especially on this forum.

You're right op newbies should know this, a simple reading on the said section can save anyone from ending up in scam projects. But sometimes users are lazy to conduct their own research before joining/investing in a project.

Everything we need to know is almost here in the forum but we have to do our part (not only newbies) to avoid the projects that is not worth for our time and effort.

There are several threads on this forum that contribute to human development, most especially educationally. Apart from checking the scam accusation section for those projects that have been reported to be scam, you can also from there learn his to identify scam projects, because some reveals the means through which that is done.

Doing a lot of research on different sites and discussing a matter on different forums will eventually return the best results. On forums, people hardly lie but websites can show a topic from any angle they like to by being paid. Today, the market is full of scams and it would be best for all the participants of digital coin market to share discussions with others. This way, they will come up with the right decision.

There are a lot of scam project currently present in the crypto space, it actually very sad to see a project you have spent your time and resources promoting all turn to a very big scam. Good thing i came across the above mentioned post where i get to see different projects that are listed as scam.  This has given me an opportunity to narrowed down my research before promoting any project.

I totally agree, if you are active in bounty campaign, this is a must place to visit, I'm surprise that even if there are bad reports about one ICO or project, they still prefer to promote, I'd like to think that they are part of the project or just ignorant and did not know that there's already a bad report, sometimes they are tagged for promoting a project with bad reports

Crypto space is full of scams and I think the reason for this is because this space is not regulated. Both hunters and investors are the ones being victims of scams projects. Investors lose their money in them why hunters waste their time in promoting them, so visiting this thread will benefit both investors and bounty hunters.

Yes. Communication, cooperation, and coordination are key on this forum. We all can take down the scammer only if we corporate to each other. If there's a good project we can do it together but if they want to fool us we can't beat them here.

There is no need to visit scam accusation, just see the profile's trust rating who created ANN or bounty thread because if a scam accusation was proved then he will get negative tag from multiple DT members.

But when we are not sure then we can see the discussion about few projects.

Same here, i did fall for zeux scam accusation and i immediately stop wearing their signature but later i heard its false accusation, make sure that scam accused projects are with proof or evidence of been a real scam

Visiting the scam accusation section is important, not all scammers are using the same account that was accused of promoting scam projects. Most of the time they are using a newly created account, how are you able to determine if the project you participated with is a scam if there is no trust review for the manager? You still need to visit that section to at least notify not only yourself but also other users who are part of a certain project.

While we have many dedicated members that use their time to bust as many scammers as possible it is impossible for them to catch all the scammers so if you do not find the project in which you are interested in that board that doesn't mean that the project is not a scam, that is why it is important to learn the techniques that those users are employing so you can apply them to the projects in which you are interested and see if they are legitimate.

But even those techniques are not going to be enough scammers are learning as well and they are trying to create their projects in such a way that they can pass all of those tests.

Its a good place to see which altcoins are scam but its not the place where you wanna go to invest, you can just go into the coinmarketcap and likes where you can see top coins that were already trading for years. The new ones are just going to keep you waiting for years, they can't even add their coin to a decent exchange because all the devs are doing is just taking pictures of them on conferences they attend.

I definitely agree with you that it is good to seek for answers to what seem to be confusing and ambiguous to someone. A lot of people are finding it difficult to get along with crypto all because they couldn't see anyone to explain certain things to them in the areas where they are missing out. There are certain areas in the bitcointalk forum board that most of us that are newbies can be visiting to help us in some areas of our uncertainty just like the link you gave. What we do not know, we can not explore. So there is a need for us to seek for answers.

This makes much sense,  in fact that section of the forum helped me a great deal when I was about making a wrong investment last year. Sometimes even with personal research, you still need to see people's opinion to do more analysis. I wish everyone checks in there once in a while. Detecting scam projects might sound so easy but in the real sense not so easy, when people share ideas about some findings about a particular project, it helps one decide whether to invest or not.

It definitely a big loss to our ends if we fall into this kind of fraud and scam.
Keep searching is very important for somehow we are about to know what project we have to invest with. I'm not particularly giving a hundred percent trust to bounties because of the bad experience that I have before. If we are planned to make an investment with ICO/Bounties, just be sure that we know more about their project.

I personally still often have trouble finding ico / ieo that is good and not deceptive. I often get stuck with the allocation of rewards to be distributed and also the distribution of stake every week. I just thought about it and didn't know whether the bounty would eventually pay or not. it will make you very sorry, and I can't even end it all. but there is one way that you can do, that is look for it in a trusted bounty platform, even though in the end it is not a big success, at least you still get a reward even at a very low price.

we all certainly hope that all bounties are good and there are no scams, so we can freely join any project without having to do special research.

The other way for scam is taking advantage of people by offering free give away of Bitcoin. Updating on reputable virus scanner can also help.

most of the investors here want to make profits by investing in crypot currencies. Actually, this matters to every single holder. Digital currencies are currencies in the end. Money can fulfill our basic needs so there is nothing bad about chasing it. Hoever, the investors must first learn about the crypto currencies deeply because only this way, they can succeed in their missions. Learning comes first than earning.

Knowledge is Power. You learn a lot from the different sessions of this forum and this guides many who cares from making mistakes. I was also guilty of this, until I fell into some errors that drew my ears to read more. I have falling into fake projects, scams before I got back to my senses and today I'm still learning and getting better.
knowledge is everything, if you have knowledge you can do things in a structured way, I'm still looking for a lot of knowledge. and also experience becomes important because the more experience we can become professional in a field

experience is part of the practice. without practice, theory, what you call knowledge, is useless. it’s best to always continue to do your work while gaining knowledge

The problem with most of these newbies is that they want to have their $1 turns $1000 in a week and this don't end well, we have all heard about a story of people investing so and so amount of money in a project and make 100X, but the issue with most of them is that they don't know that there is no free meal anywhere
The biggest problem is that they are given incomplete information, it is true that those that invested in bitcoin when it was really cheap have gotten profits like that, but what they are not told are all the very special circumstances in which this happened, bitcoin is the best coin in this market so very few coins can give profits like that, also the time it will take for a coin to give those kind of profits cannot be measured in weeks but in years or even decades.

Finally all of those that want to obtain those kind of results do not have any knowledge about how to invest in any market and yet they want to become rich very quickly and we know the chances of that are very low.

Apart from the Incomplete information doled out. Newbies are largely affected by impatience and inability to seek knowledge. They see cryptocurrency as a get rich quick scheme because of juicy stories their friends passed to them. And these uninformed cryptocurrency enthusiast make up the majority of the numbers.

I am very grateful to the members in this forum who have dedicated their precious time to help us (who have difficulty detecting fake projects) to avoid being caught in fraud. The sub-forum pinned by the OP provides a lot of information and warnings so we can be more careful before deciding to join in a project, whether for investment or join bounties.

Yes, in this forum, the community is so solid in doing research on new projects, whether the project is legit or scam. With a separate thread about scam projects, potential investors will be more vigilant and new investors will be aware that the cryptocurrency community will always find ways to reduce the appearance of new projects that are scam.

This can't be emphasized enough as that board is an extremely valuable way to avoid making mistakes when investing as some of the most supposedly 'reputable' projects out there are in fact clever scams designed for a quick pump and dump or exit scam, so do your due diligence before investing in any new startups

It is getting so difficult to make people read something. This is the same with investors, nobody wants to do research, but everybody wants clear answers to their questions / the fastest profit. Do everything on your own and you would not be wrong.

This is a good way to prevent and somehow lessen if not eliminate those scam projects which is really a pain on the ass for us. I hope we will continue on monitoring these kind of activities so the trust and confidence of the investors will be restored.

Yes, I think so too, if the thread can help everyone in choosing a project, it is very good if it can be pinned on the first page, but it must always be updated if there is a good new project, so that everyone can follow.

This kind of help promotes great convenience and improvement on many investors specially the newbies. There are a lot of way on how you can acquire knowledge and awareness on scam accusations but having a certain board that summarizes and compiles most of the committed and scam accusations is something we badly need. Lots of scams gain wealth from helpless people everyday so shedding a little help is an act of heroism to your co investors to save them from potential and being exposed on scam projects.

A very good suggestion, for beginners, they certainly don't understand cryptocurrency yet, and they only have trust in what someone has said and without thinking, observing and analyzing the project, they will easily decide to invest in it. So I think it's good for beginners to read or find out about things that can happen in cryptocurrency before starting or deciding to invest.

Many newbies come on this forum for one thing only, bounties, this makes them to ignore other threads available on this wonderful forum, there is many more to learn only for those who are ready to learn, there is nothing about crypto you won't find on here
It is true that many beginners are in cryptocurrency because they want to get quick profits without knowing about what cryptocurrency is and how to generate profits from cryptocurrency. So it is necessary for beginners to read or learn what will and can happen in cryptocurrency and they can search for everything in this forum.

Yes those reports that have proofs and shows ICO projects teams not being real were exposed in scam accusations. In a way I can understand that newbies do not really know about the history of this market and how it has evolved over the years and I can understand as well their enthusiasm to be part of this market, what I do not understand is that after months or even years they refuse to learn about this market and how it is impossible to get rich in just a few weeks, then those very same newbies as it could be expected lose all their money and then they blame the market for their losses when they are the ones to blame for having unrealistic expectations out of it.

So it is really disappointing that people like that are the majority of the users in this market but I think you're right in your assessment.

These people who are driven with false expectations had failed themselves. If you were to invest your money especially when we talk about a massive amount then be responsible enough to educate yourself rather than just using your emotions but do not really know how the market moves especially in the world of cryptocurrencies where the prices faces high volatility and if you don’t know or familiarize yourself about this then you’ll end up in the losing side which would make you inclined to cut your losses fur to panic and find yourself regretting or blaming the cryptocurrencies because of not doing your part.

With knowledge, the best thing is the more it is spend, the more it gets increased. It is something that will never leave you. The only asset that remains with us without ever worrying about its protection. Scammers indeed have become a pain in the neck and the easiest and most effective way to stay safe is by spreading right news about them. This will not only protect investors but demotivate new scammers from emerging too.

And unfortunately that is what we see all the time, newbies that come to this market thinking that they are going to become rich really quickly begin to invest in all kind of exotic coins that no one really knows, then when they predictably begin to lose their money they begin to blame the market and people like us that speak positively about it instead of blaming themselves for having such immature attitude about investing.

While people like us talk great things about coins like bitcoin or ethereum I do not have any problem saying that most coins out there are scams or projects with no future, but those people never listen.

When that happens there is a very easy solution to all of this, do not invest in those coins, it is understandable that newbies want to obtain great profits, who doesn't? But the problem comes when they decide to invest in coins that have nothing to show to investors except promises about what they are going to do and when that happens you should know that those projects have a very high chance of failure regardless of how good they may look on the outside.

So when you see a project that you are not sure if it's going to become a scam or not then think about the statistics that shows that more than 90% of the coins eventually fail and when you do that you will immediately avoid all of those projects no matter how good they may look like.
